Rob was fabulous, down to earth and super knowledgeable. The trivia game we played was fun and made the tour more engaging. I learned way a lot. So glad we booked this tour as I have done the monuments before without a guide and missed a lot of things that Rob was able to point out. Next time we are in DC we will book again and recommend touring with Trip Hacks DC to anyone and everyone.

This review is a little delayed, but we were never going to not write about how great our experience was!
My husband and I discovered the Trip Hacks DC YouTube channel about a year before our trip in November 2021. My husband had been to DC many times before, but this was to be my first time, and as the planner of the house, I soaked up all the information I could. As the trip date got closer, and looking over all we wanted to try to see in five days, we decided to splurge and book a private monument tour with Rob.
As informative as Rob’s YouTube channel is, his private tour exceeds it. The three-hour tour covered eight different stops along the National Mall and was well-paced, never feeling rushed or drawn-out. The amount of knowledge that Rob has, and his skill at telling the stories of each stop on the tour, was astounding. Rob made sure to not only point out the different design features and interpretations of each monument, but also to tell the story of how each monument came to be and the interesting and fun facts behind each. Along the way, Rob kept the conversation moving, taking time to find out more about us and allowing us to pepper him with random questions about living in DC. Rob was also gracious enough to take photos of us at each monument, something that, as partners traveling alone, we rarely get, beyond selfies. Additionally, because of the time of year (early November) coupled with the time of day (dusk), it meant that we got some beautiful photos of the monuments with very few people around. In many cases, we had the monuments completely to ourselves.
We left the tour feeling immensely grateful for his time and knowledge. We knew that we would enjoy the experience, but we didn’t know that, looking back, his tour would be one of, if not THE, highlight of our time in DC. Make sure to book time with Rob, you will not be disappointed! Thank you Rob! - Chuck and Chris

Prior to traveling to DC...we found Rob's videos on DC travel/Travel Tips on Youtube...I can not tell you how many of his tips/tricks we followed while in DC...his videos were extremely helpful and really helped us prepare for our trip to maximize our experience in the nation's capital.
Last minute, we booked our tour with Rob on the first day of our visit to DC/Virginia - and it turned out to be an incredible start to our trip! Rob was awesome from start to finish! He started our tour at the Jefferson Memorial and we ended a few short hours later at WWII...with many stops in between (MLK, FDR, Korean, Lincoln, Washington Monument, Vietnam, and Vietnam Women's Memorial just to name a few!)
Throughout the tour he was engaging, thoughtful and so knowledgeable about not only the history/facts about all the DC landmarks, but also about how they came to be on the mall with even insights on the architects and individuals who constructed them. Our kids (ages 11, 10, 10, 9, and 8) truly learned so much as we walked from monument to monument mesmerized not only with the grandeur of the structures, but also the history being shared...Rob engaged with each of the kids (and us) sharing stories and details which really kept their attention and pulled them into the stories of FDR...MLK...and Lincoln. It was outstanding!
Over the coming week post our tour, as we visited our family in Virginia, you could still hear our kids sharing what they had learned on our tour with Aunts, Uncles and cousins...local Virginian's who didn't know some of the information, all amazed that they had learned so much in just a short tour. We HIGHLY recommend Rob! If, like me, you want your kids to "take something home" from your travels...trust me - book him!

Our family of 5 got a personalized tour with Rob. We are so glad we booked with Rob, and he was extremely knowledgeable of the DC and not only was the tour great, but he gave us ideas of other things we should do in DC which we ended up doing. We arrived earlier that day and met Rob at the Vietnam Memorial for a ~2-hour tour. Because we were there in January, we felt we owned DC. Rob was very personable and happy to share his beautiful city with us. Make sure you give him a tip (beer money :)) after he's done. Best money spent to learn more about this city as it was our first time there. I highly recommend starting DC with Rob to get insights prior to seeing other landmarks as Rob can give you some additional insight and help you fill in the gaps of your itinerary. Enjoy some of the photos we took while on the tour w/Rob.

Rob is an excellent guide. He is personable and extremely knowledgeable about the history of DC and those who worked so hard to build it. We thoroughly enjoyed our walking night tour of the monuments. He even got us thinking about our own grandfathers who served in WWII and the Korean War. I would highly recommend his tours!

Before planning my trip to Washington DC I checked out Trip Hacks DC on YouTube. Rob’s channel is very informative and well done. I booked a private tour with Rob and was very happy I did. He is a great person and easy to talk with. My wife is a history buff and liked talking with Rob about the history of the monuments and the countless side stories related to them. I would highly recommend going with Rob and his company if you’re in town and want to get the inside track of Washington DC.

We discovered Rob's YouTube channel prior to our March 2022 visit to Washington DC. His videos are well produced and informative, so we decided to book a private tour for our family of four.
The ~3-hour, comprehensive tour of the major monuments--from the Jefferson Memorial to the WWII Memorial--was the highlight of our trip. Even the weather was beautiful that evening and the cherry blossoms were at (or nearing) peak bloom.
Rob is knowledgeable and friendly, and I especially appreciated his subtle and effective effort to engage one of the more introverted members of our family. And he did so without making her feel uncomfortable, which takes some finesse. Thank you, Rob and Trip Hacks DC, for a fantastic experience!

Had an wonderful experience on our private tour with Rob! We were fans of his YouTube channel and podcast and decided to hire him to show us the monuments. My husband and 9 year-old son love history and know a LOT of it, and Rob STILL managed to share facts that they didn't know, which is a feat, I promise. He was also extremely flexible and accommodating when we weren't able to make it to the Jefferson Memorial on time to meet him because the roads had been blocked off for the Cherry Blossom Festival, thinking fast and coming to meet us at the Washington Monument instead and then doing his tour in reverse order. With all we learned from him before and during our trip, he made our experience better in so many ways, and we're very grateful!
Heather Roldan
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our private tour with Rob. We've lived in the area for about 18 months, but hadn't really explored much in Washington, DC yet. Rob's tour took us to all the major monuments and memorials and it was a great introduction to our nation's capital. We learned facts and tidbits of information that we didn't know when we began the tour. Rob was very friendly and personable and we would take his tour again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Rob!

Rob met us for a private tour on Christmas Eve, 2022. There was an arctic chill and it was below freezing!! Rob was phenomenal and really gave our 5th Grade daughter the one on one history brief and inspiration behind each monument we visited.. He was incredibly informative and all of his D.C. travel tips were spot on and useful. We’ll keep watching his Trip hacks even long after our visit because it’s not only educational- but, entertaining too! Thanks ROB!! We would have been completely lost with you..

Guys, I can not tell you enough how great our tour with Rob was. This was our second trip out there and we did a TON of research, we knew what we wanted to see. We watched lots of Youtube videos before we went and TRIP HACKS DC had the absolute best advice so we definitely wanted to pick someone good if we were going to do a group tour. Rob did not disappoint. He is a very smart guy, who clearly reads a lot. He is well-versed in the memorials, the presidents, the figures and events depicted. But his knowledge didn’t end there, he was able to discuss movies filmed in DC, the current Jeopardy champ and numerous other topics along the way, which made the tour very enjoyable. We were fortunate to be in DC for the beginning of the cherry blossoms blooming. He knew a lot more background than just they were a gift from Japan. He was very patient with our obnoxious stops for photos, our multiple strollers and different paces of our group. He was accommodating when some people didn’t want to go up to the Lincoln memorial and still took those who did. The walking wasn’t too bad, as long as you know going in, it’s 2.5 to 3 hours of walking the whole time, there are stairs and dirt paths, there is no magic to this tour, it’s definitely just walking to several memorials, but Rob makes it so much more informative and entertaining and you’ll get a lot more out of it if you pick Rob to guide you.

Our trip to DC ended yesterday, and it was one week ago tonight that we participated in Trip Hacks' evening Monumental Trivia tour with Rob as our guide. Everyone at home has been asking what we enjoyed the most and the tour hits that mark. Informative, insightful and a whole lot of fun. Book Trip Hacks and get a "personal" tour with a lot of character!

This is your one and only choice for a great tour of DC and it's monuments! Rob is more than a tour guide. He is a one-stop shop of DC info for your vacation to our nation's capitol. Rob's YouTube videos are must-see for planning an organized, efficient trip to D.C. Rob led our family of four on a well-paced walk to the major monuments on the National Mall. By the time, you are done with the tour, you have gained intimate knowledge of DC but moreover your family/group will have made a friend. I highly recommend TripHacks DC for your upcoming visit to D.C. There really is no choice but Rob! He is the best in the business!

My wife and I took the Monumental Trivia at Twilight tour with our 12 year old twins. Our guide, Christine, provided a ton of info and did a great job of keeping the kids engaged. It was the perfect way to fit in so much into 3 hours, but in no way felt rushed. If you are going to be in the DC area I would highly recommend you booking this tour.

We were so pleased with our tour! Rob was so patient with our 5 young kids and took the time to share the information in a way that they could understand. He would even ask them questions to engage them in what we were learning and seeing. Rob’s YouTube videos were extremely helpful as we prepared for our trip to DC, so we knew that his tours would be great but the experience exceeded our expectations! If you are looking for a tour guide to give your family or group a great and memorable experience, look no further!

What isn't there to like about Trip Hacks DC Tours?!! I found the Trip Hacks DC YouTube channel a while back and have enjoyed all of Rob's videos. Learned that he gave tours in DC and we signed up for his Monumental Trivia Tour. What an awesome tour!!! Rob did an excellent job showing us the monuments and telling us the history behind each one. He not only reminded us of what we learned in school but also had fun, interesting stories about what we were seeing. He was very knowledgeable about DC and we learned a lot!! The information helped us with the other things we did on our vacation in the nations capital. We highly recommend taking one of his tours. Can't wait to take another one the next time we are back in DC.

After watching several very helpful TripHacks DC YouTube videos to prepare for our visit, a Trip Hacks DC private tour with Rob was our first tour in DC at the start of a first-time 1 week visit to DC. It was AWESOME! Rob was informative about all of the monuments we toured with him, friendly in his banter as we walked between stops, and able to answer the questions we had about other places and ways we wanted to explore later in the week. A private tour of the monuments with Rob at Trip Hacks DC should be the first "must-do" activity on every newcomers visit.
Emily Hutson
Found Rob on Youtube while researching a possible visit to DC. Not only did the videos help me feel more comfortable visiting but Rob also gives an A+ tour. Just like his videos he comes across as a warm yet still professional friend with very insightful information about the sites on the tour. He took time to remember everyone’s name and made us feel welcome. If you are looking for a tour of the monuments look no further!

Rob with Trip Hacks DC is a great guide. We took the evening Memorial tour and it was just amazing. Rob is very knowledgeable and accommodating. It was the highlight of our week long trip to DC.
Kenneth Jara
What an amazing tour this was, took the monuments tour on April 6, and got to see all the monuments. I follow trip hacks dc on YouTube, and loved all the videos with Rob, but on this tour, our tour guide, Christine, was also very knowledgeable! I thought I knew a lot about the monuments, but she really opened my eyes with the knowledge she had, here i am thinking i was a history buff :). Definitely taking the tour again when I come back to DC, and so should you! Only downside is I wish they had more tour options though, like ghost tours! Would love that!
Kristen Kellogg
Rob is an awesome tour guide and our whole family learned so much from him about the history of all the monuments and presidents. We would highly recommend him if you are looking for a tour in DC!
Amy Rich
Rob was the best! My three adult kids and I loved having him as our private tour guide. A private tour allowed my kids to open up and ask all the questions they would not have been comfortable asking in a larger group. By the end of the tour, we did not want to let him go! Rob - you are officially part of our family now!
Adrian Liddon
Rob was amazing. Our family enjoyed the tour. He was personable and listen to all 3 of my boys. If you want to avoid group tour with random people and a personalized touch to what you will see, Trip Hacks DC Tour is the way to go.
Stacey Nelson
Our tour with Rob was one of the highlights of our trip! Our children listened the entire 2.5 hours and had fun while learning. I would definitely recommend this tour with Rob to anyone coming to DC!
Christina Spring
Rob is a wealth of information. His walking tour around the National Mall at night was amazing!! Look up Rob on YouTube, his videos helped us prepare for our Washington DC trip!
Megan Eveland
Rob with Trip Hacks DC Tours is an amazing tour guide! He took my son (12), my parents (70) and myself on a fabulous, informative and well paced walking tour of the monuments in Washington D.C. He kept everyone engaged by asking questions and sharing interesting and informative facts about the monuments. I would highly recommend Rob and any of the Trip Hacks DC Tours staff!
Dan Tussey
We thoroughly enjoyed our monuments tour with Christine. She made it fun and interesting. We were lucky to have a beautiful, picture perfect evening for the walk and for photos along the way. Christine was open to questions and shared many fascinating details. We recommend this tour without question.
David Taylor
Rob was waiting for us at the designated spot and ready to go the minute we got there. The tour was extremely enjoyable and informative. Rob provided insight into things you would never get just by simply walking up to a monument. Overall the experience was excellent and my family will be doing the tour again when we go back to DC with the rest of my family.
Nick Brandon
We had an amazing experience with Rob. Great information and a lovely walk to see the nation's capital. Next time we're in Washington DC we will do another tour with him.
Maegan Garmany
Wonderful experience! Rob was very knowledgeable and engaging, maintaining the interest of even the teenager. Very interactive, answering any questions. We were able to take our time & not be rushed with a big group. This was our favorite DC experience.
RICK MULLEN
A great tour. Rob is very knowledgable and makes the tour fun and interesting. Highly recommend the monuments trivia tour. Money well spent. His YouTube channel is full of great info also.

We went on a family trip to DC, and after a recommendation from a friend chose DC trip hacks. It was a great call and Rob was a very informative and friendly guide! He engaged the kids and educated us on many of the new monuments we had never seen before. It was nice to have a personalized tour and at a comfortable pace which we were able to follow and cover so much! Definitely recommend!

We went on the Twilight Tour with Christine! We had communicated with Rob as we were coming in from Australia, and this was the only tour that was scheduled during our time in DC. And we weren't disappointed! Christine is thorough and gives out awesome nuggets of info you wouldn't get on a big bus tour. Book in with Christine or Rob and you can thank me later!
Matt Tucker
I could tell Rob from Trip Hacks DC was a detail oriented person from watching his Youtube videos about DC. Our tour was great and we got so much more out of visiting the monuments with Rob than we would have got on our own. My wife is a high school history teacher and she really enjoyed all the interesting tidbits Rob had. It was also nice to be able to get family pictures at the monuments.
Sylvia Chen
We were very fortunate to have a private tour with Rob with Trip Hacks DC. My son and I enjoyed a three hour tour of the National Monuments and learned about the rich history of our Presidents and Nation’s Capital. With a short, weekend trip, my son and I got a thorough and fun history lesson as we walked along the National monuments. We learned about artwork and sculptures and the behind the scenes, did you know facts, of the artists thoughts of what they wanted visitors to know and reflect upon when coming to these historic sites. It was fabulous! Rob was so patient with my son and I, encouraging questions, and just having a nice stroll without feeling rushed. It helped that we were able to avoid a lot of the crowd in the morning. My 10 yr old will not stop talking about all the little things he learned and shares them with his dad and his school friends upon return back home. Thanks Rob for the fun, thorough, and cool welcome to DC!

Rob with Trip Hacks DC Tours was very informative and the tour was enjoyable for our family. He was patient, took his time, shared insightful tidbits especially about the monuments which we wouldn't have known on our own. I was skeptical about the night tour (sun goes down early in January) but it was the right call. The monuments are different at dusk and nightfall. More moving. Made for great photos. Thanks Rob!

I chose Rob from Trip Hacks DC Tours as he noted on his website that he could accommodate a person with limited mobility. I walk, very slowly, with a cane. Rob was able to plan out a modified walking tour for me. Not only does he know the monuments, he knows how to time things so we could finish on time at the last stop! And, all this included frequent stops to rest my injured leg.
Rob was able to help me visit the Viet Nam War Memorial which was a hard thing for me. He was supportive and listened to my stories of friends I had lost to that war. I will always remember his kindness toward me while we walked through the monument.
Rob is knowledgeable, friendly, and very good at giving his all to a tour. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I absolutely recommend doing a private tour with Rob at Trip Hacks DC Tours!! We were in DC for a week, and this tour was the highlight of our trip. Rob is very knowledgeable and we learned a lot of things during this tour that we never would have known otherwise. We did a private 3-hour walking tour, and I will say that this is the ONLY way to see the monuments and memorial...especially at night! Rob provides an efficient and relaxed tour with lots of conversation and plenty of time to see everything along the way. We had a fantastic experience and got some beautiful photos. I can't say enough great things about Trip Hacks DC Tours! If you have a chance to do a tour with them, don't hesitate. It's an experience that is definitely worth it!
Martin Whanau
Rob was truly amazing. His Youtube channel prepared us so well for our visit, from where to stay, to what to do, to how to ride the metro. By the time we met him we felt like we knew him and the private tour for our family of four was well worth it. We met him on our first morning in the city for his monuments tour and it made such a difference to our whole experience of the city. An added bonus was that he took photos of the the four of us at each of the major memorials and these are the best photos that we have from our whole trip. Thanks Rob - we hope you take us up on our offer to host you in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Mark Finley
Rob is a great tour guide and ambassador for his City (district?) We enjoyed his Videos on youtube so much and found them so helpful we knew there was only one person we wanted to take a monument tour from. Nice guy, great fun!

We took the Monuments Trivia tour, which is also a moonlight tour with Christine. She was absolutely wonderful and she truly brought the monuments to life! She connected with each person on the tour, the trivia was fun and I especially enjoyed all the detail she gave us on the FDR monument. Highly recommend! 😊 …
Daria Donnelly
What a fun experience!! We were new to DC and wanted to do a tour to have all the history explained to us. My kids were literally watching YouTube videos the night before we arrived in DC and started watching Rob give his recommendations. I decided to book a tour when we arrived and it was well worth every penny! We did the evening Trivia Tour of the monuments with our 7 & 8 year old sons. They walked the 3 hours on the tour, listened, learned and our family won the trivia which they loved!! It was a nice small group and Christine was so nice and knowledgeable!! It was a really great experience for the family!! I definitely recommend this DC Hacks!!
Yali Brennan
We signed up with Rob on Monumental Trivia at Twilight Tour and it was the highlight of our DC trip. Rob is so knowledgable of the American history, provided many fun facts and he rewarded the correct answers with glowing sticks, kids were really having fun. Another big bonus was he took many family photos during the tour!!! I can finaly be in the photo!!! Thank you Rob!. We highly recommend anyone visiting DC to sign up wtih any tours Rob offer, you will learn and have fun at the same time.

Our family of 4 loved the Trip Hacks DC Monument Tour. Twin 12yo girls said it was fun and fascinating. Rob is very knowledgeable and engaging. We would have missed so much if we toured on our own. We did our tour at the beginning of our trip and my girls frequently quoted Rob while visiting the museums and other attractions.
Skip all the other tours and book with Trip Hacks DC!
Andrew Sanker
Rob was amazing. His knowledge of not only the National Mall, but DC as a whole, was great. I have a couple younger kids (11 & 6) and Rob was great with them. My brother lives in the area and was impressed by what he learned. Highly recommend using Trip Hacks. Next time we return we will book one of the other tours. Thanks again for a great tour!
Melissa Shaw
We enjoyed our trivia tour with Christine! She is very knowledgeable about the DC area and the history of the monuments, and gave us a fantastic tour with information and facts we would not have learned had we toured on our own. We would definitely recommend this tour and TripHacks to anyone going to the DC area! Rob’s YouTube videos helped us plan our entire trip…and saved us time and money with planning!

The best thing I did for our DC Trip! I booked a private tour with Rob for our family during our Spring Break trip to DC. I have been to DC a few times before and know how challenging it can be to navigate from monument to monument. Rob was awesome and full of knowledge about each of our stops. He was engaging, humorous and knows so much about history. My 11 year old had a scavenger hunt book for DC and Rob graciously helped with that too! I would highly recommend doing a tour with Rob. It's a great introduction to all the monuments and interesting historical facts that you may not have known.
Kyla McCartney
My husband and I took the trivia tour with Christine and it was one of the highlights of our trip! They keep the groups smaller, so we were able to ask questions and Christine was amazing. Thank you for walking around with us, even in the rain and wind!
Kelly Rea
My husband I had a private morning tour of the monuments. The whole experience was wonderful. The booking process went smoothly. The meeting point directions arrived the day day before our tour and we easily found Rob. Now the tour: Rob is extremely knowledgeable about the history of DC. He is also very personable. We learned so much about the monuments; from why the person was selected to have a monument, how they were made, to the history of the person being honoured. The information was presented in a way that was very engaging for us. He answered all our questions and despite being Canadian, we were able to answer a few questions that he gave us about American history (high school history classes were a long time ago!). Rob also gave us some great tips about visiting the rest of DC. I would highly recommend a private tour with Rob.
Lisa Brennaman
My family of 4 (kids 8 & 10) just got back from our DC trip and we all agreed that a huge highlight of ours was our private tour with Rob. Rob was very professional and you can tell he's passionate about his work. Before any trip, I have to plan and schedule out everything in detail. I watched the majority of Rob's youtube videos and read his blogs. His tips are concise and the information is laid out exceptionally well and was a huge help in my vacation planning. Our week long DC trip went so smoothly and we enjoyed it so much that we plan on another future trip and another tour when the kids are older. Thank you so much Rob!
Devin Allen
My first time in DC was great I did a lot of research and after watching so many of Rob’s YouTube videos I booked a tour with him. It was amazing Learned so history. I was on a solo trip I’m always a wheelchair user Rob help push me around. Thanks Rob

Rob was such a pleasure to spend time with on our vacation. While we were fortunate enough to have him all to ourselves (my wife and three young kids ages 11, 9 and 7), the tour has a very personal feeling unlike what you would probably get from a big name your company. What I liked the most out of anything was that Rob did not have a script whatsoever, on paper or in his mind. It was from his heart, meaning he talked about the material in a way that showed he really cared about it.
He also went with the flow, as I asked my dumb questions of stuff I should have remembered from my school days or when my kids asked their questions. He pivoted and always seemed to have interesting stories around even those questions. Again, the lack of script made it so enjoyable.
Rob also made me at ease with my kids. I wasn’t sure how they’d handle a 3 hour walking tour about historical monuments on a hot day. They had a couple moments, but he engaged them on their level when they asked questions. When they got a tad cranky here and there, he distracted them with anecdotes he had at his disposal.
Most importantly, the information was excellent. I learned a lot! I feel like he had so many more stories there just wasn’t time to share.
If you haven’t seen his YouTube videos I urge you to check them out as we used a lot of that pre vacation info for booking our vacation. I highly highly recommend Rob. Please note, he does his own tours (VIP) and his company does them too. I can’t speak to anyone else there so I recommend paying a tad more and booking him, the owner.

We met Rob in early June for a morning tour of the monuments around the tidal basin and the national mall (Jefferson, Roosevelt, King Jr., Korean, Vietnam, Lincoln and WWII). He was very personable and so knowledgeable about the sites and the history behind them. So much of these monuments are represented through symbolism and having someone there to point it out and explain it really allowed us to appreciate the deeper meanings behind them.
From start to finish, it was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend a tour with Rob to anyone visiting the DC area.

My wife and I were in Washington DC recently for 5 days (from Toronto, Canada) and we went on the night tour of the National Mall with Trip Hacks DC. It was the wisest decision we made for our trip. Our tour guide Christine was extremely knowledgable, took us on a perfect route, and gave us great advices for visiting other places in Washington DC and surrounding areas. This tour would be a perfect starting point to get an overview of the most important sites in and around the National Mall and their history and significance. I highly recommend Trip Hacks DC for anyone visiting Washington DC.

My husband and I did the private Christmas tour with Rob and it was PHENOMENAL!!!!!! The walk was about two miles, I believe, but with the stops and the great info the walk was nothing. Rob is very informative and he was wonderful with answering all questions. Did I mention he’s also a great photographer? The best in DC for capturing all pics we wanted to take at the different landmarks. I HIGHLY recommend a tour with Trip Hacks DC. If you’re able to get a tour with Rob do it. If you’re able to do the private tour with Rob, it’s truly a treat! Thanks again, Rob, we truly enjoyed ourselves and when we come back to DC we will do another tour with Trip Hacks DC.
Lonesome Crow
My wife and I really enjoyed our time with Rob from Trip Hacks DC Tours. Very knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. We had such a huge storm come up and Rob found a place for us to huddle while it past. Then we saw the most delightful reflections of the Washington Monument at the Lincoln Monument. The dark sky back drop made for some wonderful photos and the sunset behind the Lincoln Monument was spectacular. I highly advice any one to reserve a tour with Rob and the employees at Trip Hacks DC Tours.
Craig Geddes
I highly recommend a tour with Trip Hacks DC. We did the private tour with Rob. He is very knowledgeable about Washington DC and kept our 4 kids engaged the entire tour. If you are planning on visiting DC this is a must do experience. Also be sure to watch Trip Hacks DC YouTube Videos and check out the podcast. This tour was one of the highlights of our 5 days in DC.

Highly recommend taking a private tour with Rob. My family and I enjoyed our time with him and we learned many things we didn't know about the monuments he took us to. Just an awesome experience! Grateful to have found his YouTube channel or else I would've never known about Trip Hacks DC.
Berlyn Castaneda
We booked a private tour with Rob from Trip Hacks DC in early September 2020. It was worth every penny for the memories we will have. Rob was very informative, he was able to answer all of our questions and really gave us a well rounded history of each monument. He remembered our names and was very personable and friendly, he really made us feel welcome and comfortable. He was kind enough to take photos of us at each monument then email them after as to avoid touching each others phones. I highly recommend booking a tour, it was the highlight of our trip!
Chris Kelly
We had a wonderful tour today with Rob from Trip Hacks DC Tours. He knew the answers to any question we had. His knowledge of anything DC is amazing.
There were four people in our group with ages ranging from 83 to 57. So needless to say we had a lot of rest stops. Rob's patience and kindness was very much appreciated. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience.
We would definitely recommend Trip Hacks DC Tours. We loved every minute of our tour.
Rob Fowler
TripHacksDC private evening tour.
Rob is a great tour guide, very informative and entertaining. He arrived early and was very accommodating to our old folks who couldn’t move as fast as the youngins. Everyone enjoyed themselves even when the bitterly cold wind (for a group of southerners) started blowing.
He was easy to work with and very understanding when we had to reschedule our vacation and tour 3 times due to COVID and a hurricane.
Highly recommend!!!

The nightime monuments tour with Rob was perfect for our family of four! Rob was great with our teens and provided just the right amount of information for them! He also answered my requests for context (e.g., can you provide a short summary on the Korean War for them?) and shared history in such a way that we felt like we were strolling with an old friend who just happened to be an expert on US History and the stories behind the monuments representing it. If you are looking for a tour that is personal, enjoyable and informational, look no further than Trip Hacks DC Tours.
Jorge D
What a wonderful experience! I could not recommend Rob more to anyone who’s going to visit DC or even someone who already lives there and just hasn’t had a chance to really see the monuments. His knowledge and insight of the monuments and the city is incredible. But not only that his friendly personality won us all over. He made my 10 year old son super comfortable and excited to see the sights. This really was by far the best experience we had during our trip! Thank you so much Rob!!

Rob was an excellent tour guide. Way worth it rather than going to the monuments alone. He had valuable insights info all the sites that you wouldn't have gotten visiting them yourselves.
He was down to earth, relatable and made it fun for my dad and I. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting DC!

New to the D.C./Maryland/Virginia area, I found Rob on YouTube because I was trying to figure out how to use my Metro card. I started watching and following his videos. When I was ready to start exploring D.C., I knew no one better with whom to book a professional tour to get me acquainted before I start engaging in deep dives. Bringing along a friend, we had a wonderful time! Rob is easy going, knowledgeable, knows how to take the best pictures for your Facebook posts, and good conversationalist. We hope to take more of his tours in the future.

What a great experience! Fabulous tour of the monuments with Rob! Definitely a highlight of our trip. Tons of interesting facts and commentary. Even the weather was perfect! Thank you also for offering to take pictures of us several times:) It was a really great night, and a great visit to DC!
Kristi M.
We've all visited the monuments, but it takes a tour with Trip Hacks DC to really do a deeper dive than most people see just seeing them on their own. Rob is friendly, knowledgeable, and is accommodating to answer any questions you may have about the monuments, history, and DC sites in general. Don't miss the opportunity to enhance your DC visit. I highly recommend his services.
Robbie Masterson
Rob was a great guide. He engaged our shy teenagers and made it enjoyable for them even though it was extremely cold outside. He helped us appreciate the uniqueness of each monument and gave very interesting info about each. He was able to explain the themes, architecture and meanings of the monuments on various levels. I would definitely recommend Rob!
Gabrielle Uhl
Rob at Trip Hacks DC is fabulous. The the tour is organized and full of fun facts. Rob is a seasoned professional and will take good care of you. Thanks again Rob for making our first trip to DC amazing!
Gene Winemiller
I took the Monumental Trivia Tour with Rob as the Tour Guide.
This was a walking tour with a small group of 12 visitors, that kept it so that everyone could hear, learn, and participate in the trivia questions for prizes.
Rob is friendly, knowledgeable, and a great Tour Guide. I learned much more about the National Monuments than I ever did in school. You can drive around, or even walk around by yourself and see things, but the stories behind the scenes makes all the difference.
This 3 hour tour was fun and a very good value. Wear good walking shoes.

Have not yet had the good fortune of taking a live tour with Rob, but hope to someday! His videos are extremely helpful for planning a trip to DC and how to make the best use of your time and learn more about what you will be seeing. Watch ALL the videos before your trip or just if you miss DC like I do and want to see and hear more about the greatest city in the U.S. :) Thanks Rob!

Rob is incredible. Trip Hacks DC is easily the best place to go to have fun while learning tons about our great nations Capital. My significant other will always recommend family and friends to Rob whenever they come to visit looking for a tour. We also love that Trip Hacks DC provides ways of virtually learning about DC even during times we're not able to get out and see things for ourselves. Thanks Rob!
Geoffrey Heald
I have not yet had the chance to take one of Rob's tours, but I have joined his online trivia games a couple times, and they are always fantastic. Rob really knows his stuff! He's fluent in history, pop culture, and the ins-and-outs of traveling around the DC area. I love visiting Washington, DC, and I will definitely be using Rob's services next time I am there.
Ana Bermudez
I would highly recommend the Monumental Trivia Tour. Our family had so much fun and we learned tons from Rob. This experience was of great value. If you're looking for a guided tour then this is the one to do.

Rob is an amazing tour guide and he knows so much about Washington DC. I had so much fun on his Virtual Trivia Tour! I've been watching his videos since July 2018 and it's become my favorite city in the United States. He is a very knowledgeable tour guide and is sure to impress you on your next visit to Washington DC.

I stumbled across Rob and the very useful Trip Hacks DC youtube videos while researching my first trip to Washington DC - and decided to sign up on a monuments private walking tour with Rob on the first day of my visit to the city. It could not have been a better decision! Rob is highly knowlegeable, unfailingly helpful and friendly, and made a huge difference to how I was able to appreciate the nuances of this fascinating city during my week-long stay - and making me want to return as soon as I can. He brought to life the monuments we visited during our 3 hour walk - which just flew by - and patiently dealt with questions from this American history novice. I highly recommend a private tour with Rob - it is worth every penny. Thanks so much, Rob!

We enjoyed our tour with Rob. He was able to keep my kids engaged the whole time and we were able to learn so much from the tour. My kids said the tour was one of their favorite parts of the trip. It was well worth the money so glad we chose to do it!
Terry Finley
We loved our twilight monument tour with Rob and Trip Hacks DC Tours. He was very knowledgable about the monuments and the history behind them. We had a great time with the group we toured with and I would HIGHLY recommend that anyone take any of the offered tours with Trip Hacks DC. You will not regret it.

My family and I took the 2-hour evening private tour of the monuments with Rob after having discovered him through his Trip Hacks DC videos with tips on visiting DC on Youtube. Search for Trip Hacks DC (so worth the look!).
My experience with Rob was superb from beginning to end! The sign up to pick the tour on his website was simple. His email confirmations and related communications was the right amount. He even included a photo of the exact meeting location.
Rob’s narrative at each monument really brought each site to life. He engages you and asks questions along the way so you aren’t ever bored (which is great). Not all tour guides are engaging (sorry, it’s true).
Whether you realize it or not, Rob is managing your time efficiently. You see all the monuments without having to watch the clock and without having to pull out a map to find the next location. You just have to listen, come along for the walk, and enjoy your time while learning A LOT from Rob’s insights. He knows his stuff. Two hours goes by quickly.
Rob sent a thank you note a few days later — always a nice touch in my humble opinion.
Rob is friendly, informative, and easy to be around. Rob is both a true professional and showman which makes for a memorable and fun experience. I highly recommend taking a tour with Rob of Trip Hacks DC if you are in visiting DC.

This is my review of the Virtual Trivia Tour that Rob has been doing while the COVID-19 stay-at-home orders and travel restrictions are in place. I've been a long time fan of Rob's YouTube channel. Even while stuck at home, Rob is still engaging the public with live Virtual Trivia games that take us all around the city. I had an absolute blast, and once travel opens up again, I'm taking the first chance I get to do a real-life tour with Trip Hacks DC. Be sure to support these guys! All the best, Alan (aka CHOPS).

I highly recommend going on a tour with Rob! He's a great guide and was very accommodating for me (32 weeks preggo), my husband, and two boys (9 & 11). In addition to knowing a lot about DC in general, Rob educated us about the monuments and memorials. Most importantly for me, he knew where the best bathrooms were! Even though I lived in the city for 2 years, there's a lot of interesting info that one can miss without a guide - whether it's a book or a real person. And come on, who has time to be looking in a guidebook when there's so much to see in DC?
Mike Van Dine
Fun fact-filled National Mall Monuments tour! Experienced tour guide gave us all the facts about each monument, then answered any questions. They made it into a fun trivia contest with trivia questions at each monument and glow sticks to the first correct answer and a contest winner at the end.
We learned a lot! Starting a 5pm in the summer was s great idea too. The National Mall is a national treasure.
Jessie Klemme
I found Rob and Trip Hacks DC Tours through local podcasts while preparing for my trip. When deciding which tour to sign up for, I picked his because I already knew his quality and standards so it made sense to do my in person tour with him. He gave great random trivia and was very personable. He was also recognized as we went by other as "the person who saved their trip". I am glad I decided to tour local and with Rob!
Michael Arens (Mike Arens)
The trivia tour was lots of fun. Rob and the Trip Hacks team are very nice and conversational. They tried to get to know me and the others on the tour. They kept us all engaged through trivia and conversation. I would definitely recommend this tour to those that are visiting DC for the first time and it was still a very good time for me on my 3rd trip.
Michael Montez
We were planning a trip to DC during the summer and started watching the YouTube channel. We knew we needed to get the inside scoop of the monuments so we booked a TripHacks DC tour. Christine, our guide, was a great guide. The group was small but mighty and Christine kept us engaged. Starting at the Jefferson and ending at the WW2 was the perfect route. Three hours sounds like a long time, but it flies by when you are learning. We had a great time. Would recommend to all groups.
Kim Wilson
Rob did a fantastic job telling the group about the monuments. Was just the right length (even though it was chilly that night). The trivia is a great idea to get everyone involved.
He made it a fun evening and would definitely participate in another if his tours.
Nishant Pappireddi
I had an awesome tour with Christine! I had seen the memorials on a previous trip, but it was really nice to see them again and learn more about the background and stories associated with them.
Troy Taylor
Rob - love the Monumental Trivia events. Great distraction to all else that's going on in the world. It's a family affair as we all look forward to playing and competing against each other (my son took 5th place...ugh - lost again...) Great mix of questions (easy/hard) so all can have fun participating. Look forward to getting back to DC and when we do, we'll definitely be taking a Trip Hacks DC Tour. Thanks for pulling these together!

We had such a great time on our walking tour - Rob had so much information, and he made the tour interesting and fun. I highly recommend using Trip Hacks DC Tours if you are looking for a great guide!!
Szymon Stachniak
We had an amazing tour with Rob. There’s such a huge difference getting a real understanding of where you are and why it was built than just being there. Rob was insightful and friendly. 100% recommended, you won’t regret the tour.
Kari Hatley
Amazing tour with Rob! It was the best part of our visit. Seeing and hearing about each location enhanced our experience in ways we would not have had if we went about it on our own. Rob provided excellent communication as well. Highly recommend a tour!
Jefferson Memorial, Roosevelt Memorial, MLK memorial, Korean War Memorial, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial and Wall of names, WWII Memorial

The perfect blend of geeky and good-to-know! Trip Hacks DC hosted excellent trivia games during quarantine, and back in the day when traveling was allowed, I gained valuable information from several of Rob’s videos. I went to the web seeking details about the Dept of Agriculture cafeteria and came away from his website with EVERYTHING from the food price-per-pound to the correct entrance to the building. Using this company will save you $$ and, more importantly, TIME, when the Capital opens up again. Thanks, Trip Hacks DC!! ❤️

Trip Hacks was planned and executed very professionally. From the communication and directions, to the tour itself. The directions were very easy to follow and thorough. Our tour guide was highly knowledgeable about the memorials and monuments in DC. He was great with our kids and kept them engaged. It is clear he has a passion for the job and highly organized. We will use Trip Hacks again for our next trip to the DC area!

We had a great tour by Christine!!! We would highly recommend it to anyone coming to the area. There wasn't a question that she couldn't answer; She was sooo knowledgeable!!! Upon her recommendation, we visited several art museums, went to various shopping/dining areas, and ate at several iconic restaurants. Christine made our trip!!! We can't thank you enough!!!

Our family of 6 (kids ages 7,9,11,13) had a great time with Christine. We learned so much that we wouldn’t have on our own. The trivia was fun too! I highly recommend. Pack snacks!!

Six days in D.C, so much to do, and we did it all. Yet, the whole family agreed that Rob’s guided tour was the top highlight! Equal parts professional and personable, and delightfully knowledgeable. Outdoor, non-masked activity was a nice break. Perfectly timed! I can’t recommend him enough!
Brian McNab
Just wanted to give a shout out to Rob and his team for the entertainment while in lock down. Participated in this past Monumental Trivia challenge and it was great interaction, and very informative. Can not wait for the next trip to DC and book a tour in person. Thank you again!

I can't say enough about our experience with this young man. He did a good job and we enjoyed facts that we would not have been given if we had not had this tour.. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who visits DC. You cannot enjoy DC on your own, it is too much do on your own.

Best tour business in D.C. And they are locally owned and operated so your not getting a by the book strictly scripted tour. I highly recommend them.

When our group trivia tour was rescheduled due to high wind storms, we ended up getting a private tour with Rob during peak season because others canceled. We had a great time learning so much about each monument and enjoyed the perfect weather. Rob made a great attempt to engage our kids and we all thought it was the best way to see the monuments around the tidal basin.
Tallie Geddes
We had a great tour with Rob from Trip Hacks DC. He was so knowledgeable and had an easy walking route to follow that allowed us to see every monument. He answered all of our questions and kept things fun and interesting for my kids. We would highly recommend taking a tour with Trip Hacks DC if you are wanting a fun, efficient and engaging tour.

Rob was interesting and was personally involved with each one of us. The tour was special involving a jeopardy game twist , asking questions along the way. I strongly recommend the smaller involved tour and will be back.
