Bryan was an amazing tour guide!! If you’re in the Virginia Beach area, and you have time, definitely take this tour! He was so informative not only about the water itself, but about all the life in and around it. We saw not only dolphins, but bald eagles, Terns, cranes, and more! He educated us about the very special ecosystem that is First Landing State Park Beach. Not only was he informational, but he made it so fun. For beginners and experts, this is a great trip to go on.

This kayak tour was a blast! Brian is an experienced guide with great knowledge of the wildlife. With a little bit of patience, we were able to find 3 seperate pods of dolphins. Brian wisely guided us in a direction anticipating the dolphins' next location- and it worked. Highly recommended.

We had such a great time kayaking with Bryan! It was a beautiful morning. We missed the dolphins but saw bald eagles, osprey, tons of fish, and the scenery itself was just absolutely beautiful. It was my first time seeing a Bald Eagle in person and I’ll never forget it! Bryan is incredibly knowledgeable on the area, the ecosystem and wildlife. We learned so much from him. It took us a minute to get the hang of the tandem kayak but we figured it out and would definitely do it again. The tour was my husband & I’s first time at First Landing State Park & we actually loved it there so much we went back after our tour & the next day to spend the day there. Thanks so much for such a great time & introducing us to a new favorite spot!

Our family had such a wonderful time kayaking in the bay with our GoKayak tour guides! The day started off cold and cloudy, but after 15 minutes the sun came out and so did the dolphins! We were kayaking around about 8 dolphins for over an hour!! Bryan and his crew were very informative. They gave so much detail about the area and the animals native to where we were kayaking. They turned a good trip into a great one that my family will remember forever. We felt safe the entire time and this was a wonderful social distancing activity if that is your concern!! I would highley recommend for beginners or experienced kayakers!! You will not be disappointed!!!! I definitely will be booking again whenever I am in the area!!

Definitely worth booking! My wife and I booked this tour for the day after we said our vows. Not 5 minutes in the water and dolphins were right there checking us out! Very very fun time, got to see blue Herons, osprey, and the mated pair of bald eagles in the area. Brian knew his stuff about the ecosystem in the area, as well as the history, that made the tour that much more enjoyable. Very personable tour guide, plenty of wildlife, and calm (if not a tad chilly) weather, made this a six star experience. Definitely worth every penny (and he doesn't charge many!)

This was a great tour, which was led by our very knowledgeable tour guide, Brian. He informed us of many different types of ecosystems within Broad Bay, as well as local and federal laws pertaining to the area. He also led us to some amazing spots, where we got to see many dolphin pods and rare bald eagles. Overall, I would highly recommend GoKayak! as a tour company, and especially Brian as a tour guide.

Okish experience. Didn't see any dolphins and most of the little wildlife we saw could have been viewed from walking through First Landing park. Not the guides fault, you can't control wildlife. The kayaking itself was uncomfortable for both of us and not that fun since neither of us had experience. I also suggest not booking this too far in advance and keeping an eye on the weather. The next day was much nicer weather and much less windy.

This was a great family activity while on vacation here in Virginia Beach. Bryan was the best guide. He was very knowledgeable of Rudee Inlet and the wild life. We got extremely close to dolphins out in the ocean and saw 4 bald eagles plus many other birds while kayaking. If you like being outside don’t pass this up. Brian was a great tour guide for our sunset kayak tour. We cruised through owl cove and saw some big birds along the shore. We then headed out to the ocean and were immediately greeted by dolphins! It was a great experience and we highly recommend it!

We went out for a 2 hour tour starting at noon. It was super hot but the breeze off the water was great. We didn't see any dolphins but we did see other wildlife. I recommend this tour. Brian and John are great guys. Brian even memorized everyone name without a hiccup. Thanks guys

While on spring break my family of 4 enjoyed some wonderful group kayaking with Go Kayak in Broad Bay. Our guide Brian was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area and wildlife and even memorized everyone's name in the group which was pretty impressive. The waters were calm and manageable and the scenery was wonderful. We saw an osprey and unfortunately the dolphins eluded us on this trip but still enjoyable while getting a nice workout at the same time. Would definitely recommend and you won't be disappointed! Good idea to wear bathing suit bottoms or bring some extra clothes as your lower half definitely gets a bit wet. Since you enter the state park for the trip also come prepared to hike or enjoy the beach after as well.

Great guys took us out on a two hour kayak tour got to see so much of the wild life here. Learned about the different animals and the history of the area. All two person kayaks and life jackets so kids are welcome. And any level of experience so even if you have never done this before they are right there to help. Well be coming back to do this again most definitely!!

This was an amazing experience my family and I will always remember! The setting in the water around the state park is gorgeous and there is so much wildlife! Our tour guide Brian really made it a remarkable journey with all of his local knowledge and enthusiasm. We even got to hold a jellyfish! The dolphins swam right past our kayaks at the end of our trip and it was incredible to see them that close and you could hear them breathe! We had a great time and enjoyed the feeling of being out on the water. Highly recommend!

What a marvelous tour! Some of us had been kayaking before and some had not and our tour guide Bryan made everyone feel very comfortable. This was a beautiful place to kayak and even the first timers did great! Our favorite part was seeing the dolphins! A few of them went right next to us and there was even a baby dolphin! Overall it is a very scenic place and lots of fun just to be out there. So glad we did this and we will be back!

Super friendly and patient with all of us, especially to those that lagged behind a little. Gave us a great history lesson about the area and surrounding areas, learned a few new things. My partner brought me here for a surprise trip so I didn’t know what to expect. At first I was anxious as I have only gone kayaking a few times and there were little instructions given. All went well… nobody flipped over! The worst that happened was as boats passed there were ripples that made the kayak rock a bit. Definitely bring a change of clothes, my bottom half was soaked! If you aren’t familiar with kayaking I’d recommend you watch a video on how to paddle, stir, change direction, stop, etc before you come. It is a bit of an arm workout but thankfully we had many breaks. Our guide Bryan was the best. He remembered everyone by name, started conversations, and checked in to make sure everyone was okay. He is very passionate about what he does and I learned a lot about the area. Unfortunately there were no dolphins this time around but we had a great experience. Everything that we did and learned made up for it. Id definitely do this again in hopes to see dolphins the second time around.

The guides were very nice but I would only recommend going to do this if both people who will be kayaking are experienced. Two people go into one kayak. We only saw some birds and no dolphins at all. I booked this specifically for seeing dolphins. It’s definitely a lot of upper arm exercise as you will be kayaking for two hours and covering a lot of land. A lot of the time, by the time we caught up, we had missed a lot of what the guide has said and we didn’t get a lot of time to relax before having to kayak again. Nice tour, but only if you’re an experienced kayaker.

Our kayaking tour with Bryan was the highlight of our trip to Virginia Beach; we would highly recommend booking an outing! Bryan is a stellar guide and went above and beyond to give our group an incredible experience; due to his preparation and knowledge of the area we were able to spot so many neat things, including a bald eagle, an osprey, lots of jellyfish, and so many dolphins! We were even so fortunate to see the newest addition to the group, a baby dolphin; what a treat! Kayaking with the dolphins has been the highlight of my trip! As well as the other wildlife of the First Landing State Park! It was an amazing way to start the day! I wish I could give more than just 5 stars! I can’t say enough about how amazing GoKayak is! My husband and I had such an amazing time and enjoyed every minute of this incredible experience. Bryan was such a phenomenal guide and has so much to share about the area and the wildlife that resides there. We saw different types of sea gulls, jelly fish and an osprey and a bald eagle chasing one another mid-flight. The dolphins were the cherry on top, of course. They are such gentle and intelligent creatures and Bryan taught us more than we ever thought we knew about them. Do yourself a favor and GO! You will not regret it! This would be a great times for family and/or friends! I would have gone again if we hadn’t waited until the end of our stay in VA beach, but you better BELIEVE we will be back in the future!

Sooo very glad we did this! A storm came in roughly an hour/hour n a half before our launch time. Bryan is very knowledgeable about the location and its patterns, he delayed launch time, and we were able to still go out and enjoy the full two hours it turned out to be an absolutely stunning evening. The views were incredible and the tour was fantastic! We learned awesome facts about the area and saw cool wildlife! Jellyfish diving birds it was truly amazing we couldn't thank Bryan enough for such a wonderful evening!

We enjoyed a morning seeing dolphin pods flip and play in the distance. My elementary aged boys we’re excited to see the dolphins Bryan did an excellent job getting us near a pod of four dolphins. Because the weather can be less dependable in October I waited to book until the night before. Bryan answered my inquiry quickly that evening and making reservations was very quick and easy over the phone. He also gave very specific directions to getting to the boat ramp and was accommodating to our virtual online school and teaching schedule that put us a few hours later that morning. I had never seen dolphins that close up in the wild and we enjoyed hearing about the eco-system of the area that is very unique. This was such a wonderful activity to do during our trip and was great to have our guide Bryan who was familiar with the area and patient with inquisitive and (sometimes fickle) kids who have varying moods.

My daughter and I went on our 1st tour today. Our guide, Will, was very sweet and knowledgeable. Weather was a concern but the tour guides were on top of it-even scheduled an earlier tour for us which was great cause it stormed terribly during our original time. We had a great time kayaking! The weather was perfect and the water was calm. The only waves, small waves, coming through were from boats going by. Bryan was such an awesome guide always keeping an eye out for wildlife and of course the dolphins. We saw at least 5 dolphins, some came very close to our group. Paddeling wasn’t difficult and there was plenty of times we just floated while watching the dolphins. Would definitely recommend GoKayak VB and Bryan for a great tour!

Went on a guided tour here and it was amazing! I think we saw around 20 dolphins and got within 10 feet of them. The double kayaks were great because it allowed the weaker kayakers (including a 10 year old) to really enjoy the experience. The guide is so knowledgeable about the wildlife and some history of the area, and we got to see/learn about bald eagles, osprey, and herons. Would definitely go again if I'm in the area! Favorite activity I did in Virginia Beach, and it turned a rainy day into a great experience.

About a month ago, my husband, son, son's girlfriend, and I met Brian at Rudee Inlet for our first adventure to kayak with dolphins. We chose the 7 am time slot which was perfect in temperature, quiet water and activity in the cove to get out to the ocean, and since we were the only ones on his tour. From our first sighting of a bald eagle to turtles, blue herons, spouting oysters, and finally, over 20 sightings of dolphins (even some black ones), Brian kept us engaged with informative conversation about the area and the wildlife with his infectious personality. He is a local, knows his work well, loves giving tours, and it shows.This experience is a must when visiting Virginia Beach! I did this tour with my husband for his birthday and we had the most amazing 2 hours. Brian was very knowledgable on the eco system of first landing state park and within 30 minutes of the tour we were surrounded by a pod of dolphins. Brian took loads of pictures for us without even asking and sent us them all later that day, which we were not expecting. Amazing Amazing experience. - You do not have to be a pro to kayak in the ocean - Boarding is from the Owls Creek Boat Launch near the aquarium - Bryan Hopkins is a talented as well as fun guide - You are all set after few minutes of rowing lesson - Bryan, warns and keep you away from any potential danger - The first half of the journey is bird watch - one can see birds from woodpeckers to the bald eagle - The second half is more near the rocks and the gate to the Atlantic ocean - Bryan also emailed the picture he took during the tour Very reasonable, exceptional, and satisfying kayak tour.

We went on this adventure on Sunday, August 9th. I was visiting my brother from Vegas and told him I wanted to kayak. Luckily we came across kayaking with a dolphin. I was in Virginia for 10 days total and this adventure was our last of an amazing week. Brian was insanely professional and he seriously remembered everyone’s names the entire time we were with him.Definitely make sure you are in shape because you will get a good workout!!! We were huffing it pretty hard on some parts of the tour because Brian was trying to follow the dolphins. Unfortunately, my partner that was with me wasn’t helping too much with the paddling and if there weren’t people around I would’ve knocked him off the kayak(J/k) This was definitely worth the money and in my opinion Brian could charge much more.If you go on this adventure make sure to tip your tour guide! Bryan was very knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. He took us to a great location with lots of dolphins and was very patient with my daughter who struggled kayaking. She rode solo and is 14. It was definitely a struggle for her. But my husband and I rode doubles with the younger kids and had no problem. My recommendation for those with kids. Have them ride with an adult unless they are super strong 💪🏽 unfortunately we had an odd number

Absolutely amazing. The guide was very knowledgeable about first landing park. The kayaking is a little harder if you’re not use to kayaking but the tour slows down and let’s you rest if needed. We saw so many dolphins! Truly amazing experience.

2 hour dolphin kayak tour. Sadly, dolphins never showed up, but still well worth the trip. Our guide, Brian, was patient and very knowledgeable about both kayaking and the local flora and fauna. I'm inspired to go buy some kayaks back home in IL for lakes.

Such a great time! The tour is great for beginners, families and children. Bryan is a wonderful, knowledgeable guide and you can tell how passionate he is. I went on a 6pm tour and saw dolphins, osprey, an oyster farm, and a gorgeous sunset. 10/10

Gokayak is conveniently located in the back parking lot of the aquarium. Look for his Gokayak trailer. Bryan brought us on an amazing kayak tour through Rudees inlet. We ended up an area where we saw over 30 dolphins! It was fascinating to see how close they swam to us. We not only got to see their backs/fins pop out of the water..we also got to see some dolphin faces. We went to the same area that the Dolphin boat tour boats went to. The downside with the boat ride is you can't get as close to the dolphins as we got with the kayaks. Best of all we were not rushed. Bryan was very knowledgable and provided a great guided tour and was able to answer all of our questions. He loves what he does and it shows! My family of 4 were the only group that booked for our time slot so we got a private tour. The water was calm and the weather beautiful. Thank you Bryan for providing memories to last a lifetime.

I went on a kayak tour with Gokayak last September, and had a awesome experience! The guide, Bryan, was knowledgeable in the Virginia Beach’s local history and nature. Went on a tour today at 10 am and it was worth every penny! The tour guide is very friendly and clearly knows what he’s doing. We kayaked along a group of about 50 dolphins and came within paddle length. Along with the plethora of dolphins, we also saw fish, herons, ospreys, and 2 bald eagles! This experience is a must!

This was the best thing my fiance and I did at the beach so far. It was absolutely breathtaking. Awesome experience and awesome guide. He was so knowledgable and allowed us to enjoy it with alot of information while putting us in the best positions to see dolphins. We kayaked right next to them and my fiance was amazed. You can hear them breathing you are so close with good conditions. Def. Recommend. It's worth every penny of 49 a person

We had an amazing time with GoKayak! They gave us all the info ahead of time, were very flexible and organized in the planning process. When we actually got there, they were great about coaching me on how to kayak. We got to see dolphins up close and overall had a really fun morning. I researched heavily the kayak tours all over the state of VA and ultimately chose GoKayak because of their professionalism and great customer service! I would absolutely go again and can’t wait to do so! Some tips for the new kayaker researching tour options: -you will probably get wet, so bring a change of clothes just in case. Where we were (Broad Bay), there was a bathroom in the parking lot that has stalls and was a clean place to change. -Bring shoes you don’t mind walking in the water with. You have to walk into the water to get into the kayak. -We went in the beginning of April and even though it was a tad chilly outside, once I started kayaking I was glad I wasn’t wearing a jacket. Kayaking is an upper body workout for a beginner. :)

Absolutely exceptional experience. Me, my girlfriend, and my father went for a trip today. The guide (owner) was knowledgeable, fun, and safe. He showed us how to use the kayaks (my first time), made sure we were comfortable, and was very safe. We called him “momma duck” because he always took the outside of the group to make sure were were safe from other boats. We went all the way to the ocean and had the experience of a lifetime. Don’t even consider going anywhere else-this is THE place to go for a kayak experience!!

Poseidon Watersports Jet Ski Rental

We booked a trip with Go Kayak in Virginia Beach last Fall. We did the dolphin paddle out of Ruddee Inlet. My fiancée and I had so much fun and we enjoyed the exercise. We were able to go at our own pace and stop for little breaks. The instructor was incredible full of energy and one of the most stoked on life loves his job types of people you will ever meet. The kayaks were nice and easy to use and the life jackets were Clean and didn't smell of body odor of another person. We rounded the rock jetties at the mouth of the inlet and after a few strokes were greeted by a friendly school of dolphins. great experience def worth the money.

My husband and went Kayaking today and had a WONDERFUL time. The tour was amazing and the kayaking was phenomenal. This turn opened us up to so many things we want to explore further. Everyone should do this!!!!
