Honestly, signed up for this thinking it would be a little cheesy but would give us a good chance to see Portland and hear some history. We were very pleasantly surprised! Gordon was hilarious and informative, an overall excellent guide! We had a great time and learned some interesting history about the city. Highly recommend this tour!

We had fun seeing Portland’s historic areas and hearing it’s spooky history presented in a fun comedic style. Gordon was amazing and you could tell he is passionate about the tour and making sure everyone has a good time and is included. He even memorized about 20 attendees names and addressed everyone throughout his stories.

Gordon was so very entertaining and informative. He shared historical info along with ghostly tales. Our friends who are from Portland enjoyed it so very much. He said that Gordon presented an accurate account of the city’s history. In fact he was not going to come along with us to a “ghost tour” but thoroughly enjoyed himself. Thanks Gordon! You should check into the big stage!!! I hope you all get Gordon to show you around! He was awesome!

Gordon was a great tour guide, he is an incredible story teller! It was so cool to learn some local history and the legends associated with these places & events. The comedy aspect in the story telling was very engaging & really lightened the mood in these dark corners of Portland. 5 stars all the way!

This tour was awesome! My boyfriend and I booked this last minute and we were not disappointed. Gordon is a true storyteller and does such a great job of engaging everyone. It also doubles as a good historical tour of Old Port. I highly recommend this tour if you are in Portland and are looking for spooky vibes!

I took the tour this summer and had a great time. Our guide (Gordon) was friendly and entertaining. The tour took us around key point and hidden alleys of the Old Port with highlights from Portland haunted history.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the tour! We have been on ghost tours in many major cities and one of us was a ghost tour guide for years; we were impressed by Gordon's phenomenal charisma, historical detail, and realistic approach to the ghost stories he told. We wouldn't have asked for the tour to be any different! Great for the believer and skeptic alike, and was not too theatrical, silly, or too "out there." Well done and many thanks!

Gordon was an excellent guide for this walking tour! He blended history of the Old Port, some creepy vibes, and a bit of jokiness seamlessly. If you find yourself in the Old Port, this is a must!

We had such a good time on this tour! My 14 and 16 yr old were with us but there was another little girl on the tour, maybe 7 yrs old) who seemed to enjoy herself too. Gordon was so friendly and entertaining. It was silly and informative. I loved seeing some out if the way areas of the city. Highly recommended.

My husband and I took this walking tour and really loved it. It was interesting to see the Portland waterfront at night and hear the interesting stories about events (ghosts) that occurred in the past. Certainly, this is a must do sightseeing event when one visits Portland. The tour guide was so funny and informative about the area. We both had such a good time and would strongly recommend this to anyone. Two thumbs up!!!

We had such a great time on this tour! Gordon was very funny, and informative. He also took the time to learn all of our names, which i found extremely impressive. The actual content of the tour was a great mix of spooky tales, comedy, and the history of Portland. There weren't any parts of the tour where i felt bored, or anything but totally engaged in what Gordon was saying. As someone visiting for the first time, i feel like it was a great way to be introduced to this beautiful city. We will be returning to Portland next year and will definitely take the tour again!

My husband and I went on this tour with Gordon as our guide. It was an unusually cold night, but Gordon kept the tour lively and interactive. We really enjoyed ourselves. We learned a lot about the water district of Portland and the local history. We even followed Gordon's recommendation for more local "spirits" which helped keep the chill at bay! Great tour and great tour guide!
Lauren Hanson
Super fun tour on our first night in Portland! More historical than spooky, which is what I wanted. Gordon, our guide, is very funny, friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend to others and do it again! I loved that Gordon memorized all of our names and gave us a chance to tell our own ghost stories at the end of the tour. Don't forget to bring cash for a tip! Thanks Gordon! - your friends from South Carolina.

If you are in or around Portland, this tour is a "must do". It brings to life, the deeply troubling history of this colorful city. Entertaining enough to bring it's past residents around to revile in this well spoken and artfully illustrated story. The guild is nothing less than an urban shaman, in my opinion, come with an open mind and leave with a piece of the spirit of Portland.

The wicked walking tour was such a fun time. The tour guide Gordon was hilarious and a great story teller. My boyfriend and I had never been to Portland so the tour was a fun way to learn about some of the history or the city.

A really cool, relaxed tour from an actual witch. The tour provides insights into the history of witchcraft in Salem and helps participants understand the peaceful nature of witches and witchcraft.

What a great tour! My friends and I went on the first tour of the season while we were up in Portland for the weekend. Our tour guide, Gordon, was very entertaining and engaging as he lead us throughout the downtown area. It was great getting to learn a bit about the city's history as well as the numerous accounts of ghostly sightings. I never knew Portland was so haunted!

My friend and I were in Portland for a conference and of course all the historical tours are closed by the time we leave. In comes Wicked Walking Tours that led us through the town of Portland, weaving ghost stories and humor all the way. Of course for my next trip to Portland, I booked again and enjoyed it every bit as much as the first time. I've been to several ghost walking tours and this one is one of the best. Sometimes you have guides and other times you have people who have real talent telling a story. Gordon has real talent. Can't wait for my third trip to Maine and Wicked Walking Tours!
Dakotah Biller
I had a great time and truly appreciate the history of the city I learned from Gordon! He was awesome to tour with and I would 109% do it again!
Rachel Cara
We loved our walking tour with Gordon! He kept the tour exciting, funny, and spooky. We learned a lot of history and a lot of excellent lore, as well as how to navigate the downtown area of Portland. Gordon was an excellent tour guide, he learned everyone's names and made it a great environment. I'd love to join again!

I went on the walking tour with my new husband and some friends on my honeymoon and it was the best tour I've ever been on. It was so entertaining and engaging. The tour guide, Gordon, made the experience super fun. He was able to remember everyone's name on the tour flawlessly! I would highly recommend the tour to anyone visiting Portland, ME.
Delisa O'Brien
Gordon was amazing! I don't really like to do anything too scary so this tour was the perfect mix of humor and spooky history. Gordon made a group of strangers all feel welcome by addressing each of us by name (we weren't wearing name tags) and inviting us to share our own paranormal stories at the end. Make sure to wear comfortable and dress warmly, but I definitely recommend this tour.
Chad Trutt
Fantastic time! My wife and I always try to go on a 'haunted' walk for whichever city we visit and we've been on a lot. The Wicked Walking Tour did NOT disappoint. Gordon was amazing and had us either smiling or laughing whilst leaning a lot of creepy history about Portland Maine. We highly recommend this tour to any out of town guest or locals that want to have a good night out.
Matthew Lopiano
The tour was wickedly informative. Our tour guide Gordon, was a great story teller, a treasure trove of information, and incredibly kind and personable. A great mix of history about Portland, ME and spooky stories about the seaside town. The tour was full of interesting locations and atmospheric cobblestone streets. If you're in town and interested in history and the paranormal, this is a must.
Courtney Taylor
An absolutely amazing experience. Learned so much about Portland's history and Gordon was a phenomenal tour guide. Remembered everyone's names even though there were probably 30 of us! Stories were very cool. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone who will be or even lives in the area! Thank you!
Tara Studley
Gordon's ghost tour of Portland is awesome! I would highly recommend it to anyone. Gordon is a fabulous "ghost host" and his tour is a great mix of history, humor and horror. A very fun experience that should not be missed!
Bob Anthony
Very interesting and entertaining activity. Our guide impressed everyone in our group by demonstrating his strong memory by calling every by name. A fun history of Portlands old port area with a comedic twist. An easy less than a mile walk.

My girlfriend and I left last Thursday morning for a long weekend away in the Greater Portland Area, and even with all the incredible food and beautiful sights to take in, this was far and away our favorite part of the vacation. Our tour guide, Gordon, was absolutely incredible-- knowledgeable, hysterical, and an incredible storyteller. Along with creepy tales of supernatural Portland, we also learned a great deal of fascinating New England history, all of which was fascinating and new to us, two NYC-area natives. We have travelled a great deal, and have gone on walking ghost tours both home in New York and in other areas of the U.S., like Savannah, GA (one of our most haunted cities), but Portland's Wicked Walking Tour was easily the most enjoyable, most informative, and the creepiest!! If you're a fan of either the supernatural or just history in general, this one can't be missed!

My wife and I had a blast. Gordon's story-telling and demeanor are perfect for the job. Pleasant, funny, informative, and just gotta say - really impressed at how often he incorporated individual's names into the conversation. Fun stuff.

My husband and I visited Portland, Maine for the first time and going on the Wicked Walking Tour was our last activity before we went back home the following day.
Our tour guide was Gordan and he was FANTASTIC!
His energy, his storytelling! He used his entire body to tell the multiple stories that night (facial expressions, body language, accents). It was great! Highly entertaining as well as educational. He was also very personable by knowing our names and engaging with us in that way.
The experience made it so easy to share with family & friends and for them to learn something cool like why Portland, Maine is super haunted and why we shouldn't point at people.
Highly recommend going on this walking tour.

Gordon was a fantastic host for the evening and we had a blast! My wife and I love going on spooky tours all over the country whenever we can and Wicked Walking Tours stands out as one of our most favorite experiences.Thank you Gordon for a wonderful evening!
Sharon Lockridge
Gordon was amazingly funny, charismatic, and knowledgeable. He interacted with the group very well, and he even remembered our names. He really is entertaining! I would definitely hit his tour up while in Portland

Our family had so much fun on Gordon's tour! I love taking a ghost tour when I am traveling, and this one was tops! Gordon is so personal, memorizing everyone's name (amazing!), and kept me on my toes the whole tour through! Lots of laughing as well! Highly recommend!

I can't say enough positive things about this tour, so I'm posting on multiple different review sites. I've been going on ghost tours since I was 16/17 and my parents took me to St. Augustine, FL to visit a college (and I begged to go on a ghost tour). My daughter shares my passion for the supernatural and my husband tolerates it. This tour was awesome and even my skeptical husband was fully engaged (though he liked the "method actors" the best). Gordon was a wonderful tour guide with a perfect balance between comedic timing, dramatic flair, and historical information. I highly recommend this tour.

I live in Portland, but I needed to know what’s going on in this city in the realm of ghosts. This tour was delightful, and from the start, our guide Gordon was a vision: a true student of history. To be honest, before the tour, I dreaded the specter of comedy I knew would be part of the experience. Much to my surprise, Gordon’s schtick was solid, and it put everyone in high spirits. Even if you’re familiar, there’s a lot going on beneath the surface here. Now I have a much clearer vision of Portland in days of yore. Bravo!

My husband and I chose Portland for our honeymoon destination. The first evening there, we got dinner at De Millo's then walked over to the park for the Wicked History tour. Gordon was our tour guide. What was most impressive about him was that he memorized literally every single person's name on the tour right away. It actually distracted me a bit from the stories at points. Overall, this ranks pretty low on ghost tours we've been on for a couple of reasons: we didn't walk very far so we didn't get to see much of the city and the stories weren't that interesting or scary. I also tend to crave seeing an old hotel, graveyard/cemetery, or jail and we didn't have those on this tour. So, overall I'm giving 4 stars, although it's probably not fair to compare this to Savannah, Charleston, St. Augustine, New Orleans, Boston, or Salem. :)
Edited to add a response to owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to post such a detailed reply. We did research this tour prior to going, and read that we didn't go into any old buildings nor did we walk more than half a mile. It doesn't hurt to add this information here for future guests though. In short, just because we suspected this would be a 4-star tour going in doesn't mean it shouldn't be rated a 4-star tour.

Our tour guide Gordon was fantastic! He was very entertaining! Not as much Portland history as I was hoping for, but well worth the ticket price!

The WWT of haunted Portland was delightful in all ways. The tour Guide, Gordon, shares a wealth of information as well as entertaining insights of a little known Portland. Many attending the tour stuck around afterwards to visit and then it was time for ice cream. Highly recommended +++

My entire family loved this tour ! Our guide managed to reach the eight year olds and the seventy-year olds. It was well organized and paced smoothly. Being in the very scenic Old Port at the Christmas season was an unexpected highlight.
