My husband and I had an amazing experience on the Mount St. Helen’s tour. The views are absolutely stunning. Jeff is a wonderful tour guide and full of knowledge about the volcano and the surrounding areas. We really enjoyed the audio recordings he played of what happened during the eruption. We highly recommend this tour, you will not be disappointed. Jeff went above and beyond to exceed our expectations! Five stars all the way!

I am SO glad we found EcoTours of Oregon for our recent trip to Portland! Jeff was such a great tour guide and his passion for the areas we visited really came through which added to the experience.
On our recent trip my husband and I had the opportunity to join for both his Winery Tour in the Willamette Valley Countryside as well as the Mount Saint Helen’s Volcano Tour and loved both of them. Jeff is such a down to earth guy and SO knowledgeable. The tours are kept small, which helps to make them more personal and Jeff was more than happy to answer any questions we had throughout the day.
It was clear Jeff has gotten to know the owners of the wineries on a personal level over the years so we were treated well at them as a result and it was nice not having to deal with making reservations at the various wineries. We got to see a nice variety of wineries, learned a lot about the area in the process, and enjoyed a relaxing day because of Jeff handling the details.
The Mount Saint Helen’s tour was fascinating! Jeff shared many pictures during the ride to and from the volcano, including audio recordings from the day of the major eruption and interviews of people who had survived the blast, which really helped to make us feel like we were getting a first hand encounter while driving through the same areas being discussed. Jeff also brought along telescopes so he could point out really unique features of the volcano and grazing elks far in the distance that we never would have seen otherwise. Super cool!! Fortunately we lucked out with spectacular weather and viewing conditions but it was nice to know he was willing to adjust the timing and order of events for the day if needed to make sure we had the best possible view of the volcano.
Overall we loved both of these tours and can’t say enough good things about Jeff. We highly recommend EcoTours to anyone who has the opportunity to do some day trips from the Portland area. EcoTours offers several other tours in addition to the ones we did and I have no doubt they would all be equally great.
Thank you, Jeff, for showing us the beauty of the Northwest!

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Portland! We took the Multnomah Falls, Columbia Gorge Waterfalls, and Mt. Hood Loop tour. Jeff is very knowledgeable, both, in the ecology and history of the area. It was also super convenient to get picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Will definitely take another tour in the future.
Thank you Jeff!
Joe Vasquez
Jeff was awesome! Highlight of our trip. Made us feel like Lewis and Clark as we explored the Mt. Hood area. Highly recommended!

Our guide, Jeff did a great job touring my group of friends around the general area. He was extremely knowledgeable about a variety of topics. Highly recommend.

Great tour of Multnomah Falls, Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood. We never took a full day tour before and were a little apprehensive about the amount of time, but it was just about perfect. We got to see a lot of different places while not feeling like we were rushed from one to another. We would definitely take another tour with Jeff, he was very knowledgeable and clearly loves the area.
Andres Marmol
The wonders of the Oregon countryside can only be experienced properly through the carefully crafted guidance that Jeff provided. Not only were we properly informed on the history around us, but we were treated to an amazing experience with unforgettable views and extensive information. Would not choose anyone else if coming back.

We did the Multinomah/Mt. Hood loop tour during an off season but got lucky enough that the rain/snow was light enough to see the beautiful waterfalls and sights of Portland. Jeff was a great tour guide providing a lot of great information about the ecology and history of the area. Our tour really flew by. Because we only had 3 people, we covered the minimum so that we could go on the tour with Jeff. I'm glad that we were able to do so and I highly recommend it.

We took the Mount Saint Helens tour and Jeff was extremely knowledgeable about everything volcanoes and geology. He provided a wide variety of resources like pictures, charts, telescopes, and audio recordings that gave us great insight of the local area. He took us to an amazing lunch spot and gave us plenty of time to take pictures and enjoy ourselves. He is a super down to earth guy and would absolutely recommend this tour!

What an experience! Jeff puts thought into every detail of his tours. I took the Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls / Mount Hood "Loop" Tour and not only experienced so much, I learned a lot. The entire drive time is packed with local history and conservation. If I could rate this over 5 * I would! Will definitely be back to take one of his tours next time I'm in the area. Thank you for the wonderful tour, Jeff.

Went on a tour with parents in town, what an amazing experience. Our guide was supppppppper knowledgeable about everything and was very good at keeping a steady flow to the tour. Highly reccomend

An excellent and very personable full-day tour of the Columbia River Gorge and Mt Hood. Jeff did a wonderful job in all aspects of the tour including tailoring the information and focusing on items of interest from the groups reactions. The best thing was that this was not a large impersonal bus tour; at 10 people, it was just right!

I had wonderful/marvelous trip with Jeff on Mt. St. Helen's tour. Jeff informative & engaging with our intimate group. Once in lifetime trip!!. Beautiful scenery from Boston girl!! .you cannnot go wrong spending time with Jeff!! ...Jeff is the best!!

Having travelled extensively worldwide I was underwhelmed at the Mt St Helen’s volcanic tour, Jeff’s knowledge was good about the events of the 1980 eruption but delivery of the tour was a little amateur. As we we sitting right behind him, I was very aware of his interesting driving sometimes hands free, while he had to negotiate delivery of his paper based content which at some instances was paramount to dangerous driving. He would be better to run video or digital content or have a booklet for people to refer to while he talked. He failed to notice a small deer crossing the motorway to avoid hitting it and really didn’t see it. Saving grace for the tour was some specialist telescopic views he delivered to view close up on the crater. We did experience the same with another local tour we took, so we gathered that local small tours did not offer the same experience as professional tour operators but were run by enthusiastic retiring age men.

Jeff is an expert. Very professional. I went on the tour of the coast with about 9 other people I didn't know and Jeff made the experience very fun, very informative, and very safe. He's always prepared and punctual. Absolutely one of the best things I've done here during my stay in Portland.
Scott Rogers
Our family group of nine booked a private one-day tour to the Colombia River Gorge during our week-long trip to Portland in October 2022. Jeff was a great and informative host and we enjoyed the river scenery, waterfalls, hearing his stories, and visiting the Bonneville dam and a couple of wineries in the Hood River area.

It was our first trip out to Portland, OR and Jeff really made our trip memorable! We were debating between Eco Tours and one other spot. We are VERY happy we chose Eco Tours. It was worth the $150. Jeff was very knowledgeable tour guide, and knows his music! He took us to the best spots before and after our Whale Watching. The views were absolutely breathtaking! If you are looking for a place to go Whale Watching, Eco Tours with Jeff is the place to go! THANK YOU, JEFF!

My previous visit to Mount Saint Helen, by my own, was almost 20 years ago. I decided to book Mount Saint Helens Volcano Tour with EcoTours of Oregon and it was the best decision I could take. Jeff was a very knowledgeable guide who, from the beginning of the trip, introduced us into the history involving Mt. St. Helen National Monument and how important it was to understand certain past volcanic events and to predict future ones. This also made the visit to the Johnston Ridge Observatory easy and more enjoyable. Moreover, Jeff’s explanation made me realize new volcanic events that occurred after my previous visit (it wasn’t my bad memory, the view had changed after almost 20 years!). The trip was very pleasant, complemented with stops at several viewpoints as well as a stop for lunch at the Coldwater Lake picnic area, with plenty time to have lunch and to walk the trail to admire the lake. It was a beautiful sunny and very hot day (for the Northwest) and Jeff was always offering bottles of water. Jeff, thanks for so wonderful experience.

We had an excellent day with Jeff on his Columbia Gorge Waterfalls/Mount Hood loop tour! Jeff is very knowledgeable about the local history and the ecology of the Northwest. We had great stops to see the spectacular scenes from of the Columbia River and Gorge. The day was capped off with a trip to the Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood. The price was very reasonable, the van comfortable, the conversation and information perfect, and the timetable was prompt. I only wish we had more time in the area to take a Mt. St. Helens or Winery Tour. Hopefully, we will have a chance to use Jeff again on our next trip to the area. I highly recommend EcoTours of Oregon and Jeff the owner/operator/guide! You won't be disappointed.

We spent a wonderful day touring the north coast of Oregon with Jeff. He was very flexible and adapted the tour to our schedule, leaving early to allow us to return to Portland on time for an appointment. Jeff was very knowledgeable and very well prepared on a wide range of topics, from the history of the region, to its current economy and natural history. We highly recommend this tour and Jeff as a guide.
Brent Novosad
My wife and I hired Jeff to take us out to some wineries in the Willamette Valley and it was a fantastic experience! He was waiting for us downstairs at our hotel promptly at the time we agreed upon, the van was great (clean and comfortable), and he provided a ton of great information about the area not only on our hour-ish ride down but also between all of our stops and on our way back.
We mostly picked our own places but given Jeff's extensive knowledge of wine in general and the wineries and winemakers around the Portland/Willamette area I would absolutely trust him to make us a great itinerary if we ever make it back that way.
We looked at a few different services and EcoTours ended up being the first and ultimately only one we called, and it was a great decision!

My parents and I went on two tours with Jeff. The first one was to see Mount Hood, and the Waterfalls. It was breathtaking and Jeff really knew everything about the environment and nature in the area. He was very efficient and punctual with everyone’s schedules as well.
The second tour was to the Oregon coast. To say it was spectacular would be an understatement. Jeff knew all of the spots, both popular and hidden. My favorite part was this private trail in the woods that came out to some amazing views.
Jeff is super down to earth, easy going but also very professional. I would highly recommend taking a tour with him if you are ever visiting Oregon. It was worth every penny!
Beth Weaver
I took the Northern Oregon Coast Tour, and the experience exceeded my expectations. Guide Jeff is very pleasant and made sure everyone in our group was comfortable. His depth of knowledge is impressive! I look forward to doing another tour with this company next time I visit Portland.
Justin Stevenson
Took the Multnomah Falls/Mount Hood Loop Tour with Jeff. We had an amazing trip. Jeff was very knowledgeable of the whole area and constantly kept us up to speed with interesting facts as we drove between the locations. We got ample time to stop and take in the sites at all of the locations. Jeff is very easy to work with, and the small tour van is very comfortable to ride in as well! Next time we are in the region we plan on taking his Winery tour!
Reece Akhtar
The Pinot Patrol wine tour was fantastic. Jeff was an excellent tour guide, friendly and knowledgable, he created a relaxed and enjoyable experience. The wineries were fantastic. If you're visiting Portland, I highly recommend this!
Jill Rodriguez Lopez
We had 2 great tours with Jeff of Eco Tours of Oregon. The winery tour in Willamette Valley is must for any wine lover visiting Oregon. If you have time for a second tour, then you will not be disappointed in the Columbia Gorge/Multnomah Falls/Mt Hood loop tour. Jeff’s knowledge of Oregons history is amazing!
Peter Tierney
Knowledgeable tour of the Mount St Helens volcano and surrounding area. The trip out may appear long, but the guide talks about the 1980s event and you will be at the mountain before you know it. Entertaining and informative with plenty of picturesque views.
Jessica Smith
Had a great winery tour through the valley. Jeff is very friendly and knowledgeable of Oregon, wine and so much more. We stopped at three very different wineries, but I loved them all. The lunch options were great as well. Jeff also went above and beyond to help me find a tour for the next day to see the Columbia Gorge with a different tour company. I would highly recommend. Thanks for a great time, Jeff!
Linda Stalnaker
I took the Multnomah Falls /Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls Mt Hood Loop tour with Jeff as the driver and guide. Spent a wonderful day seeing all the beauty Portland has to offer. The sun was shining that day so that was a bonus. Jeff was very knowledgeable about all the sights. Let us stop and take pictures, gave us time to enjoy the sights. I would recommend this tour.
Iselle Obregon
My boyfriend and I went to Portland and we used Ecotours for the Multanomah/ Mt hood tour and we loved it! Oregon has beautiful sites and we wouldn’t have been able to see if it weren’t for this tour. Jeff was awesome and very nice and knowledgeable. He even brought out his binoculars so we can use them. It was just us and another couple so i liked that its a small tour. Highly recommend if you stay in Portland and want to get away for the day.

Great tour! We took the Columbia River Gorge/Mt. Hood Day Tour. We visited so many breathtaking places that we would have never experienced by our own vehicle. Enjoyed the historical and ecological information all along the way. Jeff was an amazing and experienced tour guide, offering pictures, both historical and contemporary, to inform the guests on the tour. When visiting the area, guests MUST enjoy this Ecotours Day Tour!

8/27/2021 - I spent the day with Jeff, doing the "Columbia Gorge, Waterfalls, Mount Hood Loop", and was blown away by his knowledge, expertise, experience, and hospitality. Jeff is a walking encyclopedia of the history of this region, the geology, the volcanology of the area, as well as current events happening today. He easily answered all of our questions, pointed out interesting details along the way, and truly had us all prepared for what we were going to see and do. We felt safe in his care, and learned so much more than we'd ever expected. Truly, Jeff is the guide you want, so matter which of the regions you'd like to see. He'll make your trip an outstanding and memorable experience you'll never forget!
Aileen Lau
Jeff was a great tour guide who clearly knew a lot about Oregon and America in general! And it was also clear that Jeff genuinely wanted us to have a good time and see some interesting things. Definitely recommend this tour if you're interested in seeing things esp wildlife that you probably wouldn't see on your own and if you want to go on a tour that feels more personalised with thought put into it!

This was my second time booking with Jeff because I had such an awesome first experience. My husband and I recently moved to Portland and have already had some visitors. Not being from the area, wine country (there are 500+ vineyards in Oregon!) can be overwhelming. It was so nice to sit back, relax and drink with our friends while Jeff toured us around to some great boutique and staple Oregon wineries. He is both informative and relaxed and has great connections everywhere he goes. He really does a good job making sure to ask people what they like and delivering an experience that appeases everyone in the group. He is SO knowledgeable, polite, professional and has a really cool vibe. I don't see any reason to not continue to book him for all upcoming wine country excursions. Highly highly recommend him!
Amanda Miller
The wine tour was a total blast! Jeff led the tour and he was great; very informative and funny. I appreciate that we went to 3 smaller wineries, they all had amazing wines and great atmosphere! Will definitely be going on more tours as the weather gets nice!

Today was a perfect wine tour day - due greatly to Jeff. He is incredibly knowledgable of the area and the wines. If you're particularly interested in a certain type of wine - he's able to switch gears and find the perfect vineyard for you. Today, was our second tour with Jeff so while he took the majority of our group to one place we had been before - we told Jeff we wanted to try something new, and he dropped us off and united us back with the group after our tasting. Honestly such a great energy and fun human. You'll love it!
Hilary Clark
A great wine-tasting tour. Jeff was knowledgeable, flexible and took us to interesting vineyards with great wines. He suggested pre-ordering and picking up lunch at the start of the tour - food was great! We then ate this at the second vineyard, outside, enjoying a lovely view. Altogether, we tasted about 15 wines. A great way to experience part of the wine country.

A museum and adventure all in one. The Mt. Saint Helens tour was a wonderfully memorable experience and one of a kind. You will learn about the history of the mountain, the science of the ecosystem and the people of the surrounding area. Shout out to Guide Jeff for catering to everyones needs and interests and answering any questions we had, he was brimming with knowledge of the mountain and the area in general. Would definitely book another tour with Eco Tours!
Susan Smart
I took the “Loop” tour to see Mt Hood/Multnomah Falls/Columbia Gorge Waterfalls. Jeff shared his wealth of knowledge during the entire day which made the trip to these breathtaking spots both beautiful and educational. I highly recommend this tour and would not hesitate booking additional EcoTours with Jeff!
Shelley Lomastro
We took the Northern Oregon Coast tour one day and the Multnomah Falls/Columbia Gorge Waterfalls/Mt. Hood Loop tour the next day. Our guide, Jeff, was so knowledgeable about the history of the area and about ecology. We highly recommend this tour company.
Akiko Revay
We loved the tour. Jeff was very knowledgeable and helpful. We were able to plan ahead and choose the wineries that we wanted to visit. The Red Hills Deli was perfect for lunch and we loved having everything arranged for us by Jeff. We will definitely be booking another tour soon.
Jacqueline Edwards
Jeff picked us up at hotel. We went on the Mount St. Helens tour. He is friendly and has your safety in mind! I felt safe with his driving. He had pictures to show of before and after of the mountain and he had the pictures numbered and would have us look at the pictures of that area as we entered the site. He had cds that he played along the way from actual recording made to the police department during the volcanic activity. Also recording of peoples comments after. He made many beautiful scenic stops and never rushed us. We could stay as long as we liked. We made a stop to buy our lunch to take to a scenic site for a picnic. God blessed us with a beautiful day for our trip! I would highly recommend this trip.... it was amazing!

Jeff is Awesome! He is very detailed and timely..😉 He has facts about the entire state both past and current. I enjoyed this tour, you are the best Jeff! Thanks for making my vacation a delight. I'll contact you again when I'm back in Oregon; it is a Beautiful state. Blessings ** …

This tour is not to be missed. Jeff is extremely knowlegable about the area and has a lot of audio from people that were communicating on the day of the blast, trying to figure out what happened. Listening to this while traveling through the area where it happened really makes a person feel like they are there as it happened. I highly recommend this trip!
Jessica Sinacore
Traveling from NY to Portland, I was unaware of who to tour through- but I do not regret using Eco Tours one bit! I had been recommended by the Visitor Information Center in Pioneer Courthouse Square, to use Jeff, who has wine experience of 25 years! The views were stunning, the wine was great, and it definitely rounded up my trip. Definitely a must do!
Terry Whatley
Excellent 5 days with Eco-Tours of Oregon. Jeff was a great guide, very knowledgable and informative. Our group of 6 had a great time exploring Mt. Saint Helens, the waterfalls, Astoria and the coastline of Portland.
Jonathan Drew
If you are visiting the area and want to sample some wineries, you can leave it all to Jeff.
He is extremely knowledgeable but not a wine snob at all. Just a super down to earth guy with great customer service.
He polled the tour members on what we liked, and there was a good give and take between him steering us to particular vineyards and us letting him know what we were interested in. We did three vineyards and a tasting room, plus another tasting room during our lunch break.
Overall, we thought it was a great value for an all-day tour that keeps you from risking the drive yourself !
Karen Tinlin
You will love this tour guide. Knowledgeable, personable, friendly and just the perfect personality for this job. We took the Mount Hood loop tour and it was visually amazing and enhanced by the information the guide, Jeff, gave about what we were seeing. Hightly recommend.
Jennifer Conner (Jenny)
Had the tour of our lifetimes so far. Jeff was very knowledgeable about the ecology of the area and safety of our group. Recommend and would use him again next time we are in the area!

I did the Columbia River Gorge/Mt Hood loop tour, and what a day! Saw so many beautiful places, and had plenty of time at each location. Jeff was super knowledgeable and made the tour well worth it! Thanks 😊 …

This was a simply amazing full day tour. Jeff picked my girlfriend and I up on time from our downtown Portland hotel in the 15 passenger van. We proceeded to pick up another couple at a nearby hotel and then a short trip to suburbia to get a large group that rented a house. We had no idea where to go and just wanted to taste some excellent pinot noir, the large group had requests and Jeff was so knowledgeable that he discussed their choices to let them know which vineyards had the best year so that the experience not only tailored to their desires but would surpass it. We ended up visiting Elk Cove, Argyle, Willamette Valley Vineyards & Winter Hill. The lunch stop was also next to Ponzi tasting room, across from Argyle, so my girlfriend and I stopped in there also. Some places prefer a single payment from Jeff for a reduced rate which he adds to the bill which is great. In order to taste all the amazing wines without getting wasted my girlfriend and I often split a tasting and both Jeff and they vineyards were cool about it and actually recommend it. It's all about flavor. Settling up at the end of the day was totally smooth. This is by far the most affordable way to get an exceptional day at the vineyards. Keep in mind that this is a one man show so if you don't get Jeff on the phone during the day call back again after 6pm PST.

Jeff is a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable about history and topics of Oregon. Highly recommend this tour or any tours Jeff guides.

We just got back from touring four wineries in the Willamette Valley--we would never have been able to find these on our own (only one was located on a main road), and they were all excellent. Jeff chose the perfect restaurant for lunch (and arranged the schedule so we had time for dessert). He also offered a quicker lunch option for those who wanted to do more wine tasting. We're planning on making this an annual tradition.

Went on a wine tour leaving the choice of the wineries to the guide, Jeff. He took a poll of the group and decided on where we would go. Be prepared to give your preference if you have one. All the wineries we went to specialized in Pinot (Gris and Noir). I don't know if there were other types of wineries in the Willamette Valley. Only one of our wineries had a Chardonnay option. It could very well be that there are only Pinot options in the area. We were exposed to the full gamut from low to high quality wines.
Be forewarned, the wineries do not provide snacks so if you need something in your stomach to compensate for the alcohol effects bring something to munch on like pretzels. Our group asked Jeff to stop off at a quick mart to get some snacks which helped greatly. Funny about this as we've always been offered snacks at wineries in other areas of Oregon.
While in the van, Jeff offered lots of interesting facts about the area and history of the wine business in Oregon. He played interviews and offered articles to read on the topic of wineries in Oregon.
However, once you get to the wineries you're on your own. My friends felt uncomfortable about always having to be the one to introduce our group members to the winery staff instead of having the guide pave the way. Jeff usually dropped us off at the door and then moved the van which left us to do the introductions. (Having discussed this with Jeff, he promised to make some changes so that his involvement in guiding the group went further than time in the van.)
The Bistro we ate at for lunch had excellent food but took VERY long to get our food and bill to us (90 minutes). Normally this would be fine but we were on a schedule and had a simple meal that didn't merit such a length of time. We sat around quite a bit from waiting to have our order taken, receiving the order and then getting and paying the bill. It seems we were forgotten. Jeff kept showing up expecting us to be done but not intervening which would have sped things up a bit, I would think. It had something to do with our being a group. When we had entered the restaurant we were asked if we were all together by the restaurant staff to which we answered that we were thus they seated us together. We thought nothing of it until later on when things took so long and then with the one-check policy - they gained greatly by our mistake.
Sitting together was a bit of a mistake in terms of how the restaurant (Bistro at Ponzi) handled our check. Our group of 7 people were only allowed one check as this was the policy of the Bistro. That meant we had to divide it up ourselves as well as deal with the pre-determined tip amount. If we had separated as a group we could have given less of a tip based on the quality of service. (Again, in my discussion of this with Jeff, he stated that he had told us that he had made reservations for us at the restaurant for each of us to have our own table. That was lost on us - I only remembered him saying that he had made reservations for us. In the future, the mistake of being seated together will hopefully be avoided by Jeff's accompanying us in entering the restaurant explaining who we were so that the staff knew to honor his reservations.)
In summary, the tour was fine but not great. We felt a bit forgotten by Jeff receiving no oversight once we reached our destination be it a winery or the restaurant. Jeff is a very nice man and knows his wine history. The discussion we had about our unhappiness with certain aspects of the tour will likely result in changes that will most definitely benefit future groups that take his tours.

I did the Columbia Gorge/Mt Hood Loop. This trip was fantastic. The guide, Jeff, provided So Much info on on a wide variety of topics. I like to do guided tours in order to learn more about what I'm seeing, and this day certainly provided that. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
