Super easy to book online. Easy to access equipment. The area is very nice to ride around. One note the bike seats are not super comfortable for the casual bike rider. We will return to rent kayaks next time.

Fantastic service, I called the night before and was told I could pay upon arrival. When they say 24/7,they mean it. The owner was super friendly and answered all my questions even helping us with the loading and unloading process. As someone with disabilities this made my experience very accessible. The owner also mentioned that they are pet -friendly as long as your furry friend has their own life jacket for water safety. Will definitely be coming back to this rental shop.

Found a Groupon ($20 for two for an hour) for SUP & had a wonderful time. Called the day before to make an 8am reservation (faster than contacting via the website), we were a tad late finding parking but the owner was very laid back. We took our time, chatted, & never felt like we were in a rush or in a strict time constraint. He took the time to show us how to properly paddle & "rules of the lake." Super easy going experience, felt comfortable & trusted, & will definitely go back 😊 When looking for parking & the building, the office is on the side (not visible from head on). So when you come from under the bridge off of College, follow into lakefront parking to the left & look for open doors & paddle boards outside

Chad and Sarah the owners were always kind and made feel like getting VIP service. Chad was willing to wait after closing hours. Pricing is very fair. Location is 1 minute from the water and they will take the board for you. For sure will come back next year.

On a scale of 1-10, this fun place is a SOLID 12! They have a large assortment of kayaks & stand-up’s, plus this big green monster of a thing called Megaladon-(party size stand up flotilla thing). The guys are very nice & courteous; plus hard working. They went back & forth with groups of people, hauling kayaks like crazy. I didn’t see a tip jar? The night kayaking is bomb! It’s so beautiful & peaceful w the lights, the bridges & meeting other folks out on the water. This is a GREAT PLACE to rent, as we all had a super fun time! The prices were cheaper than others too. We have visited Phoenix several times in the past, and my wife has actually lived here. We have not been privy to this establishment until today. We were not actually looking for anything in particular, but noticed that this is so well located directly on the river and in the downtown Tempe area we checked it out. The owner was very cordial and explained the bikes very thoroughly to us. We were interested in the electric models and had not used those before. He explained all the features, and went so far as to give us a very detailed Google route to follow that would occupy the hour of rental time. Heath was amazing, very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and made all the difference for us in choosing to rent these bicycles. Highly recommended, great location, very economical.

5 stars! We rented two stand-up paddle boards, one of us being a first timer. Seamless experience from start to finish... we got our boards, a little instruction and some help launching off. We had so much fun on the lake! Weather was great, we were happy to meet friendly people — and even some wildlife — out on the lake. Will definitely go back again soon. Love that it's available 24/7 !!! Rates were awesome. I originally ordered 3 boards the day before. However due to unfortunate circumstances on the day of but the other 2 people canceled on me. I called to cancel the 2 other boards and they issued me a refund, with no problems 😊 I'd definitely recommend them to anyone and I'll use them again if I go again!!

Great experience . When we arrived all of our kayaks were ready for us, the kid kayaks were the perfect size for my 7 and 9 year old. Very fun experience . Staff was friendly and helpful. We reserved 90 minutes which was plenty of time for our group.

This place is awesome!!!!!! My husband bought me a SUP for a wedding gift in December. This is the second paddle board rental company we have used at Tempe Town Lake in the last few weeks. Our experience at the first place was NOT GOOD. So, thankfully we found Northshore! So friendly, lots of parking, great rates, a place to change inside with bathroom, and they will hold personal belongings. My husband rented a board on Easter and I put my board in and we had a great time and experience. I went to the marina today by myself and put my board in, about 50 feet out, 1/2 my paddle fell off and sunk (user error and of course the important part) After making it to the dock, I went to buy a new paddle at Northshore. I told them my situation and they let me use one of theirs for free!!!! Great customer service!!!! We will never go to that "other" place again. Will definitely be bringing friends and family back!

Had such a wonderful experience! It was my first time out on Tempe town lake and my first time dealing with this business but they were amazing! I took my boyfriend out for his birthday and everything went smoothly. We rented a pedal boat, unfortunately the pedals broke but we called the shop and the sweetest man came to get us. I thought it was a ruined day until he offered us a 2 person kayak! I have to say it was so much fun! More fun than the boat. At the end he generously gave us a refund and said our time was on him. Unexpected but the best customer service I have ever received. I rarely give reviews but I was blown away, highly recommend this place!

A must do when in Tempe !! A great experience and value :) We did the bike tour and everything was first rate ! Huge thank you to Heath - he made the trip balance with just the right amount of stops and cool info. 😎 The bikes are perfect with strong battery power, basket for drinks and phone etc - and pedal assist. It was a breeze to get around. The handling was a walk in the park - LOL I mean like a ride in the park ! Lots of joy going on here !

My friend and I went kayaking a few days ago and we had a fantastic time. We initially went to go paddle boarding but we were set up for kayaking. The gentleman who helped us was so welcoming and provided great service. The staff here is amazing and give great instructions for first timers! We will be back again for sure!

Had the best experience! The staff was so laid back and chill. The location is right on the water so you don't have to load up paddle boards or anything in your car. The shop was super cute and nice. The river was beautiful to float on. But overall the customer service and experience was top notch.

It sure was fun. The guys were very friendly and helpful we will certainly be back. Go early. We went at noon and that wasn't so bad but getting packed up and into the hot car at 130 that sucked, plus the dock, the bridge, the bumpers were so hot glad we took our flip flops on the paddle board. We used the Groupon deal also.

I recently organized paddle board rentals with North Shore Water Sports for six ladies to do a sunset paddle on Tempe Town Lake. The owner made our entire experience wonderful! He met us at the designated time, ensured the boards were at the lake and lined up ready to go. After a brief safety review, we were off. So much fun! We can’t wait to go back and do it again.

Great experience.... From the time you make your reservation.... until the time you say goodbye. I had to reschedule and Heath was very accommodating. Heath gave great instructions and tips. He didn't leave the dock until we both were sure I knew what I was doing (which was a good idea when your a 54 year old women who has only done this one other time). I felt very comfortable on the paddle board ( I didn't even tip over..yippee). It's a good work out. Yet relaxing and fun. His shop is clean and the equipment in great shape. We rented kayaks today with zero hassle. The kayaks were in good shape, the pricing was competitive, and the service we received from the gentleman tending the store was helpful and personable. My slight complaint is that there was a distinct smell of mildew in my kayak, presumably from the PFD. I hope the company looks into resolving this issue in the near future.

I am going to rent a kayak here for a friend to go along with me because the owner of this shop helped me with my paddle one day - just out of the goodness of his heart. I didn’t know him or that he had a shop there, and he just took my paddle to his shop and fixed it - didn’t say anything about his shop or try to promote it. I found out about it later from his friend. A real nice guy!

My friends, kids and I, LOVE Northshore. We’ve been coming almost every Sunday for months for paddle boarding. Chad and Heath are awesome, funny guys and have enough equipment for large groups, take reservations and even have bikes. After just 1 time on the SUP board I knew this was my thing. I come and board alone, with groups and with my kids (11yrs and 4yrs) and we always have a killer time. Get the membership! It’s so worth it!

I met Ray and Julie (the owners) and had a great talk with them about their business. I am a really big dude and they did not have a stand up paddle board big enough for me. We tried to make it work but after about a half an hour it was apparent it was not going to happen. They were very cool and they just said go ahead and take your pick of anything else that we want to make sure you have a good experience! That's especially true considering that I was there on a Groupon! They really went out of their way to make sure that me and the people that I was with had a great time, and we did! Ray and Julie supplied everything we needed including our flotation gear. You can even grab a quick snack there in case you forgot your Gatorade at home. We rented the stand up paddle board and two person kayak for an hour. The time went by so fast we really wish we had planned to spend more time on the lake it was that much fun.

We did a Groupon for 90 minutes of stand up paddle boarding. My friend cut her foot on a rock in the river and at first it didn't hurt, but while we were on the boards it got worse and started swelling. When we had to walk back up he was very helpful in getting her things to clean the wound and to help take care of it. He was very kind the whole experience and his prices were great! I would definitely recommend him!

My son and I decided to tryout the kayaks on our trip to Northshore WaterSport Rentals. The service was quick and we got onto the water without a problem soon after. We spent time exploring Tempe Town Lake and even found a small beach to stretch our legs for a few minutes. We had a great experience at Northshore WaterSport Rentals. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and although they were experiencing a power outage they figured out a work-around to get the paperwork taken care of, take payment (very reasonable pricing, by the way), and get us on our boards quickly. Chad gave us a quick lesson on paddle boarding as we got started and we had a great time on the lake.

Awesome place to grab kayaks and/or SUP and head out on the lake. We rented 2 kayaks and went out for about 2 hours which was the right amount of time. We got to explore the mill bridges and relax. Being on the water makes it a bit cooler then the rest of the valley so a very fun thing to do early morning before it gets too hot. Make sure and go early and get in line as it takes some time to get the boats and SUP down to the lake for everybody.

This past weekend was the perfect weather to be outside so my girlfriend and I went on a double date to Northshore WaterSport Rentals and had a great time. We used a GroupOn to do 4 Stand up paddle board rentals for one hour. Our group consisted of two veteran stand up paddle boarders and two first time paddle boarders and they had no issues standing on the boards provided. Very good quality equipment. We met the owners and they were more than friendly offering a refreshing water/soda at the end. I would highly recommend anyone who wants to gain a new perspective of Tempe Town Lake. We were looking to rent standup paddle boards for some fun on the lake. After going to another place to rent and finding we were unable to, we did a quick search and found Northshore Watersports, and we were glad we did. The owner of the shop was very friendly and eager to help us get out on the lake. He set up our paddles for each of us, got our boards down to the water, got us all set up and sent us out on the lake. He even provided us a bluetooth speaker to link to a phone so we could listen to music while out on the water. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the lake, and on our return to Tempe, we'll definitely return to Northshore to rent again. Thanks for all your help!!

Sup and Kayak rentals were great, located on the side of Vela. Opened right on time at 8:00 am. We were in the water by 8:05 am. Chad and Heath were very friendly and helpful! We rented 2 paddle boards. Loved the experiance. Relaxing and a workout at the same time. Great price and good equiptment. Lake is awesome.

Wow! This place was awesome with above and beyond customer service! Chad (I believe that was his name) was so accommodating, considerate, generous, and helpful! We were already surprised with how cheap the kayak rentals were to begin with, but the customer service was like no other. We initially planned on renting a single kayak so we had exact cash for that (we did not want to take credit cards or additional cash on the kayak), however, last minute we decided to rent 2 single kayaks. When we were paying we did not have enough cash, so Chad gave us an automatic 10% discount. With the discount, our cash still didn't make it, so he gave us 20% discount. Lol we were still missing 13 cents and my dad said it was ok that we would walk over to the car to get more cash. But Chad insisted on "tipping" us 13 cents hahaha such a nice guy. We accepted but after out rentals, we went to go get cash to tip him. Thank you Chad!!!

Do not trust this company. They steal your money while storing your kayak then they destroy it. After destroying the seat on my 700 dollar kayak they made it right. Still not happy about the seat and the damage though.

There were 5 of us. We rented 4 paddle boards & a Kayak. It was our 1st time renting from Northshore. It is located off of College on the bottom floor of the complex. It is conveniently located near the parking lot & the boat launch. They were both super friendly & helpful. They moved all of the equipment from the shop to the water & back for us. we will be renting from them again.
