Reviews of FreeWheelin' Bike Tours & Rentals
Cheryl Moestadja
Ryan, the owner was fantastic and very helpful. The bike was great and comfortable with great stability. I was able to go all around the city and see all the highlights from the Garden District, City Park, several cemeteries and French Quarter. It's a fun way to explore the city by bike. Ryan also created a map especially for bikers which was very useful and easy to read. I would highly recommend anyone to order a bike from him and explore the city at your own pace.
Stuart Sayre
Great trip led by a very knowledgeable local I've been to New Orleans many times but learned the most about the city from this bike tour. The city is flat and the bikes are smooth rolling cruisers so it's an easy ride not difficult at all. They picked a good route there was no issues with traffic.

If your looking for a great experience, look no more! FreeWheelin was amazing from start to finish with our big group of 12. Teddy was so informative and super fun! I would do this tour over again and again. We did the Creole & Cresent tour which was 3.5 hours, it sounds long but with the little stops it went by quick! Thank you Teddy and FreeWheelin for your amazing tour.

Lovely way to get to know the city. The narrative gives a slightly different perspective of New Orleans!
Just wished the tour guide spoke slower as I had to jump over his slang already.
Jami Nielsen
We had a fantastic time on our bike tour today! Our local tour guide was amazing, friendly, and super knowledgeable. It was the perfect way to spend the afternoon and a great way to see the city.
Amanda Howard
We just did the Creole & Crescent Tour with Teddy last week!
I was a repeat customer and it was so cool to have the same guide as when I did my first tour 7 years ago. Teddy is so knowledgeable about the city & its history and you can see his pride in his hometown shine through during the tour. He was very respondent to the fact that we all don't bike regularly and kept a good pace for all of us. It was a great way to see a lot of the city and hear details you wouldn't have known any other way! 5/5 recommend!

What an incredible ride!
We’ve visited this sacred city numerous times but have never experienced it like this! By far one of my favorite NOLA experiences!!
Our guide was easygoing, thoughtful, and highly knowledgeable. As average riders, we felt safe and comfortable at every turn, and made several stops in the light, refreshing rain.
We will most certainly return to Freewheelin’ for other tour options.
Thank you guys, for your incredible service to your community!

AMAZING! The owner and guide were extremely friendly and helpful. We've taken bike tours in New Orleans before, but none compared to the "BEYOND BOURBON" tour that they offer. The guide was extremely well versed in negotiating the busy traffic, probably because she was New Orleans born and raised! We recommend this tour to anyone in the area for a day, and we will be taking it again!

The absolute best recommendation I can provide. Teddy took my wife and I on a tour that was part bike, part scenic, part history, part cultural, part food, part architectural, part personal, but all eye-opening. I am recommending this place to all of my friends and family that I know visiting the city. Take this opportunity to move away from the purely tourist parts of the city and see the locations and people of Nawlins. Visit Central Park, which is larger than the same name in NYC. Try the Tigerblood snowball with condensed milk. Learn about the Southern Live Oaks that are on the National Registry and the true power of a diverse people and population that coexist with “southern hospitality”. See the visual levels between neighborhoods that had water ankle vs chest deep. All of this while having a few laughs with a guy with family history rooted in New Orleans (multiple generations).
I could write so much more, but just go and experience it for yourself.

Excellent! We’ve done this ride once before & decided to return this visit as we were with a friend & history buff who was in NO for the first time. Teddy was great ~ enthusiastic, informative, definitely not completely objective, but that’s part of the beauty I think, of having a guide who has lived in a location all their life. How can there not be a bit of personal touch? Keeps riders safe, asks “how’s everyone doing?” multiple times throughout. During check in & bike fitting they make it sound a little scary, handling these bikes, but it’s good; if you have any decent familiarity with a bicycle you can do this. I’m more of a neighborhood biker, not in traffic with cars, but didn’t feel unsafe sharing the road with cars during this ride. Last time we did it, we had our kids with us, ages 16, 13. Highly recommend!
Jenny Strange
These guys are awesome!! This is the best bike tour in the city - we've done it twice! The bikes are easy to use, comfortable. Teddy was an excellent guide, fun and knowledgeable. The route takes you around a good variety of NOLA. You've gotta do this if you come to NOLA
Theresa Parlette
We love guided bike tours of the cities we visit & this was one rates with the best of them. Our guide was from a 15 generation New Orleans family & was extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend for a great view of the city you won’t get if you only hit Bourbon St & the French Quarter.
Therese Sibon
This was PERFECT! The bikes were great and made it a joy to see New Orleans in a way that you could never access on foot or by car. Ryan was incredibly helpful, fitting the bikes, giving us added directions. We did the self guided tour and all of us had a great time -- the maps were fun and informative. I have been telling everyone to do the FreeWheelin'Bike tour-- it was a blast!!
Cara H.
This bike tour was a refreshing treat, almost as refreshing as the snowball treats we got on the tour. Winding through the backstreets, front streets and epic parks, Teddy our guide, revealed the honest, raw, and beautiful side of the one of a kind city of New Orleans. "Treat them like family, and they will treat you like family" he said about the resilient people of this place. Thank you for making us feel connected in a deeper way! 10/10 would reccomend: )
Stefano Peralma
Ryan runs a very smooth operation. We rented the bikes for 8 hours for a very reasonable price. The pickup was smooth and he gave us a few tips on the best places to see and paths to take. Despite the location change he made it easy to find. Bikes come with a lock and helmet upon request. Definitely recommend.
Bertie Barber
The tour was informative on all aspects of New Orleans history and lifestyles. The ride was safe and the entire group was kept together and safe at all times. There were times to rest along the route. If you are planning a trip to New Orleans make this your first stop. You will not regret it. Thanks for starting my week off right with your tour.
Donna Mcallister
We took the Creole and Crescent tour a week ago and had a great time! Teddy was knowledgable, approachable and a lot of fun! We took the tour our first day in the city and it was a great overview of the New Orleans. I highly recommend this tour and the bikes were great too! Thanks again for for the tour!!
Susanne Ashby
Favorite tour we did in NOLA! Teddy was an incredible guide. Many fun and informative stops throughout. Loved stopping for a little treat half way through, as well. Highly recommend this tour!
Ben Willoughby
Great tour! This is my first time visiting New Orleans and Teddy was great; informative and enthusiastic. Kept checking in to make sure everyone was comfortable too. I definitely recommend this and would do it again!
Joe McPherson
Great tour, our guide teddy was a champion. True local, who gave the history of New Orleans and also gave plenty of great advice on where to go for great food and activities to do. Highly recommend.
Kelly Campbell
This is THE tour in New Orleans. Third time taking it with a different set of friends. I will continue to usher visiting friends through. Gives you an overall history of the city with wonderful stops along the way. Highly recommend.
Alejandro Balmaseda
This is a great family business and Ryan was just wonderful. All tours are guided by locals so before you do anything in the city do a couple of them and New Orleans will open to you. They will show you the real city and the best places to go... and believe me is not Bourbon Street.
Alina Simmonds
My boyfriend and I took a tour with Teddy and we had a wonderful time! I suggest doing this as one of the very first things you do on your trip to New Orleans as you will be introduced to many places outside of the French Quarter that are forsure worth going back and spending more time at. We learned so much about the history of New Orleans, the affects on neighborhoods & housing after hurricane Katrina, visited a cemetary to see the unique resting sites, stopped to get a snowball (the guava one is delicious! Made with fresh fruit.) My favorite part was getting to see City Park. Its huge park filled with huge oak trees, wildlife, and many activities. We went back just to walk around the paths and enjoy some nature and fresh air!
Definitely a must do activity during your stay!
Thanks Teddy for a great tour and the wonderful food recommendations!
Sherry Price
We loved our tour of New Orleans with a GREAT tour guide Teddy! Learned a lot about the history of the city. It was entertaining and informative. Highly recommend FreeWheelin Bike Tours.
Christina Stephan
One of the best parts of our visit to New Orleans! Highly recommend this bike tour! Knowledgeable, NO native guide, incredible scenery and great bikes. Loved the commentary Teddy gave...he’s great at what he does! Highly recommend. If we were staying longer I’d do the food tour with them!
Katie Casper
Wonderful tour from a wonderful tour guide, Teddy. If you want an authentic tour from locals truly knowledgeable about NOLA and its history, freewheelin is the way to go. We went to an amazing snow-cone place too ;)
Brianna Moncier
We had a great time exploring the city with the bikes. The owner took the time to recommend many interests on a provided map, and sent us on our way with well made bikes and locks.
Anna Gizzi (Atlas)
I was worried about how riding would effect my healing herniated disk. The combination of a guide who took the time to fit me to my bike, the super thick tires, and leisurely pace were A+. We got to see areas of New Orleans that we normally would not have and with a guide, Teddy, who is a local and knows his stuff. Because he was friends with people everywhere we went I never felt like an invasive tourist. It was a very positive experience and my favorite part of my first visit to New Orleans. I highly recommend this bike tour!
Mia Driskill
Fantastic tour with Oliver! Booked a tour with Oliver. Both myself and my fiancé were pleasantly surprised with this tour. We learned so much history about New Orleans, which was perfect for our first trip here. The tour included the French Quarter, City Park, Louis Armstrong Park and so much more! Oliver makes this tour so much fun. I would suggest going during the week so you can have a more intimate experience. The day after our tour we came back to rent bikes and got a discount and map of New Orleans. When we come back to New Orleans we will definitely be booking another tour!
Chris Brennan
We had a great bike tour. Thought we were already familiar with the French Quarter, but learned so much. Highly recommend.
charles newcomb
We had a stellar tour with Laura today! She’s absurdly knowledgeable, fun, and took great care of us! We had a smaller (4) group, so we may have gotten the royal treatment...but this was such an incredible introduction to the old city. Highly recommended!
Will B
FreeWheelin Bike Tours was a great company to use for our bike rentals while in New Orleans. The rental process was quick and easy. Location is perfect if you’re staying around the French Quarter and the return process couldn’t be easier. They have the only 24 hour bike rental return option in the city too. The service was 10/10 and we also got a free map with interesting shops, restaurants, and famous landmarks to see while in New Orleans. Very happy first customer and would highly recommend, we will be using their services again soon on our next trip to New Orleans.
Aaron Liu
Amazing tour! A really great way to see areas around the French quarter and outside it. Our tour guide had an amazing knowledge of the deep history and present day circumstances that gave you an understanding of the New Orleans rich culture. Would highly recommend!
Nick Sacy
We covered a decent amount of ground on the tour. The guide was quite knowledgeable about the city and its history. The pace of the ride was good and would seemingly accommodate most riders. Lots of direct sunlight, coupled with the high humidity, can make the ride uncomfortable at times during the hotter months, but it’s a small price to pay to explore a wonderful city with a rich history.
Anna Brigid Creason
My husband and I have been to New Orleans numerous times and on our last trip decided we wanted to learn more about the cities history so we booked a tour with FrrWheelin'. This tour did not disappoint, not only did we get to see a side of New Orleans we didn't know existed we learned interesting historical facts and evolution of the city. This tour didn't just focus on the French Quarter, you get to see the real New Orleans. 10 out of 10 would recommend!
Grace Sarris
We had such a great tour! Teddy showed us New Orleans at a great speed & gave us a ton of good info about the city. I would recommend the tour to anyone going to New Orleans
Amy Molnar
Awesome bike tour by locals! Such a wonderful experience to really learn some of the history of New Orleans. Our guide was a wealth of knowledge and had great recommendations! Thank you so much!
Aaron Deterding
Teddy treated us like family and gave us a fantastic tour. He had great knowledge of the city and clearly had strong relationships with the community. You can't go wrong with FreeWheelin'!
Michala Johnson
The bike tour was amazing!!! The best part about my New Orleans trip. Our tour guy gave great info about the city. Id definitely do it again !!!
Peter
Awesome company! We had a great tour of the city and our tour guide was great too. We saw some amazing off the beaten path sites and visited some very cool places too. Highly recommend it!
Janeth Sierra-Rivera
Really enjoyed our renting experience. Ryan was really kind and provided us with awesome information so that we could make the most of our rental. Will definitely be returning.
M R
The tour outside of the quarter was fantastic, with lots of local spots and history. Teddy is a great guide! Definitely recommended.
Madeleine Gillis
Laura was our tour guide and she was extremely knowledgeable and fun. She took us on a great bike tour of the city and ensured we were kept safe and in the know about the history of New Orleans. You can tell she loves her city and takes great pride in educating others on what makes her home so unique and special. I highly recommend this bike tour. She even gave some great suggestions on wonderful places to dine at afterwards, and she was spot on.
j daniel
This was more fun than I thought it would be. They fit the bike to your height and provided a helmet if you choose to wear one. Our guide (can’t remember the name but had a long beard) gave some pretty good insight on the history of cultures and buildings during the ride and stops that we made. He was big on leading across intersections and keeping all of riders safe when traveling down the road next to cars in the bike lane. The ride is super easy and a lot of fun and would recommend it to anyone even if you feel you are out of shape like I am. Y’all have fun!
Kevie Newman
Ted was a wealth of information on the city and the various communities. He answered all of our questions and gave us a history of the French rulers and the creoles. It was a fascinating history lesson.
It was a 6 mile bike tour Ted took us to Esplanade street and showed us the different architectures and pointed out the sinking houses that tilted in different directions. We went to one of the 4 cemeteries in the city. All the crypts above ground because of the flooding. We also went to City Park to see the McDonogh giant live oaks. Really impressive.
Ted was very accommodating and made sure we were safe riding around the city.
Thanks - we really enjoyed it!!
Chad Clark
The absolute best bike tour. We saw several other tour groups and this is the one you want. They are true Americans and only have bikes made in the USA. They also don’t make you wear helmets and supply water. Tour guide is local and very knowledgeable and funny. Support these guys because they are the best.
Colleen Courtney
My family of 5 did a tour in December with FreeWheelin and had a great time. We felt like biking was the best way to see more of area, get out of the French quarter, and the guide did a great job of sharing “off the beaten path” facts and stories. Our guide was a local to New Orleans which I think added an extra flare of getting to know the area. The bikes were comfortable and easy to use, they had a basket on the front to bring belongings and a bottle of water was provided. I suggest bringing a water bottle if you have one and especially if it’s a warm day.
Karann Pashkin
Awesome afternoon.
Took the 3 hour bike tour with Teddy. Your was informative and entertaining at the same time. Made a bunch of stops along the way to talk about history and landmarks. An easy ride covering a decent amount of ground. Would highly recommend!!
Garrett Ross
FreeWheelin' was a GREAT experience! We had a group of four take the tour on an over cast and chilli day. Our guide was very knowledgeable, he knew the locals and gave us some AMAZING suggestions of places to visit and eat! You really get the authentic New Orleans feel on these tours. Sign up, you won't be sorry!
Denise Sandor
Wonderful experience! Teddy seamlessly, exuberantly, and safely guided us through crazy Lundi Gras traffic and parades while giving us a taste of the real New Orleans. We made stops at the New Orleans Mint (now the Jazz Museum) and all the way up Esplanade, learning about the history of the area, about the present and past local culture, architecture and more. The short ride through the City Park gave everyone a lovely reprieve from the Mardi Gras/tourist craziness. We loved hearing about how the city has changed and developed through the years, through fires and hurricanes… and how the communities have developed. I would highly recommend and would love to take another tour.
Justin Suraci
We rode with Teddy who was amazing - deeply knowledgeable, clever, and funny. We saw a bunch of lovely and fascinating places we wouldn’t otherwise have known to visit, and the custom cruisers were super fun. An excellent way to spend your morning.
Ross Macfarlane
We had an exceptionally good tour with Teddy yesterday. He took us on a fascinating ride through many of the neighborhoods east of Canal Street, all the way up to the beautiful City Park and back. Teddy did a superb job leading us safely through the sometime busy streets and intersections, all the while giving us detailed information about the broadly diverse people and natural circumstances that have shaped this magical place over the centuries.
Rafaelcab
Took a tour with FreeWheelin and it was great. We were able to see parts of the city that we never would have seen. This is a perfect tour to get you outside of the French quarter and see more of New Orleans and it's history.
Lauren Gizzi
Best part of our whole trip! We loved Teddy's tour for many reasons, I loved that he helped us feel like locals because he would wave/say hello as we passed by over 50 people along the way that he knew personally. They would then wave back to our whole group - It helped us feel welcome everywhere we went on our bikes. Being from New York, I am not a fan of ever feeling like a tourist and never did on our bike ride with Teddy. We also absolutely loved that he took us to get beignets at Morning Call in City Park, because it is just as authentic as Cafe du Monde, but NO LINE. Five stars!!!
Andrea Moyer
Teddy is an awesome guy and tour guide! Loved going off the beaten path and learning more about NOLA’s rich history and culture. It’s great to take the tour near the beginning of your stay to inform what to do for the rest of your time. Highly recommend!!
Amber Allen
This was such a rich experience. Ted knew everything about New Orleans.
He gave us a thorough history of the land and the people. There are so many rich stories that give context to the beautiful context of this incredible city.
W. Leblanc
I am from Louisiana and have been to New Orleans many times, but I have never observed the city like this. The bikea were comfortable and sturdy. I felt safe through out the entire tour. Although I knew some of the History the tour guide impacted new information that I did not know. The group I was with is planning another tour in October. Simply the BEST!!!
Drew Pompa
Ryan’s bikes were exactly what we needed. Very durable as well for the sometimes crazy roads in Nola. Ryan was also very accommodating with our reservation. Look forward to renting from him again!
Kelli Dukes
I enjoyed my FreeWheelin bike tour. Our guide was personable, knowledgeable, and entertaining. We covered areas of the city that we would not have seen in a car. The route was safe and enjoyable. The bikes were comfortable and easy to ride. I would definitely tour with this company again.
LT Smith
Laura was an amazing guide for just the 2 of us on our own little private tour. Great tour with a stop for a beer halfway through. Best way to see the city.
Sofia P
Highly recommend this family-owned, local business! The tour guide Laura was a local and you could tell by all the great information that she provided. It was the perfect way to explore the city and also go outside the French Quarter and truly experience other sides of the city that were fascinating! I loved seeing the vastly different neighborhoods and walk around the graveyard. Our tour guide was awesome and the bikes were great, very easy to pedal with super soft seats!!! All in all, a very authentic and excellent experience and the highlight of my trip!
Katie F
Laura gave my sisters and I such a wonderful tour through the Garden District! It was a beautiful way to go through the city and learn about the history, see the homes of famous people in New Orleans and learn about the architecture, culture, and traditions of the big easy.
The bike ride was easy and Laura made sure we all stayed together. It’s a great way to see more of the city than you could simply on foot.
She took the time to make sure our bikes fit us and didn’t mind when one of my sisters needed to take a break. I highly recommend this company for anyone who wants to see the breadth of the city and learn about its rich history.
Ling Watson
Hands down the best bike tour in New Orleans!
We have taken 4 bike tours at freewheeling over the last 5 years or so. Every time is an impeccable experience. The tour guides we have had have always been locals. they know all the books and crannies about New Orleans and at times hop off the bikes and hug a resident or two, a neat scene to see. The bike ride is part of the experience but the more exciting part is the history telling mixed with fun stories. They always make me way more curious and excited about New Orleans than I started tour with.
The guides have always been very good about accommodating all rider levels and watching out for any issues. They circle front and back of the line to keep the tour group safe while having fun.
I highly recommend free wheeling for your next New Orleans experience.
Happy travels
Jay Miller
the guys here are very helpful getting you set up on the bike and tour guide was great! would definitely recommend to friends
yeah nah
Didn't go here cause it was pretty much impossible to spot, but there's another rental down the street called BAE bikes, and it is gaaarbage. Look for that company on Google maps to be sure you avoid it
A
Our tour with Laura today was great! We enjoyed 3 hours of riding on very comfortable, well maintained bikes and enjoyed all of the history we learned about New Orleans. Laura is a local and loves this city, and it shows. We received local tips and recommendations for things to do and places to eat. Highly, highly recommend using this company for tours or bike rentals. They are wonderful people who obviously enjoy taking care of their customers!
Glyn Archer
This was a great tour for an introduction to New Orleans and some great background and history! Laura was an awesome tour guide and answered any questions we might have had without hesitation. The distance was perfect and we saw plenty of cool sights along the way. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting New Orleans for the first time.
Sandra Zwirlein
Excellent personalized service. Everything you need is provided. Gave great suggestions/recommendations. And the bike seats were comfy! :)
Troy Nussbaum
Support small business! Bike share companies have come into NOLA and are putting these companies out of business. You’ll never get a tour from a bike share company!
Our tour guide Laura was awesome. A ball of energy; extremely knowledgeable, funny, and friendly. She took our tour all around town safely and helped us see and learn about lots of New Orleans. A fantastic tour guide and person!
The bikes were extremely comfortable. A “lazy boy couch” type seat for each cruiser bike they provide. The bike is quickly custom fit to each rider to ensure safety and comfort. They rent the same bikes you ride on the tours on, so I would recommend renting these comfortable bikes as well.
The only downfall to the tour was our fellow guests who were not great riders who slowed us down, and made for a few dicey intersection crossings. There was nothing the tour could have done about that - we did our best to avoid them at all costs.
Whitney Boyce
We loved the 3 hr Crescent & Creole tour! Small group of 4 with a very informative tour guide. Highly recommend!
Tyler Prewitt
My girlfriend and I did a bike tour with Laura. She was a blast! We had such a good time riding through the city and learning all about the history and culture of New Orleans. Laura had us laughing the whole time. This has hands down been my best experience in the city. If you are thinking about doing a bike tour I highly recommend going with freewheelin bike tours and having Laura show you around! She is amazing 10/10!
Lionel Morales
I absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting New Orleans! You will have a great time, with friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff and get to see a lot of the city in a short time. Our tour guide gave us great, personal insight of the city and I learned a lot that I'm sure I wouldn't normally have. Also, I gotta mention that the bikes themselves were great. I don't know anything about bikes but the seats were incredibly comfortable and the bike as a whole felt very high quality. My only regret is that I only had time for one tour. I know I'll definitely be back for more the next time I'm in NOLA!
Nate Welch
Wife and I had an amazing time. Andrew was our tour guide and was fun and informative. Bikes were immaculate. We are locals and still learned tons of great info about our city!
Andrea Rouse
Ryan was very kind and informative. We reserved bikes the morning of the day we needed them and he went into the shop just for us.
Kristine Hrin
We had an incredible time on this tour. During a short visit to New Orleans we took three different tours and this was by far our favorite way to see the city and our favorite tour guide - Laura!
At one point it started raining, but we continued on our tour and even that was fun - riding in the rain!
I highly recommend this tour group and guide. You will not be disappointed!
Melanie Warner
We had an absolutely amazing time on the Garden Tour with Brett!! We loved hearing about all the history of New Orleans - and all the Fun Facts that Brett shared. The staff supplied us with water and kept us in shaded areas when we stopped at each location. The bike tour was a wonderful way to see the city and learn about all the history! We WILL be back on our next trip to Nola for another bike tour!
Ellie Hall
Absolutely loved this tour! It was my favorite thing to do in New Orleans. Our tour guide, Laura, was funny and a bit spunky and very informative. She was very humorous, but she kept the tour clean for our last graduated high school students. Comfortable bikes, fun route. Great fun!
Rebecca Hughes
This was one of my favorite parts of our trip to New Orleans. The tour guide was awesome! He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and genuine. We saw so much more of New Orleans than we even realized existed. This tour is definitely responsible for most of the New Orleans knowledge I left with. I highly recommend giving this tour a shot (as long as you're comfortable biking on streets).
Danielle Allen
My family had the best time with Brett! He made our tour super fun and entertaining. Brett shared all his Nola knowledge with us, and by the time our tour was over, we felt like locals! Brett gave us great recommendations as far as places to go while we were in town. This bike tour made my very first trip to New Orleans a memorable one, and I personally think that it is a must-do for anyone visiting!
Rhiannon Price
Best tour!! So much fun and so informative. They will treat you like family. You won't regret it!!!
Heather Fay
Family with teens- we did the crescent and creole tour. This was a highlight of our trip. We will definitely go again the next time we come to town. Our guide was fun, informative, passionate about NOLA and made the tour great. We met the owner- he was great too. We 100% recommend this company. SO fun!
Tammy Van Wyk
This tour was recommended by a friend and I’m so glad we did it. Our guide, Laura, was great. It was such a fun and relaxed way to see the city. I highly recommend these tours whether it’s your first time to New Orleans or if you have been there several times.
Rick Budding
We had a fantastic experience with FreeWheelin' Bike tours! Friendly reception, clean and inviting shop and waiting area, comfortable, east-to-operate bikes. Teddy our tour guide gave us a wonderful tour. His commentary was interesting and, being a local all his life, he could speak knowledgeably and with passion about his city. Our Creole & Crescent tour was a great way to see and learn about New Orleans. Highly recommended!
George Burich
My wife and I had a great time on this tour with our guide Laura, who was amazing! If you do one tour or activity while in New Orleans, this is the one. The Haunted Tours of New Orleans are lame and a waste of your money and time. Our only regret was we didn’t do this tour on day 1. The bike shop and staff were all first class and made sure everyone was ready for our adventure. This was the highlight of our time in the Big Easy.
Nash Luffman
Laura gave us a great tour of NO! She was super super informative. Definitely cool to have a native of New Orleans lead the tour. We did the crescent and creole tour and got to see some really cool parts of the city.
Also the bikes were really comfy. A lot better than the Social Bikes. Wish we had known the difference before we came down.
Would definitely recommend FreeWheelin’ Bike Tours and would definitely do again!!
Xiomara Ardon
We just finished our French Quarter Tour with Laura, I must add what an amazing tour guide. She explained the cities history with great detail. Bike ride, worth it. Laura is very knowledgeable and has an amazing personality. Thank you Laura!!
Winnie Chin
Being the first time in New Orleans, we really wanted to see as much as we could and a bike tour seemed like a great idea. We were glad to have gone with Freewheelin tour, they had several choices and we picked the Creole and Crescent tour. Our tour guide Laura was a true local! She was really knowledgeable, fun and accommodating! We had a great time!
Darlene Pike
Toured with Laura. She was awesome. We learned so much about the city. She was entertaining, accomodating. and knowledgeable. You appreciate and understand the sites of New Orleans so much more after the tour. We plan to return and highly recommend the tour as one of the first things you do when visiting New Orleans.
Nadia C.
Awesome tour!!! A trip highlight for our family of 4. Thanks, Teddy! Teddy’s a natural story teller with a wealth of knowledge of New Orleans history without forcing ideas or leaving guests overwhelmed. Truly the best way to experience New Orleans. We took the Crescent and Creole tour. Time flys so don’t be overwhelmed about the duration. Plenty of stops along the way to take it all in and enjoy New Orleans coffee house CC’s🥰. NOLA natives that truly love their city, its people, and tourists. You guys are doing an amazing job👏🏼!!! We hope you continue to thrive through these tough times and that your amazing city comes back stronger than ever. As Teddy said, “all of you just keep coming, keep traveling, to help bring the city back”. And don’t forget to tip your guides!

Awesome bike tour. Three of us went on the 9:45 am bike tour on a Sunday. Took about three hours. Not too strenuous, but at the same time, I felt we covered plenty of ground too. The guide Teddy was great, the bikes were great, and the whole experience was great. This bike tour was the perfect way to explore New Orleans and soak in many of the sights. I highly recommend this bike tour to anyone visiting New Orleans.
Maryanne Shulman
Laura was our tour guide. She is a native and therefore very knowledgeable, as well as engaging and energetic.the bikes are nice, easy to ride, and comfortable. We saw so much! A beautiful ride—didn’t even mind when it began to rain. I recommend to everyone and book it at the beginning of your stay in New Orleans so that you have the history and recommendations that are essential for the remainder of your stay. Gained a great appreciation of this intriguing city!

Visited NOLA for the first time and took a 3hr bike tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and interesting, the bikes were comfortable and in good working order, and the tour took us to many parts of the city that we would not have known to go to or been able to explore on foot. Also were able to get many great suggestions for food and drink to check out in the area. Definitely would recommend this company to anyone going to NOLA and looking to see what is beyond Bourbon Street! Thank you!!

Had a great afternoon during our 3 hour historical tour of New Orleans with our tour guide Laura. The bikes we're sturdy and comfortable. Our guide was very safety conscious and had lots of interesting information - we learned lots while having fun. It really made me love this great city more.
Jonathan Hitt
My girlfriend and I took a tour with Teddy and it was fantastic. I’ve never been on a bike tour before and was pleasantly surprised. The tour guides are local and a wealth of knowledge. I’ll be coming back for any tours in the future.
Aaron Block
These guys went way out of their way to make our trip fabulous. They helped an unsteady rider get comfy, arranged for sizes, gave restaurant recs, gave a fun history of a lot of the city. Saw places I’ve never been. Thank you, Ryan and T3.
Marie Dilg
I took the tour with my two teenage sons. It was a low-impact ride, completely level, a breeze. Bikes were super comfortable. Mike was a fantastic guide, there wasn't a question he couldn't answer. The best part of the ride was that while you begin in the French Quarter and you learn about the area, you also learn about the other sections of New Orleans that you wouldn't necessarily see on your own and you learn about the city's rich history. You see some of the city's beautiful parks as well so the ride is a blend of New Orleans' grit and grass if you will. We loved it and would highly recommend the tour.
Sophie Chan-Wood
We had a fun, easy-going tour with Oliver! It was great to hear the interesting stories as we biked about 9 miles around town. The bike lanes made it nice to get outside of the French Quarter and see other parts of the city. The stops at the cemetery and City Park were fun. Thanks for the coffee break too! It took a bit for me to get use to the pedal brake on the cruiser bike, but it was not a problem since the terrain was flat.
Alex Diedrick
My boyfriend and I visited New Orleans for the first time, and this was one of the first things we did. It was fantastic! It was a great way to see a lot of the city in a short amount of time. Oliver was a great tour guide. He was fun and enthusiastic and extremely well informed on the rich history of the city. Would absolutely recommend!
Captn Torch
Our tour guide, Laura, did A great job of safely keeping the group together, explaining the key sites of interest, and mixing in humor and local stories. It was very clear that she had lots of tidbits of information and really enjoyed doing the tours! The pace was great. We covered a good deal of territory but stopped every few blocks and had optional rest breaks. The bikes were also first rate! I would highly recommend this bike shop and their tours!
Robin Hedlund
Excellent tour! The ride was not hard at all and our guide was super knowledgeable about New Orleans, the city's history, and he kept us safe and entertained during our entire ride. Would definitely take another tour with this responsible, friendly, and fun bike tour outfit!
rhonda anders
We had such a fabulous time with Freewheelin' Bike Tours. Our tour guide Laura, certainly was very informative on the history facts of New Orleans as she told us she was born and raised there. The tour we chose stopped frequently at lovely locations. We even had a stop for beignets and coffee. Such a treat! We certainly will be back! Very professional employees! Family owned business that treated us like family! Thank you for wonderful memories!
Christy Wempe
Absolutely loved this tour!! It was the perfect was to get a taste of all the different areas of New Orleans if you're on a shorter trip. The tour guide (I want to say her name was Laura or Lisa- I apologize I'm terrible with names) was the best and their whole team were warm, friendly, and welcoming. This was my favorite part of my trip and I would highly recommend it!
Amy Wu
I rented a bike for 24 hours and also did the Garden District tour. The bikes are all coaster brake only, with traditional upright men's and ladies' (step through) versions. They even have an extra-small version with 650b wheels. I wanted to bike by myself to City Park and Audubon Park. City Park is relatively easy to get to from their location. Audubon is more complicated and I wish I had gone on the tour instead!
The Garden District tour was great with only five people in our group. Our guide, Laura, was great about making sure intersections were clear before the group crossed. I learned lots of interesting facts and history about New Orleans. Overall, New Orleans is a pretty safe place to bike. I went during the weekdays and even in streets with no dedicated bike lane, drivers were pretty courteous as long as you ride in a predictable manner. French Quarter is full of one-way streets and has very little traffic (it's mostly horse-drawn carriages!). I'd highly recommend renting and taking a tour.
Bob Lawkins
Highly recommend. Best way to see New Orleans and learn about its history and influences. Teddy obviously knew so many people in many neighborhoods with a long family history and being a lifelong resident.
The bikes are perfect for the tour and everyone at FreeWheelin' was friendly and helpful. Outstanding and memorable experience.
Benjamin Horine
Laura gave an amazing tour with tons of great information from a local. There were plenty of stops along the way where Laura told us history about New Orleans and showed us things that we wouldn’t have been able to see otherwise. Biking around the city was a great way to see a lot and learn the history of a fascinating area of the United States.
Shannon Smith
Amazing company and awesome owner! My tour of the city was one of the best things I done in New Orleans. Very friendly and helpful staff. They also offer military discount which is another plus. Overall great experience and I highly recommend it.
Victoria Fairhurst
We hired the bikes for 8 hours as we were excited to try to explore the city independently. I can honestly say this was a great decision! The process was easy and the lady who helped us out with recommendations of where to visit on our map was gratefully received. We cycled round the french quarter and up to city park and beyond then back to the quarter and a little of the garden district before our legs could take no more. It was the first time on a free wheeler and I loved it ! The bikes are in amazing condition and really comfortable to ride. We were given helmets and lights for when it was dark. Returning the bikes out of hours couldnt be easier. Would definitely recommend and of we ever go back we will book the bike hire again 😁
Kelli Cook
The tour was great. I’ve done them all over the world and this was my favorite so far. My guide had long hair and matching beard (bad with names, sorry!!) and was incredible. Local, as most bike tour people are, and a great storyteller. He also looked out for more than any other guide to the extent of chasing some jackass who cut us off - all in a very safe manner of course ;) The info is great, the ride is easy, the route is lovely. We also had three birthdays, including mine, and they pinned us with dollar bills, a New Orleans tradition. During the whole tour people called out Happy Birthday to us, this backing up this city’s claim on friendliness. I would not hesitate to recommend FreeWheelin’ Bike Tours.
David Radziewicz
This tour was the first thing we did on our trip to New Orleans and it was fantastic. It's the best way to see and learn about the history of the city. Laura was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable and fun! She made some recommendations of where tongo and she was spot on. If you are going to rent a bike, do it from here.
Cindy Stadt
Great bike tour! Teddy was great. Born and raised in New Orleans he had so much knowledge to share with us while riding through many neighborhoods and parks. Get off Bourbon Street and see the real New Orleans. You won’t regret it.
Robert Farrell
Great experience and folks! We started our first ever New Orleans trip with their Creole/Crescent tour. Aunt Linda did a fabulous job showing us a bit of the city, and sharing some awesome history, tidbits, legends, etc. HIGHLY recommend this tour!
Ryan K Bucholtz
Loved it. Our tour guide was born and raised New Orleans, which makes it nice to have someone local. The pace is very easy to keep up with. Tour plus stops was right around 4 hours. Helmet is HIGHLY recommended, even if you are an experienced rider. It's not you that you need to worry about, it's the vehicles and pedestrians.
Tim Smyth
This is an exceptional operation. A few reasons: One, professional staff, know their stuff, know and love New Orleans. Two, the bikes are very nice. Quality steel bikes. I bike commute every day and own two very nice bikes, these guys use legit cruiser bicycles. Steel makes riding much more comfortable— if you don’t know, now you know....Finally, the tour itself was a really nice route, that pulled in a lot of cool stuff. Thanks for the ride!
Billy McEwen
FreeWheelin’ was a fantastic part to our recent New Orleans trip. Went in the morning and was a great way to blow the cobwebs off from the night before. Safe riding, very informative and a great way to see areas of the city that we had never seen before...daily exercise ticked off too! Our tour guide, Laura, was great. These local businesses should be supported by all visitors so that the option is always there. We will regret it when the only available option is the soulless rent-a-bikes all over the place!!!
Brit Jewell
Our Creole tour was fantastic! We did it on our first day in NOLA and got a great tour of the area, awesome recommendations and learned a lot of history. The pace was relaxing, it was a hot day so they made sure we had lots of water, our tour guide stopped in the shade when giving us history of the area. We had a great time and would definitely recommend doing this tour!
Lisa Meyers
Andrew was our tour guide. He was interesting, taught us about lots of great New Orleans history and kept us safe on our bikes. The bikes are easy to ride and the seats were very comfy. We had a great afternoon and would highly recommend Free Wheelin Bike Tours!
Tamarah Sato
My husband and I did the Garden District tour with Mike. We really enjoyed it! It was wonderful to see different parts of the city, hear about and see signs of hundreds of years of history, as well as a few well-known people's houses. :) Mike was knowledgeable and friendly.
I would definitely recommend this tour to friends, and will plan on doing another tour next time we are in town. It was a great way to explore the beautiful city of New Orleans!
Rex Howard
Great tour by Teddy. Super knowledgeable! Fun sense of humor. Had a lot of connections on the route to buy tasty treats
Benjy Portnoy
Great, well-run operation with a highly informative and fun tour of the city. This was my third trip to NOLA, but the first one where I felt like I walked away with a good sense of what it's really about (beyond the tourist attractions).
Annie Dolan-Niles
This was a great experience! Laura was our tour guide & she was full of typical New Orleans charm, humor & tales of local history, people & traditions. Loved seeing the colorful houses & architecture of the different neighborhoods & meeting different folks along the way including little Ava & Ms. Mary (I think) with delicious homemade pralines. Thank you, Laura! And thank you FreeWheelin' Bikes for a fantastic time!
Emily Widmer
I was nervous about this tour since I haven't been on a bike in over a decade. After a few extra turns around the parking lot to work out some nerves, my friend and I were off with our guide Andrew. We lucked out and were the only two on this particular tour, and it was so fantastic! Andrew shared a lot of info about the history of the city - more info than we got from any other tour guides on our trip. The sights were amazing and his sense of humor was thoroughly entertaining! My friend and I both heartily agreed that we would have done their other tour if we'd had the time, and maybe even rented bikes to venture out on our own. This was hands down my favorite activity in New Orleans! The only thing I would have changed was being able to spend more time exploring the cemetery.
Jodi Leamon
My husband and I did the Marigny tour on a super hot day. Our guide was amazing, we stuck to the shade and were provided lots of water plus a stop at a great brewery to cool off. This was the best part for both of us of a two week road trip through the south with lots of other very cool stops. We learned so much, saw things we would never have seen, were comfortable and safe and able to just enjoy the ride without worrying about a thing. We got tips for the rest of our stay in NOLA that turned out to be perfect, too!
Shawn Fink
Laura was an awesome tour guide. She gave us a historical slice of New Orleans that I never knew. The Marigny & Bywater route was amazing. It gave me a great feel of NOLA outside of the French Quarter. Bikes were steel fixies; comfortable for the low speed to enjoy all the cool places.
Marina Myers
Several weeks ago I was visiting New Orleans for the first time and took a tour of the city with some friends through FreeWheelin’. The experience couldn’t have been better! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Our tour guide was one of the born and raised locals who was able to share with us so much of the rich history of the city, and her energy made it a very entertaining experience. If you are visiting, you should definitely take a tour with FreeWheelin’ you will not be disappointed!
Jason Libby
Wicked comfortable and easy to ride bikes, fantastic tour guide and absolutely flat terrain make this 3 hour tour hard to pass up. Worth every penny of the $50 per person fee. A really great way to see more of New Orleans than you might if limited to your two feet. Highly recommend and would take another of their tours if ever I am back in NOLA.
Ali W.
I highly recommend Freewheeling Bike Tours in New Orleans. Teddy was a great guide full of enthusiasm, knowledge and fun. Let me also say that the bikes rocked! They have big fat tires and big cushy seats that really helped with shock absorption. We passed a few other bike tours along the way and their bikes did not seem nearly as comfortable.
TeriAnn Kruse
It was the best way to start off a week in New Orleans. I enjoyed the scenery, the witty guides, and the great company on the "Queen of the South" and "Creole and Crescent" tours. The guides had great tips on where to eat and interesting sights to see. The bikes were perfect for the roads we were on and well maintained. I made the mistake of flying in my road bike the last time I was in New Orleans. The roads were a challenge for my tour bike's skinny wheels and I didn't get to learn as much about the city riding around by myself. I will definitely join FreeWheelin' Bike Tours for another tour the next time I'm in New Orleans.
Warren Wiker
We visited New Orleans last week and wanted to see some of the city not all visitors get to see. Our "Free Wheelin'" bike tour was great. We saw parts of the city beyond the French Quarter, from Esplanade to City Park and the Garden District. City Park is fantastic and well worth revisiting. We even saw part of a second line, and our guide was a New Orleans native who knew his city. Thanks for a great ride!
Cheryl Smith
What a great find in NOLA. This was my girl's first trip to New Orleans and this bike trip was a great way for them to see a big view of the city from the seat of a bike. From the French Quarter all the out to the Garden District. Our guide JJ really made the trip fun and safe. He shared a lot of information the city! I would highly recommend this tour!
Erica Kelly Chee
I have love bike tours when I venture to a new city and this one was amazing!!!! I learned more and saw more in 3 hours on a bike than I would have all weekend. I was able to appreciate so much more of my New Orleans trip because of Dora's information. Advice: if you go in the winter, bring a warm coat. It's colder than you think.
Thanks for an awesome ride!!!
L T
This was definitely the best bike tour that I have ever taken. Our tour guide was very professional and the history about New Orleans was interesting, what a great family friendly business. The owner was a very nice young man that was helpful on placed to go after the tour. Thank you for making our day
Dede Ackerman
I went on a tour with friends and we really enjoyed the experience... It is a great way to see the architecture, tour the neighborhoods and learn about the cultural diversity and colorful history of New Orleans. Jonathan is an exceptional tour guide. He has both a prodigious knowledge of the area and a talent for story telling. He provides a sequential historical overview for newcomers but also infuses his narrative with compelling anecdotes, vivid details and a sense of personal pride of NOLA heritage. Jonathan is also very safety conscious... He provided clear signals to our tour group as we moved through traffic. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!
Stephanie Byrne
A "wheely" good bike tour - must do! We did the Marigny and Bywater tour with Laura (she's local with loads of knowledge and personality). This was the most fun tour we did on our trip (we've had soooo many recommendations from friends here and afar). We walked into free wheelin a bit early and felt like we'd known Oli forever, he was personable and friendly told us lots about his story and got every one excited for the tour. With regards to the actual tour: This part of the city is stunning, every house and building is unique and there are lots of places we will go back to explore further on the rest of our trip. The bikes are cruisers, very comfortable, flat easy cycling with rest stops, water was provided. We had 7 in our group (max 10) which is great.
Shobhit Sharma
We did the creole and crescent tour which was around 3 hours in duration. We navigated through the french quarter, Frenchman street, city park, morning call cafe and St Louis cemetery to name a few highlights. The guide was very informative and was good at navigating a group of 8 cyclists through all kinds of streets, even those which did not have dedicated bike lanes. Overall it was fun exploring the beautiful city of new Orleans.
Erica Seeger
My boyfriend and I had such a great time on the FreeWheelin bike tour. We did the Creole and Crescent ride since it was our first time in New Orleans, and it really gives you a feel for the city. Our tour guide was really informative too! I highly recommend this tour, and will definitely try one of the others when I return to this amazing city!
Erin Cunningham
My mom and I took a tour with this awesome group last March. Our guide was fantastic! She made sure to give a great historical tour while providing recommendations for places to visit that were off the beaten path. It was a nice easy pace that took about half the day and we had plenty of quick stops to take pictures or ask questions. We will definitely be back one day!
Paul Brandon
This is such a great tour and Laura was so awesome! She took care of us every step of the way. It was just my wife and I and we liked how intimate it was. Definitely better than being jammed pack in a tourbus. Everyone on the route seemed to known Laura (‘hey baby!’) and it was awesome to get a local tour by a real local. Especially one that was helping with the Katrina clean up!! She was very knowledgeable and was able to answer every question we had. We passed some other ‘big chain’ bike tours and they had a ton of people and didn’t look like they were having as much fun. Support local businesses and go with freewheelin.
Thanks Laura!
Your friends from Utah

The garden district tour was the highlight of our trip to New Orleans. Our tour guide JJ was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable, informative and entertaining and was very safety conscious. He made sure everyone was keeping up and was excellent at directing the group through the crowded streets. I will definitely do another tour with freewheelin' again if we find ourselves back in New Orleans.
Dan Doenges
Super knowledgeable staff and fun tour. If you want legit history of New Orleans from a local perspective, this is the tour for you. The best way to see the city up close and personal. Thanks!
James Baker
Queen of the South Garden District tour and historic Creole and Crescent French Quarter, City Park tour were both great. We took both on consecutive mornings. Teddy guided the Garden District ride and Jonathon led the Creole tour. They did great jobs explaining the history and stories about the areas and New Orleans. We've taken walking tours, bus tours and now bicycling tours and the bicycling tours have been the best. You can move quickly from place to place like the buses but still slip into the nooks and crannies easily to see little details that the buses miss. FreeWheelin' Bike Tours bikes are solid and handle the rough NOLA roads well. Take the morning tours in the Summer before the heat sets in. Make sure you reserve in advance because spots can fill up with short notice.
Gregory Bowling
Our tour guide, Laura, a native of NOLA, was very knowledgeable as well as entertaining. She showed us some great sights and architecture, and augmented the stops with historical perspective (and some current pop culture info as well). The equipment was comfortable and exceptionally well maintained. Altogether a very enjoyable bike tour.
Christina Norland
We did the Marigny and Bywater Tour with Laura today. She’s the best! Born and raised here, she had a ton of great information, navigated the streets with ease, and had a great sense of humor. We had a great time, learned a lot and had some great beer along the way. It was also nice to get out of the French Quarter and see more of New Orleans. Highly recommend!
Jim Campbell
Rented a bike over the course of several days. Bike was sturdy, comfortable, and the owner adjusted the seat to my height, too. One plus about renting from here is that you can return the bike any time of day - some places require you to return rented bikes only when the shop is open.
The shop features a lot of gun-related stickers, and they seem to be pretty enthusiastic gun advocates. The person who gave us our bikes spent a good amount of time talking with another customer about crime and the downsides of lax law enforcement before we could get our bikes.
To each their own, I guess, but I'd rather we just be able to get our bikes.
Victoria Mothes
My sister & I had a wonderful FreeWheelin' Bike Tour with Andrew as our guide. He was knowledgeable (and truthful) and we learned about architecture, history, government, celebrities, cemeteries, and more. The bikes were well cared for, clean, and comfortable. It was a great way to see New Orleans and I would definitely do it again!
Michelle Fung
We had the most wonderful introduction to the colourful history of New Orleans by our tour guide Teddy. He was honest and a wealth of historical knowledge that we just couldn't stop eating-up. He also provided us with a wonderful list of local places that we can't wait to explore.
Mark Boyd
This was my first time to New Orleans. Friends booked for the FreeWheelin Creole and Crescent Bike Tour and so My girlfriend and I went along with them. I am NOT a bike rider but it didn't matter. It turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip. First of all Laurie introduced herself. Everyone was very friendly. The bikes were set up to be just right. We were given great instructions especially safety and off we went. The terrain is not difficult. You ride and stop and listen and ride and stop and listen. Laurie was an amazing guide. She grew up in New Orleans and the history was explained from a local. About halfway we were offered a stop at a coffee stop. Laurie quickly picked up on the mood and took us to Sante Fe bar in the next block. It was her birthday but she stayed outside and watched the bikes and we brought her drinks. The tour went longer than planned and took us through areas outside the traditional French Quarter. There were many highlights of these 5 nights in New Orleans but this bike tour was right up near the top. I would recommend FreeWheelin to anyone interested in a different and local way of getting to know the city, its people, its history and its culture.

We did the new off the beaten path tour with "aunt" Laura. She was great!!! She was born and raised in the area and as such was very knowledgeable. We heard some fun facts of the Marigny and Bywater areas, as well as the whole of NOLA. I highly recommend this tour if you're looking to explore somewhere unique.
Katherine Swosinski
So much fun! The bikes were comfy and adjusted to our height. They were easy to ride. Our group saw so many places and learned so much! Laura, our guide, was great! She was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Laura kept us in a group and safe when sharing the roads. We loved listening to her stories! She also gave us great lunch recommendations!
Some tips: bring extra water- they provide you with a cold bottle of water, but if you drink a lot, bring extra. Bring a hat on sunny days too. There is a basket on the bikes to hold purses and water bottles.
Heather Hui
Amazing bike tour! Ben made our experience above and beyond what we expected. His passion and knowledge for the history of New Orleans will be the highlight of your trip! I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get the most out of their time in New Orleans. Thank you Ben!
Frank Jurado
Top notch bikes and tour guides!!! Had a great time and learned a lot about New Orlean's rich history on the Creole and Crescent tour from our guide Teddy. He was very polite, professional, attentive and knowledgeable- a real New Orleans local. Planning on doing the other two tours on my next visit to NOLA.
Eric Wallace
We took the Creole and Crescent tour on a Wednesday afternoon with Laura. It was really great. She clearly has a passion for NOLA and it comes across in her presentation. The best part of this tour for our family is that we saw parts of NOLA we had not seen on our visit and maybe wouldn't have seen otherwise. The bikes were in very good shape. They were adjusted to fit prior to leaving out from the shop. Helmets were provided if desired (not required). Our tour was 3 hours long. It flew by. The ride was flat and not at all strenuous. Our kids are 13 and "12" -- 12 is the youngest age child that can participate. The only drawback is that some of the ride is along busy (and sometimes narrow) streets. I would be cautious about bringing along an inexperienced or timid rider. Overall it was great. I wish we had more time another day for one of the other tours. We would definitely ride again and not hesitate to recommend it to our friends.
Chris M
My wife and I loved this tour and highly recommend it! We had Andrew as a guide, and he did a spectacular job narrating the tour as he provided many historic facts about the numerous sites explored while also keeping the mood light and fun. The bike tour is great because we were able to cover so much ground in just a couple of hours. Keep up the good work guys!
Chere Weiss
My friend and I rented bikes from this company in the heart of New Orleans. We had great bikes, good service and instructions. The owner Ryan was very helpful in giving us tips on where to ride and safety in the city.
Tracey Lundblad
We love these tours! We look forward to them every time we are in New Orleans. As always the guides know the history and show you a great ride! Excellent tour, great people!
Rebecca Carson
The highlight of my trip was seeing NOLA neighborhoods with Oliver. Marigny, Mid City, Treme, Esplanade, City Park - felt like I experienced the city as a local. Oliver was the best and looked after me with great care and humor.
The bikes are built from scratch and comfortable and easy to use! Never felt unsafe.
I believe most of the staff are veterans, and it was great to support a small business that really cares about its customers.
You won't regret it!
Ginna Closs
What a great way to see the city! These tours are top notch, with really sturdy, comfortable bikes and knowledgable, friendly guides. We took the Creole and Crescent tours, and our guide Theodore was really good at pointing out all of the differences between the neighborhoods and the history behind them. Throughout the tour, we passed people he knows who seemed really glad to see him. Great New Orleans local knowledge, and the stop for beignets at Morning Call in City Park is way better than wading through the crowds at Cafe Du Monde. If I had more more time here I would do the other tours as well!
Susan Bracken
We very much enjoyed our guide (I apologize for not remembering her name) a d tbe tour through the Garden District.
I came away with a history lesson of the greater New Orleans area as well as current day who's who living in the area.
Our guide was very conscience of our safety.
Just wished the ride could have lasted longer.
Would do it again knowing that I would hear the same information.
Audra McCleary
We had such a great time on our first tour of the French Quarter with Laura, we booked their Garden district tour with Teddy, two days later. Both were awesome. Freewheelin's guides are local and authentic. Best tours ever!
Sara Hahn
Such a good tour! They took us to all different parts of the city that were absolutely beautiful and spoke so much about the history. Everyone also gave great recommendations on where to go and eat since it was mine and my friends first time there. Definitely the company to use for the bike tours. Loved it!
Wesley Price
Great tour of New Orleans that takes you out of the French quarter into many other great spots in the city. Frenchman Street introduction highlighting music venues. Esplanade boulevard with teetering homes as a result of the underlying geology. The Creole and New Orleans unique cultural history. The epic City Park with sculpture garden, botanical gardens, and giant live oaks sprawling and big groups celebrating. Lots of celebrating. Do this tour for a great broad view of New Orleans.
Andi D
This was one of my highlights to my trip to New Orleans. My friend and I went on the Creole & Crescent Bike Tour and had a fabulous time. This was one of the best ways to see and get around the city -- and even though it was a little wet (we had some rain on during our tour) I still had a blast! Teddy was an awesome tour guide and is clearly knowledgeable about the city and history. It took me a bit to get used to the bike -- but it wasn't hard and they are some of the best made bikes ever and totally sturdy and comfy, even on some of the bumpier streets (I think I remember them saying that they were handmade in NY). I learned a lot and I would recommend this tour to anyone. I for sure want to go on other tours that they offer and rent a bike to see the city. My only regret is that I didn't do this on the first day of my trip. Put this on the top of your list of things to do!
Perry Swope
Incredible owners and guides. Laura was a peerless leader, fun, good humored, careful and a native with a fresh perspective and lots of history. Oliver and Ryan were also there and were dedicated to their craft and service. Great, well cared for equipment, conveniently located and FULLY customer based and focused. A class act all the way. We heartly recommend the operation and the folks. Support your vets and this business. They were truly the best. Hard to say enough good about them.

I've been to New Orleans before and have done other bike tours before. They offered 2 unique tours exploring areas beyond the French quarter and City Park; the Bywater & Marigny and Garden District tours. Laura was the guide for the Bywater tour and she was extremely knowledgeable, having grown up nearby in Gentilly. Nice, leisurely pace and was happy to answer any questions we had regarding various neighborhoods, Katrina and current affairs. Later in the week I did the Garden District tour with Brett. He was hilarious and super fun. He made sure to point out things he knew would interest us (for example, I'm a fan of AHS Coven and he knew a lot of filiming location details). It was obvious he took safety seriously which I appreciated as you do bike near a lot of traffic. Huge props to Brett for using "enslaved" rather than "slave" when speaking about the history of New Orleans. I've done many tours and visited NOLA a few times and I learned a ton on each tour. Highly recommend either tour!
Kate Tranquada
Laura was informative, entertaining and attentive to our safety while sharing the streets with traffic. Bikes were outrageously comfortable. Great way to get our bearings on the first day of our first visit to New Orleans.

Highly recommend this tour! The guide, Teddy, was great - depth of knowledge, deep roots in the city, a quirky sense of humor, and great at keeping everyone safe & happy on the trip. A bike tour is a great way to experience a number of different neighborhoods up close, places tourists don't often get to see. The bikes are comfy (custom built for a smooth ride on old cobblestone streets) and the pace is relaxed.
Laurie Wilmot
This was the favourite thing I did in New Orleans (and I loved everything I did). The tour I went on was called Creole and Crescent. It takes about 3 hours, covers fascinating neighbourhoods, introduces New Orleans Cemeteries and takes you to City Park. On the bike, you are "up close and personal", but can cover more territory than is possible on foot. The guide is a native New Orleanian. He is proud of his city and his heritage and is keen to share his knowledge. The bikes are super comfy. The level of effort required to bike around New Orleans is about 1.5 out of 10.
Jill Heiman
Great place super nice. Rented scooters and had a blast. Will rent every time where in town.
Molly Petre
We took a tour with Teddy and he was so kind and knowledgeable. He made us feel safe and gave a wonderful, local perspective that made us appreciate the city and the tour experience much more than other experiences we've had.
Michael Puglisi
This is the best way to experience New Orleans!
The French quarter is very bicycle friendly and having one allows you to cover A LOT more ground than being on foot. The prices are very reasonable and the bikes even come with a lock (no up charge). I'm definitely going back, and might even do the tour so I can learn about the city as we cruise.
Jon Van Osdell
My group of friends and I took the Creole and Crescent tour with Teddy. Even though almost all of us are locals from the greater New Orleans area, we all had an incredible time and learned a lot of new things about the city. I HIGHLY recommend anybody, whether you're a new visitor to the city, you've been a 100 times, or even if you're a local, to go take a tour with FreeWheelin Tours.
Kim Epp Frenette
Laura was a fantastic guide. She kept us feeling very safe - I would follow that woman into battle! Very informative commentary and an excellent way to see a beautiful city that is so much more than Bourbon Street.
Rianne van Wezenbeek
This afternoon we've had a tour in New Orleans and it was fabulous! Laura showed us places were we never would have gone by ourselves. So if you like a two hours biketrip in the city we highly recommend FreeWheelin ' Bike Tours. Laura thank you, greetings Jos and Rian.
Zack Pio
Had a great ride around the city with Teddy. I was worried that it would be super sunny the whole time but the Crescent tour was a nice mix of shade and sun. Be sure to bring CASH for the stop off at the beignet and coffee shop! The snacks and frozen drinks were delicious! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone visiting New Orleans.
Jennifer Cole Rodriguez
The best time! Laura was so knowledgeable and fun. Could have spent all day learning from her. The fact that she is a New Orleans native was an added bonus. Will definitely sign up for another tour on a return trip.
Randi Hanis
Did the Marigny and Bywater tour with Laura, 5 stars! Next time I'm in New Orleans I'll definitely be booking another tour with FreeWheelin and I will request Laura for sure! Highly entertaining, so much fun and informative. The bikes were top notch which made the tour even better.
Bruce Kellison
Our guide Ollie was super fun and knowledgeable about New Orleans. Bikes were great and comfortable. Pace was perfect. Easily the best way to see New Orleans. Would do it again!
Shantanu Wagh
Extremely knowledgeable tour guide. Locally run which means you truly get the best look at NOLA. Absolutely worth it for the price. You get to see a lot of the city if you are there for a short time.
Brandi Gerteis
Loved, loved, loved FreeWheelin' Bike Tours! We learned lots of interesting things about New Orleans- past and present. The bikes were comfy and fun to ride, and our guide was super friendly! We'll definitely take another bike tour with FreeWheelin' again! Highly recommend them!
Ligia G
lots of info provided by the tour guide; I did the Creole & Crescent bike tour; we covered quite a large section of the city; Teddy is very knowleadgeable and fun (I just wish she would speak slower); he was waiving at friends when he recognized on the street; also I've got some good tips about restaurants from him that I later visited (like Lil Dizzy's caffee, Coops place); the tour passes through well off areas (on Esplanade Ave) and not so well off; I enjoyed it very much.
Laura Pechukas
JJ was an amazing tour guide. He gave me a whole new prospective of the city. After this tour, I would say New Orleans is one of my favorite cities. We got to see so many different aspects of the city and I walked away amazed and truly fascinated.

I can’t say enough good things about our Creole and Crescent tour with Laura! Her knowledge of the area and her enthusiasm and sense of humor were both educational and entertaining. We only had a short time in the area, and I’m so glad we chose to spend it on this tour. If we had another day, I’d definitely go back and take one of their other tours as well. Well done! Thank you!
Chad Steck
Laura was energetic, knowledgeable, and fun. She made sure the group was together and safe. The cocktail (or coffee) break was a nice surprise. Our family had a lot of fun. Would definitely recommend!

Wow! Thank you for the fantastic experience! I'm born and raised in Baton Rouge so I'm very familiar with NOLA (or at least thought I was) but my girlfriend is originally from St. Louis. We both enjoy spending a weekend in New Orleans every so often, treating ourselves to the world class restaurants. carriage rides, and night life. 2 weekends ago, we decided to try something different and decided to take a bike tour around the city. A friend recommended Freewheeling so we headed there. I've worked in customer service my entire life so I'm naturally critical and it means a lot to me. The Freewheeling staff immediately made us feel like the most important people in the city. They truly love their city and their company and went above an beyond to accommodate us. I was happy just to have a bike but my girlfriend was concerned about comfort and they went above and beyond to make sure all adjustments were made to accommodate her and provided her with the best seat available. We spent the day riding at our own leisure rode MUCH farther than we expected and had much more fun doing it then I ever would have imagined. Whether you're a rookie or a veteran to the NOLA experience, doing it on a bike allows you to truly get a feel for the city. Stopping for coffee, riding to the river, through the Quarter, all of it is better from a bikes view and at your own pace and seeing what you want to see. All while doing it with the person you love makes an experience that you'll never forget. As we returned the bikes, we struck up conversation with a group returning from a tour and their joy and satisfaction was immediately apparent. I feel like we missed out even though we just had one of the best days of our lives. Next trip, Stella! for dinner, brunch at Cafe Amelie and a bike tour with Freewheeling that afternoon. I'm already too excited to sleep!
Anne Havermans
Best thing we did in New Orleans! It was great to see the beautiful and colorful neighbourhoods outside of the French quarter. Laura is a lovely woman and we had so much fun biking around with her. Thanks!!
Dave Chilton
We had a wonderful time on our ride today. Laura was a fantastic tour guide and I’d highly recommend this option to anyone in who is decent shape. We had a good mixture of 20 year olds to 60’s. All seemed to really have a great time.

Almost a year later, and I'm still spreading the good word about FreeWheelin'. I wish I could give them more than just 5 stars. I went to New Orleans for the first time last May, and we signed up for this bike tour. It ended up being just about the BEST part of our trip, (right next to partying on Bourbon). We took the "Mardi Gras, Mansions and Movie Stars Tour," (Garden District), and it was the best way to see the city and learn about the culture and history of New Orleans and Louisiana. Our guide, and shop owner, Ryan, is a pure-bred local with a ton of knowledge. He was upbeat, and interesting, with a fun attitude and an awesome accent. I was actually sad when the tour was over. It was like we could have been friends. The bikes were very comfortable and easy to ride, and they fit them to you perfectly. The bells are the best part. ;) And don’t worry about the heat, if you go during those hotter times, (as we did), the breeze from riding makes it really nice. You spend a lot of time cruising in the shade, (and they give you water), and you’ll stop for food/beverage breaks. Just remember your sunscreen! I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city. I had such a memorable and fun time. I could go on and on and on about how fantastic this experience was, but go see it for yourself! You will not regret it!
Alex Galloway
Great tour with an interesting and fun guide. Enjoyed seeing parts of New Orleans that I would have overlooked without the tour. It was my first time to the city and the tour provided insight to the interesting history and dynamic present of the city.
Callie Ware
I loved the Creole and Crescent tour! Laura, our tour guide, was awesome and the ride left me wanting to pack my bags and move back to the city. The pace allows you to appreciate the colors and quirks of shotgun houses in the area. We breaked for tasty beignets at Morning Call in City Park and finished up the tour in Congo Square. If you’re going to tour New Orleans, I recommend Freewheelin Bike Tours for a small bite of history and culture while cruising through the city.
Diane & Hermer Gordills
My name is Diane White and I went on the Marigny/Bywater tour on Wednesday afternoon. Laura was our tour guide and she was awesome: friendly, knowledgeable about the area and interesting. I saw places I never would have seen on my own and would highly recommend this tour. Thanks Laura, for a great afternoon!!
Kim Schoeman
Great way to experience different areas of this beautiful city. Laura was a fantastic guide and ensured we all felt safe and comfortable at all times. Would happily recommend to all levels of cyclists!
Melissa Collier
We had the absolute greatest time with Brett! He was amazing! It was impossible to stop smiling as we cruised through the most glorious parts of New Orleans learning all manner of fun facts. Thank you so much for being such a highlight of our trip!
Gmanndogdeguy
5 star because the owner had the wherewithal to rebook my tour ahead of time. The weather forecast was a deluge, he emailed and texted me to rebook earlier and it turned out to be a very wise decision. Teddy, my guide was knowledgeable, locally born and raised and somewhat of a master of the areas we went. He looked after the group, fast ones and slow and ensured that wherever we went that we were well informed. He put is in touch with locals, told us the good spots to eat and listen to live music. I'd have hired the guy for the whole day if I'd have known.
Caitlin Kennelly
What a trip! Our tour guide, Andrew, was phenomenal! He had a ton of information about the city itself, as well as places to eat, drink, and be merry (or Marie, as the case may be)...I think he might also be in charge of the weather, because it was supposed to storm today and instead was a beautiful and sunny 80* all morning. Highly recommended!
Hali Jenkins
This was by far the best thing I did on my trip. It was my first time to New Orleans. I came into town for a wedding and had extra time. I learned so much history and got to see a lot of the most popular areas all on a very comfy bike! I would do this again in a heartbeat.
Eleny Davis
The tour was amazing!!! I'm a novice ridee and felt completely safe! Everything was organized and Laura was hilarious. I left feeling like I discovered New Orleans. This is a MUST DO whenever you visit.
Erik Wandrag
One of the best bike tours we've ever done. Ask for Ollie.
Amanda Itoku
Teddy took us on a fabulous tour today, Creole and Crescent. Loved getting out of the French Quarter to see a broader piece of the area. Enjoyed a peek of city park and the old oak trees. The coffee stop at CC’s was nice...get the mochasippi. There are many friendly faces in the neighborhood, especially in Treme, and Teddy knew them all. Bikes are comfy and well maintained. Highly recommend this tour. We hope to get the chance to do their other tours.
David Rohr
We had a great time riding bikes in Nola! Definitely worth it to see New Orleans on 2 wheels. Oli has an infectious enthusiasm for the history of the city and for bikes as well. Do yourself a favor and rent a bike!
Dana Goldstein
We took the Marigny Bywater tour with Laura and loved it! Great history of the city, voodoo, civil rights, architecture — with a lovely stop for an outdoor beer. It was so relaxing to bike with a local without having to navigate or look at directions. Highly recommend.
Scott Cameron
This is a good tour of the garden district, fairly informative and the cycling is easy going no hills traffic is busy but they seem to yield to cyclist. It was meant to be a 3 hour tour but ended up back in 2 hrs 30. Could have done with a bit more history or info being complete outsiders to the city and knowing nothing.
Jill Faucher
My husband and I had the pleasure of taking a bike tour with JJ on our recent honeymoon to New Orleans and had the best time! We were able to see parts of the city we probably wouldn't have found on our own traveling by foot. JJ pointed out many beautiful structures and points of interest and told us about the history of these places. We were able to visit Saint Louis Cemetary #3, City Park, St. Augustine Church, the Treme neighborhood and much more! The bikes were comfortable and route is easy for a leisurely ride, and we felt good getting a little exercise on our trip. There is so much more to New Orleans than the French Quarter nightlife, and Free Wheelin helped us see and learn so much more about the city - definitely a highlight of our trip!!! We've already decided we want to take another one of the tours next time we are in town! Thank you JJ and Free Wheelin for the great tour!!
Philip Neelley
Great tour. We did the Queen of the South tour - 2 adults and 3 kids - all enjoyed. Andrew was our tour guide was and he was awesome. Good info, pace, etc. Definitely recommend Freewheelin and Andrew. We will do another of these on our next visit.
David M
Best bike tour in New Orleans. Wealth of knowledge of the history of the city.
Bikes are super comfy and easy to ride and leave me wishing the tour was longer.
jimmie taylor
Took the Saturday morning tour of Garden district. Six riders with guide. The guide was friendly knowledge home grown creole as she discretion herself Laura. We experienced some typical nawleans showers but did not distract from ride. The seats are do comfortable wife had me order them for her bicycle back home. Flat ground easy ride with history and Hollywood stars thrown in for extra. Recommend the exoerience

During my visit to New Orleans for the Jazz Fest my best friend and I were given the idea to try a bike tour from our local friend. We Googled a few options before settling on the FreeWheelin' Bike Tours and I'm very thankful we did.
Ryan was our tour guide and he couldn't of been a better person to lead us around. It was great to learn from a local who actually has spent much of his life in the area. He had ton of facts and information that you couldn't get from anyone else. He has a lot of pride in his business and city and it shows; we actually watched him deal with a customer who was too drunk to ride. Safety was said to be their number one concern and we definitely saw that with this tour.
If you are thinking of doing a tour I would highly suggest FreeWheelin bike tours. I will recommend it to my friends as a great experience and a highlight of our tour.
Krystal Shue
It was a beautiful sunny day with a good breeze when the tour began, Teddy was my tour guide. It was such an amazing time and I learned so many things about this amazing city. I saw where voodoo is practices and houses that lean, marks from hurricane katrina. We also went to morning call, a little cafe in city park and I tried alligator for the first time. I highly recommend doing this tour, you wont regret it...just remember sun screen, happy riding!

My friend and I rented two bikes for Jazzfest 2019 here. The guy who helped us get set up with our bikes was super friendly and helpful. We had reserved ahead online and they had our reservation on file. They happened to have two special ‘Jazzfest’ bikes they had ordered in to test out...complete with LED lights in the wheels and on the frame that we could turn on when we wanted...big hit! The bikes were comfy and equipped with a basket and lights to attach for night riding. We have rented bikes at various places in Nola for 6 years and this was the first place we’ve had that allowed 24 hour return! That right there convinced us there’s nowhere else we need to try. The process was super easy and our bikes were awesome on the bumpy pot-holes streets! We will be returning in 2020 for sure and will likely check out their tours next time too. P.S....can you hold those Jazzfest bikes for us next time??
Victoria Hardee
This is the absolute greatest place!!! If you want to rent bicycles or scooters this is the place!! The owner is the BEST!! Whether you’re just looking for a great place to eat or history on New Orleans he is your guy!!
Dennis Butler
My bike tour what's pretty awesome. Our guide was very knowledgeable. And as much as I visit New Orleans I still learned alot of things. Also vises parts of New Orleans that I never would have. Great tour

“Wonderful tour of the Garden District”
5 of 5 starsReviewed April 7, 2015 NEW
My two teen daughters and I wanted to see the city outside of the French Quarter (which we saw walking around on our own). We booked the Queen of the South tour the night before & I am glad we did.
Our guide, Mike, was great & customized the tour to us since we were the only ones in the group.
We even learned about the krewes - fascinating! The highlight for us was seeing a Banksy.
Safe, fun, informative, & accommodating. The bikes were in great shape. Easy ride - the hardest part was getting used to no hand brakes.

Outstanding ride and living history of New Orleans today...so much more to this city than Bourbon Street! Andrew, our guide, provided a unique perspective of the real city, its rich culture and lovely people who make NOLA so special. Thanks for a great day!
Babatunde Kolawole
Looking for a good time in NOLA? Take a bike tour. You can travel all over those touristy parts that you want to know and love, and your guide, ours was Teddy, excelled in knowledge of the city he has been in his entire life.
Chelli Comeaux
The best ever!!! We had so much fun today. I’ve been to New Orleans numerous times since I am from close by but never knew the itty bitty details. Definitely worth it.
Berkley Driskill
Loved our bike tour of New Orleans. Oliver could not have been a better tour guide. Even after our tour was over we returned the next day to rent bikes for the afternoon. Thanks so much!
Dave Kahat
Outstanding bike tour! Extremely informative yet casual. Do this early on in your trip to New Orleans so you can learn what to do later on! Highly recommend!
Shelby Rodger
Fantastic bike tour through the Garden District! Our tour guide, Andrew, was super knowledgeable and safely took us through the streets of New Orleans to experience this beautiful city in a whole new way.
Meggan Mclaughlin
We really enjoyed Oliver's tour. We learned about New Orleans history and got to see neighborhoods and parks we would not have seen otherwise. Fun and perfect pace for our group.
Daniel Erickson
We rented a pair of bikes last week and had a great time (we didn't do a tour). Bikes are custom made at the shop. We rode for 4 hours and the seat was very comfortable. We had no problems, everything went well. I'd recommend them.
Sarah Key
We had a great time with no complaints at all. The bikes are comfortable, safe, and well maintained. Oly (hopefully got the name right) is hands down awesome, passionate of the city and informative. I'd highly recommend this if you are physically capable. Not our first, or last trip to Freewheelin!
Morgan Johnson Saxena
Teddy definitely knows and loves his city! It was the perfect way to learn NOLA and we had a great time. There are so many options for tours and we are lucky we chose them! Would recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic way to see a bit of the city and learn the history! Teddy was a fun, energetic and very informative tour guide! This was a perfect way to start our special NOLA ladies trip!!
Shea
Wonderful tour! Glad we were able to make the time to do this tour and learn so much about the food, culture and history of new Orleans. Super fun!

In my opinion the best way to see and get to know a city is on a bike. This is especially true of New Orleans where the traffic is laid back and the streets are bike friendly. Ollie from Free Wheelin' Bike Tours led us safely through the French Quarter and various neighborhoods including Treme, stopping to explain points of interest and giving interesting anecdotes. We made our way to the gorgeous City Park where we stopped to have beignets and iced Cafe au lait. The very simple to ride bicycles were especially made by the American Bicycle Rental Company with big comfortable seats. Ollie took pride in having made a number of these bikes himself. My husband and I took the “Creole & Crescent Tour”. The pace was leisurely and we enjoyed every minute of our 3.5 hours. I would do this tour again if I return to NOLA and give it my highest recommendation.
Jeffrey Copeland
Great time. My 3rd tour with this company and I can’t recommend them enough. Easy pace, nice people, and local view of New Orleans. I have now done all 3 tours. Hopefully they create another for my next trip.
tboogielicious
Andrew was an amazing tour guide and very knowledgeable about New Orleans and it's rich history. Do not miss out. You will love this bike tour.

Jonathan was awesome! Very knowledgeable and terrific anecdotes. He kept the group at a good pace and safely negotiated us through traffic. Also, gave lots of great restaurant and entertainment recommendations for that beer after the ride.
Karen Patch
We had a great experience with FreeWheelin' Bike Tours. We took the tour through the Garden District with Ryan. He is a local and very knowledgeable about all of the sites we saw. It's just enough biking and stops to get a good sense of architecture, history and views of the stars mansions. We would highly recommend them!
Michael Malone
Our family was in town for the day and it proved a great way to see the city and get a little history. Staff was very friendly, Laura was a fun and knowledgeable guide. Bikes were pretty cool too!
Susan LaBonde
The tour was an amazing ride through neighborhoods & City Park. Our 5th generation native guide was knowledgeable & fun!!!
Jen Schindler
My husband and I went on the garden tour. What an amazing way to experience this section of New Orleans! I recommend the bike over walking. You can see way more when you're on a bike.
Scott Sanders
Solid bikes, fair pricing, and great service. We've already recommended them to others and will continue to do so.
Mim Luetje
Our family of three took the Creole and Crescent tour with JJ as our guide. We lucked out with the weather and with getting JJ. He brought to life the history of the areas we toured, including the Marigny, the first US mint, the social and economic issues of the city, and took us to. City Park He pointed out interesting architectural features and styles, great places to eat, AND kept us safe in traffic. Sunday afternoon was a great time to do a bike tour since the traffic was so light. We highly recommend Free Wheelin!
cliff utstein
Knowledgeable guide but prepared to hear to hear about conspiracy theories as part of the tour.
Megan Lober

Denise Minin
It was a beautiful day, and we had a wonderful guide, Michael, who told us interesting facts about all kinds of things. The homes in the Garden District were beautiful, and the bikes were really comfortable! The place where we stopped to have a little break was really nice and comfortable too.
cShoe Productions
As a Nola native, I thought I had done every kind of tour offered and knew my City inside and out. Then these bike tour photos started popping up on my IG feed and I couldn’t wait for family/friends to come into town to experience a bike tour.
FAR SURPASSED EXPECTATIONS!!! From the moment we walked into their warehouse and did bike fittings to all the various stops along the way including beignets - so so much fun.
You really see Nola in a different (good) way on bikes. I can’t wait for more family to visit to where there’s an excuse to do their other bike tours.
Don’t hesitate - do a Freewheelin Bike Tour asap.
Jeff Kilgore
Laura did a great job! She was very knowledgeable about her city and it showed. I think the best way to tour a city is on bike. I highly recommend FreeWheeln’ Bike Tours.
Becky Ferguson
Third time taking a tour with this company. We get to see so many different parts of new Orleans that we wouldn't get to see otherwise. Would highly recommend these tours to everybody visiting.
Doug Drawbaugh
Well managed operation. Money well spent supporting an independent business as opposed to a subsidised poor operating bike share program. Covered twice the ground in the city in half the time. We even took the bikes on the public ferry to explore Algiers for lunch ($2 each way with no charge for bikes). After walking all day prior, rental bike riding is an underated great value experience in N.O. especially in reach outlying areas.
Marisa Rutherford
My husband and I had such a good time! Teddy (sp?) was funny, knowledgeable, and great at making you feel safe on the roads. We had some crazy drivers around us and he made our paths clear and was great about it all. We would do it again in a heartbeat.
ebay cluster817
This was lots of fun and covered some cool areas of the city with a nice stop halfway for refreshments. Anyone can do this tour, as long as you have some balance. Not hard at all. Laura was a great guide!

Sarah Kostecki
Loved this place. I had an odd request to ship my bike back to NYC after finishing a tour & Oliver helped me break it down and pack it up (and by "helped me" I mean he did it while I watched!). Super friendly and great service. Next time I'm in town I'm definitely coming back.
Dan Edwards
Guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, bikes are very heavy, which is supposed to help with bumps in the road, but for smaller adult riders, not the easiest to maneuver….
judy simon
Fantastic experience. We took the Creole and Crescent tour and then came back the next day to rent bikes. The tour guide, owner and staff could not be nicer. Great American made bikes too!
Richard Williams (RAW Footage ATL)
