Great tour with Chad as the guide. He was informative and fun. We arrived from Ohio to LA at 930AM and this tour leaving at noon was perfect timing. The stops were fun. I felt like I got a good taste of the highlights. Would highly recommended!

Bee was a great tour guide. She toured us throughout Los Angeles showing us the sights. My favorite part was the Farmers Market. Bee was kind of funny and nice. She showed us famous actors and peoples houses. Bee was a excellent tour guide. The tour was fun.

This was a great way to see Malibu in a day. Our tour guide, David, was fantastic! We learned a lot of history, as David was very knowledgeable and he kept it interesting being so upbeat. The van was open air, comfortable, and even had USB charging ports. The stops were good; I would recommend starting out your trip with this tour.

Key was an amazing tour guide. She was super knowledgable, asked what everyone wanted to see/interests and tailored the tour to our group. My phone was dying and she even let me use her battery pack! Would highly recommend this tour for a smaller group setting with personable and great tour guide.

First off they waited for us to arrive 10 minutes late due to traffic. Once we got loaded up, the driver was very informative about all the spots he took us to. We had to shorten a few of our stops to make up for the traffic, but we still had enough time to see everything. The van was not over filled and I got to use a full seat to myself for picture taking. Over all we saved money on gas, parking and guides to see the spots we got to see with the Sun City Tour. One star was removed because the van we had was pretty nasty and they could either upgrade them or clean them up a little better.

Me and my Mom +G-Mom did a 5 hour tour, and it was AMAZING! Our Tour Guide Chad was friendly and very engaging. We went all around LA looking at a lot of the celebrity homes as well as stop at various landmarks. I Enjoyed The Experience and DEFINITELY reccomend others to take A Surf City Tour!!!

Booked the Perfect LA tour with Surf City Tours in July. My flight arrived late to LAX and I was late for my scheduled tour. The staff was very kind and booked me on the next available tour that same day. We toured in a Sprinter van instead of an open top van. We started the tour from the Surf City Tours office in Santa Monica. We picked up a few other tour guests at their hotel before heading to the first stop of the tour. We had about an hour on our own at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Rodeo Drive and the Original Farmers Market LA near The Grove. The celebrity homes part of the tour was fun. My tour guide, Bee, made the tour both fun and educational. She has a great sense of humor!

Very enjoyable 5 and a half hour tour around Hollywood, seeing the studios (from the street), Farmers Market for lunch, Hollywood walk of fame (I'm not so much into celebs myself), and into the hills to see who owns (or used to) various houses. Guide Kelly kept it upbeat and fun.

I really enjoyed this tour of Malibu! The tour guide, David was very friendly and welcoming and he told such fascinating stories about the place itself and all the incredible celebrity houses we saw. Also very intriguing to see some locations used in classic movies! Some very good facilities within the tour as well such blankets on the tour bus for cold weather and power sockets to charge your phone. A highly recommended tour for anyone. You will not regret it.

I recently went on a tour of Malibu with David and it was an absolutely amazing experience! David was a fantastic guide - he was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the tour so much fun. The tour itself was breathtaking - we got to see some of the most beautiful sights in Malibu, including breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the iconic Malibu pier. David was able to provide so much context and background about the area, which really enhanced the experience. If you are in the area I highly recommend taking this tour with David. You will not regret it.

My family and I, truly enjoyed the Surf City Tours.. it was Awesome! Our host/driver did a fantastic job in taking us around to see celebrity homes, Beverley Hills sign, to which we were allowed to get off and take pictures and use the restroom. Also, she took us to see the Hollywood sign and through Rodeo Drive, it was just wonderful and great! We truly enjoyed it and would definitely do it, again. AAA+++ Recommend.

He is a wealth of information.It's very obvious that he enjoys what he's doing. The vehicle that we drove in was really fun. It has a retro beach vibe to it. David was very informative about Malibu and It's history's. If you're trying to figure out what to do this was a lovely way to spend the day.

What an excellent tour of Malibu! By far the best tour in my time in L.A. The drive along the coastline had such incredible views. The tour guide, David, was lovely and knowledgeable. You can tell he's enthusiastic about what he does! Showed me some of the celebrity houses and took me to some great viewing points where I got some amazing photos. If you’re visiting near Los Angeles or the Hollywood area, you must book this Malibu tour. It was truly the best way to explore and learn about the beautiful city. My wife and I chose the Malibu tour. Our guide David was amazing. Even though we were somewhat familiar with the area, we learned so much of the history of Malibu that we didn’t know. Plus we hit all the landmarks and gorgeous scenery. We also saw celebrity homes and hot spots. I cannot say enough about how fun and informative this was. David really knows his stuff!

FRANK NO LONGER WORKS HERE SO IGNORE HIS NEGATIVE REVIEWS!!! This tour was AMAZING. We had a guest with us from Spain and we flew down for the week. We wanted to be able to relax and see Hollywood and Beverly Hills and have someone show us some stars homes along the way. This tour was perfect for that. Bee was our guide and she knew exactly how to zip in and out of the whole area and maximized our time. She knew all about the area and a whole bunch of the stars homes and was a wealth of knowledge. She kept us entertained the whole time but did not over do it. She began the tour by asking us if there was anything particular we wanted to see and if it was doable in the time we had she would have made it happen. Super cool. The time spent at Rodeo was enough to get the idea and she suggested we cut the star walk by 15 minutes to add time to the Farmers Market. We thought that was a great suggestion. We felt we had ample time at each place and the tour was a great overview of all the locations. It gave us a great visual of all the locations so we could go back on our own later on and explore further if we wanted to. We had so much fun on the tour with her that all 5 of us were worn out at the end of the tour and Bee was the one driving all day!! Some people have complained about driving by locations too fast but the guides have to travel with the flow of traffic but do stop as long as they can when possible. The people at the surf shop were all great and cared that we had a great tour.

Probably the best LA tour I’ve ever been on…and I’ve been on nearly a dozen throughout the past 15-20 years. Hits almost all key elements of the city and considering time constraints, it’s impressive. Our guide, Kelly, was great - entertaining, knowledgeable, and friendly. Will definitely be taking all of our future out of town guests on this tour moving forward. Absolutely recommend!

Epic tour by Surf City Tours hosted and driven by Chad (Rachel?). Chad has a lot of personal experience and knowledge of the area; which made for an easy-going and fun tour. I think the stops we took were perfect for what we wanted to see. The Farmer's Market was very accommodating to all tastes. I would highly recommend this tour.

I recently travelled to Los Angeles for 9 Nights and stayed at a nearby hostel. I am thankful that I found out about this tour online since I was going to travel from the Santa Monica HI hostel to Malibu on my own for an afternoon but would have not been able to see all that this Malibu tour offered. For example, I might have seen a beach or two on my own however Malibu has around 21 miles of beaches and I recommend this tour since it is 5 and a half hours, and you get to see way much more while a tour guide also tells you information such as celebrity homes that you would have no other way of learning unless you are with a guide. Also, this tour will give you the satisfaction of enjoying your visit to Malibu by getting the whole Malibu experience done in one day that will leave you with pleasant memories that you would not experience if you travelled to Malibu on your own. The tour guide David is hilarious and goes out of his way to make your visit to Malibu as awesome as possible. I highly recommend this tour to anybody who wants the best opportunity to see all that Malibu offers.

We did the Hollywood tour yesterday and it did not disappoint!! A fantastic way to see all of Hollywood. Excellent stop off at the farmers market for lunch (recommend the pizza and Bennett’s ice cream). Kelly our tour guide was phenomenal and showed a wealth of knowledge and made everyone feel at ease! We enjoyed it so much that we booked on to the Malibu tour the day after which we also recommend if you see more celebrities and fantastic beaches!!

This is a must do tour if your visiting LA. The open air bus is the best for snapping pics while the drivers are filling you in on the history of Hollywood. There are a few spots to get out, stretch your legs and get amazing pics of LA and the surrounding cities. There's even a stop at a Farmers Market where you can get great food and refreshments. Even more, after the trip, you can walk down to the boardwalk and enjoy all it has to offer as well. This trip is worth the money. For a good time ask for Chad.

We had an amazing time on this 3.5 to 4 hour tour. See the pics for all the stops. Our tour guide was phenomenal, I can’t remember her name from 6 months ago but she was a black female ( I think the only one there) so friendly, funny and knowledgeable and a great driver.

There is opportunity to get out of the bus for pictures at a few different spots as well as a lunch break. I would recommend this tour to anyone that wants to see the beautiful California coast and off the beaten path beach areas.

The tour was great and Bee is awesome!! She even provided me with some bandage for blisters I had on my feet. The 5 hours tour a good amount of time if you have only a day or two to discover few nice spots in LA. The only thing I missed and I thought it was included on the route, was to get closer to the “Hollywood” sign. We could manage to see it, by in a distance, maybe because it’s a bit out of the area we covered, which is totally understandable! Would highly recommend the tour

Really enjoyed the tour. Managed to see lots of interesting places. Our driver, Josh provided useful information about all the places we visited. I think the tour should be 6 hours long, with an extra 10 minutes added to each stop. Rodeo Drive ended up just being a toilet stop with no time to actually walk on Rodeo Drive.

This tour was awesome! The transportation was pretty cool and our tour guy David was lovely. He took care about us by telling everything about Malibu history first, then some information about locals and how they live there and, for sure, a tour of celebrities house/home! The Surf City Tour was very nice. Our driving was Kelly and she was amazing!!! Two things I did not like about the tour was they don't give you a lot of time at the three stops and you don't get close to the Hollywood sign. You only see the sign from the van at distance away. So just know that the Hollywood sign is not a stop, it's more of a pause. The Farmers Market was very nice. Make sure you bring an appetite there because it is a lot of food.

Overall, great experience but I do wish we got more time at the walk of fame and less time at rodeo drive. I think what would put this tour over the top was if we got to go to the observatory. I also thought since there is a picture on the website, that we would get to see the fresh prince of bel-air mansion but unfortunately, we did not. This is still a great option though specially if it’s your first time in LA because you don’t have to deal with driving or finding a parking spot. It was nice to be dropped off and picked up and drove around so you can take pictures. Celebrity homes was fun to see but they’re so hidden that you don’t really get to see much/ not able to take pictures. My guide was Kelly and she was amazing though!

Geo, the Tour Bus Driver, was really awesome, he makes it a really fun experience. This guy has a headful of trivia, and show business facts, that is really impressive. In many cases, (Al Pacino), it seems as though he has interacted with some of the stars, he knows what kind of cars they drive, etc. Plenty of photo opportunities, and the Farmer's Market lunch stop was perfect. We ate at a place called" Marmalade Cafe' ",had the best food of all the restaurants we visited in LA. Great trip, bring cash for tipping the driver, he's worth it!!!

We did some celebrity home sight seeing, went to Hollywood boulevard to look at the stars and had some free time at LAs original farmers farmer. We booked the Hollywood Hopper Tour with the understanding we would have 10 minutes at the Hollywood sign and 30 minutes at Hollywood Boulevard. We were not given the 10 minute stop for the Hollywood sign and given 25 minutes for Hollywood Blvd and 15 min of that was waiting in line for the bathroom. Tour guide seemed very knowledgeable. Tour bus was not what was advertised either. We were expecting an open area seating arrangement. We got open area but picture a cargo van with the windows removed. Four bench rows (12 people), 1 in passenger seat, and 1 driver (14 people total). Those seated in the middle were unable to see anything unless it was directly in front of them. That was a little unfortunate. Overall, still glad we went but don’t have super high expectations.

Bee was our tour guide and she was fantastic! I feel like I could spend days with her hearing about her celebrity stories. I loved the open air of the bus and it was exciting when we were driving around the winding roads seeing the celebrity homes. We booked the 3 1/2 hour tour because we were short on time and felt like we got a good taste of the big LA tourist attractions within that time frame. One thing to be wary of- we booked the tour on Trip Advisor and the description and itinerary seemed to differ from that of the actual Surf City Tours website. We learned that the 3 1/2 tour doesn’t stop at Rodeo Drive and potentially not at the Hollywood sign but the Trip Advisor itinerary we saw specifically mentioned stopping at those places so it confused us. It seems like these were guarantees on the 6 hour tour but that distinction didn’t seem apparent on the website. Maybe this is something that can be fixed because it could be a dealbreaker for some. All in all this tour seemed worth the money and we had a lot of fun with Bee.

You did have to choose your lunch spot between downtown Malibu and the Pier which was really tough, I would have loved to see both, however it did give you a great overview if you wanted to return on future days of your holiday. Would highly recommend this tour with Dave!

Giving 3 stars here as per below pros and cons: cons: - Driver talked nearly the entire time and quite loud on speaker . not even allowed to talk to colleagues seems over the top- the whole family complained on that - not enough time at farmers market, the best stop in our view - timing of stops could work around lunch or make sure people know they are stuck for hours until a real food stop - could possibly be less driving around time, more time at stops pros: - drivers humour and knowledge - great vehicle - staff at shop were very friendly - nice stops as advertised

Interesting and fun. But scary when the driver was driving through the hills on the celebrity home tour. The roads are very twisty and filled with sharp curves. The driver took these at speeds that would slide us to the other side of the bench seat.

Wow... what can I say other than YOU NEED TO DO THIS TOUR!!! It's literally amazing from start to finish! David our tour guide was so passionate he knew so much about the history of Miami, its incredibly interesting and fascinating! David also only shows current homes of celebrities, not previous ones which we loved! Nothing more annoying about hearing how a celebrity used to live in that house 10 years ago! We got to go up and see 360° view of Miami at point Dume! So many wonderful places to see and we had lots of stop offs! Even down to the end when we were on our way back David had put together a great playlist all referencing california, miami etc! We had the most wonderful day in Miami and cannot be thankful for David for showing us this beautiful place!!

I went on the Perfect Tour which lasted for 5 1/2 hours from 10:00 AM until 3:30 PM. The tour starts and ends in Santa Monica, very close to the Pier. The tour guide was Alicia and she was great. We made 4 stops during the tour in the Hollywood Hills, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Farmers Market for lunch, and Rodeo Dr. It's a good way to see some nice areas of LA in a short period of time.

The tour overall the good. However, online it advertises a stop at the Hollywood sign to take pictures and this is not true. When I asked the guide about it he said that they just haven’t removed that part from the website since they don’t stop there anymore. It was disappointing since we were only in LA for the day and one of the main reasons we chose this tour was for the Hollywood sign stop.

Kelly was our tour guide, she really knows all about LA and the sites to see. Even got to experience the lovely LA traffic. Farmers market is a real treat, our family really enjoyed it. Only thing I wish Kelly did differently would be to slow down and allow us to take in all the sites, especially when we went to see the Hollywood sign I would recommend that you bring a jacket as the temperature in the afternoon drops very quickly. We enjoyed our big 5.5h LA Tour with Bee. She had something either interesting (historical or celebrity-related) or funny to say all the time. The bus could fit around 12 people in the back so not too big so very convenient to park or pull aside to let the guide explain something. It had a little roof top but no walls so perfect to block the Sun and allow for good view and pictures at the same time. The view in Bel Air and Hollywood hills was stunning. We stopped to eat for about +1h. We saw a lot of celebrity houses but be aware that celebrity house usually means privacy so do not expect to take pictures of the houses all the time as most of them are far away from the road and/or hidden behind huge gate and trees. Bee (the guide) said many stories regarding some houses. I would not recommend the tour for kids less than 14 since the tour is mostly about houses in different areas, Rodeo drive Beverly Hills very luxurious store area and Hollywood Hall of Fame stars but that’s my own opinion. Budget about $20 tip per person for the tour.

We had a short time to tour in LA, but we received the BEST experience from Surf City Tours. Our tour guide Bee picked us up at our hotel. Bee is an exceptional tour guide. Her knowledge of LA, Beverly Hills, Laurel Canyon and Santa Monica is impressive. Not only did we see all the sights and learn a lot about celebrities and their homes, take photos at the Hollywood sign, shop on Rodeo Drive, see the Walk of Fame, and eat at the Farmers Market, but we also learned about the area's history, its iconic symbols (from street signs to signage to statues), its gardens, and so much more. Bee is so funny and so vibrant as she drives you about in an open air touring bus. She took great care of our whole group. 5 Stars!

Exceeded expectations!!!! To start, David is such a fun, cool, welcoming tour guide. His van come equipped with open air seating for enjoying the cool breeze AND phone charging stations! The tour is also DJ’d with musical playlist applicable to the tour. Not only did I get to see beautiful celebrity Malibu homes and scenery, I also was pleasantly surprised to learn about Malibu’s rich history from its origins to the recent catastrophic fires of 2018. There were plenty of stops for photos, shopping, and beach reconnaissance. The 5.5 hours went by fast, and I left feeling 100% satisfied with my decision to book this tour! David, THANK YOU!!!!

Beware that everything advertised isn’t what you’ll experience. The bus pictured isn’t the one used. All the sites advertised and celebrity homes listed on the webpage isn’t visited including Rihanna’s home & the Kardashians. Misinformation on the site and in email correspondence about parking. Bring a jacket BC it’s chilly on the bus as you ride down the coast. Ladies, bring a scrunches or hair clip, too. It would have been great to go on the beach and walk past celebrity homes to get pictures from beachside. David, the tour guide was very knowledgeable. Great info share about the history of Malibu. We saw Simon Cowell and many celebrity homes. Pls note the mtg place/office is a surf shop down the street from the Santa Monica Pier. It was a great tour but I was a little disappointed BC my full expectations wasn’t met as it relates to the experience. Expectations: Do what’s advertised.

This tour was also great in the aspect that there were only about 15 people in the van so we all had the option to see our own personal attractions. We got to go through Beverly Hills, stop and walk at rodeo drive, walk through Hollywood, stop for lunch at the original farmers market, and got to drive through celebrity neighborhoods while viewing the Hollywood sign! let me rave about david. last august, i went on this malibu tour and he was our tour guide and i fell in love. when my aunt, cousin, and i came back to santa monica this year we knew we wanted to go on his tour again. he is charming and very informative. you can tell he did a lot of research and the things he taught us about was not surface level information. he has a bomb playlist and the drive is gorgeous. he has good energy that puts you in a wonderful mood, i saw beautiful views and was able to see some dolphins, different beaches in malibu, and several homes that celebs currently reside in. kudos to you david for creating an incredible malibu tour <3

Overall the experience was nice. This was my first time in Santa Monica/LA. I was a little disappointed our tour guides microphone stopped working at the beginning of the tour. The tour guide then stated " it hurts to talk loud" since he had to yell due to no microphone. I feel we would have been given a better tour with more info if this had not happened. Secondly the tour advertises on their website you'll spend an hour at the Hollywood walk of fame. For whatever reason the tour guide only gave us 30 minutes. We felt rushed. Also it's advertises on the website we will spend 30 minutes at "Redeo Drive." We only did a drive by and never stopped. Overall it was nice and tour guide friendly but not worth the price due to the microphone issues and feeling rushed.

Had a day in L.A. to see the city. Chose surf city tours and I was very happy with the experience. Chad was a great guide and made it a really fun experience. The 5 1/2 hours felt like just enough that you weren't exhausted at any point and he always kept us entertained. The truck wasn't amazing, but that was the last thing on my mind.

Amazing must do tour!!! - We had a fantastic time on this Malibu Beach and Celebrity Homes Tour! David is an amazing tour guide and so so knowledgeable and fun! He knows all of the best houses and spots to see. So happy we were able to stop at Point Dume and see the amazing views! David also was so kind and offered to take me to get a magnet for my collection. He went out of his way to make everything special for us. Amazing Malibu tour with our guide David! He was funny and very knowledgeable about both Malibu’s history and the celebrity housing situation. We learned a lot, laughed a lot, and had a blast! This tour is perfect if you want to see beautiful Malibu and plenty of celeb related stuff (we saw a few in the “wild”). All around, this tour is a must.

We had the great fortune of having not only an amazing guide-Tylib, but also amazing bus mates. Tylib was extremely knowledgeable and hilarious. He was courteous and so respectful to each guest and kept us entertained the entire journey while keeping us safe with his responsible driving..the hills are no joke! The length of time and the route were just perfect to see all the hot spots while also spending enough time at each place. 100% recommend this tour and I hope Tylib is your guide!

Talib really made this tour #1 amongst things we did in Santa Monica. The tour bus left promptly and Talib created a funny and lighthearted vibe for all 13 guests. He spoke well with an appropriate volume so we could all hear him, even when noisy cars or motorcycles passed us on this 5 hour experience. He was informative and knowledgeable about the area and took care to keep us safe and happy. He kept us on time as we visited all the highlights we hoped to see. Part of me wants this tour to keep being a well kept secret, so I can easily snag a spot for friends & fam. But to be fair, I have to give an honest review: Of the tons of city tours I’ve been on (London, Paris, Dubai, NYC, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles...), this Malibu tour is somewhere at the top. After living in LA for the past 20 years and visiting all the hotspots along PCH (Nobu, Geoffrey’s, Moonshadows, Paradise Cove Beach…), I suspected there’s more to Malibu, and finally decided to take a tour with a professional guide. After researching online, I took this tour offered by Surf City Tours last Friday, after a stressful (!) work week. Zipping down PCH in the open, shaded bus listening to The Beach Boys’ Surfin’ USA and other oldies filled me with nostalgia… Malibu’s history narrated by our tour guide, David, swept me back in time to 19th C Malibu and the Gold Rush Era… the fresh, cool air and sublime scenery of the hidden beaches that we visited rejuvenated me… the multimillion dollar celebrity homes inspired me… It was a small group tour, but felt like a private tour. Five hours later my stress had melted away, and I emerged from the tour serene, inspired, and rejuvenated. Our tour guide, David, is such a talented actor/entertainer and kind human being, who delivers not just a tour, but an immersive experience. No wonder I repeated the experience just days later. I now know where to bring stressed out or hard-to-impress friends & family - both locals and out-of-towners.
