It was a great experience. We arrived very early so as to not miss the ride. Our guide, Nelly, was fabulous. She let us meet the horses, provided helmets, and gave us a quick run down before the other riders arrived. The instructions provided before hitting the trail were very easy to understand. We did the paramount ranch trail ride and on the trail, Nelly kept an eye on all the riders. The horses were great! They loved the water! The scenery was amazing! We saw a lot of birds, butterflies and even other horses on the trail. After the ride we were allowed to give our horses apples that we brought for them. We will definitely do the longer ride next time! Thanks Nelly and Malibu Riders for a great time on the trail.

Our guide Haleigh was awesome! She literally made conversation with everyone on the tour! Made it a point to know all of our names. She also made sure we were comfortable with our horse. The trail ride was peaceful and very pretty mountain sceneries. My husband an I truly enjoyed the easy going ride. The horses were so well behaved! They knew exactly what to do and where to go. Would recommend Malibu riders to anyone in this area! Thanks again for the long lasting memories!

Such a fun experience. We did the Zuma Canyon 1.5 hour ride. Our guide Nelly was great. She checked in with everyone constantly during the ride. The views were beautiful, and you can see the ocean on your ride. My horse was Trillion and he was so easy besides wanting to eat everything in sight on the trail. There are some steep parts of the trail so just be aware. Definitely listen to the tips they tell you before and during the ride. Super easy finding the meeting spot.

I loved my experience. The guide Nelly was very knowledgeable and friendly. She knew her way around the trail and made it very fun. The horses were amazing and very well behaved. The trail was good for beginners as well as more experienced riders. Will definitely be booking another trail to ride soon with them. I ended up booking another ride with them 2 weeks later and as expected it was a great experience. The 2nd time I went, I did the hour and a half Zuma Trail with beach views. The views and landscapes were beautiful and worth the money.

We had 4 young girls and a couple were very nervous! Our guide, Haylee, sorry if I misspelled your name, was amazing. She was so kind and patient with all of us. The horses were great and it was a good trail for beginners. No steep cliffs, which was perfect for us! Thank you Malibu Riders for making my daughter’s birthday party unforgettable! We will be back for sure🥰

Excellet experience, highly professional and fun! I was nervous (kinda scared of horses from past experience) and the guide Haylee took such good care of my family and I. I would go again 100 times. Super easy to book, everything was ready and setup for us, the horses were really nice and the guide Haylee took really good care of us and was very involved and attentive. Great experience!

2nd time riding with Malibu Riders, had a lot of fun! Our guide, Haylee, was amazing, super kind, and patient! Did the 1.5hr Zuma Beach trail, the weather was perfect in December for a colorful sunset and perfectly clear ocean view. It was beautiful!

The horseback riding adventure with Haylee was good. There are moments that can be improved such as the instructional part she was. A bit flustered when speaking and at moments it was confusing. The actual tour was great the trail is beautiful, she even took photos of us at a midway point and shared. Her personality is perfect for the role!!

What a Great Experience to have in California, Definitely a must do if you are in Malibu Area, My Wife and I had fantastic time horse back riding, what a great gift for our Anniversary. beautiful view. Our Guide Chris was very friendly and experienced, she also told us that we were in the same place where West world was shot along of other tens of dozens of movies, that's pretty cool to know. Be sure to wear jeans, bring sunglasses, hat with string and apply sunscreen and you are all good to go for your trip. Definitely recommended, and we will do it again once we are back in California.

This was an experience of a lifetime!!!! I was in LA and decided to do something more exciting so I booked with Malibu Riders. At first all the rules, statements and notifications seem overly strict and intense but don't worry, the actual experience isn't. I would recommend you read the descriptions about the type of horseback ride. I made the mistake of not fully reading when I chose the canyons. I thought we'd be riding "around" the canyons until I was riding up and through them. The heights are gorgeous but also terrifying on horseback if you are acrophobic. Our guide Chris was knowledgeable, kind and reassuring. She made my fear much more manageable. Even my horse went slow so I could feel safe. One thing for sure this was sooo scenic and amazing. The views! You have to see the views at the top of the canyons!! 😍🙌🏾!! I'd recommend this to anyone and everyone. If you feel like it's costly, remember to spend money on experiences instead of things. You'll have the memories forever

We had a great guide, but the Paramount trail was boring. We did not make any stops to take some photos along the way. Would not recommend this particular trail. Also horse tack was old and ripped, for the price they are charging I would think that they would have enough funds for an upgrade. It does not seem like these horses are well taken care of. We visit the equestrian center every week and you can tell when horses are pampered and when they are just used for income purposes.

Today, me and my daughter took the Zuma Canyon trail and it was amazing! Our guide was very fun and was talking with us the whole time. We felt very comfortable and safe. She did such a great job explaining how to ride. The horses were very clean and well trained. Had such a great time I would recommend 100%!

My ride was awesome…. Our guide was very attentive and really knew the horses and the area… my 1st horse had to be switched as she was favoring her left front leg. We only went a few feet and I noticed something didn’t feel right, before I expressed my concern, our guide immediately took action and got me another horse… a spicy guy named Trillion…being an experienced horse woman, I handled him fine… we became great friends… I believe our Guide was Seneca? Please forgive me if I have the incorrect…. She was great! And please correct me on her name… I want to make she is recognized… It was a rainy day, however it still was a beautiful morning ride… I will be back to do another ride!!!

This was fun! The horses are so beautiful. The trail was beautiful too. There were uphills and downhills. I was scared, but Apple, my horse, knew what he was doing. Nelly was super nice, patient, and enthusiastic. This wasn’t one of those places that just throws people on horses to make money. They love their horses and take good care of them. We took a bag of carrots and had some fun giving the horses a treat after the ride. They were so gentle in taking the carrots from our hands. I would definitely go again. We did the 60 minute ride. I would want to try the 90 minute one where they can go by the water too. Totally recommend this!

My husband and I had an amazing time on the Paramount Ranch trail. Chris was a great guide! She was very kind, fun and helpful. She made sure all the riders were comfortable throughout the entire ride. The views on the trail were absolutely spectacular, we would definitely do this again.

I had an awesome time! My mom and I went on the 1.5 hour Zuma Canyon ride with the ocean view. Our guide Haylee took great care of all of the riders and the horses. She was very personable and informative. It was a little dusty on the trail so if you’re sensitive to dust, you may want to bring a bandana. Would highly recommend Malibu Riders!

Upsides: Our guide was quite nice and careful about the safety of the riders. The trail was very pretty. And the horses were cooperative. Downsides: We spoke to the company before the ride about whether or not sunset was a nice time to do it (summertime). We expected to see a semblance of sunset but that was not the case. In addition, the ride ended 25 minutes before the 1/1/2 hours was completed. Note: We paid a lot of money for a sunset AND a 90-minute ride. We saw no sunset and our ride was only 65 minutes.

My family of eight and I had an amazing time all thanks to Chris!!! She matched each of us up perfectly with our horse. A lot of us were beginners including my 8 year old and 13 year old boys which she kept a close eye on. Because of her care my normally nervous 8 year old rode with no fear. She had both kids ride up front with her which meant she had to answer 1,000 questions and she did it with a smile. Nothing was a bother to her and she kept repeating with a smile, “I love my job” and it showed. Chris led us around pointing out neat things around the trail. She knew all the personalities of each horse and helped us to manage them when they tried to stop to eat or when they wanted to play in the water. Chris also took photos of us riding. My family and I had smiles ear to ear the entire time, I highly recommend riding here and ask for Chris!

I have been on a handful of these guided horseback rides in different places and this was by far the best one I have experienced. Beautiful views, great guides, wonderful horses. Felt great the whole time. Only compliant is that I wish it was longer! Worth every penny.

HAd a great time! Beautiful views and Ashley our tour guide was great! A few things to note that aren’t in the welcome email: if you want to wear a hat it needs to have a step that secures it to your head as ball caps are not permitted since they can fly off and spook the horses. Also, no need to bring a bag as extra things are not permitted. There is no cell service at the trail head so plan ahead if you don’t have your own car!

Would have liked a smaller group and horses more matched to our ability/experience riding. Ashley/Leader was great - very engaging. it would have been better if she was mounted instead of walking ( we could have increased the pace).

What a wonderful experience! Would recommend this to anyone. The horses were friendly, the guide (we had Haylee) was amazing! The guide absolutely made this trip great, and I wish she was paid salary instead of banking on tips, but she deserved every bit of it anyways.

We had 7 kids ranging from 11-18 who did the Agoura Hills one hour ride with Nelly. They all had a blast and especially enjoyed learning more about the horses and their hierarchy. It was a perfect way for them to spend a couple hours!

We had such great time! Our guide Ashley was personal, patient and caring with my nine years old. Folks please don’t be late. There is a reason why you supposed to come ahead of time: to go over safety rules, check on your forms, fit into helmets, get introduced to your horses etc. It’s disrespectful to other participants and to your guide when you show up late. Have fun and be on time.

Overall great experience. Hailey, our guide, was friendly, attentive, and in full control of the group. Views from the top of the trail were stunning. (A note that detracted from a 5-star experience: a couple in our group arrived extremely late; the female was more interested in taking selfies than the ride, neglecting the horse that kept stopping and eating the brush. Annoying beyond words.) Remember this is a trail experience with groups of mixed riding levels, so don’t expect any faster than a slow walk.

The instructor Nelly was amazing the horses too, but I think since I’m a beginner rider I should have stuck more to a flat path then going straight uphill and then straight downhill because it was a bit scary for me. I think I need to take more horseback riding lessons before I do that trail again, but overall this is an amazing company and I would definitely recommend, 100%!

Never riden a horse in my entire life but these horses are well trained and i promise its not as bad as you think! Did the 90 mintue trail and the views were STELLAR! Our Guide/Lead was Nelly and she was SPECTACULAR. She was knowledgeable of the trail and of horses! Super friendly. We had such an incredible experience with Malibu Riders. We started on time, Ashley (our guide) was fun, sprightly, energetic, capable, joyful - she really made the experience what it was. We felt safe physically as well as socially distanced with covid and all. She was so great about taking pics at the lookout (we did the 90 minute trail) And the horses were well behaved and good natured. We loved every minute of it and will be sure to do it again!

One of the best trail rides! My husband and I travel a great deal and it's become tradition to ride everywhere we go. It's nice to have Malibu Riders so close to home. This has become our go to local place to ride. The guide is so knowledgable and has a lot of experience and love for the horses. She's very nice and engaging which in turn makes everyone feel comfortable. It was nice to see life coming back to the trail from the fires 2 years ago. It makes you appreciate the new life and old life coming back to the hills of Malibu. The ocean views are breathtaking. My favorite horse would have to be Faye. But they're all great!! I highly recommend this place! Can't wait for our next ride!

Booking an afternoon ride with Malibu Riders was the best activity for my sister and I when she visited from New York City! It was an absolute blast to explore the property with our trained guide and felt like a million miles away from the city. We booked a traditional trail ride where each person in the group (8-10 people) rides in a line through a marked trail. No horseback riding experience necessary! Be sure to arrive early and follow all of their pre-ride instructions, so you don't miss anything. My sister and I packed a picnic lunch that we enjoyed on a shaded picnic table near the parking lot - it was the perfect day. Pro Tips: - Pack a picnic! There's a lovely shaded area near the trailers where you can hang out before and after your ride. - Helmets are optional for adults, but I high recommend wearing one - There isn't much tree cover, so definitely wear sunscreen if you burn easily like me - The Paramount Ranch set burned down in the recent fires, so be mindful of that if you were planning to take tons of photos there

What a treat and brilliant family day out! Took the 10AM Zuma ride with Lexie as our guide and she was amazing. The horses were well cared for, well behaved and the scenery was incredible. I would highly recommend Malibu Riders to take you on a short but very sweet adventure in the Santa Monica mountains. GO FOR IT ... YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Our team of 6 had a great experience riding around Paramount ranch with Lexi. Lexi has great customer service skills, whether it's in the office addressing my questions/concerns, or on the trail handling the horses. She's super upbeat, really helpful, matched the horses to the riders very well, and eagerly shares her vast knowledge. She also takes great care of the horses. After an hour, we had such a good time and bounded so well that it was a little sad to say goodbye to Lexi and her horses.

Great guide and very nicely organized. They ask you to be there 45 minutes in advance and use that time wisely to get the right horse for the right person, make sure everyone has clear instructions, and start the ride right on time. Nelly was one of the nicest most attentive clear guides we've ever had and we've been on a lot of rides. Stopping in the creek to let the horses drink and splash was a highlight. My 10 year old daughter felt really comfortable and taken care of. The Ranch is the best ride for kiddos and people who are a little less sure-footed on a horse, the other rides are higher up and more up and down and along a cliff (but better views). So fun!

Malibu Riders isn’t far from the city of LA. I should say its location is perfect. The backdrop of the Malibu mountains and the ocean is in front makes it a perfect setting for riding. We did a beautiful ride at Paramount ranch on a Wednesday evening with our Tourguide Rosie who was an absolute delight! She chose the perfect horses for us (Malaysia & Legend) and made us feel extremely safe and cared for. She told us about the area and the scenery (including the movies/shows that were shot there) and gave some helpful horse riding tips. She made sure we got pictures as well and also reminded us to bring water and snacks which was so helpful! I recommend also bringing a fanny pack where you can easily access your belongings as well! The weather was perfect and the sunset lighting made it even more scenic than it already was. We will definitely be doing more rides with Malibu Riders as this was the absolute highlight of my month!!! Thank you Rosie & Malibu Riders!

Malibu Riders | Paramount Ranch This place is one of the best location to ride. Friendly Instructors. And the location is very beautiful and therapeutic. I took the family on a surprise horseback riding experience. My mom never has been on a horse, she had trouble, but overall the horses are well trained to follow the heard. So she was safe and that gave me a piece of mind. My dad hasn’t been on a horse for over 40yrs so this was a great day for him. And my sister loved the therapeutic ride. She was knowledgable and kind to the guests while keeping a close eye on the younger and inexperienced riders to help maintain their safety. Last year my husband took me on a private ocean view ride in Malibu for my my birthday and it was so beautiful and romantic! I've been wanting to go back ever since! I've been feeling a little down lately with the Covid isolation, so I got a bunch of my friends together and we did a group ride! Since we won't be able to do our typical Friendsgiving get together, this was a great alternative! We easily stayed 6ft apart, and were still able to chat, laugh, and spend some quality time together. A bunch of us are already taking about coming back next month! Where should I start! This was such a wonderful experience. Exactly what my daughter and I were hoping for. Our tour guide was Ashley and we couldn't have asked for a more informative and kind guide. the horses were well kept, happy and healthy. The scenery was breathtaking granted we were blessed with the most beautiful weather but this was definitely not the usual trail ride. The horses playing in the water was the highlight of our trip. We also took Delight in learning the history of the movies and TV shows that were shot there. We are so grateful for such a wonderful experience.

I loved the Malibu Riders one hour ride in the Santa Monica mountains! Dee was a wonderful, upbeat leader. She obviously has an ability to match riders with their horses. I was hesitant about my horse at first, but once we got started, she was a perfect horse for me. I had not been on a horse for about 25 years, and Dee provided great encouragement and that helped me regain confidence. It was a thoroughly enjoyable the ride, beautiful weather and gorgeous views. Our stop by the creek to let the horses have some water was an extra treat for the horses (and riders). Definitely a worthwhile experience.

When we first called they had no availability but immediately after I hung up they called back with an open spot for us. Mine was a retired racehorse that followed my lead perfectly. We had time to bond with every horse before the ride... because we arrived ON TIME! (You need to arrive before your trail time. Two riders arrived at the trail time and we had to wait for them to get settled. This is rude to do to other riders!!!) Thank you Malibu Riders for an awesome experience and memory we'll cherish. We LOVE Malibu Riders. My husband and I have taken multiple trail rides and, for the first time, took our 9 and 11 year old sons on their first ever horse ride (if we don't count ponies at fairs that slowly walk in a circle). Ashley was phenomenal with our scared 9 year old. She talked him through everything, put him right behind her and chatted him up about everything from his horse's legendary long-distance racing career to what sports he likes to play. Within 10 minutes he was feeling fully comfortable, a little bit like a cowboy and definitely having a great time. We all did. The tour she took us on at Paramount ranch was beautiful, and watching my husband get soaked (optional) while his horse splashed in a little stream made my day. Highly recommend MalibuRiders. The trail is picturesque and horses are so well trained. The guide Nelly was extremely nice and knowledgeable “Should get a raise” such a good soul. I have never been a huge fan of horseback riding, but she made the trail fun, worry free and I will definitely go back again. I hadn’t been to Paramount Ranch since it burned down. The trees and bushes are growing back it looks great up there. Can’t wait for the parks department to build the movie sets again. The trail is still awesome and well worth it. If you are on the fence and not sure just do it. Go to MalibuRiders and have a great time like I did. You will be glad you did.

Took the Paramount Ranch ride today with my friend and my granddaughter. It was sad to see that the old movie town had burned to the ground in the Woolsey fire in 2018 but that did not detract from the ride. Our guide, Alison, was a delight. She was enthusiastic and very professional. Even when my granddaughter's horse acted up a bit, Alison was confident and efficient and everyone remained calm and safe. The ride itself is lovely with pretty canyon views and lots of poppies and other wildflowers. The horses are healthy and well cared for. It was time well spent. I highly recommend it.

The views were spectacular, the horses were well-mannered, everyone on the tour was friendly, and our guide (Chase) was phenomenal - so engaging and knowledgeable! I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone interested in a group horseback riding experience. They were also very good about taking COVID precautions, but not allowing it to put a damper on the experience. COVID was in the backdrop of an otherwise perfect moment. It truly felt like we were in another world for almost two hours. The entire experience was worth every penny and I do plan on re-booking with them again sooner than later.

Our Guide Dee was super sweet, knowledgeable and very calming for nervous riders. She picked appropriate horses depending on each riders comfort level. Horses were very well behaved and pretty much followed the leader horse without much instruction from the riders. Highly recommend.

I had a wonderful experience during the Paramount Ranch Group Ride. The horses were great, the trail was very scenic, and the guides were informative and easy-going. Opportunities for growth: It would be nice to notify riders that they will be met by the guides and horses on location. My group, as well as the other group, weren't sure if we were at the right spot as there isn't an actual structure there dedicated to Malibu Riders. Overall, I had an excellent time! I would definitely recommend, and look forward to riding again with Malibu Riders in the future.

Oh man. Where to start. 100% 10/10 recommend to book through these guys! Me & my partner loved it! The horses are super well trained & so kind. We booked the 90minute trail. The trail itself is beautiful, but I definitely don’t think that it’s a “beginner” lvl trail for those who are uncomfortable going on trails that have steep cliff drop offs. YES, there will be OCEAN views (w/ photo opportunities!) Make sure to talk to your guide & clarify before you step off. We LOVED our experience with Chris! (Christina) She’s super knowledgable, easy to work with, funny, &nice! Highly recommend asking for dates that she’s working when booking. Note: PLEASE read your emails thoroughly about instructions when gpsing there! We drove from far away, so plan accordingly time wise. Will definitely book again! Thanks!

The guides are super sweet and will constantly check in with you to make sure you are comfortable. If there is a specific horse you want to ride, they will take it into consideration. If you are a more experienced rider as well as the people in your group, you can ask to trot and canter and they will do so when it is safe. About half way through the ride you and your group will get to take a picture with your horses. I honestly can't say enough good things about them.
