Reviews of Pinnacle Mountain State Park Visitor Center
Great visitor center, park signs/maps in the front entrance. There's a beautiful quarry in the parking lot and easy access to a few of the trails and a scenic overlook from the top
Great visitor center near a few trails (most notably the Pinnacle Mountain Summit Trails). They have a series of exhibits including a few live animals, bathrooms, and a gift shop offering hiking stick medallions for Ouachita National Forest and Pinnacle Mountain State Park.
We hung out at the park, there was a bench under the trees with all the dried leafs starring at the beautiful lake ❤, I wanted a different spot but my votes don't matter lol kids win all the time, bottom line there's too many choice 😀 …
Best hiking place. Scenic views. Good parking space. Loved it.
Great trail right beside the visitor center. Usually less crowded than than the main trails.
I have been coming to pinnacle mountain my whole life and love it. However, yesterday I rode the paddle boats for the first time and it was a lot of fun! They are available for rent at the visitors center and are $10 and hour I believe. That also includes the use of life jackets. Right now they only have one paddle boat working, which is great for the privacy aspect but its a gamble of whether or not it'll be available to rent. They do not reserve slots or allow call ahead. It is strictly first come, first serve. An hour is more than enough time to paddle around the small quarry. There arent any fish but there's still a lot of wildlife to watch out there and the views of the canyon are beautiful. All in all, it was a lot of fun and super inexpensive to do. I highly recommend for anyone visiting the park!
This center is very nice. Staffs are cooperative. They have small museum which is very attractive. We allow us to touch the crafts that are displayed.
Helpful staff seem to always have an answer for any question that you may have whether it be with the trails or the mountain itself be wary even though you see some people hiking up some places doesn't always mean that's a trail and it's allowed think about your safety first before following someone
What a beautiful area. The park ranger in the visitors center was super friendly. There is a range of trails for hiking or mountain biking.
We did the East-West Summit Trail, returning to our car via the Base Trail. The hike is not long, yet not easy, but the views at the top worth it!! It requires rock scrambling. The East Summit Trail is harder and steeper. If you’re going to do both trails, go East to West. Otherwise, take the West Trail. If you have very young kids, take the West Summit. If your child is agile and 7+, East would be fine. Our trails were well-marked the whole way.
Pinnacle Mountain State Park is a beautiful park. The staff at the visitor center a very friendly and knowledgeable. The hike up the mountain isn't for firs time hikers just because of the incline, but it is a pleasant hike with a spectacular view once you reach the top. I've seen many people take their dogs (some aren't as good about cleaning up after them so watch your step).
Great location close to little rock. The hike to the peak was quite strenuous because of the boulders even though it's only 1.5 miles round-trip. However, the view from the peak is well worth it. Make sure you pack lots of water.
The Visitors Center staffs and state park rangers are fabulous! Wonderful park and the trail going up to the East Quarry trail is amazing! A great view of the Pinnacle mountain and Ouachita Lake.
This is a beautiful park in a beautiful area! This park offers many scenic overlooks as well as foot/bike trails, paddle boating, camping, and fishing! Definitely worth visiting if in the area! The grounds are well maintained as well!
While visiting my mom, I decided to drive up for a morning visit to the park. It was a little overcast this day so it made it very nice outside. Had a great time, make sure you stop at the Visitors Center.
Beautiful place. If you want to hike, better to go as a group !
Nice trail but very popular, there will be crowds here and parking can be a challenge. The trail is nice but you will have to navigate large rocks along the way. Some rocks can be slippery. It's worth the climb for the view. Take plenty of water. Restrooms are located in the park, none on the trail.
Great scenery! We go here several times a year. Awesome place to take the family.
I had the opportunity to be there while the sky was pouring down 🌧 the nature show was spectacular. Amazing place for hiking, to relief the stress of a city, of work, traffic and people. Get wild, get free, love and enjoy the nature. …
Great little paved walkway and a set of stairs to a nice overlook. Great valley view with several old trees with a few hawks on the branches. Very peaceful to sit on the bench (wish the benches had been facing the overlook).
This Visitors Center is great for a nice view and a quick hike. You can park at the visitors center at the top and it's a short walk to the overlook. There are miles of good trails! I you want paved trails and playground go to the Pinnacle State Park area at the bottom.
Awesome trails with many cool sites! We came from Louisiana for a week and it was the first place we visited and was not disappointed.
Gorgeous view of the scenic sight. wish they would clip sum branches for an even better look at the top of the view, but looking to come back to try out some trails next time.
Large beautiful State Park with lots of hikes and stunning vistas. You can drive to the top or hike 3.5 miles to the top from a small parking area/playground/picnic and boat launch area. At the top there's a nice visitors center and abundant parking. Also there's a small lake and an observation platform that's a short hike from the upper parking lot. One of the prettiest places in Arkansas that we've visited.
Didn't really get to visit too much today but here for the week so we'll be coming back for more before heading home. Great for the kids.
Very worth a visit. There is a visitor centre, toilets, and some good and picturesque walks. You could spend a day here hiking and be rewarded with some magnificent views.
Lots of really nice trails that go from easy to very difficult. Great visitor center. Close to little Rock and easy to get to. The mountain bike trails looked good too
Walked to overlook. Very nice! The path was easily managed. Will have to see more next time I visit.
We had an amazing family day here! We were the only ones at the lookout and it was beautiful. The playground was nice and everyone was so kind. Definitely worth a trip back there again. Hopefully hike the trails as well.
I went out there to do a long hike and it was the most amazing walk I have done in a very long time. Not only was the entire walk on the trail very scenic but it was also easy to get around and not get lost because the trees were marked with a certain color which will always let you know that you're on the trail. That's really comforting when you're all over the place and not really paying attention where you are.If you really don't want to walk the trails you can just simply walk up the stairs right in the area where the visitor center is and there is an overlook.
Only the best place in all of Arkansas to visit. 2 trails up the mountain, 1 going around, 2 more easy trails in the park area, plus the rock quarry trail. Visitor center really cool has a see through bee hive. Top notch staff. 2 cool mountain bike trails 1 is short the other is quite technical (at least for me it was). Ouachita Trail also starts there and is a massive hiking trail that goes 175 miles to Oklahoma.
This is not the best trail by looks in Arkansas but it's one hell of a workout and very long trail. You better be ready if you out of shape, especially if you take the hard way up. I've pass people many times trying to recover along the trail!
Nice easy hike to the quarry and overlook. Wildflowers galore and the small creeks were flowing.
We go here several times a year. Awesome place to take the family.
Very scenic overlook. Access to several trails. The visitors center has a lot of fun things to learn about Arkansas, it's flora and fauna. And they have ice cream!
One of my favorite places to visit for hiking with the family! Good birding! I also enjoy the Native Plant Gardens at the visitor center!
Awesome and clean place. Family friendly. Accesible stepstairs for elderly visitors. Beautiful escape to be in contact with nature.
Nice place.there are couple of trails and I recommend the west trail. Round trip is 1 hr and 15 mins.
Perfect place especially if it is windy. When we over there it was raining too.
Totally beautiful. Incredible hike!
Very nice! The scenic overlook is lovely.
Friendly staff! Hands on exhibits! Beautiful area!
This State Park is beautiful, and there plenty of trails to hike.
Beautiful park. Unfortunately the weather was terrible so we went to talk to the folks in the office. They were very helpful. There is a nice e exhibit inside that was very informative.
Wow! Such a beautiful place! So quiet!
Awesome place to let the kids play and fish! The playground is really new and taken care of
It’s a great park. Very clean. Lots of trails with great views. Never met anyone unfriendly hiking here. I usually do the east or west trail that go all the way to the top. The public bathrooms are decent too for a park.
Great views, hard trail. I'm surprised my five year old made it. Boots are good for this trip.
pretty cool. but the manager smells like alcohol.
Very nice place to get started with the park. Kinda like small meusiem with lots of information and artifact. The main attraction was the bee hive which you can see closely which is made inside the glass. Nice view of park from outside and lots of small trials to get started.
Beautiful spot, wish it had been a clear day!
Wonderful place for a star party on a clear night! Multiple hiking trails--easier and gentler for all ages, or the steeper rocky trail for the more experienced. The excellent views on the mountaintop are work the hike! Great visitors center with a big room for groups or classes/lectures, plus a gift shop, bathrooms, and a Coke machine. There are large recycling bins there, too, to help you leave no trace. Drive carefully after dark on those winding roads with no guardrails, and watch out for wildlife.
Nice older visitor center with good views and picnic areas. Bird watching, Conoe rentals, hiking trails , and more.
Beautiful views and trails.
Nice spot to stop, rest, her a drink of water and visit the center. Rangers are friendly and answer questions. Good displays with plenty of information. There is a beehive, made of plexiglass, that leads to the outside. Really neat to see the bees flying in and out. Overlook of the river out back, and quite a few trial heads around the center. Parking can get full on nice weekends and watch our for kids.
This is a really great place to walk and hike and also take breathtaking pictures! And it also has really great bike trails!
The scenery here is amazing!
Not an easy trek. But worth the be effort.
Very informative and helpful staff. We interacted with Don, he gave us great tips about how to spend our time there.
We will definitely visit again.
A really nice state park and visitors center
Beautiful views and great visitor center!
Great escape. If you are looking for a place to connect with nature or simply do a different type of exercise, this is a really nice place to do so. I really enjoyed every second of it and I will definitely go back. They also have a small giftshop/ museum, wish I found very interesting.
great place to visit. nice trails.
Great climb for a great view.
Didn't go inside the visitor center itself, but there's ample parking here. A few picnic tables (we stopped to eat lunch en route to other activities in the park), and it connects to the Ouachita Trail (which itself leads to Pinnacle Mountain) and a couple other trails and scenic overlooks (the photo I've added is taken from the overlook closer to the VC).
Lots of nature close town for all skill levels from easy to strenuous. Nice little visitors center. Friendly rangers.
Best views of local waterways... get out of the city without need to drive far...
Best views are a moderately challenging path to the top... (for someone in decent shape, with water bottle, in good shoes).
Has refreshment vending and bathrooms.
Pinnacle delivers as a great short hike destination within 15 minutes of Little Rock. Expect to share the trails with other people during fair weather, but everyone we encounter is friendly. Today we hiked the Rocky Valley/East Quarry trail and it was magnificent. The recent rains made it a bit muddy but nothing too bad.
Great park staff. They were very instrumental in helping us with crowd control and parking during a night star party. Very clean facilities with plenty of options offered to us. Thank you . We will be back more often.
I've visited this place multiple times. I love this place. Admission is free. It is pretty rare for such a place to offer free admission. In Virginia, a tiny trail will cost a few bucks to enter. Well done!
I loved the visitor nature center and gift shop. Lots of things to look at... It was like a narure museum! Very informative about local animals and vegitation. The lookout deck on back of it was beautiful in the fall. I had fun!
very well set up and very interactive
Really nice state park but if you have an address that the school has given you, the GPS will take you half way up the mountain. By the way, since I drove half way up the mountain I found out that the have some pretty awesome lookout points that you can drive to and there are location where you can unload your boats.
Always a fun time at pinnacle mountain areas, this time was a star gazing event and it didn't disappoint, our 4 year old loved all the telescopes star watching she was able to do.. highly looking forward to more events like this.
Very nice for a first time visitor. Great view from there.
So gorgeous, hard hike but worth it
They even have a live bee hive! My 4yo son loved this place! Will be coming back!
Amazing beautiful experience love it
Went hiking with our youth group and had a great time. The weather was great last month, the trails were not bad, trash was very little and easy to follow.
Very friendly staff. There are exhibits as well at the visitor center.
Awesome views. Recommended.
Fun and somewhat challenging hike to the top. Great park. A little crowded but we went on a Saturday with beautiful weather.
Just got to stop for about an hour before heading to Louisiana, but had a good time. Would like to come back and hike when I get a chance. Beautiful place.
So beautiful place in the mountains
Such a beautiful place!
best biking in mountains and seeing the views
There were very unique items inside the store and the person working there knew a lot about nature as well as the surrounding trails and was very helpful.
What a Breathtaking sight to see. Now I know why Little Rock is known for their nature. Everywhere I went was beautiful and Pinnacle mountain was no different.
Great views! Friendly staff at the visitor center!
So beautiful, well marked trails, the visitors center has a few trinkets and nice staff.
Unbelievable place. So many different trails according to the level of difficulty. Best place for hiking ☺️.
Great State Park. Beautiful scenery. Those ancient sedimentary mountains (older than the Rocky Mountains) are lovely to see and fun to climb.
I really like this little visitors center. It has a nice little nature center and a fascinating display of a live bee hive. Friendly staff and a nice vantage point from the visitors center. Check it out sometime
Beautiful park definitely worth the ride up.
Great wilderness experience. I'll come back another day to see their trails.
Great people! I rent out their room a couple times a year for get togethers. Very pretty back porch view of the Arkansas River!
Really nice center, has several wildlife exhibits. Picture of Arkansas river historic flooding of 2019.
Beautiful and close to downtown.
Lots of options for hiking and some great vistas. Definitely check it out if you want to hike near Little Rock.
Very helpful and friendly people at the visitor center! We hiked the West Summit Trail. It was well marked with very good signage.
Perfect for a Sunday afternoon
Absolutely stunning views. The summit is not accessible by car, you have to hike up from the parking lot.
Great experience. So much nature.
We cane to visit for the very first time it wasn't crowded. Good Fresh Air!!
Great park. Lots of trails and places too explore. Climb Pinnacle Mountain... you won't regret it!
Not as good as its former glory, too many people visit it now. If you can get there when the screaming children aren't around, it's fairly nice.
What a great place this is! Friendly people, very helpful and knowledgeable. Lots of great stuff for before, during, and after your trip, at very reasonable prices.
Wonderful sights to experience; Easy to medium trails to explore; Well-kept and family friendly.
OMG! WE GOT LOST ON JACK something trail but I we lived to tell the story. It was our first mountain biking experience and an experience it was... fun times...
Love having this in my back yard! one of the many benefits of live in Little Rock. Mountain biking, hiking, & kayaking.
The park ranger was super helpful and informative. He was able to answer all our questions and help us find the trail we were looking for.
We loved it. 💚 …
The trail was awesome. There was plenty of up and down to get in a good exercise.
It's the pinnacle, it's a mountain. IT'S PINNACLE MOUNTAIN! If you're not up for a hike then too bad this isn't the place for you.

Nice place, specially the balcony from where you can see the beautiful Arkansas river!
Very nice center. Friendly staff. Neat stuff to look at, they even have an alligator!
Nice scenic spots within walking distance. Benches right behind the building.
Jackfork mtb trail it's ruff as hell and not very well maintained but still a pretty enjoyable ride
Great!!! Nice view at Overlook, Love to come here, combination of serenity and nature
Nice trails, scenic views. Get ready to walk though.
Very nice views. Friendly staff. Nice little gift shop.
Kids loved the playground here. Only thing they didn't like was no swings
I want to go back, but not on a holiday weekend. It was way too crowded for a state park.
This is a very beautiful area and a fun way to spend the afternoon.
A beautiful park. Would definitely visit again!
The scenery was awesome and park staff were friendly and informative.

Great place to go to
The people who work here are friendly and very helpful. They have a lot of great resources and knowledge to offer. There are bathrooms available.
On a side note: I highly recommend getting a park passport; it is free and suggests some really cool places to visit in Arkansas.
You can also rent paddleboats to go around the quarry pond at the visitor center ($10 for 1 hour, $7 for 30 minutes). Although the boats are all currently needing to be fixed, so.... (I will update you if I hear they are fixed).
(Translation) The sky, air, and corners are the best. It is wonderful to be able to enjoy the natural world normally. It would have been better if it was warm.
