Reviews of Sam Houston Boat Tour
Matthew Barrett
I assume that not many people are aware of this free tour of the Port. I coincidentally learned about it through a Houston Public Media documentary on the history of the port. It's an enjoyable experience for anyone in the family.
The tour takes an hour to navigate and viewers are allowed on the deck to catch a breeze and witness the daily operations that are instrumental to Houston's economic activity. From petroleum refineries to car imports, the port contains a wide variety of industrial services and consumer goods. With that being said, expect to experience various odors as you sail passed these companies.
The boat accomodates what seemed to be approximately 30 people with the ability to seat about 20. The staff is very friendly, informative and welcoming. They even offer a free beverage while on the tour. There is a restroom on deck for those who may need one and they do allow photos and videos. Large bags are not allowed on the boat. Refer to the website for more details regarding restrictions.
If planning to use public transportation to the site, just know that you will be required to have a vehicle escort you from the gate to the tour site. They don't allow visitors to freely walk the port.

Excellent tour. The boat is very nice condition with good air conditioning even in the summer. The employees are friendly. If you are curious about what happens on the ship channel, go online and sign up for this tour.

Wow, what an experience to share with family and friends! Truly a hidden gem in the heart of this industrial city. You learn about the history of the Ship Channel while your offered refreshments and it’s ALL FREE❣️❣️❣️ My family and I loved it and will definitely be doing it again!
Frouzan “Rosa” Ali Niyaei
Great 45 min tour , well organized and well explained while on board. Boat is big enough so you can stay either inside or enjoy the scene outside. There is restroom and free coffee /beverages during the tour. Recommended👍🏻 …
Lauren Nicolas
The tour guide was very informed and entertaining, the employees were extremely polite (I was surprised). The boat was clean and polished, they had complimentary coffee and soft drinks. If you want to learn about refineries and the ship channel, you will definitely learn here, if you pay attention. You will love this tour, AND it's free! What more do you want.
John Augillard
This was my second time on the tour and it was a lot of fun. Clearly it's not an ocean cruise but the customer service was excellent and the tour guide was informative. Dinner was provided along with soda and spirits. If you've never been on this tour, I recommend it, especially if you're hosting a corporate event.
Allstar Ambassador (Houston Insider)
Excellent, informative, educational, fun and no local resident should have not taken this fun and free experience.
Katie Anderson
It is interesting. Our 5 year old was fine with standing on the deck looking at everything while our almost 8 year old kept going inside and out...so hard to say if your kids will enjoy it. I missed out on a lot trying to keep the older one from bothering others.
Michael Brown
The tour is about the port going all the way to the Gulf, but the tour only goes 45 minutes out then comes back. The staff was very friendly, they provide free coffee and then soda and water at the half way point. The inside is air conditioned to a very cold temperature and the boat and seats are clean. The tour started on time and boarding was very orderly and there was always room to sit. Parking on land is easy and the bathrooms on land are clean and stocked, but the ground is kind of dirty because it’s open to nature.
Tonia Lachapelle
What a nice tour! Great information. The boat was very nice and the staff so friendly! I've been in Houston over 30 years and this is my first time taking this tour! I won't wait so long for my next trip.
John Pan
Fun, different, and worth doing at least once. The boat is modern and holds 100 passengers, although we went mid week and there was probably only 40-50 people on board. The shipmen were extremely friendly and courteous and they serve complimentary coffee and soft drinks and water. They offer a quick history and sound bite of the history and importance of the port of Houston. Also, clean bathrooms are available on the dockside and on board.
Hector Hernandez
Have brought groups of co-workers down to the boat tour for several years and always enjoy the entire experience. Very relaxing, educational and fun! :) 😀🏗️ Always love seeing the dock workers load the vessels, the speed boats and the free warm coffee during the winter months !! 😂☕ …
Ronald McGullion
Was really very interesting n neat. Told some educational facts n showed some really cool things about the Port n history.

Fun for the whole family, friendly staff, water, coffee, soft drinks provided. Very fun, interesting, a MUST-VISIT if you go through Houston with a family on vacation. It's amazing to think more people don't know about this place. It's so cool.

This ship channel boat tour is a must see for those who appreciate the history of the city of Houston and relative importance of the ship channel.
The tour starts on the boat Sam Houston docked at the port of Houston on the chip channel. It's a 90 minute tour where there is a tour of the ship channel, an informative narrative that discusses a lot of the sites that you're seeing and a lot of the history that lead to the creation and development of the area. it also includes complimentary coffee and soda. The tour is free and all that is required is for you to make a prior reservation. I believe the boat saleregardless of the weather because it has both indoor and outside viewing areas.
Caution this is not a party boat and it probably will bore small children. Well worth the trip.
Michelle Mahone
It was so informative. The kids enjoyed it. They were engaged and available. You could be inside or on deck and still be abke to fully enjoy the tour. They do offer free refreshments. I want to point out that I took my 1 year old and I was a nervous wreck at times. Because he loved being on deck but the way the boat is set up he could have easily fell overboard. So be extra careful when traveling with little ones. A very nice tour overall. I recommend it.
Khang Tran
Great little tour of the canal! Free parking, free tour, free soda, and a great time! Pretty interesting to finally go, especially since I've lived in Houston for over 20 years. The tour guides are informative and seeing the boats up close is a super fascinating experience. I would definitely recommend this tour.

We have finally made it to the Sam Houston Boat tour and are so glad we did. This is not a party boat or a particularly scenic tour but the information about the port and Houston's place in the infrastructure of the port, it's place in Houston's and the USA economy is very educational.
First this tour is about 90 minutes and free but you need to sign up for it 4 to 6 weeks ahead of time as it books up fast. You can sign up on the web.
Many school age children are taken on this tour as part of class outings but if you didn't grow up here it is worth the trip. The boat is air conditioned so you can take it on hot or rainy days as well as a nice day.
The official port area starts a bit south of where Buffalo Bayou pours into the Navigation channel, it was very sad to see the amount of plastic garbage that makes it way down this bayou and the others that all feed into this area.
Terry Blanchard
Went on a cold and rainy day but still had fun. The boat tour is very informative and i enjoyed all of the information. The employees on the boat are all super helpful and there to answer any questions you have. They provided coffee as well as soft drinks which i thought was so nice considering the boat tour is free. Everyone there was friendly and i enjoyed it a lot.
Benjy Portnoy
definitely fun and a lot of care has gone into creating the experience. Plus, the fact that it's free is fantastic. Gets a little mundane after a while, being out in that heat for too long is brutal. But, overall well worth the
Gary C
Free tour. Takes a little over an hour. Very informative and impressive to see such big ships up close. Reservations required. Plan to arrive 30 min early.
Alexandria Gutierrez
This is something to do if you never lived in Houston, visiting Houston, or want to know Houston more than you already do. It's great for couples and families. You see parts of Port of Houston that you can't see on the freeways and my husband and I had a fun time.
Katie Riedinger
Such a great and FREE experience! The deckhands are very nice and knowledgeable. You will learn a lot.
Shahid
Awesome boat ride and cargo ships. The tour is free. Remember to get your Id proof and be there before time. They provide free refreshments as well.
Y .Sahebi
This was my second time enjoying the tour, guys were so courteous and helpful. Highly recommended to get on board with your family, enjoy the scene, the refreshments and the weather. It's a child friendly tour. Glad to be there twice and will do it again.
Kathryn Hatfield
Lots of fun seeing a different side of Houston. Love that this is free; staff were friendly and helpful; the boat was comfortable and squeaky-clean, and free drinks were provided. Our pre-booked day turned out rainy and overcast, but that ended up being good as the boat wasn't crowded and we could be very comfortable. The kids with us - 3, 6, and 9 - were very happy and enjoyed the day very much, though did need lot of interaction and explanations. Great that this is a free activity!
Minus one star because the web-page we were told to check, in case of bad weather cancellations, was broken, so we had to drive across the city on spec. Turned out to be no problem, but it would be good if this were fixed.
Juanita Bowers
Very enjoyable and educational. The people that run the boat are very nice. Drinks are available.
Ronald Harris
It is a nice boat, but the tour is way too short. At one time it used to go to the San Jacinto monument, I have been told. Even on our trip, we were supposed to go down to the Washburn tunnel, but we barely made it down to the site lyondell plant just passed the 610 Bridge. The boat rides very well. They did have coffee on the trip out, and they offered soft drinks on the trip back. The crew were very nice and helpful. The price was free, so bang for the buck it's hard to beat. Going down Clinton on the way to and from the boat is a very rough road. I would like to try it again on a warmer day, and I hope they would take us further down the channel. It would be very nice if they could schedule one trip a day at least once a week maybe three times a week, and go a whole lot further down the channel. This time I was able to get reservations on the first try, which really surprised me. Many times in the past I could not get reservations at all. Now that I am retired and able to go during the week maybe the reservations will be easier to get. Again I would like to say I wish they would take one trip a day and go further down the channel at least a couple of times a week.
Jessica Mireles
This is one of the cooler free things to do in Houston. If you plan to do this make sure you book well in advance. I booked about a month in advance. It's a 90 minute tour with some narration that can be heard indoor or outdoor on the ship. The indoor is air conditioned but has a weird smell. If it bothers you you can always hang out outside. They offer one complementary coffee water or soda while on the trip. Great for kids who are into boats and industrial equipment.
Max M Power
Great way to kill an afternoon. Free small boat tour takes you through a portion of the Houston Ship Channel, showing you a side of Houston you won't see otherwise. Doesn't matter if you live in Houston or just visiting, everyone should take this tour.
Zeeshan Shafiq
Very well manage tour of the Port. They offer coffee and cold drinks. Free to all. You have to book well in advance if you need the your to be in the weekend.
Kris Das
Nothing fancy. Simple boat ride where u can see shipping channel. Polite and nice crew. Free coffee, soda and water
Majid Ahmad
It's absolutely free for all. One has to book I advance and enjoy the ride. They will offer free beverages.
Kesavan Muthuvel
Always Free tickets. Friendly staff. Complimentary drinks. You can enjoy that 2 hours. Really good service.
Lois Rudd
Went with a group and ordered several menu selections
Everything tested GREAT !!!
We will definitely come back .
Janet “Nanniegriggs” Griggs

Super late review. Free boat tour! Staff provided a safe and friendly environment. Thank you! I can’t wait until they open again. I brought a friend from New Zealand and he was impressed!
Karlene Howell
Wonderful boat tour of Houston ship yard. Free, you need to make reservations
MC Glasgow
Be sure to book ahead of time. Very nice and knowledgeable crew.
paul blodgett
Great tour, lightening and rain and it was still a fantastic day.
G Wat
Was very cool. Good info on the channel and the history. Also some of the companies who have operations nearby. Nice little trip with very friendly staff.
Elizabeth Wolter
When they were open to the public the boat rides were fun and educational. You could ride inside or be outside with seating for both. They give you a refreshment ( free) and the kids get free color books. Good family fun. Can't wait until they start up again.
Mimi Cubías
Very kind staff, the boat comfortable, beverage free. Very recommended if you want to know it.
Ruben Castro
Great free trip by boat gives you more details and history on the Port of Houston.
Pamela Ann Melcher
Very historical about the port of Houston!
Chris Ulat
Nice place and Ride to get to know more of the Hearth of Houston, Texas.
Jerri Givens
This was awesome! Great for family and for visitors that come to Houston Texas.
Lady Nyvellya Addison
Loved it! I have gone several times! Going again this weekend!
R. Sanchez
Amazing tour. Its a 30min down the ship channel and 30min back. The crew hands out refreshments. Its amazaing. Thanks to all the crew.
Eduardo Elizondo
Hidden gem in Houston, free boat tour for locals or out of town visitors to learn more about a growing industry, tour includes a free coke/water too. Very friendly & informative staff as well
Daniel Schmidt (DanielSw0w)
Beautiful tour, the staff was nice, the boat was clean and pretty. Great place for a date or family outing
Shakoha Roby
This is the 3rd Sam's Boat Location I have visited. By far the best customer service I've ever received. The waiter Rashad has best in class customer service. After I explained that I had previously left a restaurant that did not have what I had hunger for, he made recommendations to a pasta dish just by active listening and I didn't have to repeat myself. I trusted him so much, I asked him to bring me any drink he would think I like and and based on the fact I told him I like cherries he brought over a Bahama Mama. My normal drink would be a Manhattan but I really enjoyed something new and sweet. First Bahama Mama I've ever had. Service was so good, the $40 tip I left should have been more. If you are reading this, ask for Rashad as your waiter. You will not be unhappy.
Mary Lynn
So very cool, highly recommend!
Elvia Treviño
Excellent customer service.
It is a pleasant and different tour because you can see the ships in the work area of the port.
Incredible California
Nice ride, the stuff are nice, there are lots of kids on board who’s happy and that’s great!
Texas Born
Beautiful place to go for peace of mind
Electricks Blanket
All the employees were nice. Everyone was helpful and answered questions or took pictures of you wanted. The view isn't of much and really after awhile its boring. There is a video running with history, information and insight into the port which is cool, but the view is boring. However it is free and definitely a 1 time and done thing. I am glad I went...on the fence about recommending to others. I went because I was in the neighborhood for something else, I I wouldn't make a destination trip out of this. 14 year old son found it ok...but repetitive, but nice to experience. You do get a soda, coffee and again its free!!! Younger kids 10 and under would really just enjoy the boat ride. There is a train that comes right before you get to the entrance. You may want to arrive a little bit earlier because it is long and blocks the entrance into the pier. The boat does leave ontime
Sherri Pe'a
Free! That is what you should know upfront. The entire experience is free. I am always interested in different aspects of the areas I visit and thought this would be an interesting way to spend an afternoon.
Everyone associated with the Sam Houston Boat Tour was exceptionally nice and knowledgeable. The boat was clean and comfortable, including the restrooms located on the lower deck. The inside cabin area was well air conditioned for those who needed out of the warm afternoon sun.
We boarded on time, and after a brief safety talk, were allowed to move around the boat. We chose the position ourselves at the front of the boat (Titanic style) and then moved a bit away so others could recreate the scene. This was the best place to view the surroundings, which are heavy industrial. There were a lot of different ships at port and some where unloading, loading, hanging out and we were able to watch one get tugged into the Bayou.
The boat ride comes with free coffee and water or soda on the return. Like I said - free!
Really, the only negative was that the sound system for the audio portion of the tour was not working. We heard snippets, but not all of the information. That, for me, was unfortunate. I was looking forward to learning a bit more about the history, etc. We did make up our own soundtrack, and while entertaining, was not historically accurate.
Overall, it was worth the trip and I will probably do it again the next time I am in Houston to hear the audio portion.
Ashley Salgado
I love this tour and can’t wait for them to open back up.
I have been twice on field trips for my kids but the rest of the family hasn’t gotten to experience it yet. We hope they open soon!
Katy Crabtree
The Port of Houston Boat tour is one of our favorite things to do! We go at least twice a year and it never gets old and the kids love it every time! The staff is always so nice and kind, the information given on the tour is interesting and fun to know, the free drinks they give out is a nice plus, especially on a hot summer day! Make sure you book early, they fill up fast! Best thing about it is its FREE!
Julia Harvel
Educational and enjoyable
Amy Kugali McWilliams
Such a great tour. I took my 3 year old who loves boats and he was in heaven. It was a colder day so we staying in the cabin mostly. Yhe staff could not have been nicer or more helpful.
H S
This is a hidden gem of Houston. Make sure you make your reservation because the seating is limited. Not your sexy tourist scenic tour, but a very informative. You do have to go through a guard shack and they do check your ID, they are locate in the the port of Houston as you can imagine the security procedures.
The tour itself is very informative you learn about Port of Houston. If you are standing outside, it is hard to hear through the speakers. They also offer inside air condition seating for those of you don't want to be in the sun. They offer complimentary coffee for those are 18 years and older to start out the trip. When they turn the boat around they offer complimentary soft drinks and water.
Notice I keep mention the words complimentary and free. This tour would cost you nothing, but the time and gas to get here. It is kids friendly and educational. Definitely one of the hidden gem in the Houston.
Caroline Hackney
This tour is a hidden gem among the free things to do in Houston. 90 minutes is enough time to see some of the activity that goes on and to begin to grasp the sheer scale of the Port, in terms of size and significance to the region. The boat is comfy with plenty of indoor and outdoor space, and the refreshments at the halfway point are a nice touch. Highly recommend for visitors and native Houstonians alike!
Lawrence Alexander Masson
Fun for all. The cabin is air conditioned or you may go on deck. Reservations required and an ID. Free ride. About 2 hours long. A free beverage is offered. Everyone enjoyed the trip. Kids had a blast
Sharon Fasci
Great experience. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Larry Shafer
It is a nice boat tour with very nice staff. Very informative tour that gives the history of the port. We went December 11th and Christmas music was playing at the dock while we waited to board. They give out coffee and a soda or water on the way back. All free.
Keya George
Everyone was very very nice. But what I felt heart warming was the fact that I have an Autistic nephew and we weren't really sure what his reaction would be since it was our first-time. The staff and the Captain were very concerned and was willing to delay the tour until he felt comfortable. We decided that it was just tooooo much for him but they were still willling to accommodate..
Ronnie Dorflinger
I can't believe this incredible tour is provided to the public at no cost. They even serve fresh hot coffee, canned sodas, and bottled water. This tour lasts just the right amount of time at just about 1 hour, with plenty of sites to see and photograph! The tour audio really
Christy Besser
Book your spot at least 2 months out for this fun, informative tour (if you stand by a loudspeaker). Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early; there is a busy train track you must cross to reach the tour areas, and those freight trains don't hurry for anyone. The tour occurs on a boat that holds about 100 people and takes about 1 hour and change. To be clear, the tour doesn't go into the actual business side of the Port (this makes sense if you think about the risks). Padded interior seats, on board bathrooms, and complimentary coffee/bottled water/Coke /Diet Coke/Sprite are available midway through the tour. Food is not allowed on the boat.
Erwin Gaskamp
Was somewhat impressed by both the facilites at the launch and the boat. However the scenery (sic) was disappointing. The facilities along the channel are in no way indicative of the industry somewhat removed from view. Furthermore, the oral narrative during the cruise seemed to focus on the politics related to the development of the channel, probably leaving a visitor less than impressed with the amount and diversity of the industry supporting the channel.
With that said, I feel this tour is a terrific idea that needs some tweeking.
Guadalupe Duarte
Awesome opportunity to explore the Port of Houston and learn of the history and economy of this part of the country. Thank you port of Houston!
Tashmit
What more can the port authority offer. It's really very pleasant experience and lot of information about history of how this port became very significant as of today. It's really a hidden place in Houston that you must visit.
Also they offer complimentary beverages and it's all for free.
Staff is friendly and it's a good place to get your kids along.
Chuck McMullen
Port of Houston provides this tour at no cost. Very informative! And fun!
Courtney Crave
A real treat. Great experience for locals and tourists a like. It's like a cool secluded cover. Lots of nature. Lots of parking. Yep, it's free guys, so bring cash to tip their amazing attendants.
Beth Jones
Excellent free boat tour of Port Houston (advance booking essential)
C and W K.
A great fun thing to do with the family. It is free so... It’s sad to see so many people disrespect the tour and others by not showing up for their tour.
Today’s tour 8/28/2019; it was booked for 130 persons and maybe 20 persons showed up.
If you’re going to book, show up or cancel! It’s rude! Don’t be a tool!
Joe Palmer
What's not to love about a free boat ride? You have to book ahead at least 2 days, security regulation. You get a free drink at the hallway turnaround point. I wouldn't say the staff is rude, but they are strict... Safety is important.
Leah Oberlin
The trip is really cool and goes through an actual working port. It's about 1 1/2 hours (45 minutes each way). Everyone on the boat is really nice and they are very approachable if you have any questions. Regarding the trash in the water, Buffalo Bayou runs right through the center of Houston. Floatable items (bottles, plastic, etc) thrown in to the water upstream (or thrown on the ground near the water) winds up at the port and eventually in Galveston Bay.
Bill Campbell
Tour is excellent for adults.
Children are bored and their noise makes it unpleasant.
S C
This free boat tour was so nice. I can hear the history of Houston and see very huge ship in close distance. Free coffee and soda was also good, and all the staffs were very nice!
Fam Rovayos
My elderly parents loved the ride, even in a cold and blustery January afternoon. I also loved it. It was very informative, and people were nice. They even offered free sodas. Thank you very much!
Sarah Hamilton
Lots of fun and informative. Ideal for kiddos 3+ there isn't TOO much to see and lots of rules. Reserve your space far in advance and remember to leave backpacks behind. YOU CANNOT WALK FROM PORT GATE TO BOAT so if you are coming via public transit make sure you organize a taxi or uber to get you to the boat
Richard Inglis
It was a nice tour of Buffalo Bayou and the Ship Channel all the way up to the 610 Bridge the chaperones on the boat we're very courteous and the PA system was very informative and explaining points of interest along Buffalo Bayou and the Ship Channel. A must-see enjoy
Jeff Lake
Nice educational tour of part of the Houston ship channel by boat. It gives you a unique perspective. The boat is climate controlled and comfortable. Beverages are provided. It takes about 90 minutes.
Stephen Sanchez
I was an Energy Institute student that was on this trip.
Matt Wine
This is a free service provided by the Port of Houston. It books up way in advance, so you have to plan out. But I took 10 friends and family , most of us from Houston and have never seen this part of the city before. They provide some information along the way about the refineries and docks as you pass. The boat has a large cabin with seating, and then standing room outside on the deck. Nothing glamorous to see, but a fun (and free) event in Houston.
Patricia Cain
The maritime service workers are friendly and organized. The presentation was thorough and it is free. However, the boat is uncomfortably hot. It's not particularly exciting but it's ok.
korey lewis
It was very educational and peaceful
Robert Devor
Free, FRee, FREE. Great air-conditioned & open deck boat tour of the Houston ship channel. Entertaining leisure views of the docks, port operations & history. 2 hours with free water, coffee, soft drinks. Call for tour times. 😎 …
Larry Foley
It was a lot of fun seeing the ship channel in action. The ships crew was very helpful and informative. I agree with another reviewer. Leave the kids at home if you want to enjoy the tour.
Stephen Durán
The tour was great and they even gave complememntry beverages
Paul Goodman
Very informative and enjoyable, plus you can't beat the price... free!
Andrew Quinlan
Have done the tour several times. Generally it has been a great experience but my most recent trip was cancelled just before sail due to steering problems. What a disappointment.
Amanda Gray
I doubted that this free tour would be anything more than a disappointment. Boy was I wrong! Even my teenagers, 15 and 17 year old girls, had a great time! I recommend this to everyone regardless of age!
Timothy Vale
Great tour with expert commentary and it's completely free! The tour goes down the ship channel for 45 minutes, turns alround near the Federal Road channel, and heads back. Highly recommended.
Jean Edwards
I enjoyed the tour. There is space inside and outside to be able to observe the ship chanel tour. You also learn a bit of Houston's and the M/V Sam Houston Boat Tour's history. 2018 is the boat tour's 60th Anniversary.
Joe Lopez
Fun for the whole family
Charles Hanna
It's a good tour of the upper ship channel. They require you to book well in advance but it's a great little trip that leaves plenty of time for other stuff afterwards.
Eugene Borodin
I couldn't believe this your was free. We got to see docks, huge ships and some cool industrial scenery. Staff was really pleasant, complimentary coffee and soda were served.

It's a really interesting thing to see. A hidden part of Houston. It's free and they give you free coffee and sodas too. The staff is very friendly. It smells industrial though. As it should.

Kendrick Jackson
Get out and learn a little bit. It's Free!!!

A very good tour and free! Houston's port revealed with tons of information given over the span of 45 minutes.
Jessica Rodríguez
It was beautiful! The history behind the port is even more amazing. Everyone can and will enjoy (from children to seniors).
Georgina Salazar
Great tour! It does a great job of describing Port Houston's establishment and the economic significance of the industrial developments that it serves.
Glenn Lovitz
Great way to experience the Houston ship channel and port of Houston... and it's free (requires reservation in advance).
Nicole Dodd
This is a really cool experience and best of all it's FREE!!!
Ilario Noyola
Nice tour to take the kids and learn about the Houston Ship Channel. And some historical land markers. And they also offer you complementary drinks.
Melodie Mayfield
It was a good day for a tour and you see a lot of ships. The staff was nice and you even get complimentary drinks, which is good because I felt a bit dehydrated in the heat.
Tom Milliner
Wonderful, twice daily, free harbour tours. Not to be missed...good outing for families and visitors. Book online, in advance.
David Boland
Very educational. Great opportunity to see how the Port of Houston works and its impact on the country's economy.
Letrice Michelle
I loved the tour, a great way to spend family time!!! And it's free!!!
Rayna Sharp
Very fun and comfortable. Family friendly. Seating inside and outside. Definitely exceeds expectations , so so so worth it!
Pauljb 1111
OK, as it is, but this with this trip you only see about a quarter of the Ship Channel. It would be nice if there were some extended tours as far as the Lynchburg Ferry.
Pat Price
Wow! Total fun for adults and children of all ages. Complimentary refreshments were an added plus.
Wasif Jalal Shah
Very good experience with there services. I would like to go again
Wesley Comeaux
Awesome tour! Definitely worth the price of admission!
Linda Williams
Very nice and relaxing. Something to do that's free for the whole family. Great history details about Houston.

Highly recommended! Pick a good day. The weather is magnified out on the water. They even have coffee and beverages on-board.
Vanessa
Amazing tour by the city of Houston, can’t wait until dates open back up
Kerry Welch
Absolutely wonderful! Outstanding operation, with professional employees. Spotless boat that will leave you in awe. Don't miss this one!!
Aaron Plut
Great tour. I love that they left on time. They left a family at the dock who was late. I was so proud to see that.
Cristian Munoz
Really fun! It's usually really windy so refrain from wearing a dress 😬 …
David M
Excellent morning or afternoon adventure 😀 follow the expectations that are given. …
Heather Haworth
Very informative. Told the history of the ship channel. Pointed out interesting sites along the way. There were two historical markers at the dock which told about the history of the area. They even had special things the kids could look at and match up to items they saw while we were on the water. Flags, ships, animals, etc. Free soda or water on the return trip back to the dock.
Magic C Palmer
This is a place that like to come real often almost like everyday. Why join me sometime for a treat! 😁😁🤡 …
Virginia Keaton
Great learning experience. I learned stuff that I have always wondered about. More historical markers. I fun, beautiful environment. Learned about different cargo ships.
Andrew Jones
Great and educational day trip

Don't expect a luxury tour, but its an awesome tour you learn about the Houston Piers history, you get free drinks and the staff is always happy and professional, always seem so happy to interact with us customers, the boat is very clean and captain is very friendly and an awesome person. And the best thing is that its all free for everyone.

Worth your time! Great view and pretty enjoyable.
Bill Frame
The only opportunity to visit the ship channel. The boat is clean and tidy. Little of the diesel smell common to boats this size. Comfortable seating inside with serious air conditioning. Lots of standing space on the deck. Knowledgeable narration during the trip. Starts at the end of the dredged part of the channel, runs past the 610 bridge. Length of the trip depends on the weather and the other activity in the channel. Commercial activity takes priority. One of those uniquely Houston activities, go if you can.
Teresa Berger
I had a great time. It's a must see. It is free.

More than 10 years ago we took this tour and I was surprised by the very interesting information that they gave us, the crew was very friendly but they were not allowed to take photos for security reasons and it seemed logical to me.
