Reviews of Pearl Harbor Historic Sites Visitor Center

Unfortunately I messed up my dates and missed my slot for the memorial boat ride (you need to book a few weeks in advance).
Still decided to go and take a look at the other elements of the museum. As you would expect there is quite a heavy, emotional feel to the place.
Some good exhibits that give great insight into the events with effort to explain all sides of the story. I would have loved to go back and take more time to see all sights.
Michael Androvett
This historic American treasure is a great place to remind us of the great sacrifices and devastation we had to endure to maintain our freedom. The Arizona is a separate tour in the park. It was the highlight of the day for me! It is a National burial site or cemetery. The ship is barely under water so you can still see the silos and other fine details. It is a beautiful memorial and gratifying way to pay tribute to the young veterans that paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Hans Hong
A very well organized and engaging memorial/museum, especially for history buffs and armchair generals. You could spend at least 4 hours here just doing the Arizona memorial (reservations recommended, but if you arrive early, the standby line seems reliable and fast) and just going through and reading all the free stuff. They do an excellent job retelling the events leading up to and including the attack, and events following. Many stories and heroics are recorded here for your reading of the soldiers, marines, and seamen.

They play the national anthem at 0800. It gave me chills. Great place to visit. They don't have like a guide unless you pay for the audio tour or a tour from somewhere else, but it was easy to just follow along and walk through the site. We only walked the Pearl Harbor side, they have 3 other site you can visit and it took like 2 hours. Would recommend just wish they had maps or something and it was small inside the museum.

This was the greatest experience to visit in Honolulu. I’ve been to Hiroshima, so to see the full circle of these historic events was a blessing. We bought the full passport and also booked entrance in advance for the USS Arizona.
Arrived at 7am and it was worth it. Had the Bowfin Submarine to ourselves as we were first. The Audio guides were a great tool and would recommend getting these. No need for a human guide if you have these. Maybe just take your own wired headphones as their headphones weren’t the best fit for small kids ears especially. The museum at the Pacific Fleet was really really good and a must see.
Then took a shuttle to The USS Missouri and it was a must visit. What an impressive battleship. Also took the free 30min guided tour and was well worth it! Walking though all the levels if the ship, listening to stories, seeing where the sailors slept, ate was really eye opening. This ship was impressive and the corndogs after wasn’t bad either.
Then did the Aviation Museum and again used the Audio guided devices. Really really helpful. What an impressive display of planes and history. Hanger 79 with bullet holes were where the whole story really came together for me. Just wow!! Free Shuttles between the sights were well air conditioned and friendly drivers. Very convenient!
Then did the Arizona museum again with Audio guides and spent lots of time here listening and reliving the events. The artefacts here on display was really impressive.
Lastly we visited the USS Arizona and what a sight to behold. The atmosphere was really somber and even though we are not American, we felt really proud of the sacrifice these marines made for their country and for the world.
Some notes:
- Don’t take any bags they are not allowed
- maybe take own headphones
- take water
- spend enough time at each attraction. Yes even 2 hours at each
- take lots of pics
- snacks in the grounds are expensive

The USS Arizona and other park service run sites are amazing. Visiting the memorial is a humbling experience, one that will likely evoke an emotional response. It is a sacred area.
On the other hand, visitors need to know that several of the other options connected to the PH complex are not run by the park service and require entrance fees. These include the submarine, the USS Missouri and the aviation museum. Don't get on the free shuttle bus if you don't want to pay entry fees for these.
aleks dude
My 8 year old had learned about pearl harbor in school and wanted to visit it. We tried signing up for the free boat ride USS Arizona Memorial the day or two before,.. but it filled up immediately.
There is like two parking lots. The main one get's full. There is one literally to the right of it. I'm not sure why it's not connected.. but maybe because it's for the submarine museum next door. Anyways,.. we ended parking to the right (free parking).
I didn't like the bag policy. As some have mentioned, parents with baby's.. its abit of an annoyance to have to check in your bag or backpack at the bag checkin center. Luckily my wife had a clear bag. But what's surprising is the approved purse size. My wife's purse was literally just a few inches too long and we were asked to check in her purse.
Entrance is free.
There were about 2-3 exhibit rooms. You can view them pretty quickly or you can take your time as they have some audio recording you can listen to.
There was an outdoor video, but we passed on this.
You can walk around the center and take pictures and that takes about 30 min.
We finished the visitor center in about 1.5-2hours. It was interesting, but I'm not a huge history guy.
Annie Jones
Pearl Harbor is worth the trip. Plan a full day to spend here. Arizona tickets are hard to come by, but there is a standby line, plan 2+ hours and get in line around 7am. You can buy other packages online for submarine, battleship, and air museums but you can only get Veteran discount in person for your Vet. Show respect for those who have been lost, take pride in how far we have come, and remember all who've served.
Joseph Kapla
This place is awesome. Everyone in the United States should come and experience it. It is very surreal what the sailors and marines went through during and after the attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941.
Valorie Wiley
Soul moving. So solum well preserved. Men and women working at this site were very passionate about the history here. If you do not tear up at the least, do you even understand the gravity of this memorial.
Marquise Vachon
Had a great experience here. The museum aspect was really interesting and I appreciated how the people there made sure everyone was aware of the history and gravity of what happened on that site, while not creating an unpleasant atmosphere. People were respectful and the whole site was immaculately clean and taken care of. Beautiful location.
**We booked tickets ahead for the Arizona memorial tour and was thankful as the standby line seemed quite long.**
Overall would recommend.
Ethan Wehman
Very cool and if you are in Hawaii you have to go. We got the deluxe ticket which wasn't needed and be sure to get to the boat quickly and 20 minutes before your schedule time.
Tolu (PTM)
The memorial boat ride was a significant one for my team members. It's so emotional and a worthwhile experience for sure. Everyone would love it.
Nishant N
We spent morning to evening checking out all the historical sections here! Lot of the museums at the visitor's center is free and we'll set up. Get the passport to pearl harbor pass if you're looking to do all the other sites like bowfin, missouri, aviation museum etc. The grounds are beautiful and plenty of restrooms and a shop to grab food n drinks.
Fery Suryadi
Even though most park are free, the boat tour is not. It is recommended to buy boat ticket in advanced. So many historical documents here. Must visit if you plan to go to Oahu.
John Huynh
I am grateful to experience the Pearl Harbor Memorial site. The exhibits brought together various moment in history of sadness, courage, and patriotism to this great nation.
Dave Otto
Amazing history. All of the various sites are terrific. The docents are super knowledgeable. Warning, Blowfin tour is not for people who are claustrophobic.
GetawayGirl
There is no entry fee for the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, and no ticket is required to see the museums. The USS Arizona Memorial program does require a ticket, but tickets are free. Plenty of parkings. Must watch 30 minutes documentary in the theater. They have cafe, restrooms and souvenir store inside. Also get a $21 ticket for Submarine tour.
Paul Hank
Very nice very informative most of it's free the only part that you got to pay for it as I separate Excursion for the submarine and the ship from which they signed surrender of Japan
Scott Seegrist (The Dude)
Only had time for the USS Missouri tour. Trust me on this you'll want to start with the guild! It's HUGE 3 football fields long and 108' across! It's 8 stories tall (only 5 you can see) and has everything you'd expect to find in a not so small city! Truly a wonder of architecture mastery even without the heart wrenching stories scattered throughout. And trust me that if you take the time to read the letters from the soldiers, especially the comacaze pilots to thier families, it will change your entire perspective on the war!
From the Semper Fi of the Marines to the heroic Navy this is a must see for everyone!
Andra Meyers
Moving experience. Free admission. There is standby available if you don't have a timed ticket. Our ticket was for 9am but we were able to go on the 815 boat.
Sharon Heller
Visiting Pearl Harbor was the #1 reason for our Hawaiian vacation. The park is well maintained. The rangers are extremely informative and a pleasure to converse. For my husband and I (he being a WWII history buff) 2 full days were necessary to visit the Arizona Memorial, tour the Missouri and the Bowfin. So much history to experience. There is and airplane museum that we didn't even get to tour due to our schedule. Great experience for adults!
Steven nordberg
A very somber experience but definitely one everyone should experience. Great info from all of the staff there!
Jakob Z
A place you must visit while here in Oahu. I live on the island and am always discovering something new here. Although the tour boats to the USS Arizona are not running due to a safety issue with the doc, there is still so much to see here. The USS Bowfin is a great site to tour and learn about submarine warfare/evolution since WW2. There is plenty of staff and park rangers around to ensure you and your families have a wonderful experience. Expect to be here a solid half day if you go on both the Arizona and Bowfin. That time spent is 100% worth it.
A Brakke
It's such an amazing historic place. I learned so much about it and understood some of my family history
Nathan Sachs
Pearl Harbor is such a cool experience. We went there with our boys (late teens) and everyone walked away with a greater appreciation for the events of December 7th as well as the submariners that did so much to protect our country afterward.
We found out the hard way that the Arizona exhibit is closed under high wind conditions. The park ranger told us it is most likely to be favorable weather first thing in the morning. Also, if you show up around 7am or so, a standby line forms for the 8am show and most people who have reservations don't make it there before 8.
Our favorite part of the visit was the submarine and the museums. There is an audio tour that is a must when visiting these attractions. In particular, the submarine does not have a lot of little plaques all over the place explaining things, so the audio tour was what it was all about. Furthermore, people move through the ship at the rate of that tour, so not having it would frankly make the walk through a little frustrating since I would have wanted to go through more quickly. Also, it automatically switches to the next audio segment when the wearer passes a bulkhead, allowing the visitor to pay attention to obstacles such as low clearance spaces.
We saw many young children there who seemed to be having a wonderful time as well. Definitely, teens and adults will find their visit rewarding. It is simultaneously sobering and inspiring.

Detailed introduction
It’s worthy to take a full day visit here
Won’t regret it
Daniel “Dan” Becker
A must see while visiting Oahu. The historical lessons are important to tell for generations to come.
Lily Cardenas
Not much parking, get there early. Great video in the free museum explaining brief history of Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor. Plays 2xs an hour.
Mike OKON
Every step of the way you can feel the living history of 12/7/1941 and the happenings of that Sunday morning. Remember and respect is what it is all about, from the moment you pass the gate to the moment you live... and frankly the memory stays for a long time with you. They are very strict on bags and purses when entering but there is a very convenient storage facility next to the entrance. All employees are extremely nice and helpful.
Keanu Kerr
Great museum exhibitions to learn the history of Pearl Harbor as well as some other nice attractions like a decommissioned submarine which visitors can enter and explore.
Tore Magnus Wilhelmsen
Nice place to go if you don't have anything else to do. There's a fee to check in your bag, and there is 4 different sites to see, submarine, aviation and two different boats if im not mistaken. We only went to the submarine since it was a bit pricey for the others and military museums is not on the must do list. But the submarine was a lot of fun, so recommended, combine pearl harbour with the swap meet at the stadium nearby and you have a good filled day 🙂
Nicholas Pun
Good spot to come and learn more about the history of pearl harbour.
Craig Haug
Very cool! Highly recommend, but should do all the free events first then decide to pay for extra. I feel the extra (battleship Missouri and USS bowfin submarine are fairly expensive and should be sold at a better deal )
Daniel Rutherford
Really nice set up to remember.
The Missouri ship tour was over and above our expectations and is a must do. Allow a couple of hours for this part as you have full access all over which is amazing.
Alan Leffler
Every time we come to Oahu we pay our respect to this place. As a family of military personnel, coming here is very surreal. The devastation that happened here is saddening but I love how we get to pay our respect by honoring these fallen hero’s.
Eric Peterson
Fantastic place to visit. Everyone that we met their were very informative, helpful and friendly. Everything was very well done. The introductory movie had actual footage from the attack and information I had not known before. The Arizona memorial itself was awe inspiring and yet very solemn. What an honor it was to have been able to visit.
David Fotheringham
Words can't express the feeling of standing on the spot where so many paid the ultimate price defending our country! The Navy and park service do a fantastic job of allowing the public to experience this important part of history. The gift shop has a good selection of souvenirs at reasonable prices.
James Fitton
Beautiful memorial with great views of the harbor and Ford Island. There's plenty of parking here and is also easily accessible by bus. Numbers 20 and 42 will bring you here from Waikiki at a cost of $5.50 for a day pass. It's strictly a no bag policy anywhere whilst inside the memorial and on the island so just don't bring one. If you do bring a bag then you'll have to pay $5 per bag to store it for the day. We arrived early in the morning, just as the park was opening. I would recommend doing the same as you entitle yourself to the free tickets for the USS Arizona Memorial. This is free anyway but at this time there's less crowds and you watch a short video with a bit of extra information from rangers. Once this was done we went on a short boat ride to the memorial itself spending approximately 15 minutes there and then came back to the centre. From here we got the shuttle across to the Missouri Memorial where we were able to look around and got guided tours included in the price of the ticket. It is truly a brilliant place to spend the day learning about history and paying your respects to those who lost their lives.
Dallan Moody
Very sober and calm. The provided movie is also pretty good. It was nice getting a more detailed story of what events took place here. It was very unnerving seeing the Arizona underwater, knowing that many people were still inside. I very much recommend this place
Lee Matthews
A must visit when in Hawaii. So much history and tradgety.
I hope we never forget the people that fought for freedom and the lessons of the past.
May we never have another war again.
Dani C
Great experience. Everyone should take time to remember and honor those who lost their lives while serving. It’s an amazing story of how the US came together over such a great tragedy.
Disappointed that the Arizona Memorial is closed until this fall (2019). You can still see the film and take a short ride in the harbor, but not the same as stepping foot onto the memorial.
Get there early - before 0700. Arizona tickets are free. Other areas of the museum cost various amounts, depends on what you want to see.
Christopher Creveling
This is a place that every single American should take the time to visit. You won't understand the importance of what happened until you've been there and seen it for your own eyes. I'm proud to be an American and I appreciate the dedication to our Country that fellow Americans put their lives on the line to protect our freedom. Be sure to bring sunscreen as it can be really hot. Make sure you check in right as you get there to get your ticket for the USS Arizona as they only give out a limited number of tickets each day. Enjoy!
Erik de Jong
Very well run by the parks service in cooperation with the USN. Tickets go quickly so get there early if you weren't able to get one of the handful available by online reservation the previous day. There are many artifacts, viewing areas, and exhibits about the entire a events if you aren't able to make it out to the USS Arizona.
The USS Missouri and the Pacific Aviation Museum are both well worth the trip on their own. The Aviation Museum is a bit pricy but active military and veterans receive discounts.
MRCOGITATE
Great historical landmark, i recommend anyone who is able to go and see it. It is well worth the money and trip. Free to get in $5 to store your purse or backpack only wallets and phone allowed inside. There are a few tours you can pay for or just walk thru the museum for free. Well worth it tho. always nice to learn about history.
Dave Philpott
I've heard about and seen photos, news, movies about Pearl Harbor all my life but seeing the memorial in person (at 55 years old) was an incredible experience. The ticket to Ride the boat to see the memorial is free, but it will cost you to tour the Bowfin, about $13 for an adult, and the Missouri battleship, about $30 per adult. I recommend both. We arrived at 7am and left around 230pm to see 3 of the four sights. The fourth was the Aviation museum, but we were too tired to tour it. All in all the trip to the Arizona memorial was the highlight, or lowlight when you know there are over 1000 graves just below the water. The tour guide was superb. Pointing out small but stunning details about that horrible Sunday morning.
Sandy McCrary
It is an amazing and yet chilling travel back into the history of December 7th 1941. Another must do family oriented thing to do. There is walking through the USS Missouri ship and climbing down the ladder stairs backwards. Which I loved. The USS Arizona is a lovely memorial dedicated to the men that perished that day. A must experience in person to feel the totality of that day.
Nalinda Punchihewa
Great place of history to remind ourselves that we shall never ever go to war sacrificing even one life.... The great value of those place had been hammered down from the food trucks, service at the did stores after forcing is to leave our bags outside.... It is very very dad. My biggest advice to all, NEVER rely on their food service, take your own snacks and drinks, ask for a PLASTIC BAG (s) at the Baggage Counter to carry ask your food inside...
Carolina Poblano
This is a lovely place, unfortunately the Arizona Memorial is still not open. Each exhibit must be paid separately, so take enough cash. If you do all of the exhibits you will spend a good 4 hours there. I was lucky enough to meet 2 of the survivors the day that I went, they are usually there on Sundays.
Rodney Davis
It was humbling to be there and see all the sacrifices that were made for our freedom. Many great people lost their lives. Would be better if the ship tours and memorial were included with ticket prices and not an extra fee.
Howard Cohen
Plan for a whole day. So much to see and do. Get there early as spots for The Arizona Memorial run out quick on busy days. Be sure to grab some lunch at the Aviation Museum. It was a pleasant surprise.
Lisa
Beautiful memorial. A must see. Unfortunately, we could not go into the Arizona memorial. I guess it maybe under construction and is closed. Don't take any bags or purses or you will have to take them back to your car. I was disappointed that they did not have wheelchairs available for use. If you want to see inside the submarine it is an additional charge. Very peaceful place.
Alexis Lewis
Seeing Pearl Harbor is something I will never forget. Both of my parents have served our country. Being able to bring back memorabilia and pictures for them to see. It was just amazing. It's so informative with the history of this place.
Robert Hennessy
Pearl Harbor is a must see. There is no fee to the visitor center and the boat ride to the USS ARIZONA Memorial is free but you do need a free ticket to reserve a seat on the boat. The National Park Guides do an amazing job leading the tours. They are well versed in the history of Pearl Harbor and the battle. I would recommend the introductory Pearl Harbor video, just to get your mind ready for the significant of the site you are about to tour and walk around. You can spend a lot of time just walking around this national park, but don’t miss the boat tour to the USS ARIZONA. It is an amazing tour of the harbor and the scared ground of the USS ARIZONA.
Margaret K
As a veteran, I wanted to pay respect to my fallen brothers in arms. Hint: you can take petals off the flowered leis and drop them in the water. Don't throw the entire lei, fish can choke on the string. I would like to visit again.
Todd White
A tremendous tribute to all the men and women who lost their lives here. The museums have great detail. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Allow an entire day if you plan to do the entire base. Missouri and Utah require shuttles from the visitor center. Included here are some pics of the park and the USS Bowfin which is close to the visitor center but has an additional $15 charge per person. My wife and I felt it was worth the money.
Stephen Butler
This was a somber and moving experience. There’s plenty to see, but I was a little surprised how small this area is that carried so much weight in getting the US into WWII. You can see slot for free or buy a ticket package to get in the USS Missouri, Bowfin Submarine and other areas. There is no entrance fee to the park itself. They have souvenirs and good/drinks available.
Please hit “Like” if this was helpful. Thanks.
Stevie C
It was well maintained and everyone working there were very pleasant.
But this is a place of reflection and not just a tourist attraction to run around and act silly at.
Also and please, read the signs and either don't bring your bags or store them at the facility provided; no need to show all of us exactly what kind of tourist you are by getting mouthy with the people working the area.
rajeev mishra
Its best tribute to the hero’s of world war II. Now they don’t allow you to walk over the USS Arizona memorial. One should not miss the free movie and boat ride. The last movie and boat ride is by 2:45PM. If you reach thereafter 3 you gonna miss it but u can go to the submarine on the other side, but its paid. If you are students you can ask for some discounts. They didn’t mentioned it on display but they will give you some discount on student card.
Gagan Mani
Make sure to buy tickets online, if you don’t- you still have a chance in standby line in case someone cancels. There is a separate ticket for submarine tour. Both sites are historical. Watch any movie on pearl harbour attack before visiting; it will be more fun.
Connor Robinson
Our initial entrance guide was awesome very personable and friendly. The short video before we the ride to the memorial was informative and the best part, had AC. It was a very sober experience to see the huge wall of names of our Navy boys. It was nice to be able to pay our respects
Salt Lamp
Very informative, historic, educational, and a MUST SEE! I got here at 6.55, waited in line for 10min, and then walked in and got my ticket for the Arizona. You can't physically walk on it right now(12/26/18) but they take you on a boat near it and explain it.
I got the $72.00 tour online direct from the Pearl Harbor website. It includes the following- USS ARIZONA, BATTLESHIP MISSOURI, PEARL HARBOR AVIATION, AND THE USS BOWFIN SUBMARINE. Worth every penny. I left the monument at closing, so it was a whole day worth.
No purses, bags, or backpacks allowed. Bottled water/water bottles are allowed, and I TOTALLY RECOMMEND! There are places to refill your bottle, and bottles(only) are allowed in places. They didn't check me, and I carried in 2 RX Bars to eat. Hot Dogs, Pizza, Corn Dogs start at $6.00.
Beth Hee
Don’t miss this historic memorial and museum. It left us with so much appreciation for the freedom we have and the sacrifices that were made by the many brave service members protecting our shores. Without kids, we could have stayed here all day. If you have a toddler or younger baby, the movie that precedes the boat ride to the memorial may make them scared. Ours did not make it there. My son learned a lot about WWII and had a better understanding of the events that led up to the United States entering the war. They have a beautiful gift shop with many great items for purchase. Also, no bags of any sort are allowed. They have a bag check since thieves have broken into cars, grabbing purses and bags. If you have a clear diaper bag that is allowed, however. Also, the tickets are free. 1500 tickets are given out daily. The park opens at 7 am so if you arrive around that time you will get a decent boat time. It is worth the visit.
Elizabeth Prince
Excellent tour and history. Loved the presentation and short film before the tour. The National Parks and Naval service men took care of us well. Just go on the website and pay$2 for the tour. Do not pay a tour company unnecessary money.
The Real Jd
Excellent park with no charge into some parts and charges into others. You can watch the movie and catch the boat to the USS Arizona memorial at no cost. It's very educational and well presented with clear facts about the event and the aftermath. The museum can be visited before the film and this is also free and it sets out the whole conflict in great detail.
The tour of the submarine and submarine museum has a charge but it is well worth the money. You get headsets that explain the sub in great detail as you walk through it. It has been restored to a near perfect representation of how it was in WW2. The museum is also very well laid out and covers all the way up to the nuclear subs that first went under the polar ice caps.
Definitely recommended for anyone who likes to see great machines and learn about the past. If this is useful please like!
brandon blue
What can I say? This has been on my bucket list for a long time, no matter how many times I've seen videos or pictures, they will never come close to being there in person. Such an incredible memorial to the service members that lost their lives that day. I love history, but I learned quite a bit about that day that I didn't know before.
Donya Kohl
This place is a must see if you go to Hawaii. The U.S.S. Arizona was closed for construction, but it was still beautiful. There was also a rooster wandering around the parking lot. He was good enterainment while we waited for our shuttle bus!
Brian Choi
A must visit for everyone who travels to Hawaii. We got our free tickets to USS Arizona reserved online the day before (they release the tickets at 7am Hawaii Time, and they get sold out very quickly), and the effort was worth it. Very educational, for both adults and kids. USS Missouri is also worth the ticket price and time -- she participated in multiple major wars for the United States and is a piece of history herself.
Rodrigo Feracini
Interesting if you want to know more about American history. It’s a bit confusing what you can visit and when you can visit the many sites. Some are free and some you have to pay. Your are not allowed to bring bags inside and there are only hotdogs to eat at the restaurant area. Not a great oakce to go with you have toddlers or babies.
rafaeldubena1995
There's nowhere better to feel a sense of pride and admiration for the American people and the military. Seeing this is a must for everyone that's studied about World War II. The memorial boasts of one ship still under the water with much of its honorable crew still in it. Must see if in Hawaii.
Jared Harmon
This place is amazing! All the exhibits really bring out the history of Pearl Harbor, and the events that transpired. There is so much to see and learn, and it can literally take you all day to see it all. The best part is they are still adding to it, which gives you an incentive to return at a later date.
Jo Nofsinger
Bring Kleenex!!! I cried a few times. Very emotional. I am so grateful to those that have served and are serving our beautiful country! Thank you!❤️🇺🇸❤️
Book your tickets in advance, it’s only $1 per ticket to reserve. Do your research though because there are MULTIPLE museums and my ticket was only for the USS Arizona memorial. You could spend an entire day here.
Mark Rochester
Enjoyed the humility that everybody working at the memorial and site had. There was a lot of respect for what they were doing at such an important place in history. I was disappointed seeing so many tourists from All different cultures who failed to remove their hats when walking in the memorial itself. I would have expected the guides to mention that in the US we remove our head covering as a mark of respect for the fallen.
Sebastien Hunziker
We visited the visitor centre w/o doing any tour. You have to pay for the tours which takes you on a boat to the memorial and visit the ship. The visitor centre is free of charge and you can see the memorial from the bay which we did. The visitor centre is well done and takes you through its history and events. It closes by 5pm,and has a free car park. Really nicely done.
A Gator
I visited the Missouri, air fields and memorial sites. The staff could improve a lot on the disorganization of the main hub. (The 4 stars are for the exceptionally excellent attractions, which if not implied I wish that there could be separate ratings for the management.) I arrived more than an hour before my Missouri tour (booked online). Parking is tight and have to wait to start. But unexpected was the 20+ minute wait for bag checking. Then at the entrance there are multiple lines and hard to find help on which line for your event. I found the Missouri tour counter with a long line, and some staff explained that although I booked online I have to wait in the ticket purchase line. By this point it was approaching the "30 minutes before" deadline to check in. So in desperation I cut to the front and explained the situation to the Missouri agent. She said "you're about to miss your bus" (what bus??, I thought.) and I quickly rushed with -1 minutes until the bus leaves and barely caught it. I was lucky and glad to have made the event, but would not be surprised if a lot of people missed their scheduled times due to the mismanagement.
One other small thing for a separate place - the Arizona memorial boat visit. I see that the staff makes every effort to instruct people to have the best respect possible and not act as if it's a typical attraction by requesting people to not talk loud or text while visiting. Definitely appropriate. Also I sense that there may have been some bad guests in the past. But my feedback is it's not necessary to upfront talk harshly in such a strong condescending tone to mostly first time guests. I feel most people were a little uncomfortable. I think that a better way would be to simply explain the expectations in a clear but respectful manner and the guests are more than capable of following the expectations.

this is the most amazing Memorial and I loved going through the museum's. My heart was filled with humility and gratitude for our Service men who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. I am proud to be an American!!!
Justin Farrell
Pearl Harbor is amazing. I've always wanted to visit, but never realized how humbling the experience is until arriving. It really brings history to life. You can picture yourself there the day of the attack.
Thankful for the opportunity. It was a great experience and worth the wait in line and fees to get the full pass to everything.
We did NOT use a tour company. We just went direct. I would recommend that, as then you can do it all on your schedule.
Agustín Ruiz Laza
A piece of the history of States, Japan empire and WWII. We respectfully visit the memorial and some museums. Not too much to say. Something to be visited to never forgot the continued history of human barbarie during centuries.
David Lunasco
A very sobering experience. While the dock to the Arizona Memorial was closed for repairs, we did get a narrated tour of Battleship Row following a movie in an air conditioned theater. The boat was covered which was nice and combine the cover with a moving boat, made of a cool ride around the harbor and both the right and left side of the boat was treated to a good view of the memorial despite not being able to actually get on the memorial. Very good experience and definitely something to experience if you are in the area.
Kuo Liu
A must visit for tourist. Parking is free and you can get into the visitor center for free. Please note that you CANNOT bring any backpacks or bags with you when you enter. If you do bring a bag, there is a storage locker for $5. As you enter, you can walk around or purchase tickets for certain attractions. The Arizona memorial tickets are free but limited to certain amount of people. You can get the Passort for $72 which you have access to everything or be like me knowing that you don't have all the time and pick certain place to look at for certain price. On the plus side, if you have a family member who is in the military or over 65 years old, there is a discount on tickets. Defeinetly had a good time learning and appreciating pearl harbor and those who serve for this country. There is also audio tour for each attractions you go to and they have multiple languages to listen to if you don't understand English. The Arizona memorial consist of a short movie clip and a boat ride attraction. You get to see where all the battleships were fallen. As always with tourist attractions, be sure to arrive early to get the free tickets and parking.

Not sure what I expected to see, but it wasn't entertaining for me.
Oh, there is a no bag policy so you either need to keep your belongings in the car, which i wouldn't recommend, or pay 7 dollars to keep the bag in the locker. If you are prepared, leave them in your hotel room.
Jerod Beeson
Amazing place to visit. Now is a great time for locals, as it will never be as quiet as it is now. Excellent way to experience the attack, how and why it happened, and a glimpse into the lives lost that day. Highly recommend.
Collin Burnett
While the memorial bridge is closed, this is still Ana amazing reminder of the grave sacrifice our brave men and women made in our place... asleep in their racks the morning of the attack, and suddenly launched in to war without warning. We will never be able to pay the men and women of our military back for their sacrifice.
Jackson Dailey
I visited here just before Thanksgiving and the weather was still perfect for viewing this amazing memorial. I study US History and I have always wanted to visit. The staff and volunteers are great and most are veterans themselves. I had no idea that active duty Navy sailors actually run the boat out to the USS Arizona so that was a really cool experience and those guys must really feel honored to help sustain these memories. A lot of the plaques and historical info that's out in the sun facing the harbor is faded out and look like it needs a little more love but I can understand how hard it is to keep this funded. Other than that, the short video before the boat ride was great and it doesn't cost anything to go view. I hope this stays for years to come and the docks to the USS Arizona get fixed so people can go onto it once more.
Jonathan Ribbe
This was an informative and humbling place to visit as it shaped the future of our country.
We stopped by the ticket counter the day before and the park ranger gave us priority tickets because we are military. Parking was easy to find and the wait for our tour was short.
The movie was excellent and taught me a few things I didn't know. The Arizona memorial was closed for construction but the harbor tour put the story in perspective. The memorial garden had interesting pieces of Navy and Japanese equipment.
I would advise getting the headset before the movie and boat tour because you will be dropped off right at the memorial walk which is where most of the information is located.
Some of the areas were not as kept up as you would expect a national landmark to be.
Sebastian Azagra
An historical location which has been restored and presented well to honor the lives lost here on December 7, 1941. We remember the sacrifices that the men and women who served and thank them for their service.
This memorial serves as a reminder of sufferings of war but was also the catalyst that built the Superpower that America is today.
joseph borovich
An absolutely beautiful place to visit. The solemnity that fills a person in a place like this remarkable. When you are here you can’t help but reflect on the many lives lost here.
The site is well laid out and easy to get around. They offer places to eat and drink as well as gift shops.
Marlo Skinner
Very emotional place, be sure to take your free visit to the Arizona and film, Well worth it. Get your tickets first thing when you arrive, it fills up fast and is every half hour.
Tracy Shell
We spent the day going out to the azalea and though the self guided tours. They did a very good job of putting you into the events. I would recommend this and make sure to come early as it will get crowded. I would also recommend the day pass for all the sites. Currently the Arizona memorial is closed due to dusk issues at the site but you will still get in a full days activities.
The Momshell
Overall a very moving and informative experience. We were able to find a parking space which we were told was difficult. We did have to drive around for about 10 minutes to find one so plan accordingly. It was a little more expensive for some of the exhibits but there is enough to enjoy that is free.
George Lin
Amazing yet somber place where so many died fighting for our country. If you did not reserve tickets in advance, make sure to arrive early on the day of the visit since the Memorial releases 1300 walk in tickets on first come first serve basis. We got there around 6:45am and there were a lot of people ahead of us already. Luckily, we were able to get the early tour.
Heiko Gehrig
Somber yet inspiring historical site focusing in history’s events which lead to the United States entering WWII.
Beautiful area housing many historical naval venues including a memorial to lost service men and women.
Angel Candido
So much to see and so much history. Lots of walking so dress appropriately. It is a whole day adventure. We got there when it opened, but the line was already long. They ran out of tickets to some exhibits but we were still there for about 6 hours.
A Messner
It's hard to describe the feeling you have walking around this place. It's overwhelming and emotional, but in a good way. Honor forever, never forget. I'll never forget how I felt today, and the stories we heard. This is a must if you're in Honolulu.
Now, for some helpful advice:
Get there early. They only give away so many tickets each day, and they give them away in waves. It seems crazy but trust me, you want to be there before 6 am and get in line. We were there at 6, and there were already 130 in line in front of us. We just made the first wave at 7. But the time the doors opened, there were well over a thousand people waiting to get in. It's crazy. The first in line were there by 330 am. This, of course, is holiday season, so that could vary, but I highly recommend getting there very early. And as soon as you get in, get in line for the USS Arizona tour/movie tickets. They are free, but very limited, and you don't get to pick your time. You get what they give you, and you have to go. Like it's a can't miss.
Leave ANY bag, purse, diaper bag, etc in the car. You can't bring it in. If that isn't possible they do have lockers you can rent outside. But they will not let you in.
We paid for the audio tour, you get the headphones and the device that talks as you go, and it was more than worth it. The entire thing wouldn't have been half as memorable without it, so I highly recommend you rent the set.
Also, on that note, when touring the Bowfin, do NOT forget the headset (it's a separate one than the main one, located at the Bowfin ticket booth). You'll have no idea what you're looking at in the sub half the time, and it's so rich with information. You have to pay for Tix to tour the Bowfin, but it's also totally worth it.
Give yourself way more time than anyone recommends if you really want to take everything in. We toured the USS Arizona Memorial, the Bowfin submarine, both museums, but we did it WAAAAAY too quickly, not realizing how much time it was going to take. Allow yourself 4+ hours. We missed out on a few of the attractions due to lack of time. Don't make that mistake. Quite frankly, we could have spent all day there.
This was probably one of the greatest experiences I've had in my 37 years. And it's something everyone should experience at least once. It's a stern reminder that our freedoms come at a cost that most of us don't have to pay.
To all our military, thank you for your service. 🇺🇲

We visited this place using our Go Oahu pass purchased from Costco.
Great place to learn about the history of Pearl Harbor. Great exhibitions throughout the center and seeing how people lived during war time dinifitely made us emotional.
Parking is free and there is a bag policy:
Bag storage is available at the entrance of the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center for a fee of $5.00 per bag. Visitors should bring in their wallets, cameras (no large camera bags are allowed), cellular phones, and water bottles.
Justin Doyle
A must see place that should be at the top of your list when visiting Oahu. A great place to learn and remember what happened in history. As a history buff, I was able to learn a lot more and have it have a much more significant impact on me due to the gravity of being there in person. It is also a great place for families with kids of all ages with plenty to see and explore. This place makes history come alive!
Teddy Hodges
If you want to experience what it was like Pearl Harbor in 1941 you need to visit the memorial site. They will have movies photos another memorabilia displayed. The Educated Park Rangers will help guide you through the tour. Or you can opt out and do the audio self-guided tour.
There are several Memorial sites at this one Visitor Center. You have the USS Arizona USS bowfin USS Missouri.
There are plenty of indoor activities. Their snack shops and souvenirs.
We did the USS Arizona Memorial who wants to about a 30-minute film and took a 30-minute boat ride out over the boat. We were able to see the remains of the Arizona and drive past the Missouri with plenty of photo opportunities at both sites.
The history in the sacredness of this spot and locations is well conveyed and felt.
This is a great Memorial site to bring young and old they will enjoy it.
The tenacity of these men and the area during those long days and years to follow is shown in this Memorial site.
I'm honored I had the opportunity to come and visit and share my brief experience. You will enjoy your visit.
D.A. Horton
We visited on Dec 7, 2018 - the 77th Anniversary of the Day of Infamy.
It was amazing to see the reconciliation between the American and Japanese present. War Hero’s from both sides were honored and given respect.
The USS Missouri tour was amazing!
George Hooper
Visited Pearl Harbor today, not many people were there I think do to covid-19. Normally has a 25 minute film prior to the Arizona Memorial shuttle but not doing it now to to observe social distancing.
Paul Elrick
It was a great privilege to be able to visit this memorial. We were also able to view it from the air when we done a helicopter tour of the island. Security is tight for entering so leave all bags or you will need to take them off and leave them before entering. So much information about the attack on pearl harbour and walking through the USS Bowfin submarine let you see just how cramped the living conditions were. We weren't able to board the USS Arizona Memorial due to repairs to the boarding ramp but got close enough to see it. Had a hotdog from the restaurant and it was really good. Filled a hole until the evening meal. I think we would have loved to spend more time there but being part of a couch tour we were pressed for time. I would say it is a "must" place to visit if you are in Hawaii.
Kristal DeSantis
If you are into WW2 history, prepare to spend your whole day here. The Arizona Memorial tour takes about 90 mins... you watch a movie and then a boat out to the remains of the sunken wreck and the Memorial above it. That tour is free. Reserve tickets online in advance or prepare to gamble with the crowds for same day tickets. The other 2 sites (Bowfin and Missouri) are addons for $15 & $30 respectively -bring military ID for discount.
Great day.
Alber Araujo
Awesome experiece, what a shock with such a sad and heroic piece of history. It was unbelievable, to see every single piece of history. Be prepared to spend almost the entire day, at least 6 hours. The Arizona Memorial, are simply solemn and dignified. The areas around are full of memorials and displays of this important part on the US history. Then the other three parts are equal interesting. The mighty Mo, is unbelievable, the powerful battle ship and her history are amazing. The aviation museum is a little bit smaller and newer, but still is very interesting to now all about the aviation around those years of war and present. The last but not less is the Bowfish submarine, really really could, to see how tie and in danger live those people ready to figth and defend our country. This whole site deserve all the respect and admiration, is definitly a must in hawaii!!!
Tom Stephanos
As I gazed at the USS Arizona memorial in Pearl Harbor today my heart was touched. I was reminded of the brave men and women in the Armed Forces who serve our great country so we can continue the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Greg Salo
The visitors center is great. Lots of interesting "World War in the Pacific" things to see. A memorial to all the lost submarines of WWII. The USS Bowfish can be boarded for a fee. Displays of various torpedoes. The con of the WWII Parche. Periscopes. Japanese mini sub. Snack bar with large covered eating area. Rest rooms. Gift Shop. And much more.
Srikanth Jayaraman
Amazing experience. A very sobering moment eye you are standing on the Arizona memorial knowing 500 people lost their lives below you. The tour is pretty well organised. By the time we reached the tickets were exhausted but there was a system in place to accommodate those who could not get the tickets. Overall a nice experience. Could not visit Missouri which would have made it even better. A must visit if you are in Hawaii.
Jaya Weaver
A very somber place. Everyone should visit who can. We had the privilege of meeting a Veteran and bought a signed copy of his book. Go early- be there atleast 30 min before opening to be able to see everything Pearl Harbor has to offer.
Darian Wickstead
A must do if you’re visiting Oahu. The history here is quite amazing to learn about, the memorial is something everyone should witness. Seeing the USS Arizona in person was impactful. The oil still leaks from the boat, and you are able to see the parts of the ship.
Kimberly W
Goosebumps!!! December 7th, 1941..."a day that will live in infamy"...The tributes/memorials and tours were able to memorialize a tragedy in such a beautiful and tasteful manner that one could feel Proud to be an American despite the devastation of that day. A Must See if you can make it to Honolulu!!! 🇺🇸💓🇺🇸 There are so many heroes, those that paid the ultimate sacrifice, those the valiantly fought back, those that risked their own safety to help fellow servicemen and civilians, and their families as well. This was a day that was meant to destroy a nation, instead it simply fueled the Patriotism inside of soldiers and civilians alike and made them determined to protect their homeland no matter what the cost.
Majority of areas at Pearl Harbor are handicap accessible. There are ample restrooms, drinks, food, snacks, and memorabilia available. If you have enough time you could spend an entire day exploring every inch. I would estimate if you're with an all Adult group you will easily spend 3-4 hours here or more. Place this on your Bucket list!!!
If you found this review helpful I would appreciate it if you would " like it"👍Thank you!!!
Brittney Carroll
This is a must visit place here on Oahu. It's absolutely crucial that you book your tickets in advance if you want to be sure that you can get in because there is a limit on the number of guests they let in. You can walk the museum area until 10 minutes before your scheduled time to board the boat. While on the memorial you have 15 minutes to see everything before the next boat and people arrive and your boat lines up to head back to the visitor center
Suni Lee
Would take a full day to explore all sites. Things to know before you go:
For security reasons, bags are not permitted at any of the Pearl Harbor Historic Sites. For $6 per bag, $10 oversize/luggage, visitors may store backpacks, purses, luggage, and shopping bags at the baggage storage area.
Parking and admission to the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center are free.
Admission to Arizona Memorial is free. Boat departs every 30mins. Must reserve timed ticket in advance at recreation.gov (require account sign in). If there are no tickets available, additional (but very few) tickets are released 3pm (HST) the day prior to visit. Be ONTIME if you have reservation. If you don’t have a reservation, plan to spend approx 1.5hours in the standby line (if you are not the first standby group that get to board), good thing is only 1person/party have to stay in line and the rest can explore the exhibits while waiting for your turn.
Battleship Missouri Memorial and Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum are both located on Ford Island and are only accessible to the general public via the shuttle buses which depart from the Visitor Center every 15 minutes. The last shuttle back to the Visitor Center leaves at 5:00 p.m. from Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum.
Michael Porcaro
An absolute must when visiting Oahu. While on your majestic vacation the least you can do is dedicate one day to the fallen soldiers who protected our freedom. They do a great job with a historical video commemorating the event, and a boat tour out to the Arizona.
Thank you to all those that serve!
chris coiner
When you arrive make sure you don't have any bags bigger than about 6 inches squared otherwise you will need to check it into their bag check or put it into your car. This includes diaper bags. There is not a ton of children friendly stuff so be prepared to keep them entertained yourself. Historically the museums and exhibits are awesome. Beautifully made scale models and informational posters will guide you through the events of that fateful day. You will need to pay extra to visit the submarine. If you plan on taking the boat ride you may want to get tickets very early in the morning, like 7am, because there is no guarantee there will be any left when you get there.
StefanWendy Zussino
Lots to see to help understand what happened on that fateful day. Unfortunately couldn't go on to Arizona memorial due to it being fixed but got a good view.
Had the lunch by the USS Bowfin and would suggest the Nachos as hot dogs same price but not as worth while.
Also expect to spend at least 8 hrs there to see all the areas.
Qing Liu
One free and three for fee museums.
Daniel Boyle
A fantastic day with loads to see that will easily fill 6-8 hours.
The all attraction ‘Passport to Pearl Harbor’ is the ticket we purchased. The main attractions included are the USS Bowfin Submarine, the Battleship Missouri and the Pacific Aviation Museum. Tours to the Arizona Memorial are available on the day with 1300 walk up passes issued or can be booked on line for a small booking fee. While the memorial dock was being repaired on our visit, the narrated Navy boat tour was still brilliant. A film of the history of the attack is shown before boarding the boat.
Food is available at a few different points however I’d recommend lunch at the Aviation Museum as the best option.
Parking is free however you should arrive before 9:30am as I imagine it fills quickly. We arrived at 9am and found a park immediately. If you’re driving from Waikiki allow 35 mins.
Plan your day as no bags, even a handbag, are allowed in. Bag storage for a fee is available.
I couldn’t recommend this experience enough. An absolute credit to the National Parks Service and Navy.
Paul Jones
Very interesting and quite eerie but yet positive all at once, and it's nice you can take photos as we did the Titanic exhibition in vegas and you can't.
Jeron Pilger
We spent 2.5 hours doing the Bowfin, the various walk through museums, the video, and the Arizona memorial. Wish we had just a bit more time. The food and facilities on site were excellent!
Mike H
Yes, these four sites are a tourist attraction, and very popular, but they are also pieces of history that you can see, touch and hopefully learn from. The attack that took place here in December 1941 changed the world forever.
Take the time to visit all four sites (Arizona, Bowfin, Missouri and the Pacific Aviation Museum) and maybe follow that with a trip to Punchbowl. It might take a full day but it is well worth the effort.
Some complain that it is too expensive. I don't think prices are unreasonable at all - especially since the upgrades a few years ago. And what price do you put on education?
Photos are from various visits
Lisa Chan
I visited the USS Missouri when I was here and it was an enjoyable experience. I'm not particularly crazy about military museums or artillery or ships to be honest, but it was a opening to walk around the warship. It's like a little city on its own inside - besides living quarters and the canteen, there was also a dentist, legal department, IT room, ironworks shop etc. the volunteer who explained the history behind the ship and the surrender deck was also very passionate and well-informed
Jeremy David
No words can describe how the feeling was being over the Arizona. A sacred space 100%.
Bernardo Junicic
Very well thought out and accessible memorials. Pay your respects to our fallen soldiers.
Tracy Deng
You can take bus number 20 or 42 from Waikiki early in the morning like 7am. The Arizona memorial and the movie in the theatre from visitor centre is free, you can get the museum ticket on site. Instead of joining tour, this is the way to bring the cost lower for the trip. The whole Park is worth to visit. And the movie was great to understand to history.
Carol Dreyer
Enjoyed the tour and the museum was very educational and at the same time emotional. We also toured the Bowfin submarine and the Missouri. Our tour guide on the Missouri was exceptional.
A Navy boat took us to the Arizona memorial, which you cannot board at this time due to structural problems. This was an issue because unless you were seated at the end of a row your view was obstructed. That was a big disappointment! The souvenir shopping was sufficient and my husband picked up a Pearl Harbor tee and I got a refrigerator magnet.
Emily Capella
Free tours available. Beautiful memorial. Reasonable wait times. My only gripe was that I had to pay to check my bag. I'm sure they have their reasons but $5 is a little ridiculous for them to stow my purse.
LeNell Gray
As a proud veteran of service I am awestruck by the story of Pearl Harbor to begin with. The memorial plaques that describe the ages of infants murdered there stirs my soul. And of course, the names of the thousands of service men and women killed there demands eternal remembrance.
Michael Mili
Beyond a historically epic adventure. A true time machine with the historical experts on hand and the occasional survivor present. Checked a big one off my bucket list. My wife and 3 of my five children 10, 14 and 18 were blown away and could not get enough. Every American should visit these hallowed grounds at least once in their lives. Worth every cent and second.

Do not miss this while in Hawaii! The USS Arizona Memorial is still closed to to repair, but the boat still runs you by it. Visit the beautiful harbor tributes just inside by the visitor’s plaza. There’s a snack shop and gift shop there as well. Buy the passes that give you access to all the memorials like the aviation museum, USS Missouri, and submarine, it’s cheaper. Tickets to the USS Arizona are free on the day you arrive if you get there before or around 7 am. Avoid the shopping booths of jewelry just outside the submarine; I felt that it cheapened the experience.
Steve B
Very good facilities. Well worth the audio tour, very friendly staff for the audio but not so friendly/interested for regular tickets.
Overall enjoyable, very thorough on history or area.
Tony M
Historic and deeply emotional location. Lots of information and history here to be shared.
If you go, please visit with respect, unlike the many Japanese tourists I saw laughing it up and almost literally dancing on the Graves of American soldiers.
Cheryl Kaufman
DON'T BRING ANYTHING WITH YOU. They charge $5.00 to store your purse/backpacks- which are not allowed. The free displays and videos are informative and provide a variety of perspectives on the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbour. Bathrooms are small and only a few snacks available, so plan ahead.
Kit Parker
Pretty good. Take some water. You can take Uber there although there is a little bit of free parking. It's easy to get Uber back to your hotels on Waikiki Beach from here. If it's really crowded there will not be enough parking. Take some water. In the summertime it's extremely hot and the water is rip off.
It's the final resting place for some of America's studs. Be respectful.
Anubhav Goyal
Mermersing experience. Love and valour arouses same time. Spent about 4 hours there. Well worth the effort. A short video at the historic monument tells the story of the incident with real pictures.

A must see on Oahu! My husband is Military Aviation and I have to admit we love to come here, pay our respects and visit this landmark historical place! Please don't skip it while visiting Hawaii! It's more to Hawaii than Waikiki! Keep in mind that admission to Arizona Memorial is FREE, and I do not recommend booking a tour guide. They are a rip off, and you will end up paying more than you should. Also, make time for Bowfin Submarine, a favorite of mine after the Memorial.
Fiona McMurray
A very interesting site to visit. Although entry is free each part can add up to a considerable amount so be prepared, this is why I have rated 4 stars. The Arizona memorial is being refurbished but the movie and boat ride are fantastic and worth booking in advance so you have a guaranteed time slot. I learnt a lot and I felt they portrayed the enormity and importance appropriately.
Also good to point out you cannot take a bag in, bag check is $5.
JSAK TuBe
Very emotional site. The tours are great. But bring comfortable footwear and lots of fluids as it can get very hot. I only did the U.S.S Bowfin tour which was $15 USD but you get to walk into the submarine and come out the front, so you have lots of great photo opportunities. The gift shop can get pricey and it's all made in China, so there's nothing authentic to Hawaii. But a lot of the $$$ from ticket sales and photo sales go towards the Pearl Harbor memorial estate. Overall, it's a great history lesson. It's not a Hollywood Movie Location but a lot of the aerial shots were filmed there.
dragana polimac
Sadly the USS Arizona was under construction when we went but we still enjoyed the visit. If you have time check out the inside of the submarine (U.S.S. Bowfin). We did the audio tour with a headset, which I recommend.
Danley T
This is a nice, free experience. Couple of pointers:
1. They close at 5PM. I arrived late without checking the times, and had to come back a 2nd day. Also, the shops close before 5, so get therr early if you want to see/buy items.
2. Parking was a challenge for me. I went down the road a bit and parked by the marina. Extra 2 minute walk.
3. I was unable to get on the boat to the Arizona on the 1st attempt. The last boat leaves at ***3PM***. I came back and was able to get a ticket on the 2nd attempt.
3a. When I did get to see the Arizona, the winds were too high so we couldn't dock there. Be prepared for that possibility. Our boat circlef a few times for good views on both sides.
3b. If there are high winds and the boats are still going (basically just for close viewing), get to the theater line 15-20 minutes ahead of your ticket time. When you get in, go down to the first or second row and go all the way to the right. When the movie is over, get up and go out the exit doors - you'll have your pick of the seats. I recommend the rear/stern of the boat (away from the driver) on either side, for the least obstructed views.
4. Gripes: There is some minor construction going on, and some spots in the walkway are uneven. You DO have to pay for access to the submarine. Lunch options are terrible. There is a snack bar (chips/drinks/candybars) on one side, and a hot dog stand on the other. I didnt see any vegetarian options. DON'T arrive hungry :) The museums were very informative and well-constructed, but hot with no air moving inside (they are open air, no AC, design doesn't take advantage of breeze).
Not a 5 star experience for me, but pretty close. Plan ahead and enjoy your visit!
Tito Owen
Very somber experience, but very much worth visiting this historic location. There's so much to see here. Come earlier than 10am for the free tickets to the memorial. This is a must see for any visitor of Oahu.
Abner Shoemaker
The museum, videos, shops and outside displays were excellent. I really recommend visiting, IF for any reason to remember some of the how, why, and who participated in the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
Tickets are free…. HOWEVER, they do go fast. So, unless you’re part of an excursion, I recommend reserving them online.
Currently, access to the USS Arizona is closed. We didn’t see anyone working to rebuild the ramp, so I speculate it will be a while before anyone will gain access.
The boat ride, although nice, wasn’t pleasant. They want to seat 5 across on the benches making it a bit ‘comfortable’. IF you sit towards the center of the seat, pictures are poor to say the least. IF you want pictures of the USS Arizona either visit the USS Missouri or use a telephoto lens.
Parking did appear limited. Also, be prepared to store bags at a cost of $5 per bag. Consider consolidating bags or leaving bags back in your vehicle. Also note.. All of the park’s facilities did seem ADA compliant
Lots of history to see on the grounds. Viisit even if you cannot get tickets for a 15” tour of hte harbor.
Sunset Travellers
What a fantastic place to learn about Pearl Harbor history. A must visit!
We arrived here on a Saturday afternoon at 2 pm. Got our tickets straight away for 2.45.
Definitely one of the must visit places in Oahu.
Coleen Suchy
Such a great memorial! Humbling! The Arizona was closed while we visited but still a great experience. A must do for all. Wheelchair accessible.
Richard Gaskins
If you ever find yourself in Honolulu you MUST visit Pearl Harbor. The history of it and the exhibits were AWESOME!!!!! Even though we couldn't get onto the USS Arizona the boat ride was an awesome experience. It was narrated by a man who was just a 10 year old child AND PRESENT at the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He actually saw it and relived it as he spoke to us. Simply INCREDIBLE.

A very sobering and well done place of remembrance of the men and women who died in or around the Pearl Harbor attack. Everyone associated with the running of the facilities seemed to be very nice and attentive. We had to wait 2 hours to get on the ride to go over to the Arizona Memorial.
Since we had a wait we did the Submarine called the USS Bowfin. What an amazing journey this sub took in WW2. Take the tour!! It's WELL worth it. You will see, feel, smell and hear the sounds of what the brave soldiers went through while riding underneath the water and sinking 44 ships.
There are plenty of food and drink vendors there to keep you happy and refreshed. Lots of nice shopping stores there to buy memorabilia too.
There are a number of walk-thru type tours you can go around and see and hear presentations of what happened during the attack. One tour is all about the USS Bowfin. One of the attack itself. Other displays showing an actual Japanese secret torpedo from the era. Lots of cool flags, badges, letters, artifacts and even periscopes, big guns and missiles you can view into or take pics with.
Once on the ride over to the Arizona, it was a very sobering but yet a very thankful and grateful feeling came over us.
Overall, this is a wonderful voyage back in time. It's amazing that some of those items made it through and are still here today to enjoy and learn about. Great for the whole family. A must see while on the island.
Kevin Koehler
This is a great place to go if you have any interest in on what happened on Dec 7th 1941 that put the United States into World War II. You can not take any bags in and as a photographer I needed other lenses, so I put my largest lens on my camera and a wide angle lens in my pocket and no problem. You need a few hours to walk around here to read all the signs, displays and to go to some of the museums. I also had to dodge a couple of rain storms and getting caught out in the open to run back under cover. But hey it's the tropics and that is what it does here. We only looked around the main visitor center and also did not go out to the USS Arizona Memorial unfortunately. We also did not go to the Aviation Museum, Battleship Missouri or the Bowfin Submarine tours. Even so the information and the pieces of artifacts from that day that was available there and the fact of just being there was fine by me.
Jenny de la Hoz
We only had time to do the Aviation museum and that was great. The tower tour, a little extra $, gave the whole experience great context. It is a recently opened experience and I would highly recommend it. If you have a hard time climbing stairs, make sure to let them know ahead of time. The Bob Hope exhibit was a welcomed reprieve from the heat and also well done. He was a wonderful man and they put his humor throughout. The volunteer are wonderful and their passion is catchy. If you only have a few hours before your flight and want to experience a portion of Pearl Harbor, i recommend this. Wear comfortable shoes - there's a lot of walking - and beware that you cannot bring bags of any kind into the park.
Scott Miller
A MUST experience. Word of advise, pick a day with good weather and sunny skies, it wasn’t even sprinkling but due to “possible inclement weather” the Navy prevented us from actually going onto the memorial platform and instead were only able to circle from the boats at quite a distance.
Tim Oberemok
What an amazing experience!!!
We spent 5hrs and went by so quick because everything was very interesting easy to walk (other then Bowfin Sub) cool historic facts and a true piece of history ! Arizona was closed due to Structural damage but the Mighty “Mo” Bowfin and Aircraft Museum with real WW2 bullet holes in the hangar and the shot down Jap “Zero” was very very cool!
Would recommend!!!
Stacy Lee Ferguson
Basically this is the entrance to 4 exhibits/memorials: USS ARIZONA, USS MISSOURI, USS BOWFIN, & Pacific Aviation Museum. Price is great, but....parking is tough. You gotta wait for people to leave and pounce. That plus no bags, purses, backpacks etc. (Bag storage booth for $5) is why it only get 4 ☆. Also, each 1 of the 4 exhibits have separate prices which vary. Gift shop and bathrooms at entrance. Limited food options. Veiws are outstanding and historical significance and impact is powerful. A true must see for all.
Georg Wuitschik
Definitely worth going. We arrived at 7AM on a week day and had no problem getting tickets for the Arizona memorial without waiting. The museums there are also good and offer a remarkably balanced view.
Ronald Grillo
For the ceterans that died and for the ones that still serve, do your dudillagince and visit. The short movie will explain the day that lives in infamy. Afterword you can take a ride in the harbor an marvel at the relecs that take up the bay. The excibit paints a beautiful picture of the heros of this nation. We were quick and spent 2 hours in and out. We skipped the rift raft and saw only the important things. Unfortunately the Arizona exhibit was out of commision due to dangerous in the dock. This was my second time and felt that it didnt take away much. Its free so you cant complain. Leave your bags in the car because the staff has taken advantage over the fear after the 9/11 attacks abd charge a bit to hold your belongings. Regardless , come and see it. It will enhance your patriotism. Please like my review. Thank you.

The staff is so nice. The memorial itself is outstanding. If you've never been here come and learn more about history. It's worth it.
Erik Bjers
This is such a nice memorial to those who lost their lives in a horrific attack from and enemy half a world away that drew America into a war that encompassed the world.
The only disappointment was that the Arrizona memorial was closed for repairs.
Damian Orchard
Even though we could not get on the memorial which has all the names of those burried with the USS Arizona it was chilling being out on a boat with the US Navy paying our respects. There is so much to see and experience out on Ford island. The air war museum, the USS Bowfin and the Mighty Mo. The thing to be ready for is you cannot carry a bag. Wear cargo shorts for sunscreen and Nick nacks. Be sure to get the headsets and listen to everything. It is an all day memorial.
We took lots of pictures. I even painted one of the memorial with the Mighty Mo in background.
Everyone must visit and don't be afraid to show a little emotion.
Golf Golf
Can't really say how good it was once you got a ticket for the tour. We didn't get the ticket and walked around outside since the ticket cost merely $72 for a complete tour. It's expensive for us on a budget trip. Giving 3 stars for the historic education center building without ticket.
Floyd Merriman
Excellent memorial. Recommend you see all the exhibits not just the USS Arizona.
Aaron Holloway-Nahum
A very beautiful memorial and museum. Unfortunately the Arizona memorial was under construction when we came and we couldn’t go aboard (no warning of this!) A nice video nonetheless. The submarine is well worth it and the USS Missouri was certainly fascinating.
Richard Stowell
The NPS has done a great job with this memorial. The displays are engaging, informative, and beautiful. The USS Arizona Memorial was closed for repairs, but the entire site was still worth the visit.
Jay Kim
very historic place. well organized museum and short films. poor quality gift shop. very much American oriented view on war. very shameful place for Japs..local says. (yes. there is Missouri where Japs signed to surrender). free entrance. extra fees to visit Arizona, Bowfin..etc)
M James
A beautiful place to take family to learn about history, there are boats that take you out to see the USS Arizona with many employees around, there’s also a video about pearl harbor along with multitudes of history in displays throughout the visitor center.
Rod C.
It's like travelling back in time. History classes or books of all grades can only do so much. The tours, museums, and outdoor displays are just mind blowing. Definitely need to check out the memorial. Unfortunately, you'll only get a chance to take pictures of it while on a shuttle boat. The park closed the memorial for safety reasons (cracks in hull?). The boat ride is still lots of fun.
Tracey Dotts
I have to say that overall this was disappointing. We paid for the audio tour only to discover it only worked at part of the park & we weren't able to listen to even half of it.
On the other hand, if you're in Honolulu & they've opened up the Arizona Memorial again, I'd still recommend going.
john smith
Awesome history lesson I was a little disappointed that much of the information was presented in a manner to mitigate the blatant disregard for human life that the Japanese Empire leadership had. They not only murdered thousands of Americans but used their own people as canon fodder to further their on ego driven mania.
Jessica Preuschoff
We went to Pearl Harbor on our last day. It was dribbling (raining) slightly. We took the bus. The bus system on O’ahu is super easy to figure out. I believe we may have had to change buses once. From the bus stop it is about a 3-5 min walk. There are pedestrian crossings everywhere. Once you get on the general grounds of Pearl Harbor there are already some signs for you to read with historical information. Please pay attention to their website and the information that tells you that you are absolutely not allowed to bring backpacks and purses inside. They have a drop off station for your things. It will cost you $5 and they will hold your things for the whole day. We have seen many people being turned away that tried anyways. What you can bring in for sure are your cell phone, a wallet (wristlet), and a water bottle. You may also be allowed to bring in a small camera. It is free to go inside. You have to go through security. Inside there is one free museum that also shows a movie. There are multiple museums that cost money. For some of them it is advised to get tickets ahead of time. When we were there they just had the accident that caused the Memorial to be inaccessible for visitors. They have a big gift shop, snack shop, and I want to say a hot dog cart. It was really nice to walk around the walkway as well. There are many signs with information in regards to the history. We truly enjoyed it even without going out to the USS Arizona Memorial. I enjoyed that the Memorial is remembering both sides of the war.
Jordelle Lovell
Great Experience. Loved the audio tour. Didn't get tickets ahead of time, would recommend that if possible, but still got tickets because we came earlier in the mid morning.
QUEEN
Pearl Harbour was a good experience to learn about the history of the US and Hawaii. Coming from Australia it was nice to hear and indulge in the American history different from ours. Family friendly, I really thought they were all strict with bags and checking you, metal detectors etc. but they’re not. Booked the Pearl Harbour + Honolulu City Tour with the Peal Harbour Visit site for my family and I. We couldn’t enter the USS Arizona Memorial unfortunately because the dock was under construction. Wasn’t worth my money much as the main site we all wanted to see was the Arizona Memorial. We came here in June/Summer which is a busy time so they should’ve maintained or reconstructed the dock or anything else in less busy times of the year... March maybe? Not December/Christmas/ any holiday or important time of the year. Other than that our tour guide Patrick was very friendly and nice. Snacks were cheap at the store, gift shop is tax free.
Jose Baldonado
Place is a tribute to so many who gave their lives for this country. Definitely worth a visit if you’ve never been. If you can’t get tickets online you can alway try waiting in standby line. There’s always people who made reservations and don’t show up.
Jordan Cumpston
Thank you for your service.🇺🇸God bless the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 🇺🇸 Everyone should pay their respects and tour this historic site. Learn the reason we are who we are. …
Jim Rogers
This was so educational. I'm sorry that so much of the site was closed because of Covid 19 but they opened up the museum and the Submarine tour while we were on the island and it was very eye opening to go and see this historic site. I'm sure I'll be going back when the whole site is open.
Jan Pal-Goetzen
Very humbling experience. I’m glad we got a chance to visit this memorial on our recent Hawaii trip. Make sure to get there early when you don’t have a ticket reserved. The most basic tour including a boat ride is free. You have to check bags larger than 6inches.
Sterling Gurney
What a sobering reality. Well done. The sadness of war in such a beautiful place memorialized. You almost feel like you were there as you hear story after story that you've never heard before.
David King
This memorial to the greatest fighting force in the world was superb. Very moving presentation and very reverently done. I gave it a 4 due to online informing to arrive @ 6 am for the 7 am all day tour. Arriving at 6:30 is PLENTY early. Our utmost respect to all who served. Because of them, I have the freedom to post this.
Update-
I posted this pre-visit and need to add information after going thru the memorial site that is critical for a smooth visit.
1. Forget website. To confusing and not accurate. You may consider buying an all day audio self-guide tour? See number 5 below.
2. Be at entrance at 6:30a to be one of the 1st 15 to enter. No entry until 7a.
3. Line up in grade school fashion, single line behind the worn, hard to see blue line on the right side of the visitor center entry way, 25 ft from entry gate. At 10 min. until 7, 1st NPS guard comes out to scolded us for not being in the right place. Persevere, memorial is worth it!
4. At 4 minutes to 7, another NPS guard comes out to say "I'm answering no questions, can't bring anything in bigger than that, (pointed to a small black 4 x 6 in. zipp top bag affixed to a sign, no one could see), go thru gate and turn left and go all the way down, they’ll take care of you down there." Again, Persevere!
5. If you have a guided tour reservation, you will get an audio guide devise and ear plugs at the desk straight ahead after you enter thru the gate. But 1st, go all the way down to the left and get into the stand by line, if you don't have a boat ticket to the Arizona Memorial or buy one before you go all the way down to the left. If you do, get into the reservation check-in line. This reservation line is for the boat people only, going to the Arizona Memorial, not the tour guide people with reservations.
6. Use the audio guide with associated map which has numbered tour stops on it at the Arizona Mem.
7. You may need to wait 30 min for 1st boat departure. Boats will accommodate 145 passengers. If you are in the stand by line, under roof, you will probably go to memorial in that time slot. If not, wait another 30 min.
8. The all day tour is a audio self-guided tour, not a real live person.
9. Our water bottle was in a black carrying koosie and not searched. It was bigger than the 4 x 6 in. Zip bag on the sign.
10. Don't take purses. Storage lockers are $6!
11. Once you leave gate, no returns.
Sum-up
Covid has taken its toll on the tourism industry and has attracted service personnel like 2nd gate Guard, Garcia who are not suited for dealing with tourists. Garcia was very rude and condescending and didn't need to be. As a government employee, does he work for those of us in the line or are we forced to put up with his bad behavior? NOT THIS TAXPAYER!
I changed my rating to 5 bc this memorial must not be missed, no matter what we must endure to witness their sacrifice. This guard could have spit in my face and it would have been nothing compared to what those who gave all or any one who has served has sacrificed. What they gladly endured and sacrificed, and the ultimate sacrifice, their lives, is why we exist!
B Appleby
A lot of other monuments and tours could learn a lesson or two from Pearl Harbour. I only had 90 minutes, and for $7, I got a full audio tour and appreciation of the event and its context in WW2.
Hiway Highway
Very well ran by park and military staff. Get the audio tour to best experience all the site has to offer. Very moving
Magdiel Romero
There isn’t really anything bad I can say and will say. I mean just to be be able to be inside this location to see and pay respects is an honor. The typical tourist attraction with stores and a patio to buy and eat food although it wasn’t too crowded. Great place, anyone that appreciates history,WW2 & the U.S. should go if they get the chance. Highly recommend!
Carol van der Velde
Well done museums explaining the situation that lead to the attack from both the American and Japanese point of view. Very good information regarding the impact on the Hawaiian civilian population as well.
James Cage
Impressive of what the museum and surrounding this harbour present to us. If felt like you are one of the soldiers back to 1941. Highly recommended if you love the history.
Natalia Marczak
I really liked the sensitivity and lack of one-sided opinions about the Pearl harbor events. The facts were presented in a straightforward way without unnecessary glorification or condemnation. I learned a lot and I recommend checking it to everybody, not only people interested in world war history. The site is also very well maintained, clean, and modern. Definitely an eye opener. It was great.
Vanessa Vu
Everything was sold out but we were able to get tickets to see the battle ship. We didn’t have a tourist but there is so much information around we were able to read and even tune in on some of the tour guides
Christina Moody
So wonderful. I highly recommend getting tickets to the monument early (we missed out). Also a MUST is the audio tour, it adds a whole new meaning to it.
john slade
Historical information and very organized. Get there early, lines get very long quick. I do wish they'd put the bridge along the length of the ship instead of crossways. Nonetheless...IF your in Honolulu, go.
F. R. (Effective Problem Solving)
Great to visit, beautiful to see. Long lines, lots of restrictions, once in a life time trip for sure. If you don’t get there early enough, some tickets and some activities will not be available.
Lisa Rivera
This was an eye opening learning opportunity starting with the historic short documentary to the boat ride to view the memorial. There is a great gift shop on the site. Awesome experience. It made me appreciate our veterans and freedom even more!
Rick Bassett
So great to visit Pearl Harbor. Don't miss this stop when you visit Oahu. Get there early to get tickets to visit the USS Arizona Memorial. Tickets are free.
Mark Ware
Very nicely done and you can see a lot for free. The USS Arizona memorial is closed for repairs but the boat ride over to the memorial is still in operation and free.
Bob Miller
Like everyone else, always wanted to visit and finally did. Very educational as well as saddening. A must visit for sure. Most of the pictures I'm posting are the interior of the USS Bowfin.
Joshua Harris
Go early if you want to find parking and you can't take bags in! It's a great place to learn history though and plenty of your guides and employees to help. The Missouri tour is a must! And the aviation museum is also special.
Christina Rodriguez
Historic and Contemplative. It may disappoint some to not be able to board the Memorial, it is still a must see IMHO when visiting Honolulu. The boat ride is still very informative as well as educational. There are many monuments and museum exhibits on the grounds. The only downfall is that the entire list of the deceased Arizona service members are on the floating Memorial. I would've liked to have seen a temporary list on the grounds.
Maritza osorio
76 days ago today 12/07/17, a conflict between nations resulted in an attack that ended many lives that today we remember, honor, appreciate and will never forget. My second time visiting the Pearl Harbor Arizona Memorial added much more meaning as my unplanned visit happen to be on the 76 aniversary of the attack and there were special memorial activities taking place on site
Ryan Dariol
The Pearl Habor Historic entrance has some great interactive open galleries that are well worth checking out as well as the information trail on the edge park that has some interesting facts and knowledge surrounding the moments before during and after the attack on the harbour.
The cirlce of contemplation was a very relaxing place to sit and enjoy the silence in such a busy place.
Although not the main attraction the galleries and walk are definitely worth the extra time.
Vicky P
Such an amazing and humbling place to experience. Even after all these years you can still see the oil seeping up to the ocean's surface. Beautiful structure built with the utmost respect for those who lost their lives.
Sean Smith
The history here is amazing. I would recommend the headset--even if you think it's cliche. The Arizona memorial was under construction when we went but the boat tour was still incredible.
Gary Ruckstuhl
Real reviews. We went stright into the movie, and you exit right to the boat that takes you to the Arazona memorial. It is exactly as you would imagine. Somber, amazing, informative. We took a tour which didn't give us quite enough time. The museum on the land side is well worth a visit and you'll need some time here. Can easily spend and hour or two. More if you want to see the sub, and /or the battleship Missouri. Stories from witnesses, survivors, videos, exhibits and memorabilia. Very moving. You CAN bring in ONLY CLEAR BAGS AND CLEAR BOTTLES WITH WATER. Plenty of bathrooms on the mainland by museum & gift shop. Snacks available also.
Debbie Ferrell
Lovely tour and very emotional video. It's free in the morning to get in but yours and excursions will charge you lots of money to go. Unfortunately the Arizona memorial is closed due to it needing repairs but a boat will take you close enough for pictures. I gave it 4 stars because I had been looking forward to going on to the memorial.
Max Hotkowski
Excellent museum with tons of detailed information. Being on-site allows you to see the remains of the USS Arizona and get a sobering view and understanding of where torpedos landed and more. Though the smaller exhibit building layout is a bit unnatural and some interactive pieces could have used more thought, this is a highly recommended education trip.
Come, learn a lot of important US military history, the marking of our direct start with WW2, and enjoy the nice weather and views while you're here.
Roberta Jansen
What an amazing experience for all ages. I cannot stress enough how worth while it is to take yourself or the whole family to tour the site. To do it justice come early and expect to spend most of the day touring the area.
Luis Gonzalez
It's alright, official stuff and footage from the event could of used a bit more raw material some employees wanted you to hurry up and purchase on some sides, but it's a great piece of history.
Altaf Hussain
Great site. There is a pride in the staff who work here and it shows. The USS Missouri, USS Bowfin and other museums and sites are well taken cared off. And there is a vast amount of history and learning here for all
Denni's Fontenot
A must visit to truly appreciate the sacrifices made. I was saddened and disheartened by what I learned during my tour over the number of lives lost. History books just don't give it the justice deserved for such a sacrifice.
Rick Jonsson
Pearl harbour and the USS Arizona Memorial, I would encourage everyone to go and see the memorial to understand the importance of what happened and how it changed the war as well as paying respect to the 2403 US service men that died defending their country that day 75 years ago, and remember that 1177 of those souls where on board USS Arizona and still are.
Brandon Taylor
This is where you would begin your tour, see the Arizona movie and tour the submarine that is currently being restored. You must visit this site at least once in your life. Spend a little more $$ and get the headsets that include audio recording made by actual veterans who survived the battle. Also, go hug a veteran and tell them you truly appreciate what they have done for you.
j & w toma
Pearl Harbor was fabulous! The Passport to Pearl pass allowed is to take in all of the museum’s and the Arizona Memorial. Great value!
Aaron Jensen
Pearl Harbor is such a powerful place to visit in Oahu. I have always appreciated our armed forces but I will NEVER forget the feeling I had standing over the USS Arizona with such little knowledge of the sacrifice that went on there so many years ago. I highly recommend this to everyone.
Archie Noel Chua
Very nice to see what really happened when the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor, whole day experience, staff are accommodating and friendly, must leave your bags outside of the park, have to pay $5. Food and water is available inside.
Thien Vuong (fooderarri)
USS Arizona memorial is great and free also. Still under repair at this time so can't go on it. As others have said, no bags and it costs $5 to hold your bag at the baggage room. Didn't do the other tours due to time constraint.
Dang Hoang Anh
The Pearl Habour is a breathtaking memorial place to visit in Hawaii. You can see the spectacular battleship and alot of memorial touching stuffs in the Pearl Habour battle. If you want to visit all locations in Pearl Habour, it would take you a whole day. I really like the air here.
Jennifer Kling
It was a gray honor to be here. The museum and amazing and you learn the details of that day, that yoy don't learn in school.
Get they're early. People wait in line a hour before it opens up just to get tickets
Yvonne Duffy
Very surreal to visit here. Unfortunately the dedicated visitor centre that sits on top of the USS Arizona wreckage was closed for maintenance so we were disappointed not to be seeing this. However there are lots of other things to see and read. Very educational. There are 2 or 3 other subs/boats you can pay to go on and look at aswell. These were between 15$ and 30$ per person depending on which one you wanted. Quite expensive really. There is a virtual reality tour aswell for about 5$ a person which looked interesting also. We didn't pay to go on anything but there was loads to see for free!
Mike Hawkins
This place was such a treat! Great people working and such an amazing experience to go and see places that mean so much to our American heritage and history. Just bummed that the u.s.s. Arizona memorial wasn't able to be boarded due to construction. Maybe next time!
Bo Wind
We had a great visit and the staff was super kind and helpful! The boat tour was free and it included a 20min movie (upfront) which answered most of our questions already. On the boat - our way to the monument and battleship on the boat - we had a tourguide (Jim) who has experienced the attack himself when he was only 11yo and talked about it. That made it even more special!
Brennan McGilvray
A very tastefully done memorial. The information gallery's were well thought out and purposeful. There is a good mixture of text, models, and video clips dispersed throughout the museum. It is not a good idea to wait until the last minute to try and get a ticket to see the Arizona
Leaugeay Barnes
We haven't been here since 2003. With the crowds highly reduced, we gave it a shot. So much more to hear and see.
Subhrajit Roy
A must visit if you are in Hawaii. The USS memorial tour is free but excellent. I loved the submarine tour as well.
Rich Ferguson
I've been visiting this Monument for decades. The Eerie feeling when on top of this watery tomb simply goes without saying. No matter how many times I hear it described, I have no way accurately beginning to imagine the horror of being trapped in a sinking ship. I hope the patriotism of these brave souls lives on forever because they died in order for us to remain free to visit and memorialize.
If you have a few hours, take the time to see the entire historical site.
Note, the Oklahoma was under repair and we were able to go to the memorial but not land at the dock. Hopefully, they'll have it repaired by now. RichFerguson143 with Siobhan O'Connor
Jennifer Willey
Spent a little time at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center. Top, make sure not to bring any large bags, camera bags, purses or back packs. They will not be allowed into the Visitor Center. Tickets vary in price for different options.
Dan Broetzmann
Not much to see for free. Paid to see the USS Bowfin submarine (and museum next to it). Was pretty cool to see.
Rebecca Phelps
I was little last time we got to visit Pearl Harbor. I was happy to get to visit and pay my respects to those who have died defending our country. It's very sad what happened that day on December 7, 1941. The memorials to those who lost their lives that day are beautiful. We rode a boat to visit the sunken ship USS Arizona since the memorial where you could walk was closed due to structural issues. Glad we got to visit again after many years. Thank you to those who served our country that day, you will not be forgotten.
Lori Whitney
Disappointing we were not able to get on the memorial, however I understand safety is a must. Still a tour worth going. The eerieness is brings a sad reminder of yesteryear.
Gilcrist Home
Humbling experience. Highly recommended. What you should do.... get the audio tour. Not the one with the smart phone as the extras there are not worth it. The VR is interesting but not really a VR experience but interesting. If you go on the Arizona tour then the VR is redundant. The museums are fascinating and really brings what happens on 12/7/41 into perspective.
Andrew Larson
Slightly disappointed. A lot of up-keep needed. Also, was not able to get onto the USS Arizona monument due to the boat landing being broken. Overall a good experience. The exhibits were well done.
Paul Merrick
Spent a good couple of hours here. Unfortunately Arizona Memorial is closed for the start of 2019 for repairs. The 20min film was well made and balanced and worth a watch. Also paid extra ($15 I think) to go on the submarine which was fascinating
Jacqueline Selfridge
Definitely worth the trip while in Oahu. Come early in the morning as it gets crowded quickly. We went on a Wednesday and it was packed by 10:30am. Unfortunately the USS Arizona was closed so we couldn't take the boat to it but it was still worth seeing everything else.
Pavel Gnatyuk
Good memorial place. Here is a lot of tours, but they took 3-4 hours and cost some $. Free parking, free admission to visitor center. We just walk around those place, was so nice.
Muriah Johns
A must see while you are on Oahu. Tips: you can't take in large bags or diaper bags. You must check them for a $5 fee. They will give you a small grocery sack to carry diaper bag things in. Strollers are allowed. Arrive early. Go around 7am to get early tickets to go to the USS Arizona. The tickets are free but the sooner you get in line, the sooner you will get to go out. Buy tickets for the submarine and do the audio tour. If you have to wait around for your time to go out, do these two things. You technically can get in free but these two things are worth paying for. The snack shop to the right has hotdogs, the snack shop to the left has bottle sodas and sandwiches. There is no food allowed on the USS Arizona tour.
Shlo Mo
Great place to learn about Pearl harbor and take a stroll around the base. The only attraction that you pay for is the sub and museum. Pearl harbor is FREE!!!! I would highly recommend walking through the sub it's $15 with the museum entrance and a 50% discount if military.
Mike Kenyon
A haunting and engaging trip. The audio tour is well worth it. Somewhat hard to follow their path, however.
Ekaterina Spiridonova
Great place for all ages. You don't have to pay for tickets and still enjoy a little bot of Pearl Harbor memorial such as historical movie, take a boat ride to Arizona memorial and just walk around to enjoy a great view.
Hiep Huynh
Great experience at the Pearl harbor, learned a lot. Gift shop is very nice. Parking is free but you might need to pay if bringing in a backpack
Parth Bhadra
Its a Great place to know the Facts behind the World War 2 and it was informative and interactive with the 23minute movie shown before the visit to memorial and also museum. Person needs to spend atleast 3hours exploring Pearl Harbour, USS ARIZONA MEMORIAL AND USS BOWFIN.
I even suggest people to visit Ford island to see other Memorials too, esp. USS MISSOURI.
J I
A must visit if you spend any time in Oahu. I found it to be a very emotional experience that was thoroughly enjoyable. It was amazing to relive a little piece of history.
There's a lot of parking out the front so that shouldn't be an issue, I'd recommend setting aside 2-4 hours depending on how in depth you'd like to get.
Brian Smith
Such a tragic story that unified America in 1941. It's tough to explain the emotions but its filled with heartache and appreciation. Brothers and sisters in arms, even tho I didn't know these warriors it saddened me to visit the site but it's about honoring their sacrifice.
Steven Niette
For the historical and cultural significance, the site is a must see. However, overall I felt let-down. The Arizona memorial has been off-limits for over a year due to repairs. The VR replacement costs $5 and is sub-par tech. The one redeeming element of the VR is that the you get to experience the memorial and see the Arizona in the water, which conveys at least part of the solemnity of the actual memorial.
In general, the site lacks landscaping and has litter, making me feel throughout my time there that our veterans deserve better. However, we didn't have time to view the theater or museums, which require purchased tickets. Perhaps those are of good quality.
Mahesh Wani
It’s a beautiful place that will trigger you to read more and more about history and what happened here in 1941. As soon as you enter the place (if you are going with a Tour bus) you will have a movie that will be shown to you of about 23 minutes. Post that you will be taken on a boat ride by navy officer to the actual site of where Arizona sunk. Unfortunately until March 2019; they won’t allow anyone to get on the memorial site because of some repair works going on there.
Rudy Weber
Great memorial honoring the stack on Pearl Harbor. There tour starts with a very well done film documenting the day which then heads to the boat ride to the memorial. Very well done.
Erick White
Amazing place. Can not keep a dry eye here specially when you watch the movie then go onto the memorial...wonderful people here to help and explain anything you have questions about
Jared Barbosa
Wow. It was a truly moving experience to visit Pearl Harbor. The movie and boat ride through Battleship Row are alone worth the trip. I was a little bummed that the USS Arizona memorial was closed, but I understand. Still, I'm very glad I went.
Nicole Jones-Williams
Loves history. My family and I visited all sites here and thought touring the ship with audio sets was pretty kool and interesting. Nothing tops the Arizona Memorial; got me real choked up and it should. Go early around 7 to get in line for the free tickets they pass out for the Arizona site (limited supply). They'll also allow you to choose the time you would like to tour. If visiting Oahu, this should be on list of things to do.
Kausalya Singuru
We stayed in down town, so took one of the tourist packages. The driver was kind. Except for the Pearl Harbor visit, the rest of them offered in this package are not worth the money. Although visit to Pearl Harbor made me give four stars to the tourist package too. A very emotional short film is played before you start your trip. My 7 yr old loved the movie and rest of the visit. Some areas were under construction when we went. So, couldn’t get the best feeling that many others got. Never the less, it was one of the best experiences during our trip to the islands.
Donald Boyd
Great park but not cheap. There is no general admission. You have to pay for each attraction. No large bags or backpacks allowed in.$5 checkin.
Alan Hu
Went to the USS Arizona memorial, Battleship Missouri Memorial and Submarine Museum. It was a very interesting visit and a place to commemorate the loss of fallen soldier during WW II. The Arizona memorial takes about 1.5 hrs, submarine with audio guide will take about 1.5hours, battleship Missouri takes about 3 hours to visit. We didn't go to the aviation museum.
Tara Shaub
A MUST for your Hawaii trip!! Must do the Arizona memorial for sure.
Cheryl Bauer
Very informative and loved how it told both the US & Japanese positions & what lead to war.
Jeff Brown
Dec 7, 1941 was the day the United States entered World War II, and the day over 3,000 lives were lost in the Japanese attack on Oahu. Pearl Harbor is the generic name that is used to describe the larger attack on Oahu because so many lives were lost on the ships that were in port at Pearl Harbor. From the Visitor center, a Navy boat takes visitors out onto the Harbor to the newly renovated Arizona Memorial located on top of the sunken hull of the USS Arizona where the remains of over 900 sailors are entombed. A retired battleship, the USS Missouri, is anchored nearby, and a WWII era submarine, USS Bowfin, is not far away.
da wa
Well I've waited most of my life to visit the Arizona memorial, it is very emotional. Depending on your disposition you might want bring tissue for yourself or who ever your with.
cstr
For a history freak like me this was an amazing place. Very crowded, though... Don't take to much stuff along, there's a long line for bags control.
Natalie Roberts
All the staff were friendly and asked visitors to remain respectful during the their visit. Efficient tours and well kept grounds.
Kevin S
Plan a 4-5 hour visit to this place. The Arizona memorial is free. The submarine, USS Missouri, and the flight museum need ticket.
axios76
If you want to visit USS Arizona memorial, there are still first come, first serve options.
Louis Keser
Well maintained and with a lot of different displays. Artifacts from multiple eras from the Attack on Pearl Harbor through the cold war. The volunteers were very helpful and patient.
Madeline Goodenough
It was a Honor to get to see the place where thousands of men and woman lost there life's so we could be a free country. GOD BLESS THEM ALL and there families to
Durelle Kurlinski
So very emotional. The National Park folks really make the experience moving and filled with respect and honor for those lost.
Theresa Guthrie
2nd time visiting, but first time hitting all the musuems/attractions. Unfortunately with structural concerns you can no longer go out onto the Arizona memorial which is disappointing. We did enjoy the informative movies and exhibits.
Wendi Barnard
I'm a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and I was stationed at Hickam Air Force Base back in the early 90s. In fact, I was lucky enough to reenlist on the USS Arizona. While a lot of things have changed, this amazing place has remained unchanged (somewhat) It is a place that exemplifies America courage & grit. It's also a place to reflect with gratitude for the sacrifices of many men.
We visited during the government shutdown and the Hawaiian people kept it funded so tourists could visit this historic site. Thank you. If you go to Hawaii, please visit Pearl Harbor and pay homage. This is an important historic site.
PSA: Our tour guide was also a veteran and he expressed the importance of being respectful while visiting the memorial. Unfortunately while we were on the boat that took us out to the memorial, the yahoos in front of us decided that it was okay to talk non stop & take lots of group photos. Show some reverence and be quiet while on the boat to the memorial. Be respectful of the sacrifice.
Maria Summerville
Beautiful! You are overcome with a very somber feeling, knowing the historical significance of this place. When in Hawaii, it's s must visit.
Mustafa Al-Waily
A nice memorial site and well maintained. The free tour to the USS Arizona has an informative video that tells what happened prior WWII. The two museums are nice but takes only a few minutes to go through. Free parking and entry is a plus. The audio tour is suggested.
Meenal Iyer
well organized tour through Enoa travels..great tour guides..the movie and the museum are must do. The boat tour was ok since we could not go into USS Arizona memorial..it opens in the fall apparently
Jonathan Espinosa
A collection of museums and a film really brings the events of Pearl Harbor to life and give a history leading up to World War 2 that I never knew about. Both a sad and beautiful experience that honors the memory of the fallen.
Marie Newell
What an amazing experience. To go to a place where so much happened that impacted Our Lives forever. Truly moved by this historical site. To the men that lost their lives.... we are all forever grateful for your sacrifice.
What a beautiful way to honor them.
Carmen Navarro Designs
So much history and honor on this site. Really brings you to tears to be in such a monumental location. Learning about this in history class years & years ago, doesn't compare to actually be here in person.
lyndon taman
Great and informative. Answered questions that I never thought of until there. Staff was great, Navy sailors were stern and respectful.
Great time.
NITISH DHAKAL
Beautiful memorial . We left early and paid our respect to the brave soldiers of world war 2. Since we left early we got the pass as early as 8 AM. The pass leads to a short movie then the boat tour to the memorial. Memorial is a fantastic structure architecturally. We contemplated and paid our tribute.
James Christie
They have really done a very nice job with this entire place. The Arizona, the Bowfin Memorial, and everything else is really very amazing. Nice job. An absolute must see if you’re on the island of Oahu!!
Rick Kolovich
My 2nd time visiting the Arizona Memorial. Disappointing to learn that no one is allowed in due to the launch dock needing repairs. It's still worth visiting since you get a better view of the Missouri.
Shari Flynn
This will give you a new respect for our military and their sacrafices. It's a very humbling experience. Cool fun fact for me was the original bullet holes still in the hanger windows.
Michelle Lawson
This tour and museum never disappoint. They are engaging and informative. It's a short boat ride to the memorial, go in the early morning and sit toward the front of the boat if you're prone to seasickness. Get tickets online or the day of at 7am. It's a humbling experience to realize what others gave up for our country.
Matt Triola (Tree)
This is worth a visit. We bought the passport which got you to the Arizona memorial (which is free ordinarily but you are competing with anyone else who shows up), the battleship, the air museum (eat here - good and plentiful), and the submarine. If you are going to read all the displays, it is pretty much an all day visit with the passport.
Melodee Malone
History at it's best! Unfortunately the boats weren't running to the memorial so that part of the trip was disappointing.Museum was interesting to go through and the movie was very informative.
Brent Ross
Honestly underwhelming. Having been to Vicksburg and Shiloh, and the USAF museum, it's just not what other NPS sites are. Also, the NPS has teamed up with some foundation to get $72 per person out of you to see the whole thing
Joe Zago
Really great way to teach us about the history of PH.
Gift shop had no free bags though .
ROSALIN MANGARAJ
Good when you hear the history but the Arizona memorial is just a 2 min walk once u reach there..... good photo opportunity...
costa maya
It was a cool experience, got to know more about what happened in Pearl Harbour on that day. They have a gift shop, so you can get some souvenirs. Also a food place, I didn't stay there for long for me to eat there but I saw one. (To get on the submarine (second picture) you have to pay ticket fees.)
Jeff .j
Pearl harbor is a must see, however, if you can wait to come that would be better. Right now the dock at the memorial is under construction. They take your out near there but it is lackluster compared to going to the memorial. Also, get tickets ahead of time or get there about 30 minutes before they open. It gets busy
Noah Schulte
This place does an amazing job of bringing this historical event to life. It illustrates both sides of the story well, and really shows how much of a tragedy it was. Additionally, the movie before going to the monument, is great. I highly recommend this to people visiting Oahu.
Keith Simpson
Very moving experience.
Next time I would go independently the tours from Waikiki are overpriced.
Carmi Scheller
The Navy service members, facility operators, and National Park Rangers are helpful, reverent, knowledgeable, and most importantly share the stories connecting us to the past.
young jung
It's nice to know that Japanese didn't attack civilians at that time of bombing the pearl harbor. (I'm a korean.) Good to bring kids to educate history.
Kyra Beaty
It had been quite a long time since I last visited the island and Pearl harbor. While admission is now free, there is no actual dock connection to the Arizona Memorial anymore so you sail around the harbor and listen to an audio while on the ferry. Still very interesting and reflective, but ya. We were told that they stopped docking at the memorial over a year ago.
Rose Whitehurst
Absolutely amazing. If you love history this is a must do trip. Just wish the USS Arizon Memorail would have been repaired and opened back up to the public.
Matthew Gonzalez
Great place to go if you love history and want to honor ones who died. The headset is so informative. It makes you feel as you are there
Jason Clarke
Brilliant day out here seeing the history of pearl harbour. Worth noting that you can get free tickets onto the USS Arizona tour if you arrive first thing in the morning these are limited to around 1500 tickets but if you arrive for gates opening you won't have a problem. USS Arizona tour was well run and very educational and filled in the gaps of my knowledge. the rest of the museum site was very interesting and we'll layed out with lots to do and keep you interested.
Mel Dennison
Much to see and do. Right now the monument is closed to cracks in the dock. You do go on the boat and go right along side. The movie you see before going on the boat is excellant.
Michael Barclay
Pretty efficiently run, reasonably priced. The Arizona memorial was closed but I really enjoyed the Bowfin tour.
Tom sizemore
An amazing place to visit. If you ever get the chance please don't hesitate, take it.
Stevan Muskett
Informative a day moving place to visit. Would recommend 2 days if you want to fit in all the exhibits.
Mike and Jackie Wheat
You cannot visit Honolulu and not take part in this memorial experience! You will not be the same, once you have visited. THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE AND CONTINUE TO SERVE in the armed forces!
Michael Bennion
A moving experience for me. My cousin, Mervyn Sharp Bennion, Captain of the West Virginia, died in the attack, winning a posthumous Medal of Honor. This impressive place is well worth the time and effort to visit.
Egshina Byambatseren
Personally not a fan of historical sights like these, but for any history fanatic, it is perfect. You are welcome to do tours by yourself with their audio tours, or you can wander with a group. Multiple areas worth visiting, especially this one huge boat that you can enter and visit. Everything has very detailed information about the history of the place or item you're viewing.
Eleanor Smith
The Pearl Harbor historic site is informative and emotional. The film is amazing, with real life footage of the attack. But for me it was ultimately disappointing because the Arizona Memorial itself is closed, and that is what I wanted to see on this once in a lifetime trip. Has been closed for over 11 months it turns out because the floating dock leading to the Memorial is unsafe and requires repair. They say it is supposed to reopen March 2019. The Navy and the Park Service do what they can, and very admirably, with the film, markers, and taking you out by boat to near the Arizona. You must stay seated in the boat though, so you can't see the sunken Arizona below the surface. Had I known the actual Memorial was inaccessible, I would have scheduled my trip for after it reopens.
Illia Wen
Really somber yet beautiful spot. I just went onto the harbor to look out and pay respect to those listed on the memorial. I also walked through this little museum that was extremely informative and answered all the questions I had. The whole thing makes sense now! Also these were free! So I felt totally satisfied with this trip!
Paul Summers
An amazing step back in time. Examining why it happened was also very enlightening and unexpected. Oahu is not just about retail therapy and flopping by the pool with your Mai Tai.
Elprede777
A truly historic place that's well maintained and honors history. As a native Hawaiian I have no issue visiting this site over and over again.
PS massage
The submarine tour and museum were the highlights. The Arizona exhibit (which should have been the highlight) is closed for another year or so due to the dock needing to be replaced. The only food on site is hotdogs, nachos or soup. If you need food there is a restaurant close by called Restaurant 604 only a 10 minute walk outside the Pearl harbor exhibit, the food and restaurant pics are from Restaurant 604.
T J
Just visited the entry and Arizona. Definitely recommend it. Quite surreal. Enjoyed the audio tour!! Respect
Kris Boyden
Beautiful and very moving & emotional experience. Our dad was a US Navy pilot in WWII and his brother a surgeon in the Navy at the same time... our momma was a welder in the Navy shipyard in Tacoma, WA during the war!!! Yes, we're very proud of our family and their service.
DeAnn Dumit
The reason we came to Hawaii was for the Chestatee Band to perform at Pearl Harbor. We enjoyed being there, learned a lot and it was very heartbreaking to learn about what happened on December 7, 1941.
Josh Pratt
The visitor center is just the hub that connects you to the other sites. It does have a few small displays and memorials, but is only worth a visit if you are seeing the other sites like the Battle ship or submarine
James Charsley
Heart of Missouri tour is worth the extra time and money. Very well done facility and visitor complex.
ricky reda
Nice clean facility. You could easily spend the entire day here. We got there around 715am during February break and got 745am free Arizona memorial tickets. It definitely got much more crowded as the day went on.
Duane Schultz
A poignant and sad experience. Very moving. Helped me understand the causes of the war. I was disappointed at the general condition of the various exhibits and that the Arizona memorial is still closed. There is no apparent activity to repair it
Natalie Ana Borkoski Parker
This was my first visit and I definitely plan on coming back. Everything was set up very well. The people working there were very customer friendly and very knowledgable. The ride out to the memorial is very smooth and quick. The video doesn't take long at all and it is very informative. The memorable itself is beautiful.
Alyssa Neuhauser
I’ll never forget this incredible experience. Getting to tour the USS Arizona memorial along with boarding a battleship were truly some unforgettable experiences!
Ms Spears
Great education and experience for kids and adults to know the WWII history. The devastation war comes from freedom.
Adventure Boy 808
This was a great hands on way to experience history!!! Bring your own food though! The variety in food is lacking. You can bring a cooler and check it in to the storage area or just leave it in the car. Parking is somewhat limited, but be patient and you’ll find a spot! We would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting this area!
Jamie B
Awesome Value, great history to learn about, very well delivered by the National Parks and the Navy. The Navy boys getting us across the water were extremely professional. And the parks staff were very helpful.
Shame the Arizona Memorial was closed for renovations.
Carol Haggarty
Lovely place a must see. Even if you only have an hour, you watch a short documentary, then take a boat over to the memorial. Its beautiful.
Victor H Bedoya A
An obligated place to visit in Oahu, you will know the real story about the atack and so impressive to see the ships under the water.
Mary Christensen
Pearl Harbor was a very memorable experience. Wasn't able to board the monument due to the dock being broken, but was able to sail around it and still see it.
Douglas Chrystall
If you are staying on the Island you must visit. Don't waste your time with an Uber or Taxi, just take the bus or tourist bus.
John Machacek
Historic site, great job by National Park Services and US Navy personnel on preserving and presenting the stories of this pivotal moment in WWII.
Ashley Schaus
No words to describe this place of remembrance. That 8 minute boat right felt so much faster than one would think.
Noelani
Wonderful experience and you can totally go for free! Parking, the Arizona Memorial boat tour and movie are all free admission however the bowfin and aviation museum are all at an extra fee. They have implemented a no bag policy this unfortunately includes DIPPER BAGS. You can buy a locker before entering or leave it in your car however break-ins have occurred in the parking lot. Not a lot of close parking but a lot of parking further down the road.
Ian Thorpe
The pier is broken, so visitors can not actually go out onto the Arizona memorial. The real tragedy is it seems like there is no urgency to make the repairs.
Daniel Werner
If you are on ohau you just have to visit this place, it's pretty neat. I went to the battleship Missouri and had a blast, really cool ship. The submarine was closed for maintenance.
Rag Sam K (raghavrockzz)
It all begins here...
America entered world war 2 after japanese bombing on pearl harbor and you can visit multiple sites here to get to uss arizona or missouri or the submarines on show here.
Ryan Steele
Absolutely amazing and terrible at the same time. Just heartbreaking to think about the lives lost.
AllanKate Vlog
It's an honor to see the USS Arizona Pearl Harbor Historic site.awesome its free to visits and awesome experiences
Marla Harris
This was a great experience. They are repairing the monument so we could only get close on a ferry, so I want to go back again when it's open and have more time.
barry “Barron Samedi” adaska
A somber and humbling reminder of the sacrifices that are brave men in uniform gave to protect our freedoms and way of life here in America and the Patriotic reminder to always live for mother God and Country definitely do not miss for any family member descendant of a military both retired and active
melissa s
Definitely a must-see! I highly suggest taking the tour and going below deck. We were able to go pretty much everywhere the crew had and hear interesting details about The signing of the treaty.
Troy Miller
Humbling experience. Video is moving then the Navy takes you around where the ships that sank now lay. A lot of knowledgeable people with lots of extra info after you get off the boat. Very well done and can move at your own pace.
Katrina Kenny
Very moving tribute. The floating memorial is not open at the moment due to repairs being required. We were told this may be open by October.
Max M.
So grateful for all who served and remembering the lives lost during this tragic event. It was a really cool experience to tour and pay our respects. We didn't spend too much time at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center. The USS Arizona is closed for maintenance but there's a free Memorial program which includes a documentary film with actual attack footage as well as a ride on a US Navy Shuttle boat to the Memorial. Tickets for the USS Arizona Memorial program are given out free of charge each morning on a first come, first served basis. There were plenty at 945 a.m. when we grabbed ours.
It rained when we arrived but skies were clear again within 15 minutes. Dress appropriately. I didn't get sick on the shuttle boat but I will say I was dizzy for the following 3 days because of it. I regretted not taking a dramamine (I get nauseated easily- even in car rides).
Our online $45 ticket included the Battleship Missouri, where the documents ending World War II were signed and the USS Oklahoma Memorial. We also explored the Bowfin submarine using an audio tour.
Make sure you reserve enough time to explore everything! Everyone went with a tour guide on the Missouri, but because our time was limited, we winged it and went solo. We got there at 945 a.m and left at 130 p.m and let me tell you, that was us rushing. We didn't stop to eat or shop in the stores. It took about 20 minutes to wait for the shuttle bus to go back. You can snack on the nearby $6 hot dog while you wait, like I did. Overall, it was a great experience!
Edit: I forgot to add I did stop at the jewelry shop. Opened a clam and found a pearl. It's located on the left side of the entrance to the overpriced store. It's $15, but it's free if you buy your expensive newspaper photo after the tour next door. Or if you mount it, which I did on a white gold ring with a diamond. So beautiful and fun to do. But expect to spend about $200 and up to mount it on a jewelry (ring, necklace etc.) I'll post photos!
mullicrk
A must for all Americans....expect to spend many hours here and make sure to get your free tickets for the Arizona.
Garry Hawthorne
The sheer volume of what occurred that day is overwhelming. The rememerence of those who died is unimaginable, yet eloquently captured with these memorials.
Jim Heesacker
Sad day in American history that everyone should have the honor to see first hand. Informative, yet very moving tribute to those we lost.
Alexander Pauwelyn
Going to Pearl Harbor is something you have to do during your stay in Hawaii. It can be a little confusing because there are a lot of different price packages, but I would recommend going for the USS Arizona monument (and movie) which is for free. It gives a good insight in what led up to, and what happened the day of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
john schumacher
A great location to see with so much history and detail. You can take guided tours, watch films or just walk around the site.
Sherie Joe Tupas
It will take more than a day to visit each of the historic sites. To be able to read and take in all of the information, expect to spend more than just a day when you visit this place because there are four sites.
Paul U
Did not know what to expect, but was well educated on some things. Did a full tour around USS AZ Memorial, USS Missouri, & Pacific Aviation. Did this on Memorial Day 2016.
Nick Girard
It’s a little confusing since part of this is a National Monument and part is tours from a non-profit. We did the USS Arizona tour which is the National Monument and it’s free; plus you can walk around the grounds and they have little museums. Skip the tickets you have to pay for unless you want to stay alllll day. We spend 3-4 hours on free stuff to do.
Gatillero V.
A must visit when in Oahu. Great service. Is best if u do the visit with small group. USS Arizona is free.
Kris Ritter
A somber reminder of what our parents and grandparents lived through. Historically relevant, eye opening and compelling. Glad we went there. Especially poignant for my husband whose Dad served on the Nevada after Pearl Harbor
Lola M
Very humbling place to visit. They do an amazing job of educating people about the actual events as well as honoring those who were impacted.
Dick & Sandy Skalitzky
Very moving, informative and sometimes emotional experience that everyone should consider visiting while in Hawaii. The museum includes historical explanations of the attack, original artifacts and also videos with actual survivors of the Pearl Harbor attack which allow you to get an idea of what these young men and women went through. The boat ride to the Arizona memorial is well worth it (even though as of December 2018 you cannot disembark onto the memorial platform due to repairs to it). We rented the virtual reality tour of the Arizona memorial at the museum and it was if we were actually on the memorial platform. The VR also includes video of what it was like being on the Arizona battleship in 1941.
jjpoulsen01
I have wanted to see Pearl Harbor for a long time and even though it was pouring rain it was worth it. I loved the movie we watched before the tour and all the items they had in the museum were so interesting.
Here is information about the tickets. We didn’t get tickets at the 2 month before we wanted to go mark but I got online at 7am (local time) the day before we wanted to go and had not problems getting tickets.
There are three ways to secure the movie/boat tickets to the Memorial:
Two months out, 325 tickets are place online at recreation.gov. The official National Park Service website for its Parks. Please note there are three choices to choose from in getting these tickets.
Each day at 7:00am Hawaii Standard Time an additional 525 tickets are placed on recreation.gov for the next day's reservations.
If you were not able to secure your movie/boat tickets for the USS Arizona Memorial online, the National Park Service gives out over 1,300 free walk up tickets each day on a first come, first serviced basis. Be sure to arrive early for these walk up tickets, the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center opens at 7:00am.
Robert Firczyk
True memorial for the Pearl Harbor history. I recommend the free trial (including a short movie and a boat cruise around the Arizona memorial).
Christina Lindsey
At first I felt like the price was kind of steep, but when you look at the fact that you get four museums for that price, it is definitely worth it. It's well kept, the staff is very nice and helpful. Definitely do this if you are in Oahu
Ryan Greville
I am the sort of person that reads every placard and poster, so if this is something you also like, then Pearl Harbour is not to be missed.
Jimmy Tanghongs
Great to see the USS Arizona Memorial in person. Learned about submarines, nukes, weapons of the era. Transition from battleship to carriers. Most importantly, learned why the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and saw footage of Navy and Marines recounting their experience with the war. It wasn't just a war between nations or leaders - it was the effect made on millions of people.
Robert Leal
Very serious there... i loved it! Everyone there to mourn and remember people who lost their lives that day... never forget that experience
Anil Darji
Give yourself enough time to visit here. There are multiple museum and sites to visit. Parking may be a little issue but you can park on the far side.
Stacy Norman
Friendly and informative. If you're driving leave your bags/backpacks in car as they are not allowed inside memorial.
Jason Redman
Friendly volunteers and staff made visiting this site that much more meaningful. Leaned a lot about that day and will never forget those that made the ultimate sacrifice.
Dale Currier
A need too visit memorial when you are in Hawaii. Very sad part of American history. Very educational.
Katelynn Watson
This was easily one of the best parts of my trip to Oahu. The Arizona memorial is fantastic, and the Missouri will leave you feeling part of action.
Linda Pederson
Great tours! USS Missourj and USS Bowfin provided great insight to the conditions, challenges & sacrifices these individuals had to face. Humbling place to be. Everyone should see.
Rostyslav Sydorenko
It’s hard to find parking as it is a very popular place. Make sure to bring a water.
They have 2 free museums you can visit to learn about the attack on Pearl Harbor and events lead to that.
For an additional fee you can visit USS Missouri, that I highly recommend, Aviation museum, submarine.
If you want to visit USS Arizona, make sure to book tickets in advance. Like at least month before your visit. USS Arizona tickets are free on the official website.
Heather Santos
Amazing. Honor to be able to visit. Arrive early 6:30am to get tickets to USS Arizona!
Jon Hall sr
If you have not been to pearl harbor then you haven't visited Oahu....... a must see, must feel sacred place.
Jami Z
What a surreal experience. The oil is still slowly seeping up leaving slicks on the surface that are very colorful. The room at the back of the memorial displays the names of all of the souls entombed below. Something anyone and everyone should experience.
Steve Harrell
A must visit! Great historical experience and chance to honor those lost.
Currently you can't get on the memorial as the landing pier is under repair, but you get a ride up and down battleship row.
Joseph Large
If you love WWII history you can’t miss this the biggest battleship I’ve been on
Sara Morgan
Worth it. Need to take an entire day to see everything. USS Arizona memorial is closed for maintenance until further notice. They do take you on a boat to get close.
Boreal Wanderers
Wow, a must see. Visited nearly all of the indoor and outdoor exhibits over nearly an entire day from 1000hrs to closing. Recommend the full package experience which includes shuttles between sites and all individual site admissions. Profoundly well-prepared exhibits, interpretive signage, technology assisted interpretation, and well-versed staff. Very worthwhile. Read the prepare-before-you-go information on websites. Most of the exhibits exist on an active military base, so lockers are available at entrance admission to store items such as backpacks or carry-bags which are not permitted on-site. Staff at entrance, throughout exhibits, in eateries and at entrance security are very professional and greatly talented in hospitality.
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. We will remember them."
Maira Ladeira Tanke
Very interesting site. I do recommend to arrive early so that you can explore all the different parts of it
Vivianna Solis
Amazing! Definitely a place to visit when in Hawaii. The boat ride was full of heartbreak emotions and saddness. Had a great experience for sure.
chris horn
There isn't a whole lot to see for free but there is some
mike cone
Just fantastic. Great memorial to that tragic day. Shame that the memorial is closed down. Still worth the trip as entry is free and the boat ride around the memorial is only $30
Charles Pickett (Chucky Chux)
Great place to go and learn history, beautiful area and the Govt has done outstanding keeping this memorial sacred and presentable.
Randy Medina
They just reopened to the public and havent been here for over 40 years. It's must visit... Thank you all for your service and ultimate sacrifice. Aloha...
Marilu Cordova
Such a profound historical site. Definitely a must see if you are in the area.
Therese B Bianca
The USS Arizona boat ride is free. Very informative. There are also other free exhibits. You can choose the family friendly tour (for children). The staff are very nice and helpful . The USS Bowfin Submarine can also be found here but you have to pay to get in the museum and submarine ($15). I highly recommend visiting if you haven't been before.
Angel Convey
No greater lesson in respect of history needed. Some things you have to see with your own eyes.
remix “remix405” 405
If visiting the Island of Oahu, pearl harbor is a must see. This is a location of a major event in US history and it is so surreal to witness the memorial site at battleship row where hundreds of men still lie below.
Mary-anne Stuart-William
Great historical value, you get a real appreciation for what happened here. But also it is a working harbour so of course you get to see a few very cool ships you wouldn't ordinarily see.
Lizeth Vera Rodriguez
It’s definitely a place with a lot of culture and an incredible view, it breathes tranquility.
I really like the free guided tour they give you on the boat, where they teach you the whole story, as well as the theater where they project as it all happens.
You can tour the place and read all the posters about how it all happened.
Marcus Wax
Amazing history. The sheer volume of exhibits, ships, and aircraft is staggering but add to that amazing depth too! Plan to spend a full day, at least, to see it all. Verycoming and polite staff.
sam mitch

Such a great memorial. Highlight of our trip. Was not able to get reservations for Arizona memorial but standby line moved very quickly and was able to visit. Moving place

We saw the US Arizona and the US Bowfin and both were educational and well worth it.
Robbie Erickson
Very worth the trip. I was skeptical that my 10 year old daughter would enjoy herself at Pearl Harbor. She loved it and was one of our top memories from our trip to Oahu. Make sure you check it out.

Because we were jet-lagged, we woke up super early and decided to check out Pearl Harbor. Here's a tip! RENT A CAR. I'm looking at all these tours and they charge so much money. GUESS WHAT? Pearl Harbor is FREE!! That's right - FREE!!! So don't get ripped off. On the website, it says that they give away 1300 free tickets daily.
Address:
1 Arizona Memorial Road
Honolulu, HI. 96818
Type that address in and you'll arrive at the parking lot.
They do not allow backpacks, purses, fanny packs, camera bags, luggage, diaper bags or shopping bags. Leave it in your car. OR check it in at their lockers - they charge extra but I'm not sure how much.
Once you enter, grab a ticket. You will watch a 25 minute documentary (really interesting) and then you will take a free boat ride to the USS Arizona Memorial (also free) and then you come back and then you can take a walk around.
This place is open from 7:00am - 5:00 pm. First tour starts at 7:45 am and last tour is at 3:00 pm)
It's a beautiful place to visit so spread the word and don't pay money to expensive tour companies.

Lots of history. Memorial was nicely done. Went to uss Arizona and was magnificent.
Cole Trickle and family fun
Very beautiful. Loved to see all the information around, memories of those who are alive and passed from Pearl harbor. Sad the Arizona is having issues but the boat tour changes to show you the Arizona and a little more is pretty neat. Look forward to when they have the tour fixed so we can go back. Other then that the whole place is absolutely wonderful.

One of the best WW2 memorials on the planet. The plaques you can read are moving and inspire emotion. When you look up at the mountains across the harbor and realize that those are the same mountains the Japanese flew over it really adds another element to the emotion!
Dan Butler
We called ahead and arranged having our choir group sing a few songs. They we're very welcoming. The exhibits really allowed our history to sink in with some of the kids. Not a lot of shade and not allowed to bring in anything but a REALLY small bag. Two of the only complaints I had.
Joe Kupris
I enjoyed visiting the historical center and learning more about our role in defeating the Imperial Japanese Navy during WWII.

An absolute must For anyone who visits Honolulu! I truly sacred spot that we must honor for many generations to come
Wilbert Acevedo
Great place to learn about history and remember the fallen. Great place to visit and is for all ages.
L.D Jennings
I'm so grateful it's here. It's a great testimony for the greatest generation. It reinforces my love for American.
Kevin Shankland
It's a very interesting and informative site. The submarine avalible to check out isn't very big and doesn't take long. It took a group of 6 about 20 minutes to go through the whole submarine. There are people inside that you can ask questions, however they didn't look very welcoming. You have to take a boat out the monument. It's not very bumpy or bad, but do be aware you have to take a boat out to the monument. Definitely a spot to take the family, and teach them about America's envolvment in WW2.
Molly De La Cruz
This place was absolutely worth it. There is so much emotion attached and everything is overwhelming. Definitely recommend coming to visit.

Pearl Harbor was a time of reflection, and contemplation
What happened here 70 years ago. Woll have you rethinking your life choices.
Richard Burke
Emotional moment in history. They did a tremendous job of showing you what that day was like. Go early.
Tim Bernaerdt
A must visit when in Hawaii. Make sure to get in time or reserve enough time to wait so you can sail over the wreck.
Kevin Baker
Sobering place. Deep appreciation for military personnel who gave their life for this country. Salute
vikki robinson
An amazing tribute to our hero's. Definitely put this on your list of things to do.
Jess Rowan
Very hard to find the right tickets online. Spent WAY TOO much for what we wanted to see.
Kayera
Great quick tour its free to visit tickets given in the mornings they have a short movie and a boat ride. The Arizona monument isn't open but great quick visit.
Damiano Minuto
Really informative. We took the basic package with the audio tour and it was more than enough to get the big picture. Well done. Must visit!
BC Christopher
Great remembrance of such a tragic event. Bummed the USS Arizona memorial is still closed.
Teresa Batchelder
A very sobering site. Our bus driver said the USS Arizona still bleeds, leaking oil. I was very sad during our trip, but very thankful to have experienced the Memorial.
Ken Gee
The boat tour is interesting! And remember not to bring your bag in when you go because bags are not allowed, if you do bring a bag you need to check it it into bag check for $5, or you could just put it back into your car quickly
Eamonn Sharples
If this is not on your bucket list then it's time to reassess. This is a huge part of war history and an eye opener of the tragedy it creates.
Julia Passmore
Our visit to Pearl Harbour was one of the highlights if our trip. Our guide was engaging, knowledgeable and so informative. The site is a beautiful tribute to that important moment in history. Plan to spend several hours. I could have easily spent more time there.
Manuel Colón
Pro-tip: You cannot bring any bags into the site. So, be sure to leave them in your car/tour bus or you will have to pay a $5 storage charge. Also, while tickets are free to see the USS Arizona, they are timed so makes sure you get there in time. I would factor at least 3 hours.
