My husband and I booked a 35 minute tour Saturday, October 22, 2022, partly to celebrate our second wedding anniversary and partly because I had always wanted to ride in a helicopter. We had never been to Bolton Airfield before but it was small and easy to find. It was also an OSU football home game so we had fun watching the planes pick up and drop off the banners to fly over the stadium. Our pilot corresponded with us directly via text/phone and helped us easily navigate to the correct hanger. I do not enjoy flying on airplanes (and I was downright terrified during a hot air balloon ride some years prior) so I was a little worried how my nerves would fare. My husband sat up front (best views) and I was in the back next to an empty seat. It was snug in the back but very comfortable. Three passengers would be possible. The helicopter flight was so much different from airplane flight: I never felt afraid or anxious. It was kind of like floating--It was awesome. During the tour we had to stay away from most of the Horseshoe and downtown due to game day airspace restrictions (It was either 3 or 5 miles, I cannot recall, but we could still see a little bit of the Shoe and downtown--if you want to see that stuff just don't book on a football game day or schedule your time appropriately). Even with the restrictions we still got a great tour of the west/northwest side of Franklin & Delaware Counties, the zoo, Alum Creek, the endless McMansions of Powell, etc. The views were spectacular. I took a lot of photos. At the end our pilot graciously took some photos of us in front of the helicopter. The 35-min went very fast--we were glad we did that instead of the 25 min. It was worth the extra $. We want to do the night tour next time. 10/10 would recommend.

Awesome experience! Took the night flight and it was really cool to see a familiar place from a new perspective, with twinkling lights. Would like to do a day or sunset flight next! The pilot was knowledgeable and the hangar was cool to see.
