Reviews of Wyoming Travel & Tourism
This photo is actually of the Abraham Lincoln Memorial outside of Laramie, WY. It's off of Happy Jack Road.
Nice memorial and rest area. A fairly large rest area with covered picnic options and very large parking area with upper and lower portions.
It lies just East of Laramie, WY which is also a nice town that I recommend - home to University of Wyoming.
There is an inside building with restrooms and some Wyoming displays as well. This area is open 24/7 if I'm not mistaken.
We always love stopping here. They have such a nice setup and mini museum with facts about Wyoming including a fake jail for a great photo opportunity. Loads of pamphlets and very knowledgeable staff. Clean restrooms. Large walking trail with several plaques to read along the way as well. And a great spot to watch the sunrise!
Probably the best rest area/ information center we have encountered across 35 states. Friendly staff, loads of information, fascinating exhibits, and decent coffee. On top of it all, it’s renewable energy self-sufficient. What’s not to like? Well lit, secure and remarkably quiet, it’s was a great overnight spot.
The Wyoming Travel and Tourism Center is located in Laramie County and is a great place to stop for information and maps or if you just need a rest stop. Bathroom facilities open 24/7 for your convenience and just a nice clean well maintained building. Also a small informative museum, and I think the kids might enjoy this as well. I discovered that Wyoming is a major source of Dinosaur Fossils.
Perhaps the best rest area it the western us. My opinion! Something to see and learn while making use of a well maintained facility.
Probably one of the best rest stops we have ever been to. Very impressive
Best Rest Area I've ever been to and as a trucker I've been to A LOT. wonderful dog run, Jackaby approves too. 🐾 …
This is the place to start to plan your discovery of Wyoming.
Great place to grab all the maps and information you will need for you trip in Wyoming! Big clean bathrooms! Could use more vending machines, but other than that, perfect!
This was one of the coolest road side stops that I've been to. They definitely presented Wyoming well and made me feel grateful that I had stopped.
Awesome and bathrooms are open 24/7
Great place to stop, relax and visit.
Very nice... clean 🚻 …
Actually great place to stop for a bathroom break but also get a little info about Wyoming with some really cool displays.
Really cool place nice and clean too
I bt tail so not sure if they allow parking for trucks
I didn't see any, but I will say that it's signs all over the plane for no overnight parking
It was very nice, but I miss that it isn't in the older visitors center location. I I'd enjoy the cleanliness of the restrooms. The museum area is well done. There is an interactive area for kids; great feature. I did particularly enjoy the wall display regarding the environmental aspects of the design and property.
A very good and a very clean Welcome Center! I also very much like the history provided in a small museum setting! The building is very unique and you feel safe stopping! Enjoy!
This place is so cool! Stopped in for a quick break and ended up hanging out for about 45 minutes. All rest stops should be like this one.
This is probably the best Visitor Center that we have visited anywhere across the US. It has a completely fenced in exercise yards for pets. It has five museums in one building including a dinosaur skeleton. It has lots of interactive exhibits for kids a nice place to take a break on a long drive. Free coffee free postcards free stickers. Also lots and lots of educational and Geographic geologic information on the state. The information is also printed in many different languages for visitors.
Great place to stop and stretch your legs. Make sure to go i side to the visitor center & museu. Great dog run, picnic spots big parking spaces.
Spent the night in our trailer in the parking lot. Rv dump station. Clean safe and not too noisey considering the adjacent interstate and trucks running engines overnight. Apparently a nice museum here at this building but closed right now due to COVID. VERY windy!
EDIT! we were just informed that overnight stay is prohibited and we were fortunate that we were not told to move along by state police. Nevertheless, the nicest state welcome station we've visited.
Very nice rest area and information center! Pet areas, nice landscaping, a fair amount of truck parking, handicapped accessible and it's warm inside and has nice restroom amenities, read: real toilets, not that stainless steel insanity! Wyoming, you've done well! :-)
Really nice looking welcome center. One of the best ones I've been to so far. If you haven't been here before and are heading to Colorado from Wyoming or Wyoming from Colorado I really recommend stopping by and checking it out. It's a great place to stop, rest, take some pictures and enjoy the scenery.
Nice place to stop stretch out take the dogs out and nice clean restrooms
I don't normally write reviews and I especially don't normally write reviews for rest areas. But this place has it all: Picnic tables, clean restrooms, family restrooms (also clean), dioramas, a slide, maps coloring books, brochures, a wooly mammoth (skeleton only), and much more. If you're driving past, I highly recommend stopping for a few minutes. You might just find yourself staying longer than you expected.
Really awesome architecture. I was impressed. Lighting at night was perfect.
Clean restroom, many maps, and a dinosaur that the kids would enjoy.
Interactive displays for kids and adults make this a fun informative stop. There are picnic tables, some with windbreaks, and lots of space for walking your dog. The amount of information available for places to visit was impressive.
Lovely place to stop during a road trip....nice, clean facilities, free dump station, potable water, dog park, and walking paths.
Very nice facility! No overnight parking allowed.
Very nice rest stop plus they have dump station and take on water too.
Amazing place to stop and learn about the history of Wyoming. Places to sit outside, information and a mini museum inside.
Absolutely incredible. Best welcome center I've ever been to in all my travels. Wyoming in all its glory on display. A must see.
Traveling through a bunch of states, this was probably one of the nicest travel stops
Brand new and fresh. Museum of Wyoming of sorts in main center. Plenty of info on Wyoming as well. Clean bathrooms and warmth if the weather turns bad, which is expected often here.
This is the coolest rest stop you will ever find, in any state... Maybe the Fargo ND one is slightly better because of the woodchipper.
A very good place to rest and look around inside when they are open.
This is probably the nicest state welcome center I've ever seen, it's more like a free mini museum of Wyoming and the staff are very helpful.
Temp closed for Covid ,should reopen this summer a rest stop with also a cool.museum and small trail system
Great visitors center. One of the best we've been to.
Great place for the kids to play. Clean restrooms and picnic areas. Nice fenced dog run.
The best rest-stop ever stayed at... good people, friendly place.
One of the best rest areas I've been to so far. The museum is definitely worth the stop.
Just dump at the dump station. Got water. Nice place but no overnight camping
Nice rest area, clean and neat. Has some historic museum inside it and outside environment is well maintained
This place is amazing, the artwork, the information. If you are travelling to Wyoming, you need to stop in and just have a look around even if you are only passing through.
Nice and clean! Very well-kept. There is an indoor bathroom, picnic area, and pet exercise area.
A good place for overnight parking. The restrooms are very clean.
This is a nice information center, with some interesting exhibits and very knowledgeable staff. There is a lot of literature and brochures available, as well as post cards.
First time in Wyoming stopped to use restrooms and pick up tourist info. Nice and clean
If you need a nice place to rest stop here!
The best visitor center so far
My kids love coming here when we get back into Wyoming, great displays.
Nice little stop. They have a little info about the Wyoming history. The Indian across the road invites the traveler.
Super informative. Nice place to stop on a road trip. The staff there was nice.
Lots of exhibits unique to Wyoming History. Helpful volunteers and many free brochures about places to visit in Wyoming.
