The Mental Wellness in Bali Chapter was a trip of a lifetime and Sojrn delivered so many unique experiences. The month flew by thanks to the specially curated activities, workshops and group bonding. Our Sojrn host, Mandy was a constant throughout out the entire month and provided more than I could have ever hoped for. She led the charge on getting us out of our comfort zones and introducing us to all things adventure, including leading an underwater snorkeling trip and multiple Yoga experiences. As someone who is more cautious, I was encouraged by Mandy to challenge myself and my abilities. My experience was incredibly heightened because of her! She made herself readily available and engaged with us on a daily basis. Her energy was infection and I learned so much from her. I know that she will be a lifelong friend thanks to this amazing trip.
Our local host, Andrea was just as great. She welcomed us to her home country and was very accommodating to all of our asks. She helped a few very stressful situations be easier to navigate. Priscilla was also so fun and engaging. She inspired me to be in the moment and dive into the culture that surrounded me. I learned so much about myself and the world, this trip will forever have changed me. I can't wait for my next adventure with Sojrn!

I am just concluding my month Sojrn in Rome with chapter topic of Roman History. I am reasonably well travelled person having visited 30 countries. This experience makes me reconsider my previous approach to world travel. The month in Rome ( with some side trips) was a fantastic approach. Sojrn balances the organized, in-depth experiences with independent free time to explore, recharge or get some work done. The local host, Silvia, provided a wealth of information from her background as a lifelong Roman with a PhD in history. She was able to weave together the aspects of roman history as they changed through ancient times and influence modern times. Silvia brings a passion and pride of the history of rome that was able to bring it to life. She doesn’t spout off facts/dates but brings out the significance and interconnection of all of our historical visits in a dynamic fashion. In my personal travels, I seek out knowledgeable guides to add depth. Silvia is one of the very best guides that I have ever had. Our chapter host, Rachel brought a tremendous knowledge of Rome & Italy coupled with the perspective of an American living in Rome for 13 years. Her charismatic personality, helped bring our group of travelers together, build friendships, inform on Roman history. Rachel was great in leading adventures to Siena for wine tasting, cooking class in Frascoti and Olive oil making. Rachel seamlessly ties together our outings with the history of the region and what we have previously learned about Roman history. The Duo of Silvia & Rachel created a dynamic, educational, inspiring and Invigorating experience. If you can pack comfortable walking shoes for cobblestone, a positive attitude, an open mind and a desire to learn, you will have an amazing Sojrn experience. I am already reviewing the Sojrn website for my next chapter-adventure.

I’ve had the pleasure of doing two Sojrns - one in Colombia (with Makayla as the host who was wonderful) and one in Greece (with Chara who was lovely). I greatly enjoyed both experiences. I ended both with a newfound appreciation for both countries + plenty of wonderful new friends. I do feel like what’s unique about this experience is it’s very difficult to meet friends as an adult, but going somewhere with a group for four weeks almost guarantees that everyone will come out of it being incredibly close. I do hope to do another Sojrn in the future.

What an incredible experience in Siena, Italy and learning so much more about wine! Being able to be slow, intentional, and immerse myself in another culture and city was exactly what I was looking for.
I have only positive things to say about Charlotte, our chapter host. She was the best, and her kind personality made me wish I lived closer to her so we could hang out more ☺️
Our local host, Giorgia was such a wealth of knowledge and such a great resource for anything and everything.
I worked during my Sojrn experience and loved that various activities and classes were during times that I could attend! I appreciate the attention to detail to provide reliable wifi access to ensure those working remotely can do so.
This was a nice taste of the digital nomad life, and was the perfect amount of time (in my opinion) Highly recommend Sojrn, and looking forward to joining another chapter!

Just returned from the Wine in Tuscany Sojrn and had an amazing experience! Tara and her team are professional, fun and everything was well organized. Our local hosts, Georgia and Daniele from the Tuscan Wine School were so knowledgeable and was a true pleasure to learn about wine from them. Additionally, they were a great resource for all things Siena and living like a local. What made Sojrn stand out for me was having everything taken care of. My apartment was clean, and centrally located. Having the coworking space available was a great amenity. But most of all, the people I met were wonderful. The weekly happy hours, organized wine tours and other events were a great way to get to know others in the group. If you’re looking for a local immersive experience this is it!!

Mental Wellness in Bali 2022 Chapter: This 4-week adventure was filled with uniquely curated mental, physical and spiritual activities; each with a goal of providing an authentic Balinese experience.
Our Sojrn host, Mandy, was readily available the entire Chapter. She was committed to ensuring the Chapter ran smoothly and bonding with the group. She attended most included activities, many of the optional, and regularly grabbed meals with group on her own time. Her constant presence was unlike my FTLO experience and was so greatly appreciated.
Our local host, Andrea, also played a crucial role in ensuring the Chapter ran smoothly, especially from a language barrier perspective. I, unfortunately, found myself ill on the trip and in need of medical attention. Andrea was by my side to assist with communications with the doctors and discharge. I was also extremely fortunate to have Priscila, from Ops, who happened to be on our trip, by my side. She immediately jumped into action when I asked for help and remained by my side, providing all the love and support, until my travel companion was able to meet us.
Overall, I'm happy with my choice to travel with Sojrn to Bali and so thankful to have had amazing ladies on the ground leading us through this journey. While I enjoyed my experience, I am providing a 4 star rating because this was the first Bali Chapter to take place and I do feel like there are some changes that should be made in order to make this an even a better experience for travelers. I'll be sharing those ideas in the post-Chapter survey.

I joined the Fashion in Paris SOJRN Chapter in the fall. It was just what I was looking for now that I have flexibility to work remotely In particular, I was excited to find a trip that arranged a workspace and group of people to share the experience with. Our local host Esther and chapter host Theresa were super helpful and pleasant, offering tons of tips and great company, and making the transition to Parisian life quick, easy and fun. The group of women in my chapter were also lovely, and it was so nice to make connections with women from all over the US. The workspace Deskopolitan was perfect, just what I expected from the trip. I took away a star because I expected the accommodations to be more homey and Parisian; we stayed in a bit of a generic hotel that didn't have much storage space. And additionally since some of the group was working fulltime, while others part-time or not working, it could be tricky to meet up with some of the group outside of planned events since schedules could be quite different. Since being with a group that was in a similar situation as me was a big factor in wanting to join, this was disappointing.

I recently came back from the Fashion in Paris chapter and overall, I'm pretty satisfied with my Sojrn! I absolutely love my hosts, Esther and Theresa! Esther became like our French mom. She was so caring and helpful in aiding the group to navigate the city. She also went out of her way whenever I had feedback to help incorporate it in our experiences! Theresa was also great! She was super knowledgeable on fashion and has a vibrant energy! Both of them deserve 5 stars!
The reason for the 4 stars is that there are a few kinks still being worked out by the company such as some organizational things. However, Sojrn is pretty great about answering any questions you have. Before the trip, I contacted them a few times with questions and they responded in a prompt manner. They are also always working to make the experience better with any feedback you provide.
For anyone questioning to do a Sojrn, I would say do it and be open to the experience and embrace the journey. If you're like me who likes to know what you're getting into, then ask as many questions as you'd like to the Sojrn team. As I mentioned, they are responsive and super friendly! It's only so often you get a chance to experience a study abroad as an adult!

I joined the Spanish in Medellín chapter and had a great time! Our chapter host Chloe was attentive and made sure everyone had what they needed and that everyone was enjoying themselves. Our local host Carolina was very open about her experiences growing up in Colombia and was great at helping us get to know Medellín. Our Spanish instructor Giovanni helped us practice and improve our Spanish from every level and he was so much fun to have classes with. There were so many wonderful included and optional tours, experiences that you might not have access to on your own, restaurants with amazing food and views, fast and reliable internet, and plenty of non-scheduled time to explore Medellín and other parts of Colombia. I highly recommend this trip.

The SOJRN Wine in Tuscany chapter is such an incredible opportunity to experience the Italian and Sienese culture while meeting new friends, learning about wine and working remotely. SOJRN takes care of the details and provides options for activities, yet gives you the freedom to explore and enjoy daily life for a month in Siena. The local host Georgia was a wealth of knowledge and was there to assist whenever needed. Our leader (and owner of SOJRN), Tara took such amazing care of us all. I had doubts about traveling during the pandemic, but this trip exceeded all of my expectations and I have memories and new friendships I will cherish forever.

With the remote work revolution taken hold, Sojrn has perfected its niche business of Modern Study Abroad for Adults by providing working professionals a unique and amazing “change of scenery” from the usual daily grind.
Discovering Sojrn was truly life-changing. The team is responsive and goes over and beyond every time; the theme and curriculum is thoughtful and executed flawlessly; all the while you meet forever friends while soaking up the different culture, food, drink, language, art, architecture, and landscape. At the end, you wonder where the month went and you walk away with an elevated perspective of the world and find an appreciation you didn’t know existed. Trust me, you’ll want to Sojrn again and again and again.

I participated in the Athens Sojrn program and loved it! There’s no better way to work remotely, make new friends and take in all the culture of your location. McKayla was an awesome social host and Chara added an authentic Greek perspective to all of our activities. If you work remotely, you have got to give this a try!

I thoroughly enjoyed learning about fashion in Paris. The outings were super informative and well planned, and there was a nice balance between planned activities and free time. I really appreciated the chapter and local hosts' knowledge and their willingness to share expertise, ideas, and helpful information. They were always available and helpful, but never intrusive. Chaptermates were a fabulous mix of curious, intelligent learners from many walks of life. The ability to simply explore and live in Paris for a month was an unforgettable experience. Perfect blend of independent travel while still being part of a really great group.

I went on the Sojrn in Bali, Indonesia & had a great time. It was the first ever Sojrn in Bali so it wasn’t without hiccups, but they were all handled quickly & efficiently. The theme & events were well thought out. Everything complimented each other & you had a deeper understanding of the subject matter by the end of the Sojrn. My only complaint is that there was to much to see & do!
Our chapter host Mandy was incredible! She was so thoughtful & caring. She brought a wealth of experience & dedication to the position. I 100% would take another trip with her as the host.
Overall it was a great experience.

I just completed the Bali chapter. I would say this was a bit more adventure focused than mental wellness as the theme indicated, but it was an amazing experience nevertheless. What a wonderful opportunity to immerse oneself in the local culture!
Our chapter host, Mandy, went above and beyond to answer questions, be sure our needs were met, and to be an all around positive guide for our experience. Priscilla was also a joy! Our local host, Andrea, gave excellent recommendations and was a helpful resource overall.
I opted to not work during my chapter. While Sojrn is designed to accommodate travelers’ work schedules during their chapters, I would recommend not working or working a reduced schedule to give yourself plenty of time to participate in the included and optional activities or just explore on your own.

In the past few years, I’ve developed an interest in working remote while traveling. When I found out about Sojrn, I knew this was the perfect opportunity to do so, while also getting the chance to meet other travelers and experience new cultures! I participated in the History in Rome Chapter this past April and it was an amazing chapter to start with! We stayed in a beautiful neighborhood called Monti which is a 10 minute walk from the Colosseum. It was so surreal walking the city and seeing all the historical sites. Our hosts Silvia and Golie were the dream team! Silvia is incredibly knowledgeable about Rome, and also loves sharing her home with others. Both of our hosts were so fun and positive, but also quick to respond to any questions or issues that came up. Traveling internationally can sometimes cause anxiety, but having hosts available really helped me feel more comfortable. I also love the community aspect of Sojrn. I always had someone to go grab a meal or coffee with and we all became so close, so quickly. Most of the time while traveling you only meet people briefly, but spending 4 weeks together in this setting really helps create amazing bonds. I am still in touch with this group to this day and we are planning meet ups! But beware, once you experience this, you will want to keep traveling! :) Can’t wait to do more Sojrns!

I recently returned from the Mental Wellness Chapter in Bali, and I can’t imagine having done it without Sojrn. We got to participate in some truly amazing cultural experiences that I’m sure we would have missed if we had planned the trip ourselves. Having our local host, Andrea, to welcome us to her home country and answer the many questions we had made the whole experience so much richer. We also felt incredibly supported by our chapter host, Mandy. I won’t lie—we faced a number of challenges throughout the month, but I knew from the very beginning that Mandy had our backs and that she was there to help us through the challenges to come out stronger on the other side. Traveling with Sojrn allowed us to find something that we have had trouble finding in our own travels: a community of likeminded people who made our month unforgettable. For that, I am truly grateful.

Just finished a Sojrn in Rome learning history. Our local host and guide, Silvia, made the experience come alive. Her passion and knowledge transformed the ruins around us and we could visualize what ancient Rome was like in all her glory. But also for me the Sojrn experience became surprisingly personal. I am second generation Italian-American but much of my family’s history has been lost. Being immersed in Rome for a month was like returning …. home. And my Sojrn group – felt like my new Italian family! A Sojrn takes you out of what you know and into what you will discover – new and anew.

I just returned from the Art & Architecture in Barcelona Sojrn and I honestly had the best month of my life! Everyone was so nice and accommodating, and I was blown away by how many activities Sojrn arranged. Priscila was an outstanding chapter host! She was always available to go explore or if you needed help organizing something. She was such a ray of sunshine and positive energy and I would definitely do a Sojrn with her again! Oscar was an outstanding local host! He was so knowledgeable about the city and its architecture, and made us feel welcome and right at home! Sojrn made it so easy to work remotely but also explore a new city. I highly recommend Sojrn to anyone wanting to spend a month living abroad!

My Athens Sojrn experience exceeded every expectation. I have done other remote work/travel programs, however, Sojrn is on another level. The small group size created the perfect atmosphere to not only experience the city but also connect with one another, I now consider my fellow Sojrn members and our local host (Chara) and chapter host (Pete) as trusted friends. What Sojrn gets right (and many other remote programs get wrong) is the accommodations and included activities, they were top-level. Highly recommend.

I had the most incredible experience with the Spanish in Medellin Sojrn chapter. Sojrn provided so many recommendations and tips, and I felt like every detail was taken care of. I was also impressed with how much was included (so many great activities on top of apartment and coworking) for the price. The planned and recommended activities made sure our experience was the perfect blend of can’t miss tourist sites plus living like a local. We also had the most incredible hosts, Chloe and Carolina, who made sure that we were engaged, got the most out of our experience, and were cared for. They made sure that Medellin felt like home for the month that we were there. You will have an amazing experience on any chapter hosted by Chloe and Carolina because of how great they are!

I just returned from Sojrn's Wines of Tuscany chapter and can't recommend it more. The program was perfectly curated with educational and fun experiences, and the accommodations were comfortable and well located, but most important were the people. Our chapter host Charlotte helped us all to feel comfortable and included. She was always available for a meal or to visit an attraction or problem solve the occasional lock out or other chapter member need while organizing social events for us to get to know each other better. She made it all seamless. Giorgia was our local host and taught us so much about wine and wine-making, creating a curriculum that ensured we gained a broad understanding of Tuscany's wonderful wines. She was also seemingly always available to help with any needs that required local knowledge. The entire program gets a big thumbs up from me!

Ever since I spent a semester abroad in college, I’ve been chasing the feeling of a truly authentic cultural immersion. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world searching for those experiences. Although I’ve gotten a taste of that feeling on my journeys, my Sojrn Mental Wellness Chapter in Bali is the only experience that has come close to replicating those feelings of being deeply immersed into a new culture.
The locals were wonderful! The activities were well thought out, providing us with an opportunity to learn about mental wellness and balance in life through teachings of the locals. We were fortunate enough to have an amazing local host, Andrea, to guide us through the Balinese culture and answer any questions we had. We were the first group to attend the Bali Mental Wellness chapter and although there were some hiccups that come from a first run, the program was incredibly valuable and curated in a thoughtful way.
The support from Sojrn was incredible and I was very impressed with the customer service and sense of urgency to resolve any issue that may have popped up. This program was made immensely better because of our Chapter Host, Mandy Holland! Mandy possesses all the important professional skills required to be a chapter host (even some bonus skills like being a yoga teacher, a rock climber, and a scuba diving instructor). But where Mandy really excels is her genuine caring nature and her focus on making sure the guest experience was top notch. There’s no doubt about it, Mandy was an essential part of making my experience as incredible as it was.
These are big trips that take a lot of courage, but you can rest assured that Sojrn is there to make your experience one you won’t forget.

A month I will never forget. Sojrn created the perfect environment for my Tuscan Wine journey, making it fun, educational and oh yeah, multi sensory!!!!!!! For me it was the perfect combination of work and play, and will provide me with inspiration for a long time. Our chapter Host Charlotte and local host Giorgia, along with a variety of fantastic wine & food specialists (truffles! Olive oil!) made up an unbeatable team of experts - all of whom I now call friends.

I went on the Paris Sojrn in September and had a really great time. For me, it was the perfect balance of planned group activities and time on my own. We had a fabulous group of ten ladies and two spectacular hosts, Esther and Theresa. I did work remotely while I was there and appreciated the offsite work location that was provided. It was much better than working in my room for 8 hours.
Theresa’s fashion themed outings were all very interesting and enjoyable along with the many ‘flanerie’s’ by Esther to explore different areas of the city. We learned so much from them and saw so many great parts of Paris. It would have been helpful to have the itinerary and more specific details prior to the trip. Not knowing made it hard to plan ahead, but it still worked out OK.
The Aparthotel accommodations provided were clean, safe, and I liked the location. There was an adequate kitchenette, but lacked a sitting area. For a month long stay, I can say that I would have liked to have a little space to relax other than a bed and desk chair.
Overall, the experience was great and I would recommend the Paris trip. This is a unique opportunity and one you won’t regret. I wish I could have stayed another month and hope to go on another Sojrn trip in the future!

Mental Wellness Chapter in Bali
This chapter in Bali had pretty well-chosen activities of cultural, physical, mental and spiritual natures that were both included activities and optional ones – the dance performances, the water purification we had at an ancient temple, the rice terraces, batik-making, waterfall visits, yoga, a meeting with a spiritual healer, and much more - they made for a real Bali experience.
Our quarters at Outpost Co-living were lovely. The staff was professional but so friendly, attentive, so accommodating – lovely, lovely people, all. I loved the Balinese architecture and the garden setting so much. An occasional problem with water flow to the rooms was quickly resolved. That kind of thing can happen and is acceptable to me in a setting like Ubud, Bali - not a huge deal. I also enjoyed the next-door restaurant/café, “Current – Social Club and Kitchen” – the food, the music, the lovely staff there, professional but so friendly also. Lovely service there as well. I will miss all those lovely people who work at Outpost and Current!
Our chapter host Mandy was so completely key in making this trip the great trip it was, due in part, to her cheerful, positive, upbeat, enthusiastic, encouraging, fun-loving, adventure-loving, good-hearted, caring self, present in our activities, at meals, out and about or at the Outpost property. She was very available to us, attentive, and she professionally and lovingly guided and directed us for the best outcome in our endeavors and provided plenty of extras as well. As an example – my travel companions were my three sisters. Three of the four of us are a bit older and we can sometimes be a bit technologically challenged. Mandy sat with us and went over a calendar she’d made for us of our RSVPs of activities and gave a copy to each of us to aid the four of us in knowing what each was doing on a given day. What a help! Additionally, myself and one of my sisters fell ill and Mandy gave us each flowers and a card signed by our fellow travelers to cheer us. We so appreciated the thoughtfulness and caring. Mandy is a well-traveled individual, has been a scuba instructor, is a yoga instructor extraordinaire and is a hiker and climber. All of her personal goodness and personal and professional experiences and her personal beliefs and practices made her the perfect hostess for this mental wellness chapter. Big kudos to her also, taking on and being so instrumental in executing such a successful first-time Bali chapter without the benefit of any Bali chapter history to go on! I so admire her courage and the job she did.
Our local host Andrea was also so completely key in making this the great trip it was. She had such an important role being a native Indonesian who speaks the language and English as well and knows the lay of the land being a Bali resident herself. Andrea was so very key in making things go smoothly for us. Also, so cheerful, positive, upbeat, enthusiastic, encouraging, fun-loving, adventure-loving, good-hearted, and caring. My sister and I so appreciated Andrea helping us with our illness and accompanying both of us to the health center on our separate occasions. And a special shout out to her for orchestrating our wonderful western-style catered Thanksgiving – AKA, Friendsgiving – dinner. It was perfect and completely delicious!
And Priscila from the Operations side of Sojrn - when she accompanied us she was a pleasure to be with just like Mandy and Andrea. Also, a bright Sorjrn light for us - cheerful, positive, upbeat, enthusiastic, encouraging, fun-loving, adventure-loving, good-hearted, and caring.
My 4 stars vs 5 would be due to some tweaking that could be done for this chapter. Perhaps review and change some of the activities - delete and replace a couple, search for new, worthy, activities, etc. It would be only natural that tweaking would be in order given this was the first Bali chapter. Things have been learned regarding what will work best going forward and I have complete faith Sojrn will tweak successfully!
Samantha
I participated in the first Bali Sojrn chapter and there were quite a few hiccups. All of the scheduling changes/issues with the events and whatnot aside, the soul reason for the four star review is for our chapter host (Mandy) and our local host (Andrea). It’s not often a virtual stranger will offer to give you a massage to help ease your leg seizing up! Mandy was SO amazing throughout the entire trip, I even got a tattoo that will help me remember her for years to come. Andrea was key in helping us to find/travel to/orchestrate any whim we had. She’s even offered to run a couple errands for me after the trip ended!! These ladies are behind the majority of the positive memories I have from this trip and I will cherish them forever.

Sojrn Bali -
I was one of a group of about 20, who had signed up for a month-long stay in Ubud for Sojrn’s inaugural trip to Bali. We were a diverse group of travellers in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. Some were self-employed, remote workers, retirees, and others were on a month-long vacation or break from work. Despite our differences, what we all shared was a desire to travel and share new experiences. We began as strangers and left as friends!
Being Sojrn’s first trip to Bali, there were definitely some challenges and disappointments during our month long stay in Ubud. During the first week, a few members of the group tested positive for Covid and had to quarantine. That was when Mandy, our chapter host, really shined. She impressed us with how well she handled all of the difficult situations we faced, always keeping us well-informed, while prioritising our health and safety and co-ordinating all of our planned events and excursions.
Most of us would agree that we faced some level of disappointment or discomfort during our stay. But I think we took away a new perspective and sense of gratitude for our lives back home. While living in a developing country for a month, basic necessities like water and electricity are not always a guarantee. We certainly had some frustrating moments when we turned on the tap and there was no water to take a shower or wash our hands, but we were always surrounded by smiling faces who were ready to assist us. We all had to learn lessons in patience and gratitude. Looking back, those brief moments of discomfort hardly seem to matter. Despite any illnesses, injuries, setbacks or disappointments any of us may have experienced, I am sure most of us took away a greater sense of knowing that we have a lot to be grateful for.
The people of Bali opened their homes and hearts to us during our time there and for that I will always be grateful. The staff at Current - Social Club and Kitchen and Outpost Ubud Coliving Suites greeted us every day with warm smiles and exceptional service. Current’s waitstaff were so attentive to our needs, even learning each of our names and wishing us well as we departed on our final day. Outpost definitely had their hands full with us! But they were always ready to assist with anything we needed and it was comforting to know they were just a Whats app message away. All of our tour guides, drivers and hosts were amazing. I wish I could name everyone who made our stay so special but the list would be too long.
Lastly, I have to give big thank you to my girl, Mandy, our chapter host, who I can proudly call my friend and sister. Mandy, an avid traveler, skilled yoga and diving instructor brought so much of her skillset, professional and life experiences to our Sojrn. There is no doubt that without her, our time in Bali would not have been the same. She was our captain who was at the helm of the ship during the storm. When some of us had to face our anxieties, fears and discomfort she was there to talk us through it and help us overcome them. While always remaining positive, she made the most out of every situation. She expertly guided some of us through new experiences like yoga and snorkelling. Her warmth, kindness, thoughtfulness and enthusiasm are contagious. Mandy, the queen of handwritten cards, would hand deliver a bouquet of flowers with a card to anyone who was sick. At the end of our Sojrn, Mandy wrote a personal note to each of us, which I am sure we will all cherish as much as our time with her in Bali.

My review comes a bit late, but better late than never! I participated in the History in Rome chapter in 2022, but unfortunately was not able to complete the chapter as I had an unforeseen medical emergency, was hospitalized in Rome, and then had to cut my trip short. Boo!
I was only able to participate in a fraction of the activities, much to my disappointment, but they certainly looked like a blast! I want to thank the team at Sojrn for being so incredibly helpful while I was in the hospital and afterwards (while dealing with the needs of the travel insurance company). The two hosts, Rachel & Silvia went above and beyond what anyone would expect from them!!! They coordinated a doctor's visit, visited me in the hospital, and brought me stuff I needed while I was there.
I will never forget your kindness Rachel & Silvia! Thank you to Makayla and Tara for your help and support as well. Continue to hire great people!

I did the Fashion Program in Paris and it was a dream come true. I had several life changes that happened in the summer so last minute decided to take the leap and do this program and I have no regrets. The only thing that I would say is that I just wish there was more fashion activities, like hands on, learning even how to design even and also the schedule, it seemed to change a bit so wish that we as a bit more structured. Both hosts Esther and Theresa were nothing short of amazing, Esther was fantastic at helping us navigate Paris, so much so that I’m actually planning on moving there. Theresa was also so knowledgeable in everything she taught us and got a long super well with her. I’m glad to know I could send them a message whenever and catch up. Thank you for the amazing opportunity!

This was an amazing experience. I spent a month in Paris with Sojrn (Esther + Teresa). The history, the architecture, the fashion, the culture, the food….it was life changing and Esther took great care of us.

Sojrn Bali
I just returned from the first ever month long Sojrn chapter in Bali. It was amazing and life changing! After spending a previous month long stay with a travel friend in a different country a few years back and making most of our own arrangements, I am now thoroughly convinced this is the most wonderful way to do cultural immersion travel. And Sojrn knows how to do it well. Yes, there were problems in Bali, but they were dealt with as quickly as the repair professionals could get there. I've spent all of my travel time in the last 25 years only visiting developing countries and I can tell you that I encountered far worse and much more frequent issues with water and power outages than the time in Bali. I've come to expect the possibility of it and just try to prepare for it.
Besides the OutPost staff helping us with room issues the manager, Ragu, was personally very helpful to me when I asked to borrow some pool towels for an hour long laying down yoga nidra guided meditation session I facilitated. A whole stack of towels was soon waiting for me to provide extra cushion comfort to my students!
The Current restaurant staff, with a shoutout to Agun, the manager, were always greeting us with big smiles and they really did learn all our names. They also helped with dietary preferences and even remembered that I liked to mix different flavored juices together. It's these little thoughtful things that count big time in my opinion.
There were no lack of included and optional activities and events to choose from. Even before leaving my home I had signed up for 24 of them and as more were added I signed up again and again! They were all so varied and interesting I couldn't resist. I was happily exhausted by the end of our time in Bali.
Mandy, our chapter host, was behind the organizing of these fun experiences. I really loved them all. She also held powerful yoga classes for us a bunch of times. Two of my goals in Bali were to reestablish my daily yoga and meditation practices and Mandy was instrumental in moving me in that direction. She was the one who also encouraged me to plan and hold the yoga nidra session for my fellow chapter mates. She also made space for 2 others in our chapter to share their expertise as well. Mandy spurred us on to share ourselves with each other and take some chances and try new things. She was so great as our chapter host. I could not fathom having anyone else in this role. She was the whole package delivering herself to us unconditionally. I miss seeing her smiling face on a daily basis. It feels like I gained another sister and I already have the 3 other sisters that I just spent a month in Bali with!
I have to include Andrea, our local host, in all these kudos, as well. She was vital to navigating a lot of our transportation needs. And I don't know what we would have done without her translation help. She was especially helpful when some of us became ill and needed her to do translation with the doctors. I enjoyed hearing her Bali culture tidbits of info and answered our many culture related questions too.
Priscilla, from Operations, was also fun to have around. She helped plan some of the special events we enjoyed, with a great sense of flair. She has a colorful personality and actually wore very colorful outfits to match it! I loved seeing her in them.
Do go on the Bali Sojrn. You will have the time of your life!

THANK YOU to Sojrn. I just finished History in Rome. It was an amazing experience. It went by so quickly and I had so much fun I question whether I dreamed the entire thing. I hope you keep adding new locations, I would do this again. Great reminder that we can work to live and not live to work. And that taking a few weeks and putting our normal lives on hold is totally possible and not going to blow up the world. Wonderful program put on by wonderful people.

Just returned from my second Sojrn in Mexico City and had an amazing time! Makayla, Nico, and her team were so organized and handled every problem big or small with ease. Our local host Nico was so knowledgable about Mexican cuisine and you could tell he was very passionate about the culinary experience everyone had on the trip. Everything about this experience was so meticulously thought out from the location to the apartments, weekly activities, and optional weekend trips. I would absolutely go another Sojrn with Makayla and would recommend this trip to anyone.

Recently returned from the Wine in Tuscany Program, and I had a fabulous time! The activities were interesting, and I learned so much about wine! My accommodation was stellar and really gave the opportunity to experience the town of Siena. My fellow travelers were a lot of fun to be with, and our chapter leader Kandace was the key to the whole experience — she made sure the group had an amazing experience and was always available to us for anything we needed. I cannot recommend this program highly enough.

I participated in the Medellín “Spanish in Colombia” chapter. We had a fantastic Sojrn host, Makayla, and local host, Juan Manuel. I loved the cultural exchanges, Spanish lessons, group trips and the food! It was wonderful meeting so many people who wanted to explore the wonderful city of Medellín just like me. A special recognition goes out to Makayla who always made sure everyone was comfortable, included and having a good time. She has the perfect personality and energy for her role! I’d recommend for anyone wanting to make the most of travel while doing so safely.

Just returned from the May "Wine Varietals of Tuscany" Chapter, which was delightful throughout. Kandace, our Chapter host, makes a challenging assignment look easy and is fabulous company. The mix of activities was just right, and allowed for separate personal interests. Our apartment was perfectly placed and very comfortable. Chapter members are planning an October reunion, and I look forward to exploring another Chapter in the future.

The travel concept of living and working remotely in another country for a month is the epitome of taking something terrible like COVID and turning it into a million dollar idea. You will never live abroad for a month and regret it. If you have the flexibility to travel somewhere for a month, you should absolutely do it....and look no further than Sojrn to help you make it happen!

The Wine in Tuscany Sojrn experience was so amazing! Everything about it was extremely well organized, with just the right balance of learning, work, and fun! CEO, Tara Cappel & team couldn't be more professional, wonderful people! They take care of things you don't want to like housing (our apartment was perfectly located, clean, great little kitchen and a view we will never forget), help with COVID protocols, use of MightyNetworks app to provide daily info, coworking space, and answers to any questions you have. Our local hosts Giorgia and Daniele were the BEST! They knew everything there was to know about Siena and helped us feel at home right away; but their ability to teach us about everything Tuscan wine was their real passion. Our weekly sessions at the Tuscan Wine School were casual but informative. The weekly Happy Hours gave us a chance to have fun with the group and try out what we learned! Included vineyard visits and winery tours gave us a chance to meet the families that work so hard at the craft they love. Their passion was inspiring. If you have ever wanted an immersive, slower, more intentional opportunity to travel but "live somewhere," this is the experience for you! Do it now! It's life changing!!

I did a month-long Sojrn in Athens, Greece! I didn't really know what to expect, especially since I hadn't traveled a lot internationally before, but I was impressed by the marketing, organization, and detail of the program, so I decided to try it out.
The month I spent in Greece was one of the best of my life! I met people from all over and we became instant friends as we worked together, traveled together, and looked out for each other. We even took some side trips to nearby Greek islands.
There was an incredible on-site host (Chara) based in Athens and she is truly the best guide you could ask for! Chara showed us around Athens and was essentially on call day and night. Whether you were trying to navigate the Greek appliances, locate a specialty store nearby, or get a recommendation for a hair salon, she was always eager to help.
I highly recommend the program and staff! Such a great alternative to working remotely solo. Only 3 months later and I have already booked my next Sojrn!

I just got back from the Tuscany trip and I must say it was more than I expected. The wine education was stellar, and visiting the wineries was as historic as it was educational. I enjoyed the add on cooking classes and the side trip to Cinque Terre. It was nice to have the freedom to make the trip my own while still joining the group weekly to catch up on their adventures as well. I met some wonderful people and felt like I really got to immerse myself in Siena.

I have done Sojrn twice, I got to meet really nice people, locals and other visitors that I feel will make a friendship that will last a lifetime. I learned a lot about Ancient Rome during when we did History in Rome and saw so many historic sites for Philosophy in Athens. Highly recommend it:)

An absolutely wonderful experience and company to travel with! This was one of the best travel experiences I have ever had and I thoroughly enjoyed each moment that I was able to be immersed into the local community. As someone who has lived my entire life in the US and never studied abroad in university, I think that this was exactly perfect for me to explore and meet a new community. There was no interruption to my normal day to day other than moving to another country for a bit. I would highly recommend the experience to anyone who is able to make it fit around their work schedules and is open to an adventure. There were weekly activities to join with the larger group, but you were also completely free to make the experience your own which I absolutely loved.

Really enjoyed my experience with the company. Made for an easy and enjoyable month abroad

I had the best time on the Medellin chapter with Sojrn. This is definitely the bespoke digital nomad experience: all of our activities felt hand-curated and vetted, we had an incredible local host Carolina who went above and beyond to ensure we experienced Medellin in exactly the right way and understood all the context of the place, and a chapter host Chloe who was super attentive to any and all needs of the group. All of my fellow travelers were great, too, I felt like we all got along so well immediately. The only thing is I’d urge caution in booking this trip if you don’t have a very flexible work schedule since all of the planned activities were on weekday mornings and evenings.
