Reviews of Maryland House Travel Plaza
This location is pretty good with plenty of space for the customers. Restrooms are okay so far. Cleanliness is acceptable. However, stores are struggling with less manpower and long waiting line of customers. It took almost an hour to serve my order at Wendy’s. Staff are friendly and helpful and long waiting is not at all their fault! I hope the owners will look into it.
it was, clean, well lit, and busy. I didn't have to wait for a stall in the bathroom. There are plenty of food choices. There are massage chairs, though I didn't check to see if they were working or well-maintained. Also, there's plenty of parking. Overall a good stop to relieve, replenish and have a good stretch.
Large clean rest area. Gas station behind. Bathroom, Food, Drink/Coffee, Lotto, Souvenir, Maps and plenty of seating.
Friendly helpful staff. Especially Bob! Gave us a recommendation on a delicious restaurant nearby!
3 penny press and 1 token machine.
I really stopped for Jerry's Cheesecake but it was closed. Then I spotted the seafood place...it was closed. Then I went for sandwich from the local kiosk...no joy. So I opted for an Auntie Anne's pretzel. My only question - how can a pretzel be burned and wet doughy at the same time 🤷🏽♀️. Purchased some lotto tickets and won $75 so I'm ok 🤣. And I'm happy this is a left exit easy on - easy off rest stop.
September 20, 2022- Nice rest area worth food options and a large bathroom with plenty of stalls. Handicap accessible parking and restrooms.
Really really busy, many many different options of stores, including a Dunkin’, Phillips seafood, Rito‘s Xpress, Nathan’s deli, Jerry’s cheesesteaks, and Annie’s pretzels, Carvel ice cream. Place looks like it is regularly cleaned. Very large bathrooms. The long lines by all the stores.
Nice clean place a few restaurants to get a decent meal while traveling on that road trip. While there sit in the massage chairs before getting back on the road and service dogs are welcome other than that pets are not allowed inside.
Multiple vendors are located in this easy-to-access I-95 rest stop. The only problem is that not all of them are open yet. The lines are a bit long, but the staff are quick and efficient.
Really cool one worth the stop, clean large bathrooms, enough truck & car parking, good selection food court, small but really complete convenience store truck diesel and car gasoline
Came in the morning, both Dunkin and one of the markets was open. Bathrooms were clean and there’s a nice little outdoor seating area with tree cover where we walked the dog.
This place is big , clean , they have wendy’s , dunkin’ donuts , Auntie Anne’s , Nathan’s, sea food and Pizza .
There is space to sit inside and eat .
Big space for parking
Vending machine
Small market
Spacious, bathroom well kept. Various fast food available.
The bathroom sinks require you to hold the handle down in order for water to come out. It's a bit gross since you're then constantly touching a dirty faucet handle.
Great place to stop. Bathrooms were clean, large, well-lit, and easy to access. There is a water fountain to refill your water bottles for free. Plenty of food choices inside, although by the evening most are closed and the few that are open have extremely long lines. Didn’t get gas or buy anything so my rating only factors in the free services.
Another great rest stop area if you’re traveling north on I-95 through Maryland. Nice selection of fast food retailers inside. Nathan’s, Aunty Anne’s, Wendy’s, carval, Phillips seafood, Dunkin’ Donuts and Jerry’s. A small convenience store with some souvenirs and nibbles , like cheese, pepperoni, chocolate and drinks is located on the north side. Women’s bathroom was pretty immaculate. Smelled clean and stocked well with TP 😊 Nice big food court orders o sit down in. Petrol station is behind building on the North side. The only thing I didn’t notice was a pet friendly area. Other than that….this is a rest stop to drop a pin on.
This is a great place to stop while traveling I-95. There's many vendors inside to get food, bathrooms are clean and sitting area ample. They could light parking lot more though. I would recommend stopping there.
Usually very clean. Depending on the time of the year there are a lot of people. There’s a Wendy’s, Aunt Annie’s (opens at 12:30) Dunkin’ Donuts, pizza, Nathan‘s, and the convenient store.Sunoco gas-average price
I always stop here when traveling. Only thing I dislike is the restaurants inside are not 24hrs. Only the little corner store in there is. At least one place to get some hot food should stay open. Maryland house is so popular and busy. I think that would be great
It’s a well-maintained service area by 1-95 with picnic tables outside. No pets allowed in the building.
I give this place a five star because the previous rest stop along the way to our destination, the rest room smelled like an alley. The rest rooms here were clean. And you can tell that they get cleaned frequently throughout the day. Good job.
Very nice facility with modern upgrades. Restrooms were partially shut down on New Year's Day and the lines were very long. They finally opened up more of the area but should have been prepared for high traffic.
Clean bathrooms, charging stations, clean tables, massage chairs for comfort, plenty of gas pumps, food vendors but so limited with long lines and short hours. If you're looking for food 24/7, good luck. What's open is open! I had a problem finding food before 9 am and after 5 pm, called banking hours.
Great stop for gas and restroom however the food options were limited (MLK Holiday) and while we understand the order kiosk we are not fans as we still had to talk to the workers because what was listed on the screen was not in supply. And the prices are too high (shame on them) for regular fast food offerings but I remember it is a price point for travel like in an airport. It doesn't excuse it though...
Clean bathrooms nice place to stop. Food is very expensive. A hot dog is $8 without sauerkraut an extra dollar. But a good place to stop and walk around and use the restrooms
Always clean. It has shops to pick from to eat. Everything is not open early in the morning
The only problem is that the ladies bathroom is a long way from the entrance going North.
Very good place . Lots of good restaurants and coffee shops inside . I guess they renovated and it looks great now . Dunkin , Wendy’s, curriro, nathans, and many other shops . Really good. It’s just crowded on weekends and takes a while. They follow covid guidelines and protocols .. good stop on our way to Washington or Virginia !
I stopped by Dunkin' Donuts for a quick breakfast, and let's just say it was... memorable. The sausage, egg, and cheese wraps tasted like they had been cleaned with counter cleaner, and the coffee had a ton of undissolved sugar at the bottom, which was basically like chugging a cup of sand. But hey, at least I got to stand in line for 20 minutes to get my subpar breakfast! In all seriousness though, the bagel bites were actually pretty decent, so if you're feeling brave and want to risk it all for a decent breakfast, go for those. But if you'd rather not chew on your coffee or test the limits of your taste buds, I'd recommend finding a different breakfast spot unless you don't mind the possibility of a questionable tortilla.
We stop here when we travel to King of Prussia. There are not enough food selections and they seem to be short staffed. Restrooms are clean and well kept.
Update 3/5/21 - The bathrooms could still be a bit cleaner but they weren't bad by any means just maybe need to add a few more employee walk throughs for little random things.
Good amount of food and drink options but nothing for Vegans or GF.
Tons of parking
A good place to stop and eat while on the road. The massage chairs are great! Expensive but it's a rest area. You pay for convenience.
This is a nice rest area. Alot of people. One of the staff in Duncan donuts had anger issues or something. Super disrespectful. I really wanted to punch on her a few times, but other than that, the rest area is very nice.
Good service area, restrooms are huge and well maintained and organized.
This establishment, Maryland House Travel Plaza at I-95, Aberdeen, Maryland 21001, has its advantages and disadvantages based on my personal experience after visiting it.
Advantages:
- Super bright and beautiful.
- Super clean inside.
- Many options of food snacks.
- Customer service and travel information are helpful.
- Super large parking and restroom.
- Gas station is convenient.
Disadvantages:
- n/a
Would I recommend this place?
100%
Would I come back in the near future?
For sure.
Decent rest stop, but their Dunkin Donuts has gone high tech and the tech don't work. Good thing there are real people there who can step in and take orders and make coffee. Sheesh.
Not as nice as it used to be before. This used to be our first stop on our way South. Now we're going to have to rethink this. Check out some new areas. Especially if you're looking for a good cup of coffee.
Keep going!!
We stopped for a bathroom break and got a quick bite but were surprised to discover that two of the places were closed, and it was still pretty early. One of those places was Dunkin Donuts. At least the bathrooms were clean.
Over priced for everything. Gas is about thirty cents more than NY where else. Service is slow and they can't get orders right. If you don't have to stop dont. Just use the bathrooms and go
They had a functional gas station and functional rest rooms. Dunkin donuts didn't open until 730 and several restaurants were permanently closed. Will not return unless absolutely necessary.
Very nice place to take a break. Several nice places to get something to eat like Wendy's, Nathan's Hotdogs, and Aunt Annie's Pretzles. Good information on attractions in the area. The whole area is clean and well ordered. There are massage chairs too. What more could you ask for. Stopped by to do some geocaching.
This is one of the best rest area on route. Very clean and good option for quick bites. Sometimes there will be waiting for coffee. Every time the experience is good inside. Some people throw trash in parking areas and would be best if some trash bins are kept around parking areas.
Awesome place to stop and rest eat enjoy
Still one of my least favorite rest stops along the way home. While fuel lines are manageable, the restrooms in the SUNOCO need a-lot of attention and the lines for truck diesel at the counter are often very long and slow.
Very nice building, bathrooms are really clean. Went on a Saturday at 7:45pm and everything but Wendy's and Nathan's was closed which was disappointing.
We LOVE the Maryland House!!😍😍 Every year when we go to Maryland we look forward to the stop to eat, buy snacks and use the restrooms. It’s always very clean, lots of food choices and the foods are always hot and fresh. We mostly eat from Phillips Seafood!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 …
Massive travel plaza, one of two along I-95 in Maryland, the other being Chesapeake House. Got everything you need. Looks like it was renovated recently. Not sure if that's the sleep deprivation talking or not, but it looked really nice when we were there at 6 in the morning or who knows when. It was worth the all-night drive to beat the snowstorm in Virginia, and boy did that pay off! It's a bit of a maze to get through in spots, so be mindful.
Felt like costly place. Very big queue in the Dunkin Donuts. Restroom and Gas station available. Go if badly need rest else look for some other place. Cleanness is good.
Well ventilated and brightly lit. Has an entire gaggle of restaurants and shops. Fuel and parking are abundant for all sizes of vehicles. This place is priced for it's convenience though, so don't expect bargain prices. Recommended if you can't finagle a route including other viable options near the I-95.
The Maryland House is usually a nice stop to get a fresh cup of coffee or take a long awaited nap in your car, RV or van on your trip to your special somewhere. This place & places like this provide a much needed pit stop for a weary traveler & their families. Cheers!
7:39 on a Friday night and most of the food vendors were closed! The bathrooms were clean, and they do have a few smashed penny machines.
If I'm on I-95 in Maryland, I will Always stop here. It's clean and well maintained. Decent selection of food and snacks. Exit and enter from the left lane of 95, so be forewarned.
It was extremely clean. I love the modern interior. There was a variety of food choices. I ate at Phillips crab, a bit pricey but delicious. My son enjoyed Wendy's...
Always a great place to stop! The massage chair was great for my 88 year old father,
Very large and well lit so you feel safe even in the early morning hours. Offered large restrooms that were neat and clean.
Great rest stop and a place to walk your dog. Well lit parking area. Safe to sleep overnight at. They are adding Tesla Car charging stations here. Different food options in a food court atmosphere also gas station with convenience store.
Bathrooms were clean. Wendy's and dd only places open on day after Christmas, expect long lines.
Regular stop for me. Very clean and available food. Late night , early morning. Limiter to convince store but still good
Love this rest stop when traveling 95! Dunkin used to be open 24 hours! Not last trip. Bummer.
Not big on using public bathrooms but this rest stop is very clean even got the liners for the toilet different places to eat and relax so you can continue your road trip
This place/service area is 5 Star.
Food Court, wide range of tastes, So Clean, Fantastic staff at each area, much to offer. In some 3500 miles, THIS place is tops, #1.
This is our place to take a break when we travel south and back. I find it convenient, full of popular food spots, clean facilities, and easy entry and exit.
I stopped here on my way driving back home to New York after a stay in Virginia and this was just what I needed. Bathrooms, food, gas and rest. It wasn’t too crowded and plenty of parking. If you need to stop this is a good place to stop.
I have felt comfortable every time I can come, you have restaurant choices as well as the service is clean in this place, easy parking
We always stop here from NJ to Virginia. It's just a quick stop to use the restroom. It's always very clean and staff is friendly.
A great resting place during the road trip! They also have massage chairs to relax your tired body.
The women at Wendy’s are super busy but the floor seems to be rather greasy!
Accident waiting to happen!!
Restrooms were not very clean, the main area was nice with plenty of choices. Did not eat though, just a bathroom break
If you have to stop at a rest area on 95 this is one of the best ones you’ll stop at a greatVariety of restaurants a little convenience store the bathrooms are super clean the tenants are very courteous and willing to help it’s just a great experience for a rest stop please give me a thumbs up if you agree
Nothing is what it use to be. The only thing opened was the store in the corner. It had ridiculous prices. Traveling in the wee hours of the morning to beat traffic is good but you need to pack some snacks.
Great service area. Love that there’s clean restrooms, some good to go food, and couple little shops here. Love the easy on/off freeway access and the gas stations right there as well. Makes east coast road trips easy and nice! Reminds me of a nice airport terminal!
Loved the multiple EV charging stations and pleasantly surprised by the redesigned and aesthetically pleasing building. Too bad the food options were way over priced and for 3p, mobbed. The bathrooms were clean and that is a plus!
In the past, when I go inside, it has always been neat and clean with an array of eateries and such. In more recent years I use the gas station that is at the far end of the plaza. The reason there is that it's extremely convenient to run in and run out which is really all I need to do. But the whole plaza system is well organized and easy to navigate for which I am grateful.
Nice, quick, clean, and lots of options for food. Nice place to take a break off 95. And the gas prices reasonable.
Great location, always stop there for a nap on a long trip.
This little spot is an absolute Godsend. It's jam packed with 6 or 7 different food options, bathrooms, water fountains, and a gift shop/convenience store.
It's super clean, and open decently late too
Parking is plentiful if you just need a break, and there are green spaces if you have a dog that needs to stretch it's legs and go to the bathroom
Behind the eating rest stop is a full gas station with plenty of pumps for everyone (I think I counted 20) which also has a convenience store
it's been quite a long time since I stopped at this Maryland house and I really like the way it's been remodeled. good selection of eateries and decent area to relax and get tourist information
Busy area
Nice staff. The welcome staff was helpful and the girl scouts were selling cookies!
We have nothing like these rest areas in our state. They have lots of food choices, gas, souvenirs, big restrooms, and places to sit and rest.
I really enjoyed stopping at this rest stop. It is a very pleasant experience, the building is very spaceous with lots of different things to do. They have a very nice and clean restrooms, a nice convenience store with lots of different food and drink options, as well as charges, some medicines etc.
They also have a Dunkin donuts and a bunch of other take out chains.
All in all I highly recommend stopping here if you are in the need for a break.
Excellent service and staff. This place is very clean and convenient for that quick stop traveling.
Featuring Wendy's, Nathan's Hot Dogs, and Jerry's pizza. Also had a seafood place and a burrito place that were both closed when we went. Auntie Anne's, Dunkin Donuts, and a convenient store round it out.
Generally very crowded with long lines at almost every restaurant, so come with some patience and time. Be warned that practically everything was expensive - a small cheese steak was $14.99, three chicken strips were $9.99, a ham and cheese sandwich was $10, etc.
If you're looking to save money, the next exit over had restaurants that are probably cheaper.
Bathrooms were clean but half the sinks were closed in the ladies room. This location also offers gas.
We stopped here for a bathroom break while on the road and grabbed a quick coffee. Unfortunately we found the parking lot to be incredibly filthy with trash strewn every where. Very shameful to see such filth.
Only stopped to use the restrooms but very clean overall and very spacious
Great ppace to stop while traveling. Easy on easy off. They have gas and a bunch of different fast food options.
The only issue i uave is there use of kiosks to order food from. They ARE NOT intuative and many times they do not work so you waist time trying to place an order and then have to go up to the counter to order anyway.
But the staff knows this and does quickly ask if you placed an order but will take your order quickly when told you tried.
Place is kept clean and all the staff is freindly which makes it much nicer than most rest areas.
It was nice but needed a lot of cleaning but food and coffee were good
I went they're with family just for one day. Good enough crowd many.
So clean atmosphere well and good behaves all Staff.
I was very disappointed in this reat stop first off the dunkin donut doesn't accept they app. I don't think they should be a dunkin donut if 5hey can't take they app., and Nathan's hotdogs were gross this hotdog had to be sitting along with the onion rings for hours, the hotdog was hard and dry all the thru I didn't bite it, but I broke it to show the young man that worked there how old it was and rightfully so he returned my money I didn't want to eat there after seeing how old the food was that they were still serving. I felt bad for the people who ordered then got right back on the highway only to find out there food was old, very old. At least I got my money back. Othere than that the bathroom were broken down and old.
My favorite rest stop. Been a lot busier with more truckers, however I need a radio to chat with them lol. Loss one star because Chesapeake House is tempting and has newer options
Nice and clean. Excellent choice of food, not just classic rest stop stuff, but also local specialties from spretzel crabcakes to philly sandwiches.
Filled gas here. Didn't expect the rest area with such a big complex. Good thing is you don't have to line up to use the restroom 😂 …
nice and clean bathroom. did not get food as we had snacks in the car but nice place to stretch out your legs after driving
Nice rest area, bathrooms are clean and plenty of parking...you can get a snack and something to drink....
Clean restrooms and several restaurants to choose from inside. As expected you are going to pay for the convenience if you eat or shop here. Gas is available on the property.
Great facilities but the vendors were overwhelmed with lines terribly stretched. Was starving but couldn't wait in line for 15+ minutes to order.
Not great. Not a great place to get something to eat. Half the gas pumps were out of order
Clean and convenient. It has many litter shops and you have access to a variety of food.
It was a decent a friendly experience. I just didn’t like the hours of availability for most businesses there.
Good a place as any to stop on a road trip. Clean, plenty of food options and gas too.
I stopped there on my way back from Virginia to get a cup of coffee from Starbucks which I thought the coffee was horrible for the price that they charged tasted burnt that have been there for a while
Truck Parking?; Only so many Spots. Stays packed w/people, but great service area off Toll Rout.
Great rest stop with clean facilities and a variety of food choices on your way through Maryland.
Nice and clean place to refill your gas, strength and energy!
It's a good rest area for a quick stop on 95. Bathrooms were clean.
Nice food selection and a dunkin donuts where u got the strongest coffee I've ever had. I think they may have given me cold brew concentrate, but no complaints here :)
The place is pretty nice, and we'll taken care of, but its pretty crowded. They do have a wide selection of places to eat and souvenirs to buy. The gas prices were pretty steep, but I assume it's only because it's a convenient way to get to from the highway.
Bathrooms were clean. Only place open at 930pm was Dunkin & a deli on opposite end. Parking lot was full of garbage like a tornado hit.
Random super cute Japanese things like Sanrio coin machine and claw machines with really cute prizes! I will stop here in the future just for these reasons 🤣 …
Bathrooms were kind of dirty and half of it closed off which I'm guessing because they were cleaning it (maybe...). Not sure. We stopped in the middle of the night so maybe that was one of the reasons why it wasn't clean.
Also in the parking lot there was a lady driving around asking for money. She asked for money from me and my uncle separately and asked for different amounts and with different stories...
Never been to such a nice rest stop. Very clean and choices of food
Nice convenient stop along 95. Plenty of clean restrooms (no lines ladies!). Awesome food/drinking options. But my favorite aspect is the bright large Maryland flag outside! Great photo stop too!
Wide open space with lots of natural light for chillaxin indoors or on patio with seating. Standard selection of fast food plus DD. Very clean restrooms. Visitors center plus adjacent gas station.
Not many restaurants that interest me. Every time I stop at the Maryland house, I eat at the same place which is Nathan's and I still enjoy it but two hotdogs, Fry's and a soda the price is outrageous. Again it's like a rest stop but it's very nice the bathrooms are descent, but again they take advantage of The Travelers who they think has lots of money.
Pretty much what you want to eat rest rooms booklets for your travels to where u r going
Its good but simply dosent have the room for the amount of trucks that stop there :/
Nice place for a break.
Restrooms are clean.
There is a corner for kids too.
I didn't go outside this one but it's really nice outside with benches and places to sit and there's food on the inside. Amazing rest stops
Just a bathroom trip and gas up stop. Gas station is not correctly designed for exit. Trucks are parked in lanes they shouldn't be.
Very clean and a nice place for a quick rest. 11/16/22
Stop here often in my interstate travels. Good food court here.
It was very busy but there was no real waiting for the restroom. The food court was really packed.
Ok rest stop. Too many people at the lines for food few workers. Service was poorly.
Only like 2 places open for food and bathrooms were not at their best.
Busy...and depending on what day and time, you may have to wait in line for basically everything...food to snacks...
This place is pretty good
Clean restrooms all the time
Clean, good variety, lots of parking, and a great stop on a long commute.
This rest stop it's OK
But long lines to order food
They need more restaurants
Visited 6/5/22 great customer service at all the restaurants that was open except the auntie Anne's pretzel spot. Too bad they only had one worker there so she had to do everything so they lost a lot of business because there was no food ready. Kudos to her
Felt sleepy while driving from NYC to DC pulled over to rest for a couple of minutes and to use the bathroom. Nice place
We stop here every time we make the trip up/down i95. It has open spaces, clean bathrooms, and a lot of food variety from which to choose.
Quick stop to use the restroom & to get gas. Restroom was clean.
Food is over priced. But good for a restroom break.
A great place to stop and get gas going and coming on I-95
Considering how much time and expense went into developing this, it appears that the restrooms were a complete afterthought. I've never been here when both sides of the women's room were open...while this is very common at other facilities, where one side is often closed for cleaning, that wasn't the case here as the cleaning staff was busily mopping the entire floor around the throngs of travelers looking to relieve themselves. The bathroom itself is disturbingly humid; on my latest visit, a large industrial blower had been positioned at the emergency exit, but it wasn't helping much. Several stall doors either weren't installed correctly or have shifted, preventing them from being closed. The sinks are a remarkably outdated shallow trough style, with the faucets positioned under a ledge. There are two styles of faucets; both have to be actuated by hand, and one has to be held down to keep the water flowing. Either one was a puzzling design choice even in pre-pandemic times.
Bathroom could've been CLEANER but overall good food and restful
Large area for the gas pumps. Was able to comfortably get Deisel while hauling a large boat. Inside the store was clean and had a wide variety of grab and go food.
The place was clean, but they were not prepared for large groups entering the rest stop. Took 45 min for them to get my order, they gave it to another person and forgot about mine. But otherwise nice place.
Was a very nice place many choices to pick from to eat at. The only main problem is when you came in the door there was a man's room right cheer lap write your left and you gotta walk all the way to the other end of the building to get to the woman's room. And everybody knows women have to go faster than men do.
Very friendly and easy stopping point when trying up and down the East. Coming from Illinois, it was a nice, clean place to get a quick bite to eat and get ready for another long drive.
Good rest stop with maintained restrooms and lot of options for food and drinks
Nice & clean rest stop, but every item throughout the complex is terribly overpriced. The big Starbucks drinks are cheaper in Times Square. Good for a restroom break and refilling a water bottle.
We stopped at the gas station to fill up the 29 passenger transport on our return from Strasbourg. The place had clean restrooms, a wide variety of refreshments, and gas. It has most everything the traveler needs.
Wish all states did this! Both directions of highway can get off to use one rest area. Food, gas, picnic, rest area, information...well lit and lots of parking.
Very clean, good food choices, restrooms clean, nice sitting area, massage chairs. All you need for a stop when traveling
Clean, well maintained the restaurant are open for business!
Good stop along a long trip some decent food options
I went there after 11 PM. There were still many travelers but several shops inside of it already closed. Luckily Dunkin Donuts was opened but waiting line was too long..so I gave up a cup of coffee...
I am traveling from Maryland to New Jersey every month because of my family is living in new Jersey. I take coffee and donut from dunkin donut and use restroom for my family. There family room is also clean and diaper changing pad for baby. Dunkin donut is not good because of their customer service in this service area. They don't respond quickly and they don't accept any promotional coupon and don't even accept their dunkin donut application for payment. Anne auntie pretzel are good. Overall good rest area and they also massage chair if someone wants to relax by paying some cash.
Quick easy place to visit off the road and taken care of from what we could tell.
Clean, plenty of parking, ample restrooms.
Nice food service centre. Good place to walk the pets.Lunch time wait in Dunkin Donuts totally sukcs. At 2:30pm the wait was close to 30 min to get an egg and cheese croissants.
Decent quick gasoline stop. Easy in and out access.
Better than your typical roadside rest stop, but sorta scuzzy. Graffiti in the bathroom stalls, distinct urine smell in the parking lot. Good selection of places to buy food and drink inside, but nothing special. You could do worse, I suppose.
Has all kinds of commodities between food courts and vending machines as well as very clean restrooms
This is a nice travel center. It is very busy and it looks like they can is several more employees so the lines are shorter.
New and improved...fairly clean. Only negative...going up a flight of stairs to get into the facility is not optimal.
I stayed for relaxing during my trip from Alaxendriya to New Jersey. Good point mn
Ok I stop here a lot on my trips back and forth to Virginia and it’s the perfect 1/2 way point for me and I must say they never disappoint. Bathrooms are always clean which is huge for me and traveling. The most amazing cheesesteaks, they have a Dunkin Donuts, easy access fuel and a little store to grab all the things you realize you forgot as you think about it in the 3.5 hours it took you to get there. Long story short this place rocks.
Comparison to order rest areas - this is maintained well. Service at the food court needs to be improved.
Very convenient for anything you need at a rest stop.
You won’t be disappointed by stopping here,
Good clean outside air in which to sit on the lawn
& eat from an array of places to choose from for what you’d like
Most restaurants were closed. The pizza place closed with many people still in line (and pizzas in the display case) - so bizarre. We ate from the middle location (between Wendy's and the pizza place). Our food was very good.
Clean bathrooms and inside tables. Gas was easy to get. All-in-all, not bad.
Great clean busy rest stop
Stop to take a break ! Always a good place to grab a bite to eat !
Nice clean pit stop with scenic view but the trailers are parked all over the places and on the side of the road blocking entrance view and signs. I bet you will end up in do not enter entry 😂 …
It's conveniently located right off the highway. Its your one stop shop as they have a convenient store located by the gas station. Instead the Maryland house itself, they have a food court with different varieties of places to choose from.
The bathrooms are nice and clean as they have a person attending to each of the restroom. They also, have a convenient store inside the Maryland house. There is plenty of parking outside. There is plenty of seating inside. Getting back on the highway is just as easy as getting off.
This is a good place to stop and rest if you are traveling down south.
Good food choices, large and not crowded, lots of seating spread out, bathroom stalls plentiful BUT the parking lot and outside area was the trashiest I have seen anywhere in a long time. And the garbage was blowing around.
Always stoping here coming back from DC,is very lively, like the outdoors tables
I had a good time for my 8th grade trip but half is my bathrooms where not available and there isn't another staff in certain areas but other wise I had a good time.
Very spacious and nice variety of munchies. With a Dunkin there also.
I was very upset that the door said Dunkin was 24 hrs &&& I go inside & it was closed. The time needs to be updated.
Very beautiful rest area. I have been very impressed with these turnpike rest area. Sunoco is doing their thing with this collaboration. I would rather be at one of these rest places than a love's. If these traveler rest areas had showers it would be a wrap lol
Not too many food court places open but clean and nice place.
Stopped over to have Dunkin latte for late night long distance driving only to find all the stores except for MDM Market closes late night inside the plaza. Disappointed.
Big place but they have alot of empty restaurants which causes long wait lines
One of the better rest stops you can find along 95.
My daughter and I were traveling to South Hill Virginia for our family reunion. We stopped at the Maryland House going and coming back. This place is really nice and crowded but still enough parking and services for all the travelers. The restroom was clean and no lines. Plenty of eateries to choose from. It was a nice travel stop!
This place has changed alot. If your stopping to use rest rooms great. If your looking to eat they don't have much to offer.
Had to make a pit stop while on a little roadtrip. Very nice travel plaza. Clean inside n out! Beverages, snacks, all good stuff here. Safe stop after dark I would think as well.
Good place to stop if your driving on 95. Big clean bathrooms, plenty of parking. Would have given it 5 stars BUT there is nothing open late night -early morning if you want to grab coffee or. bite to eat they only have highly over priced vending machines avIlable.
Clean bathroom but a lot of the faucets and soap dispensers were out of order.
A good place to rest and gas up before heading to major traffic. Clean restrooms.
Ample parking space. Rest rooms food outlets....
Great place to stop on the way from NJ to VA. Bathrooms are clean, cafe is well stocked. Gas pricing is fair.
Clean ,polite staff,fresh food
Clean bathrooms, Dunkin line for the ordering kiosk was really long.
Just discovered the massage chair and my back is in love. Traveling can be hard with back issues but this stop has it all
Breakfast options were pretty limited leading to long lines. Grab and go items seemed pricey.
This place looked safe and secure for resting after a long drive. I've visited around 10pm EST. It was unfortunate that inside the facilities, most of the shops were closed except one which has limited items to buy. Parking lot wasn't well maintained especially, trashes were here there everywhere. Visitors should have more conscious to trash in designated place and authorities should post enough bins in the parking lot.
I can't believe I'm rating a rest stop. This place is very clean, lots of bathrooms. A good selection of vending machines, but not that many restaurants. Needs more choices. I know it's a rest stop but would be nice to have some good restaurants, instead of face food. Whenever I stop here it's always on my way to Philly or NJ. So it would be nice to sit down and eat something good instead of fast. They have massage chairs there to help with the long journey.
Well, I have to say, I miss the old building. The new structure, while able to easily handle the people who need it, and I'm one, it looks like a couple of conjoined factories. It's pleasant inside and clean and the employees are helpful and friendly. I know, things change.
Nice clean bathrooms but food choices underwhelming
This was a part of the Service plaza. This is one of my favorite service plaza stop on my travel between VA and NY. Definitely this place conveys of flair of Maryland through its food and the location is kept clean amidst the traffic it gets every day.
This location is great. The restrooms are spacious and always clean for such a high trafficked area. There plenty of fast food and convenience choices. There are many great food choices. Restrooms are clean, and modern. There is lots of seating arrangement. There are Massage chairs, Maryland lottery machine etc. The structure is large, spacious, well-lit, and beautiful designed. This is an ideal place for families with children.
Skip the wendys here! Theyre all rude!
Good rest stop with a variety of places where to eat.
I bought a bandana that was clearly marked $3.99 and when scanned rang up $4.99. every one of the bandanas were priced $3.99 with a price sticker clerk argued that they had to charge what it rang up. I brought it to his attention that all of them had a cheaper price sticker on them.
It's a travel stop on 95 and what you would expect. Very clean, nice selection. I give three stars because my wife and I stopped specifically for the Jerry's World Famous Subs and Pizza. A true Maryland institution that has some how withered over the past few years. We get inside only to find... No subs! Only pizza by the slice and salads in those little to go cups. Ooooh ooooooh Jerry's!
Had to stop while driving for everyone to use tbe rest room. The place has quite a few vendors and is a pretty large place. We were impressed and happy to stop and rest a bit.
Ample parking, many fast food restaurants to choose from.
Fun place to stretch your legs.
Sure. There are a few cons-- but that's because the public visit.
If you wanna nice restuarant or a full service truck stop this isn't your stop.
It's run fantastically for what it is by those who run it.
Have realistic expectations and a sense of appreciation.
The place is cool, watch out all who suffer from shiny object syndrome like me the floor sparked with light.
Brand new rest stop on I95. Very clean bathrooms and good variety of foods.
Good rest stop and food options
Barely anything good to eat, except trash. I am aware that I shouldn’t be expected something super healthy, but there’s nothing very filling to eat there. If you’re in need of a bathroom, a place to sit down, or just some snacks, this is definitely an adequate place to go.
For a travel plaza this place could be better. the food selection is mediocre at best and most stalls are always closed. The ones that are open are so short staffed you're better off getting off the highway and stopping elsewhere.
Good stop, always busy, plenty of choices but be careful at the deli stand where a small bag of chips cost over $4!
Clean. Has like 5 or 6 electric cars hook ups. Well lit. Tons of parking. Tons is restaurant selections.
Clean warm friendly and did I mention clean? VERY CLEAN. Thank you so very much. Great food and shout out to the wonderful staff at Wendy's that worked the New Years eve 2020 around 7pm-8pm! You ladies and gentlemen ROCK!
Very clean rest stop lots of food little pricey
I love stopping here when going further up north.
It's your everyday toll road rest stop. Giant restrooms that they try to keep clean but so many people in and out it's hard a bunch of fast food restaurants and plenty of parking
Great and quiet place for rest in long journey
Place was neat and clean. A lots of space & options for food and drinks.
Pleasant rest stop with good outdoor area for stretching. There ample selection of food stalls. Sometimes when the tables are cleaned, they are too wet to use right away. A second wipe with a clean dry cloth should do the trick. The rest are manages well and stay clean.
I usually avoid this rest stop. If you are looking for a shabby to chic place to use the restroom, Maryland House is for you. If you are looking for a quick bite to eat, keep going. While there is variety, the poor design makes the concept of doing so difficult. All of the food is on one side in between the only two
restrooms. The line for the food usually ends up between the beverage island. After ordering your food, you find yourself back among the line of people waiting to order their food. Seating area is small. Bring your own wipes to clean off the table you plan to sit at. While I observed an employee clearing debris from a table, they were not in possession of a spray bottle and rag. Maybe this was the reason they were on their phone.
Place is great! Always clean. Basic fast food restaurants, no vegetarian or salad options. Sadly.
Great restrooms, social distancing. The shop had a limited selection of healthy options, just more junk food.
There are plenty of vendors to get probably whatever you want to eat or drink. The bathrooms are also clean. For a highway rest stop I recommend it.
Great location for a rest stop. They have Tesla superchargers, a good variety of food choices and clean bathrooms!
Very nice place, been here twice, food, bathroom, vending machines, gas, everything I needed
We stopped here during our travels, and I very disappointed 😞. Use to be a great place to get Phillips Seafood. Phillips was closed, as well as a few other restaurants ! This rest-stop basically offered "Fast food (i.e Donuts, Pizza, Wendy's), with really long lines to purchase it!" Won't be stopping here for food in the future! …
One of the best rest areas in MD. Plenty of places to eat or get snacks.
Be aware that not all the stores inside are open.
Good place to stop. Plenty of spots to park and a ton of pumps for gas. There are many places to eat or get a snack. Though, many close in the evening.
The women in the restrooms need tips!! It amazes me how WOMEN leave these restrooms, you would think you were at a bar by the train tracks!!! Clean up your act ladies and tip the women who clean up your nasty messes!
Just cause its public it's not the woods!!
Clean multiple places to eat and stop to just rest when driving for so long
It's clean and Dunkin/Wendy's are open late. The gas station also has restrooms. This is my favorite rest stop between NY and Virginia.
Nice place, but overpriced food.
Clean, good shops. Easy on and off the highway.
Going south on 95, this is the last place to get gas directly off the highway. There are many pumps. You can pay with a credit card or cash. The staff is friendly and helpful. It was a nice stop
This location is great. There is parking for days and the way that they have recharge stations for those electric vehicles is amazing. The restrooms and spacious and always clean for such a high trafficked area. Only one drawback: PRICES! Wow, they want to pay rent with just one sandwich. Change it, make it more affordable people!
Always love stopping here it's always so clean. Food here is good to so no complaints here I would definitely stop during your travels if you need a place to stop even if it's just to stretch your legs for a second. Safe travels everyone and remember to always wear a make until this is all over we are all in this together.
My go to rest stop whenever I’m in the area. Always clean. Great layout. Recently completely renovated. A ton of food selections, lots of convenience items and countless refreshments. Always super busy to. Be it 3:00 AM or PM. Been there at most hours in between too!
Perfect rest stop, just what we needed, driving for many hours. There are many places to park, can be accessed from either side of the highway.
You walk in, there's an information both, maps, hi tech materiel too find cool things in this area and surrounding areas. There's a gift shop, and plenty of place to sit down and eat.
The bathroom was huge, set up perfectly, plenty of room, no waiting, all hi tech materiel, very clean. If I would drive down this trip again, this is the place to do a stop off.
No comments really sometimes its hard to review rest stops. It has all of the above but they close. Don't expect 24hr service from most of the stores Dunkin is open later or even 24hr.
Very nice rest stop, but severely understaffed. When we came in the place was PACKED but there were shops closed and lines out the door for those open!
Very clean with good rest rooms, plenty of parking and seating indoors or out. The food is all fast food, but there are 5 or 6 choices including deli sandwiches and ice cream. Attractively set up, with trees and plants, and comfortable seating.
Gas is priced a bit high. Haven't tried any of the many other concessions. When traveling north from south of D.C., this place is a welcome respite. There seems to be no other rest areas along the route, and that traffic can be bad.
This is a very nice rest stop with many food options. It is updated and modern, and my only complaint is that in the morning the wait for Dunkin was rather long.
It was very crowded, but I liked the kiosk to order food on and it was ready extremely fast! And they have a super cute gift shop with lots to chose from from food to souvenirs to drinks to books ect s bit pricey but I grabbed a few things. A few restaurants. Vending machines, atms, restrooms 🚻. Massage chairs. Very clean though. Very friendly staff. Nice stop though! Nice building!!
First time... busy location, but not annoyingly so. Lots of difference eateries and shopping points with clean bathrooms. The vendors were polite enough, and everything felt mostly professional.
Kids liked it, and we even stayed a bit longer in the gift shop hunting for keepsakes.
All in all, well worth the stop, so much so that I would add it to itinerary if we ever went that way again.
Great on the road experience. Able to stop for bathroom break, gas up, get coffee and get back on the road without ang challenges.
Clean and has many choices to eat. A special shoot out to the Dunkin donuts staff, those ladies are quick and efficient
This is always a stop on my way to NJ. Always clean, tons of food choices and two different places to gas up, there's a separate dog walking area which is really the main reason I stop here. 5 stars would have been given if the employees at auntie anne's weren't so mean and nasty..
Packed with fast food options, socially distanced tables, and vending machines. The bathrooms are clean and the plethora of massage chairs are very tempting. There are Tesla and electric car charging stations. Just don't get turned around and forget what entrance you entered through like I did!
We look forward to stopping here every time we travel.
Pretty good service area. Bathroom was OK. Staff was definitely unfriendly. Fellow travelers were inconsiderate. Facility was adequately maintained. Management is slack but not incompetent.
Most food stands were closed and the 2 or 3 opened had signs stating "short handed be patient " restroom in need help, that's code for they stunk and it wasn't even busy. I will say the young lady at Dunkin Donuts was very pleasant.
Plenty of truck parking… liked all the food choices. Staff was RUDE! Girl at the Auntie Anne’s was straight up rude. Asked for the pretzel dogs. She quickly said were out! I just watched them come out the oven. Did she ask if any where ready? Umm No… Told her I just watched them come out… Her comment to a co worker“we should have this covered so they ( meaning customer) can’t see! WHAT! Guess that’s what we get from these kids now! Smh
Nice clean restrooms. It is bigger than the old one but I miss the old one! But nevertheless it's really nice to stop stretch your legs get something to eat and or just rest👍! …
Really nice rest stop. Very well maintained and clean. I didn't get anything to eat on this stop but I would have eaten at any one of the places. I've been averaging like 600 miles a week for work, so I have seen a few rest stops; this one is among the nicest.
On my way back home Baltimore running low on gas gas prices are still to high and the store has a nice section of different merchandise to buy
Clean, modern, and decent selection of food including Dunkin Donuts and Wendy's. No Starbucks.
Great place to stop on a long road trip for gas and snacks. Easy to get to and easy to get back on your way. Great bathroom facilities.
Great service area. Everything is here. I would recommend everyone to come when you pass by for a long journey.
As far as rest stops go it's awesome, so many good food choices. But and this is important it is always busy during daylight hours. Parking is good enough to help get you in and out but once inside it's such a large room there is no escaping the feeling.
Best bathrooms on 95...
Good food options. My preferred rest stop in Maryland.
Fantastic rest stop. Bathrooms are almost always very clean. Lots of parking and food options. Gas station in the lot. They also have some Tesla charging stations available for you to use. It's easily accessible from the road.
Nice, big, facility we often visit when traveling South. Lots of food options, a Starbucks, and even a convenience store so I can grab some sunflower seeds for the road! Bathrooms are spacious and clean.
Just remember, access is through a left lane exit! Plenty of signs ahead of time give you enough warning. Nicely done.
This Dunkin Donuts does not sell small cups of coffee only medium and large cups they had no ham and all the donuts were gone and they dont except debit cards or credit cards only cash and the ATM fee is 5$ what world are the living in smh
It is a public rest stop so not a place to inherently love, but also a fine example of its kind. Spotlessly maintained, airy, with some comfortable seats and a good selection of refreshments. Bathrooms have a lot of stalls, which is what you want, and is very clean. Parking is free of course. You do need to pay attention to the the signs to get gas, and for those used to right side exits, the left exit is unusual but not bad.
The two women at the welcome desk on July 30th, 12:30pm (on the off chance their bosses might see this) were absolutely amazing. My car had broken down in the parking lot and my brother and I asked for help, hoping there might be a mechanic who could come take a look or just a good tow truck, and they were both so helpful! One got right to finding towing options, and the other actually came to check out my car and see if she could figure out the problem. And she did! Was a super simple fix, and we got right back on the road.
They were both our heroes for the day and having one of them come check out the car herself was SUCH an unexpected and appreciated gesture. 11/10, very grateful for the exceptional service!
Clean restrooms, easy on/off thru way. Very pricey to buy snacks in the mart, though. I got a Granola bar and a 4-pack of cheese slices/deli meats and it was $13.
Great rest stop. Clean and large bathrooms. Has Tesla and other electric charging stations. Food choices are good. Can get a little crowded at peak times but still worth the stop. Safe travels!
There was only one place where you could get coffee here. That was a Dunkin Donuts. The line was way too long. The gas station didn't have any paper towels to clean off your windows. However, it was nice to see that an attendant was emptying out the waste receptacles.
Relatively clean facilities and better than some of the other rest stops I've been to. Lots of toilets in the bathroom. I just wish they had paper towels to dry your hands instead of those nasty hand dryers that just blow bacteria all over your hands. There's lots of seating and I pretty good variety of places to choose to eat from if you want. I got food from Wendy's. It was good. It actually seemed fresh. Two of the soda fountains didn't have ice though.
Super cool rest stop! I was amazed. Felt like I was in a fancy mall food court. Bathrooms were extremely clean. Only reason I gave 4 stars because I didn’t get to try any food :( Overall, I’ll make sure to keep this another rest stop for our family during long trips. Also, seems like a neat hangout for locals!
Very nice. A lady that works there helped my visually impaired friend when she dropped her rings in the restroom. She found them, sprayed with disinfectant, and put on a table for her. Nice people still exist in spite of the news. Many thanks!
Rest stop off I-95.
Restrooms are clean, but the c-store has a poor selection and appeared less than clean.
There were several foodservice offerings, but many were closed, most likely due to the lack of help in the service industry.
Usual line at Starbucks.
Food selection and variety is much smaller than the Chesapeake House just north of this facility. Dining area was grungy and just felt unclean. Bathroom were clean . Entire facility and parking area was well lighted and felt safe. The complex is very large and navigating from the food area to the gas pumps and to and from the highway can be tricky.
Great place to pee! Although the waterless units stink. The rest of the place was very clean. Better than the portable johns in New Jersey on 295. With all the taxes you would think they would take better care of the driving public. Ya gotta go, ya gotta go!
Has a variety of vendors to choose from but may not be available off regular hours. Decent enough place for a stop. There are signs warning of vehicle break-ins so hide your valuables and lock the vehicle!
I usually make it a point to stop here if I need to on my longer trips on 95. The place is very clean and inviting for weary travelers, there’s a decent selection of food, and the bathrooms are always clean. I definitely feel safe and comfortable stopping here at any time of day which I can’t say about all rest stops.
Great stop with plenty of choices to eat. Very clean bathrooms. Clean grounds. Plenty of parking for buses, cars, RVs, and semi trucks. Fuel available.
It's convenient for a bathroom break and a pause from driving but it's not as nice as when it first reopened after being remodeled. I think there are better food options at the Delaware Welcome center further north.
Convenient location. A 7/11 is located across from it. Clean restrooms. Has a variety of restaurants you can choose from. A gift shop and plenty of vending machines filled with soda, juices, water, snacks, ice cream, and more.
Nice clean, comfortable place to get off the road for a few. My only problem was the 20 minute wait in line at Dunks. The Dunks staff worked like a well oiled machine though, very friendly, organized, and efficient....there just was a ton of customers come in at the same time. Several different food choices too.
Spend many hours here due to severe road conditions during recent rain storms, no one bothered us, plenty of food options, clean bathrooms, the bathroom attendant was sorta rough, like a drill sergeant. But other than her great customer service at the 3 businesses I purchased from. Albeit most things were seriously up charged.
Liked the layout, huge facility. Topped off the gas tank, & took a quiet break. Nice pit stop.
Nice place, plenty of choices on what you want to eat, lines not that bad and wait times are reasonable. Bathrooms are clean.
The restroom was clean. It's more expensive than a normal rest stop. We wanted lunch, but ended up getting snacks because lunch would have cost as much as a sit-down restaurant. The first time we stopped, the lines were long and seemed to take forever. The second time, the lines were better. The employees were friendly, especially one of the ladies at Dunkin Donuts.
Would have been a much better stop had Dunkin been way more prepared to serve their guests. Lines were long, couldn’t pay with app and could only pay in cash. Ridiculous wait if your in a hurry.
Good for a quick bite. Would be nice if they had a restaurant . Where you can seat down to a hot meal. Nice spot.
This rest stop is really good. It has 5 or 6 fast food choices, clean restrooms, sundries, and even a place to buy lottery tickets. They also have a gas station. In the same parking lot.
It was clean and well lit and felt perfectly safe. Not always true with some rest stops.
I love this place. Every time I go home I 🛑 here, and on the way back 🏠 I stop 🛑 here. I live in Connecticut, my home is in North Carolina, I actually is from South Carolina, but that's whole different story.when you get off the New Jersey turnpike pass by Chesapeake house and go to the Maryhouse you will enjoy it whole lot. That's north to south
