This was my third time adventuring with Flying Bike! My team of 16 aerial adventure guides and I rented bikes and had an absolute blast touring Asheville! The year prior, we took the guided tour which was phenomenal. This year, we decided to strike out on our so that we could grab lunch at White Duck Taco, grab a drink at New Belgium, and ride around the River Arts District. Both years, this experience has been a staff favorite and one of the major highlights of our trip. Torin and his team are always professional, friendly, and super fun. Anna-Marie was our rental guide this year and she was so awesome! I highly recommend checking them out! You won't be disappointed!

We had the BEST time on the downtown Asheville e-bike tour. Joe was a great guide! When we started out I was a little concerned it was going to be too much stop and go and not any areas of long bike riding. As the bike tour progressed there was plenty of open riding. This was the highlight of our weekend getaway and would definitely take another e-bike tour when we are back.

This company is second to none. They gave us an amazing tour but also advocate for bike infrastructure in Asheville and when our tour group was stranded at their shop, loaned us bikes to get to where we needed to go. We had a wonderful time and were able to see parts of Asheville we never saw. Pearl was our tour guide and we enjoyed her knowledge and clear instructions. We have never ridden electric bikes but it was simple. We paid extra for the food included and were glad since we were hungry. Only thing I missed was not having a left handle mirror to see behind me, highly suggest it to the Flying Bike. Definitely will be back!

This tour was the highlight of our trip!! Our guide, Peter, was so knowledgeable and entertaining! He made our experience so fun and memorable! Would highly recommend, and this is coming from a couple who has zero experience with biking! They teach you everything you need to know right off the bat. I was looking for something to do in Asheville with my daughter (who is 4) to kill time and I stumbled upon this place of business. The owner was very friendly and his staff was amazing. I got a quick crash course on how to use the electric bike (since I've never rode one) and then it was off I went. I had my daughter securely riding in the attachment in the back and we had a blast riding through downtown!!. We seriously had the best time. When we returned we hung out for a little bit, and one of the employees told me about Sunshine Sammy's (they had some amazing ice cream sandwiches!). If I'm ever in Asheville again I would visit this place again in a heartbeat.

This was definitely a highlight of our visit to Asheville. We had never been on e bikes before, and it was great to discover how easy, comfortable, and fun they were. Our guide, Alex, was outstanding. They always had their eye on the group and safely guided us through the city. We covered a lot of ground, and yet didn’t break a sweat with the e bikes. We stopped at city sites half a dozen times, and the unique and quirky history provided by Alex was so entertaining. Bikes came with their own saddle bags, and the Flying Bike site had washrooms and free water from the water cooler. There was a stop half-way on our 3-hour tour that had washrooms, a place to fill water bottles and even buy some quick snacks and a coffee.

This was my second ride with Flying Bike this year. This time I took my family for the winter premium tour with tastings. Alex was our tour guide and she was terrific. On of our riders was a bit tentative with the e-bike and Alex went out of her way to keep an eye on her and ensure she was comfortable and felt safe. We had some friends come into town and we wanted to explore Asheville in a unique way. We decided to rent some electric bikes from the Flying Bike. It was the best decision and we all had a blast. We did a self guided tour down to the River Arts District. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was super easy to book. Every step of the process was seamless. Despite being a very chillly 32° we had a delightful, informative and super fun time with Alex! He blended informative history with cool local details all while keeping us safe on the E-bikes. Safe and easy even for those who aren’t familiar with how to ride them. Loved that we saw neighborhoods off the beaten path and places not on a normal downtown tour since we were so much more mobile. My husband & I took 2 teenage boys on the downtown tour and it was really fun! I was hesitant since I have no e-bike experience and I towed a teen who is basically my size. It was easy to learn how to ride the e-bike and the ‘cargo’ wasn’t a problem at all. We laughed a lot! Stephanie was a wonderful guide. I highly recommend! Joe was our guide today and did a wonderful job getting everyone comfortable with the bikes before we set out. He did a fantastic job getting us around town bypassing many of the busy streets, and made meaningful stopping areas as he gave us local history and architectural stories and facts. 100% recommendation for this tour. Took at 13 year old son, and my 77 year old dad, we never broke a sweat!

This is a great, laid back way to see so many cool parts of Asheville. Brian was a great, and patient tour guide. We did this as a great first-day activity, and we were not disappointed. Had a great time with our guide Stephanie! Very kind, personable and knowledgeable. The bikes are a lot of fun, especially if you haven't ridden an Ebike yet. There's even a part of the tour where you can test their full speed out. The scenery on the tour is awe inspiring especially near the Omni Grove Park Inn. Would recommend to anyone comfortable biking on semi-busy roads for part of the tour.

This is a “must do” if you are in Asheville. Anna was an amazing guide and knew so much about this fabulous city. What a nice way to see some sites, get a little fresh “healing” mountain air and taste a little of Asheville along the way. This was a great last minute decision for our family. I took the Downtown tour with a co-worker/friend and Brian was our guide. He was great! I've lived in Asheville for 17 years and I learned a few things that I didn't know about our town. And the E-Bikes were SO much fun! It was amazing being able to ride all the way up to the Grove Park Inn without breaking a sweat. Plus, he took us on routes that felt very safe through scenic neighborhoods north of downtown. I'll definitely recommend it to folks from out of town as well as locals!

Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Asheville. Through word of mouth, we heard about this awesome e-bike tour. Wanting to try e-bikes and visit Asheville again, we signed up. It did not disappoint!! We did the 12:30 tasting tour and had a fantastic time with our tour guide, Alex. He took us through a variety of neighborhoods, along a winding bike path and up to the beautiful Grove Park Inn Resort for breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. He was so knowledgeable, interesting and personable, sharing history, facts and insights along the way. A must add to the list of things to do in Asheville. We're already planning a return trip!

I had never done anything like this and had no idea what to expect, but I certainly didn’t expect to have as much of an amazing time as I did! The introduction to the bikes was just the right amount to get us going, the stops were all lovely and perfectly spaced out, and all the food was delicious! Our guide Steph was so lovely and she made sure we were accommodated, safe, and having fun the whole time. I really went into it thinking we were crazy, but came out of it wanting to recommend the experience to everyone!

I wish i could put more stars!!! The Flying Bike was by far one of the most fun and exciting things i have done here in Asheville and i have been visiting family here since i was born! I would recommend having someone who knows the area go with you but you definitely don't need to. We rented 4 bikes for 4 hours and we were able to cover over 20 miles around town, up a mountain , stop for lunch and ice cream and still were able to enjoy to scenery. I will definitely be doing this again!!!

What a fun way to experience Asheville! It was our first trip to the area. I didn’t realize we were going to go through so many different parts of greater Asheville. It was a bonus! One of the best activities you can do while visiting Asheville! Our guide was Brian, who was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. He made sure everyone was comfortable with the bikes and then took us on a tour of some of the best architectual landmarks, neighborhoods, homes, and eateries in town. While I always have concerns riding in the street - especially on the Friday after thanksgiving with many visitors in town - the greenway riding was wonderful and fun. Highly recommend! Our guide Peter was awesome! Very informative tour with a great sense of humor. Paperwork out of the way, Peter made sure we had helmets and bikes properly adjusted. Before taking off on the road, we went to a flat parking lot across the street to go over the ebike control and make sure everyone was starting, stopping and turning comfortably. My wife and I both had a wonderful time and loved the bikes. Warning: If you are staying at a hotel downtown near Arcade, even though its only a 15 min walk, if you're not in the greatest condition, go ahead and drive to the location. Its not far, but we were staying at the Kimpton and the walk back was ALL up hill! Its not horrible, but my wife and I are in our mid 50's and she had COVID about a month before our tour.

Enjoyable experience going through different areas of Asheville. It was great that the ebikes had a throttle along with power assist. Only peddled when I chose to. Easy to manage, turning was slightly wider than regular bikes. Steph was a fun guide that kept an eye on all of us. Would recommend!

Three of us did the Flying Bike Tour recently and had a great time. We've been to Asheville numerous times, but got to see it from a different perspective. Brian was our tour guide and did a fantastic job. He was full of Asheville knowledge and shared it generously. If you do this tour as a group I would recommend keeping your socializing to a minimum and let your tour guide do the talking. If you ride a bike on a regular basis you should have no problem with the electric bike experience. If you haven't ridden in a few years you should be able to catch on in a few blocks. Brian was very patient with a rider in our group that had lesser bike skills than the rest of the group. The hills of Asheville are no challenge for an electric bike making the whole experience easy.

100% you should do this. You get a view of all the sides of the city, with a great tour leader. Torin gave us a great overview and history of all the major landmarks, as well as recommendations and tips for the lesser-known gems. I'm not a big history buff so I was surprised at how he was able to explain the connections between all of the locations, the history behind them, their relevance to the current Asheville culture, in a fun way that kept my attention. I would suggest you do this FIRST if you're coming to town so you can get a wonderful overview of the town. We finished with a lot of ideas of where we wanted to go back to and explore further. Oh and about the electric bikes themselves. They were easy to use (we had never ridden one before) and it was a great way to get all over the city, even out to the outskirts, without breaking a sweat. You zip up hills with ease and are able to check out the scenery as you go.

We took a bike tour with Laura. We loved everything about this tour. It was worth every penny. The bikes are the most comfortable bikes I've ever ridden. Usually after about an hour on a bike my hind in has had enough. We rode 3 hours and I could have gone the rest of the day . I can't say enough good things about my experience with The Flying Bike Tour my 5 year old daughter and I took with Jeremy and Ethan. Riding a Pedego cargo bike is a dream for hilly Asheville - the bike basically pedals itself! We learned a lot about Asheville's history and quirks, tasted some excellent BBQ and chocolate, and rode with ease through interesting neighborhoods. It was absolutely the best way to get to know Asheville as a first timer, but I am sure that frequent visitors will also learn something new from Jeremy. My sister and I got our Dad an ebike tour for Christmas. This June we had a big family vacation planned for Asheville, so we booked a tour with Flying Bike. They were extremely nice and accommodating seeing as we messed our dates up, completely our fault. But they rebooked us for the date and time we thought we had booked. Alex took the time with each of us (7 people in the tour) to make sure we were comfortable on our ebikes and comfortable using our ebikes, as we were mostly novices. Had a great time with this group. We were supposed to go the week before but the weather was predicted to be 12f so we cancelled the day before without any problems. We rebooked and lucked out with a beautiful sunny spring day. Joe was super friendly, knowledgeable about the area and kept things moving along - both on the road and off. Traveling around like this is a great way to see the area and pick places to visit and eat (which we did after the tour). This was an excellent experience! Our guide Beau was really on top of everything. He made sure we all knew how to operate our bikes and were comfortable before leaving on the tour. It is a 3 hour tour, but never felt like it was going on too long. We saw a number of spots along the way and Beau always had something interesting to say. He obviously knows the area well. The bikes are easy to ride and take all the hard work out of pedaling around a very hilly city. Of course, if you want the exercise you can turn the electric motor down too, but don't think you have to be a dedicated cyclist to enjoy this tour.

This tour was a ton of fun! I had never ridden on an E bike before and now don’t think I’ll ever want to get on a regular bike again. Our guide was super cool and hip. She was informative without being boring. You don’t have to be in any kind of shape to ride the bikes but this is *not* a leisurely tour. We were zipping along at points at 20+ miles an hour. For experienced bike riders used to riding on city streets, it would probably be tame but for me it was kind of a thrill. The ride was scenic the whole way and going up the hills we’re a breeze. I would whole heartedly recommend this tour.

Since you must be 16 to operate one, we weren't sure how my 11-year old daughter would like being on the back of my bike (like a baby), but she really enjoyed it. The flyingbike is a wonderful little shop with friendly staff and great bikes. We had a 4 hour rental for 2 bikes. Even under decent battery use the bikes were still running strong when we droped them off at the end of the 4 hours. Honestly by bike is probably one of the best ways to explore downtown Asheville, all the small shortcuts and bike lanes made our adventuring a fun and exciting experience. And with how hilly this little city is the battery saved my butt quite a few times never did I have to do the walk of shame up a hill. I have always been an avid fan of ebikes and I can definitely say there's were incredibly nice and they had quite a decent fleet of them.

We loved our experience with the Flying Bike. It was one of our favorite adventures of our Asheville trip. We rented two cargo bikes and each parent had one child on the back- an eight year old and an eleven year old. Helmets were provided for all sizes. We were a little nervous at first (we had never ridden electric bikes), but after a quick lesson from our experienced guide, we were ready to go! I can't think of a more fun way to get up and down hills and to explore different parts of a city. Our guide was informative and friendly, and we learned a lot about the city. The three hours flew by, we could have kept going even longer. Thanks to the Flying Bike for a great experience and memory!

My two daughters and I took this tour during a recent visit to Asheville. It was so fun! I was a little concerned about using an electric bike as we never had before. I rented an e-bike for 2 hours — fantastic way to explore Asheville. The e-bike assist is extremely useful for ascending all the hills around town — and it was also beneficial when I was biking into a strong headwind along the river. The staff are super helpful and explain everything you need to know about riding an e-bike. If you are comfortable riding a conventional bicycle, then you should have no problem with the e-bike. Highly recommend!

I went on the morning Asheville tour today and it was amazing! The bikes were very nice and easy to ride, as well as comfortable. Our tour guide Torin who is also the owner was amazing and super helpful! My grandmother came along and hadn't ridden a bike in years and couldn't get the hang of it, instead of turning her away he brought out another electric bike with a seat on the back and drove her along with him. The information on the tour was very engaging and we even got to get off of the bikes and go into the Grove park inn and the Grive shopping center where he told us a lot about the history of each. I would definitely recommend this tour and will absolutely go again the next time I'm in Asheville!

What an awesome experience!! We had Anna as the lead guide and Tom as the back guide. Anna was great and gave an excellent history of Asheville. Huge, huge shout out to Tom. My wife and I along with our 2 year old daughter stayed at the back with Tom. At the stops, we kind of just wandered having a 2 year old and all. Tom at some point before one of the stops picked a flower and small sprigs of Rosemary and thyme to give to our daughter, who just so happens to love flowers and herbs!! Overall the tour was fantastic. He led us through many different parts of Asheville, including downtown, the Montford neighborhood, Reed Creek Greenway, the Grove Park Inn, and more. starts with the vibes. From the minute you enter the space at The Flying Bike the stage is set for a really fun experience. Plenty of friendly help was on hand to guide us through the waiver process to selecting a helmet. The owner Torin welcomed us and shared his personal story of entrepreneurship as well as his love of Asheville and e-biking. Then he did something purposeful and amazing - he memorized everyone in our large group’s name before giving us our ground training and taking us into the streets of Asheville. Clearly, this business is more than renting bikes to him and it shows. As far as the bike and tour go - 10 out of 10. He explained how the bikes work, how to use the gears, throttle and brakes and had us all practice in the lot. Our group was large and he had 3 other team members with us in the tour to make sure everyone was safe and having fun. The bikes were really fun, smooth and easy to ride. And clean and well cared for. I was intimidated at first - but got the hang of it right away. Our kids are 10 and 14. We rented the cargo bikes which were easy to carry a passenger on. There is a comfy padded saddle and platforms for their feet and a rail to hold onto to. If I am being honest, my 14 yr old daughter wasn’t exactly thrilled with that. Obviously, she wanted her own bike and felt embarrassed to have to ride behind dad. I liked having my 10 year old behind me so we could enjoy the tour together and talk about what we were seeing. Asheville is so pretty and the history is super interesting. Torin loves sharing the history he knows. We would never have seen all we did if we had just done the rental. The tour was the way to go for us. Don’t miss this Asheville treasure when you visit.

We rented the ebikes for 4 hours to get around Asheville with our toddler. When we arrived they had the kids seat on one of the bikes waiting for us all ready to go and they had helmets for everyone including our little one. They were super helpful giving us a map with some recommended stops including food trucks, beer and the Motorway Memorial park which had a great playground and made for a great spot for a break. The ebikes were easy to use and we had plenty of time to ask questions and get used to them before hitting the road. Asheville has a ton of bike lanes and the pedal assist on the ebike made me comfortable riding on the road. I’d recommend doing the 4 hour rental instead of 2 hours, we ended up returning at 3 hours just because it was hot & we were a bit burnt out but we were glad we didn’t have to rush back at the 2 hour mark. Definitely a fun and easy way to see Asheville!

Amazing electric bikes! It was a highlight of our trip to Asheville. We wanted to ride our bikes to the biltmore estate but we were nervous to take our bikes on the street with the cars, so the owner drove his car behind us so we wouldn’t have to worry about cars. My husband and I were looking for something to do in Asheville when we came upon The Flying Bike. Making the reservation was super easy but the best part was the tour itself. The tour took just over 2 1/2 hours and was so informative. Our tour leader, Richie was very knowledgable and gave great and interesting facts and information at each stop and along the way as well. The bikes were so easy to use and made the tour possible for us - we would have never made it up and down those hills without the pedal assistance! We were newbies to electric bikes but they were great - we will definately look for similar tours when we travel to other places.

We walked right up on a Friday morning and rented a standard E-bike and a cargo bike with a Yepp seat for our 3-year old. Richie (sp?) was very helpful. The bikes were in good shape and easy to learn. We rode through the river arts district and through the river park system with a few toddler breaks in a two-hour timeslot. A three-hour option would have allowed us time to stop somewhere for lunch :) Would definitely recommend using their app to pre-order a bike/timeslot online especially during a busier holiday time or weekend. We'd love to do this again the next time we're in Asheville!

We loved the Flying Bike electric bike experience so much we're tempted to buy some electric bikes of our own! My wife and I visited Asheville for the first time and wanted to see the area and we love bike tours. We have done bike tours during many of our previous vacations in other cities and were a little worried to do one in Asheville since the area is hilly and steep in some areas. We were concerned it would be too strenuous and wouldn't be enjoyable, but the concierge at the Grove Park Inn suggested the electric bikes and we thought we'd give it a try. It turned out to be the perfect way to see the town and we had so much fun on the electric bikes. The tour started with a brief introduction by Torin, and then an explanation of how the bikes worked. The bikes allowed you to use a Pedal Assist mode where the electric power was automatically used while you pedaled to make the pedaling easier, and there was also a twist throttle on the right handle bar which you could use when you didn't want to pedal at all. It was a very intuitive system and after a couple laps around the parking lot we were all pretty comfortable with the system. Torin took us through the downtown area with a brief stop at a church, then we rode out to the Grove Park Inn. The hills were no problem on the bikes, and you could choose to get a workout, or you could just relax and let the bike do all the work. We liked the Pedal Assist option, but the throttle was handy, especially when you were trying to get going from a full stop going up a hill. Torin made sure everyone was comfortable on the bikes, did an awesome job keeping everyone together and safe, and he was a great tour guide and had some unique stories and insights regarding Asheville. My wife and I enjoyed the tour and thought it was the most fun part of our trip to Asheville.

My family and I had a wonderful time exploring Asheville with Turin! He was so knowledgeable about the city and its history, and had many great personal recommendations for the best places to eat and drink. We biked nearly eight miles and within this time saw beautiful views of Asheville from the Omni Grove Inn, as well as toured the heart of the city and the Botanical Gardens. The extra assist from the electric bike on the steeper hills never made the trip too strenuous and allowed us to take in all of the city's beauty! We could not have asked for a better guide than Turin, he was extremely gracious and personable and we would highly recommend his tour to anyone.

He has lived here for 20 years. I felt very safe since I hadn't ridden a bike in 20 years. I was glad I wasn't with the Asheville Adventure Company. They were drinking at the bar at the Grove Park Inn and then getting on their electric bikes. Wow...wait till they get a DUI or if they die!!!! Not my cup of tea!! The Flying Bike Company is insured...and they don't let people drink and drive!

I was walking up with my son as owner was pulling out.. he came back to open up and help us out... owner made sure bike would fit my son and check availability of times for us... we also forgot our mask and he gave us ones to wear in his shop.. they are very careful about the virus.. the owner is great, this is the place to rent electric bikes and cruise around town.. highly recommend...
