Reviews of Visit Anchorage Log Cabin Visitor Information Center
Kristine Watanabe
Great first stop on our very first visit to Anchorage. The staff had a ton of great information and recommendations and I came away with quite a few maps and guide books. The Trolley Tour starts/stops right outside the center as well.
Paul Moore
The log cabin wasn't open when we visited Anchorage but great pictures all around the outside, and a great example of a live roof.
Jesse James White
Just ran in to get a few guides and was stuck there for 15-20 minutes. They have a ton of information, but it’s hidden/ stored behind the desk. You have to wait for the single staffer/ volunteer to be available to inquire about what they have. I guess I prefer a self-serve visitor center.
Samantha C
The log cabin visitor center is very picturesque but the visitor center is tucked behind it and there you will find all the brochures you could ask for. The staff are very friendly. The visitor center also offers free postcards that they will post stamp and mail for free.
Dennis Lambie
Great way to get started in Anchorage . Lots of fun and a great way to find out where things are located.
Jordan Flick
This review doesn’t even begin to reflect the flowers outside of the cabin. Such a joy to spend time with all the beauty! Friendly, knowledge staff.
Lindo Korchi
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Inside the Log Cabin is very decorative, comfortable, and filled with a ton of information. They also had a display of currencies from different countries. It was awesome to see.
Lily LP
This is the great place to learn and choose your tours. The guides are knowledgeable and happy to help. You'll learn there about more tour options than on any inherent website if you search in your own. Also, they have a great city tours right outside of visitors information center that I recommend to take if you're visiting Anchorage.
kenneth ringsted
Very helpful service personnel. Plus there is a bigger visitor center right behind this one. Which has more info on fishing and other things to do as well
Marcia Lichty
Worth the stop! They give you postcards and mail them for you!!! They also will customize their recommendations based on your time in Alaska and the type of experiences based on your interests.
One Pan Man
The perfect size cabin with all you need to make your stay a comfortable one....don't pass up this gem.
Katelyn Bodwell
This place is adorable! They have so many info books and maps for wherever in Alaska you’re headed. They also provided postcards that you can address and stamp for free!

Anna Kozma
Super friendly staff, gave me tons of valuable information and recommendations
Raihan K
One of the best tourist visitor centers that I have ever walked in to get some help. The staff were very friendly and informative. We went in their twice to get suggestions. In addition, the kids toys were cheaper here than any surrounding area; it’s unheard of as I am used to observing inflated price at visitor centers.
Jim Brown
Nice visitors center with lots of beautiful flowers.
M Rous
Really interesting log cabin with tons of ideas for what to do while in AK. Don't miss the huge boulder of Nephrite Jade out front or the visitors center and display out back. Super helpful and knowledgeable staff. They have a display of currency from around the world, so you may be able to fill in some of their empty slots(next post will be a list).
Dwayne Paul
Nice tram ride through town. Foreign money on the walls and free postcards.
Susan Ramer
First of all, they have such beautiful flowers! They are also quick to help you.

You have questions, here's the place to find out what you need . Canoe rides, sight seeing, whale watching, sight seeing trips, and all kinds of information of every fun and exciting event here. You got to try the red bus service. Got to see the first under ground house . Only the smoke pipes sticking out of the ground. Saw the land that dropped twenty feet the last earthquake . The tundra that is keeping Anchorage from expanding it's city limits. Very informative. Didn't see any bears this time. Have fun in the warmth of Alaska .
Doug Chuka
Really helpful staff who go out of their way to make sure you have all the info you need. The wildflower roof is cool. Only downside are the panhandlers that hound you for money in the area.
usha rani

Jessica Benoit
The lady's are super energetic , excited to help you. They are so knowledgeable, are eager to help you make the most of your time here.

Visiting Alaska for the first time? This is your starting point! The visitor center is a log cabin with brochures and printouts inside that give tips for all activities in Alaska such as the available campgrounds, trails, and the best spots for fishing. You'll find information here about getting a fishing license, berry picking, and foraging. There is also a warm fireplace with comfortable chairs to sit in inside.
Kara Rutherford
Very friendly and helpful with ideas for our visit. They also have post cards you can mail out right there.
Jim Avery
Long walk whichever direction you go. It's best to fly.
Joseph Shagalow
Quaint little Information Center in the heart of downtown covered in pretty flowers. Nice picture spot. Benches around to sit in nice weather.

There is so much to see, explore and discover in Alaska, there is no other state that can compare to AK.
Lance Deveraux
Plenty of information. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable too.
Volle Kanne
Helpful information, useful map to walk around. A bit unsafe area in front of the visitor center. Parking (limited to 2h) available for a few cars also in front of the viditor Center. Film about the Earth Quake from 1964 a must.
Wendy Kaye Dial
It is a great visitor center. Located downtown Anchorage. They gave a lot of free pamphlets on the activities in the area. They have a shuttle bus that takes you to and from the zoo for free.
Jennifer C
Very informative. They have brochures on places by region around the state. They have some items to purchase as well
