We just returned from a 15 day Alaska trip which Alaska Tours planned for us and we couldn’t be happier! We had a very adventure-filled itinerary, encompassing 5 major locations and requiring attention to a multitude of details. I can honestly say that we felt well prepared for what each day brought and how to navigate for each activity and side trip we had scheduled. We initially worked with Kimberly, who customized our itinerary after finding out our “must-see’s” and our level of adventure-seeking, preferences on accommodations, etc. She did a superb job putting our dream trip together, and the legwork this company did for us was just flawless. I normally plan our trips in the lower 48, but never having been to Alaska, this one was beyond me. I will always be grateful to Alaska Tours for arranging this trip of a lifetime!

Our party of 7 adults and 3 teenagers took the Denali and Glacier Experience in mid-July and we loved the trip. The hotel in Anchorage was just two blocks from the train station and a half mile walk to downtown shopping and restaurants with the hotel shuttle available if we didn't want to walk. The hotel in Denali had shuttle service to the park and restaurants as well as a good onsite restaurant. The Phillips 26 Glacier tour in Whittier was amazing and was our favorite part of the trip. We saw lots of sea otters and sea lions as well as some harbor seals, and a humpback whale. The food and service was excellent and the narration was entertaining and informative. The train ride to and from Whittier was also very nice. We took the motor coach from Anchorage to Denali but opted for the train from Denali back the Anchorage and would highly recommend paying extra to take the train. The motor coach ride was a bit faster but the train offers much nicer scenery and the opportunity to get up and move around. The wilderness tour into Denali was really fun as we had an excellent driver/narrator. We also hiked around Horseshoe lake after the tour, which I would definitely recommend. The trip required a lot of travel time, but it was worth it to take in everything we were able to do in just six days.

Such an amazing day on the river with 1Alaskatours.com. Tyson was the best guide, he helped us all to not only understand the river but to learn to fly fish and how to look for the best spots. We never felt rushed or that we were putting him out, even when we got our lines tied up. The company was on time and very professional. I would recommend that if you are coming to Fairbanks you should book a fishing trip with 1AlaskaTours.com, I would recommend the full day, you will not want to quit at the half day. Your family will thank you.

All Alaska Tours are fantastic! They do everything except for the driving and flying. They arrange all the aspects of the tour. The communication with them is great. They provide detailed itineraries which cover step by step for the entire journey. They are easily reachable whenever needed. If something is delayed or canceled, which can happen because of weather, they provide any adjustments right away. Great job! Highly recommended. We had a fantastic trip to Alaska.

Booked 3 days Northern Lights tour with Alaska Tours. I had a great experience. The tour guides very polite and enthusiastic. Every tour started on time. The tour cars were comfortable. They had us stay at Marriott which was close to many restaurants. The tour price was very reasonable.I would definitely recommend it to any one who wants to visit Alaska.

I booked a 3 day/2 night Denali package. The tour was well organized (although the hotel was a bit chaotic) and we knew where to be for the components. We originally booked (5 months ahead)the Denali Bluffs, but when we got the confirmation, they had changed us to the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. Although the Princess Lodge is larger with a lot of amenities, we had really wanted the bluffs, so this was disappointing. They were also sold out on the morning Denali tour so we had to go in the afternoon. Everything went as advertised.

Our guide for the turnaround turnagain tour was great! He grew up in AK and gave us a lot of good info about the area. He was also fun to be around and willing to improvise during our tour. He let us stop for photo ops where appropriate and did his best to find animals in their natural habitats and point them out to us. When we got to the height of the sky tram he left everyone to do their own thing for a while but when he found me lost and unsure of what to do he helped me find the best views for my photos! When we went to the animal reserve the snow was so thick that he walked in front of me to create a path so I wouldn’t slip. There were only 2 other people on the tour with me and the company did a perfect job at keeping us socially distanced in and out of the van. Our guide wore his mask the whole time which made us feel very secure. We were only in town for a couple days and I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see a lot of Anchorage in a short amount of time.

Gitte customized a road trip that was perfect for us. She tweaked things based on our input until it was just right. All of the lodging was superb and we had just enough time to explore each area. We had a little weather snafu and Gitte even took care of us by getting us lodging in a safer area. I am beyond pleased!

We booked the trip to Nome -- This was how we like to travel. The tour included the flight to Nome, the hotel and a car rental. We were on our own for the 3 days, but it was very easy to get a ride from the Nome airport to the car rental office. The only hiccup we had was that we were booked in the OTHER Dredge #7 than what was shown on the itinerary, but that was easily solved. The Nome Visitor Center was VERY helpful -- Leon is fantastic!!! We drove all of the roads -- to Teller, to Council and to the Kougarok river. It was nice to be on our own exploring. The people of Nome are super friendly. We were able to do things on our own time at our own pace. I must also recommend Pingo's Bakery and Restaurant -- that is a gem, right there. and Mariyuska's store -- also very recommended. If you want to get off the beaten path and are OK with being on your own, I highly recommend this trip. The views are spectacular, the bird-watching is amazing, musk ox are everywhere .... and gold-mining history is everywhere you look. My husband and I fell a little bit in love with Nome.

I can't say enough good things about Alaska Tours. They are simply an outstanding travel company! My wife and I are both seniors and having lived in Anchorage for as year as an 11 year old, I wanted to show my wife Alaska by driving, rather than taking a bus or boat tour. I did a lot of searching for a travel company which did more than just the standard tours. I wanted the flexibility of driving in my own stomping ground from decades ago. I searched for quite awhile for a company which could assist me by planning a road tour and I eventually contacted Betsy Beardsley with Alaska Tours. She was a great help by creating an excellent travel plan. This is a local Alaskan company and they really know the territory! She devised the perfect plan for us for our twelve day tour. All of the expenses, except for airfare from Denver to Anchorage, food and gas. Travel arrangements were made which included staying in hotels and cabins in Anchorage, Denali Village (near the entrance to Denali National Park), Talkeetna, Seward, and Homer. She also suggested the bus tour of Denali National Park, a five hour cruise at the Kenai Fjords National Park (Seward), a day cruise from Homer to Seldovia across Kachemak Bay. The highlight of the trip was a small plane flight by a pilot/guide from Homer to the unspoiled wilderness of Katmai National Park. After we landed we saw some huge Alaskan Brown bears. This was the most amazing travel experience of our lives! It would have been very difficult to plan this 1,800 mile trip on our own, dealing with all the reservations, etc. Everything went smoothly. Betsy prepared the itinerary and the vouchers for us with all of the details. The car rental was at the Anchorage airport which was an added convenience. This was an amazing well planned and hassle free trip at an affordable cost. Betsy is very creative and flexible as a travel planner and she listens to your needs intently. We will definitely use Alaska Tours if we travel to Alaska again!

Alaska tours is the best! I contacted them about my interest in taking a trip to Alaska with my college age son. I did not want to go on a cruise or feel like a "tourist" on this trip. I told them what we wanted to do, the dates and my approximate budget. Within two days they sent me a personal, customized itinerary that included every single activity, all within my budget! We captured the most beautiful photos of the Aurora Borealis, went dog sledding, snowmobile riding deep into the woods, walked among the ice peaks of the Matanuska Glacier, soaked in natural hot springs and ended our trip with fun, food and Christmas in Anchorage. I will return to Alaska many more times in the future, and every trip I take will be created and customized by Alaska Tours!

We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Alaska and going to Fairbanks, Coldfoot, and Wiseman. Everyone on the staff was informative and nice. Loved the people in the cafe truck stop. We really enjoyed meeting Jack in Wiseman. Full of information & we loved hearing about how he & his wife live in Wiseman. Our primary goal was to see Aurora and maybe some animals as a Bucket List trip. Although both of those things are natural occurrences and totally dependent on the conditions, we can't help feel disappointed. We researched best times & locations. Once you get your airfare & hotel reservations, it's difficult to cancel. We went as far north as we could in Coldfoot, then on to Wiseman, no Aurora for 2 nights out until 2am. That was physically hard because we never stay up that late, but we really wanted to try to see Aurora. Then, we took the Artic Safari van ride up to the Brooks Range & for the entire ride only saw one group of 5 caribou. AGAIN, we acknowledge these are natural phenomena, but still disappointing for us. We have been on other excursions in many places where the company cancels a trip if the conditions are not optimal. Maybe this could be considered.

I booked a tour to the Arctic circle on the famed Dalton Highway for November 29. Kimberley was extremely helpful with information and the booking formalities. She was available to answer any questions I had. Everything went as planned on the day of the tour. Our tour guide and driver, Mel, was amazing - very knowledgeable and put safety first. Despite dangerous conditions, I got to experience everything I came for, including the northern lights! Dallas, the person who drove me back to Fairbanks after the Aurora viewing was great too. Highly recommend Northern Alaska Tour company if you intend to travel with complete peace of mind.

This vacation was the best vacation ever! Everything was well coordinated and everything was laid out for us in an itinerary. The Borealis Basecamp was great. We were there 3 nights and saw the Northern Lights 2 of the 3 nights. There were very fun things for us to do during the day. Snowmobiling, dog sledding were the things we did but there was much more to do. We would recommend Alaska Tours to anyone and we would definitely contact them for a future Alaska trip.

It was perfect. Great hotel. Absolutely loved the Borealis Basecamp. We met some amazing people who worked there. The food there was extremely pricy so just be aware. Unfortunately the snow didn’t allow us to see the Aurora Borealis during our trip and it broke my heart, but I will be back and definitely use Alaska Tours. Didn’t have a single issue and that’s refreshing. It was easy to book. Easy to access once there. They did all the transportation planning and everything. Thank you!!!

This was a great a find. I am grateful Google brought this up. They took care of everything from day 1 to the last day. I got the cheno hot spring package and I was very happy with it. I will definitely be using their services again in the future. I give this a 98% ONLY because food isn't included but during covid thats a good thing. But just to be clear overall this is an amazing company and customer service specifically Gitte was AMAZING.
