Great Company to work with! This was our first trip to Alaska and we had ZERO bumps with lodging, excursions, or rental car. They were communicative, helpful and always kind with the many questions we had. We took a road trip from Anchorage-Seward-Denali and had many hotels and excursions we needed to check in with on our trip. We never felt rushed or like we were going to miss a check in or something else. Karlyn coordinated everything so perfectly. We had a blast!

Very nice bus, great views from Anchorage to Seward.. Put your cruise ship travel tag on your bags and they will deliver to the ship for you! My only gripe was the incessant commentary from the driver. Just be quiet and drive. Every conversation was interrupted by the loudspeaker. Couldn’t just relax. The commentary lasted for the entire 3 hour trip. Ugh….

My buddy and I took a vacation to Alaska and after buying our airline tickets found out there were no rental cars available in Anchorage! I did some searching and found Alaska Tour and Travel and they set us up with everything we needed. We did the Glacier and Wildlife Day Tour by Van tour with Lori as our guide. What a blast! We got a cruise tour to the Portage Glacier, Went to Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and saw animals being healed or in a program to reintroduce them to the wilds of Alaska . Next we took a six-hour bus ride to Denali and were there for five days. We returned to Anchorage by train on the Wilderness Express. What a beautiful train ride! Did not miss our rental car at all.

Our week long trip to Alaska was excellent. We used Alaska Tour and Travel and I think everyone in our group was impressed with how smoothly every step in the process went. I worked with Tyler getting everything set up and he was extremely helpful. On the trip itself, everything was already planned out so there was nothing to stress about. We booked about 70% of our first trip to Alaska using Alaska Tour and Travel and things were absolutely seamless. We were able to really customize our plans and even had to make a couple changes as we filled in the other 30% of our trip without any hassle. We were a little worried about the quality vs value of the tours but they were great! Easy check in at the hotels, easy transportation between excursions. Highly recommend!

We used Alaska Tour and Travel to put together the custom trip of our dreams. The company, especially Karlyn, was very responsive and answered all of our detailed questions while planning the trip. When the day came to leave for Alaska, we wondered if the trip would really go as well as it appeared to be planned, and we were not disappointed; rather, we were surprised beyond expectation!! For 10 days we traveled throughout the state and never encountered one issue with reservations, etc. The trip was so well planned that we even received emails from each excursion vendor prior to our scheduled date/time with the details of the activities. Our credit cards were on file with the hotels, etc. and we were never asked to show proof of anything or pay for anything except gratuities, which were well-deserved due to such excellent experiences. We highly recommend this tour company and will definitely use them in the future!

I was amazed at how perfectly our trip came together. Alaska Tour and Travel had the perfect tour for us, a little tweaking and it was a done deal. I didn't think it could go any smoother, especially when we were told most people book their Alaska trips a year in advance and we started planning only two to three months ahead. We were SO looking forward to this trip. 24 hours before our flight was scheduled to fly out of Denver I got online to check in. CANCELED! That's right, our flight had been canceled. We called the airlines and they said they sent an email a couple of days before, but we received no email. I got a hold of Alaska Tour and Travel because we were not going to meet our scheduled tour. I was told to let them know ASAP when we could get a flight out, which turned out to be 3 days later. On short notice they were able to redesign our trip with everything that was part of the original tour. We ended up having to upgrade one of the train rides to Gold Star in order to make everything work, but I couldn't be happier it worked out that way. Gold Star is the way to go. They provide a complete written itinerary to download and print out so you know exactly where you need to be at what time for every step of the trip. In short, I don't tell anyone about our great trip to Alaska without mentioning Alaska Tour and Travel.

All aspects of Alaska Tour's involvement with the trip were absolutely flawless, from planning through execution. I booked a seven day tour for me and my son as a high school graduation present. Never having been to AK, I had no confidence I could plan myself. From the beginning, Karlyn and Brittany were responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. I was a little worried because the planning part went so smoothly...I had my fingers crossed that the ladies knew what they were doing. And they did, because we didn't have one glitch throughout 7 days, 3 modes of travel, 6 excursions and 5 hotels changes! The company provides transportation on well-maintained motorcoaches between some stops, and even had workers watch our luggage when there was a layover for lunch in Anchorage on the way to Seward. I highly recommend the company if you want to take the stress out of traveling and you just want to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Not only was the ride smooth and engaging but they were able to get our luggage delivered straight to our ship (and were patient with me when it looked like my luggage was lost but it wasn't) Excellent people to work with. We had a wonderful experience touring alaska, thanks to alaska tour and travels. Everything was planned perfectly from initial airport pickup to drop off. The precise coordination between multiple agencies here working with Alaska tours is something I have not experienced before. Here is just an example. On one of the days our glacier cruise in Seward was between 1130- 530. Our return train to anchorage was at 6. I thought it was too close given that we had some bags to first pick up from the hotel and then rush to the trains station after we get off from the cruise. But as it turns out the cruise company had our bags checked into the train. All we had to do was walk to the train station about 10 mins away. The boarding pass was waiting for us and we had 15 mins to spare! This is just one example. Alll through the 5 days, things were so wonderfully coordinated between the hotels, train, park recreation services - it allowed us to squeeze so many things into these few days.

Wow! We designed the trip to suit us and visited more areas of Alaska than the average tourist. We were even able to travel on our own with a rental vehicle so that we could travel at our own pace and on our own schedule.

Worked with Renea to plan and customize my trip. She did an excellent job and was very responsive to my calls/emails as we worked out all of the travel details. I had several issues with the Denali Princess Lodge through no fault of Alaska Tour & Travel. First issue was when I checked in their records did not reflect that the room had been paid for in advance. I called Alaska Tour & Travel as soon as I got to my room and they immediately contacted the Lodge and resolved the issue. The second issue was Denali Princess Lodge did not deliver my luggage to the Alaska Railroad. The luggage had a red tag that reflected “Anchorage” in all caps and “Alaska Railroad”. I called Alaska Tour & Travel as soon as I got to Anchorage and left a message and emailed Renea that my luggage was missing. Renea called me first thing in the morning to get the details and assure me that they would start the search. She kept in touch each day with updates on their progress. Roberta, a staff member, picked me up from downtown and took me shopping for replacement clothes, gave me a suitcase to use on my trip to Seward, and dropped me off at the hotel. Roberta was nice and friendly. I enjoyed shopping with her. Was assured that if my luggage was not found before I returned to Virginia she would take me shopping again if I needed it. The president of Alaska Tour & Travel even went to the Princess headquarters in Anchorage to keep the pressure on for them to find my luggage. They all made calls and even went to the Railroad depot the next night to see if it was on that train. Days later when I was returning to Anchorage from Seward, Princess finally found my luggage on a Princess cruise ship in Ketchikan. Renea called me that morning to let me know that it was found and being flown to Anchorage and would be delivered to me the next day. Later that evening the Princess baggage management office called with the same information. Stating they had found my luggage and other missing luggage. I really appreciated Renea’s call that morning because it relieved a lot of stress on the return trip. The Princess baggage manager delivered my luggage about 1pm. It still had the red tag that reflected “Anchorage” in all caps and “Alaska Railroad” attached. I shared all of my pain/stress with baggage manager. Alaska Tour & Travel personal did an outstanding job of assisting me get through my issues and going above and beyond by taking me shopping. I never felt at any time like I did not have their full support. Would definitely recommend their company!

Overall we had a good experience booking with Alaska Tour they offered flexibility on itinerary many activities all were good, Wilderness Train excellent, food was great on train, Booking staff did not have actual experience which is a negative do not stay in Denali at the Grande Denali Lodge this is terrible the other lodges would be a better choice.

Incredibly impressed! From the moment I got to the Alaskan Museum pick up point, the young woman and young man who were stationed there immediately offered to help. Before I knew if I was even in the right place they were helping me with my luggage and from there they continued to answer all my dumb questions. When my husband and I decided to take a trip to Alaska, I was overwhelmed by where to begin planning the trip! I got online and was immediately drawn to Alaska Tour & Travel. I e-mailed their office and was quickly connected with Renae. I told her the different things we wanted to see and do, and within minutes I received an itinerary! After a few tweaks to the itinerary, we were all set up! I was so relieved and felt confident that the trip planned was exactly what we wanted. As soon as we landed in Anchorage, we contacted our hotel. Within minutes, the shuttle pulled up and we were whisked away to our hotel. The hotel was clean and the employees were friendly and helpful. We took the train tour from Anchorage to Denali. We were a little disappointed with the number of stops our train made. We would often see the highway from the train, which wasn’t the scenery we wanted to see. After we got off the train in Denali, there were buses at the ready to take us to our hotel. That was so stress-free. They even loaded and unloaded our luggage for us and brought our luggage to our rooms. The next day, we took a bus tour of Denali Park. Our bus driver, Krista, was extremely knowledgeable and made every attempt to stop the bus if we wanted to take photos of wildlife. I think we saw everything we hoped to see.....moose, bears, sheep, etc. The next day, we took an airplane ride from Talkeetna to the Denali mountains. That was amazing! Our pilot couldn’t have been

Alaska was spectacular! Our tour started in Anchorage...a very informative trip to the museum started off a great day....highly interesting..make sure you go to the cafe!!! ....comfortable bus trip to Denali arrived at Denali Bluffs hotel..great service no hassle getting to our room...dinner at the hotel very nice and convenient ... great bed and off to sleep. The next day was great...a 13 hour bus tour of Denali Park covering ALL of the Park...moose, eagles,bears in the distance, and the most gorgeous scenery we have EVER witnessed ! We went to bed exhausted....Day 3 back to Anchorage on the train. So relaxing..the views were just as beautiful as the day before. Lunch on the way was great,service and food was above the best! Arrived very relaxed...Comfort Inn was very nice had a very good early flight home(6::00 am) so had no time to enjoy facilities. Would we do this tour again....Of course, but our next choice would be taking it pre-cruise not post-cruise!!!! Being seniors(75), we were tired from the cruise so the tour was a bit exhausted for us.

Alaska Tour and Travel did a wonderful job of organizing and taking the worry about visiting Alaska. Our itinerary was all laid out, our tickets were in order and we never had to worry about when & where to catch a shuttle to any of our events. Our only disappointment was that we weren't able to take the Denali flight, but that was due to weather which Alaska Tour & Travel couldn't control, even as good as they are. We were refunded the cost of the flight without problems. If you're not sure what to see in Alaska, use Alaska Tour & Travel. They are very friendly, helpful, and accommodating.

We used this company to book a train ride to Denali and a motorcoach ride back to Anchorage. Our interaction with the customer service reps told us this was going to be an excellent trip. Both trips were comfortable, accommodating and the way to go! The Wilderness Express is worth every penny. Our tour guide, Trish, was sharp, funny and kind. The food was wonderful; try the reindeer sausage! Our motorcoach return trip was also the way to go. Our driver stopped for a few wild life sightings and gave some informative talks about areas we passed through. Overall, much better than renting a car because you don't have to drive and the scenery is too epic to miss!

I can not say enough good things. Everything from the excellent information about available excursion for the different parts of Alaska to the quick responsiveness for getting quotes and answering questions. Although, I do not end up booking a complete package through Alaska Tour & Travel (only because my family is quite particular and many of the packages didn’t meet our needs). However, I did use AkT&T for several different excursions and our train tickets, which were less than booking through Alaska Railroad directly. If you are looking for a deal on some gret Alaska tour travel package I recommend checking out their website and packages first, often even their individual (a la carte) pricing was better then I found anywhere else. And trust me, I searched everywhere, it took me over 2 years to plan and book our two week trip. :-)

We used the Park Connection Bus to get from Seward to Anchorage in June. Representatives meet us as we got off the cruise ship and guided us to our free city shuttle to get to bus station. The bus was a large coach with comfortable seats and bathroom. When the staff heard my daughter panic when they realized they left their passports on the ship, the bus driver quickly acted. He contacted the ship and made arrangements to get the passports sent to us at our hotel in Anchorage. Crisis averted. The drive was enjoyable with occasional narration from the driver as to history and sites of the area. When we arrived at our downtown drop off at the museum, the staff there also overheard us trying to get a cab to our hotel, they called for us and everything was taken care of. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond. Thank you!

We had 2 weeks of bad weather so that clearly affects the impression. Tyler who made the itinerary was very patient and helpful: great guy. Descriptions were a little too enthusiastic, many activities were rather bland ( train from Anchorage to Denali and to White pass. River rafting) On several days there was a short activity then nothing to do until the next day. We were interested in photography and the one opportunity to do any in Denali was in a very crowded bus with little access to windows and no ability to get out of the bus "for safety reasons"! Nevertheless, they did a good job to try to match our time with available activities.

He pointed out cool sites along the way, including where to see salmon spawning, a pod of beluga whales, and he stopped at the Potter Marsh boardwalk to let us stretch our legs and do some bird watching.

They had planned our 6 days tour , they also arrange hotels , however planning could have been better, as our activities got over in morning and then we will wait rest of the day doing nothing, or we will travel to one place and then wait for 6 hrs for next activities like ziplining. This is the Alaska Travel/Tour company you want. We picked a vacation package and tweaked it to our desires. Every detail was taken care of and the trip went without a hitch. They booked all the lodging, train, bus, and excursions. You may be able to save a few bucks doing it yourself. Here's what they take care of: places you stay at are nice and provide shuttles to/from airport, train, hotel or the excursion. Or the trip/tour picks you up at the hotel. The times line up; meaning you won't miss something (train, excursion, etc. ) because something was running long/late. Here's what I saw by people saving money "doing it themselves ". A lady arrived at the train station to find the train she needed was sold out. "What? I called and was told I didn't need reservations. My whole trip is ruined!" I saw a guy at the Kantishna Roadhouse deep in Denali all bent out of shape because his DIY booked Kantishna Air Taxi Flight arrived back in Denali too late to do the whitewater rafting trip he had scheduled and already paid for!" I saw families at the train station trying to get transportation to a hotel they booked at that didn't offer shuttle service pick up. This Will not happen if a good tour company that knows the ins/outs takes care of you. Every place we went expected us. Hotels had the reservations, trains had us on the list, airplane charters had us on the manifest. No problems! If you take the train, upgrade to Goldstar Dome. Well worth the comfort, the perks (meals/cocktails) excellent views. I made one reservation with Alaska Tour and Travel. They mailed me an accurate day-by-day itinerary and all vouchers. Painless. They know the Alaska companies/businesses to use-great reputations, customer service, reliability etc. the companies they use know Alaska Tour and Travel customers, meaning if they disappoint a customer, they're disappointing a string of future customers.
