This was an absolutely amazing experience. Scott Collins was our Pilot and he did an absolutely amazing job and was very personable. He landed beautifully in the middle of a T intersection and the Chase Crew was right there making sure the landing went well. It's a fabulous adventure and I'd recommend it to anyone. Oh, you also get a great reason to drink at 9 am... it's a Tradition.

Highly recommend riding with world balloon! I had the pleasure of riding with pilot Mike and he was nothing short of amazing! Very personable, funny, and most importantly made us feel safe. Everything about the experience was beyond my expectations. They don’t just take you in the air but they give you some history on hot air ballooning and you’re even given a nice crisp mimosa upon landing. Hopefully I get to bring some friends back with me so they can have as great of an experience as I did.

This experience was perfection from beginning to end! Everyone was friendly and hilarious - the whole crew was engaging and helpful. Riding in a hot air balloon is a spiritual experience in its own right but combining it with such a professional company was really special. We spent about 1 hr and 20 minutes in the air and maybe 20 minutes in the champagne toast with a history lesson on flying that we enjoyed. Our visit to Albuquerque was kicked off fantastically by our balloon ride with World Balloon! Murray, our pilot, was personable, funny, informative, skilled and a delight to fly with. The rest of the crew was also wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly as well. We got up in the air at sunset and the view was incredible. It was neat to see the neighborhoods from above and I got a kick out of all the people that waved as we passed by as well, as the waterways and landscapes. Made for excellent photos. The price was reasonable and Murray made sure we got over an hour of airtime. One of my partner’s bucket list item was finally hit and I’m happy to have had it through this company. Would love to do this again if we find ourselves in NM again!

These guys are the best! Their pricing is very reasonable compared to another bigger company that has apparently been buying smaller ones out in the area. Also, their customer service is par to none. They are truly the best. A truly enjoyable experience. We dealt with the sweetest lady Leslie while booking, greeted by smiling Julie on the day of our flight, and were piloted by knowledgeable Scott. They were all wonderful people, corteous, polite, and very welcoming. They have been in business for more than 30 years, and they truly know their stuff. They are locally grounded, and not a corporate monster company with one-size fits-all mentality. They truly cater to the whole experience. They are professional, well-trained, accredited, and always safety first. I believe they are a family owned business, so they put their hearts and souls into their craft. It was such a pleasure to have picked their company. The flight was perfect without a hitch. In our case, we ended up in the air for almost 2 hours, which is double what the average flight normally is. This was due to wind currents picking up and taking us away from a safe landing at first. But there were no issues or turbulence, it was smooth and enjoyable the whole time. Scott just made sure we landed at a safe location whenever we did. It was a joy ride to be up there longer and interact with him and learn some stories about hot air ballooning. At the end, they provided mimosas, pastries, and a brief historical account about Hot Air Balloons while they handed out our certificates of flight. I can't thank them enough for making this a memorable first-time experience for my daughter and I. Recommended and I will plan on returning again. If you read this, don't think twice, they are definitely your go to guys!

My mom turns 79 this year and this was on her bucket list. World Balloon did an outstanding job securing our safety and making this a lifetime memory. Our pilot was professional and cordial. What a great experience flying with World Ballon! They take safety seriously. We had to reschedule because our original flight date was too windy. When we did get to fly we saw the ballon get assembled. We flew over the Rio Grande and got close enough over the water that we could scoop it with a ladle. We saw the sunrise over the Sandia Mountains. We flew up to 8,000ft in the air. Not once did we feel unsafe during the whole flight. The pilot during the whole time gave us backstories and facts about abq, hot air ballooning, the flight and etc during the whole flight. I highly recommend FYI. You may need a sweater in the beginning but once in the basket it gets warm. You land wherever the winds takes you. In our case we landed in a construction zone lol. Also the landing can get bumpy. ;)

What an experience this was! Of course checking off a hot air balloon ride on the bucket list was awesome, but the experience with World Balloon was amazing from the start. An absolutely amazing experience! Besides the fantastic flight and excellent piloting, Murray and his crew are endlessly entertaining, with jokes, routines, stories, and the cutest dog! I haven't experienced any of the other ballooners in the area, but I can't imagine any better experience than this one, and the price is just right too. It's so clear the pride and joy that the team takes in sharing this unique experience with the world. I HIGHLY recommend! We! Are! FLYING! Even after the flight and drinks, my wife and I were talking with Murray. We were having trouble with our car rental and when Murray heard how much we were spending taxiing from place to place he immediately offered us a ride to our next destination (in the van, not the balloon!). These are some truly great people.

Same post from Yelp— Over 10 years ago I made a decision that I wanted to try a hot air balloon. The opportunity never presented itself. I just so happen to come to NM for a church event and the Hatch Chili Festival. When I went to retrieve my luggage I saw the flyer for World Balloon and knew it my was my moment of opportunity. I called when I arrived at the Hotel and spoke with Leslie, she was super kind, even offered dinning suggestions in Albuquerque. Fast forward to Labor Day (ironically they were open). I had a Balloon ride of my life time! Our pilot Murray was the best, funny and told a great story at the end. If you love dogs you will love Lulu the Great Dane who loves to help at the end of each flight. If your nervous or afraid just don’t think about it, just try it. You will see a sunset worth more then money can buy. My promise to you is from beginning to end it will memorable. Cant wait for another trip at the Balloon Festival. #SeeYouThere

Owners Jim and Murray have the hot air balloon experience perfected! I would fly with Murray any day, he's a wealth of information and a very experience pilot. You can feel how much Murray loves hot air balloons. He shared his history of crewing for a pilot in high school (with his now wife who's so nice and friendly working checking riders in) to becoming a pilot and owning the company. Murray knew his stuff and delivered all the safety information we needed while keeping us laughing (or guessing) with his well timed and plentiful jokes. We're still talking about the jokes hours later. We also got fantastic photos taken by Murray and posted to Facebook for our downloading convenience. He gave us our stats at the end and a map of where we went. We learned jargon like a balloon kiss and tickling toes as well as history of ballooning which started in 1783. Did you know dogs hate balloons and bark at them? Us either. We even learned why they fly with a bottle of champagne and drink it after the ride. World Ballooning is definitely not the B team of ballooning. They have rapport with each other as well as trust and respect. They interject jokes and have amazing timing. They're skilled and efficient, which increases your comfort with landing. Join World Balloons on a flight and learn while peacefully relaxing, floating in the sky.

While we were in the air, we got a chance to see all of the balloons launching at the Hot Air Balloon Festival. The entire team was not only professional, but friendly and funny. SPECTACULAR!!!! From booking to landing! We had Murray, he is super energetic and so knowledgeable. Anything you want to know or didn’t even know you wanted to know about hot air balloons or Albuquerque he can answer. He keeps you entertained with his comical humor from start to finish! With World Ballon you get a 2 for 1….. a hot air balloon ride and a comedy show all in one! When you get back to the meeting spot he has some snacks and beverages set out (a nice add) and then tells some more great stories before parting ways. If you ever thought about it, think no more…..JUST DO IT!!!! And also don’t be fooled about the price. Yes , it is cheaper than the main competitor but it won’t be long until he is the competitor! Read the other reviews and let those speak for themselves! Take the ride and you undoubtedly will see so for yourself!!! Also, his wonderful wife and 4 legged kid is there working too and you can’t leave out the crew members as it can’t be done without all of them and they’re equally great! OUR FIRST hot air balloon ride and it was TERRIFIC! Murray was our pilot, he and the crew were very informative and had a great sense of humor which kept all the passengers calm. My husband is deathly afraid of heights and didn't even realize when we left the ground. If you are reading this, you must be considering riding in a hot air balloon. I can say, without hesitation, you need to go with World Balloon in Albuquerque. This was my first flight. This company is absolutely amazing in every step of the process. When you call, Leslie will answer any questions and address all concerns you may have. She even has great suggestions on other things to do in the area while you are there. The entire flight crew was so sweet and so helpful sharing information on how the process works, how they got started, etc. You really feel their love for what they do. I was concerned about being able to get in and out of the balloon. They made it a breeze and not awkward at all. You get mimosas after the flight and even a certificate with your name on it showing you completed your first flight. Murray is an amazing pilot. The flight was very smooth. Please, don’t hesitate. Check this off your bucket list. Book with World Balloon. You will not regret it.

Our first flight with World Balloon! Hef was a great pilot, very knowledgeable of our surroundings and shared lots of interesting facts. It was a great flight. 2 things, though - 6 adults on one side of the balloon was REALLY tight, and 2 of those adults were even pretty small. Also, I've been on other flights where the pilot takes us up SUPER HIGH which is always my favorite part, but we stayed low the whole flight- they should go up really high at least once!

The total experience was 5 stars. I don't know how it could have been better. We're a bit advanced in years and some of us were concerned about getting in and out of the basket. The support staff and our pilot were very helpful in that regard no problems at all. Our pilot showed off his advanced skill level by landing us on a little narrow two tracker dirt road in a field of sage, a nice soft touchdown with easy access for the support crew.

This experience was more than worth the money! This was a magical trip and our humorous and knowledgable captain, Murray, made it an absolute delight. The rest of the crew were equally delightful and entertaining. We were off the ground well before the "B team" competitors-- see photos... I was really, really hoping to skim the Rio Grande and we did!!! We glided inches above the water and Murray assured us they do this every trip if they can. I was thankful for Murray's quick history of ballooning which explained the champagne breakfast tradition! World Balloon was the final stop on our honeymoon and my wife and I could not have been happier we chose that as our last activity before heading back to reality. Murray was our pilot and he was AMAZING! The ride was everything I was hoping for as far as beauty but I was not expecting to enjoy the commentary and conversations with our pilot. Murray is very funny, very witty and has great stories to keep you entertained for the duration of your flight. Not that you need it with all the beauty around you on top of the experience itself of being over 9000 feet in the air in a hot air balloon but it was a very nice bonus that ended up being the best part of the flight believe it or not. I would not hesitate to go back and fly with them again sometime in the future. If safety is a concern for you, all of the professionals wore masks the entire time and the other guests did so as well. The basket is also partitioned with plastic to keep the different groups separated for the most part. At no time did I feel unsafe either from Covid or just the flying in general. Stay away from all the "B Teams" in Albuquerque. Do yourself a favor and book with these guys. You won't regret it!

Professional, relaxing, and stunning! That’s the best way to describe my trip with World Balloon today. A hot air balloon ride has been on my bucket list for many years. While visiting Albuquerque, my sister and I signed up for the champagne ride with World Balloon. Our pilot, Heff, was engaging, knowledgeable, humorous, and quickly calmed my nerves. The ride was so lovely, the landing was a bit rough due to the winds picking up at just that moment. But Heff was a true pro and handled it beautifully! If you've ever thought you'd like to take a balloon ride, but have a fear of heights, or have had motion sickness in the past, don't let those fears stop you. I almost did, and am so glad that we chose World Balloon. They are pros and see to it that all are enjoying themselves.

World Balloon is hands down awesome! Murray “the owner and lead pilot” booked our flight over the phone the day prior to our flight. He was very helpful, answered all of our questions, and was very nice! We had Mike Heffron aka “Hef” as our pilot. He made the experience awesome! He was sooooo patient, polite, answered all of the questions, and just fun! He took us for a “toe tickler” over the cottonwoods before we went for a “splash and dash” which we were the only balloon that morning to go over the Rio Grande cause of his patience. The flight was pleasant and peaceful. Watching the sunrise over the Sandia’s MTN was amazing. Hef told us a lot of facts about Albuquerque and the surrounding areas The landing was smooth and soft thanks to Hef and his abilities and skills! The chase crew was very nice and respectful and fun as well. Overall the experience was one we will never forget and we would go again in a heartbeat if we find ourselves in Albuquerque!

Our pilot was so great. The tour he gave us of the area was so detailed and he was clearly a master at operating a balloon. From start to finish, this was a great experience. I used a Groupon, no problem. I like these guys a little better than Rainbow Ryders... World Balloon is scrappier, has a great sense of humor, was less expensive, and I like that I could meet them directly at the lift off site instead of driving to their headquarters and then being bused to the balloon site. I wish I had worn waterproof shoes because we kissed the Rio Grande and the basket filled with a half inch of water.

We were visiting from out of town. Top notch group of guys. They were very personable and made the flight very fun but took their jobs seriously. Murray was a great pilot. Total flight time was an hour. Murray rotates the basket so everyone could get great photos of the sunrise over the mountains. He also posted photos, videos and GPS tracks on Facebook for us to download at no extra charge. Someone in our basket had a birthday and he made the day extra special for them. I would highly recommend the red white and blue balloons.

If your bucket list includes a hot air balloon ride, I HIGHLY recommend that you book with World Balloon, which is supposedly the oldest balloon company in the world. My friend and I were able to go on Sept 30, a few days before the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque started. When I booked the ride over the phone, Leslie was great - friendly and helpful, and happy to answer all of my questions and provide advice for my stay in Albuquerque, too. When the day came, communication from World Balloon was great. We received an email the night before telling us that weather conditions were going to be stable and our ride was a go for the next day. We were part of the "Second Hop," meaning that we got to ride around in a van with the "Chaser Crew" to find where the balloon landed for the first ride, and then it was our turn to go up. It was definitely exciting to ride around with the Chaser Crew, they were so nice and it was fascinating to see what they do to locate the balloon. Once we went up for our ride, our pilot, Hef, was so friendly and we had a great time and great ride. He's been doing this for decades and we felt safe the whole time. The only consideration is that you have to be able to hoist yourself up into the basket. The crew is great with assisting. Upon arrival back to the check-in site, World Balloon offered us a champagne toast and snacks. We all had smiles on our faces when we left. I definitely would recommend World Balloon for your bucket list hot air balloon ride!

TLDR: the absolute best/10 My cousin and I booked our first ever balloon ride with World Balloon, and while I imagine most balloon rides must look the same once you're in the air, the before and after experience was made just as incredible by the efforts of the people at World Balloon. We booked our flight for a Monday morning, but unfortunately due to wind conditions we could not fly. While disappointing, it was clear that their first priority is safety, and they worked with us to rebook for the following morning. We flew at the end of January, so there was only two other people on the flight with us and a three person crew (pilot and two chasers on the ground). Not only did they keep us safe, they kept us laughing! It takes quite a bit of time to launch and land, but every minute felt just as exciting as the flight itself. If you want to book a hot air balloon flight in ABQ, book it with World Balloon!

Awesome adventure! My wide and I were visiting our daughter and her family in Sandia. My daughter booked a flight for my birthday! First off I am deathly afraid of heights! So she surprised me for sure! We flew on the morning of the 14 with Scott. Nothing but professional! He made us feel like family from the moment we stepped in to the crew van! Made us laugh and put some of us at ease about flying, especially me! We got to the launch site and he immediately asked for volunteers to help in the setup. His chase crew was on point making sure everything was set up and ready to go. We all got in the basket and he gave us all the safety briefing before we launched. At this point my anxiety level was mounting. Before I knew it we were up and climbing. He answered all our questions on the way up and during our cruising altitude. So peaceful up there! My fear of heights was no longer an issue! We just enjoyed the view and the company of the other passengers. The landing was flawless! All we can say is you have to go with World Balloon! Why? Because they provide world class service and their goal is to give you a great balloon ride experience! Don’t just take our word for it! Book your ride and experience what we experienced! Talk about the coolest experience in Burque!!!! EXCELLENT! We have been traveling and having fun for 7 months now and this is now #1 on our experience list. Pilot Murray and the entire crew were absolutely amazing, making every minute fun and exciting, even letting us help with setup and pack up. The flight was totally amazing, the 360 degree views at sunrise were no less than stunning. Landing was great, getting in and out fantastic. Breakfast, mimosas and the history of balloon flight ceremony complete with flight certificates, a great ending to this beautiful experience. Special thanks to Murray and to Jim for the ride!! We didn't go on our balloon ride because my girlfriend got called into work at the last minute, but I want to tell you how courteous and thoughtful Leslie at World Balloon was about the cancellation. I called to cancel less than 12 hours before the reservation. Although she informed me she couldn't refund the money because of the short notice, she told me she would try to find a replacement and if she could, then she would refund the money. She called me back several times informing me that she was looking for a replacement, but couldn't find one. At the last minute, about 9:45 pm the night before the trip, she finally called and said she found a replacement and was happy to refund the money. Thank you so much Leslie for your thoughtfulness and consideration! We'll definitely be booking with World Balloon for our next balloon ride!

I want to start out by saying Lulu(the dog) was the icing on the cake out of the whole experience. Julie. What to say? She really put in work today. She was out there hustling and even saved me from certain doom when we crash landed into a tree. One second I'm holding on for dear life, and the next, I open my eyes and see Julie holding on to the basket, saying, "Someone get the truck!". She was authoritative when we needed her most. Quickly, her employees rushed to get the truck she ordered and she stood back and supervised. She noticed the truck wasn't enough, so she grabbed the basket herself and chucked us to safety. But there was a problem! Her shoes were muddy from all the work she put in! As the guys put the balloon away, per her orders, she was scraping mud from hers AND our shoes. No surprise if her back is sore, as she was carrying her team today. Later in the day, I saw her accept a noble peace prize on TV. A true icon. 6/5 stars, would recommend. Also, Murray was really great at story telling and entertained us the whole way up and down. He and his hardworking wife, provided drinks and snacks afterwards. 11/10

World Balloon is a fun, professional and highly organized balloon service. I was struck by the camaraderie among team member that was evident from the setting up of the balloons, through the flight, landing, putting away the balloon, the return and finally the champagne toast. The staff all seemed to like each other. The pre-flight communication was excellent via email. Normally I wouldn’t spend this much on a ride ticket but after seeing all that is needed to safely launch and fly, I thought it was money well spent. This is a top notch organization that I would highly recommend.

Amazing experience. This service is well worth the money. You get a great view, great hosting from Mike/Heff, jokes, and you get to be involved if most if not all of the process of helping in landing and packing up the hot air balloon. They also take it a further step by getting great photos of you as well as providing after flight refreshments. I felt that all my questions were answered and that everything I expected it this experience to be was that if not more. I normally wouldn't write a review for an experience I never got to have, but the way World Balloon handled the weather related cancellation was a lesson for all businesses. I came to Albuquerque mainly to knock a bucket list open off my list with my siblings - a hot air balloon ride. Due to high winds, our ride on Saturday was cancelled at another company. We scrambled and called every company in ABQ to see if they had any availability on Sunday. We were met with busy times, voice messages that were never answered, etc. World Balloon actually called me back within the hour. They actually had availability for us and immediately helped us book sand full out waivers, etc. They next morning, we arrived to the launch site, but ABQ actually got rain (if you can can it that). The World Balloon yeah didn't just say "hey, there are rain clouds, we are cancelling all rides, see ya" like the other companies. They explained the true reason was more than the rain, but the thermal pressure which would impact safety. The World Balloon team quickly realized that we were having difficulty finding an Uber driver to pick us up. Murray, one of their pilots, offered to drop us off at our hotel which was on the other side of towm. This was much more than we expected. Murray was a great conversationalist and have us a great education on hot air balloons. He has piloted over 2,000 rides in his career. He wouldn't not even accept any gratuity for his efforts. We are blown away by World Balloon's service, esp in the wake of employee shortages and lack of kindness in the world. World Balloon even called us later in rthe day to see if they can help us book another time, unfortunately we were only in town for the weekend. When we return, you better believe we will be using World Balloon and have Murray be our pilot. Thank you! Highly recommended!!

During my road trip from NY to CA, this is one of the excursion I took and it turns out to be one of the best. First of all, thanks to crew showing us the best time. This was a first experience for both my wife and I. And I must say that World Balloon did a great job. We were pleasantly greeted at the launch site which was very easy to find. The process of inflating and flying was explained very well. Our pilot, Jonathan Wright, was very experienced and made us feel very safe. The flight was fantastic with a nice drop down near the Rio Grande and then a flight out over the golf course and Petroglyph National Monument. The landing was enlightening as we came safely down into a neighborhood street. We drew a bit of a local crowd that was sort of fun. This was absolutely amazing!!! We watched the sunrise over the mountains as we flew low, and got great views of the city when we flew about 2,000 feet above the ground. Plus Murry was a hilarious pilot. We will definitely do this again

A perfect morning with pilot Murry and his crew. Other company's balloons never made it into the sky this morning, but Murray's 20 years of experience got us up and away by sunrise. His knowledge of the ABQ region made a great narrative and along with deep repertoire of jokes kept everyone laughing the whole way. Our flight was awesome with Murray and his crew. They made us laugh and we learned about the history of hot air balloons. It's an adventure you don't want to miss. We had clouds, cold weather, and snow, but we flew and it was amazing. At one point Murray asked us to look at the snow and see what it was doing, we were flabbergasted to see that the snow was going up. Then we laughed when we realized it was because we were dropping down, we had so much fun. We would love to fly with World Balloon again when we are back in town.

To be the first time was a good experience and what better place than Albuquerque the home of the Balloon Fiesta... This experience was my last day before returning to Mexico... I got to be number 2 group therefore follow the path of the balloon from the truck, maybe it was this situation that makes it impossible to see the Rio Grande from near, we got on the Balloon from the landing site... had another few balloons around us, I would have liked more photographs nearest balloons ascended from the Balloon Fiesta Park... but would need a more powerful camera lens :( It was a soft landing and helped the team to keep the balloon in the van, if it is heavy :) I hope you does not land on unpaved: ) and for the big finish my flight certificate and toast with champagne. For the first time, it was a good experience and what better place than Albuquerque, the home of the Balloon Fiesta... this experience was on my last day before returning to Mexico... I had to be in group number 2, therefore we followed the route of the balloon from the truck, perhaps it was this situation that prevented us from seeing the Rio Grande from up close because we got on the balloon from the place where it descended... there were a few other balloons around us, I would have liked to have more photographs close up of the balloons that ascended from the Balloon Fiesta Park... but you would need a more powerful camera lens.
