Where can you go and watch 648 balloons launch? A definite must see! Some things to consider are the massive amount of people, cost, parking and the weather. The weather is a big deal as wind and rain will cancel the event. My suggestion is to plan on going multiple sessions and definitely listen to the weather before going. And if it is canceled due to the weather, I would ask for tickets for the next day. The drone show is at 5:45 AM, with the balloons following at 6 AM. If you wait to get there at 5:30 AM you may be in a very long line for parking and miss the event. My suggestion is to get there at 4 AM, which gives you plenty of time to park and walk to the Event. Be prepared to walk as there is a lot of walking to be done to get to the field. Parking was $20 cash this year per session. Which is a lot of money! There is a bike path with a bike valet that is free. You can have a friend or family drop you off. Or a ride share might be less expensive. Also there is the bus drop offs from certain areas in the City. Such an amazing experience!

I didn’t know what to expect at the park for the balloon fiesta but it was awesome. I can’t say anything about parking or traffic because we walked in. We got through security fast. Everyone was friendly. Plenty of bathrooms. Only real issue was long lines for food. The price of things in the park was high but i guess to be expected. I really loved how you could get up close to balloons and chat with the pilots. Really awesome experience and pictures don’t do it justice. I would say everyone should visit the park for balloon fiesta at least once

Entire balloon fiesta was fantastic except getting into and out of the parking. It is an hour to get in and even more to get out. They do so well. With it all and charge $20 for parking. They really need to get that part put together way better. Otherwise fantastic lots to see do eat drink.

What an amazing experience! I'm so glad we went! Over 500 balloons in various shapes and sizes. You can walk right up to them and look inside as they blow air into them. Most balloonists are so friendly. Get ride up to it!

Amazing experience!! The balloon fiesta is so wonderful! It's so magnificent to see hundreds of balloons floating around. Parking is a bit tricky - don't trust the app map which routed you to quicker way, that road might be temporarily closed for the event. Just follow the guideline from the event and exit at the right place. They have staff to guide you to the right position.

Traffic - We came for the 50th anniversary balloon festival and we left our hotel which was maybe 20 or so minutes away at about 5:00 a.m. the Directions said it would be about 39 minutes. Let me tell you.... that last two and a half miles can take you like 2 and 1/2 hours. So my advice is definitely leave in the 4:00 a.m. hour for the sunrise balloon lift . No offense to the police but I feel like they could do a significantly better job directing traffic. It didn't feel like they were allowing traffic flow to go to rate that made sense. Or stopping the people who are cutting up in traffic and making it absolutely impossible to move forward. Festival - The balloon festival itself was a riot. We got lucky that we were able to actually have the weather work where we were able to watch the balloons take off. hundreds of balloons.... It was an amazing bucket list type of experience. One of the things I found unique and funny was they had the help dressed up as the Star Wars soldiers. Very family friendly. My only advice here would be that the official merchandise tents are absolutely jammed and I only noticed two of them. they could do better to have more dispersed official merchandise than they do. Friendly and helpful Festival staff lots of police presence.

Despite complicated traffic and parking, this was an amazing experience and so worth it — just think about how many people want to experience it! We loved seeing the balloons glow during the Dawn Patrol. The Special Shapes Rodeo was so much fun for kids and adults alike. We loved learning about the balloons and making awesome family memories together. We’ll be back!

Balloon Fiesta Park is a pretty nice place to go to. During the actual Balloon Fiesta, you get to see a lot of cool and interesting hot air balloons if the weather is permitting. There are a lot of vendors too for food and souvenirs. It's a great thing to see if you've never been and great for kids too. I am born and raised in Albuquerque so I've seen these balloons all my life. They're still great to see, but I personally think it's too packed with people and a bit overpriced. I also think it's a bit of a hassle to get to the park and to leave, but overall enjoyable. I would recommend going if you've never been or if you have young children.

It really is almost beyond words to describe the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. This really is one of the most spectacular things I have ever done. We have been able to "Crew" with our friends for Windrose and SUSHI. The entire festival has been tremendous and way beyond our expectations! Don't take my word for it cone see for yourself.

This was a very a well organized event. Pictures don't do this justice. It is a must see. We will certainly be back. One bit of advice is to use the "park and ride". It includes your entry tickets plus the bus ride. You avoid most of the traffic and they take you right to the entrance.

A fiesta like no other! More than 500 hot air balloons, food and art. I would recommend finding a ticket that includes a shuttle due to the number of attendees. Bring layers of clothes; mornings are colder than most anticipate.

This is a great family tradition for us. We go to the Freedom 4th as well as Balloon Fiesta every year. The fireworks show is the best in town. It’s also a great opportunity to try the unique foods that the festival has to offer! Typically there is always good music and other forms of entertainment for kids. The only downside is parking, so catching a bus is a great option for many people. The bus drops you off right at the grass. Otherwise you will need to park and hike about half a mile.

What an amazing experience! I would only suggest you grab your coffee BEFORE you head to the park, as we had to wait in long lines to get on the bus and I wasn't prepared. The vendors all had great breakfast tacos and coffee!

Great time for balloon festival! Park is clean, parking organized, and restrooms are always clean! Lots of sites I read before coming said you have to try a breakfast burrito because it's a festival tradition. Skip the burrito and eat the hot mini donuts with hot cocoa!!! It is great to see so many kids outside in having fun, so many people enjoying the same thing , and who knew so many people flew hot air balloons!! Go at least once and experience the energy yourself!

Awesome experience if the weather is good for the balloons to fly. Get there early. Parking and traffic is a headache so be ready. As for the park it’s nice and wide open with lots of space to hold large events plenty for food and beverage venders.

Pretty awesome experience. Unfortunately the night we went they didn't blow up very many balloons, I'm guessing it was too windy? Lots of delicious food (the mini donuts are awesome and the footling corn dog was one amazing). Plan to be rerouted on your drive there. This year they only have two exits off I-25, follow the signs. We tried to get around them and they block off most of the streets. You need cash for the parking and a lot of the vendors accept cash only. The firework show at the end was probably one of the best I've seen. Plus the skydivers had fireworks, which was awesome.

It was fun fiesta with alot of hot air balloon surrounding us. We went earlt around 5 am to beat the early traffic. The entry fees is $15. Mesmerising sights with more than 100 hot air balloons with live concert and other events. The parking ticket is $20 cash.

It has been about 10 years since my last balloon fiesta and it was just as amazing as I had remembered it! The weather made it a yellow flag morning- but the green flag went up and the balloons went up fast!! A must experience for everyone! I will be back for sure !

ABSOLUTELY UNREAL experience. 20/10 must see the Fiesta. The park and ride is HANDS DOWN the way to go. People who decided to drive their own cars were stalled for MILES backed up on the highway and we rode right past them on the park and ride. Very easy to navigate. Very cold in the morning so definitely pack blankets and wear layers. Comfy walking shoes are a must. Bring your own water there are not I’ll up stations. What could be done better: Water bottle fill up stations. More vendors - the lines were insane for EVERYTHING. Toilets, coffee,etc you were waiting for at-least 20 minutes. They lost SO much money not having a. Offer vendor tent or letting people in quicker. The line was so long we decided to bypass and I’m sure many others felt the same.

What an amazing experience. We attended on Kids Day, which is awesome because that's the day they launch the unusual shaped balloons! Traffic getting in is crazy, so go early. There's plenty to do. Lots of great vendors for food and swag.

What can I say this was so incredible! This is our 2nd year and they had 200 more balloons for a total of 700. No one can explain how fabulous this is. You have to see it to believe it!!!

Amazing thing to see! We were there for the 50th anniversary fiesta! The weather was uncooperative this year. Thursday night glow and fireworks were cxled due to storms. We got up early for the Fri morning glow and saw it while sitting in traffic trying to park. The rest of the balloons went up over the next 2 hours and it was an amazing sight to see! So many colors and shapes and characters. We left around 10ish AM. Loads of tents with merch and food offering. $15/ per session (am/pm) kids 12 and under are free. Parking is $20 each time. They have shuttles to some of the further lots. Restroom as port-o- potty only.

We struggled to get detailed and accurate information from the website regarding the balloon festival. Just generic there will be parking and it costs $20. GPS tried to take us down a closed off ramp. It would be really helpful if the event page outlined what routes to take to attend the event. The Morning Glow and Ascension were wonderful to watch, even though we hadn't made it into the event venue yet (because our gps detour took us 3 miles out of the way). Security screening was present and digital tickets worked well. Next time we'd like to ride a bicycle because they can just cruise around the levy directly to the venue. However, with strollers and children that was not an option for this visit.

We went yesterday (10/07/2021) and we had such a fun time. The balloons are beautiful and it’s well worth getting up early. I love that we have something that makes the city of Albuquerque so special. My only complaint is that some of the special-shaped balloons stayed on the ground and the balloons that did go up landed shortly after taking off, but we still had a great time. This is an event that I think everyone in the world has got to see. Also, an elderly woman gave us a ride on a golf cart back to our truck and that was very nice. We didn’t see the balloon glow and the fireworks, but maybe next year.

The Balloon Fiesta is one of my favorite events! I look forward to it every year! There's something about being on the field while the balloons inflate and take off around you. The colors against the NM blue skies fills is so joyful.

Wonderful place to be when the Fiesta is happening. Well worth the admission fee. Get there early for the Dawn Patrol. Walk near the balloons as the team put them out to begin the inflation. Watch the balloons light up in the darkness. Next, be amazed as all the balloons begin inflating for the mass asention when the balloons begin flying from one end of the park and working to the other. The park is ADA accessible, it is very child friendly, and fun for adults. Don't miss it.

There is just something special about the balloon fiesta it's beautiful and something you don't just see anywhere...the night glow is relaxing a gorgeous and the final accending is like nothing you'll ever see with thousands of balloons lifting off at once..fun for the whole family those of all ages..a must see for everyone

Overall, we enjoyed our visit to the park. I do wish there was signage for balloon riders & handicap parking as we had our mother with us. The most common reply was I don't know.. Where is the area for sunrise balloon riders, is there handicap parking available, etc.. Beautiful experience even with the hiccups to get there. 🙂

This was the 50th anniversary, although there were some cancellations and delays due to unfavorable weather conditions the event was still a huge success in my opinion. We plan to return for future events and recommend everyone to try and make it there at least once.

Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is an event you need to see at least once in your life. It's a beautiful sight to see over 800 hot air balloons rise into the air at dawn! There are picnic tables and benches available or you can go down on the field to get close up and personal with the balloons. There are lots of booths which have food, drinks, souvenirs, and more. Plan on arriving by 4:00 AM and leaving around 9 AM.

The balloon Fiesta is always a must! Even though the balloon events were cancwlledbthis morning and only about a total of nine balloons went up for the static event I believe it was called (the didn't go up in the sky) it was still a good time to walk around, enjoy the Tom thumbs donuts and some coffee. There was still a lot of people but the traffic wasn't bad at all we were pretty much in and out! I loved all the pictures that I got! And the good thing is that the news just said because the events were canceled and it was the last day of the balloon Fiesta we are able to get a rain check for 2022's balloon events! Just got to figure out how to do that! Loove looved it all! 😍

The fiesta was stunning, I didnt know what to expect and all of the ballons really took me by surprise. There are a lot of people that are into ballons, us not so much until after this event. I would go in the morning as traffic can be bad, even if you take the bus in. Bring food and water as the lines are super long for vending

10.9.21 First timer here! We didn’t get to see the mass ascension due to the elements… however, we purchased tickets to the gondola club and enjoyed ourselves! We left super early (4am) and experienced zero traffic… parking was a breeze and we had a shuttle bring us straight over. It was worth it since we brought our new bundle of joy with us! Def plan on going back … 50th anniversary, perhaps? ;)

It was the most beautiful, wonderful and awesome experience to see 550 Hot Air Balloons of all shapes, sizes and colors launch and light up the skies of Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is an annual event that draws people from all over the world. YouTube has videos of the International Balloon Fiesta. I highly recommend you put this on your bucket list of things to go see and experience. It is a nine day celebration. Great overall experience! Except for the guy who was handing out anniversary cards for this balloon. He thinks just because he is a balloonist, that gives him a monopoly on sailing craft through the air. He cannot wrap his mind around innovations concerning "Sailing" through the air as opposed to and related to sailing through water. His comment " I am a balloonist and have been doing this for years" is a typical bigoted response. He thinks a rudder would create too much resistance. Yeah tell that to airplane pilots.

The morning is the best time to go but make sure you get there early, traffic is horrible and several streets are blocked off. Go to the opposite side of the field near the sponsor tents for less people and the views shown in these pictures.

Massive park area but the square grid like layout with named paved streets and a map make it an easily navigable area. Any seat in this park is a great seat to watch the balloons during the fiesta - you cant go wrong! My wife and I had an amazing experience here and would do it all over again every year if we lived nearby!

Well they had to cancel the balloon glow tonight cuz of the wind but it was still a fun time watching the fireworks and getting food at the vendors and hanging out with friends. They did have a couple of beer gardens at the hot air balloon fiesta. You ought to go to the balloon museum they have lots of interesting exhibits there.

As a local, you would think I’d be over Ballon Fiesta. In reality, it never loses its magic and I can’t wait ever fall for it to happen. We like to park a few miles away and ride our bikes in. The peek provides free valet bike parking until 10:30am (the majority of balloon stuff is over by then). Grab some Née Mexico Piñon Coffee and some Tom Thumb Doughnuts while you’re there. You can totally sit and watch but we really love to walk around and get up close and kiddos can even collect trading cards from the balloon pilots! So much fun and something truly unique to our already singularly interesting state.

Everyone needs to put this event on their bucket list. We are planning to return next year because this was just so incredible and they didn't have very many days that were perfect for ballooning. But given an environment where it was perfect for ballooning for an entire week this experience would have just been more magnificent. Friendly staff. Nice driving range that can be used during the day as well as in the evening. Practice pitch and putt course is also quite fun and well maintained. And at a reasonable price you can do a six hole par 3 executive course for only $6. Generous bucket of balls for $10 approximately 136.

Stopped here for the Balloon Fiesta and it was simply amazing! We were able to walk the grounds in the area where the balloons launched and had a close up experience with the operation of them. I would suggest getting there as early as possible for the morning launch and enjoy the show! Plenty of parking with many workers directing traffic.

What a wonderful time I had going here. Came to see the balloons in the evening and in the am and I must say both were epic. I was blown away at how many there were around 500! Bring a jacket because it’s freezing and take lots of photos! Highly recommend this to everyone.

What an Awesome place during balloon event. Perfect outing. Very well ran/organized. Waited along time to do this and in know way disappointed. Very reasonably priced entry, complimentary shuttles to and fro, from golf carts to busses. Event staff and volunteers made for very enjoyable experience. Weekends were jam packed yet still enough room, didn't really feel so. Weekday mornings were perfect for field viewing. Breathtaking event with more ballon activity than one can consciously absorb. TY to all that help put it on. Everyone should come and experience this. This middle aged human was child like once again and for that I'm eternally grateful.

We had a magnificent experience at the Balloon Fiesta Park. The atmosphere was electric with the excitement of the balloons being unfurled, inflated, and taking off. Went to balloon fiesta park for the balloon fiesta. There was a little fog in the morning so all the balloon couldn’t take off (wimps, imo). Or maybe it was safety. Anyway, it was awesome walking among the many many balloons being blown up. You can get super close to all of them. Lots of food, merchandise vendors everywhere. Show up 1 hour earlier than you think you should (to avoid the nutty traffic). Bring a folding chair. And cash. And a camera.

This is an amazing experience that everyone should be able to experience at least once in their life! The Balloon fiesta is such an awesome experience, while it is usually quite chilly in the early hours, check the weather and bring layers, it is so exciting once the balloons start to take off in the dark right before dawn! Come very very early as driving there and parking is always insane and the parking lots WILL fill up and at a certain time they stop the traffic flowing in and no one can get in anymore. Do your research, bring a folding chair if you want and get some yummy green chili burritos or donuts and coffee for breakfast and hang out until the balloons start to take off! Once they start I would definitely recommend walking around and seeing the balloons close up and you can even get in on the fun by getting a ride (arranged prior obviously) or helping the balloons launch! I cannot recommend this experience enough, but do your homework before you come, the city fills up fast with tourist as does the parking there and it can be cold, while we are in the desert it is dark and October! Such a thrill!

The balloons were beautiful! The pilots were great given the amount of people that do not pay attention to balloon ropes and lift offs. We loved collecting business cards from the pilots/crews. There were lots of shuttle carts from parking to entrance for those needing assistance. The restrooms were plenty with minimal lines. They had kid wagons and accessible scooters for rent. It was a cold 50° to start but once the sun came up it warmed up quickly. My suggestion is for buses to have their own entrance and road to the park to get the majority or the people in quicker.

Must see spectacle. Get there earlier if you don’t want to get stuck in traffic. At least 500 balloons up in the air gradually. You will be done with the activity by 9am.

Great event for anyone and everyone, but come prepared. If you want to be there on time you must get there before 5 AM or you'll be stuck in traffic for over an hour, also, there is no way into the park at the end of events so getting dropped off and picked up isn't such a good idea. If you're going to eat there you better bring at least $20 per person. Parking is $15 per car and entry is $10 per person, be sure to check the weather forecast because the balloons may not go up if weather (precipitation, wind, fog, lightning) poses danger to the public or balloonists and there are no refunds. With that aside it's a wonderful event worth going to that you shouldn't miss.

Outstanding "bucket list" event. The traffic entering the venue and the parking is a terrible experience. I told myself that I would never attend the event again. However, once you are immersed in the Fiesta dawn patrol and mass ascension experience, the memories of the traffic and parking immediately fade away. The colors, the sounds, the movement and the sights are nothing less than spectacular! Go early! No, go earlier than that!

Tough morning! We left SANTA FE at 4:15am, arrived 1 mile before the Tramway exit at 5am and we STOPPED, for almost 2 hours!!!! It was insane!!!! We got to the parking lot just before 7am, got in the park just on time, and then none of the balloons could take off bc some fog rolled through! Such a bummer!!! We ate some breakfast burritos that were not great at all, greasy and expensive and the internet was down and they only accepted cash! I love balloon fiesta but I'll never go on the FIRST DAY ever again! Lesson learned. It was so ridiculously crowded you could hardly move! Wow they need some serious crowd organization skills!

Love, love, love. Great experience, for the family. Be prepared to wake up at 4:00 am and be on the road to.the park at 4:30 am if your staying close by. There.will be heavy traffic, but once you get to the parking lot all is super organized. There is and afternoon presentation that you could.consider.if you dont want to wake up so early. Have fun!

Definitely worth getting up at 4.30am to see the Dawn Patrol even though it was freezing. Wasn't so keen on the evening session which is just a field of inflated balloons doing coordinated burns in the dark, on the ground. The Balloon Fiesta is certainly a spectacle worth seeing.

We happened to be traveling and scheduled to visit my brother in Los Alamos, NM. Just lucky it was opening weekend of the Albuquerque Balloon festival! It is amazing! Oct. 6 the sky was clear and blue. None of my pics needed editing the colors are so vibrant! There are hundreds of balloonists with balloons of all shapes, themes, and colors. Being on the field you watch them blown up in designated rows, take off one by one cheering them as they lift off and marvel at the site of so many above you in the sky! It's a wonder how they don't bump, smash into each other especially since I'm sure they can't see above themselves! Truly an art form and skill involved. Highly recommend this event!

It was such an awesome experience to see all these hot air balloons light up the sky. I definitely recommend putting this on your bucket list of things to go see and experience. The park is clean and also has a bunch of food stands and stores to walk through, along with live music. I recommend doing the Park and Ride for convenience, rather than sitting in congested lines in the early morning trying to find a parking spot

This is such a wonderful event! I came all the time as a kid and now I can bring my children and experience it again through their eyes. We got to the park at 6:45am on tueaday and there was no traffic and parking was a breeze. I was shocked! There are a lot of food vendors and souvenirs to purchase. All of the balloons went up and it was just amazing to see. There are a lot of volunteers to direct you where to go and help you find specific vendors, bathrooms, etc. Everything is well coordinated.

I've lived in New Mexico my whole life and surprisingly never attended the Balloon Fiesta. I was not disappointed with the grounds, they were clean, the grass was well maintained (even if just for the season that is still a nice thing) and getting into the park was actually faster than you would think even with Disneyland-sized waiting lines. Attend the Fiesta in the morning by the way, the balloons look so much better in the dim light and at sunrise

We have been here for 5 day, its close enough to walk however the have busses running about every ,15 minutes to Balloon Fiesta Field. Its dusty they are running street water truck about twice an hour. About 550 RV of every size and shape. Great place to take pictures.

We come to join 2019 Albuquerque International Ballon Fiesta. We arrive here late (around 5:40AM in local time). If you want to join this festival next year and do not want to get stuck on the road, please arrive here by 5:00 or even earlier. There are some food in this area. We stay here from 6:20AM to 8:20AM and then leave for other places. Also, my hotel is neat Albuquerque international airport, 30 mins away from this park. This event is so popular. So... book a room as earlier as possible.

Went for Balloon Fiesta 2019. There was a lot of people directing traffic which was nice. Especially when trying to leave as there was a lot of traffic. The park is quite large but there were so many people on the field itself that a lot of balloons were all clustered together. All in all it was a beautiful experience for my first time going to Balloon Fiesta. My only complaint were that the bathrooms were too small and not very clean.

This is a must for every bucket list. Family appropriate, even a must for kids to see and experience. The balloon pilots cater to the kids and young at heart handing out balloon information trading cards. They will let you assist with control lines and get up close and personal. Well worth the trip.

The Albuquerque Balloon Festival is an awesome experience! A must see at least once in your lifetime. This was my first in 67 years but it won't be my last. We bought tickets for a morning launch and the final night of fire works including those launched from a 4 man parachute team on their way down to the the parks launch field. Weather dictates if and when the balloons can launch so plan to buy tickets for at least 2 or 3 days. We were lucky on day one because we saw a mass launch. On the second night the evening mass inflation (they never launch at night) was cancelled due to wind but the fireworks and parachutists still made for a great evening!

By far, one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Chose the morning session. Traffic was backed up at 3:30 am. Took about an hour to get to parking which was $20. Then waited around 30 mins at the entrance where they check your bags and have to walk through a metal detector. Once inside, there are several souvenir stores and food outlets. The 2 official merchandise stores have the longest lines. The event is well organized with podiums for the media crew. There are plenty of porter potties throughout the location. The event also had a MC briefing the crowd over loudspeakers. This year (2022) was the first time where there was a drone show which was amazing !!! Then followed the dawn patrol where multiple hot air balloons formed in a single line on the field and lit up from the gas burners in the darkness before dawn. A beautiful sight to behold ! The most amazing part of the morning was the mass ascension where the field was full of balloons getting ready to ascend in the sky. Balloon teams from all over the world garter here with balloons of all colors & shapes. Only place in the world where you can walk right next to where the teams unpack, set up their balloons & launch. All launches are expertly coordinated by the zebra crews. Makes you become a child again and fills you with joy !!! Just loved it, I can see why some people come back every year.

Spent a great 4th of July evening on the lawn at the park. Able to see many professional and "amateur" fireworks shows all around the area before the main show at the park. Had food vendors, a climbing wall, and plenty of porta-potties available. As expected with most major events that end all at once, getting over 3000 vehicles out of the parking area is a major event in itself where patience is a virtue.

The traffic was unbearable we were routed out of our way off alameda and I-25.. We were on frontage road north bound off Paseo del norte towards sandia casino where we had to flip around to head back south to the other side of frontage road so we could park in that south side lot on frontage road. Ugh it was ridiculous but it was definitely a sight to see once we arrived the sky divers they had with the fire works display was amazing.. Very cool indeed but I suggest they have more than one time slot for the park and ride cuz we missed it.. They should have two time slots next year 430pm and 530pm that would be ideal..Other than that we had a good time! 🤘

Been at the balloon park everyday except for today because of the severe rain storm last night. The field is flooded and muddy and is predicted to rain most of the day. The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta 50th Anniversary set the record Mass Ascension and had some amazing specialty shapes. Seeing so many balloons in the air at once was an awesome sight and inspirational as well. I would highly recommend visiting the Fiesta and in particular being on the grounds for the Morning Glow events. It is also pretty amazing to view the spectacle from a distance of a couple of miles on one of the surrounding ridges to fully take in the majesty of that many balloons filling the sky. A special thanks to Doug and Marilyn for their hospitality and a tip of the hat to Doug for the phenomenal deck built with a spectacular view of the city and grounds!

My 1st time at the Hot Air Balloon Festival (the 50th). It was cool seeing the balloons being aired up within just a few feet in front of us. So exciting! The down side was the horrendous traffic & parking situation. The 1st night we had to pay $20 for parking & it was canceled as we walked to the gate entrance to get in so we basically threw $20 out the window ( they made a killing on hundreds of cars - no refunds). This morning we went back ...traffic again was horrible - had to pay another $20 to park but, we got into the event this time. I'm glad we came to this event - been wanting to come for years.

This is a very good place to go if your a tourist the balloon fiesta happens only for a certain amount of time during the year really good food you get to walk around and collet cards from people who air up the balloons and if you ask a zebra for a pin you get a collectors pin for free it’s one per family the zebras at people in black and white shirts and they wear zebra hats.

There is nothing that could be done about the weather… perhaps shifting the hours of the Glowdeo could have helped, but I’m sure there is a reason behind keeping to the schedule. The drone show was a pleasant surprise and well choreographed. Next year there will hopefully be a shelter on each end rather than tweeting and causing everyone to leave in a panic for some weather. Receiving a shelter in place notification via emergency text that didn’t elude to weather made me pretty upset thinking it could be something much worse.

Go 90 mins early in the morning and you'll be good, but lots of walking and standing. Courtesy shuttle golf carts can help, but so hard to find one available. What they really need is a place to refill water bottles for people.

Must watch baloon festival. If ur going super early please dress in layers and bring something to sit or lie down and relax. Make sure to watch little ones closely as it's easy to get lost once the balloon are inflated and they get exited collecting cards. Rest room is available near bus parking lots. Very friendly staffs and volunteers.

I love hot air balloons , this is the best hot air balloon fest in earth! There was a happy accident that allow me to see the hot air balloon festival in Albuquerque New Mexico! A freak snowstorm came through in October that forced my hand to go around on my way to the Grand Canyon. Pure Nostalgia is what I found instead. My father and I had gone up in hot air balloons as I was a child. Thank you Ballon Fiesta Park for allowing this trip down memory lane and new wonderful memories to be had.

Covid Testing Info Alameda is exit only. Must enter by San Mateo or Roy / frontage entrance. Appointments and walk-ins all go to same line. Get there early!! When u get to the metal fence gate turn in, figure a half hr for each line/turn and half hr in the final line. There are 8 registration tents and the line does keep moving. I was told to arrive at 8:30 for my 9:00am appt. Not screened until 10:10am after arriving at 8:25. Appts don't mean anything. Thank you to all the Pres employees making this testing possible. Hope this info helps others!

Unfortunately, the rain was kinda ruin the festival this year. But there were still plenty of visitors. The food prices is getting a little out of hand, and the lines were way too long! We will bring our own stuffs next time because it is going to get ridiculously expensive and too much waiting!

Loved the experience, but their shuttle service was disorganized! Our tickets were for 5:30 shuttle, we arrived 45 minutes EARLY and still didn't arrive to event until 7:30!!!! You allowed people with later tickets to be ahead of the scheduled time. Needs alot of work!

Several hundreds of hot air balloons from all over the world gather at this event. **Major tip for first time attendees.*** Bring portable (foldable) lightweight camp chairs you can carry or a folding wagon to haul your personal gear. A Camelback or similar filled with ice and refreshing beverage isn't a bad idea. The carnival/fair food is plentiful but lines can get very long.

Balloonfest 2022 was fun UNTIL the thunderstorm at the end of the glow. Then the crowds headed for the exits as the rain broke and thunderstorms started. Crowds stood in line patiently at the designated exits but nobody was getting on the busses lined up and already there. Then the busses left, empty. Then some of the lot attendents told people waiting to crowd move forward and if you were in the wrong line, move back. Which then caused more crowds to push up and around all the people already standing and waiting as empty busses come in and then drove off, still empty. Complete chaos, no control, no planning and nobody seemed to know what was going on. After an hour of waiting, finally some busses started loading but it was very uneven and sporadically controlled. Luckily not many "Karens" showed up and most people co-operated. Our bus actually self loaded without any assistance from the lot attendants. Otherwise we had a nice time, but if there was any emergency planning, it failed critically.

A well organized event but, before you spend big bucks on it, be sure you realize that it's a 100percent weather dependent event. Any slight inclement weather will force cancelations thus, your money goes down the drain

I don’t usually like to leave reviews, but the first time we came here was awful! The next time we came was good! They launched so many balloons and we took lots of nice pictures. We went to the big tent at the north end of the field cause they have some cool things for sale! We bought a blanket. I also watched a kid, who was clearly old enough to read, pinch his finger on the animated balloon display that says, “DO NOT TOUCH” in large letters. He started crying and complaining, but that’s life kid. Obey. We had some breakfast burritos and coffee from Prismatic while we watched the balloons sail around the sky. I would highly recommend!

I haven't been here for years but it was fun. We were there in the morning and arrived about 5:30am. We had to pay $20 for parking which was unexpected but luckily I had the cash. The park was very crowded with people barely moving. The balloons were fun to look at and see the different shapes. They have a lot of tourist shopping and we bought some stuff. Overall it was a fun experience.

First time coming events were canceled or started late without sufficient notice. Bathroom lines were crazy. Vendors are expensive. Food was good 2 gyros 23$ and weren't hardy helpings. Souvenir shirts 25$ pins 10$. Rental scooters kid wagons were available. All in all a good event.

Can't beat the 4th of July fireworks here. Free to attend but $10 per car for parking. Highly recommend to wait 30 to 45 min before going to your car after fireworks. Otherwise its easily 30 min waiting in your car to leave.

As a hot air balloon pilot visiting for the first was just heaven. This place is a must on your bucket list. Make sure you have plenty of SD cards and your camera batteries charged. Stay for the fireworks!!!! Also for a side note ask about the collector pins, the zebras, search and rescue and more give them out or have them for sale.

The morning balloons were beautiful. There are many things I would change about this whole event. Seeing as it's been around for 49 years you'd think they would do better. The stores in tents should have been more, and they had events no one knew were there like chainsaw carving, and the crafts people were selling were so far away in a tent no one knew they were there. The balloons went up in the morning and was amazing. By 10 they were all gone, and they didn't have anything else till around 5:30 or 6 that night. So nothing to do but leave or sit around and do nothing. Some people sat around like I did and they didn't have to buy nighttime tickets. I bought both tickets. When nighttime hit the fireworks went and barely anything else. They had three balloons but they deflated fast, and they did the burner about ten times that's it. Fireworks were nice, but.. with the way this event was I thought it would be a lot better. Also, the security and the people working that I've asked questions to didn't even know the answers, very unorganized.

There were places to buy coffee & breakfast items. Lots of places to buy pins, earrings & necklaces, coats, ponchos, & many other things. It was fun-filled day with alot of walking!!!

We went to the annual Balloon Fiesta. The balloons were great, many shapes and designs. The P.A. announcing was relentless and gave me a headache. It concessions were like a state fair. There were a couple of decent burrito places and many more I didn't try. The management underestimated the amount of Porta potties required for such a massive crowd. People were 30 deep at each potty, let that sink in! The weather was perfect and it was relaxing over all even with thousands of people around.

Buses will shuttle you to the site. They have plenty of food booths, bathrooms, and the field is comfortable even with just a blanket to sit on. Definitely a must see!! Plenty of balloons!! Fireworks show! And balloon glows in the evening.

Except for the super-bright lights in our faces during the fireworks, we enjoyed the display. However, the extreme lack of enough vendors resulted in very long lines that wasted almost all of our time at the park. A couple of vendors were even "sold out" before people could get to them. Traffic control was very good.

Even with no ascension this morning due to wind, it was still spectacular. We did the Park & Ride so it was also very easy. The balloonists were friendly and patient with our questions. Long lines for food but everyone was courteous.

I've never had an experience surpass my expectations more than today! The organized chaos that is the Albuquerque International Balloon Festival was absolutely incredible! From catching a bus at 4 AM at a local mall to the breakfast burritos to the dawn patrol to the intricately shaped balloons, today was a complete pleasure!!
