This is the best smoke shop, hands-down the employees definitely know what they’re doing and most of them. If not all of them pretty much know all of the products in the store which is really good so that way anytime I have any questions they know exactly what to say so I know what I’m buying. I really do appreciate it and this is the only smoke shop I go to now.

Super cool smoke shop with basically everything you could want or need. Tons of accessories in this multiple room monstrosity of a head shop. Super friendly and helpful ppl behind the counter assisted me when I needed it and held back when I was just browsing. Heard from some of them that there is more cool stuff to come! They expanded quite a bit since the last time I was there, Pretty soon it seems they will own the entire block. Overall, they are the best known pipe store around the twin cities for a reason. They have a massive selection but the prices used to be better. The staff are always helpful and knowledgeable, and the glass is always good quality. It's great for newbies and veterans alike.

Very friendly and helpful staff. They also have a wide range of glass including everything thing from cheap glass to heady pieces. The staff is knowledgeable about all of their products. Overall I would say it's one of the best smoke shops in the twin cities, and I definitely recommend checking it out.

I've been a customer here for years. It's always a hit or miss with service. I was here yesterday, checking out the art cases, looking for something to buy. Meanwhile I'm trying to get the attention of 2 employees who are gossiping. They both look at me and then go back to their conversation. I went up to them and waited until they finally asked what's up in a very "you're interrupting us" tone. I tell them I'm looking for a dab rig and my price range is up to $500. That finally got their attention. Don't go here if you want to be treated like a worthwhile customer. They were gossiping about a guy thinking a $50 pipe was too expensive Finally, I'm directed to someone who knows about what I want and he literally tells me to go to a different store. He then recommended legacy glass and I tipped him for being honest! EDIT: found exactly what I was looking for at legacy glass. Will never go to hideaway again

I come here often enough to say that I've had the same experience every time. The people who work there are often really great at answering questions and helping you pick out stuff, especially for beginners. They usually have some really great deals on certain days, as well as having big events in the parking lot with live bands, food, and art.

Legendary place. Good selection. Was better before the remodel—the store was more focused and better curated. (It was also better aesthetically, but that’s a much more personal opinion) Service is very hit-or-miss depending on who you get; employees can either be very helpful and friendly or entirely unhelpful, unknowledgeable, and terse.

Wide selection and knowledgeable staff. I don't use their products but I am familiar with the merchandise and they have one of the wider arrays of product in the metro for this type of establishment. Their staff also is very knowledgeable and they are able to answer questions and offer feedback about the various offerings.

i don't smoke, so i can't speak on that portion of the store (though it looked popular, based on the number of people looking at stuff), but i absolutely loved the basement and all the cute clothing pieces they had! lots of vintage stuff in the room off to the right. they also had some really cute and fair priced accessories in the left side. ended up with a cool keychain and some holographic scrunchies! would def recommend if you're into funky and fun fashion.

Favorite tobacco shop.. Lots of different options, and also stock local glass which is nice. Good pricing, good deals, quality glass. Employees are always super helpful and really friendly. They have awesome deals on holidays (420, black Friday). Located conveniently by the U of M with all of the college kids

Haven't been there in about 4 years, I decided to go because I had a broken part I needed to replace; and discovered their store is now huge. The staff were very nice and extremely helpful. The selection, which was always good mind you, has improved. This place has transformed, for the better.

They make the service you get fast... but so far I haven't had a great experience here. They sold me some ecig coils that were exactly what I said several times I did not want, which was the last time I've been there. They kept telling me it was a really good deal and finally I decided to just stock up, even though I had three... however they have a no return policy. So even though it's their fault they dont take the fault, which kind of upsets me. Prior to that, an employee ensured me that a couple of the things I got I'd just love and I feel like it was more trying to sell what wasn't selling than actually helping me out... they have great prices, and I'm sure if they want to talk to you they're very helpful but I always feel very rushed by everyone except the manager.

I absolutely LOVE HIDEAWAY! I've been shopping there for over 10 years and I've never been dissapointed with their selection or their customer service. I gave up on shopping anywhere else for my smoking accessories because no one ever compared to their prices, selection, or quality. Even when I'm just window shopping it's always fun to pop in and just take a look around and visit with other shoppers or the employees. The owner, wally, is a great guy too! I remember going in when it was still just a small shop and sitting and talking with him several times. I highly recommend it for your shopping. Go and check it out! You won't regret it!

I recently bought a lighter there that literally did not work at all. Had NO juice inside it. And, they are constantly out of product. Some people are helpful and kind, but then there are a lot of employees lately that when I say I am looking for a specific product (ie: a type of CBD flour) they claim they have not ever had that, or haven't had it since summer even though the last time I went in, October, I bought 3 containers of it. It is not helpful or really all that appropriate to dismiss a customer's knowledge as incorrect constantly or challenge them passive aggressively. It makes the shopping experience very awkward. A customer should not have to justify or try and prove that they have indeed bought a certain product recently?? I end up leaving with product that I have to settle for. I really liked the fresh CBD bud, pre-ground in the little green containers. I'd stock up, since like I said, they are CONSTANTLY out of product. The other disappointing thing I would say is how the rewards system works. I spend a fair amount of money at hideaway, because it is the only place I go, and I make sure to have my Hideaway rewards card scanned each time. And every time, I ask if there are any points I can use (they claim once you spend $100 aka 1,000 points you get $5 off), and I know for a FACT because I keep my receipts that I have spent over $100, but yet each time the cashiers say "no, you have to reach "x" amount and re-explain the point system to me, in that same type of dismissive talking down to you way. It is then often too uncomfortable to try and say "Hey, I actually HAVE spent that..." Which I did try to mention once but it went poorly because of the attitude of the employees. Not all the employees are passive aggressive or dismissive. Some are really helpful, knowledgable, patient, friendly, and nice. Those are the types of people that create a good environment to shop in I think. It is always nice to not feel like I want to escape the shop as fast as possible, ya know? For the pure fact of feeling judged... And maybe if the atmosphere was more friendly people like me would spend more time looking around and buy more even! Just a thought. I mean this feedback to be helpful, I'm a genuine person, not trying to be a passive aggressive or rude "reviewer" type. I just lately have felt really uncomfortable and sort of upset about all those instances. The lighter that did not even work, the constant product that is not there and then employees that claim I am incorrect even though I have the exact product at home that I bought only a month ago, and also definitely the rewards system just not adding up. I do not want to take my business elsewhere. Again, I especially liked the homegrown CBD y'all made and pre-ground for us. The "Hit N Run"s. NOT the pre-rolls, but the bud/flour that you'd put in the little green containers for like $10 or $15 bucks. I would stock up, and am nearly out. Sometimes I call ahead and am told you have it, I come into the store, and it is not even the right product :( Even though I clearly described it and the employee confirmed... It feels misleading is all. Anyways, I hope this feedback makes a difference in a positive way! Thank you for reading.

Probably my favorite head shop ever! The staff is incredibly nice, and they have killer deals on everything, but especially their hookah sets. They also have some really impressive glass on display here, almost gallery status.

Very nice and large head shop. A massive collection of glass pipes, bongs, bubblers, huukas etc.... a large selection of Kratom, CBD, Delta 8, air fresheners, papers, blunts, t-shirts. The store is big and divided into two rooms and plenty of friendly staff to help you out, answer questions and give advice to beginners.

I've been going here on and off for years, and lately I find that everything I buy from here is overly priced and/or it's not up to par. I bought a grinder for $11 to replace one that I bought months ago from another place for $5, and the $11 one is TRASH. It's still a cool place to go to do some window shopping, and the customer service is on point.

They're straight-up with everything they're selling, and knowledgeable on what's on display there. They have a better selection than most of the other stores around the Metro and their prices are generally cheaper. I generally always go here, and I usually regret my purchases from anywhere else. People that give this place 1 star are just crabby.

Great customer service when shopping but you better hope nothing goes wrong with what you purchase! "Knowledgable" staff told me only about 20% of the cleaning process and not much else because he was far to eager to make the sale on something I wasn't interested in but kept pitching until I bought it. Now I have a piece of worthless garbage that they could not care any less about. Horrible customer service when I contacted them over the phone. Been going to this place since they opened and I'll never go back, although I'm tempted go steal my tip back from 'em. Very disappointed. Always go with your gut and if you know more about something than they do don't listen to a word they say. Buy what you came in for, not what they try to sell you insistently. Better yet, just go somewhere else and not here.

Since they expanded, it seems like they have a higher quantity of products, but a lower quality. The selection of high quality hand blown glass has deteriorated. Still, they're a one stop shop and probably have what you're looking for.

The staff is knowledgeable about all their products, they have a lot of traditional pieces, and a lot of custom beautiful glasswork made by local artisans. They have a clothing area downstairs, and also have vaping tech, and pretty much anything smoking related you can think of.

Here's the skinny: The Hideaway is one of the few places that support (buy) art glass and have it for sale. Salt, Brandon Martin, Fr333k, Eric Ross, there's lots of good names represented!!

Recently expanded, this is a great place for your glass and smoking needs. MN Legit selection is great and top notch quality, especially for the price. Just wish they carried my favorite eliquids, Jabako and Lucky Number. Luckily they are available nearby at Smokeless.

Walked in through back door Was not locked. Dude who said was his shop flipped out. Said was going to call the cops cause we broke into his shop. He went on and on walking frantically in circles while ranting then finally circled out the door, so we looked around had lots of cool stuff. So don't go through the back door.

Super friendly, super convenient, super chill. I appreciate the wide variety of products and helpful staff. I use CBD products as part of my health regemin, and Hideaway has one of the best selections I've found in the Twin Cities. Check out the wide variety of incense in the basement, too! Forget what you know about 'tobacco shops' because the remodeled Hideaway is redefining what a smoke shop can (and should) be.

Went into buy a vaporizer (for the first time). After some bad experiences trying (and failing) to get one at other stores in the area, I set a stopwatch and said if nobody helped me in 10 minutes, I'd buy something online. Less than a minute in, I'm being helped by a very knowledgable salesclerk. Long time customer, went in today to get CBD products and the chick with pink hair was pretty absurdly rude to me and my wife. Literally rolled her eyes at us when we asked to see the CBD products . Claimed they only had one prefilled CBD pen and was super short with us. Wouldn't have grabbed anything this time around, but we were in need.Bought it and took it home and it doesn't look full. not a great trip. I have loved hideaway for years but they need to select more helpful staff, mainly anyone who will be helpful and nice.

They are remodeling right now its October 8th. It's way bigger than before but they dont have it all set up yet. There is still a large section that is set up and there is a large selection there that I'm sure will have so many more great things to look at or buy when they finish. The shop and employees are great, however the CBD flower, not so much. At least the Hypnautyc brand I purchased was trash. Smelled like homegrown ditch. Tastes terrible, is extremely harsh, does not smoke well at all. You have to damn near collapse your lungs just to get a decent hit and by that time your throat is on fire because it’s so harsh. Stay away from Hypnautyc from Legit Growers LLC. Edit: I will say, despite all the negative comments I have about the product mentioned above, it does work very well for anxiety. It works well, it’s just not a very enjoyable experience smoking it, which is unfortunate. I’ve done my homework now, and will be purchasing online to try some other hemp flower that’s supposed to be better.

The sterile feel of the big, whitewashed rooms certainly screams, "Let's get medicated!" But in an offputting, uncomfortable way. Not a fan of the 'makeover' this location recieved. Selection was picked over at best. Perhaps that's due to the renovations? Will probably just make the 30min drive next time to Oakdale.. Smokedale. At least I can get what I go there for- not a whopping "we're out" to all 5 things requested..

Ooo Cool shop! Upstairs is a cool smoke shop with dazzling tabacco pieces as soon as you walk in. They have many high tech smoking devices and other smoke shop needs. It is more on the expensive side of things but you do pay for quality! The second floor has Art work from these amazingly talented local artists!(support them!), they also have a wide variety of invents, incent holders, Journals, and even a clothing store! Totally worth checking out!

Really nice group of folks. Can get busy but that's to be expected anywhere in Dinkytown! Their Oakdale location is my favorite but Dinkytown is a close second. No matter what you hear, Smokedale is NOT better than Hideaway. They are a bunch of drugged out crooks. Hideaway > Smokedale any day.
