Was an awesome place to go had 10 tables to sit and have a Cigar or do some work, chess boards, poker chips, 4-5 leather chairs and a couch with 3 TV's, and all the cigars & tobacco you could need.

This place smells great, fair prices on tobacco and has a wide selection of cigars and pipes. Tables to sit at and smoke your cigar or pipe and a nice TV to watch. They even have import cigarettes not found easily here in the states. The guy working there was nice and was showing me as well as other customers what they were asking for, honestly a solid 10/10 tobacco shop

I stopped in while visiting family in West Des Moines and glad I did. Pretty robust selection of cigars and pipe tobacco, with decent prices. The staff was very friendly and the lounge was very clean and excellently ventilated. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town.

Great experience every time. Service is knowledgable and friendly. They have a great selection of smokes and you can even sit down and enjoy it. My only regret is that I cant stay and enjoy the cigar here. Recommended, worth the drive.

You can walk in a stranger and leave as a friend. Eclectic mix of patrons always eager to discuss any and every topic. Friday nights are especially entertaining. Great selection of cigars and staff has ALWAYS been very courteous and helpful with me. I shop nowhere else. And the BYOB is an added perk!

This place is amazing. The people running the place are high caliber individuals and they make you feel right at home. On top of that, the other customers were phenomenal to be around. I was in town on business for four days and had to visit there every night because I felt so at home there while I was away from my home and my family. I cannot wait to come back. I’m from a small town and I’m not real fond of big city’s but this place really made my trip great. Huge thanks to all of the staff there.

I walked in as a newcomer, but I feel like I walked out as a valued long time customer. They treated me very well, had a very good selection of pipe tobacco and were very willing to help me navigate after just getting back in to pipes after a 10 year break. It's great to be given a chance to have a local tobacconist that gives you a good reasons to not have to shop online. This is now my go to source of pipes and tobacco. Sort of a monthly treat to pop in.

They have a very good supply here, and a nice lounge. I'd give it 5 stars if they had a better ventilation system, and if they would continue to stock my favorite cigar, which they're out of again.

I'd give this lounge more stars if I could. The Cigar selection is amazing, but what keeps me coming back is the atmosphere and the staff. Benjamin and the rest of the staff have been very kind and helpful every time I visit. This is an excellent place for a Cigar, a drink, and a good time.

the store was very impressive and the right place for cigar connoisseur. but the day I went in after looking at the website and left very disappointed. the site went on about their hookah selection, replacement pieces, tobacco and charcoal. one brand tobacco and charcoal. what a let down. the gentleman working was very educated on the topic and was fast to get in and out of. but we'll pass them up next time.

Please note that the owner died in 2018. Any negative issues customers had with Greg were related to his physical condition. I sat and chatted w him and noticed he'd slowed down considerably. Not making excuses but please keep this in mind. The store is still open for business. I've known Greg David since the early 1980's and have enjoyed his shop, now located in the Indian Hill shopping center at the corner of University and 35th Street. It's a cigar lounge like in your dreams. I highly recommend stopping by!

Looking for the nicest place in town to have a stick. Look no further. Bring in your favorite drink and relax. They have some good accessories too lighters, boveda packs, humidors, and a pretty good selection of cigars. Probably not the biggest selection of cigars but they have a decent humidor.

I went here to get cigars for my groomsmen it was a very pleasant experience the guy who helped me behind the counter made me feel like a friend and welcomed and also explained different ones to me since I was new I'm really sad to hear about the owner I hope the Legacy lives on cuz I'll definitely be back

David's is my favorite place in the Des Moines area. It is one fantastic cigar shop and lounge. There is no membership fee so anyone can walk in and buy a cigar and enjoy it while hanging out in his lounge. Even enjoy a beer! Greg and his staff are great. They have lots of events throughout the year that are must go tos. They are fantastic. I wish I lived closer, I would be there everyday! But every time Im in Des Moines I always stop in at David's Fine Tobaccos. Just a great place.

Decent pipe prices, tobacco is not cheap but it's the real McCoy, if you are old enough to remember David's briar shop it's as close to that as you'll find. Young man who helped me was knowledgeable and curtios.
