Since my original review, I have re-thought what I want anyone who might read this to take away from my experience, and therefore essentially deleted all of what I originally wrote, and was slightly less critical in my “star” rating. My original review was, as much as I hate to admit, largely fueled by bitterness and unnecessarily long winded. In summary, and coming from a bit more neutral mindset… I don’t want to put anything out there that would in any way hurt this business. It is a dying breed as far as I’m concerned and I see tremendous value in what a shop like this offers. Not only products, but the camaraderie, knowledge, and discussions surrounding a unique hobby/interest. Having said that…… The additional value that such a business does bring to the customers experience isn’t worth the mark up that I payed for my pipe. I think I should be able to say that without feeling too guilty. I’ll just leave it at that without going into all the details. Overall, a cool shop. The employee was great. If I had educated myself on what pipes I was interested in, and what they should cost ahead of time though, I wouldn’t have purchased one here. I have no problem paying suggested retail or whatever it may be to a brick and mortar shop, knowing its supporting a neat and local business, instead of buying cheaper online. But this was well beyond that. Certainly not all of their products are marked up to this degree? Water under the bridge at this point. I love my pipe, will hopefully have it for a very long time, and am not going to worry about overpaying. I had a good experience in the shop and enjoyed looking at their selection. I very much enjoyed talking with the employee. I hope to get back in the shop soon and try some more of their house tobacco blends.

I visited this establishment to bring a gift that would be unique from Alaska. The tobacco will be used in a ceremonial occasion and I wanted top quality tobacco to offer as a gift. Never being around tobacco I was able to have a tobacco connoisseur help me pick out the right quality product that was uniquely blended in Alaska. Amazing experience. Thank you

Great selection of curated tobbaco and cigars awesome service by very engaging staff. They have their own tobbaco blender. And great blends it's the best shop in the area hands down.

I literally spend 2 and a half hours simply talking to the gentleman that was working there about pipes, tobacco and cigars. Extremely knowledgeable and passionate for what he does. Was more than willing to share his knowledge with me (completely new to pipe tobacco and cigars). I left happy and educated enough to feel comfortable trying something new! Highly recommend stopping by the shop.

Shop staff is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to help you learn the ins and outs of cigars, pipes, and pipe tobacco. He gave me a tour of all the different pipe offerings, then walked me through the whole process from start to finish of selecting a pipe, how to use it, care for it, and the do’s and don’ts, to make your smoking experience enjoyable and make your pipe last for years of enjoyment. He explained the different types of pipe tobacco, the different cuts, flavor profiles, nose profiles, and experiences they offer. He also gave me a tour of the humidor and explained the different types of cigars and the different types of tobaccos, wrappers, and the different types of flavors and experiences they offer as well. Excellent selection of pipes, pipe tobacco, and cigars, a true tobacconist. If you are looking for the best in fine tobacco in Alaska look no further, G&P fine tobacco is the place to go! Got home with my new pipe, selection of tobacco, and tools to get started and tried it for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely be returning in the future, top notch customer service, thank you sir!

Great shop, great service. Quality selection of cigars, pipes, pipe tobacco. It's pleasant to find a tobacconist who knows the product and doesn't talk down to you. I have never had a bad experience here. It's not a head shop its a proper pipe and cigar shop. No RYO or papers etc. It's a classy place. Wish i lived closer

This place is fantastic. They maintain a large selection of cigars, pipe tobacco, pipes, and accessories. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, and friendly. I highly recommend that anyone interested in fine tobacco, pay this store a visit.

Just popped in and recieved a course in Pipes 101. Very knowledgeable and friendly management. I was walked through step by step in the proper usage and maintenance of pipes. He turned what first seemed to be an overwhelming experience into an enlightening entry into the world of tobacco. A vast selection of pipes, cigars, tobacco and accessories. Excellent assistance and tutelage.

G & P takes care of their humidor and is knowledgeable about the cigars and pipe tobacco they carry. You can always find a diamond in the rough in there lower shelves for cigars. Sure they have the Macunodos, Arturo's, and Partagas. Dont be afraid to try something new.

I would say it's the nicest cigar shop in Anchorage, but it's generally not a big cigar town so that isn't saying much. I know they also have a semi-secret smoking lounge a couple doors down but I have never been in it.
