Fantastic lounge! Massive walk-in humidor will blow your mind. The knowledgeable and friendly staff (ask for Matthew) will widen your knowledge beyond anything you know. I’m in town for the night and was looking for a place to relax by enjoying a nice cigar. This place popped up and it was worth all the fantastic reviews it has received. Come on by! You’ll love everything about this fantastic shop.

By far the best cigar shop in all of New Mexico especially Albuquerque. The staff are extra friendly they have an awesome cigar room if you're a club member. They have the best selection of accessories from pipe smokers to Cigar smokers. If anyone asks me where to get a good cigar I would definitely recommend Monte's. They are not overpriced and they have a huge selection. You are almost always guaranteed to find what you were looking for. Shout out to Monty's cigars

This is one of the only remaining cigar shops in town. Always a great selection and great service. My only suggestion is to please try and keep some cherry pipe tobacco in stock. I've missed their stock almost every time. They have the big 5lb bag in stock, but I can't justify buying that much tobacco! :) Great place though!

Because as far as I know they're the oldest cigar store in Albuquerque my grandfather used to buy cigars from them back in 76 when they first open what a great year America's bicentennial year I'll never forget it even though I was only five years old, my brother and all his firefighter buddies bought their cigars from them to, I started shopping there back in the 80s when they were up on Louisiana and Menaul, in my opinion they're the best in the whole state of New Mexico,big up Matthew Monte and the rest of the Family Nuff Love and respects from Rastaman Ritchie.

I love this place i come in here frequently to buy good cigars, much better than the crap i was smoking at the Gas Stations in town. I hope the owners are reading this BECAUSE I LOVE THE BARGAIN BIN !!!!! you can get a decent smooth cigar from that bin for like 5 or 6$ and for a broke college kid like me this is nice. I love this place and support them 100% please keep the bargain bin around so that some of the more financially challenged can enjoy a good smoke. Also if you have a bit of extra cash to spend they have better brands at fair prices as well. Love this place, if you like cigars you will enjoy this little shop.

Not sure what he means; I have several hundred cigars in my personal collection and they are 'aging' in my humidor, not just sitting on a shelf or in a box. Monte's large, stroll through humidor is aging several thousand of the worlds finest cigars and tobacco's. The staff is well informed and will happily walk through with you to help choose a cigar, answer questions you might have about any brand or cigar family, even talk local events, politics, religion, steaks, wine, women or song. This has been a family owned business for decades and they take pride in their work and in their customers, most of whom have become good friends. So many customers and members love this store that you could even find yourself being guided by a long time customer who has a passion for smoking fine tobacco. It's an outstanding place for all your smoking needs. (Unless your looking for discount cigarettes, then not so much). However the humidor is the largest and most well stocked in New Mexico, and one of the best in the southwest period. The lounge is a man cave away from home, and there is a large selection of pipes and pipe tobacco too. The business has been family owned and operated for three generations. It's a great place to sit a spell, smoke and socialize.

A fantastic Cigar Lounge! Made my first visit today and I am confident many more will follow. Very well organized walk-in humidor with a large selection of cigars. Family owned and operated with a large two-story smoking Lounge in a variety of seating areas some of which face large screen TVs for sporting events and such. Matthew at the register is a super nice guy and very helpful. I met many of the regulars today who were all very friendly and welcoming. The staff is excellent and the all members before you treat you like one of their own. The staff not only caters to the experienced cigar smoker but to everyone that steps foot through their doors! Monte’s Cigar Shop provides an excellent selection of cigars and other tobacco related products, including pipe tobacco, cigarette rolling tobacco, humidors, and other smoking accessories. More importantly, they provide a friendly environment to enjoy cigars, particularly in the private-membership Gurkha Cigar Lounge. The staff members are all friendly, both able to provide information about their products and willing to create a comfortable environment where a sense of community can flourish. Membership in the Cigar Lounge at Monte’s is well worth the cost. Anyone living in Albuquerque or just visiting should check out the lounge at least once (day passes are available for a small fee). The lounge has comfortable chairs sofas, along with various types of tables, creating a great environment for many types of activities which go along with enjoying a fine cigar: from working in the semi-private office downstairs, having conversations in the sitting room, hanging out with other serious professionals around the tables upstairs, playing games, or just watching one of the big screen TVs. They have the best cigar collection I have seen in Albuquerque. The VIP area is great for gatherings or if you're looking for a nice place just to sit and be for a few hours, while smoking that great cigar you just picked up. They usually have pastries and coffee which both go well with said cigar. On a side note they also carry really nice pipes and pipe tobacco so if you're not a cigar smoker they may have something that may interest you. If anything come down for the good conversation, the laughs and a warm welcome! Also if you have a friendly furry friend, they are also welcome!
