I’ve been coming here for years! Note- they only work on tires so don’t go there looking for car work. They are really efficient and affordable. One time I had a screw in my tire and one of the workers pulled it out, told me it didn’t puncture the tire and I’m good to go (no charge). Just recently went there to plug a hole in my tire and was in and out for $18. Will always keep coming back here!

Third time here. In and out in little time. Friendly and polite staff. Good prices. Plugs only - no patches. Getting in is a little tricky because you may need to block a lane of traffic and or a bike lane with your car while you wait in line to enter the bay. Don’t forget to tip your tech!

I got a tire blow up while driving to work. Got off the exit to Mac’s and they fixed it right away. Great prices and great service. I often have to wait for a shop to get my tire size, but they had good inventory of tires. I will come back here.

When I arrived there was a long line leading into the street so I thought I’d be there all night. Instead the line started moving very quickly because they work on 3cars at a time. They are very fast but also patient with customers explaining every step of the way. I left with a new tire at an affordable price and new knowledge on how much air should be in my tire and how often to check. A very professional and friendly guy named Jay made my experience perfect.

Ordered 4 tires over the phone on Wednesday afternoon with a $50 deposit easily made from my phone via a text they sent. Received a text the next morning saying tires were in. Drove in around noon, walked a block over to Union Market and had some tacos. Returned 30-45 mins later and drove off with my new tires installed. Excellent customer service from the ladies who handled my call and checked me out. They were professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. Tire prices were very reasonable as well.

My tire popped on the raggedy D.C. streets last night 🙄 but I was grateful to remember that Mac’s is open 24 hours. After I got a spare on, I made it to Mac’s and they were not only able to put on new tires, but they actually had the brand to match my back to tires. It had been a few years since my last visit but just as I remembered, the customer service was great and the guys knew what they were doing! Best of all, it was quick!

I've never had anything but the absolute best service there, no matter the hour. During my last visit, the mechanic shared some useful information about my truck's tires and urged me to follow up with my dealership. The whole service took less than 30 minutes, 15 in line and 15 for the patch. Their cashier was friendly and helpful, too. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent service…. Technician found a tire leak in a few minutes that other business’s claimed they couldn’t find. Tire repaired and money saved from not having to purchase a new tire for a tire that’s less that two years worn. 24/7 service is a plus. I have never had a faster vehicle maintenance experience. I got there early and had only a few cars before me in line. I needed two new tires and it was 20 minutes from getting out of my car to driving away. They were so fast and efficient and answered all my questions patiently. Understand, Mac‘s is what they advertise to be so if you’re expecting someone to sit down and debate tire types and explain pros and cons, go somewhere that doesn’t promise drive through, efficient work as their goal. They were everything I needed them to be and answered further questions I had after the fact very promptly. Big fan

Best Tire Service in DC! Had an emergency and they had me back to normal in 30 minutes (including my wait time). The guys know their stuff, the service is top notch, and the prices are better than any of the other places we called (we called 3 other places before someone recommended Mac’s to us)

I am so thankful that I got my first flat tire directly across the street in Union market. With so much construction in DC I knew the time would come & I was nervous about it. I called Mac’s and they told me to come over (woman on the phone was very kind). I got in line (very cool drive through setup), Took 45 minutes total of wait & working time (there were 4 cars ahead when I arrived). Put a new tire on for $150. And i resumed my day. I will be back in a few weeks to replace my other tires as it’s time & I now have a great place to go!

I needed a quick fix on a leaking tire. I appreciated that the technicians spent time reshaping the rim so that they could fix my existing tire rather than charge me for a new one. I am quite used to mechanics attempting to up-sell, so this was a pleasant change. There was a bit of a wait time (~40 minutes), but that is to be expected for anywhere that has outstanding service, offers good prices, and operates on a first-come, first-serve basis. I will certainly come back with any tire issues in the future.

I’ve been using Mac’s for decades, since before online reviews existed. They have always been prompt, efficient, fair, trustworthy, honest. I know when I go to Mac’s I can trust their evaluation and advice and know I will get a solution that is a best choice for me. It is great to still have an old school business to patronize that looks out for their client, instead of trying to fleece their customers. Plus, they make repairs on the spot, in a surprisingly short time, while you wait.

Each visit the work has been thorough and the staff appears to be knowledgeable. However, adjust your expectations for time spent. Each time I have waited 15-25 minutes after completion to leave due to a vehicle in front and behind me taking much longer to service than mine. So even if a minor issue, I now factor in at least an hour from the time the work starts on the vehicle. If more than the 2nd vehicles behind in line, I’d consider other options unless it’s an emergency or you are prepared for at lease a 90 minutes or more wait.

We blew a tire on 95 coming from Delaware headed to South Carolina and it happen right over the line in Virginia. I googled 24hr tire service and Mac’s popped up. They definitely saved our butts. They were only 25 minutes from us and so we made the trip to their shop and they had our tire in stock which is a rare tire. The tech was amazing and fast and the lady running the office was very pleasant and the prices were great as well. If you blow a tire this is the place to go!!!!

I got a flat on a Friday night. I was dreading the idea of going to one of the few places open on a Saturday, but wanted to get it over with. After about a 15-minute wait, a 20-minute service, and a bill that didn’t make my head spin, I had two new tires and was on my way. If I could give 1 million stars, I would. There’s a bit of a wait but they get to you quickly. I had three nails in my tire somehow during my trip too DC; they were able to fix the tire for only $20. I still have to get it replaced, but I was able to make it back to Baltimore safely.

The associate was able to quickly assess the issue and remedy the problem immediately without any hassle. The longest part of my visit was waiting in line from my car for clearance to exit because the first car in the queue had an issue that took a bit more time. Mac's is an amazing establishment that is providing a service in a way that people don't realize until they need it. Johnny paid attention to my requests and payed enough attention to detail to spot 2 cracks in my rim and put sealer to prevent air escaping. They truly care about residual business and they show it with great customer service!

My tire was completely flat at 3pm I was on an emotional roller coaster from 3pm - 6:46 pm I learned about Mac Tire and arrived not knowing if my tires could be replaced fixed or what! When I drove into the garage area. I was greeted by the mechanic who checked my tire but, it was his professional courteous demeanor and excellent customer service and communication that calmed me and reassured me that the tire on my vehicle could be fixed or replaced. Had a flat and needed to get it repaired or replaced same day. Went to Mac’s on a Sunday afternoon. Found out tire was not repairable but they offered a new and used tire. I choose the used tire as a temporary fix and was on my way. Pricing was very reasonable and I was in an out in an hour. Def recommend!

This place is the greatest. Before you get hustled for hundreds of dollars, let these tire experts assess your situation and make recommendations on what/where to purchase any/all parts of your tire. I rarely give anywhere a 5 star rating but Mac's is on of those no fuss no muss kinda places. Come in and get a tire plugged at any time period. I've come home from work and seen I have a nearly flat tire and headed over there to get it patched in 30 minutes. Lines are unpredictable but I've never had to wait more than 45 minutes.

Mac’s is one of the best parts of living in a city- open 24 hours, fast, reliable and reasonably priced tire repairs/changes. For work, I am often around construction sites, so nails in a car tire are bound to happen. Luckily, I know I can always depend on Mac’s to patch my tires up and get me back on my way. The tire techs are always professional, in an upbeat mood (even in the super early morning!) and I love the music they have playing. The only “challenge” I’ve ever had is that the car queue can sometimes look a bit long at busy times, but the tech guys take 3 cars at a time and are fast, so I’ve never really waited longer than 20 minutes. Definitely recommend going to Mac’s for all your tire repair/change needs.

MAC'S No matter what time you have a flat tire there is always Mac's to serve you. These guys are very pleasant to customers even when the customer is not to them. With the diversity in the neighborhood I am so happy that this location has not been taken away. As a community we should invest in our businesses and uplift the ones that mean a lot. This location to me growing up in DC is a historic location. It would be great for us to invest in a face lift for them, but it probably wouldn't be the same. Also I believe we should remove the dividers so traffic can continue to flow, since the construction is right in this area for more high rises "OMG" and the other lane has still plates, not to safe for traffic and a way to get a flat Lol. Had my car towed to Mac for a tire replacement. I wasn’t told I had to be there to get the work done, if though I had an over the phone discussion with a rep. When I arrived 3 hours later no work was done. The car was moved out of the line and into an alley, risking damage to the rim. Upon arrival it was explained to me I had to be there for the work to be done and I was told to drive the car around the block and renter the line, farther risking damage to the line. We compromise, I jacked the car up, using my Jack, took the tire off and took it into the shop where it was promptly replace and then mounted to the car by a very nice and friendly attendant. What started out badly was turned into an acceptable situation, thank for that. The price of the replacement tire was reasonable and it included labor All in all, I give them a 4/5 for making a bad situation right (and they were all nice and friendly during a tense situation

When the low tire pressure signal came on the night before my surgery, I was tempted to ignore it. But y husband thought I should get it checked and good thing I did. The pressure was 12 psi (instead of 33) and when I went to put air in it, the valve snapped off and the tire deflated almost immediately. Glad I wasn’t on the road at the time. Triple A came and out the spare on it and then told me about a place nearby to fix the valve-easy. We’ll not si much. The place was closed and it was getting very late and I had to be up early the next morning for surgery. I didn’t want to be dealing with this, then or later. Do I went home. Three days later I knew we still had to get the tire fixed. I called the dealership and they said it would cost $300 and I could get an appointment in two weeks! I was not happy. And then I went in line and started reading the reviews of Macs tires. Everyone had told me how expensive it would be in the city. I called them and the woman answering the phone was courteous and knowledgeable. She told el a valve would be $10-15 unless it was a sensing valve which would be around $100. She said we could come in any time. I couldn’t believe it right away and a fraction of the cost. But could they fix it? We drove to Macs and had a little wait as it was early evening in a Friday night. When we got into the bay, the repair guy, Zachary, explained to us the situation, would see if he could reprogram the car to the sensing valve they had, as they didn’t have the exact one as our dealership. He spent considerable time, was extremely thorough and explained things every step of the way. And then he said he could do it and he did it. Just like that! I thought the bill was going to be considerably higher as he had to spend so much time researching the part, reprogramming to the car, etc. it wasn’t. It was what they had estimated. I can’t tell you how impressed we were with them. Everything written in previous reviews was our experience: knowledgeable, competent, honest, fair and direct. We have to replace the battery now in one of sensing valve tire and there is no question where we go - to Macs! Lucky me I’ve never had to replace a tire before and thanks to Macs, they made the whole process seamless and easy. They will be our forever place to go to for tire service! I have had the pleasure of having my tires replaced by Mac’s Tire Shop three times now. Each time I have came to them with a flat tire late at night, long past when all other shops are closed. Most recently was last night, November 4th. I was doing doordash deliveries when I heard the god awful sound of air rushing out of my tire, the second I heard this I pulled out my phone to see how far I was from Macs Tires. Since I had been there in the past and received such amazing and quick service there was no doubt in my mind that I was going back to Macs that night. Though there is often a line of cars, do not let this deter you from choosing them!!! It always moves incredibly fast!! From the time I got in line (4 cars in front of me) until I was pulling out on my new tire, no more then 20 minutes had passed. Every employee here is extremely knowledgeable and will get you right as fast as possible. Macs is unmatched, friendliness, quality work, extremely fair prices, not to mention being open 24/7!! There truly is no better tire shop in the whole DMV, and probably in the entire country to be quite honest. Thankyou for your great service yall, your truly a group of life savers.

I discovered 2 nails in my rear tire on a late Saturday afternoon in December. I arrived at MAC'S and received prompt attention and service. Even though the nails had punctured the tread...there was no leakage. Hugo showed me the results and there was no need for tire repair. I gave Hugo a good tip...and was sent on my way.

Blew a tire and looked all over to try to find a place that'd fix it the next day - contacted Mac's and they texted me that they have my tires in stock and are open 24/7 so come by anytime. I can’t believe there was a place at 10 p.m. on a Thursday that I could get two new tires in very little time. You can tell they put a premium on customer service (hence all the 5 star reviews) — there was a bit of a line to get in (which I think is just luck of the draw) but it moved fairly quickly and once I was being serviced it took no time at all. There was no hard sell or up sell, I was given good advice on how my tires were faring and what my best options were. And the prices were more than reasonable. And everyone was incredibly nice. This will definitely become my go-to.

I would give Mac’s Tire Service a ten star review if I could. I had a tire issue at 11 o’clock at night. I went through a few tow truck issues trying to get my vehicle there and did not arrive until about 2:30 or 3 o’clock in the morning. These folks at the shop were absolutely amazing. They were polite they were kind and understanding of my grief and they got the job done quickly with quality. These folks treat you better at 3 o’clock in the morning then most shops treat you at a 9 to 5 tire outlet .The next time I get tires I’m not gonna wait for an emergency. I highly recommend Mac's tire service. My back tire was not keeping air. I brought it to the dealer, my warranty should cover all getting new wheels. The dealership told me I had hit something, so not covered by warranty tried to charge me $200. I felt my dealership was ripping me off. I needed a new tire right away. I went into Google maps, saw macs tire service had the highest ratings in the area. I went in and asked to buy a new tire , the guy told me $130 but insisted he look at it because it will be much cheaper if he can fix it. The guy in 1 minute, throw the tire soapy water, pop it on a machine took a silver screw out which was stuck in the wheel which was why the tire kept loosing air . He said the theading is still fairly new no new tires needed. It cost me only $15 to fix instead of the $130 to buy a new tire. Fast, friendly and honest plus open 24hrs . If i have any tire needs Ill be back

It’s a bit of an interesting set up, because it’s first-come-first-served, you stay in your car the entire time (which is nice!), but there’s not a lot of space to wait if there’s a long line. Open 24 hours for tire service on Florida Ave, only a few blocks from Gallaudet College and Nomar metro station. This location has been a favorite for over 20 years. There is no parking lot. Cars line up in que on a first come bases and turn into the bay area for service. Credit cards are accepted, prices are good and the crew is attentive. On 11.12.17 at 230a I returned to replace one of two slashed tires. Dennis the service guy, that works the night shift for years, was quick, patient, helpful and kind. I was driving on a donut because my tire was slashed on 495 by something that not only caused my tire to explode but also cracked my wheel rim. All in all I had to order everything because no one had my tire or wheel. Taken aback when I saw the line was backed up on to the streets by several cars - must be a popular place for tire service! Returned the next morning hoping for a shorter line and was still fourth in line. Total time in line and repair was less than 20-25 minutes; the cost way below what I had expected; and the service was professional and cordial! Overall, I am very pleased with Mac's Tire Service though I would say it may be wise to calling ahead to check on the number of customers waiting in line before going if you have time constraints.

This last incident I hit a curb ( don't ask) and I was able to have my tire replaced quickly. The fact that they offer used tires allows you to replace a tire pretty inexpensively. First trip to DC-hit a curb, popped a tire. Tow company recommended me to Mac’s (they had my specialty tire) and after a bit of a wait (it was a busy Sat) they were able to mount a new tire to my rim (there was no fixing my tire-the curb had split the sidewall) and they had me all fixed up and ready to go for less than what a new tire without the labor would have been back home! This place is unmatched! I stopped in today with a tire that was completely flat, and was seen quickly by Jay who was not only a pro, but super cool and kind. Because I was curious, he walked me through the steps of plugging up my 19" M3 tire. The team there is so friendly - and everyone in the bay and at the cash register was super professional. They make it easy for the customer (making sure my car was kept out of the rain, so I would not get wet going in and out), their prices are right, and they even provide an option to tip via credit card. I was done in 20 minutes and I hope I don't have to return, of course... but if I ever get another flat, Mac's will be my go-to.

Very knowledgeable staff and open to answering questions, for me anyway. My tire went flat at work and I had my car towed to Mac's and the guy inspected my tire and told me there was no leak in my tire. He could've not told me anything and tried to sell me a tire anyway (essentially stealing my money) but they didn't do that, they were honest and I was able to save over $100 due to their honesty. All I needed was a rim seal rather than a new tire and that was done for me in a matter of 10 to 15 minutes. A GREAT experience for me at Mac's on this day.

I've gone to Mac's more times than I can count over a decade and a half of living in NE DC. I've come in with low tires that had screws or nails in them and left with perfect repairs that cost a shockingly low amount. Yesterday I came in with two tires so low I was basically driving on my rims and I was quickly outfitted with two used replacement tires and on my way. The service techs are always really nice, and they've even recently added a convenient system with a tablet right next to the checkout window where you can tip your tech. Hard to overstate just how grateful I am for this place and for the men and women who have made it run so smoothly for years.

Mac's was a lean, mean, tire rippin' machine. 3 cars at a time roll in to the main hub and get their order taken. Roll in on a flat or that dreadful donut and roll out on brand new treads in no time at all. Legit drive through like Jiffy Lube or Valvoline but for your tires. Lazy people like me just get to pull up and stay in the car!!! I won't be going anywhere else for tires anymore. They're up close and personal, so unique requests are no problem. I had 1 good tire on the back they couldn't match on the spot that time, so I had them put the good tire in my trunk and put on two news that matched for balance. Next time I'll order the one ahead of time and save on one tire. The best 👌

Super easy experience with Macs. I managed to hit a curb and blow a tire in my brand new vehicle. I called ahead and Macs ordered the tire I needed, they texted me it had arrived in less than 24 hours, then I just stopped by that evening and they replaced it. If you need to plug a tire or replace one (or more), Mac’s gets you in and out quickly! The cost of the tire is the same as what I would have paid in the burbs. They did not have the tire I needed onsite, so I ordered one to be delivered later that afternoon. They said it would be there between 1pm and 4pm, and around 230pm, they let me know that it had arrived. I drove to the site and they installed the tire right away. It maybe took 20-30 minutes. Instead of just replacing the tire and taking my $200+, the technician double checked the issue and found out the stem valve was the problem. He replaced the stem valve for $17 and I was on my way. I am posting a review after I had to go to Mac’s Tire for a second time in 5 years. I wished I didn’t keep getting nails in my tires but this is DC which is one big construction site so nails on the roads is a common occurrence. I love that Mac’s is open 24/7 , I went on a Sunday at noon after Christmas Day 2021. There was no line, you can just drive your car straight from the street into their work shop. The technician was friendly, knew what he was doing and I was in and out in 10 minutes. You can pay by card, you can tip the technician by card as well. Cost me approximately 17:86 cents or so for the tire patching. Hearty recommend them.

Hands down best place to go to if you have tire problems. Just so you know they first come first serve and are OPEN 24/7 literally! I went in a 4am with only 1 car ahead of me. But I went in because my tire keep leaking air randomly, I fill it up and it was back to normal then some days later it’ll leak again. Mac’s was able to find the hidden nail in my tire, patch it up and I was on my way. Best part is, they aren’t like other shops where they try to pressure you into BS services. They do what they need to and get you going all with 15 mins too. Mac’s is the go to for the DMV area and the pricing is best around.

So picture this: a twenty year old college student pulls up with two busted tires and bent rims because I smoked the curb in a rental. I looked at this place and instantly knew I would be in good hands. The nice lady working the register could tell I had no idea what I had to do because it was my first time dealing with this in the city so she came over and helped me out right away which made me feel so much better. I got in line at Mac’s Tire shop at 7:00pm. After 57 minutes I finally moved into the service area. My tire issue was resolved with a brand new tire but the car in front of mine had some special needs. For an extra 15 minutes, I watched and waited before my visit to Mac’s finally came to an end at 8:45pm. Of all my previous visits, this time was slowest because my tire specialist was teaching the other guy. I’m happy to support small businesses and I will return but I learned last night not to wait an hour for service. I wish “customer service” included wait time estimates, and thanking the customers for our patience. Thank you.

I love Macs! I first found them a couple years ago and have returned many times since. It seems like the rest of DC has caught on because when I went there at 6:00 a.m.; after a night of fun and adventure on the town I discovered a hunk of metal in my tire that needed some attention. And at 6:00 a.m. I wasn't the only person in need of repair and there was a line too long for me to wait at those hours. Came back the next day in the afternoon and there were even more people in line, triple the amount! So while I highly recommend their service if you want to avoid the line there is a just as awesome friendly and quick service across the street. I was able to drive right over and get served immediately and the guy that took care of me made me laugh a couple times.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. Lived here for 5 years and drove by this place many times and always thought it looked sketchy because it was dark and open 24/7. I was so so so wrong… I got a screw in my tire the other day and needed it patched. Went here and there was 4 cars in front of me on a Sunday. Waited about an hour until it was my turn in the drive though. Explained my situation. Hugo took great care of me and patched my tire in under 5 minutes. Cost me about $17 which is VERY reasonable. If you need any tire work done, go to this place. Service is quick and customer service is a delight!

Mac’s is my place to go for reliability, honesty, well-priced, fast, and friendly tire support. When my daughter was visiting from out of town last spring and had a tire issue, I sent her to Mac’s. She had the same great experience that I have had. The other day one of my tires wasn’t holding air. I saw a screw in it.Took it to Mac’s, no one ahead of me in line and I was done in 10 minutes at a cost of $21! Not only did they remove the screw and plug the hole but while inspecting the tire they found a second screw, which they removed and plugged.

Really happy with my experience. I hit a curb in the DC area and ended up with a flat on a Saturday night. The tow truck driver suggested Mac's since they're open 24/7. I got dropped off and entered the line. It was maybe an hour wait to get to the front of the line. The tech sized my tire, informed me of my cost options (new vs. used--he was very apologetic that there were no used tires for me, but I hadn't known that was an option, so I wasn't upset, and the new tire cost was the same as I usually pay for a tire, which surprised me--no upcharge that I could tell for it being a 24 hour shop). He was done in 10-15 minutes. Once he was done, I paid and was on my way. The techs and cashier were super nice once I got to the front of the line. If you go, expect to wait and be treated well once it's your turn.

I was in DC for the weekend and tore my tire on a curb. I didn’t want to just call AAA to put my spare on since I would be driving 2+ hours home on the highway. I looked up Mac’s and saw the great reviews. I called and asked if I could get the tire looked at and they said come on in. Since it’s first come first served drive in they said they expected a 30-40 minute wait but I probably waited only 10 minutes before talking with someone and was out of there in less than 45 minutes with a new tire and air in the others. The price of the new tire was also better than I have seen anywhere else. Highly recommend Mac’s!

Mixed review because I had one good experience followed by a terrible one the next day. I brought my truck in for four new tires and had a pleasant experience with good customer service and fast work. The next day however one of my tires was completely flat. I hadnt driven it since the new tires were put on. I pumped it up and discovered valve stem was leaking badly. I quickly drove to macs before the tire deflated. The tech tightened the valve stem but then charged me for the work. I had assumed this would be covered under the work warrenty. I had had no leaks in that tire before getting the new tires. The service window person just said it will be 15 dollars with explaining why i had to pay. I had told her that i got new tires the day before. I had also forgotten my wallet because i left for the shop so quickly. I then got into an argument with the tech about why i had to pay. Maybe I'm wrong but even if as he said that the stem was dirty, if it came loose while the tire was being changed it should be on the shop to fix it. *** Update on the above review. One of the owners called me out of the blue and apologized for how things were handled the second day. She was extremely respectul and understanding and I feel better about the experience now. Mac's will be getting my business in the future. Thank you.

Honestly this place is just a gem. They are always there when you them, literally! The hours and location are super convenient. Sometimes you have to wait and other times you can pull right in but there is no way to control that. However, once it’s your turn, they are quick and efficient. I have been there now at least 3 times and I’m always done within an hour. Everyone is super nice and to the point! No extra frills or upsells, just what you came in for and you are out the door! Many tire places in the h street corridor exude shadiness, with pricing depending on a handwritten. Receipt and zero customer service. This is not one of those! They were happy to answer any questions and all pricing is posted on a list price sheet at the cashier. Speaking of pricing the price they quoted for a bit of an odd request swapping rims and balancing tires was extremely competitive with any other place I had seen in the area (even outside the district in the suburbs!). Highly recommend them as the go to place for tires in this part of the city!

I arrived early on a cold Saturday am with a couple of old tires and a persistent check tire light. The guys at Mac’s Tire Service worked hard and fast and I left with two new tires and more air in the remaining tires. They have a cue even at 7:30am and on day when it was 17degrees, but they worked super hard to clear it without rushing anyone’s job.

If I could leave a 6-star review I would. I had a slow leak in a tire for a few months and finally went to Mac’s based on the good reviews. They spotted a small nail and another piece of metal in the tire that were causing the leaks, removed them, plugged the leaks, and sent me on my way in less than 15 minutes. All for $20. I would recommend them to anybody.

I've used Mac's twice to fix tire punctures. Both times they did a great, quick job at a very reasonable price. The drive thru nature of the shop was slightly confusing the first time I visited, but very simple once you understand how it works. There is no parking lot, you just pull into the shop directly from Florida Ave, they fix the tire, and you pull out the rear side into the alley.
