Came in with an unrepairable flat tire in the late afternoon. Was immediately greeted and advised they would check to see if they had the correct size tire. I had 2 brand choices and the shop could replace the tire immediately. I subsequently bought 2 tires and they were installed within 1/2 hour. I was back on the road within 20 minutes of 1st contact. Excellent service and I'll be back for 2 more of the same tire so all 4 will match. Thanks Pep Boys! Great job and customer service!

Last night I picked up a roofing nail in one of my tires: after I swapped the spare onto the car, I looked for a tire repair center close to my South Philly home. I had the option to pick from two locations, and I selected this one because the customer ratings were significantly higher. I believe my choice was well worth it! Alanna and Mike at the counter were friendly, professional, and up-front about costs of parts and labor, and gave a reasonable estimated turnaround time based on the volume of work in the shop. As I waited in the lobby area, I overheard them both doing a tremendous job of answering customer calls politely and respectfully, and creating a great atmosphere of "can do" for their clients. My tire replacement was finished ahead of the estimated time of completion, and for a very reasonable cost. I feel like it's worth a minute or two of my time to make sure they get recognized for doing a great job, and if I need this type of work done in the future I'll definitely use this shop again.

We had a tire emergency this evening (or so we thought) and took our car into the nearest Pep boys location which happened to be at Columbus Ave. They informed us based on their current volume there was only a 50% chance they would get us in tonight. We called to the location on S. Broad to see if they had availability. They accommodated our request despite being pretty busy and went out of their way to assist us. Luckily whatever had been in our tire must have fallen out at some point so we ended up not needing a repair but the technician still thoroughly inspected everything and gave us advice in the event the situation occurs again. We will most definitely bring our car back for future services knowing we can trust that we will be well taken care of and receive top-notch customer service at this location.

Needed to get tires replaced and ended up getting the full set replaced here several months ago. Went to our usual car shop for our annual inspection and were told that all the tires were put on reversed - while not a safety concern, this apparently makes them wear our faster. Our car mechanic actually guessed that we had gotten the tires from Pep Boys because they’ve seen this before… UPDATE - Pep Boys reached out quite promptly (see below) and fixed our tires and gave us a free inspection and oil change, which was appreciated.

The guys at pep boys are great! I dropped my car off for an oil change and to inspect my tire without an appointment and they had it set and ready just a couple hours later for me to come and grab it. Everybody was kind and helpful during my service.

This place is really really great. I ordered my tires online and got an appointment for 8 am on a Saturday. When I got there that morning they told me that because they were ordered online and not by the store they don’t have them in stock, I was thinking “crap, what am I going to do now, I have a spare and can’t really go too far.” Without me asking, the attendant called another local pep boys, which had them in stock, and said they would go get them, put them on at the one I was at, and then sent me home in a Lyft that they paid for and called when they were done. They turned what could have been a frustrating nightmare into a really great experience. I could tell they really cared about their craft and I will definitely be coming back, but I’ll skip the online order and just go to them directly.

Awesome! Called to have a headlight replaced, and I was worried that I would not be able to get in, being the end of the month and they would be booked up with inspections. Rakeem was amazing! Hold me to come by and said he could fix it right away. Turns out the bulb wasn’t even out - it was just a wiring issue! He wiggled the wire with a magic touch, and BAM! Problem solved! He really saved me in a pinch and saved me the cost of having the whole thing replaced. He was so kind and helpful. Thank you for the excellent service! I will definitely be back to this location. I don’t remember his name, I think it was Mike? Let’s call him Mike. Wearing a white shirt and blue jeans on 6/2. They were understaffed when I came in to pick up my vehicle, Mike was working in the bay, the guy who was in the Lobby, i forget his name too (think it ends in elle?) called to Mike and asked him if he would be able to work on my oil change next (silver civic) and no hesitation Mike said yea. They said it would be done in 45 minutes, and pretty much on the dot I got a call that my car was ready. Everyone is super friendly both days I’ve gone and probably will go back instead of taking my car to the dealership. Thanks again for the fast friendly service.

Last week we found an unexpected flat tire on our car. Luckily we live right down the street from this Pep Boys location. The service was amazing- they immediately took our car in, called us to update us on service needs and explain why they needed to take certain actions, and efficiently got us out of there. I have never posted an optional review for anything before in my life. On my first trip to the Pep Boys on Broad Street, I received wonderful service from all of the employees, including Michael L. They were kind, funny, friendly, and provided me with clear communication about my car throughout, making it a surprising pleasure to get my car serviced. Upon picking up my vehicle, I was charged the exact amount I was quoted and my vehicle was in great condition. While being checked out by Michael L on Monday, July 18, another customer arrived and began acting and speaking so erratically and disrespectfully toward the staff, that I was compelled to write this review. Immediately upon entering the door she began using derogatory, offensive, and inappropriate language toward Michael L. She threatened to not pay for her services, and made absurd requests. I do not know any details of her services, but I know nothing warranted the behavior she displayed. The staff continued to clearly communicate about her services, though she did not appear to respond to reason and continued escalating. Based on the entirety of my experiences at the Pep Boys on South Broad, I will be solely frequenting this location for any and all of my vehicle needs.

This is not quite the Pep Boys on used to Pep Boys I'm used to is either on Oregon Avenue or in Delaware County also one on Lindbergh Boulevard I really like those places because they are easy to shop at and pleasant Personnel behind the counters and always willing to help this particular one was much different the help decided that I was a bother to them looking for tire repair kit but I guess they were just busy I think I would recommend this place if they weren't that busy. Had a great experience! I booked for an oil change and general maintenance and accidentally went to the wrong location (Christopher Columbus Blvd.). By the time I realized my mistake I was already 20-30 minutes late for my appointment! I called the correct location and they could not have been nicer or more helpful. They were happy to move things around to squeeze me in and I was able to drop my car off no problem. The customer service was great and everyone I dealt with was happy and helpful! Beyond the customer service the services were actually affordable! All that aside, I work in Center City and the location was very accessible and was only a 5 minute subway ride away from my office. Can't recommend enough!

My mom had a flat tire crisis. She is elderly and we found this store. Michael and Alanna were wonderful. Michael was incredibly reassuring that it would all be okay. Not only did they take her immediately, their suggestive selling put my mom back in the driver's seat. They put two new tires on and addressed alignment issues. In the end she saved about 30% of what she would have paid at the dealership. Thanks so much, youse guys rock!

Mike was wonderful. I came in around 6pm to get new brakes and an oil change and he helped me get in and out within an hour. The new manager Mike seems to be professional and tried to accommodate each customer that walked into the store, Angel was friendly and explained what service I needed before work was started. I hope this store keeps offering good service, so customers will feel comfortable to come back for service. My job took about 5-hours but when you have great customer service you are able to ignore the waiting time.

Brought my car in for an oil change. Was nice to be greeted with an awesome Good Morning from the service manager. (Melva). Raymond the technician was very helpful in answering my questions. Carlos and Jahrelle were excellent. I came in with a flat tire and with the free inspection they found out that my rear brakes were completely shot. I also loved that the mechanic was a woman and she came out and explained everything to me in a non-condescending way. As a woman, it was really nice not only seeing a female mechanic (yay queen!) but to also. not be spoken down to. The wait was. bit long, but they were so helpful and thorough.

Got my tire changed here today. I ended up here after the store on Columbus Blvd tried to price gouge me. They were awesome. I had to wait, but now a days that's pretty much the norm since people don't like to work like they're supposed to. I had a road hazard warranty, and the lady here (Melba) got me squared away with NO CHARGES to me (the other pep boys said it would be like $400 🙄). I very much appreciate their professionalism. I'd recommend this place.

It totally slipped my mind that my inspection was due since I rarely drive my car. I called a few minutes before they opened and Jahrelle answered. I explained my situation and he put in a reservation for me to bring my vehicle in right away. Upon arrival he was pleasant and professional. Although there was a lot of traffic due to a parade in the city making it difficult for people to get to the store, he took it in stride -- I think it was his 3rd day. With his attitude, he should be noted as a keeper by Pep Boys!

My tire slowly kept loosing air and I thought I would need a new tire. I went to Pep Boys on South Broad Street It was the first time I delt with them . They were very nice. I just dropped off my car for inspection and to see if they can help me with my engine. This is my first car so I always dread going to the auto shop due to my sheer ignorance. Alanna at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure I understood everything and even walked me though renewing my registration. As a new driver/car owner, I didn't even realize these items have to be renewed regularly. I was so embarrassed but instead of making me feel dumb, Alanna went the extra mile and helped me renew the registration and print an updated insurance policy card. The whole experience made me feel like Pepboys looks out for their customers and want to help. I don't even care if my car fails the inspection at this point, I am just so grateful that Alanna took time out of a busy day to make sure I was taken care of not just for now but for the future. Best experience at a Pepboys ever!

I unfortunately fell victim to catalytic converter theft and Pep boys was really helpful throughout the repair process. My insurance company gave me the run around and I unfortunately was unable to have the car repaired at the shop however, Melba and Mike provided exceptional customer service as they walked me through the estimates. 7/26/2020 -- My check engine light, oil light, brake light, & traction control light were all lit. So I showed up Wednesday morning to see what could be done with what money I had. I was told that my car couldn't be looked at until around noon because there were others who had to be taken care of 1st, so I & my mother chose to wait in the car. Waiting in the car as hot as it was caused the guy working the counter to allow us to wait in the air-conditioned waiting area even though that wasn't supposed to be allowed because of the pandemic. Anyway, after looking over my car, the diagnosis was that I needed an oil change, my gas cap more securely opened, my break line changed, new rear rotors & break shoes. The cost for testing & repairs came out to nearly $1,000! Signing up for the Pep Boys card made the oil change free. It was decided that while the rotors were rusty & the break pads worn, they would hold up a while longer as long as the break line was replaced. So that's what got replaced. That dropped the repair bill to around $584. This location wasn't big enough to carry all the parts it needs to repair cars, so they had to have the break line sent in from another location & then the mechanic had to bend the new break line in various places to fit it properly. He worked at it for hours. My mother & I arrived around 9am but didn't leave until around 5pm! But the brakes are working & the warning lights are all off.

Needed a jump. Walked over to this Pep Boys. Matt, the service manager, lent me the stores charger. Didn't ask for anything except I leave my licence till I returned it. (I left my phone as well.) I bought some tires from them a while back too. They got the tires on and rotated quickly while I waited. Good price, no hassle. Great customer service. Great bunch of guys. Since Pepboys is under new management, the tone and vibe of the store has changed. The new manager Melva is awesome. Answers all questions, makes sure the phones are still being answered even when she is busy with busy with customers. It seems more organized than before which caused me to leave. FYI...Melva knows her sh!t when it comes to cars. Do not underestimate her knowledge.

I was originally told it would be an hour to change my headlight, but a very nice mechanic told me he could do it quickly before he had to leave. He not only replaced my headlight, but also noticed my air filter was gross and replaced that as well. I appreciate is fast/efficient service and was very impressed! I barely had to wait.

We live around the corner from our this Pep Boys and bring our car for various things once or twice a year. They are always on time, they do a good job, they leave the car clean, and they are always attentive, responsive, and friendly And a couple of times that we really appreciate, they have gone out of their way to accommodate special requests. I like these folks and highly recommend them, and offer a special thanks to their former manager Eddy (I don't remember his last name) and their current manager Matthew Fleming.

Heard a lot of horror stories, but I had a pretty good experience. Came here for the 4 for 3 tire deal. They only had 3 of the tires I wanted, so I had planned to reschedule. But they were able to source a 4th from another store. They had my car on the lift pretty quickly and had my tires on within 2 hours. Overall, pretty happy with my experience.

Before coming to this shop, I had rarely used Pep Boys except for regular maintenance. My first experience with this Broad Street Pep Boys location came when I noticed I had a nail in my tire. I made it to the shop and they repaired my tire quickly without cost. Mike is the new manager and he is one of the best that I have worked with. Months later I had a squeaking sound in my right front tire area that steadily worsened. My local repair shop gave me an estimate of $1,700 and told me to replace all of the control arms and bushings. I called many shops in the Philadelphia area and decided to give this Pep Boys a shot. Since I needed my car to commute, I had to leave it over the weekend. The master tech's name is also Mike and he is very talented. They fixed the problem at a fraction of the cost (~$170) and I am very satisfied with the work. One recommendation that I have is to frequently communicate with the shop to make sure they meet your needs. I look forward to using this Pep Boys location for my future maintenance and repairs.

Since people always leave the bad, I feel I need to leave the good, the very good, working in South Philly and living in the far NE I walked out to a flat tire after work, I went to this Pep Boys and they were all the most friendliest and honest staff I have ever dealt with, they didn't rob me and were so honest and helpful, the entire crew was so respectful and courteous being a single mother on 1 income with the holidays coming they treated me fairly and with the utmost decency, would absolutely recommend this place and crew it is hard to find good, honest people and they definately changed my outlook on people today! I came to PepBoys to get my oil changed and tires checked . I was selling my car to a friend the following day. The PB team noticed quickly that my inspection had expired. I, of course, became very flustered at realizing my negligence. They were so kind -- they got everything done in a couple of hours -- inspection, tire check and oil change. I was so impressed with the team and their professionalism.. I drove out feeling comfortable that I was selling my friend a car ready for his long drive. Since this experience I have told numerous friends about this PepBoys garage -- I highly recommend it as a regular place for car maintenance. Professional and responsive. Great work PepBoys!

Staff were a bit short on welcome but I was there for a necessary service and it was provided. I had some concern about the correct part (a battery not readily available) and the manager was able to reassure me. A reservation was respected, so that my work was completed without a long wait. Excellent service defined.

Took my 1990 Chrysler New Yorker here. It had been shaking and vibrating funny, idling bad and recently smelling of gas. I took it to several mechanics around town to fix the vibration idle issue and none of them could figure it out, very frustrating. Decided to give Pep Boys a shot. Eddie at the desk took a look at it in the parking lot and had a hunch so I left it for the day. Frank, the mechanic, looked at it. I really was only expecting to get the gas smell fixed but Frank found the issue and stopped the bad idle as well, FINALLY a mechanic who takes their time and doesn't just rely on a diagnostic machine to tell them the problem (being that my car is a 1990, it won't normally register the proper codes anyways). Point is, I am so greatful to Frank and Eddie at Pep boys. If you're looking for a mechanic who goes the extra mile and cares about doing a quality job, go to this Pep Boys, and I would suggest you ask for Frank!
