Highly recommend Point S Tire. They had outstanding service and everyone was extremely friendly. They answered all my questions and they were very efficient. I just moved to AK less than a month ago and needed studded tires put on my car. I called yesterday and they held the tires for me until I could get there. Of all the tire shops we have used over our decades in Alaska these guys are the most pleasant, helpful and kind in the midst of tire change over season (honestly the other tire shops I have used have not been bad but they often seem stressed and curt, although economical may be more often descriptive). These guys take the time to be gracious and as helpful as needed. I ordered some tires they did not have in stock that came in late. We live in an area that is higher up and has steep, bad roads. They squeezed us in as soon as the tires came in. When I ordered the tires, the person I talked to was knowledgable about the advantages of the tires I asked about as well as other options. No pressure to buy one tire over another, just clean descriptions of differing advantages, disadvantages and why they were due to tire design. Next time I think I will just tell them what I need and let them tell me what tire I should get.

These are a bunch of guys working in a fast-paced tire shop in the middle of winter changeover season. You would expect them to be rushed and grumpy, right? Well, they ARE NOT! I got some of the best customer service I've gotten at any business in Anchorage. They were patient, flexible, kind, efficient, and I was just blown away. This place is AWESOME!!!!!! first all I do all my family’s vehicles oil changes. My daughter just bought her first car on her own. I was going to charge the oil. I got it in on the ramp and everything ready to go. All I needed to do was pull the drain plug. I tried and tried to remove it. After thinking about it I decided to call Anchorage Point S. I talked to mike and explained what was going on. He told me he’s seen this before and come on down and he would loosen it for me. When I got there I asked Mike who I spoke with on the phone. He got me right in and after 10 minutes I was on my was with a new one to chase it out after I drained the oil. Before leaving I asked how much I owed and he said it’s no problem. I haven’t seen this kind of service in years.

Update: After 2 months of driving on these tires in the ice, these are by far the best winter tires we have ever had, and for a great price! I hate driving on the ice, and actually feel comfortable driving this winter. We really liked the price for the tires, it is much cheaper than the same tires at other places in town. We originally had some issues with our vehicle after the installation and had to take it to our mechanic, and were pretty upset about it, however, after talking to the management at the store, the manager called our mechanic to discuss the issues and ended up paying for the repairs and apologized for the mistake. Thank you for owning up to the mistake and for rectifying the situation. We are pleased with the tires themselves and because of the experience with the management, we recommend this place both on Google and to our friends. Hopefully there will be some better quality control so that these things do not happen to other customers.

I have bought several sets of tires here and when I price shop they are always the best price, including the total price after install and balance. They were also accommodating to my requests. Also very happy with the fact that they offer wifi and tesla charging. They are ahead of the game compared to other shops

I recently took my 2020 GMC in for an alignment. My truck was in and out in a timely manor. I enjoyed watching and listening to the comradery among the staff while waiting in the very clean waiting room. While waiting a customer came in and complemented management on the attitude and friendliness of a shop tech that assisted him. I experienced the same! Great place, clean and great people. Highly recommended.

I went in to Point S as they offered alignments starting at around $100 bucks. This was pretty cheap compared to places around, plus other places required an appointment. This business runs on a first come, first serve basis. I showed up at 8am right at closing for an alignment as I have just lifted my truck. The tech started working on my truck right away and pulled me into the shop to literally show me the problems that were present. The tech was honest about every issue and provided me several options to fix the issues present. The tech was able to fix all the problems that were present after the lift, get my alignment perfectly aligned, and provide me with an amazing customer experience. I've never felt more comfortable with a shop working on my vehicles than what Point S provided. Point S will serve as my goto shop for ANY issues I have with my vehicle that I personally cannot resolve on my own. I highly recommend Point S to anyone that needs help with their vehicles.

Did a tire swap on existing wheels. Picked. Up the Nokian hakkapeliitta 10s. A great tire. Dropped off wheels and had them done the same day. Didn't have to leave the car there. Great customer service, checked their book for my car since changed tire size for a taller winter tire for clearance issues. There are none. ;)

This place is technically part of a national chain but the experience feels like a locally owned shop, which is great in my experience. The customer service at this shop is amazing. My Experience: I bought a replacement tire online and had it delivered to Anchorage Point S for installation. Quick and easy service with no issues. The original tire (less than 5,000 miles of wear) had a bulge and there was no evidence that impact caused the issue. I asked about submitting a claim to the manufacture regarding the possible defect, which Point S did on my behalf. After several weeks of back and forth with Hankook, including shipping a piece of the tire to Hankook, Hankook approved the warranty claim. I wouldn't have received any reimbursement if not for the diligence and patience of Loren, Kevin and various others. Thank you all! Can't recommend this place enough simply based on customer service.

They went above and beyond!!! I can't say enough about these folks. I absolutely loved my studded tires they installed for me in October (still do!) and brought my car in for what turned out to be a non-tire related issue that they resolved for me anyways. Kevin and Mike explained to me every step of their process and were extremely efficient and courteous. I even got to work on time (I thought I would be late but they took care of me right away) and told all of my participants about what a great experience I had here. It's like I have a whole new car. I feel safe and they made my day. I can't say enough. Definitely go here!!! Customer service is so important to me and these guys have me for life!

Another smooth summer-tire changeover, thanks, Point S! We have been coming here for years for our seasonal winter/summer tire changes, and we bought our last set of summer tires here. The staff is always friendly and professional (even to self-important people who show up near the end of the day and throw a fit because they aren't being put ahead of everyone who's been waiting), their prices are right, and they have free internet, coffee, popcorn, and TV if you choose to wait while your vehicle is being worked on. Plan ahead and get there early, as their day gets booked up fast during changeover season. We usually drop off our car and wait for a call when it's done.

Last winter, I had a rubbing wheel sound. I pulled into Point S and waited for the bad news. They came out and told me that it was just packed snow in the wheel, and removed the snow free of charge. They could've hit me up for anything, but they were honest and helped me a great deal. I told them that I would bring my business to them, as a way to show appreciation for their honesty. So, when the early snow hit Anchorage, I knew it was time to get winter tires. I got a set of Nokian Hakkepiiliita 9 tires today, for an awesome price! They ride great! The atmosphere is friendly, efficient, and I will return for sure!

We have not yet got anything installed yet,waiting for the order to come in. However very professional took the time to educate us about the different tires we were looking for (never used A/T before). Also Ryan was very patient with our questions we did not feel rushed. Just excited now to get everything on. Mos Def recommended place to go to.

A solid 4.5 Star, great service, nice and friendly staff, to be honest I wasn't really impressed with the style of my new tires though. But they will do until I need new ones, I should've ask if there were other styles besides the ones I got. Missed opportunity for them as well as I was willing to pay for my break pads to be changed on the same day. The tires were already being swapped with new ones, and I had new break pads sitting in my back seat ready to go, would've been a quick change for the breaks pads all in one go with the tires, a win/win for them and myself. But I didn't want to reschedule another day just to install them, I can do them at home. Would recommend this place. I was in the area and Auto Zone from across the street recommend them so I took their recommendation. There are other nearby Auto Shops near my home, so I may or may not revisit them anytime soon.

Just needed a simple tire patch for a small leak. Had never been in before and decided to give them a try. Phil was able to help me and was an awesome technician! Personable and alerted me to a minor bend in my wheel that I was not aware of. Will definitely be back to utilize this facility for any mechanical or tire/wheel issues I may have in the future. I'm very particular with my vehicles and custom wheels, there is normally only one tech in the state that i trust enough to do my tire work because I know his passion for his work. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get to that tech when I had a damaged tire. I decided to risk it and stop here to get it fixed and I'm glad I did. These guys were able to get me in quickly and did a great job fixing the tire, and going above and beyond to look over my truck, doing a quick inspection. The staff was knowledgeable and professional and I would absolutely recommend the shop to anyone looking.

I had Anchorage Tire Factory order a set of Hakkeppelita tires for my new vehicle. When I arrived, the staff were super friendly and helpful. They were accommodating to our Lexus GX which has air suspension by using a lift that would be better suited for such. Even though the sale was already made, as I had special ordered exactly what I wanted, they took the time to explain the technology of the tires and the features that make them stand out amongst the many other choices available to me. Thank you for the fantastic service guys!

Came here for an oil change and mount and balance. They took good care of me and did a thorough job. I was actually in the bay while they did the oil change, so was able to watch the service. No attempts to upsell me. The downside... $75 for an oil change. Just your standard 4-5 quarts of 5w30 conventional. Whoah! I already had my car in the bay and told them if they gave me a good deal on the mount and balance, it was all good. Mind you this was 10 degree weather, snowy, and my engine was piping hot. Not a day I would want to change my own oil. End of the day, they unmounted 9 tires, mounted and balanced 5, and actually got the tire pressure right. Not one protest about mounting my used tires that were slightly off spec. Loaded my other wheels into the truck. Charged just $40 for dealing with my wheels/tires that were sitting outside frozen. Appreciate it guys! Overall, nice staff and very good service. They did give me a good deal on the tire service. I cannot recommend a $70+ oil change, though.

Great tire shop. The second I walked in , Lauren front desk helped us out and recommended something different then we originally went in for. They had the tires I was looking for but she was so honest about those tires and told us they were not that great and found other tires that looked awesome on my power wagon and much more aggressive . I am very please with Anchorage Tire Factory. They are fast, easy and very understanding! I bought tires back in 2014 that had a warranty for 40 K miles and after one year, after 20 k miles they were shot and I needed new ones. I did not contact them for a year because I didn't need summer tires because of winter. So now in 2016, I asked them to honor the warranty and because I did get half life out of those tires, they are giving me 50% off a brand new set of tires! Thanks Anchorage Tire Factory!!!

I called this afternoon about a flat tire. Not even tires they put on my truck. I took the truck down to have the inner and outer beads checked. They found a leaky valve stem! They replaced it and had me back on the road in a half hour! Great customer service and an amazing group of guys! Thank you so much for the work! I'm always happy when I go see them!

The staff and service was outstanding and I do not say that lightly. My family and were heading out of town in our RV when I encountered tire issues. I thought I had to cancel the trip. Boys were disappointed. I tried the normal channels, Costco, Sam's Club, and Johnsons, but the late our did not give us too many options. Not only did they have the tires I needed in stock, they got them on their and within an hour we were on the road.

Great Staff, Fast Service, good prices. Been in Anchorage for 10 years and been to a bunch of automotive shops and tire shops. This place along with Superior Automotive and Phats Customs are my top 3. All are very knowledgeable and honest. I will start by saying I usually have good luck with The Tire Factory. However, I noticed a small nail in my tire and took it to the Old Seward Location to have it fixed. After several minutes I noticed the guy spraying my tire to try and locate the nail. He was having trouble because there was no leak, just a small nail. I went out and showed him where the nail was. After 45 minutes I began to wonder what was taking so long. He had drilled a hole in my tire to insert a plug however he didn't follow the nail hole, instead he drilled to the side towards my sidewall. So after installing two 1/4" plugs to fill a 1/16" nail hole the tire had developed a leak. They put the tire back on and told me I would have to buy 2 new tires. These are close to $400 each. No other resolution was offered. I will not be going back and would not recommend this location for any repair work. Update: The manager called me from his vacation and will be replacing the tire. This is the service I normally get from the tire factory.

The greatest experience I have had with an automotive shop in Anchorage. The staff is very professional even when it is very busy and the customers are being rude and childish. They had what I needed in stock and even though they were extremely busy after the first snow fall they managed to squeeeze me in at the end of the day and changed over my tires for me. Update 7/25/18-It's exceedingly rare for me to go back to a business after an experience like I detailed below, and even more rare that I would change a review from 1 to 5 stars. But here I am, compelled to share this update. After my initial review, @KevinDonnelly reached out to me via FB Messenger and expressed his genuine concern for how my initial experience unfolded at @anchoragetirefactory. Not only did he acknowledge the errors of staff and the business in general, he made it clear to me that the errors I encountered would be used for training to ensure an experience like mine won't happen again. Additionally, he offered an amazing price on the tires I wanted that included mounting and balancing. Today I went back to the business to take advantage of that offer. All I can say is "wow"! I'm mightily impressed with this business. They took excellent care of me and have completely restored my faith in local businesses. I highly recommend this business. It's almost unprecedented how they made up for an initial bad experience. I'll be returning to this business for all my future tire needs and will sing their praises from now on. Kudos, Kevin! You demonstrated a level of professionalism, customer service, and good business practices I thought didn't exist in this town. As I write this, I'm still in awe.♥ What follows is why choose Amazon over shopping local: I ordered tires for my 8 year old car in April. Was told they would only be a few weeks. Today, July 19th, I get a call that the tires are in. I asked why they took so long to get here. Turns out they got them in April. They said my number had no answer or voice mail. I manage a hotel. We have staff at the front desk from 8 AM to 11 PM, 7 days a week, and a voicemail system for missed calls. So I instruct them to mount the tires. Guess what? They ordered the wrong size. I ordered 265/75R16's and they ordered 265/70R16's. The gal at the front desk starts frantically calling local places to find the right size. I told her she won't find them as I had already done that prior to choosing them. But she keeps on. Finally I asked her to stop and just give me my keys. If they had at least made some kind of effort to comp me for their mistake I'd feel differently. Free mounting and balancing, get the right tires expressed up here, anything. So I drove away frustrated and without tires. So many folks preach "shop local" or "keep Alaska dollars in Alaska's economy". Why should I waste time "shopping local" when the local provider can't get it right or comp me when they make an error? This is exactly why local retail is dying. I can get exactly what I want through Amazon. No waiting, no errors. Yeah, I've got to ship the tires to Bellingham and then have them trucked/shipped up but I'd much rather do that than deal with locals who clearly put customer service/satisfaction way down the list after the transaction. Hey Alaska Tire Factory... you lost a potential forever customer and completely failed to get anywhere close to my needs, or even offer to fix what you screwed up. I hope other will take heed of my experience and look elsewhere for their tire and service needs. This business doesn't get it. I doubt they ever will. :(

This Spring, I went to another tire place in to install some atv tires i had bought onto my existing rims and had sticker shock. Then I went to Anchorage Tire Factory and they were 50% less for the install than the other guys. Tire Factory got me in and out quickly and with a fair price. I went back a couple weeks ago with what I though was a screw in my tire because the pressure had dropped. They got me in quickly, removed the tire, soaped it up and found no leak. The tech filled me up to proper pressure and they didn't charge me. When my truck needs its original tires replaced, I'll be going to the Anchorage Tire Factory.

Outstanding service! I was out of town for a week and my wife had to get studs on my truck while I was gone. We just moved to Alaska and didn't know who was a good tire dealer in town. My wife called ATF and they got her in right away. Ben was awesome and the guys took very good care of my her, which I greatly appreciated. We called other tire stores but they were almost too busy to even talk to us on the phone. ATF took the time and energy to make sure all our questions were answered and we were happy with our service. ATF rocks and will always have our business.

Seemed to be a good value for ties that were special ordered from the lower 48. They have free rotate and balance and flat repair. They also have a partnership with other chains in the western part of the US so you should be covered at those locations as well. Staff would not take 2-3 minutes to file a sharp spot on the wheel that is only accessible when the tire is off. Wheel repair is "not their thing". Seriously one jagged spur that would take a few strokes from a file. I would still recommend this place.

When you won't service with little wait this is the place to go. Pull up in front of one of the doors. Wait and someone will come out and ask you what you need done. You answer and they will direct you to what door you need. When the door opens you drive in. They do what needs doing.. They do it. You can pay there or drive around to the front and go in and pay. They even have free popcorn. Can't beat it.

Great shop staffed by down to earth guys. Very little pretense. Not too slick and not too ratty. They know what they're talking about, and they'll take 5 minutes to check out your TPMS, tell you your options, and generally treat you like a human being.
