I don't usually do reviews unless a location is exceptionally bad or phenomenally good. But my entire family has been going to this location for about a decade and we have always had top notch service. Friendliness isn't always over the top, but I don't expect that 100% of the time anyway and I've never been treated poorly by any employee here. There are other places I've had service my vehicle due to time constraints, but if I have the option I will always come to this location of American Tire & Auto because I know I will be treated well and taken care of. Kudos to everyone working here! This is the kind of place that deserves plenty word of mouth advertising and I recommend anyone I know who needs auto services to check here first.

Every shop before American tire and auto told me that my tire situation was serious and I'll definitely need a new tire. These guys are great! After going back and forth with the car dealership on tread separation issues, I decided to call American Tire to purchase new tires in hopes for a quick return of my vehicle. Picked up my car from the dealership drove straight to American Tire, had brand new tires on my car and back to me within an hour and at a very fair price! Thanks for being a breath of fresh air and providing quick, efficient service when replacing my tires!

Just had a great experience with American Tire & Auto. The tire pressure light was on for my moms car and she didnt listen to me that it was just the cold, -10 degree farenheit, weather. So they not only filled the tires with some air but they also did a check of the tires to verify that there was no puncture, causing a slow leak. We were on and out very quick, very cheap and very satisfied.

They did what I asked them to do for a fair price, nice enough fellas, but I'm used to being taken care of a little more. Like being told what needs fixing on my rig, having all my tires aired up when I leave, (I got into an accident a few days later due to my tires being so low on black ice), not having to ask what the notes say on the computer because the printout they give you is just a receipt... Stuff like that.

Got recommended to these folks by a friend and coworker. Fantastic people! I came in with tires that needed replacing BADLY, with an almost-new set a friend had given me. Tino was super helpful and educated me on several things I didn't know. (I don't speak car LOL) Turns out my tires have been undersized!!! For who knows how long!! He tried to find used tires they might have on hand that would be easier on my wallet, but had no luck. Wound up buying new ones, and they got rid of my old, about-to-explode ones for me. 10000/10, will definitely be coming back. Thanks everyone, and thanks especially to Tino for being such a cool dude!

I ended up coming here when my tire was damaged after I ran over a random key. I really respect that they didn't try to just sell me another set of tires and inspected to tire to see if they could repair it. They repaired it and overdelivered on the time promise. I'll be coming here for all my regular maintenance from now on. Thank you Tino!

This place is awesome, and even that is not enough to praise how awesome they are. We had a unexpected flat tire always with the worst timing. We got ourselves collected and headed in there directions. When we got there, they stated they where booked but they can do an air check on the tire. Well the crew took one look at us and went into helping mode. Not only did they do an air check but they also fixed it and put it on for us. They truly are the best.

Great place! Great workers who care about people in the community! I had an appointment with another tire place and they didn't schedule my appointment properly. I had came in from Wasilla with my winter tires to be that were to be put on. I also had wires protruding on one tire. It ended up going flat, like I thought may happen, while in Anchorage after the other tire company wouldn't see me even after they realized they messed up the scheduling. I went to American Tires and even though they were slammed and booked up for a few days, as it had just snowed, they decided to put my tires on without an appointment because they were concerned for my daughters and my safety. They had me in and out in under 30mins! I will always go back to them for my tire needs!!

Very good quick experience with nothing more than an oil change and what I thought would be a new headlight. But, it turned out to be a wiring issue which was easily fixed by them. Nice touch. I would have never known differently if they sold me a new light. This is my first experience with these guys in years, but a nice one

I was recommended to use American Tire by some friends from work, I am totally glad they did. I requested an online quote for the service I wanted performed and received a phone call shortly afterwards asking some more questions. I then received a quote which I reviewed and did some research on to make sure it was fairly priced, which it was! When I went in that same day to actually talk to the technician in person, he went over the pricing in more depth and showed me the products I had chosen. He then sent me home because he wanted me to "think about it" since I was going to be spending a lot of money. I really liked that, since he was not pressuring me into the sale. I went back in the next day to put my deposit down since they had to order a couple of things. It then took a couple weeks for the parts to get in. Once all the work was done I was extremely satisfied. The lift, new wheels & new tires on my Jeep looked great! I have been driving it for about a week now & I am 100% satisfied. A special thanks to Kevin at that shop, he did a great job from the first phone call to the point when I picked my baby up!

I've visited American tire 3 times - and every time I've been extremely impressed with their honesty, as well as their service. The first 2 times I had a flat tire, and they patched it without trying to sell me a new tire. Finally, after owning my car for 2 years (and buying from a shady seller) I figured I needed new tires, so I went in to get new ones put on (for about $700), but after checking my car, the worker (Anthony) came in and told me my tires looked excellent and I didn't need new ones, then sent me away at no charge. They could've easily made BANK off of me by now, but they've been up-front and honest about everything. I'm extremely impressed, and I'd recommend them to anyone.

I want to say thank you to the guys at American Tire for taking care of my car quickly and for the fantastic customer service. My front end alignment was way off and they did a fine job getting me going straight down the road again. I have an older vehicle and they took the time to point out some issues I may have in the future without pressuring me into getting unnecessary repairs done immediately. They worked while I waited with my two children, ages 7 and 1, and the job was completed before the kids had time to get unruly. Nicely done fellas. Thanks again.

I've been using them for my tires for a decade. They can be really slow during the first and last snowfall, but then again, so is everyone. They do a good job, especially with our expensive wheels, haven't noticed any scratches from tire change overs. Even during the busy season if you are one of the first 2 or 3 through the door when they open, they can get you out in a reasonable time.

Good service. Do what is needed for you. There was no wheels for my car. They let me pick out online Aluminium kinda fancy looking wheels. My skills are definitely not picking out the right looking wheels for a car. Would have been better I think if they would have picked them for me. Or lesson that I learned. Let the people at American tire that our doing it all the time pick out wheels to match car

I never have to worry about winter in Alaska. I drop off my vehicles for my winter tire change over. It is done quickly, professionally, and I love all the good folks that work there. Would never go anywhere else. Winter, summer, spring or fall.

I can say that both American Tire locations in Anchorage are awesome and customer service is outstanding, but this one takes the cake for being open on Saturdays. They offer a great brand selection of tires and pricing seems to be decent and competitive to the market in the City.

I've used them nearly a dozen times or so for various work trucks but I typically use GCR or Alaska Tire. American Tire and Auto has mediocre customer service of the front desk staff at best and can be quite rude. The completed work has always been performed well however.

Somehow they found the last tire in the state and got it on. For me who dropped the truck off by wrecker the night before and didnt call just walked in. They were outstanding. Will use them till I quit driving.

Much better than many local shops (ie Johnsons Tire...steer clear, they are hacks) from a technical service standpoint. They also carry a higher quality product in general. The customer service is not bad but is a bit inconsistent (depends on which service agent you talk to). Will definitely go back (and will never go to johnsons again).

Good and complete service. They work as rapidly as they can in the spring and fall change over rushes but do be cautious of loose items in your car as they may come up missing when your service is completed.
