I hadn't been here in a long time due to moving away, I was shocked by the number of people shopping! It was packed! It's a big store. They have a lot of everything, lots of clothes, some furniture (really reasonably priced on the pieces we checked out), some more expensive items in cases and behind the counter, ( I do feel like those items are way up price wise since I'd last been in), shoes were priced in a hit or miss depending on the brand. I was there for the toys and bric-a-brac, those were pretty fairly priced. The toy selection was small, by comparison to everything else. It's definitely a store worth checking out, go when you have time to look. Also, maybe a weekday would have fewer people. I hope this store stays reasonably priced. I, and many thrift shoppers have totally stopped going to Goodwill as they have lost their minds with the prices! Fingers crossed this store keeps their head on straight!

I stopped by last weekend and was pretty impressed with how many vintage items I could find. Prices were a little high for furniture and clothes...but decent for knick knacks and purses. I do intend to come back.

It was my first time visiting this store and I was somewhat impressed until I got home and a preschool math puzzle I bought was missing about half the pieces. They have the boxes taped up, so I assumed all the pieces were there. Very disappointing to purchase something you really can't use, even if it is from a thrift store! They should make a note that the item is missing pieces.

This was my first visit to Thrift Store City but I was only in the clothing section. I was happy to see a large selection of Plus size clothing since it can be difficult for plus size to find decent 2nd hand clothing. The clothing racks are organized by size but not color, which isn't a big deal but can be helpful. Out of the three thrift stores in this area that I visited today, Thrift Store City had the most expensive items. This doesn't really bother me because I prefer second hand over fast fashion but just mentioning it in case price is important to others. This store was just a tad more crowded than the others and it made shopping with a cart a little difficult. Overall, I had a good experience and this store will probably be my second go-to for thrift clothing in the area.

Thrift Store City is always clean. It is very rare that the price isn't on the items. So far any time I've taken an item to an employee looking for a price, they were able to locate it on the item. They always have new stuff in. And they have very reasonable prices.

I have mixed feelings for this place. Some items have excellent prices and some are a little high. However, let me tell you what happened the first time I took my service dog there. Normally I have my dog’s boots with me, but I had forgotten them at home. She wears boots because some stores use polish on their floors and it makes it hard for my dog to walk. When the floors are slippery she gets scared because she has nothing to grip onto and starts looking for things to climb on. So we get in the store and she’s slipping and struggling to walk. We get about halfway in and everyone is staring. A lady stops us and asks what the problem is. I told her and all the workers surrounding my dog that she’s scared because she’s struggling to walk. “Is she scared to walk or just afraid?” she asked. So I explained again. The lady then tells me “No. you can’t have her in here. She’s scared to be around everyone.” I told them she’s my service and that I could just put her in a cart. They said no. I did not want to argue so I left and waited for my bf outside while he shopped. AS SOON as we get out of the door I hear the lady say to another worker “that’s not a scared dog. That’s an abused dog” 🤬SERIOUSLY??? only reason I haven’t sued is because I like their prices on the pet supplies and shoes. Next time we went I stopped by the door to put on my dog’s shoes and that same worker is about 15 feet from me telling another worker “last time that dog was here it was trying to hide. It was scared of everything. The people, the kids, everything”. I kept my silence but the ignorance is beyond frustrating. Not to mention you legally cannot kick out a service dog unless they are being aggressive. Another time a completely different bunch of people assisted us when one of her gotta had fell off. They were all super helpful and we found her boot. So, like I said, mixed feelings for this place.

I’ve been going to this place for a couple months and I absolutely love it! One of the best thrift stores in the Norfolk area. Depending on the items they can be pricey but I’ve gone back a week after and noticed those items priced significantly lower. I’ve noticed a few comments about a 2% card charge and in all honesty 2% isn’t a big deal at all. I never spend more than $50 there and that’s a $1 charge to use my card. You’re already buying things at a very cheap price no need to complain about 2%.

I went to Thrift City to grab something cheap for a costume for my nephew’s daycare. It blew my mind when I got inside and saw how nice it was. It’s like a department store, clean...none of that funky grandma smell and the staff was very nice. I wound up buying a chair and some very sweet lady along with a manager David helped me. He saw I had on an earth day tshirt. I love what he said, “shopping here at our thrift store is one of the best environmental actions you can take. Our stuff gets used a second time around, less stuff in land fills, great quality and all at a very fair price.” AND HE THANKED ME FOR COMING IN!!! I almost want to hand out flyers. Great product is one thing, fantastic service is the icing on the cake. Thank you!!!

This is a nice thrift store. Has been here quite a while has a good array of clothes outside items.Goods furniture a very big selection very big store. Prices are pretty good they have a nice Boutique section and if you're a fan of hot dogs there's always the hot dogs lady for as long as I can remember selling hot dogs out front. Store is pretty clean staff for the most part it's pretty friendly. Just like any thrift store can get crowded and hectic at times. Overall always have good experiences continue to shop here and will continue the shop here me and my wife from time to time. Cuz you never know what you'll find. Keep up the good work before thumbs up five stars

Heard from a friend of mine I could find a bag of fasteners (nuts and bolts) of various sizes cheap. Found what I needed, got some tools, music CD, and some books for my daughter while Iwas there. The place has many interesting items at low cost. Place was pretty well pick up, clean and has adequate parking.

When we visit Thrift Store City, we don't buy clothing. We go primarily for furniture, which we've discovered some great finds over the years. We've also bought brand new mattresses here that have performed extremely well. There are gems to be found among the junk, so be a clever *hunter* when you go. You just might take home something precious and other finds that are just what you were looking for.

Just Me

When the finds are good, they are very, very good; when they are bad, they are horrid. I have found $150 shoes here, like brand new! They can have tons of designer brands in your size one day and then nothing the next. This is truly a wonderful thrift store. Even if they don't have what you are looking for one day, browsing is still fun. I just love this place!

I really love stopping by this one. Good deals but you gotta dig in a bit. Huge selection of clothes and toys. Decent prices in general but sometimes there's a bit of sticker shock. Worth a visit if your on the thrift store circuit that is the Little Creek run.

I've been to probably 90% of the thrift stores in Hampton Roads. This location is easily in my top 3. Good atmosphere, fair pricing, high end stuff, and has more of a treasure hunt feel than any store I have been to. Don't let the area and look from the outside deceive you, this is among the top thrift stores in eastern Virginia.

A little slice of Thrift where a village can roam. I have frequented this place plenty of times and must say you have to come in with an open mind coming here because there's a lot going on and when I say that I mean - A LOT!! So here's what you'll find... • Boutique Shop: Trinkets, treasures, random DVDs, video games, jewelry, and knick knacks • Furniture: All kinds warehouse style just look and inspect and you'll find large pieces and random stuff • Toys: Toys for the kids to pillage through and tear up the aisle • Dishes & housewares: All kinds of these things and some items you never knew you needed • Luggage: Going to Norfolk international they got you covered with bags and suitcases galore • Books, Shoes a plenty, & clothes with a mess ton of accessories You'll find a lot of things you never knew you needed but this place will more than likely have it. Be aware that there is a musty odor so you'll have to get past that. Other than that you'll be in thrift haven.
