Reviews of South Lake Union Goodwill
I love this goodwill! I always find something special at this store. I typically find good pet supplies and fun dishes. Store is clean, staff is exceptionally friendly. I always score on me brands like Coach and Nike here.
My pet is always welcomed here!
And I will always visit pet friendly businesses 100 times more than a non pet friendly business!
❤️🐶❤️
The store is tiny but the selection is always very high quality. Expect higher prices to go along with the higher end items. The staff is friendly, store is clean. I love this location!
Always a pleasure shopping here. The variety isn't as good as it use to be, and the prices seem outrageous sometimes but I still like to walk through and see if there's anything I can't live without.
Small Goodwill store - I believe is the smallest around town which would be understandably considering the prime location. A bright small store to pop in and quick browse a limited inventory of new and previously loved donated items.
Currently stocked with Halloween costumes for adults, pets and decor for the home. Fitting rooms available. I noted there weren't a lot of "designer/branded" clothes as some reviews have noted. Maybe I missed it?
This is definitely one of the best stocked, well-maintained stores that I’ve ever been in. Really good selection of merchandise. It is laid out really well and the staff is super friendly! As always prices are amazing!
The prices are WACK. Used items shouldn’t be so expensive.
That being said, the floor staff is kind and efficient, and the quality of items is decent.
Very nice store with good quality items. Was more expensive than most Goodwills.
Small goodwill store so no big furniture. Helpful staff. Good selection of clothing and housewares. Many high end donations. Prices on the higher side but still many bargains to be had.
Clean and nice with excellent prices. It was more like a boutique than a thrift shop! Scored a leather Anne Klein for a very reasonable price, so really happy! Plus, saw a really nice nightstand - also for a super reasonable price - set that someone had purchased and the shop was kindly holding.
The curated collection as well as the pricing is good here.
Not a large Goodwill but everything is very neat and clean. A little smaller than the U-district one. Nice cashiers with the crowd consisting of elderly folks and older professionals.
Crazy overpriced. Most clothing items were priced well over $10
Definitely smallest location I've done across but the clothes selection was of good quality, while other sections such as electronics, etc. didnt have much to offer as far as item selection but overall decent for what there was. I'm curious if this is usually the case as far as the electronic selection they usually have to offer? I've just recently went there for the 1st time but have been staying in the area so I will probably check it out again in the near future.
Decent selection. Not the cheapest for a Goodwill's stanards.
Small, well organized, good quality, a little pricey.
A Very Fun Store to Browse With Quality Items
Pros:
Organization:
The staff here makes good use of the relatively small space. They have a lot of inventory but it doesn't feel messy or unorganized.
Quality (menswear only):
Almost immediately I was able to find some Italian made sport coats and some very well made cords and wool/cashmere blend dress pants. Even the shoes were of better quality (i.e. both maintained and of better construction) and they had more in larger sizes (around 11) than you might usually see.
Staff:
They were very busy at the time of day that I went but lines moved quickly and I received great assistance while checking out.
Cons:
Layout:
Despite being able to arrange a berth of items quite well, the aisles, at least in the men's section, were quite inconvenient to navigate when you had to pass someone in said aisle. This was made all the more apparent as several patrons used rolling cases.
From what I could see there were only two dressing rooms. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy enough that I had to wait at least five minutes for a room that was already occupied. I can't imagine that this is sufficient for peak, weekday periods.
The bathroom is both solo and only accessible by a key that staff members have. Understandable, sure, but neither customer friendly nor efficient when it's busy. It's location also comes off as a bit claustrophobic but it's probably the nicest public restroom I've seen so that's a plus.
I found name brand clothing here at a good discount. It's a small store but found things here that other locations would have.
I had bought a birthday present for my son. It was too heavy for me to carry home. The Cashier was nice and held onto it until my son could come and pick it up after work , that would be 5-6 hrs later. And since it was a birthday present they helped me so he wouldn't know the price
I like this location but everything there is "good pickins'" so if you like to struggle to discover the "find" this is not the location for you!! The staff there is always very helpful and go out of their way to ensure your treasures make it home safe by wrapping purchases adequately. Good job!
Just came from there. I must admit, they have a higher quality selection than I'm used to. The neighborhood is upscale with Google and Amazon preppies and people who love taking their dog everywhere...so... that's why. The staff was really friendly and outgoing. They seemed to really enjoy doing what they do. I got a scotch glass decanter, jewelry box, a japanese painted min urn vessel jar, seeds for planting in pots, and a giant mug. less than 30 bucks. Nice .
Small, but good selection of stuff. Tends to be VERY overpriced, even for a Goodwill. Was still able to snag some great deals for a few brands they haven't seem to caught onto for markups (I won't say which brands so they don't wise up). A lot of stuff I'm baffled as to why it's marked up so much. Most dresses I saw were $20-50. A little ridiculous if you ask me.
This Goodwill is really well organized, clean, and smells great. A rarity among thrift stores! Everyone was friendly and helpful.
This is a small store, but the offerings are usually pretty nice in terms of quality and care. The staff are friendly, and particularly nice women's clothing items are on a special display. As others have pointed out, this Goodwill is small but usually a good selection. Like any thrift store, it's hit-or-miss on a given day, but the offerings seem to rotate frequently, and the dressing rooms are large, clean, and well-lit.
There is a donations drop off around back.
Clean facility, well organized, quality items for sale. Prices have increased with popularity, but still my favorite Goodwill. Friendly and helpful staff. Also able to donate items items here, but not large furniture items like couches.
I all ways find great products there like Pioneer Speakers to fairly new (sharp) kitchen knives. This is my go to store on a budget.🤭😁😐😀😀🤫 …
Although this is a small Goodwill, it seems much more "curated" than the average store. I've been here about 6 times now and it's always been clean with new stuff out that's in surprisingly good shape. I've found a number of deals here in both appliances and clothes that are far better than the ones I've found at the Dearborn store. I almost hesitate to write this review since the store feels somewhat "undiscovered".
Also, several times I've witnessed the store clerks here be very helpful to people, and one going so far as to offer a small bit of credit to a homeless guy who was having a rough day and just needed a t-shirt or two.
All in all, great store!
On Monday, they have $1.79 deal on a specific color, so that is the day to go. Everything is that price... clothes, electronics, housewares. I purchased a lot of nice stuff, some things that still even had the tag on them. Nice staff, too.
I am a huge fan of the Goodwill stores throughout the Seattle area. It doesn't matter what Goodwill location you go to, you'll always find hidden treasures throughout the store. You can everything from: furniture, bathroom decor, kitchen decor, bedroom decor, outdoor decor, tools, power tools, electronics, kitchen electronics, men & women's clothing & shoes, children and baby clothing & shoes, accessories for men and women, books, board games, kitchen wear and much much more. At the same time there's a lot of used goods but if you didn't know there's a lot of new or newer items to choose from. When you get some time check out your local Goodwill store.
Today the sale was all red tags sell for $1.97. I got a bunch of great jewelry that was inexpensive but normally would sell 4 much more. These are early Christmas gifts. There were all kinds of deals for the day.
This Goodwill, as well as the overs around Seattle, is great. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and organized, considering they sell so many different things. It's smaller than others locations but it still has a wide selection of products.
There is a lot of stuff here from what I assume are ex-amazon employees, and thusly, most of it is very nice. I picked up several pairs of designer jeans with the labels still attached to them and various kitchen knick knacks which had clearly hardly been used. The storefront is a little small and it felt like I was clomping all over people trying to get around.
The store is small compared to other Goodwills. I think they have quite a bit of home decor. On Mondays they have a color code and changes a different color every Monday. They sell whatever color for that day only for $1.79
Helpful staff, clean and good quality of items, too bad it's not a larger space. Felt a little like a small antique-y shop. 🤷♂️🍀✌😊 …
To start, the store is very small. There isn't a ton of inventory, and there weren't any brands or interesting objects that stuck out to me. I would go to the goodwill on Dearborn or the University district before this one. That being said, the employees were friendly and the place was well maintained.
Small, busy Goodwill with a nicer-than-average selection of items. No furniture or larger items. Clothing seems a bit higher-priced but they do appear to be better quality overall.
Not a bad Goodwill, but pretty small. I'd recommend the U District or Capitol Hill or ID locations for more variety. Nice staff! Like all the other Goodwills, though, they definitely need more dressing rooms.
This store it seems has more higher end things then the Capital Hill and University district stores. And the staff are very friendly! I love my shopping experience at this store.
I love this store and the staff! I always find the best clothes and small household items here.
Small store but well organized. Friendly staff. On occasions, you might find a great deal. Best to come Wednesday or Tuesday when there aren't that many customers
This goodwill is pretty tiny. They have great selection if you're a young office professional. They have a good selection but you'll have to deal with other shoppers as it is very crammed in the store.
It's a small store that can get a little packed and the spacing of the racks makes it feel a little crammed but the selection is so excellent I can look past it. Also offers dog parking outside and the staff is pretty nice. It's my favorite Goodwill on planet Earth.
Possibly the fanciest Goodwill I have been in. Lots of higher-end clothes. Maybe not the greatest if you need just the absolute cheapest clothes, but I got some great deals on designer/brand-name items.
Decent selection of items, but also pretty small and disorganized compared to other Goodwill locations.
Working downtown right around the corner from this store and got off a little early today so I decided to stop in and shop. Four pair of jeans, a pair of sweats and two shirts later only spending $45. What a nice bargain!
Clean and well organized. Good prices as usual for Goodwill and I always approve of their mission as a company. Selection could be a little better, but that's just personal preference I suppose.
Relatively small in comparison with other goodwills. Customer service was mediocre as it felt the manager's priority was hanging clothing on each rack i was looking at clothing on rather than in her customer having a quality experience in her store. Because the isles are so close together, sharing the rack with her, isle by isle, felt stifling, irritating and distracting. I don't think i would return for this reason.
This is a boutique Goodwill. It is a small space so the clothing and knick knacs are newer and in good condition, yet the shopping is cramped there is not enough roon for two people to comfortably shop. Cute stuff that when ypu buy helps support the community with job training!
If you love hidden treasurer, this is the place to go. High end lightly used name brand clothes, purses and shoes.
Looks small on the outside but has great items inside.
Poor selection. This used to be my favorite Goodwill but, ever since the pandemic there selection is very poor. But the staff is very nice!
Great selection, awesome staff. I enjoy coming in here to browse, and often leave with some good stuff. Best Goodwill branch I've been to.
Small, high priced higher quality and fashioned goods. Not bad if that's what you are looking for but it is almost as though the store needs a different name, like Goodwill Select, something along those lines.
Staff and security guy were awesome and really helped us out when we stopped by with donations. Thank you!!!
Small, but a lot of good quality items. Unfortunately, that also means most of brand-name clothing is also high-priced ($15-25).
Okay selection, clean but very small and limited. Never a bad stop when thrift shopping, but don't be surprised if you don't find anything you need (or didn't know you needed).
It's a nice Goodwill in a good location but it's pretty small so you don't have a lot of options. However, they tend to have some pretty good clothing options in good shape.
The staff here is usually very friendly. It's a small space but is packed with a nicely edited selection of items to peruse. I always stop in and look around when I'm in the neighborhood.
The curated brands section is extensive. The chances of finding something very nice for a great price is possible every day as the turnover of inventory is quick.
Clean, not crowded, with a surprising array of actually useful items . . . plus a few curiosities for impulse buyers.
It is a great little store with tons of a higher/ level of items. May just be the layout, I was happy.
Great clothing, modern and classy items, and the prices are far better than the goodwill we have here in little maple valley. Great jewelry collection, too.
Pricey but great selection!
This is one of the cleanest, and best merchandized thrift stores I've ever been to. I got one of my favorite pull overs for less than $10.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Visiting from New York and I love Seattle!
Higher end wares as far as goodwill is concerned. I bought the big ice cube trays for bourbon drinks. Only 1.99!
Great, boutique selection and amazing staff. I come here and find great deals a few times a week.
Lots of stylish pieces at this location! It's not very big, but they pack in some great merch.
Men's shirts and pants are well organized. Quality clothes at great price.
Great deals on clothing, a lot of quality clothes for a low price. They also have a good gadget/electronics section.
Lots of stuff. But lots of not very interesting things if your size small. And not that cheap compared to other thrift stores with better stuff
Shhhh, don't tell anyone else, but this place seems to get a consistent flow of higher quality donated clothes.
All goodwill stores are great with great deals and the money helps the community, you can't go wrong, help them out
Very helpful cashier, willing to help me to find extra. These guys are working on donations and give jobs to people, doing great job.
Staff was awesome, store was well organized and tidy KUDOS!
This place seemed crowded. Parking is tough too because it's downtown. Decent selection of stuff though.
Such nice ladies om duty this afternoon!
Small but surprisingly full of treasures! Have found a lot of great clothing and housewares here!
Always organized and super clean. I have found some of my favorite clothes from here!
The only downside of this store was the fact that the shoes I really wanted had already been sold by the time I got there.
Cool clothes and stuff here. I got a backpack, cool weird figurine, and Star Wars shirt.
Great selection of stuff- gotten so many high end products.
Some of the kindest people you will ever meet. Very helpful. Great customer service.
Small but absolutely a win. Got a nice leather jacket worth $$$$$ for next to nothing.
It's small but I found some good summer shirts for cheap
The special 'fashion focus' pricing puts the items to close to new retail pricing.
Very small but excellent bargains to be had. Luv this store.
It's small, but I've had good luck at this location. Staff is awesome 😁 …
Nice and clean. They also accept donations and give you a tax receipt.
Lots of good cook ware and sports stuff. Found a great deal on a tennis raquet.
Very small and seems hand picked to suit the tastes of the nearby residents. No drop off.
Nice staff. Very good collection of basic needs to setup a new home.
Clean friendly good place to shop while helping the poor..
Quite expensive for a goodwill. Smaller than others but clean and inviting!
Great selection and prices compared to other Goodwill stores in Seattle.
Small space with excellent selection. Very kind and patient employees.
Best place to get good used clothing, at a great price also.
There's always a lot to find here, a lot more selection than most of the goodwill boutiques found elsewhere in Seattle.
Caught it on a really good day. One of the best Goodwills my sis and I have been to.
Very small store. Staff is super pushy an hour before closing. Super annoying and unnessicary...
Fantastic selection, great prices, and amazing customer service!
I liked the selection here and that it wasn't overwhelming. Wasn't overpriced either.
Best organized and clean Goodwill in Seattle. Super friendly people there too!
Heads up, donation drop off closed at 5pm not 7pm as stated here
Love this Goodwill. It is clean & had great deals!
Those nice people who work there.are Alway's a pleasure to see.
Good quality stuff compared to other Goodwills in the area.
Somewhat small store but still a great store for a great cause!

Found 5 shirts that I bought. 4 of them had the original tags on the.
Small but well organized with friendly staff
Prices are too high even on 1/2 price days. I am in Seattle, that's why.
Great spot. Their selection rotates pretty often.
Still open 15 person max in the store open 11-7
Small and functional!
Great deals and friendly staff!
This is by far the best Goodwill I have ever visited!!
Love this place. It's like a boutique thrift store
Randomly walking catching pokemon and fell into this wonderland of red tags
This smaller goodwill has a good variety of stuff.

(Translation) A very small shop. You can go along the way, but the choice is small and something useful is rarely found.
(Original)
Очень маленький магазинчик. Можно зайти по пути, но выбор маленький и что-то полезное находится нечасто.
