Reviews of Goodwill Outlet

Been here twice & had some fun looking for treasure. It’s literally rows of waist high bins(which are rotated throughout the day & “new” stock rolled out) full of donated items that are on their last chance to be sold via Goodwill. Everything is sold by the pound but don’t let that stop you. There is a kind of method to this type of shopping so be prepared to go with the flow of it. You need a cart to store what you want to buy for the most part, also there is a kind of etiquette to digging in (be polite and not pushy) I highly suggest disposable gloves since I noticed my hands were really grubby afterwards. There are public restrooms available (a luxury these days when in a public place), cold soda for sale, pretty ample parking but be careful to NOT park in the RED MARKED tow away zone because your vehicle can and will be towed. When you checkout your cart contents are rolled onto a scale & you’re charged by the lb (minus the cart weight). I’ve found a few cool items here, including a car roof rack, robot interactive toy, & some trendy bed linens. Each time I spent less than $10 & my stuff was heavy enough to need a cart. The employees are polite & checkout was fast despite a line. Just remember to listen when the employees direct you to move out of the way because if you don’t they can’t bring out the giant carts with fresh stuff. Another tip: absolutely sterilize & wash thoroughly what you buy from warehouse thrifts like this.

OK it was only my 2nd trip here and LOVED it & learned a lot! It was surprisingly crowded on Monday morningish, you know there are professional thrifting scavengers galore here, just don't look them in the eyes or try to interact and you will be fine 😜! Also don't plan on getting a cart cause they are hard to come by(see reason above)best bring your own big bags! TJMaxx bags are my jam!! Make sure you divide your own bags, so like cloths & shoes in one bag, linens & blankets, sheets ect in another, books and dvds in another, it saves you a lot of time. Also lots of crusty undies & unwashed things so wear gloves or maybe a Hazmat suit, haha J/k kinda. My hunt for thrifty fun was awesome, I found some real treasures such as vintage bedspreads, cool books, teen & mens clothing, some cute boots & revere ware pots in awesome shape. Most I paid was 30$ for 4 bags! The Checker/clerk was just like you would expect someone who works there to be, a little aloft & just so you know he does not want your friendship or want to see your cool finds, he does not care, he just is wanting to get back to his games in his mom's basement, so don't bother him anymore & try not to take it personal.

To fully enjoy the experience at the Goodwill "bins" you need to understand the nature of the shopping. It isn't calm and polite with merchandise laid out carefully. It is just huge plastic bins filled with clothing, books, towels, bedding, and other random items. All of the items are from Goodwill stores that were unsold and are the last stop before they get thrown away so you need to look carefully but quickly and know what you are looking for. CHECK that buttons, zips, and all closures work properly as many clothes are damaged. Most clothes are dirty. Shoes are tricky as they often get separated by people throwing clothes around. People WILL reach over you, people WILL reach around you, and they will be pushy and aggressive and throw things all around. I suggest bringing headphones and ignoring everyone around you but also stand your ground.
Occasionally they will bring out new bins covered up but you are NOT allowed to touch them until they say "go". Be respectful of the employees as they are just doing their job and probably get minimum wage.
Prices are around $2 a pound getting cheaper for the heavier your weight is.
Suggestions for going: Bring disposable gloves, your hands get filthy! Don't be afraid to squeeze into the small gaps between other people or you will not find anything worth your time and will miss out. Bring a large bag or box to carry around to keep all your finds in as carts are rare to catch. Be prepared to spend at LEAST an hour to find anything worth your time. They do have bathrooms there and they sell soda and water.

I really enjoyed shopping at the Goodwill Outlet or as I sometimes call it: The Bins! Of course it isn’t organized well, but mostly clothes are in certain bins and then games and other miscellaneous items are in other bins. It is very inexpensive and even conflated to other outlets, Most have prices closer to $1.99-2.49 per lbs.
If you are interested in reselling items, or don’t mind moving quickly/frantically while shopping, I would go in the morning as you get the “best options” since things haven’t been picked through and they switch out the bins pretty often. I just go for fun and usually will go toward the afternoon.
I have worn gloves and actually forgot the most recent time I went and I wished I had them because you are touching so many items including lots of undergarments and stained clothes.
The items I saw the most of were comforters/sheets/blankets, kids clothes (some were stained, others were in really good condition), 80’s pieces such as blouses with shoulder pads, lots of 2005-2015 pieces like low rise/flare jeans, t shirts, sweaters etc. and then just random things like swimsuits, turtle necks, grandma crew neck sweaters, old patterned tshirts, underwear, pajamas, towels, robes etc.
I really like the variety of things and love digging to find some gems, but if you don’t like searching, I wouldn’t suggest it.

This place is an awesome outlet! You dig through Bins and gather a horde. Instead of being charged individually, you are charged a bulk price. This means you can get some seriously great deals on items here. Its worth your time to check out if you're thrifting.
MrPandaMan
It's a well organized place. We'll at least they try to keep it that way. The employees there are awesome. Keep up the great work. You guys definitely have great things there.
Khamie Nakhawit
Love this good will store they always have alot of different unique items. But I don't like how they weigh the books to come up with the total amount due. Besides that there awesome.
Mojo Kujo
Masses of clothing thrown on tables that you have to pick through. A couple of tables of books and some few odds and ends. Not my favorite scenario. You pay for everything by the pound. The price goes down as you buy more. You have to buy at least 25 lb to get the first discount. Today the first price point was $1.79 a pound.
David Hatch
Went looking for sun dress and blender. I found a magic bullet that had all the cups! And i left with 3 dresses. Helpfull staff gave me a box instead if bads. Thanks for that.
Susan Forsgren
It is a treasure hunt. If you have time and energy you can find some really good deals.
Do not go to try to find something specific. It will only be there if you are not looking for it.
You will find that many of the other customers speak many languages.
Sheri Harvey
I can always find a lot of good and useful items at the Goodwill Oitlet!
Karina Bertelli
I finally had my first goodwill bins experience! What a ride that was! I went early in the morning and honestly didn't really know what to expect so I just watch the other around me. The items are sold by the pound for I think around $1.49 a pound? They switched out the bins while I was there and it was a free for all. There are for sure a lot of resellers here as you could see their cart full. That was a little intimidating because they kind of take over the bins. I waited and went back after they were done. Anyways, I was able to get a few fun things for super cheap so that was exciting! The employees were super friendly and great at their job. Can't wait to go back here!
Ashley Knoff
Was extremely hot in the building. They had 2 giant commercial fans running but it didn't do anything. Selection they had out was decent and we did find several great things. Would have stayed longer but could stand the heat in there longer.
CV Consignment
Overall I like this place and shop there frequently. It would be nice if there was a policy of one cart per customer. What ends up happening is a group of regulars start lining up an hour before they open, then they rush in and commandeer several carts each as soon as the doors open. Then they camp out literally all day, making the majority of the shopping carts unavailable to the majority of customers, the majority of every day. You’ll see their carts full of stuff lined up around the perimeter. It kinda sucks for anyone unwilling or unable to make an all day event out of it, as your chances of actually getting a shopping cart are close to nil. Other than that, the employees are generally nice and it’s pretty clean and organized all things considered.
Char Todd
$1.49 a pound. Great price. You have to look through a lot of bins. Found some pretty shirts. Good selection of books.
Lana
Excellent place to do donations. I appreciate that they sell their goods for very low prices that anyone can afford rather than other places who have lower prices but still out of reach for some people. Nothing beats Goodwill. When you donate they also provide a 20% coupon for someone who comes in to shop.
Tammie Henderson
Staff was very nice. It is exactly what you would expect an outlet to be, bins upon bins of random clothes and household items. I think it would be a little more helpful if there was some sort of division between sizes of clothes. Other than that, it's exactly what you would expect!
T B
Get ready to pounce quick and dig fast into the bins but you can find some really cool stuff, and you pay by weight not per item unless specified so they just weight your basket.
JoAnne Johanson (BabyJo)
I love shopping here. Its always a different experience when you go because you never know what your going to find. The only problem I have is the swap meet people. They are very greedy and hord over the bins like they own them. One day I had to give up on shoes cause a swap meeter had a cart completely full of nothing but shoes. Other than them I love it there

RUN DON'T WALK TO THIS GOOD WILL OUTLET ASAP!!!
I feel like a criminal walking out of this magical place each and every time my husband and I are lucky enough to visit (it's become our date night of sorts or just a fun little outing) We have found a plethora of most definitely needed appliances as we just recently moved and had most of ours stolen from our garage. He found a $700 retail Bose sound system. My latest and greatest find whilst treasure hunting have been several kitchen gadgets, brand new sparkly Van's skate shoes, and I make ears for myself and consignment that I graciously borrow from well loved and retired stuffed animals. As stated in the beginning of this review, the prices are UNBEATABLE! I have SO many incredible memories of going to the good will throughout my life and I absolutely adore and applaud your mission in this often seemingly difficult earthly life, it's earthly angels like yourselves that bring SO many of us joy through the good natured acts of service you facilitate. In fact... I think I might go ask if we can go again...right.... NOW

Fun to hunt for great finds, just wish they had air conditioning!
Jaeden Hunter
Much less scummy-feeling than Deseret Industries (the DI). The employees were informative, kind, and helpful during the process of donation. The items also aren't sold at a ludicrous price (shoutout again to the mormon church).

Been to nearly 40 bin stores in the USA. Could be my favorite. Spent many months in the area, hardly ever disappointed. Enough room to browse away from the chaos. Unlike some other bins there is also enough for anyone. Media, electronics, and clothes can ALL be found here. All manners are bad at GW bins, but this was tolerable compared to others.
dreamynation
This place is a hit or miss. Either a super good finding or not find much at all. Still worth visiting from time to time to have a little adventure digging through bins and find cool stuff. In my opinion this place is better than the thrift stores down in Utah County that over prices second hand items.
S.S Services
Well I finally went to the “bins” in Salt Lake City lol it was scary looking. A bunch of people crowded together sifting through bins. They were inches apart from each other. I’m not saditty but it was musty looking. I’m pretty sure it’s just Salt Lake City for those who live here they may understand and if not oh well. It’s often referred to as bed bug city.
One lady said is this your first time? Lmfao, like I was a virgin or something. I innocently said yes. But then I looked towards the back at the mosh pit and all I could see were arms flailing and clothes flying. I stayed in the safe zone.
5 stars for the lady who threw me a shoe with no mate.
Brianna Doyle
There is a mad frenzy every time they bring out new bins. It is a mad dash to the new stuff. Other than that, found some good items. You pay by weight. Different types of items varies the cost per pound.
T. Lucero
If thrift shopping is all about the thrill of the hunt, then this is the store for you! It is AMAZING! I went on a girls day with my aunts, and we filled two HEAPING carts. The total only came to about $50. There are some really good quality items, you just have to be willing to look. They change bins out pretty frequently, so there's fresh stuff to look at. We made out with practically new items, in brands such as: Woolrich, Free Country, Nike, Calvin Klein, etc... WILL be going again, and often. No doubt about it.
Drewble
Good place to get cheap clothes but thrifting culture here has kinda ruined it. There is always a mad dash to grab all the best pieces and you’re never gonna get anything good unless your super aggressive.
josh bartlett
I like to go to the place that is the bins of the good will cause the money dose not leave the pockets as much as the Gutcie and it has clothes cause people do not want clothes but I buy the chlothes
Babie Karma
I effing love this place! I literally just got 5 HUUUUUGE bags full of clothes, purses, shoes, and other miscellaneous items that I have been looking at online for only $36.08. If I were to buy all the things I just got online, I can guarantee you that I would have paid WELL OVER $500. At the very least. Even I thought that the guy working the cash register made a mistake for a couple minutes. Because since they price everything by the pound, and I had quite a few purses and pairs of shoes that weighed a lot more than usual, I thought that may e he forgot to weigh my cart and just charged me for the food and books on the counter, but nope... Everything weighed out to the price of $36.08. I just got a huge wardrobe for so so so cheap. I love it! 😊 And most of the clothes I got still had their original tags on them and we're completely brand new. J give it 5 stars. No doubt! If you are a bargain shopper and a shopaholic like I am, and you are okay with buying second hand, but would recommend The Good Will Outlet. So satisfied right now. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go spread out all my new clothes on my bed, and go roll around in them like they are money. 😄 Good day to you.
Jarom Rowland
Well if you're willing to submit yourself to Black Friday like Vibes a couple times a day this place is for you. Honestly though if you're a thrifter, a picker or a hipster looking to resell then this is your Shangri-La. They charge by weight so make sure to throw back those Hefty items you really don't need. Also remember that blankets and towels and such are cheaper by themselves then in your cart. Ready set go! Go rummage through a bunch of questionable items to find probably two or three Diamonds in the Rough.
Kennedi Canova
was kind of dirty and not a very pleasant experience but there were so many cute things i found!! i would recommend going there but make sure you bring gloves! also great pricing, i found one of my favorite sweaters at this outlet!!
Tyler C
This is a great place to shop. You do have to pilfer through lots of clothes, but it is not difficult, the trays of goodies are raised and are pretty shallow so there's not a lot of stooping needed. From my understanding these are items are Goodwill rejects in that they didn't sell in the store. The tag are made up, you pay via the pound. They also have some furniture here too though I'm unsure of pricing for that.
J
Smaller outlet store than others I’ve been to in Oregon, Washington, Colorado. However, by far the cleanest and most organized Goodwill Outlet I have ever been to in my life. Those who know how these places will understand. Well worth a visit.
Mary Catherine Chartrand (Kit)
Everything is kind of jumbled on tables so you have to dig to find the good stuff. But if you have the time and the patience it's an awesome place. I got $39 worth of clothes for $6. You pay by the pound so it's a great value.
deborah murph
During my treasure hunt today at Goodwill Outlet I found 2 pair Carhartt jeans for my loving husband. One fleece lined. A Lucky brand T shirt, 3 sweater dressee. Christopher and Banks & Old Navy. And several other pieces all look brand new. Plus a Shark Cordless vacuum charged and good suction. Hey I'm happy! This is a very clean store and the staff were helpful and courteous. Love buying by the pound. We will be back.
Amelia Garrard
It was super clean and well organized! Way better than some of the other outlets I have been to. It is also a nice touch that they have bags since a lot of other Goodwill outlets don't. I definitely will be coming back 🙂 …
Tendaji Akili
If you like treasure hunting and archeology, this is the place for you. Plan on spending some time digging and don't go looking for anything specific ,lol. I love this place, my kids and I go all the time and always come out with something good.
Ammon Cheney
5 stars relative to thrift shops in the area, 3 stars relative to other Goodwill Outlets. The Hillsboro, OR Goodwill Outlet is the mark to hit. This outlet is pretty small in comparison, but larger than the Las Vegas outlet. I'm a treasure hunter, so size of heaps to dig through is a factor. I'll still drive an hour every couple weeks to visit this store because it beats the competing Deseret Industries stores by leaps and bounds.
Miranda Buchanan
If you like the thrill of thrifting, this is the place for you. I found three pairs of jeans: 2 American Eagle and 1 Juicy Couture. Fabulous !!!! $1.69 a pound.
Mark Church

Holly cow, talk about a crazy store. Lot's of people going through everything and just making a mess of everything. One thing is for sure, it's hard to beat the deals. You just have to search through the stuff.
Roy Hardison
I just went to see what they had. But I did notice people who may have came from homeless camps. This a good place to go for those who are down on their luck.
Nichole Reigard
It can be overwhelming but if you have time to kill this is the place to go
Rocio Martinez
Takes time and patience to find the good stuff. Everything is sold by pound so it’s super affordable. Best thrift store I’ve been to.

Tammy Roberts
I was kind of disappointed to see that everything was just all piled up in bin tubs instead of being on shelves or being hung up on clothes rack but they do weigh the things you buy , by how much it all weighs.
silas loosli
It was great, buy clothes by the pound, a bit of a dirty place but very good deals

Wilma Godsey
Too hot in this store!! Paying by the pound sounds like a bargain but it adds up quickly. Sometimes it doesn't seem like a bargain.
Kristina Nyholm
If you dont get here RIGHT at open, you're gonna be SOL on both parking and a shopping cart. I usually end up having to wait 30 minutes for a cart to free up.

Shopping here is not for the faint of heart.
Prepare yourself! Your experience will occur as follows: You pull up to a sort of alley; parking your car in one of the very few remaining spots, you walk up to a large grey warehouse. Pushing through a small glass door, you enter a starkly lit cavern of a warehouse, full of big blue bins of clothing mountains, and daring adventurers - young and old - frantically mining deep into the crevices of cloth to find the gems hidden inside. Tension seems to fill the air as you survey the scene; barely restrained anger and frustration glint in the eyes of those who missed a perfect item by mere milliseconds, and only the large guideline placards hanging on the walls prevent them from lashing out in animalistic fury at those who found the dreamed of item first. You slip on your disposable gloves, (a necessity at this location, the hands of countless hundreds before you have caressed the clothing here) and you brace yourself for what is to come. Shouldering your way in between a middle-aged woman and a 13-year-old skater boy, you get to work. The chaos and lack of organization is the first thing you notice; men's jackets are mixed with women's underwear, and books are mixed in with colorful socks of all shapes and sizes. Shirts, pants, skirts, and more are piled nearly up to your chest as you dig deeper and deeper into the cloth chasms. Eventually, your toil is rewarded and you strike gold; a beautiful, barely used item you have been wanting for ages. Huzzah! You grab it along with your many other spoils of war and wondrous items of clothing and proceed to check out. Clothing that would have cost you a hundred dollars or more is simply 2 dollars a pound! You leave with a strong feeling of satisfaction, a huge smile, and hopefully many bags of clothing.
It's an experience you will never forget, so quit wasting so much time reading reviews and click on the directions already!
Abi
I love the bins, they’re a great way to find cheap clothes in volume. I live bringing friends here and I always seem to find way more cool stuff here than at regular goodwills. For the amount of clothing you can get for such a low price digging through bins for a while is worth it in my opinion.
