The owner is very sweet. This shop supports sustainability by keeping things out of the landfill. I often don't like to shop at boutique thrift stores because I feel like I can find better value elsewhere. However, I love the fact that the store donates some of its profits to help artists. My money was well spent here and yours will be too. We need more shops like this one that helps us become more conscious consumers.

Theresa is so sweet! Helped us feel right at home and encouraged to go forth and conquer our dreams! You can see her spunky spirit in the pieces that she’s brought to her store, as well as the items she has up-cycled. Wished there had been more variety in styles (lots of 2010 secondhand feel, not so many vintage pieces), depends on what you’re looking for! Prices were a little steep but if you find something you love it’d be doable. Fitting rooms are available.

The owner Theresa was so nice!!! She was friendly and helpful, and her clothes are very affordable and cool. Of all the places on Hawthorne, this one left the best impression. The store is also clean and smells nice! Will definitely be going back :)

This is such a great store. I have been there half a dozen times, and always find something cool to leave with. I love the DJ spinning vinyl and the hip feel. The owner is a brilliant artist and I love how she has her prints for sale along the walls.

Absolutely love Alien Mermaid Cove’s Shop on Hawthorne! It’s spacious and has such unique pieces to add to your wardrobe. Also the woman who owns it, Teresa, is amazing and so helpful if you’re looking for anything specific!! I highly recommend shopping here.

This is a gem of a store on Hawthorne! I especially fell in love with the owner’s art…I want it all! She’s a lovely person in her own right & it’s a pleasure to be in her shop. Her clothes are reasonably priced and excellent quality. I tell everyone to come here!

I LOVE Alien Mermaid Cove! The pastel-pixie-pop-art style of Theresa Flowers is a fairytale come to life in this dreamy vintage upcycle shop. The in house line, Altered States, offers modern fashions with a kind of art school grunge flair, bleached and reconstructed back to coolness. There are also lots of awesome clothes for men! It seems like there’s always an actual party happening here, complete with djs and cupcakes so you can dance with all your other alien mermaid friends while you shop. Part glamour, part punk, part Earth Child, this is the cutest new shop on Hawthorne hands down. There are treasures for everyone awaiting in the alien mermaid cove.

This shop literally drew me into it off the street and I’m SO glad it did! Teresa’s upcycled Altered States line is rad AF (photos below are of a tye-died Calvin Kline sports bra and upcycled corset bra from the shop!) and I got some really stylish outfits that are just my vibe. The art and environment of the shop is creative, cool, and vibing. Sometimes there is even a DJ there playing. Fan 4 Life, if you’re rad, like vintage clothes and are in Portland you must come to Alien Mermaid Cove 👽 🧜‍♀️ 👾 ✌️
