This is the most hoppin' and well laid out thrift stores that I've ever been to. You walk in and it feels like a party. Everything well lit and the decorations create a fun vibe. Sections are distinct and have their own flair. I had a blast walking through the store.
They have sections for everything: fancy clothes, vintage clothes, books, DVDs, furniture, kitchen and technology. Staff is super friendly and all proceeds go to great causes.

This is our go-to organization whenever we have clothing, books, art or household items to donate. Staff is friendly and helpful as we drop items off. They provide employment to folks who are struggling to make a living. There's usually a drop-off parking space right in front. Year-round, I love walking our dog by their storefront: they create quirky, colorful displays for every holiday (Halloween and Valentine's Day windows are the best)! Tip: for tax purposes, make detailed notes/photos of what you donate.

Such a fun place to walk around even if you’re not in the market for anything in particular. The staff is lovely, prices are great, always some cool finds PLUS it’s all for a great cause!
Francys Fuentes
Full of useful and also surprising things. Everything u can imagine. Specially for movies makers is perfect to find the right clothes and decision for vintage scenes. If u take your time you can find anything there.
Isla Damron
Always a treat here! I come all the time because there’s always something new. Definitely one of the best thrift stores in Philly, especially if you’re into some weird stuff.
Daecian Miller
Friendly staff and massive selection. Found this vintage, custom-made Korean satin jacket here for $50.
Tri Nguyen
Big store, super friendly and good service. All ways had something good prices whenever I stop by . I donated my stuffs to this store too. A lot of my house decorations I bought here. Love this place!

We’re here at least once a week for years, this place is the best thrift store I’ve been to in any state across the country! Sometimes we go just to look at all of the cool stuff that’s come through. Staff are lovely and we’ve come to know and love so many of them while we’ve been coming here. Literally all of my clothes come from this store (and most everything in my home), and I recommend this store to everyone who compliments what I’m wearing (and everyone who doesn’t, of course)! I’ve also found just so many things that I need in good condition and extremely reasonable prices, and the proceeds go to a good cause. Again, I cannot recommend this store highly enough!
Bradley Schiro
This thrift store has a great selection and prices. I especially love shopping for books here. They donate proceeds to local HIV/AIDS service funds - it's great supporting a worthy cause. I would definitely recommend them.
Jennifer Ryann Kraft
Great store, in general.
I love the concept and would much rather give and buy my stuff some new life then to a place that making Advocates so accepted and the overall Pride and Love was wonderful. I've never been to the Philly gayborhood until this weekend, and I cannot wait to go back!!!
Eden Harris
I've had so many great finds here, not only clothes but furniture and other miscellaneous items as well. This place is chaotic in the best way.
Linda R
Really really cool, eclectic mix of items, clothing and accessories at excellent prices for good cause!! Very friendly staff was a Definite Bonus!!!!!!!
Johnleia Lambert
Philly AIDS Thrift is a gem right off the popular South Street in Philadelphia. There’s a variety of clothes, nicknacks, home decor and odd items to sift through. Leave your expectations at home and prepare to walk out with something you really don’t need but couldn’t resist buying.
Joseph Lunine
This is a great place to go to if you want vintage clothes, cheap clothes, movies, CDs, vinyl records, kitchen stuff, furniture, electronics (cheap monitors, keyboards, cables, audio equipment...), and more. The variety of stuff they have changes every time you go back, since they’re always getting new donations in.
An added bonus to Philly AIDS Thrift is that they have free HIV testing and proceeds go towards supporting HIV/AIDS service organizations.
Jon Stamos
Really nice selection of books and dvds. There's also clothing, mostly women's. But I did find a nice suit coat there.
Angi Stevens
I am visiting from Minneapolis and stumbled upon this stores block party yesterday! Got great deals on a few items. Such a funky, fun and hip thrift store! Love love love that it supports AIDS education and research!
Piotr Pawlowicz
Loved this place. It is like a toy store for adults. Full of surprises. Happy thirting!
Jeff Crowl
This place is awesome! The staff was friendly and there were treasures around every corner.
Randi Feese
Love the atmosphere. The $1 bins were good to me today! I also picked up some designer ties. Def worth a trip!
Mark Nichols
Have been coming here for at least seven years. Nothing beats it. I go to Buffalo for something different. I am playing like a long game of strip tag with this place. I bring at least three bags of clothing (90% from previous excursions here) when I come to shop. It is just something so enthralling to me. Because I dont buy first hand and here get to mb n run free. My husband and i... the dedication and love we had for the place brought us together when we first met. And it continues to be a outing, a melting, we get to experience together. It is also the best place for a painter to get cheap canvases. There are always paintings people did at Painting with a Twist and then threw away. I don't feel bad painting over those.
Patrick
Found a ton of cool stuff and could probably spend a day just going through all the books/art.
Dar Galiszewski
Not a lot of men’s clothing here, mostly furniture, women’s clothing and vintage, and kitchenware
Michael Eom
Such a cool store. Staff are all super friendly and welcoming. Books, furniture, records, games, clothes, vintage items, they have it all. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area!
Ayon Ibrahim
Great thrift shop with an awesome mission
Vincent Romano
I love the funkiness of this store. There are clothes, vintage, toys, records, you name it, they probably have it. Some of the prices made me think I was in an antique store though.
Anthony Hunsinger
Tons of great finds from clothing to furniture and just about everything in between, all for a great cause
Fallon Barr
Such a fun place to explore. One of my all time favorite thrift stores. Parking can be tough but it’s worth it. You never know what you’ll find and it has a great vibe. They have everything from games and art to clothes and furniture
Megan Wilcox
Great thrift store with a ton of variety of items, and way larger than it looks on the outside. This is a fun place to stop in, and I would recommend swinging by frequently if you hope to find something specific. There were lots of people in the store when I stopped by on Sunday morning, so I imagine the good items go quick. They have a ton of clothes, some shoes, some books, dishes, housewares, etc. It seems like they mainly have clothes, and a wide variety of them.
Xavier K (Gutzy)
I come here all the time with my ma, and its actually pretty good. They even have a dollar bin in which I got my cosplay outfits from :D
Nancy Allen
One of my favorite thrift stores in the city. Always find great pieces in the $1 section. The place is eclectic and full of treasures but still manages to be clean and organized. Volunteers and staff are always so kind.
Kylie Shepard
Honestly had to leave a review. One of the best thrifting experiences I have ever had! Lots of stuff, very affordable, great message Amazing decor. It’s absurd to leave a bad review... Philly is always street parking I had no problem... the decor is amazing and definitely appropriate not their job to cater to your children. .. and for a thrift store it’s well organized and loaded with stuff. 10/10 recommend!
Stevie Bee
I have shopped here twice, last time was just yesterday. Here are the facts: The staff are simply awesome, the building is clean, the clothing are mostly designer, ..the prices are very reasonable (especially every other Tuesday) and the trip it took to get here was well worth it. I'll be sure to make the trip again very soon and will more than likely bring a friend. Nice work staff!! Keep it up!
Sharon Man
The selection is excellent - one of the most interesting thrift stores I've ever visited. I loved browsing here - they have great special occasion gowns (sometimes at 50% off on top the already good prices), great period pieces (70s party? 80s party? 90s party?), a wide variety of housewares, shoes that sometimes are pretty much brand new, and the "free" box outside for items they aren't able to sell. And all for a great cause!
Harper Leary
Such a fun place to walk around even if you aren’t there to buy anything. They have everything you can think of; wedding dresses, books, furniture, dishwear, clothes, posters, and so much more.
Lisa Eldridge
It's a great place to hang and browse after work. Chill atmosphere. Funky music and all the workers and volunteers are friendly. The $1 clothes bins are the best thing since sliced bread. They have a wide variety of items from tools to furniture and prices are good!
MB B
Employees are friendly and the money goes to a good cause.
Never know what I'll find.
Taylor Cannon
Went here for my first time last week. Very overwhelming. Lots to see and find. Was on a time limit so only found 2 things. But I was still happy . Prices are fair for the city and a thrift shop. Will definitely be back :)
Natalie Fox
Love this place!!! Considering they run entirely on donations, the book selection is fabulous. Staff is always friendly and they enjoy seeing the treasures you find almost as much as you do. You never know what will be behind these doors!
Caleb Munson
A lot of options, all for a great cause.
Jay R
This place is a really cool place the prices are good and you can find just about everything and anything, they have very unique things and you won't be disappointed. Love love this place. Best thrift shop in my opinion!
Mira Zyra
A hidden gem for mosaic artists. The huge selection of mismatched plates and bowls is an excellent source of shiny, inexpensive smash-able items that would otherwise cost a fortune. This place allowed me to start creating mosaic art inspired by south philly's Magic Garden.
Plus the staff is always helpful, and they've got a ton of other awesome stuff too.
I can't wait until the virus apocalypses is over and I can go shop here regularly again.
Vee T
I absolutely love this place. It’s such an easy spot to wander, relax, and get lost looking through all the donated treasures. Bonus is that every purchase you make goes to a good cause!
I would recommend going on a weekday rather than a weekend since it can get a bit hectic. But that’s just the nature of crowds. The staff does an amazing job handling whatever comes thru the door. Either way, I tell everyone that they must visit this place. It’s iconic.
April Shaw
It was so much fun walking through this store. They have an insane selection of thrift items from clothing to furniture. Even if you don't buy anything, this place is still so much fun to walk around in. The staff have always been friendly and the service is fairly quick.
Michael Donnelly
I stop by, regularly, for cool DVD's or my neverending search for a great cast iron pan. Go here for the bargains but mostly, to support a great organization!
Rob S
Great place. Awesome book selection for $.99
Edit: This IS a great place, but forcing people to leave their backpacks at the desk is an unacceptable policy. I don’t come to your store to steal, so don’t treat me like a thief. I have a $2,000 laptop in my backpack most of the time. You have some donated books. Who has more to lose in this scenario?
ashley armbruster
Walked in 5 minutes to close and was told to take my time - that was awesome. Found this gem and got it for a great deal!
Felix Garcia
Couple years ago I came to visit a friend for the first time here in Philadelphia she lives a few blocks away from this amazing thrift shop. Remember purchasing these amazing comeback boots for a reasonable price. Anything you purchase there is for a good cost. So now I’m back in Philly for a few days and unfortunately it saddens me that is closed due to the coronavirus and I hope that the next time I’m back hopefully sooner I will come back to this beautiful magical place. The only warning that I have to say is if you suffer from allergies make sure you have allergy pills with you before entering the store. Other than that it’s perfect!
Brittany Wickham
Not only will you have a great time exploring the various sections of this two-story thrift spot, but there's no way you can leave empty handed! Things are fairly priced, and there's an entire dollar section. This is also where I choose to buy most my books! Usually under $5.
Daniel Christo
I love this place. Always a plethora of eclectic things. I always leave there with clothing, art, furniture, or books.
I would recommend blocking out a good amount of time to visit. There is so much to see, and go through, it can take hours. But if you are the type who gets pleasure for Hunter/gatherer types of activities, this is the place for you!
Sparky KDS
Very nice atmosphere. Very good prices. Fun little things to see in there. Lots of books, records, tapes and vintage clothing.

This store is one of the best if not the best thrift store, they're clothes are great quality, the store is super clean and the employees are very friendly and helpful. Not only do they have a great selection of clothes but they have just about everything you could need...I recommend this store 100%
Beth Hatter
This place is amazing. They have a large selection of clothing and housewares. There is some furniture sprinkled about, but that's not the main thing they sell. I have loved being here, every time. The volunteers and workers are amazing, and are always willing to help. there are 2 floors to look through, with dollar land on the second floor where each piece of clothing in the room is only $1! Lots and lots of stuff to choose from. There is an elevator for people who need to use it, it is hiding behind the curtain, and it is slow, but it works. And it also very interesting to be in. It is not for use by everyone since PAT themselves use it a lot to move things through the floors.
I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for cool clothing, or vintage stuff at a thrift price. Don't forget to say 'Hi!' to Adam and Christian in the back.
Ronnie Rozenkranz- Boxford
I adore this thrift store. Best finds, and lovely staff, and all kinds of absolute treasures.
Amanda Cooper
I could spend hours browsing the book section! The store itself is massive and funky but always clean. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Easily one of my fave spots in the city to spend an afternoon.
Jillian Isinthehouse
My man & I love this place. He introduced me to this place in May & since then, we make it a point to explore yummy restaurants near it. That way we put our name in at a restaurant & get an hour to kill, searching one of the coolest thrift stores you’ll come across...especially anywhere around here.
It’s a mish mosh of randomness that I absolutely love. Take a trip & you are sure to have walks down memory lane, as you find things you haven’t seen since a child. If you don’t want to remember your childhood...I get it, feel free to check out all they have & buy something for your favorite little person. Lots of stuff is still in the boxes & is just as good as buying from home goods...except shopping at Philly AIDS Thrift is for a great cause.
Do yourself a favor & check it out! 😉👍🏼👍🏼
Robert McCormick
I've been going here for years and I have never left without buying something.
Great selection of books, furniture, glass and clothing.
Sweet Gargiulo
awesome place great finds
Megan Degeorge
This place is always a good time. It’s an experience and you’ll never know what you’ll find. They have awesome prices, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. They were really nice and helped us get an absurdly large couch out of the store in a rain storm, and if someone will help you with that, they’re pretty cool.
Sarah Rose
Got some good deals, yet the floor/carpet made really weird noises
Richard Peterson
This is a really great thrift store , with fantastic people running it ! Adam, Kristina and Josh plus a virtual army of volunteers who donate their time and energy to not just a great store but a great cause ! Helping people afflicted with this terrible disease !! And on a personal note , while I don't have this illness , I was homeless for years ! And w/o the staff over the years and Adam and Kristina I wouldn't have made it ! Thanks a lot @phillyaidsthrift And please donate times or unwanted or unneeded possessions ! Except for socks and underwear that's a negative Ghost Rider !! Post , donate, share !!
deborah kemp
Great thrift department store! You can spend hours here...but, don't expect to always find a specific item; stock changes regularly. The BEST place for books- SO cheap! Great employees/volunteers, insane music, free HIV testing, & all for a good cause! ; )
Ky Ferguson
Awesome place to find used books and clothing. Also has some art and other household goods and decor. Give yourself an hour to explore the place, even though it seems small.
M Kelly
Philly AIDS Thrift is easily one of my favorite second-hand stores. You simply can't find the quantity and quality of items under one roof anywhere else, and the pricing is spot-on. The staff are always kind and helpful; really, they're the best! The merchandise displays are gloriously well-organized, aethetically pleasing and intuitive. I recommend first-time visitors allot time to make your way through the whole place. If for some unfathomable reason you leave empty handed you won't have wasted the time; shopping here is good fun!
Loren Hicks
A wonderful space with lots of little nooks and crannies to facilitate an authentic thrifting experience.
The selection doesn't change much though. I've stopped by a few times this year and keep finding the same selection of glassware. But it's an actual thrift store, so the prices are wonderful!
Vilene Tellez
I was looking for vintage clothes or good cheap clothes, I went to at least 3 stores like this but for a second hand store the prices were too high, this store is the best, I mean, I found new clothes at a very good price ( some Levi's pants, skirts for work, cool shirts) plus some jewelry of my taste and that is very difficult also the staff was very nice and friendly, I never write reviews but this store is worth it
Mary Kate D
I thrift alot, and out of Philly's thrift stores this is probably my favorite! I've gotten $500 skirts from their dollar bin, beautiful vintage and all types of goodies-rarely over $5 per item. I've never walked out with less than 3 things oops 😂 go check it out you'll be happy you did. …
Garvin Kelly
The best thrift store in the city! Not only do they have great stuff, prices and staff but they also actually raise money for a good cause that I am happy to support unlike the other thrift stores in the city
Pas Argenio
What's not to like? Great value. Fits with my worldview. Great cause for a non-profit. And the staff is savant-level of service. Dig around and find what you like on 3 floors.
Kim sharpe
The staff was awesome. I had my client with me, he is handicapped and walks with a special walker. He can't stand for long periods at a time , they let sit in a folding chair, he needed to use the rest room and they accommodated use. So compassionate and never did the act like I was getting on their nerves. God bless you all.
Papyrus Apollo
It's an honor and a privilege to be a part of such a wonderful fun place! Great deals with treasures to behold, and there's always a sale for any given reason! Even for the weak of heart with how crazy it is because the staff and volunteers will be more than happy to help anyone and everyone in need! I wish they had in-store WiFi, but I can live without it!
Caroline Judy
Great variety, great prices, and even better staff. Yesterday I witnessed one of the employees leading a blind man around the store to help him find items he needed for at least a half hour. She held his hand to guide him, told him what the items looked like, and treated him with so much kindness and patience
Atisha
One of my fave thrift stores in Philly. Prices are reasonable and the people that work there are always helpful and friendly...plus, you know you are supporting a great cause when you shop :-)
macy tartanella
Went here yesterday for the first time. I love the vibe of this place it’s so cool. I discovered the $1 bins and walked out with a bunch of great stuff. Staff was great. Can’t wait to go back and see what else I can find.
Hunter Smith
Best thrifting experience you’re gonna get in the city. Bunch of fairly price furniture, decorations, books, records/CDs, kitchenware, and of course clothes! There’s a $1 room with a bunch of $1 clothes racks and bins. Bins you have to do a bunch of searching, but I don’t think there has been a time I haven’t found at least one thing inside those bins. The staff is always super friendly and helpful and if you’re looking for something specific they can usually push you in the right direction. Also free condoms right when you walk in and sexual screenings upstairs every once in awhile.
Huda Salman
I love this place I just went to the shop today. Staff are nice also lots of affordable price items. Recommend for vintage lovers I'll make sure to pay a visit again next time when i have a change!
Ian Everhart
My wife and I love coming to this two-story thrift store. It's stuffed with clothes, household goods, books, and other finds. Don't get overwhelmed but there is a lot there to consider and buy. Prices range between decent bargains and amazing steals.
Nicole Thuestad
This place is a lot of fun. It is a big thrift store with a ton of items, but they are nicely categorized in the store. You can't beat the prices and they always seem to have some kind of special or deal going on. If you like secondhand shopping, you'll have fun here.
Trevorr DiMeo
This is kinda the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory of thrift stores. An amazing set up, and staff. I went in with my youngest son today and he was blown away. There really is something for everyone. The prices are reasonable and the money goes to a great cause.
Tlarock
Love love love this place. True gems are to be found here but you gotta be prepared to so some digging and you too will have an ah ha moment as you find things you have to have but did not know you needed. They have it all. Furniture, men's and women's and children's clothes. Hand bags and back packs and suitcases oh my. OMG. They have shoes. Wonderful terrific shoes. They even have jewellery and kitchen ware and an electronics area with some pretty cool finds. There is even a grand piano for sale and the price is right. The piano is not cheap but perhaps for a baby grand its tots worth it. All in all its value city. They have dollar bins people. Dollar bins.
A word of advice. It can get a little muggy in there. All those people looking, digging, finding and then dancing the i found it dance. Its a unique improvisational dance that involves a presentation of the found item to whoever is around you and a little two step stomp and a little funky chicken. Well for me anyway.
Another word of advice to you shopaholics and hoarders. Be careful or you may need an intervention because it's so easy to get carried away here. Ask yourself. Do I want this? Do I need this? Can i live without this? Do I have this already have this? Then when you got your pile going do this Q&A one more time. Lime green bell bottoms are perhaps a must have article of clothing for the fahion forward but it may not be the easiest thing to match up to the rest of your wardrobe if it's a go then buy people buy buy buy. If you have read this far you are as kooky as I am so here's the best thing. Free bins. Yes folks free bins. Sometimes its books and plates and other times pure retail gold. I got a working laptop out of their with a power cord. It was a few years old but still current and started up and it's still running and that makes me want to dance dance dance.
Thomas McHugh
Very organized store. They have a large selection of used objects from clothing to dishes to furniture to music and movies and books. I volunteered here in my senior year of high school for community service. The staff are very friendly!
Ashley Hughes
All for supporting their cause... Its not a thrift store I feel is a drive out of your way kind of place.
It is fairly organized.
People are friendly!
Smells kinda funky-certainly not out of the norm.
They are priced at vintage boutique/ antique store price points.
$90 for dried up leather Fryes. $199 for an old radio cabinet in fair condition. Books are priced to eBay's buy it now prices.
This is coming from an "out a town-er"
Perhaps locals have better scores.
Evelyn Arana
This is the best thrift store I have been to thus far. Everything is organized very well in this large, 2 floor store. You can find almost anything like furniture, clothing, books, and electronics. They also accept things you no longer want or need. Just drop it off inside to the right of the cashier's area.
Samantha Schlegel
One of the only real thrift stores left in the city. Low prices for great items, quick turnover on stock, and in general well maintained. All their volunteers are happy and provide a great atmosphere, even when someone has broken their front window.
Josh Warshauer
One of the best thrift stores I've ever been to, there is amazing stuff that you just need to know how to find things. Don't be afraid to look at the dollar section on the top floor. You can find interesting and great things.
eugene gourley
Can usually find some decent secondhand items here, but they are still ruñning under Covid restrictions with donations limited to 3 days a week so stock inventory is limited as well. This will change as the pandemic does.
Soul Cooke
A very cool thrift store with good prices and incredibly friendly staff.
The store is difficult to manuve with a cart or in a wheelchair, although it is possible. They do not play loud music.
They have clothes, books, music including vinal, kitchen supplies, and furniture.
It's a great place to go treasure hunting, my sister and I found just about everything we were looking for, which ranges from kitchen appliances to interview clothes.
The dressing area was large enough to fit my sister, myself, my service dog, and out cart. Very accessable.
Kelley Cosgrove
This place has a great selection. I had been looking for a slide projector at several thrifts, and the finally found two here. The one I bought was less expensive than the eBay and Craigslist ones, and worked perfectly. I go here whenever I'm in the area.
Sarah Grace Wood
Great place to find clothes, books, movies, housewares and oddities at great prices. Though the store has two large floors to peruse, it's a popular place, so it's often pretty crowded. Be sure to check back often for new finds.
stressdressed
probably shouldn’t call it AIDS but i get it. thanks for the top i bought from there. i also got a “oh the places you’ll go” book. haven’t read it but looks sick. might find rats there but part of the experience. lov this place
Kyle V
Tremendous thrift store! Have been a customer for many years. Always worth stopping in whether it’s just to kill some time or if you’re actually in search of something specific. Usually you’ll leave with something
kalia jones
Everytime I visit this place, I never left unsatisfied. I've been buying items from Philly aids thrift for 5 years. Just made a visit today and only spent $12!!!! And I have a bag full of things.....in good condition. The staff are really nice and helpful, clothes are clean, store is clean and organized. I love it
Mary Skelly
I could never go in there without buying something. they always have cool stuff although sometimes it's a little bit expensive. But they also have a free bucket out front which is pretty awesome and I found some really good scores in there.
Leanne M
It is a pretty good thrift store with good prices and service. However it is highly unorganized and smells pretty bad. Everything is everywhere, there's really no system to where anything is. Some shoppers may not mind this, but for me it makes it not very enjoyable
Katie Durkin
I've found the BEST stuff here! It's always fun to go and browse. The people are friendly and the place is just fun! It turned me on to thrifting for sure, but it's also the best thrift store I've found so you're spoiled if you can go here regularly!
Victoria T
Love this place. Been going to it since it was on South St. Two stories and multiple rooms of good stuff. Books are orgainzed by category. There is a vintage clothing room, a furniture room, kids stuff area, kitchen stuff rooms, audio video room and a $1 room. Highly recommended if you love thrift stores.
T Harris
I love thrift shops and enjoyed my 1st visit to Philly AIDS Thrift. Lots, lots, and lots of things-some really good. I would have welcomed some assistance with loading the bulky; yet, really nice items I brought. I will shop again and hope for more assistance with my purchase if needed.
Miguel Vasquez
First of all I want to thanks all of the great helping hand that make this store possible everione working there are very helpful and polite Specially Mr ADAM, I stopped by almost everyday and he always have this great and friendly sctitud. It make you feel part of the store :) . My wife and I moved back to Philly not too long ago, our house was empty at the begining but we had found so much here at Philly Aids Thrift store . .that even our kids have their toy box full of toys that we have found here at very very affordable prices.. thank you and God bless you all for keeping your doors open ....
Jerrin Palathinkal
A very colorful thrift store. But expensive! I wouldn't call this a thrift store, more like a collectors arena. Not worth the hype.
Ashes Bijoux
Great shop, especially if you want to find something unique. The 1$ room is wonderful for anyone who wants to look their best without spending top dollar. Staff is friendly & helpful.
Gilberto Kengkart
This place is awesome. Come here time to time to check out what they got. They always have the coolest and useful things for sale i allways leave with something and the prices are right!! Its pretty nice sized too!!
Beverly Riemer
Was surprised by how many awesome things were here and every corner I took would lead me into a brand new room filled with treasures! Will most definitely be coming back. Thanks for such a great experience!
Justin A Mahoney
You can find just about anything here for prices that are so low you have to take a second look at the tag. Make sure you go on the first Saturday every month for a $1 heaven sale. Also Every other Tuesday everything is 25 percent off. The staff is amazing, extremely kind, funny and helpful
Sean Olivier
Chaotic but it's my favorite thrift store in Philly. Great if you're looking for cheap and unique clothing. I always leave with something interesting or cute to wear and everything is so cheap it's hard to get just one.
Jaelyn Stringer
I enjoyed going through the dollar rack and bin, can't find much clothes for a dollar even at Thrift stores, I also seen some trendy T-shirts.It was ok, I am a bigger size so so it's hard to find items at Thrift stores, but a smaller size will probably have more of a selection.
Michael Rosen
This thrift shop is large but cramped. The merchandise ranges from flea market to high-quality The store sells clothing, housewares, books, and more. It's a fun place to explore, and the shopping is guilt-free given the cause it supports.
Anayi Jackson
I absolutely loved it here, everyone was sooo nice I cant wait to go back !!! Really good book collection 10/10 <3
박하영
Huge and interesting store! Having lots of stuff that you can try on, and some old enough historical things. Also with the mindful goal to help HIV and AIDS people. What a perfect store which has ideal goals!
Nate Kleinman
Wonderful store with lots of great people. Heavy turnover makes for an interesting visit every time. Books are a particular strength.
Ross Weisman
One of my favorite spots in the city! Philly AIDS has two sprawling floors of clothing and other goodies (games, DVDs, glassware, etc.), and I always find something fun and a little offbeat. They also raise money for AIDS causes and provide HIV testing for free (haven’t personally done this but haven’t heard complaints).
Even if you don’t buy anything, having a nice walk around will delight you. It’s just a block from all the shops and bustle of South Street! Pro tip: take a look at their clothing tags, and you’ll usually see a fun message from the employees.
Barbara Pardo
Always found something useful! Great place to find 1 of a kind used items! I will be back.
Joshua Linton
Really cool place. You never know what you will find. Everyone there is friendly and helpful
Aaron N. Brock
A lot of interesting items, none of which particular suited my fancy but they were well priced.
Ree Benton
Pretty cool finds, very nice workers. BUT for a thrift store, some of the prices were a bit high ¬ worth it considering the apparel item.. But it's also downtown, so. Other than that I loved this store!!
lala stein
Love this place, it's always busy. New stuffs coming every day. I got some cool vintage from clothes to art and pretty much everything else.
Sherry
Really great place to stop and browse. They're full of treasures! Very nice staff.
Albert Arocho
If you're ever in South Philadelphia and looking for a good thrift store where you can buy quality goods, do yourself a favor and visit this place first. They have a smorgasbord of things, and you will definitely find something that will catch your eye. The other thing is that a percentage of the money that they make goes towards a good cause. Additionally they offer on-site HIV testing in a private area on the second floor. Furthermore they have a $1 section for those that are on a tight budget. Take your time and search for a great find. Happy hunting.
Matt Ruby
I can't say enough good things about Philly AIDS thrift. They have a wonderfully eclectic selection of clothing at fantastic prices, friendly staff, and proceeds support an excellent cause. Hands down one of the best thrift stores in the city.
Holly Patterson
I always find cool retro vintage things here! Clothing, shoes, furniture, books, records, knickknacks, prom dresses, stereo systems, you name it! And they take cards thanks to their Square Reader. My favorite thrift store in Philly!
Abby Potts
This place is the bomb! I have gotten some wonderful outfits and goodies. It's fun also to go to even if you don't find anything for yourself.
Aaron Reyes
Definitely a great place to find good deals on clothes, housewares, media and knick knacks. 1st Saturdayof the month is dollar frenzy on the third floor (mostly clothes) which definitely describes how fast things are grabbed and purchased.
Vani Little Star
ALWAYS a pleasure to visit. Everyone is friendly no hovering. Explore look around you will definitely find something for yourself friends family dog cat etc LOVE Philly Aids. Plus you're supporting people good feeling
Agustina M.
Great store with lots if everything and great staff.
Prudence Delilah Noera Carmichael
This is the first thrift shop I take friends to if they don't know the Philly circuit. It's two floors of everything you'd expect from a thrift store: knick-knacks, cd's, kitchen supplies, furniture, tapestries, and of course, clothes. So many clothes. Great selection especially for women, but their unisex t-shirts are always on point too.
Bouquet Harger
All staff at Philly Aids are volunteers and they do a stellar job. The place is a mix of eccentricity, organized chaos, and hidden treasures. It's always fun to go there and see what you can find.
Mo
I absolutely love this place. I was so shocked when I saw the total cost for all of the great items I found. I can't wait to go back.
Ashley Shields
My first trip here and I'm in love. So many cool, interesting, vintage, weird things. Good prices. Nice people. HUGE selection.
Saint Gizmo Kinasz
I don't see why anyone would spend their money elsewhere buying clothing the clothing at Philly AIDS Thrift for the most part is almost like new the prices are radically affordable the people who work there have love and kindness coming out of their eyeballs and it all goes to a good cause so don't waste one more Penny shopping anywhere else take it from Saint Gizmo kinasz the place to buy your clothing ,bric-a-brac , furniture even antiques since everything is donated you always get a great Buy and don't donate one more thing to the Salvation Army give it to Philly AIDS Thrift
Bronwyn McGuckin
Best thrift shop in the world. Not just Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, but the world.
Clothes, books, furniture, knick knacks, electronics, music, movies, kitchen goods - they have it all.
They have amazing sales constantly and prices are fair every day. Proceeds support HIV/AIDS organizations in the area, and over the years, they've given over $1.5 million to the cause.
The staff and volunteers are top notch. No visit to Philly is complete without stopping here. Make sure you bring an empty suitcase with you, for all the goodies you'll bring home.
K. Patrick Bowen
Philly AIDS Thrift is, hands down, the best thrift store in Philadelphia. The place is huge and filled with great stuff from antiques, oddities and collectibles to high end clothing, shoes and accessories. The inventory never seems to get stale and the prices are also the best in Philadelphia....two words.... DOLLAR ROOM. I find so many things there that I don't really ever have to do another load of laundry again. I don't volunteer or work for Philly AIDS Thrift in any way; I just love this place and I think you will also. Oh, on your way out, don't forget to check out the things they're giving away for free. I give Philly AIDS Thrift my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!
Jay D.
One of the largest and most well-decorated thrift stores I've ever been in, hands down. There's always something neat.
Adrian Corbey
Anything under the sun can be found here. Need an authentic 1920s flapper dress? You got it. Need a leather recliner? Check need clothing for children? Its there. Love cathode ray televisions? Take your pick.
Jessica Villarreal
I went in to donate. I had an entire SUV full of boxes. I asked if there was someone available to help me unload but the 2 men I spoke with both told me they were too busy and to 'do it myself'. When I asked where I could put the boxes they just said wherever. I unloaded 20 boxes in the rain by myself. Now, I don't expect much for donating (it's good for the soul) but I generally take a tax form to include in my annual filing. When I asked I was pointed to the counter and a receipt pad and told to do it myself. I probably would have looked around but everyone was so rude that by that point I just wanted to leave. Ultimately it's for charity so may go back.
Rin moonshadow
Loads of stuff dominant every inch of this place. All of it being offered for a very reasonable price and if you buy in bulk they are willing to work with you on the cost. 10/10 will come again.
Kahlif Phillips
One of fav places in the city! So good for costume and prop designs and the occasional knick knack.
Can't overestimate how awesome this place is!
Micah Fish-Gertz
Philly AIDS Thrift allows one and all to purchase used goods for to help a great cause in the process. I've purchased many things here, from books to burning man outfits! I can always find something "new" here, and feel good about it!
Rachel K
One of my favorite places to shop! Items here might be a little more expensive then other second hand stores, but they have a great selection and everything is grouped by size.
Matthew Roberts
Treasures, steals, deals and finds of all kinds abound here. But! You must bring patience and a fisherman's outlook: even the best spot can be fished-out some days....so, stop back again.
C Simpson
Loved the place and the customer service.
It's huge and can be overwhelming. Not a lot of vintage finds for Size Large but I did score some nice tshirts!
Brandon Miller
I've been going to this place for a very long time. Probably the best thrift store in the area.
Robert Hering

Great prices, big selection, helpful staff. Snagged a Gap long sleeve linen shirt for a dollar.
James Bradford
Philly AIDS Thrift is one of the most superb organizations I've ever encountered. Owned with love and staffed with volunteers, they are a warehouse sized thrift store with everything you could possibly want to buy at prices you can't beat. Truly nothing beats it in the city of Philadelphia.
Shannon Sims
One of my go to stores!! I could spend hours looking through what they have and I always walk away with a good gem
Trumpet Wom
Great large selection with amazing prices
My only issue was how unneccessarily loud the music was. It was at night club levels and some of the music was questionable for a store that sells kids clothes.
Destiny Elings
Great selection and on par prices with other thrift stores. Huge place and everyone can find something they like
matthew shaheen
Kool place with lots of nastalgia. Retro themes from the 60's and 70's. Loved the concert poster's and the vintage clothing. Definitely a must visit place for the young and old.....kudos P.A.T.

It's an amazing thrift store in Philadelphia Philly AIDS thrift donates majority of their proceeds to HIV AIDS research but it's a one-of-a-kind artistic expression where you can find Tiffany's or Coach or Kate Spade designersalso you can find that random Barbie doll or VHS tape you never really wanted
Amanda Klein
Great place to shop - donates to AIDS awareness and treatment. Quickly rotates through new inventory. Has free HIV testing on site. Worthy and a Philly institution.
Roweena D'Souza
Very easy to donate stuff, right at the entrance and they don't really seem to reject anything either and I believe will provide a receipt if you need one.
Marko Mircetic
In addition to finding furniture for my apartment (real wood, not IKEA pressboard), Philly AIDS is a wonderful organization. I informed them that I was caring for an elderly, homeless gentleman with swollen feet from heart failure, and they gave me a size 15 pair of leather shoes for free. He was elated, absolutely elated, and I'm now a forever customer of Philly AIDS Thrift. I can't say enough good to justify this place. I only know that I'm a regular now, and am so grateful for the work they do in the community.
Louis Brodkin
