Reviews of Monarch Thrift Shop
Shop for a great cause! I found all the little things I needed for my house for pennies on the dollar. The staff is welcoming and the children's art display touches my heart. Thank you for giving young artist the respectful display space they deserve. <3
Arrived ther by “mistake” as I went to pick up a package but i felt happy about the kindness and great customer service.
Definitely will come back, this time as customer
I got a Harvard Windsor Chair. This is definitely an item that puts the living together.
I love shopping here--everything about this place is great. The staff and volunteers that run Monarch keep everything beautifully organized and displayed, they're super friendly and welcoming, and I always find a good deal. I also love their mission and feel good about my dollars supporting an important cause. This is not your typical thrift store because everything is so clean and organized! Don't let that fool you--they have amazing sales and great bargains.
Nice selection and quality of clothing available, at great prices. Plenty of higher end brands like jcrew and banana republic, and their wool/cashmere sweater offerings are in decent shape with minimal moth/hole damage.
the woman working there was so kind and friendly. great selection and great prices. love the new spot!! cute pup too
Really trendy place to visit, good clean and crisp look and a nostalgic blast from the past. Liked this picture, typewriter from the store.
I cannot say enough good things about this store! The prices were reasonable and the employees were nice, friendly, and helpful. The earrings were all $3.99 and pre-paired in baggies. The store was neat, clean, organized. The merchandise was of good quality. It's non-profit and you can make donations. Bring extra plastic bags to donate here too. Can't wait to go back!
I love Monarch. It’s my favorite thrift store. The staff is really friendly, and I find great stuff there. They also take a wider variety of things for donation than anywhere else I’ve been. In fact, they don’t turn anything away. Whatever they won’t sell they’ll donate to the appropriate place.
This place is so fun! The selection changes regularly and has a great variety of women's and men's clothing as well as household goods, books and cds. I found an up-to-date suit (brand new!) for my 16 year old son for $20! For a kid who is still growing or for men who want a fashion forward suit very inexpensively, the Indochino line of suits is a great option. Did I say that they're brand new? On top of all that the staff are super friendly and the cause is so worth it!
I'd almost rather give this shop horrible reviews and chase people away. I've found something (usually multiple somethings) every time I go in. And I go in often! Good selection. Great pricing. Helpful staff. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you know everyone working there. Great addition to Logan Square (or any neighborhood for that matter).
Ruined my Chicago vacation with Lust.
Went to visit my son in Chicago. My dream to see finally see The Institute happened Cool. But then we went thrifting. This place blew my mind compared to the Boston area. (And Buffalo thing)
I couldn't stop. It's organized but there's still hunting: accessories, Books!, higher end clothes, hardcore Phyllis Diller Vintage. Very low musty smell likely kept me going.
I imagine it's popular around Halloween. I was there so long and often I used their small toilet 6 times (extremely not disabled friendly, look under stairs.)
After a week in Chicago I was able to text my son "I'm at the Thrift store" and I'm not a walker lol. Get this I had to buy a suitcase from them.
Great prices. Not a lot of kids stuff or kitchen things when I was there but I wasn't really paying enough attention. I got some great arts and crafts items, cool purses, silly tops which were too small (my fault lol but I made them into lamp shades) pricey stuff up front btw so don't be saying it's expensive cause you walked in and out.
Lots of people donating while I was there. Pretty hip ones too.
Be warned if you thrift, ok?
They had bags, they were kind. Bliss.
My daughter and i love it!! I have bought books, pants and an awesome dresser old school style. All for prices you can't find anywhere else. Going back for a couch set that is hopefully still there.
I’ve found great finds a jewelry box to clothes for my daughter! Great friendly staff too. Will definitely be back!
Found this dress on depop four years ago when I was a teenager w no job. Looked for it for a while after it sold and was never able to find another one until now. 💜💜 …
The staff here are so nice and friendly and you can find a variety of nice clothing for men and women and not only clothing but jewelry, culinary items, books, toys, desks, furniture, etc. for reasonable prices and everything is donated. Great that this thrift store opened in the neighborhood
This is a tidy shop with a friendly staff and a good selection. Prices are fair, especially for Logan Square.
This spankin' new nonprofit thrift store in the Logan Square/Avondale neighborhood is a wonderful addition to Chicago's resale scene. Open since October 10, the store's packed with great merchandise at very attractive prices. For the treasure hunter, there are some very cool items, including a Waterford crystal Christmas tree topper. For fashionistas, the selection of women's, men's, and children's clothing is excellent and nicely displayed. I'm a furniture aficianado, and I really like some of the casegoods I saw. I didn't buy anything today, but I'll be back. For those of us looking to save a few bucks, suggest putting Monarch on your list of places to shop!
Purchased a fleece jacket from Monarch Thrift Shop's online store. The jacket was in great condition and arrived quickly! I used a previously purchased gift card for part of the cost and that worked well.
Great shopping experience! Store is very clean, tidy, great selection of goods, and awesome staff! Cant wait to shop there again.
Love this little thrift store. Would love to see a better selection of women's sizes and clothing. Lots of cool stuff to look at normally. A little pricey at times.
I found a lot of great items here. The staff is very friendly and there is always some sort of deal going on. Great selections!
Had a great time today shopping at Monarch. Everyone is super nice, and they have a great assortment of treasures for everyone. Highly recommend.
