Reviews of Savers
Prices across Savers everywhere have gone up astronomically. It has gotten to the point where you could shop on Amazon for new items for less than you would pay for them used. HOWEVER, there are still some great deals mixed in if you have the time to look, and there is a wide variety. Customer service is really mixed. There are a couple of women in there who are consistently welcoming, warm and very helpful. There are others who are quite the opposite, particularly on the donation dock and some of the people at the front of the store. Good and bad in every business, and I understand that working in retail can be difficult. I think they could work on leading with kindness, especially when dealing with non-difficult customers and those trying to donate quality items.
Looks like my review was deleted! Anyway, if anyone is looking to spend 1,800$ on a non appraised necklace , this is the place for you! New manager has run this place to the ground. Used to be good, still hit or miss most of the time but prices are going way too high for a thrift store
I LIKE THE SAVERS CHAIN/I'VE BEEN TA THE PORTSMOUTH AREA 1 AND THE NASHUA 1 AND THIS MANCHESTER 1 AND LIKE THEM ALL!!!
I ALWAYS FIND SOMETHING I BUY...
WITH THE ECONOMY BAD LATELY THESE STORES ATTRACT SOME PEOPLE THAT WOULDN'T NORMALLY SHOP IN A PLACE LIKE THIS BUT I FIND SOME NEW STUFF OR SLIGHTLY USED 4 A FAIR PRICE AND IT IS WHAT IT IS!!!
THEIR SELF CHECK-OUT IS STATE OF THE ART AND BRAND NEW HEAVY-DUTY PAPER-BAGS R GREAT TA BRING THE GOODS HOME!!!
GOOD DEALS CAN B FOUND!!! 👢
Great thrift store. A little bit pricey with some of the clothes depending on what name brands, but over all I love this place! 11/2022 prices on used clothing/ home goods have even risen. High prices take the thrill out of thrifting. Just saying
I always find the best treasures and deals here and the employees are friendly and helpful. I've seen some customers who were rude and nasty so that's probably why the bad reviews. I've always gotten the help I needed
To the Krystal Kate Karen two reviews down, savers clearly states on many tags that no exchange is available, meaning if clothes don’t fit, electronics don’t work etc, you cannot get a refund. They are AS IS.. Also, they have always stated there are FOR-PROFIT, so that’s your issue if you don’t want them making money. Have a nice day
P.S.
“KARMA” left a review saying that items that get donated here go up for auction on their website, and that you’d rather shop at the goodwill bins. Honey, you got them mixed up. Goodwill actually puts their items up for auction on their website, while savers doesn’t. People are so clueless
It's Savers, high prices, I usually don't find anything I'd rather wear than what I already have, and there's always some guy who'd buying the overpriced antiques to resell them elsewhere. I'd say I'm becoming disillusioned by the thrift craze. There's no longer a sense that you'll find a treasure. The hipster staff and resale gurus already nabbed it, or it was sent off to eBay (Goodwill) I've resolved to buy less, and go for handmade/bespoke/custom when I do buy. It actually supports a person. These thrift stores no longer support community access to used goods.
Manchester Store was clean lots of inventory, knick knacks and books. Self checkout is not fun but there's enough staff to assist you if needed. Noticed several items were way over priced...half burnt candles for 7.99?!?
Savers is a decent thrift store chain but it's still a thrift store chain. It's much better organized than Goodwill and the Salvation Army or Burlington. ((Don't get me started about Burlington. I've checked out the prices there and while they look very much like Savers, their prices are comparable to Marshall's and TJ Maxx. Why would anyone shop in a store looking like Savers having Marshall's prices?))
I'm thankful they offer discounts for veterans but it's only once a week and there are none close by. Goodwill does the same thing, however, they have locations all over the place so I can take advantage of of that opportunity if only once a week.
So, since they have limited locations (only two or three in my state none that can be considered close by), why not make exceptions for shoppers, especially those who are members, who don't have a store nearby?
They have switched to nearly exclusively self check-out stations. Unfortunately, they are not as well designed nor work as well anywhere close to the ones at major retailers.
All the locations I've been to are kept clean, well lit, and usually well organized. Another bonus is they offer free shopper memberships offering bonuses based on shopping habits.
All in all, Savers is a good discount chain with good staff and a nice environment.
in comparison to newington and plaistow savers, this location was great. very clean store, big and i found lots of name brand clothes and cute styles. i do have to agree with others that the prices are pretty high. i am very happy with my finds today and will be back though.
Prices are…strange. Like you’ll see an item from Dollar Tree listed at $4, but then you find something nice for a good price. Staff is nice. Good place to find china.
Store is huge. Huge collection of all men, women and children clothing, shoes, household and furniture. Some prices were very good but i found many things that were overpriced. I wont pay $8-$10 for a used t-shirt or tank top.
Everything I bought was so nice overall very clean store.
It was ok. Didn't find anything really but nice just browsing around. Very friendly. Only thing was another of people outside door asking for money known for doing the wrong thing little scary.
* Going to Savers is always a pleasant experience. The selections are so much better then Salvation Army or other thrift stores. The people are always so polite and upbeat.
The clothes they have are in much better shape, sometimes even brand new. Sometimes even still with the original tags on it.
Their equipment such as bicycles, Sporting Goods, and electronics are always in excellent working condition.
Personal Story: my wife left her purse hanging on one of the racks while trying on a sweater. And mistakenly walked away from it. Frantically looking for it later, we thought it was stolen.
Unbeknownst to us,
The manager had seen it hanging there and had taken it and put it in a safe place behind the counter. That manager Saved the Day.!
Because we would have been in pretty bad shape, without car keys, her wallet, and work ID, her driver's license, etc etc etc.
Savers is a great place whether you need to Kill 30 minutes just to see what they have NEW and Exciting, or whether you're on a mission to find something that you could really use for your home. They usually have wonderful crockpots, extraordinary glassware, and wonderful seasonal type chachkas!
There isn't anything bad I can say about savers.
They even have a unbelievably huge parking lot. Easy access if you are handicapped, no door thresholds to worry about or stairs. Wide Isles, and conveniently height merchandise displays.
If you haven't been to Savers go check it out, and if you have been Savers oh, you know what I'm talking about. Enjoy!
As a reseller, it’s huge having this giant thrift store down the street from me. Although prices are usually high and i don’t pick up much, I do occasionally find some good stuff. I think this Savers location is better than the goodwills near it.
Usually like savers idk what's going on but the prices seem to be getting high for no reason. Used Wrangler jeans were $11. Didn't make sense. Pretty sure they are around $15 new.
If your looking for something in particular they probably have it, Or something that just catches your eye they probably have it, Great selection at great prices.
Love savers great plus size clothes shoes and jewlery and accessories.lots to look at depending on what you like.
Not sure why the negative reviews! I come here every week! So addicting. I always find super good deals. Today I found two items worth lots of money for super cheap. This is better than most thrift stores in Boston.
Love going in and poking around to find new (old treasures) it’s usually pretty clean, most of the staff is pleasant and friendly. I have been going here for years and have recently noticed that some of the prices have gone up but not too bad, still worth going in to shop around :)
Self checkout is now a thing at Savers and it truly sucks. I am no cashier, awkward and slow at removing the hangers, shoving my purchases messily into the reusable bag I brought. I look around and I am not alone in frustration at being forced into a profession I've got no training for, and unhappy to end a shopping trip this way.
Great prices and great selection of everything.
I love this store! Some things are a bit expensive for a thrift store but they are better than Goodwill in price and quality.
As of 1.10.2022 there are mainly self check out asiles here looks allot different... I go to savers atleast once a week. Today I got one really nice long dress shirt for 4.49 a red hooded knitted sweater for 5.49 and a long floral shirt for 5.49. I am a bigger person so it's hard to find my size thankfully savers offer sizes from extra extra small to 26 jeans and 4x shirts on the regular. They also have a huge selection of clothes that still have the tags including winter gear. I also furnished my house using savers. Before you go to Walmart or Amazon always check savers first for ur household needs.
Needed a certain size table/desk for using my laptop, comfortably. Store was well organized. Very neat also. I found what I needed immediately. The price was more than fair, and after the discount , (30% senior citizens discount on Tuesday), it was remarkable. Check the place out.
Staff is nice enough and the selection is pretty good. Be forewarned that there are no dressing rooms and no returns, only exchanges. I thought the prices were a bit high as well.
As far as resale stores go, it's fairly clean and well taken care of. Some of the staff could be a little more helpful and nicer to the customers. Often times you'll end up waiting in line a bit long. But overall, you can find a lot of things here, the floors are clean, and things are pretty tidy.
Worth a good look. Today’s clothes do not fit right and they over charge for them. Second hand stores are a great place to find things that were quality made that no longer are still led new.
Hands down the most amazing thrift store I've ever shopped. It's the cleanest, most organized store I've seen and one of the largest. Although the prices are about 4x higher than I'm used to for clothes, the quality and variety are out of this world. The mix is about 50% Wal-mart/Target clothes and 50% designer clothes. Designer clothes go from the run of the mill Macy's finds to top of the line chi chi designers. Of my many, many purchases in just 1 week of shopping the store, about 25% of the items have original tags still attached. Dresses go as high as 15$ per, but they do coupons based on donations and run specials and sales regularly. As an anecdote, I found a dress I loved for 15$, bought it for 10$ (coupon), and still marvel at the deal. The dress has original tags and is from a high end designer. The jewelry department rivals any department store in volume and offers both costume and some fine jewelry. It's just a pleasure to shop, but be prepared to spend the time to properly look over the store.
If that book lady doesn't stop following me around i will be contacting a lawyer. I have never stolen anything in my life but i feel like a hardened criminal when i walk in there. I enjoy shopping here and have found plenty of good deals.
Prices vary, but are still way less than retail. Employees could careless if you exist, but are still cordial when you’re at the counters. Not by any means clean or organized, but lately always stocked with all the things. Also, the taller, thin, blonde lady at the front is super sweet and should get a raise. Just sayin.
They have a great selection. One of the cashiers at the Manchester location was coughing and her mask was half way on. I was so scared I washed the clothes right away but I am worried for other customers. Please have her go home with pay. She is probably still working sick because she won't be payed otherwise.
I was all organized! Lots of clothes, and lots of nick knacks, candle holders, home decor, gadgets, utensils etc. I was greeted by man who worked there, he was very kind. The store was clean.
This store has a large stock and senior prices on Tuesday are 30% off! That's if your 55 y/o and up. Staff if really pleasant too.
I love Savers, but my wife hates it. The way I see it, the less I can spend on my jeans the more she can spend on her new clothes and shoes.... wait! I'm getting the short end of the stick! On a serious note, I have purchased some cheap toys for my kids which is nice because they destroy everything they touch.
Mildly overpriced on some clothing. Good selection. Excellent book section.
Savers has an amazing inventory and is always changing and adding more. Great prices on great stuff. If you are looking for housewares, clothing, books, or small furniture this is the place. Not as good for electronics or large furniture.
Always enjoy shopping here! You have to go several times to really get your experience here. Sometimes I get some great finds, other days, just a thing or two. Take advantage of the percent off coupon when you donate your unwanted items. They have excellent prices for someone with the tag still on it stuff! From clothes to books and toys to curtains and nick-nacs your granddad and gramma had. The parking lot can be a bit ugly when they are busy, and could use a sweep.
They have a variety of clothes! I love that part of their business model is based off of the three R's: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle! Corporate responsibility means a lot to me 😁 …
Savers is hit or miss. It was better in times past but you can still find some decent things here. I have donated quite a lot of items here and also purchased a lot here so I hope I'm supporting a good cause. Sometimes it can be noisy and messy and unpleasant and you end up finding nothing good while other times it is chock-full of magic waiting to be found.
1.Good prices.
You will find great bargains everything from A-Z. Many items are brand name clothes or handbags, shoes etc. (Tuesday is Seniors discount day) You can also bring item's for the drop off center.
It’s a basic thrift store with a good amount of stuff. Not much else to say.
If electronics don't work, they only give you 24 hours to bring them back, but there are some incredible bargains to be had. DVDs and BluRays are far too expensive although not as bad as Goodwill. I would definitely recommend people shop at Savers.
I can't say enough good things about the store great people good stuff at a cheap price I just love this store
Love going there, I can always find name brands for really low prices, you have to spend some time looking but it's so worth it,
A lot of good stuff sometimes can be pricey though
I always find something to buy at Savers!! Good books or attractive picture frames that would cost a lot more in another store. Fun to poke around b
Always find good and cheap stuff here but you can't try on pants anymore ...no dressing rooms
Only self checkout, I refuse to shop at self only checkout. They helped me, needless to say that's the last time I go there.
Love shopping here for the littles because clothes today are so expensive and all they do is ruin and outgrow them anyhow.. Great cheap prices for quality used clothing and other items.. I'm a happy customer. ;)
First visit left me never wanting to return. There was an awful smell in there. My kids convinced me to return and that visit was okay. Definitely know the clothes are used but decent
Great Greater and bought two used aluminum bats to use at the batting cages which don't supply bats due to pandemic.
Great second clothes from head to toe ,Baby stuff, furniture, printers, toys. I nvr would have shopped here until seeing all the brand names still in mint condition. Great for 8 yr old boys who destroy every piece of clothing he gets..
It's always so organized and clean there. Prices are reasonable for donated items. I do notice that I usually have to stand in line for a while but I'm ok with that.
Great prices. Almost all of the clothes are in good shape. I have bought a lot with tags. The selection is very good and the store is kept pretty clean. Clothes are organized well.
Some stuff was a little expensive. But they did have some nice stuff. And employees were helpful.
Great thrift store can find anything and everything !
buy most everything for my home here, wish they would open the bathrooms
One of my favorite places to shop! I find a lot of great items, which I think are donated. Great prices and the employees are helpful and courteous.
I love this store. Always find very nice shoes for great prices. I've found a couple pairs of mint condition Nike's, Jordan's and DC's. I swear, this store is like an addction!
Like everything else prices for used items not reasonable anymore.
Similar to good will, good selection and prices, although as usual with these kinds of places the selection of women's stuff was more extensive than the men's section. My wife and two girls loved the place.
A local thrift store. There is all sorts of things. The community is blessed to have it. It supports the local community and economy. It's also a stepping stone to help people get back on their feet.
Books buy 4 get 1 free. Buncha stuff fairly cheap, never know what you'll find, selection varies constantly.
I utilize taking my donations there and using their punch card rewards. When I get a full card I treat myself to a bunch of clothes and feel good about getting rid of the stuff I don't use anymore.
A new experience with new items each visit. Found many great and sometimes hard to find items. Definitely my favorite thrift shop and favorite donation station.
I love thrifting, always great finds and great prices. Savers is my favorite thrift shop.
Bought an almost new ironing board with cover all in good condition priced at $4.99, store very clean and organized.
Great selection of books in great condition!
I used to be obsessed with Savers. Over time the prices began to climb. For a mostly second hand donated good stores there prices are not so good. I can go to the mall and spend less
Great prices, clean, so much product virtually anything you could need or want. Highly recommend
Clothes are beautiful however games are always missing pieces and electronics don’t work
I've been to the Savers in Portsmouth, Nashua, and now Manchester. I usually find something, a Carhartt belt, a pashmina shawl. Today I found a denim skirt that will go with the silk shirt I found two months ago.
This is my favourite place to shop You never know what you're gonna find it's always a great deal !!
Stock differs daily due to donations, but the selection has been light for a while.
Store is in good shape. Neat and organized. Plenty of parking. Friendly counter help. Decent selection of products.
Clothing options are pretty decent and prices are very reasonable .
Pleasant staff. They move merchandise quickly. Very clean.
This place blew me away. Its the best thrift shop I've ever been in. Huge selection, clean and organized.
I like this place. It's a second hand store. A lot of nice things and clothes.
Savers rock! Look at my new jewelry! I have Red Sox & Peace sign on my fav color!
It is an ok place I mean they have what people want just not what they want!!!
I got the wool coat I was searching for there, top quality according to a kind elderly gentleman who was also shopping there!
The Savers in Manchester has a lot more clothing than the Nashua store.
With that being said, Nashua has more furniture, Jewelry, housewares CHEAP.
If you have a waist between 32 to 36 and wear a medium to large for shirts you will have kicka** collection of GOOD clothes for under $100.00
Great place to donate or pick up something new. Reasonably clean store. Bathroom is a bit trashy no matter the time of day.
Not the best selection, have to thoroughly check items for damage. Big size store just wish they would maintain it better.
It's ok as far as thrift stores go. A little priceier than Goodwill but a larger selection. Worth going to if you like thrift I guess.
I live a bargain! Clean, great prices
I like shops like these. I mostly look for books and found a few.
Good place to go to get things you need for a few dollars.
Found my Halloween costume so quick.
Awsome prices
Very organized alittle pricie for used donated items clothes more reasonable will return
Great selection, a little pricy but merchandise of higher quality than other thrift shops
Love this place. I buy all my work pants here, can't beat it, especially what I do for work they're ruined in a week anyway
Not too crazy about this savers. Kind of run down and dirty. The merchandise is definitely low end. Nashua is MUCH better.
They should have a spare bed out back that my wife can sleep in cause she is there so often..... good prices, helpful staff
They put new items out all the time. There is always something for somebody there. Some of the process go back into the community other than the jobs they have created.
This Sears is okay. The prices are meh. I would come here is I were looking for power tools and maybe a home appliance.
Good selection of clothes and items. More pricey than say the salvation army or goodwill but worth it.
Awsome Tuesday deals. Great customer service. Managers are exceptional to there customers.
A lot of good decent clothes and even better deals have been found here
Very friendly and helpful!😃 …
What you'd expect from a savers/secondhand shop, a large selection and friendly staff.
I shant say it is Earthy enough. Though one might find it is rather refreshing to browse with commoners. Oh, here... Higbert. Lol
We love shopping at Savers! Great selection and prices.
Bought 7 tees for 6.98 for my homeless Brother feeling good an for him stuff #Mentol84 thanks Savers saved him good.
I always hit jackpot here....they have a great selection of gently used items, including shoes.
Excellent thrifting experience!
Not the worst thrift shop I've visited, but it's a bit disorganized. They have a huge selection of clothes, however.
Tuesdays are bargain days at Savers. 30% off is such a deal!
Great place to go for thrift store items. Wish we had something like this in California.
Excellent savings. Needed assist. Manager assisted without delay or hesitation.
Lots of great deals on quality clothes. Very clean and well kept.
Friendly service and smiles all during the frenzy of a 50 percent sale. I found amazing deals.
Great bargains if you like thrift shopping. Clean and well organized.
Love the prices here. When they have sales we drive 2 hours to go for our family of six.
Great store ' very well organized with a huge inventory.
Good variety of sizes in clothing and footwear. The store is clean and the staff is helpful.
Made a charitable contribution. Good to know that the Epilepsy Foundation is the recipient.
Love it!!! Best deals around never know what you will find!
Love this place for themed parties like Halloween and ugly sweater! They help bring out my creative side!
This store has a lots of good stuffs and prices are ok
Always new stuff, good place to find old beanie babies.
Love this place...just wish they would STOP JACKING THE PRICES UP just because it's name brand! BS!
As usual, I had great luck finding exactly what I wanted and the price was incredible.
Definitely a great place to get some shopping done.. Everyone should go there. 😀 …
Great place to shop. Can find anything you may want/need
They're always reasonable price with their clothes and their household goods
Love it here. Special days have sale prices like 50% off
It's a second hand store, but has some great deals!
Wish I could give 4.5. Experience was great, but seriously... charging for bags?
Got to Love shopping and searching for treasures, prices are good and tons of items to pick from. Worth the search.
All workers are friendly and courteous. Enjoyable visit will return ....ty
❤️💕 …
Great fashions, plenty of toys and stereo equipment for circuit bending. What more could you need?
It's a good place to spend your time looking for antique items
I didn't really find what i was looking for, that just today. Usually i find something. It wasn't real busy which was awesome.
Just bought a real nice winter coat, for 6.49 love it
Very clean, people that work there are nice. The pricing seems to be somewhat arbitrary.
Great! Tuesday senior discount 30%!!!
A bit overpriced for a thrift store, but it has a great selection and lots of cute finds!
Nice stuff but a bit pricey for a thrift store..
If you donate you get a coupon card. Even more savings!
Not as good of a selection as I'm used to in the Plaistow store. Also more expensive.
Pretty busy no employee's on the floor to help out customers other than that good place to save $ on decent clothes
Good for finding hand-me-down items at low prices.
Live it
Prices marked up way to much on brand name clothing, especially if they can't be returned for a refund.
Great place cashier was awesome got lots of stuff
Can find some great deals if you're willing to search
They were very organized and handled the big crowds wonderfully...
Well-organized, but Goodwill usually has better stuff.
Large store with lots of selection. Some clothing is a little on the pricey side for thrift shopping. Store is clean and plenty of parking
Fast drop off of stuff I no longer needed.
Its got that old thrift store smell. Nice variety of stuff
Great selections...And a fabric department....Who could ask for more?
Staff in front isn't very friendly. Place isn't the same as it used to be. Prices have gone up a lot
Quick drop off after selling house, they excepted 90 percent of what I brought
Good mix of clothes and things but never any good finds
Some of the prices seemed a bit high compared to some thrift shops.
No complaints other than the company "frowns upon" volunteerism.
Love the store staff has always.be pleasant to me
Good selection of new and used clothes, household goods, DVDs, books
You can get some good deals but a bit overpriced in general
My experience with savers was awesome I couldn't be happier.
Great selection, well organized and cheap prices
I always find the best stuff !!! This is my new "go to place"
Impressive thrift store. Well organized and clean.
I saved a great lot with shoes for the winter here.
The prices have gone up but they do have things for everyone
Got two pair of boots on sale for half off... Total for both pair: $6!!!
Clean. Variety of options. Some prices on home goods were not great.
Hit or miss on selection and pricing but when you get a hit it can be a great one!
Great used stuff!! Good prices too.
I like savers. Good deals and large selection at the Manchester location.
I found it rather high priced compared to the Nashua store. Unkept store.
Best place to buy kids toys, games, and puzzles
Large selection. Clean, bright, and we'll organized.
Everything is easy to find, staff is helpful.
I always find something in great condition for a great value.
Great stuff and prices all sizes
It is a place that you can buy and on good items
