I went there today, and I have to say, this is my new favorite spot. Cute clothes, and I got like 40$ worth of stuff for less than half the price. Staff is super friendly, shout out to Sho for being so sweet to me while checking out!

I love Plato's Closet and we shop at the Portsmouth location regularly, but happened to be in Manchester and saw the store. I learned that this location is owned by the same franchisee. I have to say though, they are two very different experiences. Unfortunately, we were unable to find any items from our favorite brand which typically is found in abundance at the Portsmouth location. We were there on a late Sunday afternoon and it was insanely crowded like there was some super secret sale happening that we didn't know about. The clothing items on the whole (with the exception of the new with tags items) were in much shabbier, worn, and stained condition. The store had a bit of a musty smell as well with hints of cigarette smoke. Although, I can't be sure if it was the store or other customers we had to wade through. The rows of racks in the women's section were narrow and 2 people had to pass eachother sideways or else brush up on eachother. I also can find clothing on the Shein website (which is certainly not a high end or luxury brand and famous for being made out of cheap materials) cheaper than the well used Shein items on their racks. We were very disappointed. I am only giving a 3-star rating because I love the idea behind Plato's Closet for those of us who want to wear name brands but are on a tight budget. The rating is also based on the fact that the same franchisee owns the Portsmouth location and is much better kept.

Good selection for younger women, not so stocked for men. Prices aren't as competitive as I thought they'd be. My daughter found two shirts she liked but no pants.

This place is awesome! I usually go to Savers, but this is even better! So many discounted clothes. I don't have to spend hundreds of dollars at the mall at my favorite stores. They sell so many cute clothes. Even high-end brands like Brandy Meville, Abercombie, Aeropostale, American Eagle, and Hollister.

I always find gems here when I have the time to poke around! Designer handbags are a favorite. I’ve gotten Tory Burch, Coach, Longchamp and MCM here. Be sure to call ahead to see what they’re taking, sometimes my stuff is out of their demographic, but they take a lot of trendy stuff for teens and 20’s in good condition! Great concept!

I've been wanting to go check this store out for awhile now. So happy I did. I got 3 Victoria secret sweaters,2 shirts, and a pair of sweats for 50 bucks. Easily each sweater would cost 50 at the store. I love my new tops. I will be telling my friends and family to go check the store out!

We have been here a few times and have found great deals each time. My wife got a PINK rain coat for $25, I found a Columbia shell for $30 and we got a few pairs of quality jeans for our teenagers. The store is clean, organized and they have a nice men's section out back. You can sell them quality, name brand clothes, which we have not done as we donate our used items. But it's nice to save money when buying items. I highly recommend this store!

I have been to multiple locations across a few states and I just have to say...this locations staff is BY FAR the best I've seen. Everyone was SO sweet. Great experience from start to finish. I will most definitely be back. I'm not usually one to be writing reviews but these ladies deserve some recognition!

This is a good consignment shop some of the prices are overpriced though but if you're looking for a nice purse they have a lot of name brands including Michael kors coach also guess . If you're trying to get a business suit this is not a place to go the variety is mostly for younger adults they also have sportswear and shoes etc

You can almost always find something to purchase because there is a lot of inventory. The men’s section has improved. What I don’t love is the price gauging for brands like Lululemon or athleta. There is old Lululemon tanks or leggings from 6-8 years ago, still priced at $20-25. Not even eBay can get that price. I believe they should review prices on items based on how old it is and what the condition is not solely on the name brand.

Wow! What a selection! Bit crowded, but it was a Saturday, and hey, I’m going back for sure. Great brands, current styles, clean and well organized. Update: did go back (Tues) and brought some things - got some cash, which I Promptly spent. Excellent service and style advice from ‘Matthew’. Plato’s closet makes me happy!

This place is AMAZING!!! The clothes are so cute the people are so nice and welcoming. We need more shops like this. There selection is HUGE, one of the biggest second hand shops I've seen. Also can we talk about how Affordable everything is! Super cute dress $8 stunning shoes $10 leggings $5 and all in so many sizes! I can not wait till they actually open to sell I will definitely be buying half the store!

I think you can have two entirely different experiences depending on if you are selling clothing or buying it. The service here seems to be fair and friendly overall. I have no complaints. They can be a bit picky in the clothing they choose to keep from what you bring in. If you fashion sense is trendy and "cheap" then you will easily be able to sell your clothing here. They are not interested in suits or other classier items though.

You'd never know clothes are second hand. Quality, quality clothing. Their biggest downfall is lack of size range. In my honest opinion they are completely opposed to accepting sizes beyond an XL. I'm talking clean, fashionable clothing with tags. I loved it at first but, for anyone who is a bigger size that enjoys quality clothes at a discount ( because who doesn't) I stopped shopping there. Plato's has such great potential and in order to remain viable, should be open to expanding their size selections.

All I have seen is that this owner has been nothing but nice to these girls (workers). Hand written cards thanking them for their work & efforts. (Especially through Covid) Gift cards included, whether it be Dunkins or a store g.c. to support their shopping habits (because there's so many good things to choose from). Covid had really challenged small businesses this year, I hope that Plato's finds it's way in the end.

I know about Plato's Closet from when i was stationed in other states while on active duty in the military... Im so ecstatic to find out this had opened here. Plato's Closet is awesome all the way around! I have purchased & sold many items there and have nothing negative to say. One minor detail that may aggitate inpatient people is that it does take them time to process items you're selling. They dont just make up an amout to pay you, it takes time for them to research that item and then based on its condition, what season its from (how old), & their inventory ( they're probably not going to purchase a med. Calvin Kline top that's not in high-demand, if they are already trying to sell 10 identical ones they already have), that's how they'll determine how much to offer you. I was always extremely pleased with what they paid for my items. With how the determine pricing explained... Now you can understand that if there are 3 or 4 people who are also selling items ( or even just 1 or 2 people with a lot of stuff) its going to take them awhile to get to your stuff. I Always found that any waiting I did have to do was not excessive & I was able to leave, grab a coffee from Starbucks, & also shop. I'll update my review as soon as i get to this particular store.

I love the thrift store prices,great selection,and the best part is,name brand items like American eagle and Hollister for cheap! Got 4 pairs of American eagle jeans and a Wilson leather jacket for 80 bucks last week.

they have a good selection with good prices but i have noticed some things with stains and rips in the store, so check before you buy. i brought in two trash bags worth of stuff and they took one. i got $93 which was good enough for me.
