Reviews of Goodwill Outlet Store
All the fun and excitement of dumpster diving, but with a timer and competition involved! If this game show of a store sounds like your idea of a good time, then you'll fit right in with the madness. Blue bins of as-is cast-off items from other Goodwills are carted in on the hour, and all shoppers are forced to the side walls while the bins are swapped out, and then, like dogs at the starting mark, people will swarm the floor at the given signal and rabidly sift through the items, some of which may be the perfect find, or might be broken garbage. Gloves and hand sanitizer come highly recommended for sorting through everything, which may or may not be infested with God-knows-what. Everything is sold by the pound, which is fantastic for thrifty, eagle-eyed shoppers looking to cheaply outfit their home or flip on an internet market for a quick few bucks. Recommended spot if you enjoy shopping and/or consumerism spectacle.
First time making it to the bins and it was worth it! If you like fast paced scavenger hunts this is the place. Rules are not clearly posted so that made me anxious but staff was very nice
Was nicely run operation. The customers are the problem. My baby is in his stroller and this nasty chip on their shoulder (#censored#)! Just blasts into him doesn't say sorry, doesn't even glance at him.. which says deliberate to me. You can be looking through an area right in front of you and you get nudged out or reached over. People grab stuff from the very pile you are looking through. Nobody has any manners. Everyone acts like what you see on the prision yard on one of those lock up raw episodes. Nobody seems to afford anyone any respect and they act like you are the problem when you are in the way looking through an area you have been working on. There is a lot of people who will basically roll onto or runover you when you are searching a small area, this is by side stepping. Furthermore people come in and load up multiple carts and push them into the outer sphere of the actual bins, around the perimeter and this makes it impossible to get through the outside area, which is likely a fire violation- making it similar to squeezing by someone on an airplane. These people that act abominable and like they have the right to be like this to anyone or that you owe them something, likely won't get through life finding much success because if you can't uphold a level of decorum and amiable cohesion to complete strangers; that also includes respect and using polite words -well we my as well be sitting on a rock grunting and flinging poo and. Which when I was in there it struck me we aren't too far off from that.
The staff was wonderful and efficient. Beautifully maintained and pleasant. I felt bad that they had to deal with people that act entitled, deliberately disrespectful, and like devolved ancestors of what was once a brilliant, polite, dignified and innovative society.. Now it is zero self awareness and making a mess and leaving it for others to obstacle and clean. Also belligerent and chip like attit8des were dealt with in such a gracious and classy manner.. good prices.. not a place you would want to go alone area is a little rough.
Reading through the reviews let me point out a couple things.
1) Its a thrift store, so somethings are going to be junk. They cant control what people donate! Sometimes you might not find anything and the next time you might find everything your looking for!
2) The staff that I ran into were all very nice!
3) Just moved to Indy from North Dakota, had never been to a place like this. The experience was great and I cant wait to come back!
The FIND of a lifetime! I got a BRAND NEW couch for $14.99! And Troy...one of the very hard working employees was MORE than helpful. Wouldn't even except a tip. Good man! Good store! Goodwill!!
Not as many bins out as they used to have. Lots of kids bikes at good prices. Employees could be nicer...
Fail load time, for the amount of material they stuff into the trailer. Friendly folks. Lot can be a little tricky, but manageable.
I have a good friend named Troy that works there because he took care of my daughter Chevy when she passed out on me...
This is my job. Like working here, it's fun and cool. Some people go crazy over donated stuff, it's wild to watch. Some people come in EVERY day, sometimes more than one time a day. Weird stuff. DEDICATION. Let me tell you. Come check us out
Nice place, great customer services..👍🏾 …
Clean but they made everyone leave at 630 when they are open until 7
It's was very fast paced but also very interesting to say the least.
Nice place, found some good and useful things there.
I love this store is my favorite.
It has good prices and inventory is rotated every hour I think and is in big blue bins the only downside is that when looking through a bin other people are as well but some people don't know simple respect to give another some space
Lots of bins filled with rags and miscellaneous cast offs of modern America. Several goodwill denizens hanging around waiting on fresh bins to be wheeled out. One guy had two shopping carts filled with records!
Lots of everything! Bring gloves, as everything is mixed together in big bins. A place you could lose track of time!
You will come across people from all backgrounds and all walks of life here. Share kindness. Understand that not everyone comes here for the same reasons. My mom is in the ICU with complications from COVID, and this is the one place I can come, throw my headphones on, and just be. Staff is nice and has everyone's safety in mind.
You need gloves and a few hours to enjoy this place. Its quite noisy during busy times and the first Saturday of the month is always chaotic. You can find cheap cheap furniture, rugs, curtains, and blankets. Baskets, bins, laundry hamper etc. They charge by the pound so if you get heavy items like toys, metal things(tools, organizers, small kitchen stuff, etc) outside items(decor etc) it can get expensive quick. They price the big furniture separately. They also always have a few bins of shoes.
I love the outlet, there are some new staff that are very friendly. The people that shop there for the most part are nice. There are some who are rude and need deodarant...and need to stop pushing there way among others that are also shopping. I doubt it will change, but I just try to steer clear of those folks. There is plenty for everyone and it seems never-ending...bottom line we are recycling..Good luck people and enjoy your finds....God bless.❤
Such an awesome experience sifting through bins trying to get the best deal!
Great option for quality clothes and other item. So what it's kids running and whatever the other comments are. The kids are excited to be around so much variety and they may actually be able to go home with something, where as at target, they may not be able to get anything because the prices are higher and we are on a budget. I love living in American and I will continue to shop here, save money on clothing, pots, books and furniture. Therefore, one day we won't need to shop here because we will have saved so much money. But we will still shop here because once you have more money, you can only keep it if you don't spend it :-)
Not what I expected at all. All the items are in bins and people come in and toss stuff around until they find something or go to the next bin. I guess I'm used to the small town Goodwill that takes time to put most clothes on hangers and actually separates kitchen ware from pots and pans and games from books and toys. Its interesting how it all works but the locals know how to work with it.
Nice place to shop.i had a good experience
I go probably 2-3 times a week.
I spend 2-4 hours when I go. There was a HUGE argument
Because Caroline from Africa causes trouble. She NEVER waits for all the bins to be changed. Rude, grabs from you as she has done from me before. She that day had "6" carts lined up covered, most were empty, & sitting on chair that are in the isle! She screamed at another person who is buying stuff that she put her card there. The manager got involved but it didn't kick her out. Something needs to be done about her.
You can buy any kind of junk there just as long as you grab it first then they weigh it and you pay by the pound. Insane. I took off a star because there was water standing in the bins. Clothes were wet. Heavier. Cost more. Mold?
This isn't your normal Goodwill. The outlet is a different breed. They have your typical cabinet with the namebrand better condition stuff and a furniture section but everything else comes out in big blue bins you sort and sift through yourself. There always a ton of people there looking for a good deal. This last time I went I got a mint condition pelican brand hardcase, about a 20x24 or so with the pluck foam still intact with just some light dirt on the outside for <3 bucks or so. They weigh your cart and your charged per pound. You want to fill your cart with DVDs, clothes, etc it's all weighed at the checkout.
Love goodwill outlets. All kinds of vintage and modern treasures to be found. This one is primarily garbage though. Prefer the one on Franklin
We really like the Good Will Outlet stores. We've driven to all we can find, even as far away as Nashville, Tenn.
As long as the staff is respectful, and the place is clean, we will keep coming back.
If you look hard enough you can find some good things like christmas lights or used brand name clothing. It's actually a good place to get reusable bags for very cheap since people just leave them with their donations and they sell by weight. I think you can haggle on the price of storage containers too. I would definitely bring hand sanitizer if you go here though.
Great place to get clothes for the family and its fun seeing what goodies you can stumble upon! Got some great deals. It can be loud, and other customers need to realize its not a daycare...
They are on it every hour of changing bins out. Very impressed. Kind lady when I checked out.
I've been going to this spot for years. You'll find the best and worst of Goodwill customers AND employees at this location. In line with that, you'll also find anything in the bins from new with tags Ralph Lauren clothing to poopy diapers. Also beware of hidden broken glass in the bins...
The thrill is real... you never know what you will find. The prices are reasonable, the staff is good. Hit or miss sometimes but it’s nice
I love going to the goodwill outlet cause you can find so much stuff to decorate for the holidays
Freaking love it here.. just bring gloves, and a face mask, and hand sanitizer, and a spare pair of nostrils. B/c OMG it's so dirty going thru the bins..
I went late in the day which meant it wasn't so crowded but I found tons of stuff I was looking for. It's actually the nicest if all the outlets in and around Indy.
Always find anything I need here at this Goodwill. You never know what you will find there. The employees are super nice!!
Great staff. Some of the regular people who Shop there are ride. Just funny grown people fighting over donations like kids fighting over candy
Simple . Fun
I like the place but cant stand the kids running around and some people are pretty rude. The place is clean all things considered.
Loved my experience here. Bought a new shower curtain, duvet new in bag and kindle cover for$20!
Love it you can find great deals
Always a blast shopping at Goodwill Outlet. Each bin is full of surprises. Bring a pair of puncture proof gloves with you
I love to go to the outlet everything is by the pound. You have to dig through bins. You find some nice stuff though.
Owning a haunted house attraction this is a must stop anytime we can get there. Most things you buy by the pound.
The young man named Thomas was so helpful, friendly and the sweetest. Everyone that works there is always super friendly and helpful.
It's great buying by the pound cause you can find some items that are rare and expensive for for just a few dollars
I love this store i just wish people werent so pushy. The employees are awesome , but the customers need a little work.
I liked the prices but I didn't like digging through bins it made me feel like I was dumpster diving.
This is a clean store.
Great deals if you're willing to look! Bring gloves if you don't like unwashed items/
It was an awesome exsperiance
Could be better. Out of the three Goodwill Outlets in Indiana this one is where you would go for a large quantity of stuff. Quantity over Quality.
I love the way it works brand name at lb prices its a good deal I will continue to go...
I prefer this location over the shadeland outlet. Better selection, better organization, and much, much cleaner.
Place is Dirty and people are rude (customers) the employees are usually pretty nice.
Employees were rude but you can find goods if you dig
Free for all when the bins come out good stuff really inexpensive
Love going never know what you will find. Always wear gloves!
Goodwill outlet where you pay by the pound. A lot of fun to dig through troughs and find gems. Bring gloves
There are beautiful things but busy at times of discount
This Goodwill Outlet always seems to have something I can use and is in great condition...fun for the thrill of the find
Don't bring children! Very hectic.
Wow, I have never seen a goodwill like this one. It is really neat. Will have to come back.

I enjoy going here, never have any problems with employees!!
(Translation) It is a place where you can find everything, some good things, others not so good, but you just have to come with a lot of patience. I don't like Saturdays, there are too many people and it is much more relaxed during the week. If you like second-hand things, I recommend it 🙂🙂
