Seen reviews for this place as a seller which there were no positive ones but coming from a buyer....my son liked it alot spent 45mins shopping and walked out with 12 pieces for under $125. Easily visible location on corner of Beretania & Piikoi Street those who may have remembered where Occidental Insurance was located. Nice amount of parking stalls available. Pretty big store and very well organized with labels on sizes really was impressed how easy it was to find items. Though more inventory for women/girls there was a good selection for men/boys and how they display footwear it was just a unique way of maximizing space and displaying if items. Dressing rooms were nice big size. Atmosphere was a trendy look and sound. Overall good shopping experience at a great price!

Great experience. I was a little hesitant to take items in after reading some of the reviews, but glad I did. Bob, the manager was very nice and I found some awesome items to purchase while waiting for my items to be reviewed. A few things to be mindful of: they have very reasonably priced clothing, therefore the payout to items you bring in is not going to be high. Also, they seemed more interested in my mall brand items, than my more luxury items.Out of the 40 items I came in with, they accepted 11. I will definitely go back as a seller and a shopper in the future.

This is my #1 place to shop !!! Most the bad reviews are just them upset they don't buy their clothes or if they do it's dirt cheap which they have to for them to make a profit and for us to still be able to afford them. They don't buy most my things so those I donate to organizations. Another note dressing rooms are still closed due to Covid so you have to try it over your clothes or buy it first, try on at home and then return if they don't fit , then you will get store credit once you return the items I thought this was an important thing to mention .

Amazing place to get clothes. I've been coming to Plato's for 13 years now. From NY to FL to HI. They only sell designer items and what was sold for 80 bucks or more is now 16 dollars. Or less. I can gaurentee that anyone that shops there will be back again and again...

Amazing curated thrift and consignment store for women’s clothes. My shopping haul included new Outdoor Voices tights, a new swim top (still with tags!) and an aloha bag. The prices were so cheap - I couldn’t believe you could buy brand name tights for $5! Lots of good quality labels and the staff are really sweet. I saw some negative reviews from people upset that the store wasn’t buying their stuff. Well, that’s why the store is so good - it’s got curated, quality items. Really enjoyed shopping here!

A lot of the clothing is really trendy stuff, crop tops, etc. Much more selection for really small sizes. I was able to find myself a couple reasonably priced pairs of cute pants. Expect a long wait for the fitting rooms, definitely no sense of urgency from the staff.

Honestly very surprised that this place has so many negative reviews. My coworker and I went here because she’s been here before as I moved from the mainland, needing a new place to thrift shop, wasn’t going to buy anything and I came out with clothes that were for me. I’m definitely coming back here and shop again and sell my clothes!

Buying perspective: From a buying perspective, would’ve given this a 4. Plato’s has really cute affordable options. The store is clean and the fitting rooms are available. I didn’t give it 5 stars because of the return policy. You only get store credit for the returns, so careful what you buy. Selling perspective: I would’ve given this a 2. I brought in a dress and a skirt from Boohoo. One still has the tag on it and the other one is still in new condition. But they rejected both items because “style is not in stores recently”. last I checked, boohoo is in style at Plato’s and I shopped around and noticed they had similar styles on their racks. I’m gonna try another consignment store in the area and see what happens. Will update!

I like this store and its employees. It’s organized and you will find cute stuff at a very reasonable price. As far as selling, obviously I will go to Offer Up or Poshmark if I really want to make an earning on something. If I don’t mind just getting a few bucks in return I will sell here. I am happy that people will be able to buy at an affordable rate. I definitely don’t leave feeling angry and I hope sellers treat employees with respect and adjust their expectations.

Great thrift store! So much trendy clothing options, wish there was more options for men. Guys, they are not obligated to buy your clothes, stop complaining wtf… Maybe stop buying fast fashion?!

After reading the reviews, I did not want to come here. But I figured I would see for myself. When I walked into the door, I was greeted by a smiling staff. They were professional, helpful, and quick. They gave fair prices for items and explained why they would not buy certain items. The store was clean and had a variety of selection. Totally will come back. Happy I went to see Platos Closet for myself, online reviews aren't always the most helpful ;)

This place is a gem if you're looking for quality, secondhand clothing and accessories. I frequent here because my wallet and my values agree that paying less while recycling is a good idea. Sometimes, I'll trade in clothes and use the money to buy "new" ones. They are picky about quality and brand names but that's what makes shopping here so nice! I love the fact that the store is very organized by style, color, and of course size. Customer service is alright, maybe more smiles? There can be some improvement on that front... I guess it all depends on who's working.

Workers are very polite. Leave all personal bags at the front. No bags what so ever allowed in dressing rooms. Was a 30 min wait to go threw my clothes. Not bad considering there were 2 others before me. I believe its $5 per item if they think they can resell it. They will return the remaining and tell you the styles you brought it are out of style. Theres about 7 marked stalls. Not responsible for any damages to your car.

This place always has. cool finds at good prices. The staff is nice and friendly too. Any bad reviews are coming from sellers with clothes that aren't good enough for their vetting process. I'm happy they are so selective.

Relatively big place but it look small from the outside. Their inventory seemed like it was in good order. Like I can find the smalls where they should be. The clothing racks aren't overstuffed so I can go from hanger to hanger. I really would love to go back again and see what they have. The prices are great too! They have nice brands as well like Guess, Banana Republic, etc. There is parking available in front of the store.

Very friendly staff and store is much bigger than it looks from the outside! I understand being very selective with items based on season and what inventory sells. However, I've been working in the stores that they are reselling for years and find it interesting that the items they won't purchase are on the racks in different sizes or items in their inventory are several years older than what currently is stocked in the regular stores. Not worth selling but can find some good buys!

Cute store, friendly staff. Easy way to earn small cash or have a cheap shopping trip when you are trying to save money. Wouldn’t recommend selling very hi-end things here because you will only get back a small percentage back, but selling here also comes in handy when you want a quick way to get rid of your simple/trendier clothes that you don’t want and make something instead of just donating. Just drop, shop, and go.

I like shopping here but don’t bother selling your clothes. I brought in a big bag of clothes and a bag of purses and they only wanted one purse out of everything and only offered me $3. They “looked” through my clothes super quickly and it looked exactly the same as it did when i brought it like they didn't even bother.

For a thrift place Yes come here. Organized by size too. You can sell your clothes, purses, sunglasses, wallets, makeup bags, pouches, and shoes. They accept what's in style. If you bring in something brand new with the tag on as well they buy it from you 70% off the retail price. They have fitting rooms too. They sell mens and women's clothes. They should put a febreeze automatic spray or something it has a smell.

I like shopping here. They are soo much more organized than savers. They have dressy and casual. Mens and womens clothing. Very clean. My only complaint is having to wait in line to get someone to open a dressing room. Othen than that great concept and store.
