I love this place. The proprietor was incredibly friendly and helpful. He spoke to my 6 month old and filled my husband and me in on what he's doing to get the place up and running how he wants. And of course there were some real treasures in his store. I found a lovely pillbox hat from the 60s and my husband found a signed copy of a Gladiator VHS. We tried to go back a couple weeks ago but even though the hours were listed as Open, the door was locked and the lights were off. That won't deter us, though. We'll definitely try again!

My fiance and I were in GR for a wedding and decided to stop by Captain Bizzaro's to kill some time, and boy are we glad we did. What a gem this place is. Had a great time chatting with the owner, and walked out with some vintage Star Wars action figures. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in GR. Thanks Tim!

When you enter your greeted with a handshake and a smile here. Super customer service. Expect to be ask ever so often if your finding everything you need. That's how Tim runs his shop. They have everything from books, toys, household stuff and cloths to my favorite, vinyl records. A little of everything. Good prices on all of the items. They take cash or PayPal. Parking can be a bit tricky but well worth the effort. Come in from the west. It easier to park on the road that way pointing east. What a fun shop and well worth the time to stop in and say HI.

This is an absolutely AWESOME local business. Bizzaro sums it up, but in a good way. They have everything from the mainstream to the strange and unusual. It is a resale shop, but the merchandise is clean and in tip top shape. They even have eight track tapes. Talk about a bizzaro blast from the past!!! The staff is very friendly and helpful. I absolotely love supporting local businesses like this. When in Grand Rapids make sure you check out Captain Bizzaro. You are guaranteed to walk out with a treasure of some kind.

This is the second posting on the Captain's store. As stated, great customer service. Always friendly and ready to make a deal. This is one of the older Michigan gems on the West side of Grand Rapids. In the store you will find a little of everything. That's the fun of it. You just don't know what you will find or what you may find you want or need. Just stop in and your see for yourself. Just a great little shop!!!!

Awsome shop ! They have everything that I grew up with. And the Owner and his employee Rawk! I give them 2 hands and a leg up. If you ever needing zombie patches or guns and Rose's patches, or any type of button for that Jean jacket or leather jacket this is the place. Also he has all the mad magazines.

All I can say is the owner was nice and knowledgeable about what he is selling. It has a variety of miscellaneous collectables and clothing. Very small building and a bit hard to maneuver but there is a lot to look at. I only gave 3 stars because it was listed as a tourist destination and didn't quite feel that way. However the name does explain as much.

It’s going to take some trust on your part. However set aside some time and go here. I can not stress this enough that it is a complete experience to go here and it’s always worth it. Not sure of the owners name but he’s the nicest guy in the world (not usually sober) however he’s always excited to talk about his collection. Great spot to take a date or just kill some time.

Very friendly and helpfull owner, has very cool vintage items to look at and enjoy. Especially loved the collection of vintage action figures/toys he has to offer, brought back some childhood memories. Lot of Star Wars and Batman/superman figures and other random toys. Also saw tons of VHS tapes and DVD movies old and new. Owner has a old VHS collection of the Twilght Zone which is cool. Very awesome and rare vintage store to look at and find something from the past.

Great selection of antiques in niche categories. Pokémon Cards, Star Wars, VHS, Records, 8 Trak Furniture, Dolls, Models and more! Well priced with a great atmosphere and a super entertaining owner. A must stop for local collectors. Just got the original Superman cartoon and the Orginal Batman Serial Series (Both 1940s) on VHS here.

This is, by far, the best shop of it's kind in the area. The place is overflowing (sometimes literally) with unique, fun treasures, and there are always new and interesting things to see. Tim is the owner/operator, and he is truly the heart and soul of this shop. He is one of the friendliest, most welcoming and optimistic people in town. If you stop by on the right day, you may catch him grilling out in the alley next to the shop, or cooking hot dogs on the sidewalk and giving them out to people as they walk by. He just wants to make people smile, and he does a great job at it. Whether you're a lifetime local or you're visiting Grand Rapids for a weekend, you need to make your way to Captain Bizzaro's.

One of my favorite junk shops in town. Loaded with memorabilia and classic finds, odd ball items, and vintage clothing. They also have a good selection of Vinyls as well as cassettes and CDs. It is a little hidden gem on the west side.
