Reviews of Anjou & the Little Pear Home
Anjou is a very cool furniture boutique. I didn’t buy anything, but it was so fun to look around. The place is literally chock full of awesome vintage/MCM pieces, all in pretty good condition too. I didn’t buy anything but TBH the prices were very reasonable. Cool vintage couches for $400, the eames chair pictured was $400 I believe, including the ottoman. Cheaper than going to west elm ! I didn’t find what I was looking for (vintage table lamps, clocks), but I enjoyed poking through the collection.
Love Anjou. Period. It’s the best kept secret for finding beautiful one of a kind items that have been carefully curated and taken in by Jess and Eric. I have purchased several items over the years for apartments I have lived in to the house I am in now. Buying used is a great alternative to buying new, is environmentally conscious and all of the items at Anjou are of way better quality. I also recently consigned for the first time and it went very smoothly. From stopping in regularly to peruse, my own style has evolved, thanks to Jess and Eric. :)
Anjou is a very cool place. You will find things there that you can't find anywhere else, and some things you didn't even know existed. Considering it it's in Burlington the prices are simply great. Jess, the owner is very knowledgeable about all types of decor. However, mid-century seems to be her strong point. It's hard to walk through this eclectic shop without finding something you'll love.
This shop is a damn gem. The owners have a great eye and source incredible pieces. Prices are reasonable and often well under what they would go for elsewhere. As a design nerd, I am so happy to have Anjou in town.
I enjoy this spot, I always find something here to love for my home! We bought a great modern couch and he threw in a painting for free! They don’t usually deliver but made an exception which was super helpful!
I’ll probably furnish our new condo here. Already bought: gorgeous table that seats 12 (3 leaves) with 6 newly re-upholstered chairs, comfortable red couch, glass top end table, 6 beautiful wine glasses with flower designs.
Prices were right. I’ll always stop in just to look around.
Jess, I'm so sorry for the two star rating. I must have hit the wrong key. Anjou is a five star store and always has been! I have been visiting Anjou for years and have been consistently pleased at the personal service and the quality and quirkiness of the treasures I have found. My house is graced with several items from Anjou. If you haven't been there, you are missing out!
A lot of great items for sale (mid-century modern and more) but tends to be cluttered and hard to navigate which keep this shop from getting a better rating. Prices are okay but certainly don't come expecting a killer deal. On the other hand most items are in great condition and tend to validate higher prices, just know what you are buying first.
Always find treasures. Don't miss.
The good: Pretty good selection of things you likely wouldn't be able to find elsewhere. Nice atmosphere, fun to peruse
The bad: The prices are nowhere near what I would expect for pre-owned items. If you are looking for a good deal or to decorate on a budget, look to Facebook marketplace or Craigslist
Love the wonderful inventory of unique furniture and antiques. Coming from Colorado, we bought and sold furniture here for our daughter who attended UVM. Love Jess the owner. Wonderful lady.
Love this place! This is one of the few places I must stop every time I visit Burlington. Owners are very helpful and friendly and the selection is always changing. There are always great things to discover!
Diverse and well curated selection with excellent prices. This place is a total treasure trove, and the two biggest gems are Jess and Eric. Put it on your list if you are traveling to Burlington (and bring an empty suitcase).
Welcomed upon arrival. Great variety but it is so packed with items, you cannot get to almost 50% of them. A bit of a letdown.
Wow! Lovely place. Eclectic and c beautiful items, fascinating setup that draws you in.
Consistently great inventory of mid-mod furniture.
One of my all time favorite places to shop and visit!
Fun place to go and check out very new and used items
Great stuff, nice owner
Great variety of furniture and home goods!
Always changing and always interesting
