Friendly staff. Generally a quick(ish) turnaround when selling goods. Their purchasing methodology is wildly inconsistent. For example, I brought it n a nice, gently used, popular brand jacket. One day they offered me $5, which I declined. The next day I brought it again and they offered me $40. Pro tip: Any clothing they decline, bring it in a day or two later. Chances are they’ll accept it.

Hot girl summer only store. Great if you are going for cute, affordable but meh quality clothing. The price is great and there is a wide size selection from 00 and up. Most of the stuff is fast fashion. The man section is tiny. If you are looking for something linen or silk like I did, check goodwill instead. It is very busy btw. It is definitely a good store to find clothing for photoshoots. 4 stars because I didn't find anything I wanted.

Took my teenager there, it was right up her alley! Sure, some of the clothes are really worn out, but the shirts she found were all $5-- comparable to goodwill, cheaper, even. I did see quite a few name brands and lots of forever 21. The guys shirt selection was pretty good, found a nice collared gap shirt for $6! And the girl that checked us out was super friendly, didn't catch her name sadly. But she was great! Bring your own bag, as they charge for bags, or u an just carry yer stuff out. No bigs.

It has a lot of popular brands like Brandy, Hollister, Nike, Urban Outfitters, and much more. And the best part it is cheap and is still good quality. I definitely reccomend because it's an affordable way to get clothes. One of the best thrift stores.

I went by Buckle and priced jeans at $125. I ended up at Platos Closet and purchased, 1 pair of shoes, 5 name brand tee shirts, and one pair of pants, all for $90. You can't beat the price.

Plato's Closet definitely carries a great selection. Though some of the clothing can be hit or miss (it is a secondhand store), the prices are excellent and the quality is usually awesome. Relative to customer service, the employees are pleasant and do a good job! It seems to me that most of the staff is pretty young, so it's likely that this is a first job for many of them. There's never an excuse for being rude to customers, and lots of reviews really rip apart the employees at this location. However, I really try to give them the benefit of the doubt - having worked in retail for years, it can be hard. Especially for a first job! Overall, nice place with good customer service and great prices :-)

Overall I've had a good time shopping here. Prices are decent and selection is good. However, my experience selling wasn't as great. The ladies were abrupt and not very friendly. They took about 15 minutes to look at over 60 pieces of clothing and accessories. I understand being picky, but it seemed very rushed for the amount of clothing I had. At the register the girl rung me up so quickly she didn't even ask if I wanted store credit instead of cash. When I pointed this out before even taking the cash, she was snarky and abrupt and said there was nothing she could do. Didn't even offer to try to remedy the situation. I was very disappointed as I would have loved to have spent the money in the store.

They have a good selection of clothing and the clothing itself is very inexpensive. I've had no problems with the customer service here. It hasn't been amazing service but it hasn't been bad either. They are a bit particular in what they'll purchase for clothing (if you're selling or donating clothing to them), so just bear that in mind beforehand. Otherwise, it's a decent establishment with good prices and a good selection. P.S.: They have a much better selection for female clothing than for male clothing.

Recently sold some clothes here, items I would have donated, and got quite a bit back in return. The girls at the front counter were very helpful and explained everything since it was my first time selling to them. I believe their names were Aubrey and Morgan and they were very sweet and answered all the questions I threw at them. While looking through the clothes you can either leave and wait for a text to say they went through it all or stay, I decided to stay and look through the store a bit and found some really cute clothes, all looked in good condition and were things I would have bought at the mall but for much cheaper. Overall a great experience and I will definitely be coming back :)

I love Plato's closet! It's a great place to go for cute clothes that are at budget friendly prices. Also the 90% clearance sales, Instagram account where you can claim clothes, and special events they have for back to school or black Friday really make the place unique and stand out from typical clothing stores. The staff are also really helpful and nice.

I visited Plato’s Closet this afternoon to sell some jeans, as well as look at purchasing a few pairs of jeans. The staff I encountered were all very friendly and pleasant (in particular a young dark haired girl who was handling the fitting rooms). I felt the environment was welcoming and I felt very comfortable. The selling process was simple. I dropped off my clothing and got a text when they were done going through everything. My only complaint was that my things were not folded as neatly as I had left them, but I didn’t fault them for this and did not subtract a star for it either. The selection of clothing was quite large, and surprisingly well organized. All items were neatly hung, and I didn’t see anything on the floor or thrown haphazardly anywhere either which I was very impressed by. The only thing I subtracted a star for was the fact that some of the items of clothing that I picked up had a bad odor to them. Clearly whoever brought them in to be sold hadn’t washed them prior to doing so, and the store didn’t wash them either. I’m assuming the store has no means of washing clothing, but frankly the smell of certain items (and to be fair I probably tried on 10 pairs of jeans and it was only 1 or 2 that were an issue) was highly off putting. Overall, I felt it was a well managed, friendly store, and I would recommend it to others. Oh, one more thing. I wish you’d carry more bootcut jeans. Skinny jeans are cute and all, but they aren’t flattering on all body types. It would be nice to have a wider selection of bootcut jeans to choose from if I come in again. :)

I’ve been going to Plato’s for a long time and I love it. Sometimes you have to pick through some stuff to find something you like but the Instagram rack is always a good place to find something cute. When I sell my clothes there they are super friendly and helpful and last time I went I got $100 from selling stuff I never even wear. I definitely recommend

Hit or miss selling clothes - I'll sometimes be offered up to $40-50 for a handful of clothes, other times near to nothing. This is good and bad - on the one hand, it sucks for the seller trying to make an extra buck, but on the other hand, it's good for the buyer because it means the store only carries cool swag. As a buyer there, I almost always find at least one cool thing at a reasonable price. As a usual Zumiez shopper, I like that Plato's carries men's skate apparel, albeit a tiny section of their store. They hate cancer patients apparently - according to people who likely have difficulty distinguishing practical business choices and the personal opinions of business owners.

Great place to sell if you need money now. You will get paid slightly less per item then consignment, but you dont have to wait or come back for items. It's all taken care of at once. My one complaint is that they seem to put brand name over quality. They will take a raggity gym shark outfit over a non name brand outfit that still has the tags on it. I'm assuming that's catering to the clientel though. They also have good deals particularly if you can get there quick enough once they put the cute stuff on the floor.

Sold some cloths here and I felt they actually gave a fair price for them. They ended up taking 4 of my items for 14.95. I wasn't super impressed by the customer service though. It was my first time in and I obviously wasn't sure where to go to pick up my trade. I went to the wrong desk and got ignored at first, then when i asked the girls sorting through items about my trade they acted like i was just stupid for not knowing where to go. Guess i was inturupting their conversation with my confusion?? However, the cashier was very pleasent and had wonderful customer service.

They always have the best prices on used clothes. Their store is organized well, so it's easy to find what you are looking for. If you follow them on social media you get a first look at sales and new unique items they get in. The men's selection can be scarce and they have a more punk like selection than other consignment stores. The associates are not the friendliest, that's the only thing I would recommend improving.

This is primarily where I buy my clothes. They're relatively cheap, and I love how I can buy lots of sweaters for more than half off the original asking price. They always have new inventory, so if you look through everything, you're bound to find something you like everytime you go. I love being able to buy recycled clothing. I highly recommend over other thrift/second-hand shops.

Prices for items are pretty good but if you plan to take clothes in, prepare to spend 3 hours just waiting for them to sort through 5 items. They do pick items according to season but they definitely turn away a lot of great things. 90% of their employees are also pretty rude.

Needs more size selection. I'm a size large in shirts and in pants I wear a 14-16, the shirts had a pretty good selection however my pant size was basically unavailable. I do understand it's taken in from costumers but if there was any way to request more of that or draw in a larger range of women thatd be awesome !

This store is a treasure hunt minus the hunt! Any used clothing store you go to there will be bad and there will be good. What I love about Platos is that I don’t have to look as hard because they always have good, high quality clothes. For CHEAP!

Decent place to get brand name clothes for cheap. Selling your clothes to them takes a pretty long time which is a downside to it, so keep that in mind. Customer service has been nice every time I’ve been in.

I have been going to school in Boise for 2 years now and I am happy to say that Plato’s Closet Boise is the only place I shop for clothes in Boise. Compared to other Plato’s I have been to, Boise’s location feels like walking into a store in the mall. It is well organized, super clean, has great prices, the items are in excellent condition, and it is way better for the environment to buy used clothes than brand new! I highly recommend Plato’s Closet Boise to anyone looking to add some cute new items to their closet:)

I have found some incredible stuff here!!! I feel like there's a double standard with many reviews...people expect to pay little for items purchased in the store, but get lots of $ back for items sold!! I have always been pleased with what I receive for my buys. And as for the people unhappy with them passing on your stuff...pay attention to what they sell and bring like items!!! If you wouldn't purchase it in the store, then neither will they!!!!!

What a wonderful store! They did a large back-to-school clothing drive for the teens living in the emergency shelters in Boise Nampa. They matched dollar for dollar each donation made. Platos Is awesome! They have a huge selection and are way cheaper than anywhere else to buy clothing. I have shopped many times finding some of the same things I have seen at the mall that were at Platos for way cheaper. I always get so many complements on the clothing I wear and I only shop at Platos Closet. The workers are always so helpful and always help you find what you need! I Bring in clothes all the time and they always buy just about all my clothes. If you have a chance to stop by, stop by because you will not be disappointed and will walk away with some super cute clothes and accessories :)

This was a nice clean Plato's. It appears to be quite large initially but I found the selection to be weak compared to other Plato's I have been through. Then again, that was in a bigger city, so that could be why. Otherwise, it was very organized and clean and smelt good too.

I usually consign my clothes to Playtos every 3-6 months and have only had one issue. The people there are usually friendly...some more friendly than others. I will say that the store overall could use an attitude check - it's called customer service for a reason. If I'm more friendly than you...we have a problem! :) For those complaining about bringing in clothes worth "so much money" and only getting 3 bucks on return - here's a tip for you. They go off of the joker tags in the clothing. So the SKU number - they look it up in their system to see 1. how old it is, 2. the average price for the item. Then they give you 30-40% based on that. If you're looking to get top dollar for your clothes I would suggest Ebay instead. :)
