First time in this store. The store was clean, shelves and merchandize were well organized. Even the shoes, books, cds and DVDs were neatly arranged. Good variety of items available. Got a few nice items at reasonable prices. They got a unique style of displaying jeans and other clothing. The store really spent a lot of time organizing things. If you’re patient and lucky enough you’ll find great items people overlooked. Overall great thrift store

My spot! As u can see by the pic. People are serious about getting here early for Mondays sale. I get my son's clothes here he's, growing so fast. I can always find something here that looks new and brand name. Clothing, houseware, toys, jewelry, furnishings, shoes like crazy. They have it all! You can also become a member & get points for discounts. Don't leave Columbia without stopping here BEFORE you go to the big retail stores.I found out that the 2nd Ave in Laurel accepts donations so this is a good way to sustainably recycle and save. Happy shopping!!

Bright, clean, big, large variety of items. Quality/cleanliness of the items could be better controlled. Plenty of items are priced fair, but some are marked pretty high considering the age, wear on them and quality of the items. If it's like new sure, price it best new price....but if it's ripped, torn, stained, incomplete, missing parts then it should be heavily reduced. Gotta hunt through all the junk to find the deals that make it worth while.

Love this thrift store! Huge selection of clothing, shoes, home goods - you name it! Great children's clothing section and all kinds of books as well. The store is very clean, with the exception of fitting rooms always having dust bunnies. The pricing can be somewhat inconsistent and some items are priced on the higher side, but overall lots of great things to be found!

I really enjoy shopping for pre-loved and new clothing items I find at 2Ave. I have found brand names from Gap, Chico’s to ST.JOHN in good to mint condition. My closet is 50 percent 2Ave , 30 percent consignment and the rest divided between online and stores. I recommend 2Ave for great value and quality.

This is my favorite store. I have the best wardrobe and it’s entirely from this store. I wear only the best name brands. Ugg boots, Aeropostale Jeans, London Fog jacket, and so much more!!!! I enjoy the shopping experience and the low low Prices. I can get a bag filled with items for under $20. If you haven’t t been - what are you waiting for???!!! Recycle! Reuse! And Why buy new when you can get “like new” for Pennie’s on the dollar. PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR. Pennies.😉

Been here several times. It's always extremely clean and organized. There's a huge selection of quality items. Today everything was 50% off except white tag (new items), so the place was packed and the line went across the store.

They've improved the layout of the store since the last time we visited and we found a lot of cool stuff. The staff were very helpful and friendly as well. Edit - stopped in after Thanksgiving and they had a lot of people working and even though the lines were long, they moved fast and we had plenty of assistance.

One of the best selections I've seen at a thrift store. It was clean, well organized, brightly lit, plus the fitting rooms were open. My one complaint is that the mirrors in the fitting room are like a funhouse but it beats not being able to access one at all. Great selection of art and home decor as well. It's huge so be prepared to spend a lot of time there!

I really love this store! I shop here all the time. One thing I've noticed lately is that you need to hold on to your items. Do not lay it in your cart the workers there will tag team you.while on one side of you hanging up something the other one is on the other side taking stuff out of your cart. This happened to me today 8-8-22 (smh ) things they tried to hide. ..

Good store but the inability to provide bags is unruly. It discourages big buyers. At least customers could buy them for some amount. The idea of carrying clothes in heaps out to the car lot is sad. And guess what? The idea that the carts are built with long poles to prevent taken them out is cruelsome. Please fix this....not cool

This place was great! Clean, well lit, and they had EVERYTHING. It's huge! The image I'm posting with this review - that's a whole aisle of nothing but scarves! I was really impressed by the scale of this place. There were a few negatives - the clothes were very tightly packed which made browsing difficult, and they were pretty disorganized. Also there aren't nearly enough dressing rooms - there was a line of people waiting the whole time I was there, which was around 1pm on a Thursday - I can't imagine what it must be like at a peak time. I felt like their prices were fair though, and I'm very happy with my purchases. I'll be back!

This is the nicest thrift store EVER and until now I had no idea it was a chain! They had two racks of beautiful dresses, lots of great kitchen stuff.. I couldn't stayed there all day! Nate and Jennifer (staff members) were very helpful--the employees all just seemed nice and the store was so organized! I'm glad I don't live super close because my whole paycheck would be gone.

I love this store! They are constantly putting new things out on the racks. The store is clean and they always have a discount sale going on! Cashiers are always friendly. Later in the day the line always gets extremely long but considering this is a popular place, I can’t complain.

Great selection. As far as thrift stores go this is one of the better ones. Many items still w/price tags (brand new, never worn) sold for a mere fraction of the regular price. Most items are gently worn and in great shape. They do a good job trying to keep it all organized but it's a thrift store, not Nordstroms.

Pros: Great selection of items, happy to have an alternative to Goodwill. Cons: The music is ridiculously loud! I have sensory issues and it's overwhelming. I have to wear foam earplugs at all times and I can still hear which song is playing. Please, please turn down the volume. I would prefer no music like Aldi and Costco, but at least this would help.

I was here last night and they had like 6 or 7 registers open around 530. This store is great! Always a decent selection. Wish they had more for home reno section. Some great things I've found here was a working Samsung 36 in TV, Cole haan wedges, Vera Bradley wallets, shein sweats, lululemon leggings, and tons of decent kids toys. I'm really a fan of not creating more waste and this store is literally so awesome.

I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for but the selection is huge and everything within the store is logically organized. It does get really crowded and folks don't know how to control their kids but that's not the stores fault. I recommend popping in and seeing what's there simply because there are some cheap, hidden gems amongst all the bric-a-brac.

Very nice store the only problem is the shoes aren't in the correct area when coming to sizes. Also they have handbags and the lady who works there said they don't sell them she basically screamed at me saying they don't sell them..

I really enjoy this store. It is way less overwhelming than the Laurel branch. This store offers a nice selection of everything. They rearranged the store so it is even easier to navigate. I can stay and shop or get in and out. The bathrooms are clean. Mondays and Thursdays are always a great time to go if you time it correctly. I have been coming here for years and plan to continue to do so.

This is the first 2nd value store that I have been to and I have had so much more success here than any other value stores. I don't come in expecting to find or buy anything and probably why it's a fun experience. I have been able to find beautiful cashmere and wool sweaters here, sometimes soaps that are otherwise rather pricey (random I know!). It is my favorite past time activity!

I love shopping at Second Ave but not very Senior or Disabled Customer- friendly. There is literally no chair in dressing room to sit on to put on ones shoes. You literally have to walk barefoot to front of store to tell manager you need a chair. I believe that Disabled customers should be able to shop comfortably at second avenue as non- disabled customers! The shopping experience should be accessible to all customers🙏

I really like that I can find something there every time I go but I really wish there was some seating. I have to bring my elderly mother with me and she can not stand up for long so I can rarely go there. I also have back problems and find it difficult to keep shopping for too long. Visited the 2nd Ave store in Columbia MD today May 29, 2020. First day open since pandemic shut things down. Prices were a bit high and no color specials. I was ready to spend but didn’t buy much cause of prices. The clothes especially were new store prices. Employees did a great job keeping the line moving at the registers and wiping cart handles down.

Love the sales, good selection of sizes and styles. I've gone to the one in Essex and it was not something I want to experience again. But this one in Columbia, I will happily make the trek because it is totally worth it. Like every thrift store you have to do a lot of digging but it is half the fun!

Good prices, awesome selection, and quality clothing. I have shopped at other thrift stores, but this one is my favorite. This store, the clothing is in excellent condition, gently used, with some still having original store tags on them! The prices are reasonable, especially if you shop on their 50% off days-- they typically have 3-4 different tag colors on sale an extra 50% off. It is also a large store, and offers everything from housewares, electronics, toys, every size clothing for kids and adults, coats, purses, .... the list goes on. I <3 <3 <3 2nd Avenue!

Updated: prices here are getting ridiculous for thrift....brands like Old Navy and JC P priced like high end brands. Harder to find good deals on basics. And really don't like that they stopped organizing by color. Not going to be visiting as often. Took away another star. Prior review: Used to be organized by category, size and colors, now just category and size. But the sizes are haphazard....which means you have to look through everything. Not a fan of change. Prices too high for thrift but I really appreciate the ease of shopping, wide aisles and decent selection of clothing if you know what to look for

You can find almost anything in here from clothes to things for your kitchen,bath,kids toys/books,dvd etc. They color code their tags so on certain days you might even be able to get ur item even cheaper. I love this store for the selection and quality of items but over the last few weeks the prices have gone up. Some things really overpriced for a “thrift” store. Picked up several items with original tags on them but they were gently used, and the price that 2nd Ave was charging was the same price as the original. Back to yard sales for books and dvds....and need to come here only on the discount days!

Favorite store. Yes some items are most expensive than normal “thrift store” prices but thats because most of the clothing is brand new, if its not new its in excellent condition. I’ll never pay full price for clothes again. Found a pair of steve madden boots there with a $150 tag still on them for $15. Great store for families on a budget or if you just hate paying mall prices for clothing!! Always find cool gadgets on in the kitchen section also.

First time in here and I was surprised at how nice it was. We purchased a lot of kids coats for the upcoming winter that we will donate when the weather gets a little cooler, we will be going back for more as well because the selection was much better than we expected.

2nd avenue is the best!! They have amazing selection. The only thing is sometimes they are expensive, like, come on this is a thrift store. I can get brand new clothes that are cuter at Ross for the same price. But with things that are usually expensive like jackets they're GREAT. I got an Express wool blend peacoat for $20 there. I wear it like everyday. Also got a wool blend banana peacoat there too, several pairs of pants, and a few shirts. Overall, it's great! They keep is pretty clean too, so it's almost never messy!

I love Second Avenue and have been going for years and today was the first time there was someone working the dressing rooms who I felt was rude. Usually they make small talk or smile at you but this lady didnt smile once, she just pointed to a dressing room for you to go to. A few things are missing that should be available to customers, mirrors. You shouldn't have to go a dressing room to try on a hat or shoes to see how it looks on you. There is no line forming section, people don't know where to stand, you can just by pass every one and just walk up to a cashier, dangerous...
