Reviews of Second Life Upscale Resale
This is one of my favorite thrift stores to go to , the staff is always welcoming and nice they always have unique items and they have different sales different days of the week. They are also eco-friendly I would say they give you reusable bags or paper bags. 10/10 recommend
I went today (8/13) for the first time and 10/10 would recommend! I found some really cute shirts but also found great deals on dog items. As someone who is currently fostering 4 puppies I wish I would have known about this gem months ago!
Very clean and organized. All staff members wear masks and are very helpful and friendly.

Update-- Still an awesome place however they still make you wear a mask and they wipe down all carts after use. Lots of people were grumbling about the mask. I feel it's whatever the store wants to do... It's your choice if you want to shop or not but you must wear a mask still!

Update-- Nothing has changed from April's review. You must still wear a mask to shop🥴. The staff is wonderful!
I never write reviews but this store deserves it. Just the best thrift in Atlanta imo especially for smaller stuff (clothes, books, games, cables, stationery, plates...). A shame that the furniture store is closed. Otherwise, the place is neat and organized and the staff is friendly.
A great thrift store for women's clothing, odds and ends pet supplies, games, records, old VHS, kitchenware, crafting supplies....the furniture place is hit or miss, but always quick to walk through. If you are looking for furniture and didn't find it here, there is always Kudzu nearby. The owner of the store is great! And your money goes to a great cause. My favorite spot to go monthly and donate too!
Literally the cleanest and most organized thrift store ever!!!!!! I always find something good here, please support. also if you have a furbaby you can find something for them too.
The place is great. You can find so many different things here! The people are very friendly too.
Great folks, even better cause. Bargains galore a pleasure to Shop here. Shop small y'all!
Best thrift store ever. I love that I'm shopping and donating for animals. But the secret's out - I've tried to stop by there several times in the last few months and each time there was nowhere anyhwhere near to (legally) park.
Well organized store with a variety of books. I loved their collection of Non Fiction. The clothing is also really nice and inexpensive. I love and support what they are doing for the rescue animals. Also, the staff is really helpful and knowledgeable. I would stop by again to find some good reads!
Great selection and fair prices, all for a good cause. Their pet clothing section is a real treat. They currently have some darling reversible pet jackets from a shut-down Florida boutique priced at $4 apiece-- a very special place. A must-visit for locals and visitors alike.
Always a good place to shop when wanting a good value and when supporting a good cause. Always friendly staff even after my 2 year hiatus because of the pandemic.
This is such a well organized, adorable shop! The items are obviously handpicked and every thing is very good quality. I especially love their jewelry selection. Earrings are only 3 dollars, no matter the size or material, which is better than most Goodwills and Value Villages. I have found some of the most unique statement earrings and headscarves here that I wear everyday.
My favorite thrift store to go to! You will always find something that catches your eye. All the workers and volunteers are extremely friendly. Very clean environment despite it being a secondhand store.
Best. Second-hand. Store. Ever.
first, they have a great cause they are supporting. AS If that wasn't enough, they also have wonderful inventory and great prices. On top of that even, they have killer sales. I always am pleased when I visit second life, with a big bag of new goodies. Never had to pay more than $50 for a lot of great quality items. And last but not least, they have the best staff I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. Definitely visit this store!
What a great collection of EVERYTHING for sale for a good cause. From home goods and media to fashion and pets, the signs warn you to "buy it when you see it or it might gone" and they are right! I found a formal dress, a suit, a pair of jeans and earrings for under $50. Great deals and proceeds benefit our little furry friends!
I have only been here once, but I fell in love. I made some great purchases for my classroom. I went to both stores and really had great customer service. I was consulted about my purchase and was even showed the quality of a desk I purchased that was originally from Ikea. The prices are great for the quality items. I just wished it opened at 10.
This is my favorite place to shop. I find neat, unusual items here which are reasonably priced. The owners offer discounts nearly every day of the week, sometimes as much as 50% off of every item in the store. People who love animals donate nice items, and the staff weeds out what a previous reviewer called "crap".
Tanya is truly a saint! Been shopping here since the opening. Always clean and well organized. I ONLY donate here - it is a true charity! The Goodwill is NOT a charity. The president of the North Georgia Goodwill chapter makes a million dollars a year and some of the store managers make $75,000 a year.
Give your donations here - they truly do the work and their work makes a true difference for animals and organizations that support animal services!
This is my favorite thrift store in Atlanta. The front part of the store sometimes has unsold products from other stores and I've found some really cute birthday gifts. They tend to have a really interesting selection of books and graphic novels in stock and the book shelf is organized by subject. The money goes to save the pits. Check it out some time!
I love to take my dog here and browse around the secondhand merchandise. The employees remain friendly and attentive no matter how crowded it gets. Better to get there early on big sale days. Some customers take too much clothing into the fitting rooms.
Best thrift store in the city for sure. Quality items at low prices. They test the electronics to ensure operation. Different sales and deals on items on different days. I just wish they had more space and more people donating!
Wonderful shop, supports local animals. Always full of quality finds. Staff is super nice. Has a little pet items area.
The employees are wonderful and people are always donating the coolest stuff here. Plus everything you buy helps support homeless animals so really you don't need to shop anywhere else.
The shop is well organized. They have some pretty good stuff and great prices for a great cause. Avondale is under rated. They should provide maps and list the shops available. Like the rest of the Atlanta area, parking and public transit need some help.
There are some great deals at the furniture component of this charity organization. They tend to get good looking, or at least interesting, furniture. When considering the reasonable prices, these items go fast. Great cause!
Best thrift store in the world! Great finds, quality items, friendly employees, low prices & helps animals!
Superb!! First class folks running this thrift store. What isn't mentioned is ALL profits go toward animal rescue! This organization has donated over $600,000 to date to various rescue orgs in the area. So if the high prices are an issue for anyone, remember it's also a donation toward saving homeless pets!! ☺️
If you are looking for a good or used bargain for your home or yourself than this is your place, not to mention your support helps the life of cats and dogs. Parking lot is very small.
Nice place. My first visit. Got some great Bakers heels for $4! I'll definitely be back and donate. I rescued my pups too!
If I weren't lazy this review would go on and on and on about how much I like this place and the wonderful owner and wonderful people that work and volunteer in both the stores (they have a reg store & super cool furniture store next door). Part of me hesitates to post this cause I don't want more competition beating me to all the great finds in these places!!! lol If it's a long ways from you make a great trip of it by getting your Dekalb farmers market shopping done right after you treasure hunt Second Life!!! Also, my 4 footed kid Wylie highly approves of the Treat Dispensers he has wrapped around his sweet little paws. :--o)
Best thrift store ever!! Their mission is so important.
We LOVE LOVE LOVE Second Life Atlanta!
The best thing about donating and shopping at Second Life is that they are serious donors when it comes to helping out local animal welfare organizations in their community. It makes it easy to spend money at their store knowing that animals in need will benefit from it!
I'm a fan of thrift stores, but this one stands apart. "Upscale Resale" captures what they do. Donations are screened, electronics tested, clothes, sheets, etc. given the critical eye to maintain a certain standard. At the main store and furniture annex I've bought everything from laptop power supplies to most of the decor at my home office, including desk, chairs, computer printers, a monitor and even the framed reproduction of Picasso's Don Quixote woodcut on the wall.
But it isn't one of those "consignment" stores where friends shopping together whisper about how much cheaper it is here than at Phipps Plaza ... excuse me, I meant whisper about how much more "accessible" -- calling anything in their world "cheap" is verboten.
I recently decided to explore getting into baking bread, and most of the equipment has come from here (the countertop convection oven, though, did come from Goodwill). Sure, the utensils, pans, oven mits and everything else will be somewhat mismatched . And often there will be obvious signs of a lot of use, but not as to impair function.
And thus visiting friends will be impressed by the obvious signs that this has been a years-long avocation instead of suspecting that you baked your first loaf last week and when done it had the consistency of a rock and tasted like a shipping box from Amazon.
Not that this happened to me, mind you, but I will admit that if you'd thrown my first loaf into a pond, it would have sunk. Immediately.
Steve Jobs famously said that in coming up with the iPod he paid no attention to what marketing studies claimed consumers wanted because people can't know they want a product like that until they see it. Well, I'm like that about many things. I'll see something on a shelf and realize I want it. And at thrift-store prices, it is no big deal to indulge.
The BEST place to donate your unwanted stuff, proceeds go to animal welfare! I always end up buying something, too! The owners are great people. Support their cause- shop & donate!
Best thrift store ever! Always find something I want or need. Good quality merchandise.
My favorite place to shop. I always find new treasures at great prices. Store is very clean, well managed and organized, Friendly!, and I can bring my fluffy child with me. Yea!
Always find several great somethings here. Wish i could give it 4.5 stars
Just wish they had fitting rooms here
This is such a great place!! The volunteers/staff are happy to be there. The stock is interesting and clean. The electronics are mostly verified as working, and finally the cause is a good one.
Go over there!
Expected a little more for an "Upscale Resale" place. Quirky and kind of interesting
I am most pleased with this second hand shop! They have a really good selection, and try to please all ages and trends. The staff is really nice, and funny! I've found a lot of cool things from there!
On Tuesday had a 99 cent sale. A store that helps rescued pets. Brought a nice picture frame for 4 dollars...reasonable prices not a big store.
I've been there a couple of times Nice. However Truly depending on exactly what your getting is how much more you pay than at A Reg Store New. I know sometimes Hard To Remember Its All for a gokd cause.
It's exactly like Goodwill, which is not a bad thing, I just don't understand what makes it classify as "upscale". Maybe Goodwill is also upscale. I don't know.... This place is worth dipping into but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
Best thrift store EVER! Tidy, everything is marked, people there are very nice. A classy place. Volunteer if you can! For such a wonderful cause!
Great place to donate goods, as they are always very appreciative of what you donate. Also nice place to purchase items. Goes to a great cause.
Always visit this store when in town for school. It is like seeking for treasure, because you never know what will turn up. We always have a wonderful time. Thank you.
Great place to buy used items and it supports a good cause. Awesome staff. Clean area. Nice book selection
Wonderful store!
Very nice organized price go little high for second hand clothing when50% off then is really good.
Lots of great bargain finds but you have to go often because their stock changes regularly. Plus it helps out Atlanta's animals.
Nice layout. Good cause. No children's clothes just toddlers and down. First time shopper, but I'd return!
I love this store. Stocked full of great merchandise. AND they are working hard towards such a worthy cause.
Great place to find a deal on clothes. Very clean, fitting rooms, modern selection. I always find something I love.
Great people, great heart, really good deals. Proceeds go to help animal rescues. What's not to love!
Love this place! Great selection and prices AND you help animals with every purchase! Everybody WINS!

Tanya and her hubby are nice people and I support their cause because they really love and care for animals. Please do the same by visiting soon. Thank you! PEJAY
I bought 2 bags from here and it was Versace. The price was less than $20 for 2. I was just the lucky one for the day.
this is s great consignment shop that benefits rescue animals. never know what you will find. friendly staff
Really nice store and staff. Always a great deal to be found and pet friendly too!
Great place to recycle or buy clothes, books, household items, large and small. Proceeds benefit pet rescue facilities.
Nicely appointed, as good quality as the consignment store and for a great cause... just wish they opened at 10...
Always beautiful high-end stuff and unexpected bargains. Truly the best thrift store in Atlanta and beyond!
This thrift store is my standard to which I hold all others. Clean, organized plenty of variety and fair priced.
Wonderful place, delightful workers and, most importantly, they support dogs and the care of dogs.
Love the way this operates to help doggies and kitties. Great sales. Can find some real gems.

Great wares selection at wonderful prices. Always a treasure waiting to be discovered here!
Polite staff, clean store, neat selection of items. Plus - maybe a kitten or dog to adopt!
Great place to fine good things and help the animals shelter.
An enlightened place, thoroughly concurrent with the prehensile subtlety oft invoked in a quasi-speculative fashion.
Great place to shop. Something for everyone. Polite clerks.
