First I would like to say, selling my clothes at Plato's is my own choice. Let's be honest, if I didn't need cash, then I wouldn't be doing it. The staff I have dealt with have been nice enough, and of course the wait is very long, because everyone is trying to sell, and they are short staffed. My real concern is that I took all this time to make sure clothes were laundered and folded, packed nicely, in the container required, and they only, look at the items on the top. I had shoes and nice name brand shirts in the middle and on the bottom, that they didn't even look at. How do I know. Well, I waited quite a while for my buy to be done, came in and out of the store, did some errands, when finally I thought let me just head back. Perhaps they would almost be ready to sort mine. Well, it just so happens, I walked back in sat for a while, and then stood up. Guess what. I was in there right as the young lady pulled my box and started sorting my clothes. She took the shoes off the top, the jacket, a couple shirts, and didn't even look through the rest of my box. I didn't say anything, because I feel like it's kinda my fault for even having to do this. Just wanted to say, that in my opinion it's not right, to not even look at all the clothes I'm bringing in, just saying.

I shop at this Plato’s almost every other week. They have great merchandise, but it’s hit or miss with the Customer service. It ALWAYS closes early even when the hours on the door say 9:00, they close at 8. The employees that are working the counter talk amongst themselves about what’s happening in their lives. I have been to the store in Buford and you can’t even compare the customer service. I do like the clothes better at this location I just wish the hours were consistent and posted correctly on the door and the internet. It kinda seems the employees just want to leave early so they close early. I know I worked in retail so I understand how it is. But overall I like the employees and the store.

Way better customer service than the infamous Duluth location. Staff is often nice and helpful. Do know they require masks all the time and if you use a credit card you need to show your ID.

(This is just a review of the selling experience) The woman at the front was nice and greeted me promptly. They had the rules for selling clearly displayed at the counter. The turn around time was reasonable, about one hour, with one or two people ahead of me. If you leave to run errands they will call you and let you know they're done. They will keep your belongings behind the counter so others can't rifle through them. They will separate the clothes they picked out and let you see what they took and give you the opportunity to review their offer. Their offer is pretty standard with what other places will offer (e.g. rag-o-rama, buffalo exchange). Great experience!

Does not open on time. Online and door clearly states 10:00am opening and there isn’t even an employee in the store. Drove all the way to be the first one here, no one at the door…. Came for a second time. Per the first visit l, I was a little cranky, once I got inside the lady was super nice and took a lot of clothes. As far as the second visit, I was waiting again for them to open for about 10 minutes. I was the first person to give them clothes at 10:09, they told me 30 mins, came back at 10:41 and was told mine wasn’t done yet..so they did multiple people before me although I was first and waited for the opening employee… Bumping up my review because the employees are nice

My teen and I takes items to sell, and we often buy. Works wonderfully for both of us. The store team is super nice. When items are not accepted, they can even often give a straightforward why, and if your honest with yourself, you'd totally agree. Luv, luv the clearance items. It's like scoring twice. I found a pair of boots that were already a great price. Then they were discounted even more. I paid $3. Nice!

The staff is attentive and fast but the product selection is not up to par with other Plato's closets I've dealt with. Some of the items are damaged and many don't look clean. I understand that they need to take only what sells but when my brand new with tags true religion skinny jeans are given back to me and there is a pair of no-name-brand, paint splattered, and torn jeans on the rack, that doesn't make for a very classy product selection. Just wish they carried more name brand items. Much better for tweens and teens rather than young adults. Again, nice staff just doesn't quite cater to my clothing needs.

There was a bad (not just a hint, but very strong) body odor smell on some of the clothes throughout the store. I get that it's used clothing, however if they got washed and put on the racks to be sold that way, you guys need more attentive associates. I told a friend to go by there again with me in case I was imagining it, so we went back when we were in the area again and it was still there. The prices were decent and they had a big selection of styles, though. Just the experience of the bad odors turned me off of buying anything both times.

Very good prices on trendy items. Has a huge selection of men and women's clothing. Some items have a lot of wear on them compared to others. If you like hunting for a good bargain this is your store. Definitely a better selection for a younger audience than goodwill.

I went to this Platos in search of club wear and there was a great variety in sizes and styles. The staff was very pleasant, Steve checked me out and made sure that I had everything that I needed. I'm not sure why anybody has had unpleasant shopping experiences here, but mines has never been anything but positive.

A lot of my thrifted clothes are from here. Very beautiful selection that they have, but tends to be abit on the pricey side sometimes. And I’ve also sold quite a bit of clothes here. And as expected, you won’t get nearly what your clothes are worth when selling, they once offered me $5 for my Fila sneakers. But a good place all in all for thrifting

I don't see why people are having bad experiences here. I have been to this location on quite a few occasions and i have never been treated with anything but respect. The employees are very helpful and kind. If i have ever had a question they have always answered and pointed me in the right direction. As for the conversation among the employees.. I mean they might express themselves in a different way than most people are accustomed to, but, I have never had a problem with them and I've never overheard any of the employees speak of anything that i thought to be odd or out of the way... And, i mean, they do not always accept everything that i bring in to sell... But i'm not going to complain about it.... We all know that they are looking for a certain range of style and most of the time they only want what you can wear for that certain season... Also, at times there may be a waiting period before they will be able to look at your items, but come on.. most places that you go on a regular basis.... Like the gas station... There may be times when you have to wait in line.... That's life.. Be patient... All in all i give this location 5 stars!

They seemed to be looking for items that were practically unused, which is great for shoppers but unfortunate for people looking to trade in and may also reduce the selection available.

I've been shopping at Platos closet for the last 5 years and I've been to a plethora of locations to include North Carolina. However, this location, Briarcliff, is by far the best. It's always clean, neat and stocked with the latest fashions. The staff is awesome and professional. They always greet you upon entering and continue to make sure you are finding the perfect pieces to fit your style. I live 45 minutes away and pass several Platos Closets just to reach this location. I am a stickler when it comes to customer service and the staff continue to exceed those expectations. I would recommend this location to everyone, every shopaholic and anyone looking for the latest fashions and outstanding customer satisfaction.

I have issues with Plato's because I've taken name brand and designer items and they either won't take them or will give me $10 for it. But then I'll walk around the store while I'm waiting and see crap that is falling apart and cheap/out of style and they obviously paid someone for that. There's other consignment shops that have nicer things anyways. The staff is nice though!

I sold some items at this location. I only took pieces that were trendy and "brand name" such as Old Navy, The Limited, Express, French Connection, Steve Madden, Polo, Nine West and Coach. I thought they offered me a reasonable price, considering I buy from them also. The employees were pretty friendly and not rude. I think some people go in thinking they are going to get TJ Maxx or Filene's Basement prices for items. I really like shopping at this location especially for sweaters and tops!!!!! You can't beat these prices during these tough economic times!!! Great fashions for less and they are designer brand!!!!!

Tried to sell a pair of Old Gringo Cowgirl boots (worth about $1000), the gentleman that helped me told me that he would be happy to take them, but was completely honest that they were worth way more than he could offer me and I'd have a better chance of getting my money's worth going to a boutique or something. I am unsure where all of the negative reviews are coming from. Store was extremely clean and organized and the staff was very helpful. Apparently there was problems with the old location / some of the employees, but both employees that I came into contact with were awesome.

It's a Plato's Closet, so I'm not sure what people expect. That said, I was pleased with the service I received, as well as the selection of clothes. The staff was a little lackadaisical, but they were certainly not rude and asked me if I needed any help while waiting on a fitting room.
