Reviews of Value Village
I love value village! I love the fact that they prevent things from filling up landfills and give us the opportunity to re-purpose useful items. Every now and again I'll see something in the store that I know was donated for free that they are asking the same price as I could buy it new elsewhere, I try not to be very grouchy about it and just pass on those things. It's like a treasure hunt for the bargains. Today the bargain was this giant, unabridged, Websters dictionary. $4.99... every household needs a good dictionary.... this is one more than foots the bill!
One of the better value villages in town. Its very clean compared to other thift stores. Also very organized and has lots of treasures. friendly staff and great deals.
This thrift store is my third fav. Only due to the fact that if u buy something u aren't able to exchange or return it if it doesn't work or doesn't fit. Other than that I have found some pretty great deals here aswell
It's a great place to go if you are looking for cheap parts for a project. Example: I was putting together a vacuum chamber and I needed to find an appropriate chamber. I found a food storage container that was set up with a one way valve in the lid! It was designed for use with a vacuum packer and was so perfect! Not only did I find what I was looking for I found it on the cheap! Thank you value village! I give them 4 stars for the wait at checkout. It was ridiculously long. There were employees scurrying about but none that would take up a register and help with the long line of ready customers. I would have walked out but I needed that vacuum chamber bad! All in all 4 outta 5 stars. If it doesnt need to be fast I'd recommend value village.
I go there when ever I get bored. Always find something good and can't beat me prices.
I usually find something here. It’s probably my favorite thrift store in Anchorage. It’s clean, has a interesting variety of stuff up front I always like to peruse.
The stores are clean, aisles well marked and i like the sales on certain color tags of that day/week. When you drop off donations they give you a coupon to shop with the next time you visit, and occasionally they send coupons to my email. Great deals!
The store was stocked fully with everything you can think of buying! So much selection and choices all around! The employees were very helpful with trying to plug in electronics to test the items and the cashier was extremely nice and answered a lot of questions! There is even a $1,200 signing up bonus after 90 days of starting work there! It's a comfortable and casual atmosphere to browse around and you can take your time to purchase stuff people really need and want! I get very happy to spend even more money when they have discounts on colored shopping rags. Today I could have spent more, but the Orange colored tags saved me more money, which made me even want to buy more orange tagged items! I can go on and on about the good things Value Village does on Dimond, So you should go there and find out yourself, the deals and savings! Happy Shopping!
Can find some good deals, but they need to be more consistent with their pricing. I bought a pair of used Dansko's a month ago that were in good condition for $11.99. I went today and they had a similar pair in not so good shape priced at $35.99. They had others that were priced $6.99 for a pair and similar was priced at $35.99 - all on Dansko's and there was no method to it based on condition.
Well as usual with thrift stores it's hit or miss. Just depends on the luck of the draw. In any case i do not go to thrift stores to look for something in particular, i go to discover something unique and spectacular. You never know what you might find! Have fun!
Value Village interior looked inviting and well organized. Friendly folks at the front end -- so nice to hear a welcoming greeting as you come in the door!
I needed a wool blanket, but wasn't able to locate one today. Kind of a unique item, so I wasn't particularly perturbed that they didn't have one.
There were a couple of lovely fur coats on the "coats"racks; probably some more I didn't even come across on other racks. Fun to realize this place can have gems like that!!
Went here looking for furniture. Not big selection but had 3 wood deals for 25 dollars a piece and they were all in good condition. Got a table and ottoman for 30 total. Sweet nickknacks. Staff is really helpful too
Thanks to the staff and their direction in helping things to be done safely. I appreciate the one at a time donation and helping keep physical distance so I could donate safely.
I find a lot of good things here, but @ times they over price there stuff that is literally for free they don't pay for a single thing they receive but then really really like to over charge so many different stuff they receive for free as a donation from all of us here in Alaska Anchorage
It’s not huge but they have a good selection for stuff, and they have a self checkout now.
Clean, bright and better organized than in the past. Cashier Autumn (?) was wonderful!
I could hear her chatting with customers and wishing them a good day while i was finishing my shopping.
A ray of sunshine during our frustrating times.
I was was able to assemble an outfit in under 10 minutes and was out the door in under 15 minutes. Dressed in the parking lot. Thank you Value Village for helping me look my best for $46 and keeping me on time.
We like to go to Value Village when the kids need clothes. We always find something that's in good shape and costs considerably less than buying it new. We always donate our old belongings too.
I felt like a second class citizen at the Dimond location. Prices were way higher than other stores and staff unfriendly at an hour til closing. A few items had been mis tagged or missing a price and they refused to sell and i felt like they wanted to just leave and not help customers before closing. Salvation Army another donation establishment, has always sold anything mislabeled or no label. They are much more into improving the many socio-economic classes of folks and friendly and personal. Felt like home.
I’ve shopped here several times and it’s been a good experience. The place is clean, the employees are nice and helpful but the parking needs a bit more room. It’s quite tight and sometimes hard to maneuver around each other.
They are always restocking and if you aren’t there soon, the furniture is always the first to be sold.
I Do recommend coming here first if you’re looking for a good bargain and a hard to find item.
I rate value village 4 stars because i cant stay away from it. I love this place except for the staff. They treat every customer like a thief and every task even if its in their job description, seems to be too much for them. They follow you around and catching the "bas guy" is the only thing they're interested in.
This is a second hand store. It carries a variety of items from household kitchen necessities to clothing. Gently used and very resonably priced. Staff is attentive and helpful. Many items are new condition or never used. Worth a look.
I really like thrifting as its good for the environment, cheap and a fun time. However it’s becoming increasingly difficult to shop here as the prices continue to raise. The prices here at similar to consignment shop prices, NOT that of a thrift store. The items are donated to them for free yet they’re still charging $9.99 for a scarf or a t-shirt. I really like Value Village but I can no longer afford to shop here for used goods.
Sometimes you can find a gem hidden in the hand-me-downs. The usual Alaskan thrift store. Staff are generally kind and helpful.
I love this place! The books are the first place I head to ..... Great selection and a mix of old and new! Also nonfiction are interesting.
Can find some great clothes items. Even some things to bring home from Alaska!
Found a nice dress for a good price.
Best thing is, it's a torrid!
Value village is the best place in Anchorage to find a good deal. They have everything from clothes to shoes. They have nicknacks and kitchenware. Furniture, books, jewelry, sporting goods. You find the most amazing stuff if you look. There inventory changes daily, they are always restocking the shelfs with new merchandise. They are reasonable on prices. Very organized for a thrift store. Staff is always nice.
The store probably has great clothes but I just got overwhelmed by the amount. Good prices, you just really have to love thrifting!
I wish I could have tried on the clothes before checking out. No refunds allowed; only exchanges. Take a tape measure to estimate the sizes better.
Value village is one of those places where you never know what you will find. Today I found 7 good movies for less than $20. At the checkout nice young woman named Tabitha even ensured that the DVDs were in the cases, something I sometimes forget to check.
I had a great trip to Value Village. I donated some things and purchased some top of the line designer items. The staff was helpful, and made my trip that much quicker.
Picked up some very affordable shirts that were in my excellent condition and would normally be considerably more expensive elsewhere. Will shop again
Lots to choose from. Prices have gone up a bit but still good deals
Big selection and not to bad quality.
Prices fair although should be reduced due to where the products came from
I absolutely love Value Village, and this location is no exception. It's a great place to shop.I can usually find what I am looking for , and sometimes things that I am not looking for. It's great.
Safe, clean, good selection of clothes. I don't really know what to say, if you're looking for an item of clothing in particular, they've got it, and likely 1/5th retail cost for some things.
Great selection. Constantly refreshing products. Best prices for clothing. Donate before you shop for a 20% discount cupon.
Prices way too high. There was a pair of leggings with a store tag saying it cost 1.94 and the value village sticker said it cost 1.99. Some of these you can get for a cheaper price at Walmart
They always have something on my list even if I didnt know I had a list. The staff are friendly and helpful.i never know what I'll find there today I found a good price on cute little polar bear, little green turtle and little spider shaped earnings for a good price.
It's worth it to visit the Dimond Value Village when there's a sale. The one on Northern Lights is way cheaper though, no sale needed!
Both are great though. Good finds all over if you look for them
It's a great shop, but sometimes the prices are to high and they get alot of donations there and some of the staff aren't very friendly there
Went looking for books. Found books and a few name brand hoodies for my son:) the lady at register gave me discount advertised on the flyer, very kind. ** Can be a little spendy for a thrift store. On some items.
Great place to get unique clothing for all ages. Lots of other things as well.
Great deals, just sign up with a phone number for rewards.
Have occasionally checked on specific items I was seeking, and actually found something suitable on occasion. Well organized. Doesn't seem to have "that smell" so often associated with used items.
I appreciate that there's someone at the door counting people coming in, politely offering masks and sanitizer if needed, and a quick run down of sales & specials.
Everything it's nicely placed and easy to navigate around. The helper Guy who works there was very nice. The cash register lady is a little pushy though hence the four stars
Love thrift stores, but a lot of the items you buy are the same price at Walmart brand new. I give it a 3.
Bought some kids' books to donate to charity and they had a pretty good selection. Plus, the store was organized/clean. The staff was nice too
Bought a decent coffee table for $4.99, cheaper than a latte😂 …
While I enjoy thrift shopping, I really expect to get a bargain. Prices are just too high for garage sale quality, and that goes for all the thrift stores.
Kind of pricey for a thrift, not a bad spot and.. good finds .
I’ve never had an issue at this store. Most prices are fair and workers are as courteous as thrift store workers can be.
Not too shabby. The bald manager thinks EVERYONE is a thief and follows people around the store constantly. Pretty freaking annoying!
It's better to go during the week when everyone else is at work verses the evening or weekends
I love how much stuff they have but the things are and donated and outrageously priced
Good deals but did not have a self inflating camping pad
It is a good place for second hand items but the pricing for most things in there I rather just buy it new.
Value village is value village sometimes their prices are great other times they are not they want damn near New prices on a few things just because of the name of it
Their smaller location but a good one. You can find all sorts of hidden goodies for the whole family.
Color coordinated clothing on the racks for easy shopping.
Now they even have self checkout! Coolness
A friendly atmosphere. Excellent for that one item you can not find anywhere else.
Tell them "Hi" & they will spoil you!!! Great place for Designer Jeans & Quality goods for home or office fun🤩🤩🤩 …
Well volume village is the 2nd hand store nothing like goodwill goodwill is for profit for Value village is not. Nuff said
Lots of nice name brand items. Store was rather small and crowded though. A few items seemed rather high priced however I did have a good experience.
Found a nice winter coat for a decent price, inside and outside of store could of been cleaner though, altogether was a decent experience.
Only 1 cashier and she had a sign cashier in training. Many waiting in line. Staff shortage like the rest of the 🇺🇸 US. …
Good prices for most items. But low selection
Since they gained "competition" across the intersection, they've just kinda went to pot. Used to be pretty fantastic, now it's just pretty dirty.
I like shopping the thrift stores. Value Village is clean, well organized and have friendly, helpful staff.
Prices are a lil high, but decent items to chose from.
Nice...
The selection changes often and the prices are reasonable for the most part. I as always find something!
Great place for Halloween Costumes. Good prices
Great prices for things that are still brand new with the tag on it but they don't do returns I bout a jacket that looked brand new until I got to my car and realized a tear on the arm
It was clean. I guest with the covid not a lot of people are donating cloth. There was not a lot of pick in my size.
Great selection and very affordable, some things are a bit over priced.
They got a good selection of clothes, a few odds and ends. Little bit everything
Typical thrift shop, clothes always smell clean and fresh.
It's well maintained. I like how organized and color coordinated this place is.
Some times you get very good stuff here
Prices seem to be higher then other competitive stores.
Good ti find stuff and drop off stuff you do not need.
High price's but bought a few item's But to High Priced for second hand merchandise Need to Lower Prices !
Good book and movie selection, not so good clothes or outdoor gear selection
The value village on diamond has a waay better selection then the one in midtown.
Love getting like new clothes for a fraction of the price.
Good selection and WAY cheaper than good will
Clean, greeter let me know sale tags when I walked in.
Decent store, not as much of a selection as some of the others in town or in Wasilla. Pretty cramped.
Lots of gently used items. Prices could be a little lower
You can find some interesting items here!
Good place to look for a few things.. but always a little more spendy then I think about thrift stores.
Great day to get the most out of my familys budget
We shop resale often, reusable items matter to us.
For the type of place it is there are some decent quality clothes
Nice selection. Friendly people. Way to expensive.
The staff is generally friendly and the store is always clean
Best thrift shop, little pricey.
Very inexpensive large selection and open after I get off work
Way overpriced for a thrift shop...Salvation Army Store behind it priced at least 50% less!
Thot Halloween costumes were out already but not yet
Very clean store and the people working were very helpful.
Excellent assistance. A helper actually obtained for me everything I wanted. I wish I knew her name.
How can they charge and justify such astronomical prices on DONATED merchandise??!!
I love shopping here so many great prices
My 10 yo had a blast finding the clothes c liked
They want too much money for some of their used goods. But you can get a deal if you look hard enough.
Just not enough time to look at everything but enjoyed shopping there. Friendly they are.
Clean, the employees were all so friendly and helpful.
Cheap clothing price. They're like new. And saves a lot of money.
You can get lots of cool stuff there
Good deals and helpful staff! Found what I needed in no time!
Value village is a good place to find repurposeful treasures.
Love love love this place!!!! Great deals, good people for the most part

Pricey for a thrift store but we did find most of our costumes there.
