Reviews of Greyhound: Bus Station
Greyhound is not the best form of travel but when one needs it. It’s a blessing. I’ve Greyhound from Denver to SLC, Cheyanne to San Diego, San Diego to El Paso, El Paso to Seattle, it’s not fast, nor particularly comfortable but you’ll get there. I haven’t been to the SLC station in a few years. Last time I was there, there were lots of homeless folks but I believe the homeless shelter is like couple minutes walking. So, keep that in mind, at night this place is sketchy.
Not super comfortable but atleast somewhere to stay warm and out of the cold waiting for your transit. Lots of homeless and drug addicts be careful.
I love this one it's so clean ordered and not wait accessible to all commuting city buses trains airport
Brett B was very cautious driving and kept us updated ! Thank you for having me this morning !!
Very clean and friendly security and customer service reps. Police presence keeps the riff-raff away. I felt comfortable waiting at the station for my bus.
Let me tell you
Two years ago
My so called friend
Asked me to go on a road trip with to L.A.
Mind you we from East Oakland ca,
So didn't know this so called friend was about to drive all the way to New York city!
And wasn't planning on ever bringing me back to the bay
So he left me and salt lake city,
Lil did he know that they were gonna take care of me like they did,
I mean I never in my had white people ( I'M TRYING TO BE RUDE WHEN I SAY THAT SO PLEASE FORGIVE ME)
Out there really took good care of me they all were so nice to me and made sure I got back home to the bay area.
It's greyhound. Cheap ride, gets you were you need to go. As with most greyhounds, not in the best part of town, but slc is usually a good place.
This is like my last report on the greyhound station, the place was nice got me where I needed to be and soon they will get me back to where I need to go.
Great traveling home in the summer never again in winter got trapped in a blizzard and was 6 hours late getting in I miss my connection bus and had to find a ride to get from Denver to Colorado Springs
It's ok the bus tracker didn't work at all but if you love road trip without driving this is the way to go.
This is the bus station I came into salt lake City to stay with my uncle and around 2 or 3 in the morning and he came and and got me other than the trip being majorly and them not feeding us for the overlay we ended up having to go back about 500 miles do the weather I don't blame them forbut they could have accommodated that's with breakfast or something they did not do that and that was disappointed because unfortunately I had no money at the time to be able to feed myself so I went hungry
I've been here a few times. Bus always on time. Never had any negative experiences or complaints
Great company. Customer service is a little shotty but it's a hit & miss depending on the employees. The building could use a face lift inside and out.
Kind of a scary part of town, but there is a guard there 24/7
Not too bad of food either...
Friendly staff for tickets and info
Over the years I've traveled with greyhounds and Greyhound has just got better starting with the buses they are like being on an airplane and clientele very respectable very professional service and that brings to mind my little brother when he was about 4 years old he referred to Greyhound as the dog bus dog is a buzzword nowadays
I had a 2 hour lay over while they cleaned our bus. The building is clean and smelled nice. The bathrooms were clean. There is homeless people around outside but they we're polite. The homeless shelters are also just a block away.
Has security, and is well lit. It's in downtown salt lake so it's a lil rougher with the crowd but everyone seemed to be nice.
Very clean, friendly guards, nice staff only problem was they talked just a bit too much with customers making us later
To close to a homeless shelter less than one block so if you're not used to that it can be very uncomfortable very dirty but staff is very polite kind and very helpful.
Best place to send your husband away for good he gets on the bus and don't stop lol
It was fine. I just went to the lost and found because that's where the stuff from the UTA trains ends up. It was pretty much deserted. It didn't exactly feel safe with some of the people loitering around, but I got in and out without incident.
I love this place! They've got a local UTA office there & you can go catch Frontrunner to go to Centerville,Farmington or Ogden from there!I'll gladly recommend this place to those who ask!You can also catch the Amtrak there as well!
It's so wonderful to have public transportation available!! Thank you!!
Your great standard bus station, but all outdoors. Some pretty sketchy stuff goes down in the parking lot though.
Modern and convenient, problems with the BUMS [Homeless], sleeping outside, a few inside, and yes I dare, inless they are vets... I've been on the threshold myself.... Food is airport pricing. Its at the center of the city's awesome infrastructure transportation hub!
Do UTA located in there as the lost and found in customer service desk they are very professional however the security guard that works for Greyhound makes you feel like you're more in a prison or a jail than an actual public building even if it is for customers only if your UTA customer you belong there same if your Greyhound client I would even think the Amtrak's cuz I can't say that for certain I'm sure that the one security guard that I could only describe with profanity so I will not do so because I think he is a vile creature anyways try to keep out of the way of the glorified self righteous security guard and you'll be fine
Waited 90 minutes for a bus because the first bus got filled up so that had to get another one. Disorganized, lazy bus drivers. Clean bus and smooth ride. 3 stars.
People are cool get little breaks only thing is Wi-Fi sometimes won't work like at all not cause of the area but cause the busses sometimes are too old and mess up
I love Greyhound bus. Always have liked the drivers and services!!
Bus personnel were great, however there were the homeless people frequently roaming around the Depot, especially after the sun went down....
Thx for ur service...my son & grandson got to UT & back to CA safe 👍 …
It's a cheap way to go long distance. But sucks when it comes to long waiting times
Granted it was a Sunday afternoon so they probably weren't as busy as usual, but it did feel a little sketchy. There was a homeless man walking around asking people for change so he could use the vending machines. The security guard was pretty nice. Someone had apparently peed in front of the bathroom door because they lock and you have to ask to get in.
If you need to stay warm go there but be nice to them
It was the first for me to take the bus and it was a great experience.
Can't miss it! Located indoors which is definitely nice for when you travel in cold weather. If you have any questions about which door to line up at for your bus, ask the employee at the ticket counter for the best answer! (I've gotten the run around a couple of times) Sometimes the ticket counter isn't "open" so there won't be an attendant, but there is usually a security guard on site and you can always ask the bus driver to look at your itinerary before boarding. There are restrooms and vending machines as well as some snack items at the ticket counter for purchase.
I had 9 hours delay here, staff are not working even in work hours .worde exoerience ever.washrooms are stinky.
It's a nice little station. Better than what it was.
Kleen DECENT secure
I have been traveling since Sacramento to transfer point from Amtrak to Greyhound the train broke down I got it late miss my transfer Greyhound picked up my bill for a hotel and got me an Uber so I believe Amtrak dropped the ball but Greyhound picked it up and her name is Bobbie Joe thank you very MUCH.. she went out of her way to make sure I got a hotel room and then Uber and pick me up in the morning once again she deserves a kudos for that one thank you thank you thank you
Needs to have more security homeless Brouther you for money salt lake cityone
They have big busses that take you where you want to go.
Bus station with clean quiet very friendly help
One if the nicest bus stations with friendly staff and ease of moving around
Good staff to help. Good travel. Comfortable seats.
Supervisor Mr. Carlos a very helpful gentleman, goes above and beyond to help keep travelers coming and going smoothly. Salt Lake City was very clean and all other staff and security did their best. - Denton
I had to go to the lost and found Department of Utah Transit Authority, the service is great but the location is poor.
Clean and well maintained. In the same complex as Amtrak and UTA buses and the Blue Line Trax.
affordable prices but not big more like bus stop station
Good way to travel at a fair price
Visited by transients so restrooms need tokens for use. Gone downhill over the years
Had not been on Greyhound in years love the ride out of the city
People take up all of the seats so there is no where to sit. They have vending machines and coffee machines but they are super expensive. It keeps you out of the cold when waiting for the front runner. They were cleaning bathrooms when we were there so I have no clue what that was like. We didn't even get on the bus because we were just waiting for the train so I don't know how that is either.
Station is fairly clean. To many home bums mobbing up begging for money and or smokes. Not to mention tent city across the street feeding the chaos.
I love Salt Lake City's mass transit system all goes under central hub and leave greyhound station is very easy to get to from the tracks light rail strong.
They went out of there way to accommodate me and assist me in finding the quickest route even credited me enough to make it home. As well as being kind enough to watch my things while I went sight seeing. In Reno the clerk walked me to the store because it was dark and I was alone for concern of my safety.
Covid compliant. Clean with helpful staff. Arrive early.
The cleanest and nicest I've been in ever😎 …
It was very clean and I felt safe in waiting area.
Safely brought my Baby to me. Thx Greyhound.
Clean, friendly, and they make sure you are safe. Only downfall was the smell, sweaty feet.
Can’t expect much at a greyhound station haha
not a bad bus stop easy access from freeway
Great place to catch a bus
On time got me from point a to point b with no problems bus was on time
I traveling through Salt Lake City, UT and asked if I could use the restroom. I was given a token and free heroin and needle. Now, I enjoyed coming thru Greyhound Salt Lake City services.
Love the Homeless People! They are Friendly, Kool, & Helpful!
Easy directions! Employees were extremely helpful and nice!
Nice enough building, has convenience store that seems to open and close randomly. All the vending machines also only take one dollar bills, so bring small change if you plan on buying anything from them. If you're waiting for Trax or Frontrunner it's a good place to hang out when it's cold.
The parsonel very polite and helpful I highly recommended it
First of all we all know greyhound dose have its share of problems but after 13 years of using this company to go from Salt Lake City to Fredrick MD I know some of the employees can be cranky at times and the security guard is there to keep us all safe and yes these buses get delayed and they brake down but you have to expect it to happen these buses travel 3000-4000 miles a day if not more and yes the bathroom in the station dose get dirty but I am sure if you talk to the ticket counter they will get it cleaned and I been reading the comments about the bathroom on the bus let’s face it it’s basically a out house so after so many people use it except it to start stinking and if you are in the front or the middle of the bus you can’t really smell it. and I am not going to lie greyhound is not the best means of transportation but they do get you to where ever you need to go safely
This station has a decent waiting area. It is however surrounded by a slummy area. The bus passes a massive homeless shelter. I've never seen so many people sleeping outside in one place. I can't blame them. I don't know them.
There isn't anything immediately close by to walk with luggage and grab quality food.
The bathrooms are half way functional. Multiple stalls are out of order but at least there is running water in the sinks.
There was a confrontation between staff while we were waiting in line at the gate to board.
There was a half ass attempt to search carry on luggage. There was only enough time to search the front half of the line.
One of the cleanest I've seen. God job utah
Good intercity hub but not very clean
Like all greyhound stations it's just that.
Clean well maintained...security...very welcoming....
The bus was not what expected but I got to my destination Alive
Had a great ride. 14 hrs
This station is part of the imtermodel station, which includes Greyhound buses, Amtrak trains, UTA buses, UTA trax blue line, and UTA front runner trains
THERE IS NOT A HERTZ RENTAL LOCATION AT THIS AREA!!! DO NOT TRUST YOUR EMAIL RECEIPTS. YOU NEED TO GO TO THE SLC AIRPORT!
we had a bad Snow day and they did ever thang thqssey
Very smooth adventure driver were extremely courtious.
I love visiting Greyhound Bus Station.
Nice station, in a rough area...
Cleaner than most bus stations and doesn't smell like desperation . . . as bad.
Had to get home...long road trip
Very helpful with route info.clean also
The train station is in downtown Salt Lake which is not a great neighborhood. I would advise not to arrive at night alone. Its a fine bus station but the area of town is not great. Luckily there is a security guard inside the building but getting inside can be a challenge. My best advice is if you are taking the bus arrive during the day and try to go with another person. Other then that the building has many different vending machines for snacks and drinks and restrooms.
Very little to do here. Super strict security.
Felt very safe and have a comfortable ride
Safe, quiet place to wait for bus.
The employees that work there are great
Great connections from the Hub by way of transportation
The busses is good, the location no
Scary! Lots of weird people hang out here.
A transportation hub for local busses, light rail, Amtrak, Frontrunner commuter trains, and Greyhound busses. The counter hours are a little strange and security is petty, verging upon pathetic. But a grand addition to Salt Lakes transportation needs.
The location is the Salt Lake City Intermodal hub. From here Trax, Frontrunner, and several buses are available on the UTA side but also there is Grayhound here as well
Great stops I love them all
The Salt Lake Greyhound Terminal is also connected to Utah's UTA Transit company for busses and local trains to local cities and locations, and also connects to the Amtrak Salt Lake Station. Salt Lake City Greyhound is actually really easy to get through and get on the bus on time, with on time departures and arrivals coming back in. The customer service is well above average, and they all smile. The baggage handlers are well organized and have excellent communication and listening skills, the Terminal itself is maintained well, and the bathrooms are average on the regular cleaning schedule. You'll always have your typical "fun" people as to term it here, who are potentially not housed, and going somewhere else in the country, or having their own time. Everyone minds their own business respectfully, and actually are nice people to talk to if you are able to talk to them.
Nice, but staff was too bossy.
The place is very clean and sharp. Most the people working at that place are friendly and will help you with your needs. Also they have free Wi-Fi while you wait. Couple things for what I didn't give 5 stars to this place, which it makes difference with the one I know in Denver. No bathrooms for public. Like.. seriously? not just here but the whole Salt Lake Station. Denver is huge, have bathrooms everywhere and you can drink fresh cold water, waiting area is wonderful, you have tables to connect your computer, or even just at the seats, you have connections to plug your charger for your phone. Here, Salt Lake, ughhh, really .... and the other reason is some of the personal at the Greyhound tickets area, are just rude, not just don't let you talk, but also one of them totally treat me as a liar, I think he should be sent to Denver to see how people is there, helpful on any way they can and see how is different before to tell me what I'm saying is not true.
PARTY Mormon Style
Not exactly what I expected, passengers were rude
Lots of drug dealers hang out near by
Clean station for my 4 hr. Layover
A very multi functional transportation hub
Don't leave your stuff in attended

I have not been inside
Very clean but always be alert
They need to clean up the area
Clean, quiet, has security. It's a bus station.
Strange Greyhound policies, roaches and sketchy people
Easy to get arround
It's part of the SLC Intermodial hub, connecting Amtrak and Greyhound services to UTA Bus, Trax, and Frontrunner service. Both the Greyhound and UTA helpdesks and ticket sales are in the main building, which makes finding schedules and buying tickets easier. However, the restroom looks like a nightmare, so if you need to go, do it elsewhere. The main building has indoor seating for Greyhound as well.
Very cold and unfriendly
