Remember when complaining that your car didn't fit on the ferry that this is also a ferry for the residents of the island- their transportation (rightly) gets prioritized. Anyway, this ferry is so cute. For both the initial and return trip, we lined up ~20 minutes early and were among the first 10 to board if not the first, apart from residents of the island. We took the Peaks Island ferry. The breeze, the water, the view was amazing. Large bodies of water make me extremely nervous but I felt nothing but peace on the ferry. Tickets are cheap, the ferry protects you from the elements if need be, and everything is easily accessible.

Fun rides, clean boats, generally in time and reliable, ticket prices are reasonable, and the ferry terminal is nice. Bathrooms could be cleaner but they’re fine (customers left items in the bathroom like a soda bottle). Easy to understand and use the signs for the boats.

Fine terminal where you buy your tickets and wait for the ferry to come. Enclosed and protected from the elements, making sure you stay warm and dry when it counts. The employees are friendly and nice, and the interior is clean. It can get a little crowded, and parking can prove challenging during peak season.

Great ferry ride over to Peaks Island. No frills, but ticketing and boarding was a quick and painless experience. They board the ship in a timely manner and then start moving immediately afterwards. Getting off the boat was just as quick. I've taken this a few times now, and never had an issue with getting on and off the ferry.

Casco Bay lines, located in Portland, Maine Commercial Street, is one of the busiest terminals I have seen. Even though this terminal is extremely busy, the customer service and courteousness of the staff is second to none. We used the ferry to go to Peaks Island. The boarding process was simple and the ferry ran on schedule. I enjoyed the view from the top deck.

The ferry is a great way to see Casco Bay and the islands. The service is run professionally and gives visitors to Portland an opportunity to get out on the water and experience the coast and islands of Maine first hand. Bring you own food and water and extra clothes regardless of the time of year. Go for a tour or get off at any of the islands and catch a ride back later. Remember that this is a commuter ferry for the island residences, so be respecful.

I love every ferry ive been on here staff are wonderful and kind very clean and the views!! Go day tripping and jump on the ferry! Its super way to view casco bay

We took the Casco Bay Ferry to Bailey Island. The island had two restaurants you could eat at and that's it! Maybe try another ferry. Bailey's wasnt worth the 90 minutes out and back.
