Theyre usually my go-to's but lately they've been slacking. Wait times can go anywhere from 20 mins to 2hrs if you're requesting a pickup from Costco or bjs in Brooklyn. I'm starting to see a trend with these car service companies.

I prefer old fashion cab service opposed to Uber, Lyft, etc... This cab company was professional while I was on the phone with them & while I was in the cab. The driver was also very nice & I could tell he was trying to provide excellent Customer service (which he did). The driver had his mask on, due to the pandemic, and followed the proper protocol.

Their service has improved significantly. If the say 5 minutes it'll likely be 5 minutes or less. They even text you when they re at the meeting point. However, the best by far is the price. It could be as low as half the price of an Uber (compared them recently on a time I to go to the airport).

I've completely switched from UBER after I realized they no longer have an active customer service line after I tried to complain about a driver and the horrible experience I had. A friend recommended La Mexicana and now I'm hooked. Fair, honest pricing. Clean vehicles. Courteous drivers who speak multiple languages including English. Their drivers know the city and it's outskirts intuitively. They use a GPS but also use common sense. I have their APP, but if I want I can talk to a human simply by calling! Someone knowledgeable answers and directs in great detail the arrival time of my vehicle and what kind of car to expect and I like this. Also, they have ALWAYS been on time, give or take universal circumstance. The driver calls when he's on his way and I like this. People are just better. Get real and keep NYC local. I appreciate how fast their service can be. I understand it gets busy so theres not much cars available but I would appreciate that to be communicated instead of telling me its arriving in 5 minutes and it ends up arriving in 20 mins or not at all. I would still use their service though.

Not sure why there are bad reviews but we used them recently many times and they were quick, cheap, and good. In fact, uber tried to charge us double the price for a trip from Manhattan to Brooklyn so we used them instead. They are located no where near us each time we used them but still picked us up quickly.

I was using Sunset Car Service for decades. I was very satisfied with them however they recently changed ownership and their service is horrible. I had an emergency that I had to get to and the dispatch told me it would be 8 minutes or less. The card did not arrive until 32 minutes later. This wasn't the first time that this occurred. One of the drivers from Sunset also left and went with Mexicana. He gave me their business card and I have been calling them when I need a car service. They are very reliable, their drivers are courteous and respectful, and their prices are great.
