Good place to have the ferry across the Mississippi river in the New Orleans downtown. With RTA mobile app, day pass for ferry is $3 and is 5minutes ride to Algiers point. The ferry is available once in 15mins connecting either points. Mask is enforced onboard the ferry.
Night view looks so awesome than the day pics. Carry on the DSLR while planning for the trip for the nice photos. Staffs are friendly and shall assist in taking pics as well.

Quick ride from canal st to West Bank. People complain about the exact change. Is it really hard to have $2 before you board? Don't blame those who work on the ferry. They might be stubborn and act stupid, but it's their job and they have rules. If you're lazy enough and can't get exact change before boarding then don't take the ferry. Boarding and the ride itself is pretty quick and easy. Nothing fancy just very pleasant experience going from canal to Algiers point and back.

I was able to get some great photos and video of the city that I would not have otherwise been able to get thanks to this ferry! Everyone was friendly and understanding that we had not ridden anything like this before and helped us figure it out pretty quick. Definitely worth a ride if you are visiting the area!

Took a dinner cruise on the Creole Queen. The food was great the band was very good. Nice relaxing trip. Just 2 hrs though, no 3 hr cruises here.

What’s there to not like about a ferry ride?! Smooth access. Smooth ride. Short but well worth the $2 fee.

The Canal/Algiers ferry runs every half an hour on the hour and half hour. The cost is $2 for regular pedestrians. $1 reduced fare for seniors 65+ and medicare cardholders. The caveat is that you need to go to their office on Canal up by Warren Easton to get a disabled card. No vehicles other than bicycles allowed. Under 2 years old is free. There are RTA buses at each end of the line on both sides of the river. If you have the RTA GoMobile app, you can show your day pass with your phone. In fact, the running hours are different for different days. Check the RTA GoMobile app when planning your trip. Smooth sailing.

In June every year is the New Orleans Tango Festival with Milonga in the boat. You dance tango with a great buffet and topical food. Great idea I love it.

$2 boat ride across the Mississippi, good sights. Walkway could use little paint, but a great deal! Take the time or if you need to fill a little time. Once across the river wall along the coast great views of downtown city.

Two dollar ferry rides. Just know that they only accept cash, you have to get off on the other side (or pay again for the ride back), and the ride is about seven minutes long each way.
